De Niro heckled on social media over ‘disaster’ presser for Biden

Social media users on the right mocked the Biden campaign after it held a chaotic press conference on Tuesday outside the Manhattan courthouse holding former President Trump’s criminal trial.

The press conference was headlined by liberal actor Robert De Niro, who stars in a new ad campaign for President Biden. The actor claimed that Trump “wants to destroy” the city and the nation and eventually could destroy the entire world.

Conservatives compared the press conference, which was disrupted by hecklers and a car alarm, to an episode of the satirical HBO show, “Veep.”

“The Biden campaign’s efforts with Robert De Niro at the Trump hearings today had a very Veep feel to them,” Republican strategist Matt Whitlock wrote on X, putting a split screen video of credits of the show next to De Niro’s angry appearance.

LIVE UPDATES: CLOSING ARGUMENTS TO BEGIN IN NY V. TRUMP TRIAL AS JUDGE CONSIDERS DISMISSAL REQUEST

De Niro was heckled by Trump supporters as he was leaving the podium after giving his remarks. He even got into a shouting match with one man in a MAGA hat who called him a “washed up” actor.

Videos of the interaction spread like wildfire on X.

“De Niro being chased out of his own press conference is epic,” one Trump supporter wrote on X. Another added, “New Yorkers hate him! This didn’t go the way he thought it would.”

The Biden campaign event was mocked as a joke by many commentators on the right.

GOP strategist Greg Price called the strange scene “absolutely hilarious.”

“They decided it would be great idea to show that Biden isn’t involved in prosecuting his political opponent by having a press conference outside the NYC courtroom where they also got the date wrong on their media advisory,” he posted to X.

“They spent the whole thing getting drowned out by Trump supporters yelling ‘FJB’ and they had to answer questions such as ‘is Trump a threat to all these wars Biden has gotten us in?’ Overall a 10/10 morning,” he joked.

“It was beautiful!” Juanita Broaddrick added on X. “De Niro’s TDS has metastasized to his brain. He has dual citizenship in Italy. He can move there after November.”

“Robert De Niro convinced a total of 0 people to vote for Biden today,” Trending Politics co-owner Collin Rugg claimed.

“This morning’s press conference was a disaster for everyone involved. Terrible look for Democrats,” another conservative account posted.

The Trump campaign held a separate press conference Tuesday, following the Biden campaign’s presser with De Niro.

ROBERT DE NIRO’S ‘OVER-THE-TOP’ TIRADE WAS A ‘STUPID MISTAKE’ BY THE BIDEN CAMPAIGN: KARL ROVE

Trump campaign senior adviser Steven Cheung called the Biden camp’s press conference “election interference of the highest order.”

“Crooked Joe Biden and his campaign are in complete freakout mode,” he added.

De Niro was joined by the Biden campaign’s communications director, Michael Tyler, who called Trump a “chaos agent,” as well D.C. Metropolitan Police Department Officer Michael Fanone and former Capitol Police Officer Harry Dunn, who were both present at the Capitol during the Jan. 6 riot.

They have been deeply critical of Trump’s conduct around the riot and said he’s unfit to return to office.

Maher slams actress for saying current rise in antisemitism comes from the right

Comedian Bill Maher clashed with Jewish actress and comedian Sandra Bernhard over whether the current rise in antisemitism comes mostly from the left or the right in the United States.

Bernhard, who discussed the topic with Maher during a recent episode of his “Club Random” podcast, argued that antisemitism has been spreading thanks to conservatives.

“The left-wing is even worse,” Maher said, rejecting the claim and noting that its obsession with race and identity politics has fueled the anti-Jewish hate spreading on American college campuses.

The debate began with Bernhard talking about her Jewish heritage and how her grandparents fled to America from a pogrom in Russia. She noted that despite everyone being “up in arms” about being Jewish in the wake of the Oct. 7 terror attacks, she hasn’t felt persecuted.

BILL MAHER ERUPTS ON ANTI-ISRAEL PROTESTERS SIDING WITH HAMAS, IRAN: ‘THEY’RE BEING HUGE A–HOLES’

“I like being Jewish. I go to Shabbat, I do my thing. But everybody’s suddenly like, ‘I’m Jewish, and I’m being [persecuted].‘ I don’t feel persecuted,” she said.

Maher, an atheist whose mother was Jewish, acknowledged her perspective but added, “There is an antisemitism afoot in this country which we haven’t had in a very long time.”

“I tell you where it comes from, it comes from the right-wing, the extreme –,” she said before Maher interjected.

“No, it doesn’t,” Maher said. “The right-wing has the ‘Jews will not replace us’ nonsense. The left-wing is even worse.”

“What? How so?” she asked.

Maher responded, “That is coming down from elite colleges who see everything only through a racial lens. They are stupid. They don’t know history. They think everything is about colonizers and racists, and how awful America is.”

He continued, “And America has done some bad things but to drag Israel into this as the stand-in for every bad thing White people ever did – this is not any more complicated to most of these college kids than the Palestinians are brown and poor and the Israelis are rich and White.”

After mentioning how Israelis are being branded as colonizers, he said, “None of this jives with the facts.”

EGYPTIANS, IDF EXCHANGE GUNFIRE AT RAFAH BORDER CROSSING: REPORTS

Bernhard didn’t push back, but moved on to criticize Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

“But can we get on the same page and agree that Benjamin Netanyahu is a s— disturber and needs to be yanked out of Israel? He is not good for Israel. He is not good for Jews. He has also contributed to the global mistrust – it shouldn’t be Jews, it’s Israelis,” she said. “He is solidly to blame for everything that’s happening right now.”

“He is so not to blame for everything that’s happening. That’s the fault of the Palestinian people and the religion of Islam, which gets lost in all of this,” Maher responded.

Bernhard expressed confusion over that point, prompting Maher to add, “Mostly to blame is Hamas.”

He continued, “Right now is happening because for years Hamas took aid money and instead of buying food with it and building buildings and hospitals, they bought bombs and made tunnels.”

Hinting at the Israeli leader, the guest said, “Guess who supported Hamas?”

“Correct. Yes, you’re right. For strategic reasons, which probably were, in retrospect, not wrong. But it wasn’t like Netanyahu was working against the interests – in his mind – of his own people,” Maher said.

Bernhard shot back, “He is working in the interest of only one person, himself, because he doesn’t want to go to prison.”

“I don’t believe that either,” Maher replied, although he predicted Netanyahu will most likely be out of office soon.

US state named shark attack capital of the world after 16 recorded incidents last year

Florida — specifically Volusia County — is the shark capital of the world.

The Florida Museum of Natural History’s International Shark Attack File found the most unprovoked shark attacks in the world in the Sunshine State, specifically in Volusia County, where there have been 351 attacks since 1882.

Brevard County follows with 158 attacks, then Palm Beach with 83.

SHARKS: 12 INTERESTING FACTS ABOUT THE MARINE FISH

Unprovoked bites “are defined as incidents in which a bite on a live human occurs in the shark’s natural habitat with no human provocation of the shark,” according to the Florida Museum.

Most shark attacks have happened in September since 1926, according to the report.

July, August and October are also among the most common months for attacks in Florida to occur.

In 2023, there were 36 confirmed unprovoked attacks in the U.S., down from the 41 recorded in 2022, according to the report.

Australia had the second-most attacks in the world last year with 15.

In the U.S., after Florida, which had 16 total shark bites recorded, was Hawaii, which had eight unprovoked bites in 2023.

New York had four, North Carolina had three, California and South Carolina both had two and New Jersey had one.

Most of those who fell victim to a shark bite last year were either surfing or participating in board sports, according to the new report

Surfing/board sports made up 42% of the attacks in 2023.

Here are some safety measures outlined by the Florida Museum of National History.

  • Swim with a buddy
  • Don’t stray too far from shore
  • Avoid swimming at dawn or dusk
  • Don’t swim in areas filled with schools of fish or where people are fishing

International fugitive wanted for murder is captured during routine traffic stop

Texas authorities on May 25 captured an international fugitive wanted for murder.

Splendora police, in coordination with federal authorities, arrested 21-year-old Leo Acosta Sanchez, who had been illegally living in the “state and country,” the Splendora Police Department said in a press release.

Sanchez “was known to travel between” Splendora and “her residence in Terrenos,” a residential community advertising cheap land for sale outside Houston.

Police officers caught up with Sanchez during a “routine patrol” and “identified the wanted individual behind the wheel of a vehicle and promptly called for backup.”

“Following the arrival of additional units, a traffic stop was conducted, leading to the immediate arrest of the driver, identified as Leo Acosta Sanchez,” Splendora police said in a press release.

Actor says ‘weaponization of justice system’ pushed him to vote for Trump

Dennis Quaid argued during a recent television interview that, rather than politics, it was the “weaponization of the justice system” and his policy record that ultimately convinced him to vote for former president Trump.

“People might call him an a–hole, but he’s my a–hole,” the Hollywood actor declared.

Quaid has been in Hollywood hits like “Traffic” (2000), “Dragonheart” (1996), and portrays President Ronald Reagan in the 2024 biopic, “Reagan,” which will premiere in August.

“I think I’m gonna vote for him in the next election,” the actor told host Piers Morgan of “Piers Morgan Uncensored” on Tuesday. “It just makes sense. I was ready not to vote for Trump, until what I saw is, more than politics, I see a weaponization of our justice system and a challenge to our Constitution.”

“Trump is the most investigated person, probably in the history of the world, and they haven’t been able to really get him on anything,” he added.

When asked by Morgan whether one has to like Trump to vote for him, Quaid replied that he cringed at some of Trump’s past rhetoric, “But as president… the only thing I liked about Trump was everything he did.”

“What he did with Korea, with Rocket Baby, the way he defeated ISIS in three weeks. You know, people don’t even remember it happened so fast. How he stood up for us overseas. The way he responded to China. He stands up to people and that’s what makes him a leader. Rather than, what I kind of compare it to, what was going on in Jimmy Carter’s administration, where we’re trying to be everybody’s friend and pal,” he said.

“And there’s some evil people and bad actors in this world and so, you know, people might call [Trump] an a–hole but he’s my a–hole,” Quaid said.

“I’ll tell you one true thing about him is that I really feel that he is working for the American people. That’s what he’s all about, and I do believe that to be true and sincere,” Quaid said.

As for his opinion on Biden, Quaid said, “I don’t feel he’s at the helm, I don’t feel he’s there… I feel that he says things to get votes, not that he truly believes them. And now I’m really gonna get some blowback, but that’s the way I feel.”

He went on to express his hope that Americans can come together across the political divide after the election, “It doesn’t have to be the end of the world, whoever is elected.”

Progressive Dem Tlaib calls Biden ‘enabler’ of genocide at conference linked to terrorists

“Squad” member Rep. Rashida Tlaib on Sunday blasted President Biden’s handling of Israel’s war against Hamas in Gaza, deriding him as an “enabler” of genocide while speaking at an event attended by at least one member of a designated terrorist organization and funded by an asset of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).

The event, the People’s Conference for Palestine was held over the weekend in Detroit, and featured, among other speakers, Wisam Rafeedie, an activist with ties to the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP), which the U.S. has designated a foreign terrorist organization

The conference was organized by a left-wing activist group called The People’s Forum, which has played a role in organizing several anti-Israel protests since Hamas’ attack on Oct. 7, when the terror group’s members killed at least 1,200 Israelis and took over 200 hostages from Southern Israel into Gaza.

The People’s Forum is part of several organizations that make up the “Singham Network” a global web of nonprofits, fiscal sponsors and alternative news sources tied to Neville Roy Singham, an American-born multimillionaire tech mogul based in Shanghai, who has been described as a “conduit” for CCP geopolitical influence.

Singham’s ties to the CCP were highlighted in a report from the Network Contagion Research Institute (NCRI) earlier this month.

In her speech, Tlaib accused President Biden of doing the bidding of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who she called a “murderous war criminal.”

“President Biden says what’s happening [in Gaza] is not a genocide. Where is your red line, President Biden? This is not even consistent with his own views on international law in the past where he’d sit there and said [Russian President Vladimir] Putin must be held accountable at the International Criminal Court.”

ISRAELI AIRSTRIKE ON RAFAH KILLS 2 TOP HAMAS COMMANDERS, DOZENS OF CIVILIANS

Tlaib slammed the president and her Democratic colleagues for their condemnation of anti-Israel campus protesters, who disrupted operations for weeks to protest their school’s ties to Israel.

“It is disgraceful that the Biden administration and my colleagues in Congress continue to smear them for protesting to save lives no matter faith or ethnicity. It is cowardly. But we’re not gonna forget in November, are we?” she declared.

Rep. Mike Lawler, R-N.Y., said Tlaib “should be removed from Congress.

“Associating with and speaking before groups that are funded by US designated terrorist organizations is disqualifying,” Lawler posted on X.

The iconic brick house featured in the Christmas classic “Home Alone” is officially for sale.

The home is located in Winnetka, Illinois, a suburb of Chicago. The current owners bought it in 2012 for $1.585 million, but now the asking price for the five-bedroom, six-bathroom house is listed at $5.25 million.

Fans of “Home Alone” will immediately recognize the redbrick Georgia-style exterior, and while several elements of the interior have stayed the same, several upgrades have been made over the years.

‘HOME ALONE’ AND ‘CROCODILE DUNDEE’ PENTHOUSES SELLING FOR $70 MILLION

Now, the home, brought to market by Coldwell Banker Realty’s Dawn McKenna Group, features “a new sun-drenched family room with sweeping 10-foot, four-inch ceilings and walls of French doors that open to the inviting backyard,” according to the listing.

The kitchen was also redone to add double islands, a hidden pantry and a built-in banquette.

One of the biggest upgrades the current owners made was to the basement. In the Macaulay Culkin-led film, the basement was dark and featured a menacing furnace. But now it holds both a fully equipped gym, including a space to play basketball with a true 3-point line, and a state-of-the-art home movie theater.

Originally built in 1921, the 9,126-square-foot home sits on just over half an acre of land. It’s a short walk from the home to the shores of Lake Michigan.

The owners, Tim and Trisha Johnson, spoke to The Wall Street Journal, and Trisha recalled that when the couple began looking for a home, she told her husband that she’d like to have something similar in style to the “Home Alone” house.

“At the time, neither of us knew it was in Illinois, let alone in one of the towns we were considering,” she told the outlet. “We found out that it was in Winnetka when our agent added it to our list of homes to see.”

She explained that when they purchased the property 12 years ago, some changes had already been made, and while they did a major renovation in 2018, she made it a point to leave the front door and central staircase the same.

“That was in the movie, and it’s classic,” she said. “We didn’t want to take that out or touch it in any way.”

Golf star retires at just 29: ‘A lot of people don’t know what we go through’

Lexi Thompson, one of the most famous female golfers in the world, has decided to call it a career when this season ends at the age of 29.

Thompson, a 15-time winner, announced Tuesday this would be her final season of professional golf.

Thompson said she has contemplated semi-retirement the last few years and cited mental health as one of the factors that contributed to her decision.

“I think we all have our struggles, especially out here,” she said Tuesday at the Women’s U.S. Open. “Unfortunately, in golf you lose more than you win, so it’s an ongoing battle to continue to put yourself out there in front of the cameras and continuing to work hard and maybe not seeing the results you want and getting criticized for it. So, it’s hard.

“I’ve struggled with it. I don’t think there’s somebody out here that hasn’t. It’s just a matter of how well you hide it, which is very sad.

“It can get lonely,” Thompson added, fighting back tears. “I just think, especially with what’s happened in golf, a lot of people don’t realize … what we go through as a professional athlete. I’ll be the last one to say ‘throw me a pity party.’ That’s the last thing I want. But we’re doing what we love. We’re trying the best every single day, and we’re not perfect. We’re human, words hurt and it’s hard to overcome sometimes …

GOLFER HARRY HIGGS DELIVERS POWERFUL SPEECH ABOUT GRAYSON MURRAY: ‘EVERYBODY HERE COULD BE THE DIFFERENCE’

“I think it’s a lot for everybody out here or for (people) in any professional sport. A lot of people don’t know what we go through, the amount of training and hard work that we put ourselves through. It’s a lot, and I think we deserve a lot more credit than we get.”

Thompson’s plea for mental health comes just three days after PGA golfer Grayson Murray died of suicide Saturday, less than 24 hours after withdrawing from the Charles Schwab Challenge due to what the PGA called an illness.

Thompson is playing her 18th U.S. Women’s Open before turning 30. She won the first of her 15 LPGA titles at age 16. She is known as much for the majors she’s lost as the one she captured at the Kraft Nabisco Championship in 2014 when she was 19.

Massive mammal washes up on West Coast beach — and no one knows why

A dead humpback whale was recently found at an Oregon beach, according to officials.

Oregon State Parks posted a picture of the deceased mammal on Facebook Monday. The beached whale was found at Nehalem Bay State Park in Tillamook County earlier that morning, and officials placed a sign that said “Do not disturb!”.

Officials described the whale as a “young male” and said that his body measures around 34 feet long. An adult humpback whale is usually 50 to 60 feet long.

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) and Oregon Parks and Recreation Department (OPRD) are working to determine why the whale died. The ORPD said that there was no “obvious cause of death.”

TWO WHALES WASH UP IN VIRGINIA BEACH WITHIN DAYS OF EACH OTHER: REPORT

“[There was] nothing to suggest any connection with the tar washing ashore on the Oregon Coast,” the statement read.

Oregon State Parks told Fox News Digital that the whale washed ashore close to a “snowy plover management area.”

“Oregon’s beaches are protected nesting grounds for a small shorebird called the western snowy plover,” the statement added. This means there is no access to the beach from the dry sand area where signs are posted and pets are not allowed.”

BABY RIGHT WHALE DIES AFTER SHIP COLLISION, FEWER THAN 360 REMAIN ALIVE

Officials will often use explosives to dispose of a beached whale, since the mammals take a long time to decompose. According to the University of Miami’s Shark Research and Conservation Program, whales can take over 50 years to decompose underwater. That process is sped up on land.

Occasionally, a whale can explode on its own if its body builds up enough gas while it is decomposing. In the Facebook post’s comments section, some locals expressed concern over whether the whale would be “blown up.”

“Don’t blow one up again!” one Facebook user wrote.

“Let’s hope they don’t blow this poor whale up!” another chimed in.

In 1970, Oregon officials infamously blew up a whale that was washed ashore in Florence, Oregon. Parts of the whale’s carcass ended up falling on onlookers and their cars.
