New poll shows where Trump, Harris stand in crucial battleground states

Former President Donald Trump and current Vice President Kamala Harris are neck-and-neck in key swing states, according to a poll released Wednesday.

A survey conducted by Ipsos found the Republican presidential nominee and his Democratic opponent are in a dead heat struggle for seven swing states: Michigan, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Georgia, North Carolina, Arizona and Nevada.

Harris receives 42% of the vote share in the seven swing states, compared to Trump’s 40% and independent candidate Robert F. Kennedy’s 5%.

HARRIS REPLACING BIDEN SOLIDIFIES TRADITIONAL BLUE STATES, GIVES DEMS A BETTER NATIONAL OUTLOOK

Ipsos said in their report that the “margin on the ballot is well within the margin of error, indicating a race that is too close to call.”

Approximately 52% of respondents in the swing states said that inflation is the most important issue facing the country, while 32% said immigration is the most pressing matter.

The Ipsos poll was conducted between Jul. 31 and Aug. 7 — the Harris campaign announced Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz as her running mate on Aug. 6.

WALZ DOESN’T MOVE NEEDLE WITH RURAL VOTERS, DATA SHOWS

Pollsters have not had enough time to effectively survey the impact of Walz’s selection on Harris’s chances.

The campaign has made it a point to highlight Walz’s Midwestern roots and everyman persona, introducing him as “Coach Walz” during rallies in a nod to his time as a teacher and high school football coach.

Harris will lean on Walz in the critical Midwestern swing states of Michigan and Wisconsin, where the Minnesota governor can point to his regional ties.

The Ipsos poll utilized a representative probability sample of 2,045.

Respondents consisted of U.S. adults 18 or older living in Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin.

Ipsos reports a margin of sampling error of +/- 3.1 percentage points.

Biden hunkers down at Delaware beach house after holding only one public event

President Biden is now hunkering down at his home in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, on Friday after holding only one public event this week.

Biden arrived there late Thursday night and remains away from the White House following a tumultuous week around the globe and on Wall Street. He has no events scheduled for today.

On Friday, the threat of an Iranian counterattack on Israel was still looming large following last week’s killings of top Hezbollah and Hamas officials in Lebanon and Iran.

Russia also has declared a “federal-level” emergency in its Kursk region bordering Ukraine, according to The Associated Press, where Kyiv has launched one of the largest surprise attacks on Russia since the war began over two years ago.

BIDEN HOSTS TEXAS RANGERS AT WHITE HOUSE

Around 1,000 Ukrainian troops are reported to have poured into Russia, where fighting is ongoing.

Wall Street also has had a shaky week.

Following a global market sell-off on Monday — which caused the Dow to plunge 2.6%, Nasdaq Composite 3.43% and S&P 500 3% — the jobless claims report out Thursday eased some concerns of a downturn.

However, one U.S. economist is cautioning that this may be just the beginning of a “reckoning.”

“There’s a lot of pain ahead of us, both for the economy and this reckoning for the markets that have been really behind the curve, like the Fed,” Macromavens President Stephanie Pomboy said Thursday on FOX Business’ “Mornings with Maria.”

PELOSI ADMITS BIDEN CAMPAIGN WASN’T ON ‘PATH TO VICTORY’

Biden held his lone public event of the week on Thursday when he hosted MLB’s reigning World Series champion Texas Rangers at the White House.

After Biden gave a few remarks about the Rangers’ championship season, manager Bruce Bochy presented him with a customized jersey. Biden then held up the jersey and posed for a photo. Bochy also gave the president a pair of cowboy boots.

Moments later, Biden asked, “All right, what am I doing now?” as the guests and players laughed.

America under Kamala Harris would be unsafe and unaffordable for women

“How could you vote for Donald Trump?”

If you’re a woman that doesn’t vote straight-ticket Democrat, I am sure you have been asked this question more than once. For years, Democrats like Vice President Kamala Harris have built their campaigns on empty promises in exchange for women’s votes – but after Election Day, these candidates abandon women to pursue their extreme-left agenda that only serves the fringe of their political base. As a wife, the mother of former President Trump’s grandchildren, and the RNC Co-Chair who has spent months on the campaign trail speaking to women on my father-in-law’s behalf, I am here to tell you not to waste your vote on Harris’ empty promises again.

Prior to entering politics, I was a television producer, a personal trainer, a bartender and a waitress. At one point, like many young women, I moved to the Big Apple and followed my dream to attend culinary school. I understand how hard it is for independent, working women to make ends meet under any circumstances, but Kamala Harris and President Joe Biden have made it impossible.

TRUMP, HARRIS SET FOR PRESIDENTIAL DEBATE ON ABC ON SEPTEMBER 10

Kamala Harris wants to be the first woman president, and she wants women voters to get her there – but her entire political career was built on raising prices, releasing criminals and making it both unaffordable and unsafe to be a woman in Harris and Biden’s America.

From diapers to daycare, dangerously liberal Kamala Harris, who was the deciding vote on the so-called ‘Inflation Reduction Act’ that worsened inflation, has skyrocketed costs for women who are trying to start a family. Since 2019, the average price for a pack of disposable diapers has increased 32%, and almost half of hardworking families are struggling to afford them.

At the same time, the cost of childcare has increased 32% for the average family since 2019, and nearly two-thirds are spending 20 percent or more of their annual income on childcare.

Those numbers are jarring, but they don’t begin to cover the lived experiences of mothers I speak with across the country. A Michigan mother of two has “to think about putting gasoline prices before buying my kids clothes.” Another single mother of two in Nevada even had to sell her car to afford groceries. Harris’ economic policies have failed families and single mothers for the past three-and-a-half years.

To make matters worse for women and their families, Harris’ campaign has attacked the Child Tax Credit, a tax break that my father-in-law prioritized to help parents stay afloat. Trump doubled the Child Tax Credit from $1,000 to $2,000 per child and expanded eligibility for access, while also creating the first-ever paid family leave tax credit for employees earning $72,000 or less.

The numbers don’t lie – while nearly 40 million families benefited from the child tax credit, no family has benefited from the Harris-Biden agenda.

Donald Trump always says, “promises made, promises kept,” and he kept his promise to be a president for all Americans, especially women. Under Trump’s leadership, women saw economic success of unprecedented levels – unemployment for women reached record lows, women’s median income increased, and the workforce participation gap between men and women shrank to the narrowest on record at the time.

But women are also less safe in Kamala Harris’ America. Most of us know the pain that comes from losing a loved one, but no one should have to experience losing their family member to a violent criminal who entered our country illegally.

Tragically, Harris’ wide-open border has taken the lives of many innocent women like Laken Riley, a 22-year-old nursing student, who was brutally murdered on a run at the University of Georgia and an illegal immigrant was charged with the crime. An illegal immigrant from El Salvador was charged for raping and killing Rachel Morin, a Maryland mother to five children.

In June, Jocelyn Nungaray, a 12-year-old girl from Houston, Texas was found strangled to death and two illegal immigrants from Venezuela were charged with her murder. Similarly, a Texas grandmother, Patricia Portillo, was shot and killed at a Chick-fil-A and an illegal immigrant was also charged with that crime. These daughters, sisters, mothers and grandmothers are now missing from the lives of their families.

Violent migrant crime from Harris’ open borders is not the only danger women have to worry about – over 31 tons of fentanyl has crossed our southern border since Harris was sworn in as vice president and is now the leading cause of death for Americans ages 18 to 45.

At the RNC in Milwaukee, Anne Funder shared the devastating story of losing her 15-year-old son to a pill that was laced with fentanyl in 2022. Moms across the country like her deserve a president who will end the fentanyl crisis that has plagued our cities and suburbs and protect our kids. Kamala Harris cannot say she puts women first, when her policies put criminals above American citizens.

Don’t take it from me, take it from the countless women who are struggling to feed and clothe their families, and even to keep them safe in their own homes – Democrats have broken their promises to women for years, and enough is enough. It’s time for women to break up with the Democrat Party and vote for a president that means it when he says, “Promises made, promises kept.”

Vance rips liberal network’s anchor suggesting his military service was embellished

Sen. JD Vance, R-Ohio, fired back at CNN after an anchor suggested he embellished his own military service as the Republican vice presidential nominee hammered his Democratic rival over his record.

Vance, who served as a U.S. Marine in Iraq, has taken aim at Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz as questions have been swirling over how he represented his military service since he was tapped by Vice President Harris as her running mate.

But, according to CNN’s Brianna Keilar, Vance “may be an imperfect messenger” on the issue.

“Because we have, as you introduced him, as a combat correspondent, which is what [Vance’s] title was,” Keilar told her CNN colleague Dana Bash Thursday. “But when you dig a little deeper into that, he was a public affairs specialist, someone who did not see combat, which certainly the title ‘combat correspondent,’ kind of gives you a different impression. So he may be the imperfect messenger on that.”

JD VANCE ACCUSES TIM WALZ OF ‘LYING’ ABOUT MILITARY SERVICE: ‘STOLEN VALOR GARBAGE’

Vance knocked Keilar and CNN on social media.

“Brianna this is disgusting, and you and your entire network should be ashamed of yourselves,” Vance wrote on X. “When I got the call to go to Iraq, I went. Tim Walz said he carried a gun in a war. Did he? No. It was a lie.”

Vance told reporters Wednesday, “I served in a combat zone. I never said that I saw a firefight myself, but I’ve always told the truth about my Marine Corps service. That’s the difference.”

CNN did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital‘s request for comment.

Critics have put a spotlight on an old video incidentally shared by the Harris campaign of Walz pushing for gun control, telling voters, “We can make sure those weapons of war, that I carried in war, is the only place where those weapons are at.”

Retired Command Sgt. Maj. Thomas Behrends, who said he was a member of Walz’s battalion, blasted the governor’s comments.

“To most people, that would mean that he was actually in combat, carrying a weapon in a combat zone and getting combat pay and in a dangerous and hostile environment where he is getting shot at,” Behrends told the ‘Ingraham Angle’ on Wednesday.

A CNN correspondent even fact-checked Walz on Wednesday, declaring that “there is no evidence” he carried weapons in combat as the vice presidential candidate appeared to previously imply.

CNN FACT-CHECKS TIM WALZ ABOUT ‘ABSOLUTELY FALSE’ CLAIM HE CARRIED WEAPONS ‘IN WAR’

Walz was never in an active war zone. He deployed with the Minnesota National Guard to Italy on Aug. 3, 2003, to support Operation Enduring Freedom, according to the Minnesota Guard. The battalion supported security missions at various locations in Europe and Turkey, according to the Guard, and Walz was stationed in Vicenza, Italy, until returning to Minnesota in 2004. He did not deploy to Iraq or Afghanistan.

Vance’s opponent has been at the center of a brewing controversy since he joined the Democratic ticket. Walz, who served in the Minnesota National Guard for 24 years, repeatedly referred to himself as a “retired command sergeant major,” which is not accurate. According to the Minnesota National Guard, while Walz served as command sergeant major, “He retired as a Master Sergeant in 2005 for benefit purposes because he did not complete additional coursework at the U.S. Army Sergeants Major Academy.”

On Thursday, the Harris campaign changed the language in Walz’s bio on their website after the dust-up. The biography initially said Walz was a “retired Command Sergeant Major,” but was then updated to say he “served as a command sergeant major.”

MEDIA HYPES ‘FOLKSY’ TIM WALZ, SAYS PROGRESSIVE GOVERNOR BRINGS ‘CENTRIST MIDWESTERNER’ PERSONA TO DEM TICKET

Walz has also faced criticism over the timing of his retirement from military service over allegations that he did so earlier than he planned to dodge deployment to Iraq.

Tom Schilling, a veteran who served in the same battalion as Walz, said he “ditched” his soldiers before they were deployed to Iraq in 2005.

“We all did what we were supposed to do, we did the right thing,” Schilling said on Fox News’ “Jesse Watters Primetime” Wednesday. “It’s dishonorable what he did. He left somebody else up to take over his spot. He just ditched us.”

The Harris campaign released a statement saying, “In his 24 years of service, the Governor carried, fired and trained others to use weapons of war innumerable times. Governor Walz would never insult or undermine any American’s service to this country – in fact, he thanks Senator Vance for putting his life on the line for our country. It’s the American way.”

Airline removes iconic phrase from announcements as DEI chief says it is too offensive

Over the last few years, Delta Air Lines has embraced the diversity, equity and inclusion agenda under the purview of a chief officer who believes that the phrase “ladies and gentlemen” isn’t inclusive.

Delta’s Chief Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Social Impact Officer Kyra Lynn Johnson has said publicly Delta is striving to “boldly pursue equity” which has impacted every level of the company, from its hiring practices to the language it uses in gate announcements.

“So we’re beginning to take a hard look at things like our gatehouse announcements. You know, we welcome ‘ladies and gentlemen.’ And we’ve asked ourselves, ‘Is that as gender inclusive as we want to be?’” Johnson said during a February 2021 panel with other DEI insiders. “You know, we’re looking at some legacy language that exists in some of our employee manuals. And getting to the root of the way some things are described and saying, ‘Does that actually send a message of inclusivity?’”

ALLEGED INSIDER SAYS BOEING’S WOES ARE SYMPTOM OF ‘FAILURE OF OUR ELITES’ AND DEI ‘RIPPING OUR SOCIETY APART’

Delta released an inclusive language guide in December 2020 which advised employees and leaders against using terms that reinforce the notion that there are only two genders.

“Use gender-neutral language and pronouns. Do not use language that suggests a gender binary (male-female),” the Delta guide said.

A Delta spokesperson told Fox News Digital that the company encourages its employees to use inclusive language.

“Delta encourages our people to use language that is inclusive of everyone as our global customer base includes a broad range of diversity in cultural backgrounds, identity and experiences,” the spokesperson said.

FORMER FAA SAFETY EXPERT ADDRESSES AIRLINE DEI CONTROVERSY, VIRAL UNITED COMMENTS

Also, during the DEI panel in 2021, Johnson stressed how it was important to Delta to be an “antiracist company.”

“To really come out and say, as an organization, that we are an antiracist company was really important to us,” she said. “We are going to actively seek diversity. We’re also talking about how we’re going to boldly pursue equity. And we’re talking about the steps we’re taking to consciously promote inclusion.”

The concept of being antiracist was significantly popularized by activist Ibram X. Kendi, with the publication of his book, “How to Be an Antiracist,” in 2019. Some critics say that Kendi argues for current discrimination in order to atone for historical wrongs. Kendi believes, like Johnson, that it is not enough to not be racist; one must be an activist against racism.

“So, we realize, like many of you have, that it’s not enough just to say, ‘We aren’t racist,’ but to say that you are antiracist,” Johnson added.

In addition to recommendations for employees’ communications, Delta has also pursued a top-down approach in its talent pipeline.

“We said we’re going to reimagine and redefine our talent strategy,” Johnson said, with a focus on being “intentional about the representation that we need.”

She added how those metrics would be closely tracked and measured by Delta’s DEI team.

“We’re starting on a quarterly basis to specifically measure those representation gaps at every level of the company. So we’re looking at the front line representation gap,” she said.

ELON MUSK DINGS BOEING AFTER ALASKA AIRLINES SCARE: ‘PRIORITIZED DEI HIRING’

In addition to applying DEI to Delta’s internal culture, Johnson said in a November 2021 interview with The Airline Tariff Publishing Company, that the airline was looking to push DEI externally.

The company evaluated how it was spending its “PAC dollars” and which “legislation we should support” to mitigate what it deemed “inequity,” she said.

“The next thing we said is we were just going to flat out address inequity,” she said. “And when we say we’re boldly pursuing equity, that’s what we mean. So we were going to lend our voice and our brand to things that support… justice and… equity. We’re going to look at where we spend our PAC dollars. We’re going to look at what legislation we should support,” Johnson said on the DEI panel.

However, some employees have not been “comfortable” with the changes, according to Johnson.

“Perhaps the greatest challenge has been normalizing those conversations,” she said. “So, notice I said the company has set an expectation that those conversations are to be normalized… That doesn’t mean everyone feels that way. It doesn’t mean that everyone’s comfortable having those conversations.”

When asked about Johnson’s leadership, Delta told Fox News Digital, “Delta is demonstrating an authentic commitment to being a workplace where all people can thrive and where we reflect the rich humanity of the customers and communities we serve across the globe.”

Arizona’s Kari Lake rips into Harris on the border: ‘Only Walz she supports is her VP pick’

CHANDLER, Ariz. — Arizona U.S. Senate Republican nominee Kari Lake spoke out Thursday on the dangers she said the Democratic presidential ticket presents for her state, particularly in terms of border security.

Lake, speaking at a campaign event with several families affected by border violence and smuggling, also spoke to Fox News Digital after the event concluded.

Ahead of Vice President Kamala Harris’ scheduled rally on Friday in Glendale, Lake said the Democratic presidential nominee will again come to Arizona without stopping at the southern border.

Lake criticized Harris’ proverbial role as the “border czar,” and praised the “build the wall” policies of Republican presidential nominee, former President Donald Trump.

“Apparently the only Walz [Harris] supports is her VP pick…” Lake quipped, in reference to Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz.

JD VANCE RIPS HARRIS’ LATEST WORD SALAD: ‘SIGNIFICANCE OF THE POWER OF DIPLOMACY’

In an interview with Fox News Digital, Lake invited Harris to go to the border after her rally, adding that “people don’t like her here.”

“We’re living in the nightmare [Harris, President Biden and U.S. Rep. Ruben Gallego] created,” she said.

Lake said her Democratic opponent Gallego, who is vying to succeed retiring Sen. Kyrsten Sinema, I-Ariz., has “rubber stamped” Biden-Harris border agenda items.

Lake added that Harris, Walz and Gallego represent the “three musketeers of nightmarish policy.”

In that regard, Lake dismissed claims Republicans are not united behind her after she narrowly lost her previous state gubernatorial bid to Democratic Gov. Katie Hobbs.

She noted that Karrin Taylor Robson — with whom she had a contentious 2022 gubernatorial primary — endorsed her, while also pointing out the prevalence of everyday-American Democrats who have voiced support for her bid.

9/11 TERRORIST FEARS TRUMP WILL GET ELECTED AND EXECUTE HIM

At the event, held at a Maricopa County Republican Party office in Chandler, Lake was flanked by U.S. Reps. Eli Crane and Andy Biggs, as well as the families affected by the open border.

Among those in attendance were parents who lost children to the fentanyl crisis, as well as a local resident and former Democratic voter, Jade Gillon, who said, as an African American, she supports Trump because life was better under his administration, regardless of race.

Lake invited Gillon to the podium to offer remarks in which she contrasted her life under Trump versus Biden.

“I’m working six days this week,” Gillon said, going on to suggest Democrats engage in fearmongering against Trump.

“I’m doing worse under this administration than Donald Trump’s administration — yet I’m told to be afraid of a man who made my life better? Make it make sense.”

During his remarks, Crane criticized the media for failing to report on concerns about Biden’s acuity, while claiming Walz’ controversy over his true military record is “pretty standard in D.C.”

“I think one of the things I’m most concerned about when I look at Kamala and her VP choice is how cozy they are with socialism,” Crane added.

“Some of the things that they’ve said about socialism and how it’s next to, or liken it to being a good neighbor, if that’s what you guys want. If that’s what the American people want, we can continue to ride this pain train.”

In response, Gallego For Arizona campaign spokesperson Hannah Goss countered the Democrat is a Marine combat vet who indeed believes in border security and has fought to hire more border agents while in Congress.

“[Gallego has fought to] fix our broken asylum system, crack down on fentanyl trafficking, and invest in proven technology — all to increase our border security,” Goss said.

“Meanwhile, Kari Lake is a power-hungry liar who will do or say anything to gain power, even if it means launching desperate, false attacks on Ruben’s record.”

Thursday’s event also highlighted the coalition “Democrats & Former Democrats for Kari Lake & America First” following Harris’ campaign’s announcement of “Republicans for Harris.”

Gallego similarly launched “Republicans and Independents for Ruben” in the key swing state. Gallego notably also voted with the otherwise Republican majority on the “Laken Riley Act.”

Fox News Digital reached out to the Harris campaign for comment.

Olympic gold medalist takes subtle dig at ‘arrogant’ and ‘loud’ Noah Lyles

Olympic gold medalist Letsile Tebogo took a subtle dig at his American counterpart, Noah Lyles, after he was asked about becoming the face of men’s track following his victory in the 200-meter final on Thursday.

Tebogo, making his Olympic debut, stunned the field to win gold in the men’s 200m final after failing to medal in the 100m final earlier in the week. Lyles, who won gold in that race, settled for the bronze medal in the 200m before it was later revealed that he had contracted COVID-19 days earlier.

After the race, the runner from Botswana sat alongside defending silver medalist Kenneth Bednarek of Team USA to discuss his victory.

Tebogo fielded several questions, including one about his aspirations in the sport and whether his goal is to become the face of men’s track. Tebogo conceded that Lyles is better suited for that role, but he appeared to make a subtle dig at Lyles’ disposition.

“I think for me, I can’t be the face of athletics because I’m not an arrogant or loud person like Noah [Lyles],” he told the room full of reporters.

“So, I believe Noah is the face of athletics.”

NOAH LYLES SETTLES FOR BRONZE IN MEN’S 200M, LEAVES TRACK IN WHEELCHAIR AFTER TESTING POSITIVE FOR COVID

Bednarek did not respond to the remark made about his teammate.

Lyles has not shied away from his excellence in the sport. After winning three gold medals in last year’s world championships, he received backlash for suggesting that other athletes, like NBA players, didn’t have the right to call themselves world champions.

“I have to watch the NBA Finals, and they have ‘world champion’ on their head. World champion of what?” Lyles said at the time. “The United States? Don’t get me wrong. I love the U.S. at times, but that ain’t the world. That is not the world.”

Lyles won the United States’ first gold medal in the men’s 100m since 2004 this week and was hoping to further stake his claim as the sport’s best by becoming the first American to win the 100m and 200m since 1984.

He was unable to do so, and he will likely not participate in Friday’s 4x100m relay either.

“I believe this will be the end of my 2024 Olympics. It is not the Olympics I dreamed of, but it has left me with so much Joy in my heart,” Lyles wrote on social media Thursday. “I hope everyone enjoyed the show. Whether you were rooting for me or against me, you have to admit you watched, didn’t you?”

He signed off on the message, writing: “Sincerely, Your world’s fastest man for the next 4 years!”
