Trump team releases mocking ‘Inspiring Thoughts from Kamala Harris’ ad

Hours after Vice President Kamala Harris announced her intent to run for president, former President Trump’s team published an ad that ridiculed her past gaffes.

Trump senior advisor Dan Scavino, Jr. posted the ad on X with the title: “Inspiring Thoughts from Kamala Harris”.

The video lampoons the vice president for statements she’s made in the past that critics have interpreted as bizarre or oddly-phrased.

One of the quotes from Harris was: “The significance of the passage of time, right? The significance of the passage of time. So when you think about it, there is great significance to the passage of time…there is such great significance to the passage of time.”

Another Harris gaffe read: “It’s time for us to do what we have been doing, and that time is every day.”

“I can imagine what will be, unburdened by what has been,” is another Harris statement that the video quotes.

“I’m a classic Republican and he’s a classic Democrat; obviously, President Biden and I usually didn’t see eye-to-eye,” Romney wrote in a press release. “I opposed many of his initiatives. But we did find common ground on infrastructure, Ukraine, the Electoral Count Act, adding religious liberty protections to the marriage bill, gun safety measures, and chip manufacturing.

“Others will judge his presidency. However, having worked with him these past few years, I respect President Biden. Harris’ record could mean continuance of Biden’s border policies

The prospect of Vice President Harris becoming president could mean a continuance of President Biden’s policies surrounding the southern border.

In 2018, Harris was a guest on NBC’s “Meet the Press,” when she suggested the U.S. Immigrations and Customs Enforcement (ICE) should be eliminated, adding, “we probably need to think about starting over from scratch.”

The vice president has repeatedly expressed support to decriminalize illegal immigration, and during the primary campaign cycle in 2020, she raised her hand on stage during the MSNBC debate when moderators said to raise your hand if you support changing illegal entry to a civil offense rather than a criminal offense.

Under the Biden administration, the president assigned Harris to tackle the root causes of migration in the northern triangle countries of Honduras, Guatemala and El Salvador.

Also during Biden’s presidency, with Harris as his vice president, the number of illegal crossings
at the southern border were the highest ever recorded in 2021, 2022 and 2023.

Harris has only visited the border one time during her vice presidency, when she made a sanitized visit to El Paso, Texas, in June 2021.

Harris also pushed the false claim that horseback Border Patrol agents had “whipped” Haitian migrants in Del Rio in September 2021, saying the images reminded her of “slavery.” Neither she nor Biden have apologized to the agents for pushing the false narrative.

Speaker Mike Johnson, Republicans call on Biden’s resignation after he opts out of the 2024 race

Republican lawmakers are calling on President Biden to resign from office immediately after he announced he will not seek re-election in November.

Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., said in a statement, “If Joe Biden is not fit to run for President, he is not fit to serve as President. He must resign the office immediately. November 5 cannot arrive soon enough.”

“If the Democrat party has deemed Joe Biden unfit to run for re-election, he’s certainly unfit to control our nuclear codes,” House Majority Whip Tom Emmer, R-Minn., said minutes after the bombshell news broke. “Biden must step down from office immediately.”

House GOP Conference Chairwoman Elise Stefanik, R-N.Y., similarly said, “If Joe Biden can’t run for re-election, he is unable and unfit to serve as President of the United States. He must immediately resign. The Democrat Party is in absolute free fall for their blatantly corrupt and desperate attempt to cover up the fact that Joe Biden is unfit for office.”

“If Joe Biden is unfit to be the Democrat nominee for president, he’s unfit to be president for the rest of his term. For the good of the country, Joe Biden should resign immediately,” said Republican Study Committee Chair Kevin Hern, R-Okla.

Trump questions if Biden truly has COVID

Former President Donald Trump took to Truth Social to express skepticism that President Biden was truly isolating with COVID-19 after Biden announced he was dropping out of the 2024 race Sunday.

“Does anybody really believe that Crooked Joe had Covid? No, he wanted to get out ever since June 27th, the night of The Debate, where he was completely obliterated. That was the big moment in Joe Biden’s demise. That was the point in time when Joe was revealed for what he is, an incompetent man who should never have been President. Joe Biden is not fit to serve – He is destroying our Country,” Trump said Sunday.

In a subsequent post, Trump called Biden the “worst president in the history of the United States” while slamming the choice to broadcast the next debate on “Fake News ABC.”

“My debate with Crooked Joe Biden, the Worst President in the history of the United States, was slated to be broadcast on Fake News ABC, the home of George Slopadopolus, sometime in September. Now that Joe has, not surprisingly, has quit the race, I think the Debate, with whomever the Radical Left Democrats choose, should be held on FoxNews, rather than very biased ABC. Thank you! DJT,” Trump said.

“So, we are forced to spend time and money on fighting Crooked Joe Biden
, he polls badly after having a terrible debate, and quits the race,” he added later. “Now we have to start all over again. Shouldn’t the Republican Party be reimbursed for fraud in that everybody around Joe, including his doctors and the Fake News Media, knew he was not capable of running for, or being, President? Just askin’?”

Not only in the policies he passed, but in the individual lives he’s touched,” Biden said. “Over a life time I have witnessed him absorb the pain of countless everyday American who he’s given his personal phone number to, because he wanted them to call him when they were hurting.”

“I echo the good judgment he demonstrated in selecting Vice President Harris to lead this nation alongside him, and I am proud to follow his lead in support of her candidacy to succeed him as the Democratic Party’s 2024 nominee for President,” he added.

Obamas call Biden ‘one of America’s most consequential presidents’

Former President Barack Obama
in a new statement is calling President Biden “one of America’s most consequential presidents” hours after Biden announced he would not seek re-election and would endorse Vice President Kamala Harris to replace him.

“Joe Biden has been one of America’s most consequential presidents, as well as a dear friend and partner to me,” the former president and former first lady Michelle Obama said in a lengthy statement. “Today, we’ve also been reminded — again — that he’s a patriot of the highest order.”

“Sixteen years ago, when I began my search for a vice president, I knew about Joe’s remarkable career in public service. But what I came to admire even more was his character — his deep empathy and hard-earned resilience; his fundamental decency and belief that everyone counts,” he said.

Obama hailed Biden’s achievements in office.

“Since taking office, President Biden has displayed that character again and again. He helped end the pandemic, created millions of jobs, lowered the cost of prescription drugs, passed the first major piece of gun safety legislation in 30 years, made the biggest investment to address climate change in history, and fought to ensure the rights of working people to organize for fair wages and benefits,” he said. “Internationally, he restored America’s standing in the world, revitalized NATO, and mobilized the world to stand up against Russian aggression in Ukraine. More than that, President Biden pointed us away from the four years of chaos, falsehood, and division that had characterized Donald Trump’s administration.”

Obama said Biden’s “outstanding track record” gave President Biden every right to run for re-election and finish the job he started.”

“For him to look at the political landscape and decide that he should pass the torch to a new nominee is surely one of the toughest in his life,” he said. “But I know he wouldn’t make this decision unless he believed it was right for America. It’s a testament to Joe Biden’s love of country — and a historic example of a genuine public servant once again putting the interests of the American people ahead of his own that future generations of leaders will do well to follow.”

“We will be navigating uncharted waters in the days ahead. But I have extraordinary confidence that the leaders of our party will be able to create a process from which an outstanding nominee emerges. I believe that Joe Biden’s vision of a generous, prosperous, and united America that provides opportunity for everyone will be on full display at the Democratic Convention in August.”

“And I expect that every single one of us are prepared to carry that message of hope and progress forward into November and beyond. For now, Michelle and I just want to express our love and gratitude to Joe and Jill for leading us so ably and courageously during these perilous times — and for their commitment to the ideals of freedom and equality that this country was founded on.”

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis is accused Vice President Kamala Harris of being “complicit” in a coverup to deny that President Biden was incapable of serving as president — hours after Biden said he would not run for re-election.

Kamala Harris was complicit in a massive coverup to hide and deny the fact that Joe Biden was not capable of discharging the duties of the office,” he said in a statement.

“Joe Biden has been the worst President in my lifetime and Kamala Harris has been right there with him every step of the way. Over the last four years she co-signed Biden’s open border and green scam policies that drove up the cost of housing and groceries,” Vance said. “She owns all of these failures, and she lied for nearly four years about Biden’s mental capacity–saddling the nation with a president who can’t do the job.”

The comments come after Biden announced Sunday that he was dropping out of the 2024 race, endorsing Harris to replace him at the top of the ticket.

Harris thanks ‘selfless’ Biden, declares intent to ‘earn and win’ Dem nomination

Vice President Kamala Harris
issued a statement on Sunday thanking “selfless” President Biden for his leadership and praising him for stepping aside — while promising to beat former President Trump in November as the Democratic nominee.

“On behalf of the American people, I thank Joe Biden for his extraordinary leadership as President of the United States and for his decades of service to our country. His remarkable legacy of accomplishment is unmatched in modern American history, surpassing the legacy of many Presidents who have served two terms in office,“ she said.

“It is a profound honor to serve as his Vice President, and I am deeply grateful to the President, Dr. Biden, and the entire Biden family. I first came to know President Biden through his son Beau. We were friends from our days working together as Attorneys General of our home states. As we worked together, Beau would tell me stories about his Dad,” she said. “The kind of father—and the kind of man—he was. And the qualities Beau revered in his father are the same qualities, the same values, I have seen every single day in Joe’s leadership as President: His honesty and integrity. His big heart and commitment to his faith and his family. And his love of our country and the American people.“

“With this selfless and patriotic act, President Biden is doing what he has done throughout his life of service: putting the American people and our country above everything else.“

“I am honored to have the President’s endorsement and my intention is to earn and win this nomination. Over the past year, I have traveled across the country, talking with Americans about the clear choice in this momentous election. And that is what I will continue to do in the days and weeks ahead. I will do everything in my power to unite the Democratic Party—and unite our nation—to defeat Donald Trump and his extreme Project 2025 agenda,” she said.

“We have 107 days until Election Day. Together, we will fight. And together, we will win.”

“By any measure, he has advanced our founders charge to build a more perfect union and his own stated goal of restoring the soul of our nation,” the press release read. “We join millions of Americans in thanking President Biden for all he has accomplished, standing up for America time and again, with his North Star always being what’s best for the country.”

The couple added that they were “honored” to join Biden in endorsing Harris, and vowed they will do “whatever we can to support her.”

“We’ve lived through many ups and downs, but nothing has made us more worried for our country than the threat posed by a second Trump term,” the statement added. “He has promised to be a dictator on day one, and the recent ruling by his servile Supreme Court will only embolden him to further shred the Constitution.”

“Now is the time to support Kamala Harris and fight with everything we’ve got to elect her. America’s future depends on it.”

GOP senator says Biden ‘should not have the nuclear codes’

A Republican senator says that, in the wake of Biden’s announcement he is stepping down as the Democratic nominee, he should not be given access to the nuclear codes.

“If Joe Biden is unable to serve another term, then he must resign right now. If he’s unfit to campaign, he should not have the nuclear codes – it’s that simple,” Sen. Roger Marshall, R-Kansas, said.

President Biden announced on Sunday that he will suspend his 2024 re-election campaign amid mounting pressure from his Democratic colleagues on Capitol Hill, top donors and Hollywood stars after a disastrous debate performance last month.

The unprecedented announcement came as an increasing number of Democrat lawmakers had begun to publicly call for Biden to step aside and the party’s leadership reportedly was engaged in efforts to convince Biden, 81, he could not win in November’s general election against former President Trump, the 2024 GOP nominee who Biden defeated four years ago to win the White House.

Dems heap praise on Biden for decision to end 2024 campaign

POLITICS’Proud of our president’: Dems heap praise on Biden for decision to end 2024 campaignDemocrats praised President Biden for choosing to end his campaign for re-election on Sunday, calling him a patriot and thanking him for various accomplishments.

Democrat politicians lavished President Biden with praise and predictions of a great legacy following his announcement that he is ending his re-election bid just months before the November election.

“President Biden has been an extraordinary, history-making president — a leader who has fought hard for working people and delivered astonishing results for all Americans. He will go down in history as one of the most impactful and selfless presidents. Thank you, @JoeBiden,” Gov. Gavin Newsom, D-Calif., wrote on X just minutes following the revelation.

Newsom has been speculated as a potential Democratic candidate for president in 2024 for roughly a year, despite his own dismissals of the idea on several occasions. He has been one of Biden’s most high-profile surrogates on the campaign trail, continuing to promote Biden even after his poor debate performance last month.

Trump reacts to Biden dropping out of 2024 race: ‘Not fit to run’

Former President Donald Trump reacted to President Biden’s decision to drop out of the 2024 race on Sunday, vowing to “remedy the damage” done during the Biden administration.

“Crooked Joe Biden was not fit to run for President, and is certainly not fit to serve – And never was!” Trump said in a Truth Social post. “He only attained the position of President by lies, Fake News, and not leaving his Basement.”

The former president also accused Biden of being incompetent and criticized American media in his post.

“All those around him, including his Doctor and the Media, knew that he wasn’t capable of being President, and he wasn’t – And now, look what he’s done to our Country, with millions of people coming across our Border, totally unchecked and unvetted, many from prisons, mental institutions, and record numbers of terrorists,” Trump added.

“We will suffer greatly because of his presidency, but we will remedy the damage he has done very quickly. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!”

Blackburn says Biden ‘didn’t go far enough,’ should resign immediately

Sen. Marsha Blackburn, R-Tenn., reacted to the news that President Biden is stepping down by saying he should resign as president as well and not serve out the rest of his term.

Biden announced Sunday that he will serve the rest of his term as president, but we will not seek re-election.

“Finally, Joe Biden has realized what the rest of the American people and even his own party already knew—he is not only the wrong leader for America, but is wholly incapable of doing the job of President of the United States. But he didn’t go far enough. If Joe is too weak to stay in the race for the presidency, he should resign as our Commander-in-Chief immediately,” Blackburn said in a statement.

“Don’t be fooled: the Democrat Party is no better off today than they were yesterday. It doesn’t matter who is the new face of the ticket in November; it will still be the same old Biden-Harris policies that have made the lives of hardworking Americans more difficult,” she said.

“We cannot afford another four years of economic instability, chaos abroad, and crisis after crisis in our communities. That is why we must elect President Donald J. Trump
and JD Vance to reverse these terrible policies and restore American prosperity.”

Biden ends bid for second term in White House as he drops out of his 2024 rematch with Trump

Biden ends bid for second term in White House as he drops out of his 2024 rematch with TrumpPresident Biden, following a disastrous debate performance, announces he’s dropping out of the 2024 race, ending his bid against Donald Trump for a second term in the White House

President Biden announced Thursday that he will suspend his 2024 re-election campaign amid mounting pressure from his Democratic colleagues on Capitol Hill, top donors and Hollywood stars after a disastrous debate performance last month.

Biden was diagnosed with COVID-19 on Wednesday, a revelation that came on the heels of several TV interviews and campaign appearances in which the president insisted he was remaining in the race. But the interviews failed to reassure supporters and provided critics – including those on the left – with further evidence that Biden was no longer up to the job.

Biden defiantly charges ahead with election run despite speculation he would drop out this weekend

POLITICSBiden defiantly charges ahead with election run despite speculation he would drop out this weekend
Speculation mounted that President Biden would drop out of the 2024 race this weekend, but the president has defiantly brushed off allies’ calls and remained in the race.

President Biden has defiantly remained in the presidential race despite mounting calls from allies to drop out, and speculation that he would bow out as early as this weekend.

The Biden campaign has hit back against anonymous sources and speculation that Biden would end his campaign in the coming days, suggesting a pressure campaign was building to force Biden’s hand.

“There are a lot of anonymous sources out there this week telling y’all what is and isn’t happening on Team Biden-Harris. I’m here – on the record (!) – to give you an overview of what actually happened, what’s to come, and a few thoughts on the very bad things coming out of the Republican National Convention,” Biden campaign spokesman Kevin Muonoz said in a press release late last week.

The comment was released shortly following Newsmax’s Mark Halperin reporting that unnamed Democratic sources informed him that Biden will drop out of the race as soon as this weekend, that he would not endorse Vice President Kamala Harris to take the mantle, and would call for an open convention during the Democratic National Convention in Chicago next month.

Biden COVID symptoms ‘have improved significantly,’ doctor says

President Biden’s doctor said that his COVID-19 symptoms have “improved significantly.”

President Biden completed his eighth dose of PAXLOVID this morning, His symptoms improved significantly. His pulse, blood pressure, respiratory rate and temperature remain absolutely normal. His oxygen saturation continues to be excellent on room air,” Dr. Kevin O’Connor said in a letter published Sunday.

“His lungs remain clear. In yesterday’s update, I incorrectly stated that the SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) KP.2.3 variant accounted for approximately 33.3% of new cases in the United States. The correct percentage is approximately 12.8%.”

Biden was diagnosed with COVID-19 on Wednesday. He has since been self-isolating in his home Rehoboth Beach, Delaware.

“The President continues to tolerate treatment without any difficulty and will continue PAXLOVID as planned. He continues to perform all of his presidential duties.”

Biden campaign co-chair says president has made his decision on re-election run: ‘Win’

Biden campaign co-chair Cedric Richmond said Sunday that President Biden has already made his decision to remain in the 2024 race and is in it to “win.”

“No, he’s not,” Richmond said on CBS’ “Face the Nation” on Sunday when asked if Biden will drop out of the race.

“And he’s heard those concerns. And I want to be crystal clear. He’s made a decision. And that decision is to accept the nomination and run for reelection. Win reelection. And I think that there are those out there, that need to hear it again, that he made a decision he’s going to be the candidate.”

Democrats have increasingly called on Biden to drop out of the race as he prepares for the November rematch against former President Donald Trump. The calls to exit the race come after Biden displayed a disastrous debate performance against Trump last month, reigniting concerns over his mental fitness and age.

‘West Wing’ creator spins scenario to save Democrats: Nominate Mitt Romney

MEDIA’West Wing’ creator spins scenario to save Democrats: Nominate Mitt Romney to stop ‘dangerous imbecile’ Trump
“West Wing” creator Aaron Sorkin suggests Democrats nominate Sen. Mitt Romney to run against Donald Trump in an op-ed for the New York Times.

Aaron Sorkin, the creator of the ’90s NBC drama “West Wing,” suggested on Sunday that the Democratic Party nominate a Republican, Senator Mitt Romney, to stop former President Donald Trump.

Back in 2012, Sorkin lobbied Obama to repeatedly call Romney a liar at debates. “Nominating Mr. Romney would be putting our money where our mouth is: a clear and powerful demonstration that this election isn’t about what our elections are usually about, but about stopping a deranged man from taking power,” Sorkin touted in an op-ed for the New York Times, before noting other Democrats weren’t polling well against Trump either.

President Biden is facing mounting calls to drop out of the race following a rocky debate performance. A recent poll also found that 65% of Democrats want Biden to drop out.

“The problem in the real world is that there isn’t a Democrat who is polling significantly better than Mr. Biden. And quitting, as heroic as it may be in this case, doesn’t really put a lump in our throats,” he wrote.

Failed Dem Biden challenger encourages president to step aside

Failed 2024 Democratic candidate for the White House, Minnesota Rep. Dean Phillips, said he encourages President Biden to drop out of his re-election race, adding to the growing list of Democrats calling on the president to end his campaign.

“The president did call me in March, a very gracious conversation, and I did endorse him, and I still endorse him. But it is time to step aside and turn this over to a new generation. My endorsement stays until he makes that decision. I’m encouraging that,” Phillips said on CBS’ “Face the Nation” on Sunday morning.

Phillips is the 37th Democrat to publicly call on Biden to bow out of the race since last month.

“I ran because I saw a delusion. I saw a country that was in a very different place than our Democratic Party. Over 50% of Democrats at that time wanted a different candidate. And I was on a mission to expose the truth, provide an alternative, and do what I really saw in the numbers and through intuition was necessary. It didn’t work out, of course, but I was trying to create the conversation,” Phillips added in his interview.

Phillips bowed out of the presidential race in March, after months of noting that while he admired the president, Biden’s age weakened the chance of Democrats retaining control of the White House in 2024.

Phillips announced in November of last year that he would not seek re-election for his House seat, after throwing his hat in the presidential race. Phillips, who has been in the House since 2019, represents a strongly Democratic district and his all-in effort for the presidency was always a long shot.

Battleground state Dem Party chairs publish letter cementing their support for Biden’s re-election

A bevy of Democratic Party state chairs in key battleground states published a joint letter Sunday reaffirming their support of President Biden’s run for re-election.

“Democrats at all levels are running on a unified message of freedom, democracy, and aneconomy that works for working people. When the choice is clear, our candidates and ourmessage beat, hands down, Trump, Vance, and the MAGA threat of abortion bans, dictatorship, and giveaways to billionaires. But right now, many voters aren’t hearing that from our party,” the letter, which was circulated by the Biden campaign, stated.

The letter was signed by: Ben Wikler of Wisconsin, Lavora Barnes of Michigan, Sharif Street of Pennsylvania, Anderson Clayton of North Carolina, Nikema Williams of Georgia, Yolanda Bejarano of Arizona, and Daniele Monroe-Moreno of Nevada.

“We understand the anxiety. But the best antidote to political anxiety is taking action. You can’twring your hands when you’re rolling up your sleeves. When we all lend our voices tocontrasting the Democratic vision—from Biden-Harris straight down the ticket—with the MAGAnightmare, we win,” the state chairs continued.

The letter comes as calls from Democrats mount that Biden drop out of the 2024 presidential race and pass the torch to another Democrat to take on former President Donald Trump in November. The calls to drop out were born out of anxiety following Biden’s disastrous presidential debate last month, when his mental fitness and age came under further scrutiny.

Potential pressure from Obama to drop out of race could drive Biden to remain in election: Report

Former President Barack Obama potentially directly calling on President Biden to drop out of the 2024 race could drive him to remain in the election rematch against Trump, according to a new report.

Current and former Biden aides told Axios that the president still holds a grudge against Obama and Democrats for advising he not run for president in 2016, just months after his son Beau Biden died from brain cancer. The regret over not running that year has reportedly emboldened Biden to remain in the race despite calls from traditional allies to drop out.

The report noted that if Obama directly called on Biden to drop out of his 2024 run, it could push the president to become more determined to remain the nominee.

“Obama already used that chit in 2016 when his team lobbied him against running. You don’t get to do that more than once,” one former Biden aide told the outlet.

Vance doubles down Biden should resign if he bows out of race: ‘No middle ground’

Former President Donald Trump’s running mate in the 2024 election, JD Vance, doubled down that President Biden should resign from the White House is he bows out of the presidential race.

“If Joe Biden ends his reelection campaign, how can he justify remaining President? Not running for reelection would be a clear admission that President Trump was right all along about Biden not being mentally fit enough to serve as Commander-in-Chief,” Vance posted on X Sunday morning.

“There is no middle ground.”

The Ohio Republican senator was announced as Trump’s vice presidential pick last week, and had previously called on Biden to resign as president if he bows out of the race.

“Everyone calling on Joe Biden to *stop running* without also calling on him to resign the presidency is engaged in an absurd level of cynicism. If you can’t run, you can’t serve,” he wrote on Saturday.

Calls have mounted since June 27 for Biden to end his re-election run, following his disastrous debate performance that put his mental fitness and age under further scrutiny as the Democratic Party squares up for a rematch against Trump.

Biden pledges to ‘continue to speak out strongly for our democracy’ in new X post

President Biden took to X Sunday and vowed to keep speaking out for Democracy as calls for him to step down have intensified.

“I’ll continue to speak out strongly for our democracy, stand up for our Constitution and the rule of law, and call for action at the ballot box, not violence on our streets,” Biden said. “That’s how democracy should work.”

Biden has continued to face calls from fellow Democrats to drop out of the race, with Sen. Joe Manchin, D-WVa., arguing during an appearance on ABC News Sunday that it is time for Biden to “pass the torch to a new generation” of Democrats.

Pelosi avoids Biden controversy in NC speech, asks ‘Are you ready for a great Democratic victory?’

Former Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi joined a North Carolina Unity Dinner to galvanize Democrats ahead of the election, while bypassing mentioning President Biden and calls for him to drop out of the race.

“No wasted time, no underutilized resources, and no regrets the day after the election that we could have done more, are you ready for a great Democratic victory? I thought so!” she said at the dinner.

Pelosi was in North Carolina to rally support for the Democrats’ hopeful successor for Gov. Roy Cooper, Josh Stein.

The appearance comes as calls mount for Biden to drop out of the presidential race over mental fitness concerns, and worries the president could not defeat Trump in the November election.

Trump blows past Biden in June fundraising race, with July numbers expected to be worse for Dems

The Republican National Committee raised more than $66 million in June, far more than the Democratic National Committee’s $39 million in funds raised last month.

All in, the RNC reported a war chest of $102 million at the end of June, compared to the DNC’s $78 million, the Washington Post reported.

At the end of June, President Biden and former President Donald Trump held a debate that opened the floodgates to calls for Biden to drop out of the race due to his disastrous performance. Democrats said the Biden campaign pulled in millions following the debate despite the president’s performance and concerns he could defeat Trump in November.

Republicans, however, are anticipated to continue outraising Democrats in July, touting a three-month fundraising winning streak, pulling in a staggering $331 million during the April through June.

Biden has remained adamant he is remaining in the race despite a wave of Democrat allies increasingly calling on him to drop out of the race and speculation that Biden is considering his allies’ demands ahead of the Democratic National Convention.

Biden asking if Harris could win in 2024: report

President Biden is expressing new interest in whether Vice President Kamala Harris could defeat former President Trump in the 2024 election, according to a report from the New York Times.

While Biden and his staff have publicly insisted that he is staying in the race, the 81-year-old is reportedly now asking whether Harris could win. Several polls show Harris matching or even exceeding Biden’s performance against Trump as waves of Democrats call on Biden to withdraw.

“To some degree, the vice president is auditioning now for the job and they should help her lean in and I think her leaning in could be beneficial to bolstering Biden” whether he steps aside or not, former Harris aid Ashley Etienne told the Times.

Harris stands as the most obvious candidate to replace Biden thanks in large part to her presumed access to the Biden-Harris war chest should the president withdraw. Any other candidate would face an uncertain path to accessing the tens of millions of dollars donated throughout the race.

Wisconsin auto manufacturer warns Biden’s tax regulation plan will be a ‘huge barrier to innovation’

Family-owned auto parts manufacturer Husco is preparing for the worst if President Biden is re-elected in 2024.

Company President and CEO Austin Ramirez recently testified before Congress ahead of their plan to allow Trump-era tax cuts to expire, touting the importance of the nearly terminated policy.

“Only by preserving the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act can Congress ensure that uniquely American stories like Husco remain possible,” Ramirez said during congressional testimony this past April.

The matter is likely to be a source of contention during the general election, particularly with Trump pledging to make the tax cuts permanent if he is elected in November.

The expiration of the tax law on December 31, 2025 will mean many Americans will be forced to pay more in taxes unless certain provisions are extended or made permanent. While President Biden has not yet released a blueprint for how to address the upcoming tax cliff, he called for a number of tax hikes in his fiscal 2025 budget proposal.

“Taxes are a huge part. We’ve got to have competitive taxes. In the U.S., we’ve got the most regressive tax regime in the world relative to R&D,” Ramirez told Fox News’ Pete Hegseth.

The Husco CEO gave Hegseth a behind-the-scenes look into the company’s manufacturing headquarters in Waukesha, Wisconsin, as the Republican National Convention got underway in nearby Milwaukee.

The U.S.’s federal research and development (R&D) tax credit grants companies a reduction in tax liability for select domestic expenses.

“R&D and innovation is how we grow this economy, how we grow Husco. Today in the U.S., we get to expense 20% of our R&D expenses in China. They get to expense 200% of their R&D expenses. That creates a huge barrier to innovation and growth in a thriving American economy.”

Ramirez continued, arguing that renewing the tax cut policy would “absolutely” be beneficial to his business.

Schiff’s choice to ‘abandon’ Biden is act of ‘selfish desperation’ amid campaign fundraising woes

California Senate candidate Steve Garvey called the about-face by Rep. Adam Schiff, D-Calif., on President Biden’s re-election bid an act of “selfish desperation” after Schiff realized his Senate campaign had been outraised by more than $1 million.

“Adam Schiff’s recent act of selfish desperation to abandon his presidential nominee has caused a clear reaction from his supporters on his social media,” Garvey, the Republican candidate vying to fill the late Dianne Feinstein’s seat, told Fox News Digital. “It’s now clear to his supporters what has been clear to millions of Americans for years, that Adam Schiff only cares about Adam Schiff, and Californians deserve a senator that puts them above politics.”

Schiff called on Biden
to drop out of the 2024 race earlier this week, saying in a statement to Fox News Digital that a “second Trump presidency will undermine the very foundation of our democracy, and I have serious concerns about whether the President can defeat Donald Trump in November.”

Garvey remarked in a social media post this week that it was “not surprising” Schiff called on Biden to step aside “less than 24 hours after it was reported that our campaign out-raised Adam Schiff’s campaign by $1.2 million.”

Garvey said this is the first time in 14 years a Republican statewide candidate in California has surpassed the fundraising of a Democratic candidate.

“It’s understandable that they felt they had to take dramatic action when this news came out,” he added. “When Adam Schiff announced that he believes President Biden shouldn’t seek re-election, it dominated the news cycle for the day, helping in part to bury our fundraising success story.”

Between April 1 and June 30, Garvey reportedly raised $5.4 million to Schiff’s $4.1 million.

‘Erotica the Drag Queen’: Meet the new Biden campaign staffer leading comms in key swing state

FIRST ON FOX: A Democrat staffer, who recently announced on social media that he has joined the Biden-Harris campaign
as a deputy press secretary, works as a “drag queen” on weekends, according to his social media bio and social media posts reviewed by Fox News Digital

Eric Lipka, who most recently worked in Sen. Elizabeth Warren’s, D-Mass., office before joining the Biden campaign, said he was “thrilled to share” that he has “joined the Biden-Harris campaign as deputy press secretary for Pennsylvania!” in a X post on Wednesday.

The post, which is now private, racked up hundreds of thousands of views over the last few days with several replies congratulating him, while others mocked him for joining the Biden campaign’s “sinking ship” and pointed out his bio that reads, “on weekends: drag queen.” The popular Libs of TikTok social media account amplified Lipka’s draq queen gig with a follow-up post that has garnered 1.5 million views over the last few days.

Lipka, who goes by the drag queen names “Erotica,” “Erica Lipka,” and “Erotica the Drag Queen” on social media, has several social media accounts on X, Facebook, and Instagram, but most of them were private as of Friday and then all of them were locked down shortly after Fox News Digital reached out to the Biden campaign for comment on Saturday afternoon.

However, a Fox News Digital review found Lipka’s name tagged in dozens of public Facebook posts dating back to 2021 when he was still a college student at Georgetown University. The public Facebook posts were often promotions for upcoming drag brunches, drag shows, and other events featuring drag queens, including Lipka.

Earlier this year, he performed at Hampden Sydney College, a private Virginia liberal arts school for men, for their Unity Alliance Lavender Ball, an event that featured several drag queens. Another post from April 2024 lists Lipka as one of the drag queens participating in an “Elevate your brunch” drag event the following month.

In January 2024, Lipka was listed as one of the drag queens participating in an event called “Saint Saturday” in Richmond, Virginia.

Dozens of other posts over the last few years show him participating in drag shows in Reheboth Beach, multiple Maryland venues, Connecticut, and various LGBTQ-friendly venues across Washington, D.C. In an April 2023 Facebook post, Lipka is listed on a promotion flyer for an event called “Looney’s Pub presents Brunch Tunes” in College Park, Maryland.

“The girls that drag together, [eggplant emoji] bottoms down together,” drag queen Nubia Love-Jackson said in a 2022 Facebook post accompanied by a photo of Jackson and Lipka. Lipka replied, “babyyyyy u already know.”

“To: Biden family, friends, allies, staff,” it continued with the “Subject: It’s your responsibility.”

“In this moment, as he considers his future, President Biden should hear the truth from the people who have always had his back,” it said.

RFK Jr’s game-changing statement after Biden forced to end presidential re-election bid

Independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. said the contest for the White House is a “two-man race” and that only he can beat Donald Trump after President Biden‘s shocking withdrawal from a second-term bid.

Speaking Sunday at a hastily called press conference from his family’s storied compound in Hyannis Port, Massachusetts, Kennedy praised Biden while simultaneously blaming Democratic Party leaders for “hiding” his mental decline.

“I want to begin by commending President Biden for a career in public service: a long, long career and representing and serving our country and for his handling of the many difficulties and challenges, personal challenges and tragedies that he suffered during his life with so much admirable conduct and the empathy that he derives from those experiences,” Kennedy said.

Kennedy, who left the party his family once ruled after it blocked his bid to challenge Biden in primaries, said the Democratic National Committee created a mess by covering for Biden.

RFK JR INTERVIEW: TRUMP, BIDEN ‘BOTH RAVAGED AMERICAN DEMOCRACY AND THE REPUBLIC’

“The reaction of the DNC to that obvious condition was to hide it from the American public and to use their power over the Democratic Party nomination process to make sure that nobody could compete with President Biden in a way that would expose his deficiencies,” Kennedy argued.

Kennedy continued his campaign as an independent, and he has reached double-digits in some polls on a platform that decries “corporate capture,” the affordability crisis, and “forever wars,” according to his campaign website.

Kennedy also called out former President Trump as well as Vice President Harris, who appears poised to head the Democrat ticket.

“President Trump has a connection to the American people, a populist connection,” said Kennedy. “But in many ways, it’s the same fraudulent connection that we saw with the DNC over the past year, concealing a real purpose of their objective, which was to give us a president that … represents corporate interests rather than the interests of the American public.”

WHAT COMES NEXT FOR DEMOCRATS AFTER BIDEN’S CAMPAIGN SUSPENSION?

“If the Democrats do what I suspect they’re going to do, which is to anoint Kamala Harris, a vice president who is monumentally unpopular within her own party … they’re doing it because it’s the easiest way to hold on to the money,” Kennedy said.

Kennedy said he would consider accepting the Democrat nomination if were it offered to him.

“I would certainly listen to the party elders if they came to me, I would discuss something with them,” said Kennedy. “I’m the only presidential candidate who can beat Donald Trump, and if I were them, I would do that, and I would certainly listen to their proposals.”

“I wouldn’t be the front-runner, because by the time I left the Democratic Party, it was really clear that, and this is the only reason I left that day, that the rules have been rigged to prevent me from winning,” Kennedy said. “So, I would be in the same position as [presidential candidates] Dean Phillips today or Marianne Williamson, which is, you know, sidelined.”

Kennedy added, “I am very content running where I am, and I believe I can win this election. I believe at this point it’s a two-man race or two-person race. Let me put it that way. And, you know, and that I’m in the best position to win.”

A Fox News Poll from July showed Kennedy receiving 10% of the general electoral vote in a three-way race with Trump and Biden.

Secret Service director reacts to independent review of Trump assassination plot

U.S. Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle expressed her support for an independent security review of last week’s assassination plot against former President Donald Trump.

“We are eager to cooperate with the independent security review of the U.S. Secret Service’s action related to the July 13 assassination attempt of former President Trump in Butler,” Cheatle wrote in a Sunday press release. “I look forward to the panel examining what happened and providing recommendations to help ensure it will never happen again.”

Cheatle wrote that the agency is “continuing to take steps to review [their] actions internally” and “remain[s] committed to working quickly and transparently with other investigations, including those by Congress, FBI and the Department of Homeland Security Office of Inspector General.”

TRUMP SHOOTING: TIMELINE OF ASSASSINATION ATTEMPT RAISES QUESTIONS ABOUT HOW GUNMAN EVADED SECURITY

“The U.S. Secret Service has a no-fail mission, and I will take every necessary step to ensure the safety and security of our protectees – that the U.S. Secret Service emerges from this stronger.”

The independent review will be composed of four people: former President George W. Bush’s Homeland security adviser Frances Townsend; former Bush administration federal judge Mark Filip; former Maryland State Police superintendent David Mitchell; and former DHS secretary Janet Napolitano.

The group will have 45 days to review the policies and procedures of the Secret Service before and after the assassination attempt, carried out by 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks.

Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas said that additional experts may be added to the panel in the coming days.

SECRET SERVICE EXPLANATION CONTINUE TO EVOLVE ONE WEEK AFTER ATTEMPTED ASSASSINATION

“All Americans share a concern about the safety of our public officials,” members of the panel said in a joint statement. “We formed this bipartisan group to quickly identify improvements the U.S. Secret Service can implement to enhance their work. We must all work together to ensure events like July 13 do not happen again.”

Business leaders on the right and left react as Biden ends presidential campaign

President Biden’s announcement on Sunday that he will not accept the Democratic Party’s nomination for the presidency in the 2024 election spurred quick reaction from several major business leaders and trade groups.

“It has been the greatest honor of my life to serve as your President,” Biden wrote. “And while it has been my intention to seek reelection, I believe it is in the interest of my party and the country for me to stand down and to focus solely on fulfilling my duties as President for the remainder of my term.”

In a second post on X addressed to Democrats, Biden offered his support for Vice President Harris to be the party’s nominee. He wrote that picking Harris was his “very first decision as the party’s nominee in 2020” and “it’s been the best decision I’ve made.”

“Today I want to offer my full support for Kamala to be the nominee of our party this year. Democrats – it’s time to come together and beat Trump. Let’s do this,” Biden added in a call for party unity after his withdrawal from the nomination.

BIDEN ENDS BID FOR 2ND TERM IN WHITE HOUSE AS HE DROPS OUT OF 2024 REMATCH WITH TRUMP

Here’s a look at how some prominent business figures have responded to President Biden’s withdrawal as the Democratic Party nominee for the 2024 election.

Elon Musk

Billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk, who publicly endorsed former President Trump after he survived an attempted assassination last week, said in a post on X that he will continue to support the Republican ticket despite Biden dropping out of the race.

“My smartest friends, including those living in the San Francisco Bay Area who have been lifelong Dems, are excited about Trump/Vance,” Musk wrote on X. “I believe in an America that maximizes individual freedom and merit. That used to be the Democratic Party, but now the pendulum has swung to the Republican Party.”

Musk also highlighted a report that Biden White House aides found out about the president withdrawing from the election on X, the platform he bought more than a year and a half ago.

Reid Hoffman

Billionaire LinkedIn co-founder Reid Hoffman – a fierce critic of former President Trump and Democratic megadonor – wrote on X that Biden “is a leader who acts with the best interests of America in mind” and called his withdrawal from the election “one of the most selfless acts we’ve seen from a politician in modern American history.”

He also endorsed Vice President Harris as being “the right person at the right time” to serve as the Democratic Party’s nominee in November.

“The Democrats are the party of policy, progress, and action. When presented with the choice between Kamala Harris and Donald Trump, I believe in the American people to make the right decision for our country. The Biden-Harris administration has put this country on the right track. It’s time for us to unite,” Hoffman wrote. “I wholeheartedly support Kamala Harris and her candidacy for President of the United States in our fight for democracy in November.”

Bill Ackman

Billionaire hedge fund manager Bill Ackman, who recently endorsed former President Trump’s campaign, said on X that Democrats will have Harris move to the top of the ticket because not doing so would suggest she wasn’t qualified to be picked by Biden as vice president.

“If @KamalaHarris is not the nominee, it would be an acknowledgment that she was never qualified to be vice president,” Ackman wrote on X. “@KamalaHarris will therefore be the nominee.”

Reed Hastings

Billionaire Netflix co-founder and executive chair Reed Hastings called for Biden to withdraw from the race after the first presidential debate and signaled that delegates heading to the Democrat convention in Chicago in nearly a month should find a candidate to replace Biden at the top of the ticket who can win swing states.

“Dem delegates need to pick a swing state winner,” Hastings wrote on X.

Mark Cuban

Entrepreneur Mark Cuban, who has been a staunch critic of former President Trump, wrote in a post on X that “Father time is undefeated.”

Cuban recently expressed an openness to Democrats replacing Biden as the nominee after his debate performance.

In March, Cuban told Bloomberg that if there was a Trump-Biden rematch and Biden was “being given last rites, I would still vote for Joe Biden.” He recently called Biden’s debate performance “awful” and said he appeared “feeble,” which prompted him to express an openness to replacing Biden as the party’s nominee.

Andrew Yang

Andrew Yang, an entrepreneur who sought the Democrat presidential nomination in 2020 and has since launched the Forward Party, wrote on X, “Remarkable leadership shown by Joe Biden. Now it falls to the DNC to show equal leadership by having an open process to determine the best candidate(s) to take on Trump – Vance in November. The goal should be simple – to win.”

U.S. Chamber of Commerce

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce, which is the largest trade group for businesses in the U.S., released a statement after Biden’s announcement.

“We commend and thank President Biden for his legacy of service to our country and extend him our best wishes,” the group wrote. “The U.S. Chamber of Commerce looks forward to continuing to engage with leaders across the political spectrum to forge solutions and advance policies that will make the American Dream a reality for all.”

‘West Wing’ creator suggests surprising ticket he thinks can save the Democrats

DO THESE POTENTIAL BIDEN REPLACEMENTS HAVE WHAT IT TAKES TO BEAT TRUMP?

Sorkin suggested that “Democrats nominating a Republican” could be the “healing event” everyone wanted after the assassination attempt against Trump.

He also imagined former President Obama “full-throatedly endorsing his old rival” at the Democratic convention.

“And Mr. Romney could make the case that the Democrats are putting country before party in ways that the MAGA movement will not, and announce his bipartisan cabinet picks at the convention as well,” he wrote.

“The writing staff would tell me I was about to jump the shark, that this is a ‘West Wing’ fantasy that would never, ever happen. But as Bradley Whitford used to say, ‘Isn’t the biggest fantasy on television a mafia boss in therapy?’ The Democrats need to break the glass and this is a break-glass plan, but it’s more than that. It’s a grand gesture. A sacrifice. It would put a lump in our throats,” he continued.

Comparing the fictional opponent to his own TV president, “Jed Bartlet” in “West Wing,” played by Martin Sheen, Sorkin wondered, “What if Bartlet’s opponent had been a dangerous imbecile with an observable psychiatric disorder who related to his supporters on a fourth-grade level and treated the law as something for suckers and poor people? And was a hero to white supremacists?”

Sorkin, in 2012, authored a kind of fan fiction, via NYT opinion columnist Maureen Dowd, that imagined the fictional “West Wing” president, Jed Bartlet, coaching then-President Obama on his debate performance against Romney. Speaking of the man he now wants Democrats to nominate, Sorkin lobbied Obama to say to Romney: “You’re lying, Governor.”

Conservatives took issue with the idea on X, with some pointing out how the Democratic Party treated Romney when he ran in 2012.

One pointed out that Biden, who was vice president at the time, told a crowd at a rally in Virginia that Romney would “put y’all back in chains.”

Romney, a strong critic of the former president, has not thrown his support behind him.

“With President Trump, it’s a matter of personal character,” he said in June. “I draw a line and say when someone has been actually found to have been sexually assaulted, that’s something I just won’t cross over in the person I wouldn’t want to have as President of the United States.”

MLB team sparks controversy after appearing to pay tribute to Trump in celebration

St. Louis Cardinals designated hitter Alec Burleson hit a 435-foot solo home run to contribute to the team’s 6-2 win over the Atlanta Braves, but it was his celebration that caught the eyes of baseball fans.

As Burleson rounded the bases, he and his teammates were seen putting a fist up and covering their right ear. Burleson did the move as he rounded third base, and several of his teammates in the dugout followed suit. It was Burleson’s 18th home run of the season.

Baseball fans on social media wondered whether the celebration was inspired by former President Trump and his strength after he was wounded in an assassination attempt during a campaign rally in Pennsylvania last week.

Cardinals veteran Matt Carpenter told the St. Louis Post-Dispatch that the celebration was actually a call back to Burleson’s college days when he was a rapper nicknamed Biscuit. The hand over the ear was allegedly supposed to be invisible headphones.

“Definitely not a political statement, that is off base,” Carpenter said.

Editorial board issues scathing piece after Biden forced to drop from race but remains in office

The National Review editorial board called on President Biden to resign from office in a scathing editorial on Sunday after he announced he would not seek re-election in November.

“Biden should take the next logical step and resign the presidency,” the editorial board wrote. “It’s possible to imagine a president not being able to campaign but still being capable of carrying out his official duties — say, if he had a serious physical impairment. And it is even possible to imagine a president who could serve for another six months but not another four and a half years. But such scenarios do not apply to Biden.”

BIDEN ENDS BID FOR SECOND TERM IN WHITE HOUSE AS HE DROPS OUT OF HIS 2024 REMATCH WITH TRUMP

The 81-year-old president has been under mounting pressure to drop out of the 2024 presidential race in the wake of his disastrous debate performance against former President Trump last month. His weak showing spurred concerns over whether he had the mental and physical stability to run a campaign and serve another four-year term.

Biden finally bowed to that pressure on Sunday, writing in a public letter, “It has been the greatest honor of my life to serve as your President. And while it has been my intention to seek reelection, I believe it is in the best interest of my party and the country for me to stand down and to focus solely on fulfilling my duties as President for the remainder of my term.”

The group of senior editors at the National Review cheered Biden for doing “the right thing in ending the charade of asking the American public to believe that he was capable of serving another four years as president.

“This was preposterous, and the public, as the polling has consistently shown for a long time, didn’t believe it,” they wrote.

WHAT COMES NEXT FOR DEMOCRATS AFTER BIDEN’S CAMPAIGN SUSPENSION?

While Biden “has obviously been confused in public…we are getting disturbing reports of his not recognizing friends and Democratic lawmakers in private,” they continue.

“Whatever the level of his decline at the moment, it is sure to get worse. The country deserves to have complete assurance that the president of the United States, whatever his party or ideology, is fully in possession of his faculties.”

The editorial board goes on to point blame at Biden, his family, Democratic leadership and the media for deliberately concealing Biden’s decline from the American public.

“Democrats wouldn’t be in this fix if Biden and his family had taken full accounting of his aging when they decided to run again last year and if the White House, Democratic leaders, the press, and various other insiders hadn’t undertaken an effort to cover up Biden’s state,” the column reads. “They all knew what was going on but figured that if they didn’t talk about it, somehow people wouldn’t notice. Of course, they did.

LIBERAL MEDIA MEMBERS JUBILANT AS BIDEN DROPS OUT, RACE AGAINST TRUMP RESETS: ‘WHAT A MAN, WHAT A PATRIOT’

“That cover-up was intended to deceive the American people, but its first victims were Democratic primary voters, who were denied a real choice or a real say in their party’s nominee. The serious potential candidates were sidelined by pressure to close ranks publicly behind Biden, who refused to debate the few, marginal primary opponents he attracted.”

The editors called on the Democratic Party to apologize to former presidential candidate Rep. Dean Phillips, who repeatedly warned about Biden’s current state but was dismissed for “saying the quiet part out loud.”

They continue, charging Democrats and the media who turned against Biden after his debate debacle of doing so, “not because they were conscience-stricken about previously lying about his condition, but because they got caught and feared losing.

“This shameful performance that literally put the country at risk should never be forgotten,” the editors write.

‘NOT FIT TO SERVE:’ SPEAKER JOHNSON LEADS GOP DEMANDS FOR BIDEN TO RESIGN FROM PRESIDENCY

The editors say Biden, who endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris as the Democratic nominee, would “make it easier for her to hit reset in the campaign” if he resigned from office immediately.

“In isolation, Democrats would be better served to look beyond Harris, ideally to a governor with a more moderate image. But Biden’s endorsement, the compressed timetable, and the difficulty of passing over an African-American woman will presumably make that very difficult, if not impossible,” they wrote.

While Harris’ political impact remains to be seen, “At least the centerpiece of the Democratic campaign will no longer be a flagrant falsehood that nearly everyone recognizes as such,” the editorial board concludes.

CLINTONS ENDORSE KAMALA HARRIS HOURS AFTER BIDEN DROPS OUT

“Biden is no longer offering himself up as the next president of the United States until January 2029 and, if he really wants to put the country first as he said in his statement, should resign the presidency right now.”

The no-holds-barred editorial comes as Republican lawmakers call on Biden to resign from office immediately following his announcement to withdraw from the race.

Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., said in a statement, “If Joe Biden is not fit to run for President, he is not fit to serve as President. He must resign the office immediately. November 5 cannot arrive soon enough.”

Trump shooter practiced at gun range weeks before rally: ‘I was sitting next to evil,’ witness says

Thomas Matthew Crooks tested his shooting prowess at a western Pennsylvania gun range just weeks before last Saturday’s attempted assassination of former President Trump, according to a report.

Bill Jenkins said he practiced his firearms skills immediately next to Crooks at the Keystone Shooting Center in Cranberry on June 22 – mere weeks before the July 13 attack, The Sun reported.

“I was sitting next to evil,” Jenkins told the outlet. “I haven’t been able to sleep thinking about it.”

Homeland Security Committee chairman calls for Cheatle to resign ‘for the good of this country’

Homeland Security Committee Chairman Mark Green (R-Tenn.) called for Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle to resign on Sunday, the day before the official is slated to testify to Congress.

In a statement obtained by Fox News, Green argued that Cheatle “should no longer hold her position,” in light of the recent assassination attempt against former President Trump. The Tennessee Republican compiled three reasons for the Secret Service director’s resignation.

“First, Director Cheatle argued the Secret Service could not position counter-snipers in the location of the shooter because of the angle of the roof,” Green argued. “This was an absurd, unacceptable, and obviously unfounded excuse. It simply does not pass the smell test.”

“Second, Director Cheatle misled the Committee by claiming Trump’s security detail never requested more security,” he added. “It has now been reported by both the Washington Post and the New York Times, however, that the Trump detail repeatedly made requests for more resources that were denied.”

As a third reason, Green accused Cheatle of placing “blame at the feet of local law enforcement for the failures of that day––blatantly ignoring the fact that local officers were assigned the responsibility for securing the area the building the sniper climbed onto was in.”

“Director Cheatle has rightfully admitted the near assassination of a former president was a failure,” he added. “She also rightfully said the buck stops with her.”

“For the good of this country, Director Cheatle must resign immediately,” the statement concluded.

Rep. Anna Paulina Luna accuses DOJ of ‘weaponized double standard’ in wake of Trump shooting

Rep. Anna Paulina Luna, R-Fla., appeared on “Fox & Friends” on Sunday to discuss Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle’s upcoming testimony about the recent assassination attempt against President Trump.

Luna, who is part of the House Oversight Committee, says that she wants to know “who ultimately made the decision to prevent Trump from actually being protected that day.”

“We do see that Mayorkas is stonewalling our subpoenas to be able to understand what happened with communication between Secret Service, but I also have some questions about who exactly this kid was working with,” she said, referencing gunman Thomas Matthew Crooks.

The Florida Republican added that she believes there is a “weaponized double standard within the justice system.”

“Regardless of whatever your political leanings are, what happened with President Trump should have never gone down…so why did that happen? And I think the American people deserve answers to this,” Luna added.

Sen. Blackburn blasts Cheatle for prioritizing party over attempted-assassination probe

Tennessee Sen. Marsha Blackburn slammed Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle for prioritizing a cocktail party over an investigation into the attempted assassination of former President Trump.

Cheatle ducked a fuming group of senators who wanted to discuss security lapses that nearly cost Trump his life, but Blackburn and several other lawmakers confronted the embattled security boss Wednesday at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee.

But Blackburn said Cheatle was occupied with a reception and declined to field their inquiries.

“What was not appropriate was that she was there in a luxury suite. She was having a cocktail reception for, as she termed them, their security partners and partners on the convention,” Blackburn told Fox News Digital.

Secret Service explanation continues to evolve one week after attempted assassination

The Secret Service’s explanation for security lapses that allowed a 20-year-old gunman to take multiple shots at former President Trump has continued to evolve, most recently with the agency acknowledging it had denied some requests by Trump’s team for additional security.

Revelations first reported by the Washington Post that the Secret Service denied repeated requests by Trump’s security detail were just the latest in an ever-evolving explanation by the agency, which initially pushed back hard on claims it had issued such denials.

“The assertion that a member of the former president’s security team requested additional security resources that the U.S. Secret Service or the Department of Homeland Security rebuffed is absolutely false,” Anthony Guglielmi, a spokesman for the Secret Service, said the day after the attempt on Trump’s life.

Eric Trump calls on Secret Service chief to resign after Trump assassination attempt

Eric Trump joined the chorus of Republicans calling on Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle to resign after security failures enabled former President Trump’s attempted assassin to open fire at a Pennsylvania rally last weekend, killing one and injuring others.

“[She] should resign in absolute disgrace,” he told Fox News’ Maria Bartiromo on Sunday.”The fact that you can come out and lie to the American people, stop subpoenas as Mayorkas is trying to do right now, stop FOIA requests as Mayorkas is trying to do right now, and tell the American people that… Secret Service couldn’t navigate the roof. That’s going to be the excuse she’s going to use? It’s an absolute disgrace,” he continued.

“The fact that the Biden administration could allow a former president, and very likely a future president, to take a bullet through the ear, and there is no accountability… and the person [Cheatle] is still in their job just shows how disgraceful and inept this administration is. She should be out of a job. They should put somebody in there that’s competent.”

Rep. James Comer demands answers from Kimberly Cheatle ahead of tomorrow’s testimony

Rep. James Comer, R-Ky., recently appeared on “Sunday Morning Futures” to discuss the fallout surrounding the Secret Service’s handling of the assassination attempt against former President Trump.

Comer, who serves as the chair of the United States House Committee on Oversight and Accountability, confirmed that Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle plans to testify on Monday.

“I subpoenaed her, so she’s going to have to honor that subpoena or she’s going to pay the price,” Comer said. “The American people have lots of questions, and they deserve answers.”

The Kentucky Republican also discussed the recent WaPo report revealing that the Secret Service had denied requests from Trump’s security detail in the past.

“We think, not only do we need answers, but people need to be held accountable,” he said. “And that’s what the director is going to have to answer tomorrow. She’s going to have about a six-hour hearing, and she’s going to have hundreds of questions that she’s going to have to answer. And the American people will be watching that hearing.”

Former Secret Service agent says agency has been ‘chronically’ underfunded for years: video

Former Secret Service agent Bill Gage appeared on “Fox & Friends” on Sunday to discuss the damning Washington Post report that claimed top Secret Service officials “repeatedly” denied requests from Trump’s security detail.

Trump was shot in Butler, Pennsylvania, during a July 13 rally, leading to increased scrutiny against the Secret Service.

Speaking to host Will Cain, Gage said that the Secret Service has been “chronically understaffed, underfunded, for years.”

Gage also defended the agency against suspicions that requests from Trump’s team were denied for political reasons.

“I can tell you that that is not true,” the former agent said. “The Service is an apolitical organization that makes these decisions based on available resources. And it is a simple supply and demand equation for the Secret Service.”

Rep. Ronny Jackson accuses Secret Service director of lying to him: ‘Has a lot to answer for’

Congressman Ronny Jackson appeared on “Sunday Morning Futures” on Sunday morning to discuss the scrutiny surrounding the Secret Service’s response to the Trump assassination attempt.

Speaking to Maria Bartiromo, Jackson went into detail about Trump’s health after the assassination attempt. He served as Physician to the President during the Trump administration, and immediately consulted with the former president in the aftermath of the July 13 shooting.

“I wanted people to know that the president’s doing well,” Jackson said. “I also wanted people to know that he almost died.”

“I mean, if that bullet had been 1 to 2 cm more towards his head, it would have entered his head and it would have done incredible damage.”

During the interview, Jackson also accused Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle of lying to him during a private meeting. He referenced a recent Washington Post report that found that senior Secret Service officials denied requests from Trump’s security detail in the past.

“She has a lot to answer for, she lied to me in the meeting,” the Texas Republican said. “I asked her specifically if they had backed down or denied resources for the president at any point, and she said no. And now we’re finding out that [the WaPo report] is true.”

The congressman also said that he has “never, ever been prouder of President Trump,” than he was last week.

“When he stood up with blood all over his face, and he raised his fist in defiance and he shook his fist, that was unbelievable,” Jackson said admiringly. “That was his warrior spirit from deep down inside coming out. I think that he’s a warrior.”

Secret Service skipped police briefing before Trump shooting, was not on same radio channel: source

A source familiar with the investigation backed up what Sen. Ron Johnson, R-Wisconsin, said on Fox News’ “Sunday Morning Futures” claiming Secret Service did not attend a 9 a.m. security meeting with local law enforcement the day of the July 13 rally. The source also supported what Johnson said about local law enforcement who were outside the rally perimeter not being on the same tactical radio channel as the Secret Service.

Johnson stressed that the details are all preliminary information based on interviews his staff has held with local law enforcement. Fox News has not been able to independently confirm Johnson’s other claims that a picture time taken by a local sniper shows Crooks on the roof at 5:14 p.m., nearly an hour before Trump was shot, nor that there allegedly is video on the Internet that disputes the
FBI’s statement about a single shooter.

“So, again, we had pictures of this guy, you know, why was he intercepted? There’s so many, so many unanswered questions here,” Johnson told FOX Business host Maria Bartiromo.

DHS senior officials defend women Secret Service agents after Trump assassination attempt

Senior Department of Homeland Security (DHS) officials pushed back against “statements questioning the presence of women in law enforcement,” namely female Secret Service agents, in the wake of the assassination attempt on former President Trump in Butler, Pennsylvania.

“These assertions are baseless and insulting,” Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, Senior Official Performing the Duties of the Deputy Secretary of Homeland Security Kristie Canegallo, and the leaders of the DHS agencies and offices with law enforcement responsibilities said in a joint statement released on Saturday.

“Every single day, in communities big and small across our great country, women are serving in federal, state, local, tribal, territorial, and campus law enforcement,” they continued. “They are highly trained and skilled professionals, who risk their lives on the front lines for the safety and security of others. They are brave and selfless patriots who deserve our gratitude and respect.”

“We in the United States
Department of Homeland Security
— the largest law enforcement organization in the federal government — will, with great pride, focus, and devotion to mission, continue to recruit, retain, and elevate women in our law enforcement ranks,” DHS leadership added. “Our Department will be the better for it, and our country more secure.”

The Secret Service has been heavily criticized for its failure to prevent Trump from being shot during a Pennsylvania rally on July 13. Many Republican lawmakers have called for Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle to resign. She was appointed by President Biden to lead the Secret Service in 2022, making her only the second woman to ever lead the agency.

Prior to this role, Cheatle served as senior director of global security at PepsiCo, where she was responsible for directing and implementing security protocols for the company’s facilities in North America. Critics have accused Cheatle of prioritizing “woke” ideologies rooted in DEI instead of only focusing on hiring the best for the agency. While at the Secret Service, Cheatle has stressed the importance of increasing diversity in the Secret Service.

Trump would-be assassin lived in ‘hoarder’ house, mother is blind: report

Former classmates described Thomas Matthew Crooks, who allegedly attempted to assassinate former President Trump at a Butler, Pennsylvania, rally on July 13, to the Wall Street Journal as a quiet loner who wasn’t politically outspoken and went by “Tom.”

Law enforcement officials told the Journal his mother, Mary, who is blind, and his father, Matthew, have been cooperating with the investigation but appear to have had little knowledge of what their son was planning. One source described Crooks’ home searched by law enforcement
in Bethel Park as cluttered and dirty, like that of a hoarder.

Trump says ‘I owe immigration my life’ after assassination attempt

Former President Donald Trump said at a rally in Michigan on Saturday, “I owe immigration my life,” recalling how the slight turn of his head at a rally in Pennsylvania to a sign on border statistics was the difference between the bullet striking his right ear, instead of piercing his skull.

“You know, I was pointing to an immigration border sign when I made this turn, and that thing went that way instead of that way,” Trump told Grand Rapids, Mich., rallygoers, recounting the trajectory of the bullet. “So I owe immigration my life. It’s true, it’s true.”

The former president and Republican nominee said he turned his head to point to what he refers to as the “million dollar sign,” which was held up by a crane at the Butler, Pa., rally on July 13. At that moment, a bullet whizzed toward the former president, striking his right ear.

“But that sign was very good. I think I’m going to sleep with it tonight,” Trump said Saturday.

“Then I looked and I said, that’s not good. That’s not good. So I said, immigration. If you think about it right, at immigration, I would have never been looking to the right. And I had to be. It was the only it was the only place that would have saved us,” Trump said. “Every shot was no good for me except for the one direct, direct, and came whizzing by and, I hope we have to never go through that again. Everybody, because it’s so horrible.”

Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle has not visited Trump assassination attempt site

U.S. Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle has not visited the site of the assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump in Butler, Pennsylvania.

Fox News national correspondent Bryan Llenas asked the Secret Service, “Has Director Cheatle visited the rally site in Butler to do a site walk through or survey since the shooting? If not, why?”

Anthony Guglielmi, Chief of Communications for the U.S. Secret Service, said in response, “The site is an FBI crime scene. We are not conducting that part of the investigation. “

Cheatle will testify in front of Congress about security lapses Monday morning without having been to the crime scene first hand. While she’s being questioned, a group of lawmakers will be touring the rally site Monday morning led by Republican Rep. Mark Green of Tennessee.

Trump says Elon Musk never spoke to him about $45M per month donations, EV industry criticisms

Former President Donald Trump said at a campaign rally in Michigan on Saturday that he would “rescue the U.S. auto industry from obliteration,” while also touting the recent endorsement of Tesla founder and tech entrepreneur Elon Musk.

Trump told rallygoers that Musk did not tell him about having donated $45 million per month to his campaign and also never mentioned in their conversations Trump’s criticism of electric vehicles.

“I love Elon Musk. Do we love him? I love him,” Trump said. “But Elon endorsed me the other day, and I read — I didn’t even know this — he didn’t even tell me about it, but he gives me $45 million a month, a month. Not 45 million. Gives me 45 million a month.”

“And I talked to him just a little while ago to say I was coming here. How are you doing? And he didn’t even mention it,” Trump added. “I mean, other guys, they give you $2 and you got to take them to lunch. You got to win ’em, dine ’em.”

The former president and Republican nominee said he is not opposed to electric vehicles entirely but said the head of the United Autoworkers wanted them above all else.

“I’m constantly talking about electric cars. But I don’t mean I’m against — I’m totally for them,” Trump said. “But whatever the market says and if it’s 10% of the market, 12%, 7%, 20%, whatever it is, it’s okay. But you can’t have 100% electric cars.”

Trump recalled how conversations with Musk, also the founder of SpaceX, usually revolve around the latest rocket engine techonology.

“He’s a great guy. He really is,” Trump said of Musk. “But, you know, he’s never mentioned to me ‘why are you hitting the electric cars?’ Because he understands. I’m not hitting it. I think it’s incredible. I’ve had them. I’ve driven them. They’re incredible. But they’re not for everybody. Some people have to drive long distances And they tend to be more expensive. And, you know, they’ll probably be made in China because China has all of that material.”

Trump policies will put Americans ‘back in the driver’s seat’: Mike Rogers

U.S. Senate candidate Mike Rogers, R-Mich., shared highlights from former President Trump’s rally in Michigan and discussed the demand for answers in the assassination attempt against the former president.

He described the Michigan rally and the Republican National Convention as “electric” and said Trump’s agenda is for the working American families. Rogers, a former FBI agent who was previously chairman of the House intelligence committee, said he and Trump had a conversation about a “leadership change” to get politics out of the Department of Justice.

Photo of Trump shooter’s bike left at rally as expert questions why ‘flying squad’ wasn’t mobilized

A lone bike cloaked by a tree’s shade near a Pennsylvania manufacturing facility is a haunting reminder of a gunman’s hail of gunfire that nearly assassinated a former president.

The shooter, Thomas Matthew Crooks, rode the bicycle to Donald Trump’s rally in Butler and ditched it before he opened fire from a roof about 150 yards from where the former president spoke to the crowd of thousands on Saturday, The New York Post reported.

Crooks left the bike behind in plain sight before he climbed to his perch and unfurled a flurry of gunshots that killed a local hero, who shielded his family, nicked Trump’s ear and wounded two others.

A witness first noticed the bicycle around 5:30 p.m. on July 13 – about 42 minutes before the shooting – according to The Post. The security misstep has at least one expert believing “someone was asleep at the switch.”

Paul Mauro, an attorney and retired NYPD inspector who has been involved in several multi-agency security coordination efforts during his career, said a “flying squad” should have nabbed Crooks well before he pulled the trigger.

Would be Trump assassin’s high school clarifies record on rifle team, bullying claims

Bethel Park High School said it wanted to correct the record on Thomas Matthew Crooks, who allegedly attempted to assassinate former President Trump during a July 13 rally in Butler, Pa.

The Pennsylvania high school released a statement Saturday saying it had no record of Crooks, who graduated in 2022, having been on or having tried out for the rifle team. The school also said it had no record of Crooks being bullied, despite reports claiming he had been.

“It has been reported that Thomas Crooks was a member of the Bethel Park High School rifle team or tried out for it but was dismissed due to poor performance or because the coach had character concerns,” Bethel Park High School said. “Thomas Crooks was never a member of the school’s rifle team and we have no record of him trying out. The coach does not recall meeting him. However, it is possible that Crooks informally attended a practice, took a shot, and never returned. We don’t have any record of that happening.”

Bethel Park High School also said there is “a painful misconception that Thomas Crooks was relentlessly bullied in school, which may have led to the assassination attempt on former President Trump.” The school district “maintains detailed records, including academic performance, attendance, disciplinary history, and health records,” the online statement said. “According to our records, Mr. Crooks excelled academically, regularly attended school, and had no disciplinary incidents, including those related to bullying or threats.”

The high school said “Crooks was known as a quiet, bright young man who generally got along with his teachers and classmates,” and since graduating, he earned an associate’s degree in engineering science from the Community College of Allegheny County and worked as a dietary aide at Bethel Park Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

“It would be wildly irresponsible for us to speculate on his state of mind in the two years since we last saw Thomas Crooks,” the high school said.

The statement also acknowledged there “is a false claim that Thomas Crooks once threatened violence against the school.” In 2019, the school said there was “an unfortunate incident involving threats made by a different student against specific school administrators,” but that had “no connection whatsoever to Thomas Crooks.”

Trump remembers Corey Comperatore as ‘hero’ at Michigan rally day after Pennsylvania funeral

Former President Donald Trump paid tribute to Corey Comperatore in Grand Rapids, Michigan, on Saturday during his first campaign rally since the assassination attempt in Butler, Pennsylvania, a week earlier.

The funeral for Comperatore, an ex-fire chief who was fatally struck shielding his wife and daughters from gunfire, was held Friday at Cabot Methodist Church in small town Pennsylvania.

Trump was not in attendance because of Secret Service concerns, the Associated Press reported, citing a source familiar with the matter.

“Corey, as you know, Corey Comperatore was a brave firefighter who died, funeral yesterday, Trump said Saturday in Michigan. “Shielding his wife and daughters from bullets, who shielded them from the bullets of this… this horrendous person. Corey was a hero. And we will carry his memory in our hearts for all time.”

Secret Service admits leaning on ‘state and local partners’ after claim it ignored Trump team’s past

The U.S. Secret Service responded Saturday night to a bombshell report that top officials repeatedly denied past pleas to beef up former President Trump’s security detail, saying in a statement that it depends on “state or local partners” to fill in gaps when it can’t accommodate such requests.

The report from the Washington Post came exactly a week after Trump was shot in Butler, Pennsylvania, while speaking at a rally, prior to his 2024 presidential nomination at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee.

The gunman, Thomas Matthew Crooks, had been observed by attendees before the shooting began. The Post reported that, before the July 13 assassination attempt on Trump, top Secret Service officials “repeatedly” denied requests for tighter security measures from Trump’s detail. An official granted the interview to the media outlet on the condition of anonymity.

According to the report, agents tasked with protecting Trump requested additional security resources in the past. These requests involved things such as magnetometers or a larger number of personnel to screen guests. Additional snipers had also reportedly been requested in the past.

Trump pulls union member up on stage during rally, jokes that he ‘does not carry guns’

Former President Trump pulled a union worker that he recognized on stage during a campaign rally on Saturday.

Trump was speaking about electric cars when he suddenly recognized an audience member.

“Are you the same guy? Yes? No kidding,” Trump said. “Pretty good memory, right? Unlike somebody else that I happen to be running against.”

The Republican then encouraged the worker to get up on stage and joked around with him.

“He’s a serious union guy, a United Auto Workers [worker],” Trump said. “He does not carry guns. Come on up here, look at him. Look at the shape he’s in.”

“I’m glad to see this guy,” the union worker said energetically at the podium. “I told you, we’re gonna get 85 million of us out there to vote for him. So let’s go home from this rally and do our part.”

Trump tells Jesse Watters that he was not warned about gunman, despite reports

Fox News host Jesse Watters recently conducted a sit-down interview with former President Trump to discuss last week’s failed assassination attempt.

The interview, which will premiere on “Jesse Watters Primetime” on Monday night at 8 p.m. ET, featured both Trump and his vice presidential candidate JD Vance. Vance currently serves as a U.S. Senator representing Ohio.

The three men discussed the assassination attempt against the former president last week. Gunman Thomas Matthew Crooks
shot at Trump from a roof in the middle of a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, wounding the presidential candidate on his right ear.

Trump revealed during the interview that he was not warned about Crooks by the U.S. Secret Service.

“Nobody mentioned it,” the former president replied. “Nobody said it was a problem.”

“[They] could’ve said, ‘Let’s wait for 15, 20 minutes, 5 minutes.’ Nobody said…I think that was a mistake,” he added.
