Ramaswamy says Dems’ plan to swap in Obama for Biden just moved closer to reality

Former Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy doubled down on his theory that Democrats will swap out President Biden with Michelle Obama on their party’s ticket following the release of the special counsel’s report.

The bombshell findings from Special Counsel Robert Hur put a spotlight on Biden’s cognitive abilities, saying he would not bring charges against him in part because a jury would find him to be a “sympathetic, well-meaning elderly man with a poor memory,” despite the acknowledgment that the classified documents were “willfully” obtained by Biden both as vice president and as a senator.

Ramaswamy, who was outspoken on the campaign trail about the belief that the 81-year-old president will ultimately not be the Democratic nominee, told Fox News Digital the special counsel’s report marks the “convenient path” for Democrats to nominate the popular former first lady.

FLASHBACK: DEMS RAN DEFENSE ON BIDEN’S AGE BEFORE SPECIAL COUNSEL PUT DAMNING SPOTLIGHT ON HIS ‘POOR MEMORY’

“The main obstacle stopping the Democratic Party is they have a Kamala Harris problem, which is to say that if they do sideline Biden, the natural person normally that would be the nominee, could be the vice president of that same sitting president. But that vice president is unable, I think, to effectively carry forward that job,” Ramaswamy said. “She didn’t make it to the Iowa caucus in the year that she ran, right, even and within her own party, let alone an issue with broader popularity in the country.”

“If race and gender are your basis for selecting someone for a job, and the identity of your party is tied to that temple of identity politics, then they will risk looking hypocritical if they sideline her after they sideline Biden. And I do think Michelle Obama offers them a convenient path out of that problem, somebody who checks the boxes that they need to have checked per their own ideology, while also selecting an alternative to Biden that they may view as more palatable in a general election . . . it’s looking increasingly like it’s not going to be Biden as the nominee. And I think that it should not be shocking to see someone like Michelle Obama take the role of the nomination,” Ramaswamy said.

BIDEN LASHES OUT AT REPORTERS ASKING ABOUT AGE CONCERNS AFTER SPECIAL COUNSEL REPORT: ‘THAT’S YOUR JUDGMENT!’

When asked about Hur’s decision not to bring charges against Biden, Ramaswamy said it signaled Biden’s “willingness” to eventually step aside.

“I think that coincides within recent months [of] him saying things like, you know, other Democratic nominees could also be successful in the general,” Ramaswamy said. “So I think that we’re seeing a general trend towards what I predicted . . . which is that they would move Biden out of the way. And I think this is one more step in that direction.”

MICHELLE OBAMA COULD ‘SNEAK HER WAY’ INTO THE 2024 PRESIDENTIAL RACE, NY POST COLUMNIST WARNS

Hur, who was appointed by Attorney General Merrick Garland to investigate Biden’s handling of classified documents, revealed that Biden had a “hazy” memory about when he was previously in office and when his son Beau died, which happened in 2015.

“In his interview with our office, Mr. Biden’s memory was worse,” the report states. “He did not remember when he was vice president, forgetting on the first day of the interview when his term ended (‘if it was 2013 — when did I stop being Vice President?’), and forgetting on the second day of the interview when his term began (‘in 2009, am I still Vice President?’).”

“He did not remember, even within several years, when his son Beau died,” the report continued. “And his memory appeared hazy when describing the Afghanistan debate that was once so important to him. Among other things, he mistakenly said he ‘had a real difference’ of opinion with General Karl Eikenberry, when, in fact, Eikenberry was an ally whom Mr. Biden cited approvingly in his Thanksgiving memo to President Obama.”

These revelations, in addition to his recent slew of gaffes, continue to fuel concerns among some voters about the advanced age of Biden, the oldest president in U.S. history. His likely 2024 opponent, former President Trump, will turn 78 in June.

SEE IT: Quick-thinking father fights off suspect who tried to kidnap 4-year-old from store

A Florida man was arrested after he attempted to snatch a 4-year-old boy from inside a CVS pharmacy in Miami Beach, Florida, on Thursday, police said — but luckily, the boy’s quick-thinking father came to the rescue and dragged the would-be kidnapper away.

The frightening incident, which was captured on CCTV, took place at around 11:55 a.m. when the boy and his parents were leaving the pharmacy located on the corner of Collins Avenue and 74th Street in the city’s North Beach area, according to WPLG Local10.

The brazen suspect, identified as 26-year-old Nicolas Sternaman, can be seen walking into the store before he suddenly turns and bends down to grab the boy by the neck.

FLORIDA MAN ARRESTED AFTER HE ALLEGEDLY ATTEMPTED TO KIDNAP CHILD FROM WALMART: POLICE

The footage shows Sternaman lifting the child off the ground and turning to face the store’s door to leave when the father pounces on the suspect and pulls Sternaman away from his son.

The boy can be seen falling to the ground while his desperate mother races to her child’s defense by picking him up and scooping him to safety inside the store.

As she does so, the boy’s father wrestles with Sternaman for several seconds and even rips his jacket off him before the suspect bolts through the door and flees the scene.

A witness and the father chased Sternaman southbound on Collins Avenue where he took off his sweater and tossed it, WPLG Local10 reports, citing police.

Police officers joined the pursuit and arrested Sternaman along Harding Avenue near 71st Street, about three blocks from the CVS.

BELOVED FLORIDA MAILMAN KILLED IN HIT-AND-RUN, POLICE SEARCH FOR SUSPECT

Sternaman is facing felony charges of aggravated child abuse and kidnapping a child, according to the Miami-Dade County Corrections and Rehabilitation website.

Sternaman, who lives in a penthouse at the Mirador 1000 condominium in South Beach, was also arrested for petit theft on Jan. 3 and was released on a $150 bond, WPLG Local10 reports, citing Miami-Dade County court records.

The outlet reports that Sternaman refused to explain to police why he had allegedly tried to abduct the child.

“Be aware of your child every second because in one second they can be taken away,” the boy’s father warned viewers of WPLG Local10, while his mother described the incident as “terrifying.”

Witness Zachary Jefferson explained to CBS News what he saw unfold.

“I was just standing at the register and paying for my items and I look … and there was a guy just fighting another guy. And I thought it was someone trying to take the lady’s purse,” Jefferson said.

“Everyone was just shocked because it was so quick and it was so fast. The guy just came out of nowhere.”

Bill Maher warns how world’s biggest pop star could impact the presidential election

“Real Time” host Bill Maher is convinced that music superstar Taylor Swift could “literally swing the election” in favor of President Biden.

“I’ve hesitated to cover Taylor Swift like it’s a national news story, but I swear to God- and for all my years of experience doing this, this is a national news story in the sense that this is a person who could literally swing the election,” Maher began a panel discussion Friday night. “I don’t know what that says about this country, but I would just say to the MAGA people, you should be very careful attacking her because this is someone who transcends parties.”

“I mean, this is a country girl, right? She started out as a country artist as a White girl from Pennsylvania, I think, grew up on a farm, right? Never had a Black boyfriend- I’m just saying… She’s had a lot of boyfriends that we all know about! If MAGA’s full of racists, they gotta love that!” Maher quipped. He added that she’s dating an NFL player in a “league that’s 80% Black. She couldn’t find one there?!”

BILL MAHER SAYS BIDEN CAN BE SWITCHED OUT AT THE DNC CONVENTION: HE SOLD HIMSELF AS A ‘ONE TERM’ PRESIDENT

He continued, “I’m just saying this is somebody you could really get in trouble with as far as attacking- for MAGA because Trump’s people, they’re already registered and voting for him. Her voters perhaps are not registered at all. And she doesn’t have to say who she’s voting for! All she has to say is get registered. They know who she’s voting for… So I think you could be a waking sleeping-until-the-afternoon giant here.”

BILL MAHER SLAMS BIDEN, GOPERS ‘ACTING’ IN BORDER CRISIS BATTLE: THEY SHOULD GET ‘AN AWARD’ THIS AWARDS SEASON

“Girl Land” author Caitlan Flanagan seemed more skeptical about how much sway Swift has over the electorate despite being an “amazing young woman.”

“I just don’t know anybody who hasn’t made up their mind in this election, no matter who,” Flanagan said.

“She could get so many people who are not registered,” Maher responded. “That demographic is the one that is untapped.”

“And, you know, go Taylor,” Maher cheered on the artist.

Swift, fresh off her Grammy win for Album of the Year, is expected to make an appearance at Sunday’s Super Bowl to cheer on her boyfriend, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, whose relationship has generated a lot of fanfare throughout the NFL season.

BILL MAHER SAYS A ‘PRETTY FAMOUS’ PERSON LASHED OUT AT HIM FOR ‘PLATFORMING’ REPUBLICANS ON HIS HBO SHOW

The Biden campaign is reportedly seeking Swift’s endorsement ahead of the 2024 election after she previously endorsed him in 2020.

However, many conservatives have urged the star to keep herself out of politics, warning that getting behind Biden could alienate a huge swath of the country and tarnish her brand.

Maher, meanwhile, has been growing increasingly pessimistic about Biden’s chances against former President Trump in November, insisting he’s the one Democrat that would lose to him.

During Friday’s show, he revived his “Ruth Bader Biden” analogy following the explosive report released by Special Counsel Robert Hur.

‘Rocky’ star’s Super Bowl ad will be changed following his sudden death

“Rocky” actor Carl Weathers’ FanDuel Super Bowl ad is being changed after the sudden news of his death. On Feb. 1, the actor “died peacefully in his sleep” at 76, his family shared.

In January, the sports betting company released a preview of its advertisement, which was centered around NFL star Rob Gronkowski. In the original ad, the former New England Patriots tight end was walking through the desert, toward Las Vegas, after missing the “FanDuel kick of destiny.”

Weathers made a cameo appearance and pulled up next to Gronkowski on a motorcycle with a sidecar and said, “This time, you won’t miss.” They drove off toward Sin City together.

Following Weathers’ sudden passing, Andrew Sneyd, FanDuel’s executive vice president of marketing, shared that the original ad would not be “appropriate.” Weathers’ will still appear in the new Super Bowl ad and Sneyd shared with the Hollywood Reporter that FanDuel has contacted Weathers’ family to make sure they are okay with the new video.

‘ROCKY’ STAR CARL WEATHERS DEAD AT 76

“We had built a master. One is an edit if he makes the kick and we have an edit if he misses,” Sneyd said in a statement to the outlet. “That content we had in those masters wouldn’t be appropriate for us to do anymore. Since the news of Carl’s passing came, we have been working with editors to help us get back to something that does make sense.”

After Carl’s death, FanDuel released a statement, sharing their condolences.

“We are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Carl Weathers,” the sports betting company told The Hollywood Reporter in a statement. “Throughout his life, Carl was an iconic talent who had a profound impact on the people he worked with on and off the screen.”

Their statement continued, “FanDuel was fortunate to have had an opportunity to work with him during our Super Bowl campaign. We are adjusting our campaign accordingly out of respect for the family during their time of grief.”

Earlier this month, Carl’s family issued a statement, sharing that the former NFL player had passed away.

“We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Carl Weathers,” his family said in a statement. “He died peacefully in his sleep on Thursday, February 1st, 2024. … Carl was an exceptional human being who lived an extraordinary life. Through his contributions to film, television, the arts and sports, he has left an indelible mark and is recognized worldwide and across generations. He was a beloved brother, father, grandfather, partner, and friend.”

Weathers played Apollo Creed in the first four movies in the “Rocky” series. He also starred opposite Arnold Schwarzenegger in “Predator” and Adam Sandler in “Happy Gilmore.” In 2021, Weathers was nominated for an Emmy Award for his performance in the Disney+ “Star Wars” television series “The Mandalorian.”

Weathers made his first appearance as the cocky, undisputed heavyweight world champion in 1976’s “Rocky,” starring Sylvester Stallone. The actor reprised his role as Creed in 1979’s “Rocky II,” 1982’s “Rocky III” and 1985’s “Rocky IV.”

In the franchise’s fourth film, Creed memorably died in the ring during a fight against Soviet Union champion Ivan Drago, played by Dolph Lundgren. After Creed’s death, his son Adonis Creed (Michael B. Jordan) would lead his own boxing trilogy starting in 2015.

Weathers took on leading roles in the action movies “Action Jackson” (1988) and “Hurricane Smith” (1992). In 1996, he starred as Chubbs Peterson, a former golf star who lost his hand after an alligator attack, in Sandler’s classic comedy “Happy Gilmore.”

The actor reprised his role in a cameo appearance in Sandler’s 2000 fantasy comedy movie “Little Nicky.” In 2002, he voiced a character in the animated Hanukkah movie “Eight Crazy Nights,” which starred Sandler in his first voiceacting role.

Weathers also starred in TV’s “Street Justice,” “In the Heat of the Night,” “Tour of Duty,” “Colony,” “Chicago Justice” and “Star vs. the Forces of Evil.”

He played a caricature of himself in four episodes of the hit sitcom “Arrested Development” from 2004 to 2013 and also appeared in “The Shield,” “E.R.,” “Psych,” “Chicago P.D.,” “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit” and “Magnum P.I.”

Other film credits include roles in “Friday Foster,” “Bucktown,” “Close Encounters of the Third Kind,” “Death Hunt,” “The Comebacks” and “Toy Story 4.”

Weathers most recently starred in all three seasons of “The Mandalorian” as Greef Karga, the leader of a bounty hunter guild.

In 2021, he received an Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Drama Series for his performance. Weathers also directed two episodes of the series, “Chapter 12: The Siege” and “Chapter 20: The Foundling.”

Born in New Orleans on Jan. 14, 1948, Weathers pursued a professional football career before becoming an actor. He played college football at San Diego State University, where he helped the SDSU Aztecs win the 1969 Pasadena Bowl.

After going undrafted by the NFL, Weathers signed the Oakland Raiders in 1970. He helped the Raiders claim the AFC West Division title and returned for the 1971 season before being released by the team.

‘World’s sexiest athlete’ says she turned down six-figure sponsorship deal

Alica Schmidt, the German track star who was dubbed “the world’s sexiest athlete,” said earlier this week that she had turned down a major payday from a well-known sponsor.

The 25-year-old runner told the OMR podcast that she wasn’t completely into the sponsor that had offered her the deal. Schmidt has more than five million followers on Instagram alone and has a separate deal with BOSS.

“Two months ago, I received an offer from a well-known brand. But I wasn’t 100% behind it,” she said, via Germany’s Bild newspaper. “I don’t feel comfortable with that. That would have been in the mid to high six figures. For a campaign.”

The New York Post noted in October that Schmidt had said that members of the German national team get about $739 a month in sponsorship deals through Sporthilfe, which supports the athletes.

Schmidt made the German Olympic team for the 2020 Games a few years ago but did not compete. She’s aiming to make the team for the Paris Olympics in the summer.

“You have to go beyond your limits every day. It also often happens that I throw up after training, because that’s how you suffer,” she said. “It’s also the best feeling when you’ve done it and pushed yourself and noticed that progress somewhere.”

Prominent Dems, journalists insist Biden is totally fine: ‘Age is his superpower’

Multiple Democrats and mainstream media figures strongly disagreed with Special Counsel Robert Hur’s report on President Biden and his “poor memory,” insisting that the world leader is “on his game.”

Democrats like Rep. Dan Goldman, D-N.Y., Rep. Debbie Dingell, D-Mich., and prominent journalists like former CNN reporter John Harwood insisted that Biden is one of the “sharpest” people they’ve dealt with and is more than capable of handling his job as president.

He’s “on his game,” Dingell insisted in a recent cable news interview.

BIDEN TORCHED FOR CLAIMING THAT HE RECENTLY MET WITH DEAD FORMER PRESIDENT OF FRANCE: ‘NOT A HEALTHY SIGN’

They pushed this idea even though a major portion of American voters believe the president’s age and mental acuity are in question.

The talking points in defense of Biden’s mental competence started up after Hur released a report, Thursday, on his investigation into Biden’s alleged mishandling of classified documents while he was a private citizen.

Hur noted that there was evidence that Biden did illegally handle documents, but declined to recommend criminal charges against the leader, in part due to the special counsel team’s belief that a future jury would see Biden’s “poor memory” as compromising his ability to willfully commit the crime.

Biden’s press conference on Thursday – his attempt to assuage concerns about his acuity that spiked after Hur’s report – spun the chatter about the findings into a frenzy. The president appeared defensive and combative towards reporters, he disputed Hur’s findings, and even confused the presidents of Mexico and Egypt in a now-viral gaffe.

The press conference prompted even pro-Biden talking heads to admit that his age and mental fitness are a liability and that both Hur’s characterization and Biden’s rejection of it were “terrible” for the Democratic Party, especially as the 2024 election begins heating up.

However, others doubled down, defending Biden’s intelligence. In response to CNN anchor Jake Tapper’s questions about several of Biden’s recent gaffes in context of the Hur report, Goldman went to bat for Biden.

He said, “I was in Israel on Oct. 7, as you know, and President Biden was nice enough to call me. And I can tell you, this was the day before that interview, I can tell you he was sharper than anyone I’ve spoken to about a very complex geopolitical urgent issue with the Hamas terrorist attack. And it indicated to me that he had spoken to all of the relevant leaders in all of these different countries.”

“His mastery and command of a complicated geopolitical situation was just impeccable and so, I don’t know what happened in there,” Goldman added, mentioning his confusion over Hur’s investigation.

Rep. Dingell blasted the hits to Biden’s mental sharpness in a CNN segment on Friday afternoon. The lawmaker told anchor Brianna Keilar, “But I know what I’m talking about. I know Joe Biden. I was in Michigan with him last week and we were talking issues, all kinds of issues. Issues that matter.”

Dingell gesticulated forcefully as she continued, saying, “And I’ll tell you, we were talking about the Mid-East and my Arab Americans, and we had some of the bluntest – and I mean blunt – conversations.”

“This is a man that’s on his game,” she concluded.

FLASHBACK: DEMS RAN DEFENSE ON BIDEN’S AGE BEFORE SPECIAL COUNSEL PUT DAMNING SPOTLIGHT ON HIS ‘POOR MEMORY’

Harwood, a former White House correspondent, refused to admit that Biden’s mental acuity was declining as Hur suggested. After the report dropped, Harwood reposted an interview he did with Biden nearly two weeks ago to X to prove the president is fine.

Referencing the former FBI Director James Comey’s handling of Hillary Clinton’s email scandal, Harwood wrote, “Hur did his version of Comey’s ‘I have no case but need to slap ‘em around a little’ routine. As for Biden’s mental fitness, I talked to him one-on-one at the White House 10 days before Hur did. Here’s the video; judge for yourself.”

After seeing Biden’s Egypt/Mexico flub, Harwood also insisted to his more than half-a-million followers on X that Biden “can do the job.”

In a subsequent tweet, he wrote, “Biden’s press conference showed the same thing his performance in office has shown for 3 years: he can do the job,” he wrote, adding, “Mexico for Egypt meant nothing, but the GOP political apparatus is a bad-faith enterprise and mainstream press has been knocked silly by financial/political pressure.”

Bloomberg columnist and podcast host Matthew Yglesias defended Biden on X as well. He shared a clip from Biden’s press conference in response to the Hur report and wrote, “He seems totally fine and I think needs to do more press.”

On MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” Friday morning, former Biden 2020 campaign official Adrienne Elrod responded to Hur, saying that Biden is “perfectly capable” and “perfectly competent.”

She continued: “You don’t put 14.2 million jobs on the card – which he’s done as president – if you don’t have the strong mental acuity to do it. You don’t pass four major economic bills – two of those bipartisan – you don’t put the first Black woman on the Supreme Court. The list goes on and on in terms of President Biden’s accomplishments. You don’t manage a complex situation in the Middle East if you don’t have your strong mental acuity.”

American environmentalist and journalist Bill McKibben published a column in the L.A. Times early Friday morning – just hours after Biden’s presser – in which he flipped the script on the narrative regarding Biden’s age.

The piece, titled, “Age matters. Which is why Biden’s age is his superpower,” argued that Biden’s age denotes the wisdom and experience that has made him such a successful president.

McKibben wrote, “Joe Biden is old. Like each of us, he comes from a particular place in history, in his case the LBJ years. And that’s one big reason why his first term has been so full of accomplishments: His age, often cited as the greatest obstacle to his reelection, is actually his superpower.”

He added, “Age matters. My cohort agrees. Why did Biden believe he could do what he did in his first term? Because he’d seen it done. Let’s hope the politicians of the future are watching his successes closely.”

Marie Osmond took legal action to keep away Bee Gees’ brother and singer Andy Gibb

Marie Osmond took drastic measures to end her relationship with singer and Bee Gees’ brother Andy Gibb.

In a new biography, “The Story of the Bee Gees: Children of the World,” author Bob Stanley discusses Gibb’s romance with Osmond during the height of the “Shadow Dancing” singer’s drug addiction.

“He was doing tons of drugs, and she didn’t even drink Coca-Cola,” record producer Albhy Galuten stated in the book.

“The Osmond family turned him away,” Stanley wrote, adding that “Marie took legal action to stop him calling.”

Osmond previously spoke about their relationship on “The Talk” in 2019 and said they’d known each other a couple of years and were dating when one night Gibb began calling her repeatedly.

“I could’ve probably done it better, but I just said, ‘We’re done,’” she said. “We hung up, and I felt really bad because it was something that I probably wanted to do in person, but it was just enough. And it was breaking my heart to see what he was doing to himself.”

Gibb later told Osmond that moment was a “wake-up call.” He went on to date “Dallas” star Victoria Principal. Their relationship ended when Principal forced Gibb to choose her or drugs and alcohol, according Stanley’s book.

MARIE OSMOND IS LEAVING ‘THE TALK’ AFTER ONE YEAR

Speaking on “The Talk,” Osmond said Gibb told her his breakup with Principal was “a really good thing because I saw where my life was heading, and I changed it.”

“Unfortunately, his heart gave out on him,” Osmond said.

According to Stanley, many of Gibb’s relationships became strained due to his drug use, including those with his famous brothers and bandmates. His voice suffered as well.

“Andy’s voice had been wrecked by cocaine and Quaaludes,” Stanley wrote.”It cost him lucrative work.”

Originally from Sydney, Australia, Gibb was the younger brother of Robin, Barry and Maurice Gibb, the Bee Gees. He was still a child when the band began releasing music.

After a tumultuous journey with drug addiction, Gibb became sober in 1987. However, he ran into financial problems and was deep in debt.

“As early as 1982, he had been selling his belongings to make ends meet, flogging his jewelry for cash on Sunset Boulevard,” Stanley wrote.

Relatives of notorious mob boss charged with assault after wild fight at high school game

The daughter-in-law and granddaughter of infamous mob boss John Gotti were charged with assault on Friday, stemming from a brawl at a boys’ high school basketball game on Long Island.

She said she confronted both Kimberly and Gianna, asking them to stop, but then, they both allegedly punched her.

“At that point, I felt my hair being pulled and felt my wig come off, which was held on by three clips and Velcro,” the victim said in her complaint, via Newsday. “I allowed my head to go back because I felt as if my scalp was going to be ripped off, and I observed the lady in the gray jacket pulling my hair.”

The victim suffered from “substantial pain to her scalp and bruises to both sides of her face.”

John Gotti Jr. said the woman “assaulted my wife first,” and the Gottis’ attorney, Gerard Michael Mattone, claimed the woman had made fun of Kimberly’s son.

“This lady just went wild. She was uncontrollable,” Mallon said, via the New York Post. “Security could not throw her out, and then when she was finally thrown out, she kept coming back into the gymnasium to start more trouble with the Gotti family.”

“It’s just unfortunate that, you know, you run into a person that’s a little bit of a maniac that has just zero respect for children and punches my client in the face,” Mattone added. “Because the Gottis don’t press charges, my client and her daughter wound up getting arrested. And that’s OK. Because we’ll find it [out] in court.”

Southwest customers vent over airline’s new seat design: ‘Is there an option to stand?’

Southwest Airlines is facing backlash on social media for an updated seat design that’s slated to debut on its fleet next year.

It’s been less than a week since the airline announced the new Recaro seats and some customers have already issued concerns on social media, likening the seats, in one case, to “lawn chairs.”

The new seats are part of a slate of changes the carrier made to the interior of the cabin.

They were designed specifically to include a “multi-adjustable headrest cushion for enhanced head and neck support,” according to Southwest.

The carrier added that the design provides “ultimate comfort while maximizing seat width and overall support.”

SOUTHWEST AIRLINES REACHES $140M SETTLEMENT WITH DOT FOR 2022 HOLIDAY DEBACLE

They are part of the carrier’s updated cabin interior, which it says was designed “based on extensive research covering Customer and Employee perceptions of color, comfort, and their aspirations for the overall onboard experience.”

The carrier also said it conducted customer research and product testing in order to select the global supplier of the aircraft seats.

However, customers, who have only seen images of the seats on social media, are upset over the change.

The company’s TikTok video displaying the new design has already garnered nearly 15,000 comments, with many complaining the seats look uncomfortable and others saying they are switching to another airline.

SOUTHWEST AIRLINES, PILOT UNION REACH TENTATIVE AGREEMENT ON NEW CONTRACT

“What I’m seeing is hardrock seats,” one user chimed in.

One user asked if there was “an option to just stand,” while another said they’d prefer to walk.

Meanwhile, many users said they would be booking with Delta Air Lines instead.

One person commented, “You just earned yourself a Delta customer,” while another user said they “aggressively” booked a Delta flight after seeing the video.

Following the backlash, the carrier noted that the video on social media is not an exact representation of the seats.

The seats maintain the average seat width and pitch on Southwest Boeing 737 Max 8 and -800 aircraft, and exceed the width currently available on the -700 series aircraft.

The seat itself has a custom ergonomic cushion that has more padding on certain areas of the headrest, backrest and bottom cushion, according to Southwest.
