Activist steals the show after being introduced by Trump at Atlanta rally
A Georgia activist stole the show after being introduced by former President Trump at his rally in Atlanta Saturday.
Trump invited Michaelah Montgomery up on stage toward the end of his speech at the Georgia State University Convocation Center. He introduced Montgomery by explaining he met her at a restaurant this year.
Trump said Montgomery, who attended Clark Atlanta University, had recognized him in public and commended him for funding historically Black colleges and universities.
“She looks at me, says ‘It’s President Trump. You saved my college.’ And I said, ‘How the hell do you know that?’ … This one is so smart, so sharp,” Trump recalled.

“She grabbed me. She gave me a kiss,” he added. “I said, ‘I think I’m never going back home to the first lady.'”
“You were supposed to keep that quiet,” Montgomery laughed.
The former president commended Montgomery, describing her as “incredible” with a “tremendous future,” and told her he would do “whatever I can to help you,” before giving her the podium.
“I do want to add on to some of the remarks that were made by others,” the conservative activist began. “And we do need to do our best to get the message out there. The fight is nothing if all we do is talk about it amongst ourselves.”
Montgomery added that she was a founder of an organization called Conserve the Culture, which helps “mobilize the HBCU students so that they may get this [conservative] message.”

“Nobody needs this message more than my folks, so do y’all care for real?” Montgomery said to the cheering audience. “Are y’all with us for real?
“I’ma give it back to Big T.”
The rally took place days after Trump was criticized by the White House for statements he made at the recent National Association of Black Journalists convention about Vice President Kamala Harris’ racial identity.
“She was always of Indian heritage, and she was only promoting Indian heritage,” Trump said. “I didn’t know she was Black until a number of years ago when she happened to turn Black. And now she wants to be known as Black. So, I don’t know, is she Indian or is she Black?”
On Wednesday, Housing and Urban Development Secretary Ben Carson praised Trump for “answering tough questions” at the conference.
“I commend my friend @realdonaldtrump for going into a hostile environment at @NABJ today and answering tough questions,” Carson said in a post on X.

Vatican breaks silence after drag queens mock Last Supper at Olympics’ opening ceremony
The opening ceremony of the Olympics was immediately under criticism, and it “saddened” Pope Francis.
A statement released by the Vatican Saturday evening said there should be “no allusions ridiculing the religious convictions of many people.”
“The Holy See was saddened by certain scenes during the opening ceremony of the Paris Olympic Games and can only join the voices that have been raised in recent days to deplore the offence caused to many Christians and believers of other religions,” the statement said.

“At a prestigious event where the whole world comes together to share common values, there should be no allusions ridiculing the religious convictions of many people. The freedom of expression, which is clearly not called into question here, is limited by respect for others.”
The ceremony turned heads when it included a headless Marie Antoinette early on, then a ménage à trois.
However, what made critics most angry was when the ceremony appeared to depict a mock Last Supper with people dressed in drag.
The performance took place during a floating parade on the Seine River last week and featured drag queens seated around a table with one person, painted blue, sitting atop the table. Many argue the display resembled the Da Vinci painting depicting a scene from the Gospel of John when Jesus announces that one of his apostles would betray him.
FRENCH POLE VAULTER BECOMES INTERNET SENSATION AFTER HIS MANHOOD COSTS HIM CHANCE AT OLYMPIC MEDAL
There’s been mixed messaging from Olympic organizers over what was behind the drag scene. One spokesperson reportedly admitted to the New York Post that creative director Thomas Jolly took inspiration from da Vinci’s painting, “The Last Supper.” Others have claimed no offense was intended, and it was merely a nod to Greek mythology.
Many Christian faith leaders and celebrities, like Kansas City Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker, fitness guru Jillian Michaels, Elon Musk, actress Candace Cameron Bure and ex-transgender influencer Oli London, expressed disappointment in the depiction.

Powerful ally emerges as citizens revolt against socialist dictator’s election ‘fraud’
Argentinian President Javier Milei has emerged as a powerful ally of the Venezuelan anti-government protests as international pressure mounts to award the recent presidential election to the opposition.
Leaders from around the world, including the U.S., have cast doubt on Nicolas Maduro’s claim that he won the election, and protesters have clashed with police in the streets of the embattled South American nation.
“He’s been very, very helpful, and he has been kind of like a rallying voice in South America to allow him, along with the left, the opposition of healing work and kind of pushing other democracies to recognize Edmundo as president,” Daniel Acosta Rivas, an OSINT Analyst, told Fox News Digital.
Rivas said that Milei’s vocal support has “been coming into Venezuela and especially in the diaspora.”
Milei was among the first world leaders to speak out after the Maduro-controlled National Electoral Council handed victory to the incumbent with an alleged margin of 51%, compared to 44% support for the opposition. Pre-election polling (which is illegal in the country) indicated that opposition candidate Edmundo Gonzalez received double the votes of Maduro.
BLINKEN SAYS VENEZUELA’S NICOLAS MADURO LOST ELECTION BEFORE CLAIMING VICTORY WITH ‘NO SUPPORTING EVIDENCE’
The U.S. eventually recognized Gonzalez as the winner after claiming to have reviewed tally sheets, but Milei had immediately blasted the election result as a “fraud carried out and perpetrated by the dictator Nicolás Maduro.”
“He may believe he has won a battle,” Milei said. “However, the most important thing is that the Venezuelan lions have awakened, and sooner or later socialism will come to an end.”
Milei stressed that Argentina “will not acknowledge a new fraud” and urged Venezuela’s armed forces to “defend democracy and popular will this time around.” He pointed to “data” that showed a “crushing victory for the opposition.”
Protesters took to the streets and met a violent crackdown from police as Maduro attempted to press his victory claim, drawing international condemnation. Milei continued to urge the protesters and support their fight against Maduro.
CHAVEZ STATUES TOPPLED ACROSS VENEZUELA AS ELECTION PROTESTS RAGE ON
Maduro lashed out at Milei earlier this week, taking several shots at the Argentinian. He referenced Milei’s “monster face” and called him “an ugly guy, too, and stupid.”
He also labeled Milei a “Nazi, fascist guy” who demanded to know how anyone could take a “guy like that seriously,” according to the Buenos Aires Herald. He also called Milei a “cowardly bug” and a “traitor to the homeland.”
“These people have said no to wild capitalism and fascism,” Maduro insisted during a rally outside his party headquarters. “From Caracas, Venezuela has said no to the Nazi fascist Milei. We are a country of warriors.”
But Maduro’s response only seemed to have galvanized the protesters and strengthened Milei’s popularity among the opposition. Rivas noted that Maduro keeps commenting on the likes of Milei and Elon Musk – both prominent critics following the election result – in an effort to shift the focus away from the election, but the efforts have only highlighted him and his politics in a region that is increasingly unhappy with politics as normal in the region.
BIDEN’S VENEZUELA POLICY FEEDS MADURO STRONGMAN IMAGE, EMBOLDENS DICTATOR IN ELECTION CONTROVERSY: RUBIO
“He has pushed a right-wing movement or classical liberal movement throughout Latin America,” Rivas said. “You see people being inspired by his message and his rise to the leadership … he was virtually unknown outside of libertarian circles before he ran for office, and he was dismissed by the other members of the opposition in Argentina during the Fernandez-Kirchner government. And look at him now.”
Jorge Jraissati, a Venezuelan foreign policy expert and President of the Economic Inclusion Group, told Fox News Digital that “young people in Venezuela are tired of communism, even the mildest form of socialism.”
“What all of us want is a true change towards the idea of freedom,” Jraissati said. “This is why Javier Milei is … openly defending the ideas of freedom. He is tackling inflation. He is cutting wasteful government spending. And overall, he is pushing the notion that if people are allowed to be free, our countries will finally flourish.”
“The communists have been in power for 25 years in Venezuela,” he continued. “Their legacy has been one of extreme poverty and hunger: From being the wealthiest country in Latin America, we are now the poorest, and on the political front, they turn a functioning democracy into a Stalinist system in which all political freedoms have been taken away from us.”
HARRIS FAILED TO COMBAT ‘ROOT CAUSES’ OF ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION, FORMER BORDER PATROL CHIEF SAYS
Venezuelan activists living in exile spoke glowingly of Milei and his potential impact on the country as protesters continue seeking an end to the Maduro-Chavez system and a new way of life, possibly one that aligns more with the politics of Milei. Since taking office earlier this year, Milei, an economist, has tamed Argentina’s runaway inflation, balanced the budget and pared the size of government.
“Young people tend to embrace socialist ideas; however, those who have lived under these political systems become their biggest adversaries,” Esteban Hernández, a Venezuelan journalist in exile in Miami, told Fox News Digital.
“The Venezuelan youth, unlike in other countries, doesn’t support these ideas,” he said. “As a matter of fact, we have seen that in nations like the U.S. or even Argentina, they make efforts to get elected those who oppose socialism.”

“During the last election cycle in Argentina, for example, we saw many Venezuelans warning locals about voting for Sergio Massa, and many even volunteered to get Javier Milei elected,” Hernández added.
Franklin Camargo, a Venezuelan activist in exile, told Fox News Digital that “Javier Milei is the best right-wing leader of our generation, since he refutes the socialists and the left with philosophical and moral arguments while continually offering the best defense of Individualism, Capitalism and Freedom.”
Former Olympian addresses controversy after boxers fail gender tests
Australian boxer and featherweight champion Skye Nicolson has come to the defense of two boxers at the center of a gender eligibility controversy at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
Nicolson, who competed at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, took to social media to address the situation involving Algeria’s Imane Khelif and Taiwan’s Lin Yu-ting after it surfaced during the 2024 Paris Olympics that both athletes were previously disqualified from the 2023 International Boxing Association (IBA) Women’s World Championships over what president Umar Kremlev said was a positive test for “XY chromosomes.”
Nicolson said in a series of videos posted to her Instagram story Friday that both boxers, whom she has fought, have been mistreated in the media.

“I’ve actually fought and sparred both of the girls. They were born female. They were born with an XY chromosome, which is the male chromosome, but they were born with female bodies. They have the physical attributes of a female,” she said.
“They have grown up as girls, as females, as women. They have competed as women the whole time. These are not naturally born men who have decided to call themselves women or identify as women to fight women in the Olympics. So, at the random World Championships, when IBA decided to do chromosome testing, that is when these two athletes were discovered to have XY chromosomes. It wasn’t a testosterone test. It wasn’t that they failed anything like that. It wasn’t a physical test. They do not have the physical attributes of a male.
“And while it is a bit of a gray area, I think the abuse and the power of the media, and people just jumping on the bandwagon without knowing all the details, is honestly horrible.”
IOC PRESIDENT LABELS SCRUTINY ABOUT TWO OLYMPIC BOXERS WHO FAILED GENDER TEST AS ‘HATE SPEECH’
The IBA has maintained that Khelif and Lin both have competitive advantages that should preclude them from competing against women, but Nicolson argued that if that were the case, Khelif and Lin would be winners in every fight.
“If they were men, and it was dangerous for girls to be fighting them, they would be winning gold at everything. They’re not. They have been beaten by girls on numerous occasions, both of them. And I feel like that says it all.
“These girls have represented their country on numerous occasions for many, many years now as female fighters, and they do not deserve this mistreatment,” she added. “I think they have been so unfortunate enough to even be in the situation that they’re in and to get all this scrutiny as well.”
The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has defended its position to allow the two boxers to participate in the 2024 Paris Games. On Saturday, President Thomas Bach reaffirmed there was “never any doubt” about their gender.

“We will not take part in a politically motivated … cultural war,” Bach said. “What is going on in this context, in the social media with all this hate speech, with this aggression and abuse, and fueled by this agenda, is totally unacceptable.”
Bach initially said in his address “this differences in sex development (DSD) case, this is about a woman taking part in a women’s competition, and I think I have explained this many times.”
The IOC later clarified that he meant that it was “not a transgender case.”
Leading VP contender Shapiro forced to play defense after decades-old essay resurfaces
Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro, D-Penn., has had to defend his stance on Israel after an op-ed he penned more than three decades ago, in which he wrote of being an Israeli army volunteer and disparaged the Palestinian people, resurfaced.
“Since he wrote this piece as a 20-year-old student, Gov. Shapiro has built close, meaningful, informative relationships with many Muslim-American, Arab-American, Palestinian Christian, and Jewish community leaders all across Pennsylvania,” Shapiro’s spokesman Manuel Bonder told Fox News Digital in a statement.
“The Governor greatly values their perspectives and the experiences he has learned from over the years – and as a result, as with many issues, his views on the Middle East have evolved into the position he holds today,” Bonder continued.
The Philadelphia Inquirer uncovered the essay that Shapiro wrote for the Campus Times, the student newspaper of the University of Rochester, from which Shapiro graduated in 1995. In the article, Shapiro stressed his view that “Palestinians will not peacefully coexist,” because “they do not have the capabilities to establish their own homelands and make it successful even with the aid of Israel and the United States.”
HARRIS’ VETTING TEAM PRIVATELY MEETS WITH SHAPIRO, KELLY AHEAD OF VEEP ANNOUNCEMENT: REPORT
“They are too battle-minded to be able to establish a peaceful homeland of their own,” Shapiro wrote, identifying himself as a “past volunteer in the Israeli army.” He referred to the Arab world as divided and “belligerent.”
The comments have resurfaced as part of a thorough review of Shapiro as he edges closer to a potential vice-presidential nod for the Democrat ticket topped by current Vice President Kamala Harris after she secured the nomination this week.
Shapiro’s support for Israel has been controversial inside the Democratic Party due to the strong pro-Palestinian views of the party’s far-left flank. Those who oppose his candidacy launched the “No Genocide Josh” campaign and continue to pressure Harris to pick another running mate.
Some Jewish members of Congress have said that criticism of Shapiro is unfair and assumes that Jewish politicians cannot be objective on Israel.
AMID HARRIS’ YOUTH POLLING SURGE, LATEST FIGURES SHOW BIDEN DID BETTER WITH BLACK VOTERS
“I think there is that sense that somehow we’re not objective [on Israel] because we’re Jewish, which is just not true or fair,” Rep. Greg Landsman, D-Ohio, told Axios. “There are a lot of members who are pro-Israel who have been protested against — I think as Jews it feels particularly intense and personal.”
Bonder pushed back on the idea that the newspaper op-ed, written decades ago, provides any indication of the governor’s current thinking regarding Israel.
“As the Governor has made clear for years, he supports a two-state solution where Israelis and Palestinians can live together peacefully – and he believes it is critical for leaders on both sides of this conflict to take meaningful, necessary steps towards a lasting peace,” Bonder stressed.
“Governor Shapiro has worked hard to bring people together, listen, and keep our communities safe and heard – and he will always be a Governor for all Pennsylvanians,” Bonder added.
COMIC MICHAEL RAPAPORT SAYS HARRIS LOST HIS VOTE OVER ISRAEL: ‘CAN’T SUPPORT PARTY THAT IS FOR THIS BULLS—“
Addressing the self-identification as a “past volunteer in the Israeli army,” Bonder said, “While he was in high school, Josh Shapiro was required to do a service project, which he and several classmates completed through a program that took them to a kibbutz in Israel where he worked on a farm and at a fishery.”
“The program also included volunteering on service projects on an Israeli army base. At no time was he engaged in any military activities,” Bonder said.

When asked about the article during a Friday press conference, the 51-year-old Shapiro stressed his age and the time that has passed since publishing the article. He reiterated his belief that the only way forward for the region is a two-state solution that allows both Israelis and Palestinians “to determine their own futures and their own destinies,” the Times of Israel reported.
Shapiro also had earlier this year called Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu “one of the worst leaders of all time” and blasted him for steering Israel “in a wrong direction,” according to the Times.
State lawmaker pushes back as scapegoat emerges for Trump assassination attempt
MARS, Pa. – A Pennsylvania state lawmaker whose district inculdes the Butler Farm Show grounds called out the national media for throwing local law enforcement and first responders “under the bus” after the attempted assassination of former President Trump last month.
State Rep. Aaron Bernstine, a Republican who represents Butler and Lawrence counties, said Saturday the media has wrongly criticized Butler County and other local agencies, adding the culpability for security breakdowns falls at the feet of the U.S. Secret Service.
“Our first responders in this situation have been thrown under the bus by those in the national media. That is entirely inappropriate,” Bernstine told Fox News Digital. “These individuals did everything that they should have done and took every precaution. This is a complete failure from a tactical standpoint, to a communication standpoint, by the United States Secret Service.”
Bernstine said in the time since the shooting, his office has dealt with an uptick in constituent issues as the press, federal agencies, lawmakers and others descend on northwest Pennsylvania.

“That being said, we have great people here. (It is) a great conservative area. I couldn’t be more proud to represent these folks,” Berstine said.
“What transpired had nothing to do with our local law enforcement. Our local law enforcement did every single thing that was asked of them. We’re so proud of the work that they did. This was a complete security fail by the United States Secret Service.”
Bernstine added that he and the state Legislature — currently out of session — originally planned to hold hearings after the deadly rally, but Congress’ response changed minds.
“Congressman Mike Kelly, R-Pa., and Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., are going to do everything they can to uncover what transpired and make sure it never happens again,” Bernstine said, adding that the swiftness with which Johnson responded to the tragic event led him to believe Harrisburg didn’t need to get involved.
TOP REPUBLICAN CALLS CHEATLE’S SLOPED ROOF DEFENSE THE ‘FINAL STRAW’
“Our original plans when this horrible situation occurred were to have hearings, where we would bring people in front of the Pennsylvania State House of Representatives. My position on that has changed,” he said.
Kelly, who represents Butler and Erie, took part in a bipartisan congressional tour of the rally site and now leads a House task force investigating the assassination attempt.
Bernstine said he and others believe federal House Republicans have directed sufficient resources to their own investigation but that many Harrisburg lawmakers stand ready to pitch in if asked.
After years of full Republican control, the Pennsylvania House has a one-seat Democratic majority, while the GOP retains comfortable command of the state Senate.
Bernstine, who was first elected in what he characterized as the 2016 Trump wave, said he invited the GOP nominee back to his district as soon as he is ready.
“With what transpired — words can’t even express the difficulty of what’s been on our community — we welcome President Trump back. We look forward to having President Trump back.
“We’re going to have a huge rally that is beyond secure for President Trump.”

Trump held his first Pennsylvania event since the shooting last week, speaking to an enormous crowd at the Pennsylvania Farm Show complex west of Harrisburg.
The former president quipped during his remarks that the crowd and complex — which similarly fills up for the century-old agricultural celebration every January — reminded him of Madison Square Garden.
During his interview, Bernstine also paid respects to Corey Comperatore, the Butler-area firefighter who was murdered by attempted assassin Thomas Crooks.
“[He was] one of our neighbors who gave so much to the community,” Bernstine said. “This has obviously been a major burden on our community and something that has really been a major burden across this entire nation. And that’s why I have done everything in my power to — No. 1 — help our community.

Diners shocked at higher price for popular Denny’s platter: ‘Abomination’
A Reddit user’s recent post about the cost of a Lumberjack Slam at Denny’s received shocked reactions from others at how quickly the prices at the breakfast chain have increased.
User “Front_Usual_2884” posted a picture of a menu on the “r/Inflation” subreddit July 3, showing the Lumberjack Slam at one Denny’s location costs $17.99.
The Lumberjack Slam comes with buttermilk pancakes, grilled ham, bacon strips, all-pork sausage links, two fresh eggs made to order, hash browns and white toast.
THE FAST FOOD MINIMUM WAGE EFFECT: HIGHER PRICES, REDUCED HOURS
The menu noted that for an additional $3.09, a diner can upgrade the pancakes on the Lumberjack Slam to a choice of different premium pancake varieties.
Denny’s prices vary by region and restaurant. On the Denny’s website, the Lumberjack Slam is listed as having a starting price of $16.29. The Reddit user did not note the location of the Denny’s where he snapped the picture of the menu.
Even since the Reddit post, the starting price of the Lumberjack Slam has increased nationally.
Redditor “CodingFatman” noted in a July 3 comment that the Lumberjack Special’s price on Denny’s website was $14.49, nearly $2 less than the listed price Aug. 3.

“For my daughter, my wife, and self, 3 meals and 2 coffees plus 20% tip was $78,” wrote Front_Usual_288. “Our usual breakfast place is kind of fancy, and less expensive than this abomination.”
Reddit users claimed they used to pay far less than $17.99 for the same order.
“Damn this used to be like $9 I think when I was in high school (2005),” one user wrote.
“I used to get a lumberjack, coffee and cake for under $20,” another recalled.
“I feel like it was like 12.99 just a few years ago,” another user said.

And another user had a humorous suggestion as to why the price was so high.
“You’re paying extra for the lumberjack to come out and slam you at the end,” he said.
Denny’s does not have standardized pricing across the United States. So, it is unclear how much the Lumberjack Slam has increased in price over the years.

Barstool’s Dave Portnoy issues important health message to his followers: ‘You gotta do it’
Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy is sharing his cancer prevention journey with the world.
Portnoy, 47, had a colonoscopy on July 31 and documented the experience on social media for his fans.
The CEO announced in a video on X, formerly Twitter, on July 29 that he was preparing for the procedure in Boston, as part of what he jokingly called the “Dave is getting old checklist.”
ASPIRIN MAY BE LINKED TO LOWER RISK OF COLORECTAL CANCER, NEW STUDY SUGGESTS
Before beginning his fasting and prep, Portnoy said he ate “seven f***in’ dinners from Giacomo’s.”
While he expressed that he was dreading the procedure, he emphasized the importance of men getting screened, saying, “You gotta do it.”
Colon cancer “is the second leading killer of men,” Portnoy said in the video. “It can be treated if you catch it early.”
(Updated statistics from the American Cancer Society show that colorectal cancer is the third-deadliest cancer for men, after lung cancer and prostate cancer.)
FDA APPROVES NEW BLOOD TEST FOR COLON CANCER SCREENING: ‘EARLY DETECTION IS CRITICAL’
Portnoy said he has partnered with the Washington, D.C.-based nonprofit Lead From Behind to help raise awareness of colorectal cancer.
“I’m a captain, that’s what captains do — they lead the ship,” he said.
On July 30, Portnoy jokingly posted, “I’m starving. May not make it.”
The next morning, at 5:48 a.m, he posted, “Rise and shine, it’s colonoscopy time!”
He then shared a video of himself upon arrival at the facility, joking that no one was available to check him in even though he’d been instructed to show up an hour early.
At 7:18 a.m., after he’d been checked in and changed into a gown, Portnoy shared a selfie with the caption, “Locked and loaded.”
WHAT IS COLORECTAL CANCER? SIGNS, SYMPTOMS, RISKS AND MORE OF THE GLOBAL HEALTH CONCERN
It appeared that the procedure went smoothly, as his next post was a short video taken afterward, showing him a bit loopy from the anesthetic.
Later that day, he posted photos of his post-colonoscopy “refill meal.”
In June, he revealed that he had been diagnosed with skin cancer, which was surgically removed from his neck.
Fox News Digital reached out to Portnoy and Lead From Behind for comment.
Portnoy has previously been open about his health issues.
In June, the social media personality revealed on his podcast, “The BFFs Pod,” that he had been diagnosed with skin cancer, which was surgically removed from his neck.
The condition was caused by “lying in the sun all day with no sunscreen,” Portnoy said.

“I went to a doctor, did a skin thing, they scrape it, and one of them came back cancerous; got to take it out,” he added.
Portnoy then said on X that the cancer “wasn’t the serious kind, thank god.”
Portnoy isn’t the first public figure to be open about having a colonoscopy.

In 1997, journalist Katie Couric — then a host on the “Today” show — received her first colonoscopy on-air, in an effort to raise awareness and encourage others to get screened.
Shortly before her procedure, Couric lost her first husband to the disease.
In 2021, the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force updated its guidelines to recommend that adults begin regular screenings for colorectal cancer at 45 years old.
Lead From Behind — which states on its website that it’s “on a mission to make colon cancer famous” — launched in 2022 to help raise awareness of colon cancer prevention.
Actor Ryan Reynolds and football player Dak Prescott have also partnered with the organization to boost colon cancer awareness, according to the Lead From Behind website.
