Bodycam footage shows how chaotic traffic stop escalated to cuffs for NFL star Tyreek Hill

The Miami-Dade Police Department on Monday released officers’ bodycam footage of the incident involving Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill.

Miami-Dade Police Director Stephane V. Daniels said more than an hour of footage was going to be released as part of a commitment to transparency. An investigation into the incident is ongoing, and an officer involved in the situation was placed on “administrative duties.”

The footage starts with police officers pulling up next to Hill’s car and telling him he was speeding. Hill asks how fast he was going but is instructed to pull over.

The officer knocks on the window and Hill tells the officer not to knock on his window like that as he hands over his driver’s license. Hill then tells the officer to give him his ticket and rolls the window back up. The officer demands that Hill keep his window down.

“Keep your window down, or I’m going to get you out of the car. As a matter of fact, get out of the car,” the officer says.

A second officer threatens to break the window.

“We’re not playing this game,” another officer says as the bodycam shows one officer opening the door, reaching into Hill’s car and pulling him out with a third officer’s help.

“Hey Drew, I’m getting arrested Drew,” Hill is heard saying, apparently speaking with his agent, Drew Rosenhaus.

One officer says, “When we tell you to do something, you do it, not what you want but when we tell you. You’re a little f—ing confused.”

DOLPHINS’ TYREEK HILL WAS ‘UNCOOPERATIVE’ DURING DETENTION BEFORE GAME, POLICE UNION SAYS

“Take me to jail, bruh. Do what you got to do,” Hill responds while lying on the ground.

A bystander in a separate vehicle near the incident appears to ask what is happening with Hill. The wide receiver responds, “I didn’t do nothing.”

Officers appeared to forcefully guide Hill to a sitting position on the curb next to his car. Hill told them he had surgery on his knee as he was going down, and one officer asked if he had surgery on his ears.

Another officer on the scene asks the officer whose bodycam footage was released if he knows the man who is sitting on the ground. The officer on the bodycam says he doesn’t know who he is, and the other officer responds, “That’s one of the Dolphins’ star players.”

The officer wearing the bodycam explains to a superior what happened. In the background, Hill is yelling, “I’m just being a Black man, that’s it.”

Hill was issued traffic citations and left in the passenger seat of his car with Rosenhaus.

Dolphins defensive lineman Calais Campbell then walks up to the scene with his hands up about four minutes into the footage. He is ordered to back away from the scene or that he will be handcuffed as well. Campbell says he wants to know what happened.

Campbell was later placed in handcuffs.

The officer who addressed Campbell also spoke to Jonnu Smith, who had pulled over to make sure everything was OK. The officer demanded Smith’s license.

The lawyers for the officer who was placed on administrative duties following the incident released a statement to Fox News Digital later Monday.

“While we believe the decision to place our client on leave was premature, we respect Director Daniels’ call for a thorough review of the incident involving Mr. Tyreek Hill, a stance we fully support,” lawyers Ignacio Alvarez of ALGO Law Firm and Israel Reyes of the Reyes Law Firm said. “We urge all parties to refrain from making public statements that may misrepresent our client’s actions and mislead the public about Mr. Hill’s detainment.

“We call for our client’s immediate reinstatement, and a complete, thorough, and objective investigation, as Director Daniels has also advocated. Our client will not comment until this investigation is concluded and the facts are fully revealed.”

Ex-NFL star throws himself into Brittany Mahomes controversy: ‘White People for Trump’

Former NFL star Antonio Brown played into the social media controversy surrounding Brittany Mahomes on Sunday, as she was pictured with Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce over the weekend.

Mahomes, along with her husband Patrick Mahomes, joined Swift and Kelce at Flushing Meadows in New York City to watch Jannik Sinner win the U.S. Open over Taylor Fritz.

It was the first time Brittany Mahomes and Swift were spotted together since the entrepreneur drew ire for liking a post from former President Donald Trump and supportive comments of her decision.

Brown made a snide remark on a post on X.

“White People for Trump,” he wrote in a post along with Brittany Mahomes, Swift and Kelce.

Mahomes’ apparent social media like kickstarted a social media firestorm over the last few weeks. She first indicated her support for Trump on Aug. 13, when she liked Trump’s Instagram post that outlined the “2024 GOP platform.” The swimsuit model then appeared to respond to the criticism on her Instagram Stories.

“I mean honestly, To be a hater as an adult, you have to have some deep rooted issues you refuse to heal from childhood,” she wrote. “There’s no reason your brain is fully developed and you hate to see others doing well.”

She posted another cryptic message on her social media.

TAYLOR SWIFT, BRITTANY MAHOMES HUG IT OUT AT US OPEN, HIT THE TOWN FOR DOUBLE DATE AMID TRUMP CONTROVERSY

“Contrary to the tone of the world today….you can disagree with someone, and still love them. You can have differing views, and still be kind,” she wrote on Aug. 26. “Read that again!”

Brittany Mahomes was then caught liking supportive comments of her stance.

Trump then thanked her for her apparent support.

“I want to thank beautiful Brittany Mahomes for so strongly defending me, and the fact that MAGA is the greatest and most powerful Political Movement in the History of our now Failing Country,” Trump wrote.

“With Crime and Illegal Immigration totally out of control, INFLATION Ravaging all Americans, and a World that is laughing at the stupidity of our hapless “leaders,” it is nice to see someone who loves our Country, and wants to save it from DOOM. What a great couple – See you both at the Super Bowl!”

Swift fans appeared to be unhappy with the pop star’s friendship with Brittany Mahomes at the time, while all of it led to more concerns about a potential rift between the two on Thursday, when they were not pictured together.

New report exposes China’s role in destroying US families with deadly drug

FIRST ON FOX: A new report is shining the spotlight on the role that China plays in fueling the ongoing fentanyl crisis in the United States, calling for more action against the communist geopolitical foe from the federal government.

The Heritage Foundation released the report, a copy of which was obtained early by Fox News Digital, called “Holding China and Mexico Accountable for America’s Fentanyl Crisis.”

The report, by Andrés Martínez-Fernández and Andrew J. Harding, noted the massive numbers of deaths linked to the drug, which can be fatal in small doses and is estimated to have killed 75,000 Americans in 2023.

CITY IN FLORIDA PROVIDING $1M IN OPIOID SETTLEMENT MONEY TO NONPROFITS FIGHTING OPIOID EPIDEMIC

“At the heart of this crisis is an intricate global partnership bringing together America’s top geopolitical adversary and powerful transnational criminal organizations,” they said.

Officials have frequently said that illicit fentanyl is created in Mexico using Chinese precursors and is then smuggled across the border by drug cartels. It is often laced in other drugs so that users do not know they are ingesting fentanyl.

The authors argue that while the Mexican role in the crisis is widely known, the Chinese moves are largely unknown.

“Indeed, unknown to most Americans, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) is actively funding, supporting, and pushing America’s most deadly drug threat in history. The combined forces of deadly Mexican drug cartels and hostile Chinese ambitions have delivered to the United States a destabilizing crisis and a death toll that each year eclipses the total of U.S. casualties from the Vietnam War,” they wrote.

They note congressional reports that found the CCP directly subsidizes the manufacturing and export of illicit fentanyl materials, as well as a tax rebate program that actually incentivizes the export of some fentanyl precursors in a way the authors say undercuts Chinese claims that they cannot control illegal activities by smugglers and cannot identify which manufacturers are exporting them.

“It may also be possible that China might not have a full understanding of the specific precursor shipment volumes because it does not allocate a sufficient number of inspectors over its pharmaceutical chemical manufacturing industries,” they wrote.

The report finds that chemicals are arriving through air cargo, postal facilities and maritime routes. The authors also point to reports of an increased Chinese role in networks in Canada.

OREGON REVERSES COURSE AND RECRIMINALIZES DRUG POSSESSION

The Biden administration has taken a number of moves to crack down on the fentanyl crisis, including greater access to treatment and increased funding and technology at ports of entry, where the majority of fentanyl is seized. The report notes that the Treasury has sanctioned dozens of individuals and entities involved with smuggling, and has used diplomacy to get China to pledge tougher action against suppliers.

However, the authors warned that those successes “are likely to ring hollow,” arguing that China has historically used negotiations to get other concessions from the U.S.

“Furthermore, China’s announcements “don’t carry substantial costs for [its] chemicals industry,” meaning, as long as suppliers can evade rules—which has been documented for years, the production of fentanyl precursors will continue to prove profitable,” they continued. “If past patterns are repeated, then the Biden Administration’s fentanyl diplomacy is unlikely to curtail this deadly scourge.”

The report also criticizes what it calls “complicity” between corrupt Mexican officials and narco-smugglers, arguing that the government has shed the pretext of going after the cartels.

The report recommends that the U.S. strategy must accept that it “lacks good-faith partners in both the Chinese and Mexican governments.” Instead, they argue that the U.S. should ask U.S. intelligence agencies to publicly expose Chinese involvement in fentanyl trafficking, including increasing penalties for financial institutions.

They argue the U.S. should also facilitate the reshoring and nearshoring of the pharmaceutical supply chains away from China to areas with a competitive advantage, while also working to uncover Mexican “complicity” in the crisis.

“If the U.S. government continues to passively accept the fentanyl crisis as simply another illicit drug challenge and fails to prevent the CCP from facilitating this deadly trade, hundreds of thousands—if not millions—of Americans are at risk of losing their lives,” they said.

Pelosi echoes Clinton’s ‘basket of deplorables’ moment with comment about ‘racist’ voters

AUSTIN, Texas – Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., suggested that “30%” of Republican voters will never vote for Democrats because of their racism, sexism and homophobia.

Speaking at the 2024 Texas Tribune Festival on Saturday, Pelosi was pressed by podcast host Kara Swisher on why the presidential race between Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Trump is so close.

“There are people who will never be, shall we say, inclined to support Democrats because of – they just have a different orientation toward women, people of color, LGBTQ, you know, they just are not ever going to be there,” Pelosi said. “So, say that’s about like 30% or something like that… of the Republicans.

“And then you have very, very rich people who do not really want to pay taxes or have any regulation of clean air, clean water, any of that. So you have to deal with that. Now, it’s not as many very, very rich people, but it’s a lot of money that goes into a campaign.”

“But here’s where I think we have to be as respectful and understanding as possible,” she continued. “There are people who are concerned. They have fear of globalization. They saw the factory down the road move overseas. They’re fearful of innovation. Their father is a truck driver, and now they’re gonna have auto-“

“Autonomous truck,” Swisher interjected.

“Yeah,” Pelosi replied. “And so the innovation, globalization, and they include immigration… So, understandably, these people have a concern about the future for themselves, but also for their children.”

CNN PANEL REACTS TO PELOSI REVEALING SHE AND BIDEN HAVEN’T SPOKEN SINCE HE DROPPED OUT: ‘SHE’S IN CHARGE’

Pelosi later told Swisher that she believed Trump has as much support as he does because he’s a good “snake oil salesman.”

Pelosi’s comments resemble Hillary Clinton’s infamous “basket of deplorables” comment during the 2016 election about Trump supporters.

“You can put half of Trump’s supporters into what I call a basket of deplorables,” Clinton said at a campaign event. “They’re racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, Islamophobic, you name it. And unfortunately, there are people like that and he has lifted them up.”

During the same conversation, Pelosi suggested Trump would be a no-show at the ABC News Presidential Debate on Tuesday.

When asked what debate advice she’d give Trump, Pelosi quipped, “You think he’s gonna show up?”

Bruce Springsteen’s wife announces heartbreaking health diagnosis

Bruce Springsteen’s wife, Patti Scialfa, has revealed that she’s been battling a form of blood cancer for the last six years.

At the Toronto Film Festival premiere of Springsteen’s documentary, “Road Diary: Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band,” Scialfa announced that she had been diagnosed with multiple myeloma in 2018. Per the Mayo Clinic, multiple myeloma is “a cancer that forms in a type of white blood cell called a plasma cell.”

Due to her health concerns, Scialfa took a step away from her and Springsteen’s E Street Band’s current tour, which kicked off in February 2023 and will conclude in July 2025.

“Touring has become a challenge for me,” Scialfa said in the documentary, per the Associated Press. “This affects my immune system, so I just have to be careful what I choose to do and where I choose to go.”

The guitarist added, “Every once in a while, I come to a show or two and I can sing a few songs on stage, and that’s been a treat. That’s the new normal for me right now, and I’m OK with that.”

“Touring has become a challenge for me. This affects my immune system so I just have to be careful what I choose to do and where I choose to go.”

Scialfa joined the E Street Band in 1984 and married Springsteen in 1991. It was during the “Springsteen on Broadway” residency when she was first given her cancer diagnosis.

Patti has previously spoken about stepping away from touring, but did not mention her health being the reason. In 2023, Scialfa told the Asbury Park Press that she stepped away from the E Street Band’s tour to spend time with her grandchild.

Springsteen and Scialfa’s son, Son, welcomed daughter, Lily, in July 2022.

“I didn’t feel as needed in a way because there were a lot of musicians on stage,” she told the outlet at the time. “I did the first couple of shows, and as I saw how it was all rolling, I thought, ‘This is good. This is completely intact. There’s not much room for me to add anything special.’ “

“And the main thing was I have a record that I couldn’t have finished when Bruce was home because he’s in the studio all the time,” she continued. “So I took that opportunity to do my record.”

Springsteen has been battling his own health concerns over the past year.

Since the initial postponement of his tour last summer due to a peptic ulcer that made singing so painful he couldn’t do it for months, health issues have continued to plague Springsteen.

The “Born in the U.S.A” singer had to postpone all concerts within a 10-day period per doctors’ orders in May.

“Following yesterday’s postponement in Marseille due to vocal issues, further examination and consulting has led doctors to determine that Bruce should not perform for the next ten days,” a statement on his Instagram read.

“With this in mind, additional postponements are required for Airport Letnany in Prague (originally scheduled for May 28) and San Siro Stadium in Milan (originally scheduled for June 1 and 3). New dates for these shows will be announced shortly. Those wishing a refund will be able to obtain it at their original point of purchase. Bruce is recuperating comfortably, and he and the E Street Band look forward to resuming their hugely successful European stadium tour on June 12 in Madrid at the magnificent Civitas Metropolitan.”

Residents outraged at influx in small city as migrant controversy hits heartland

Residents of a small Alabama city were up in arms at the migrant influx during a recent city council hearing that lawmakers suddenly cut short amid the outcry.

Meanwhile, state leaders demanded answers from the feds as the migrants appear to be in the country legally under Temporary Protective Status provisions extended to Haitian nationals by Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas.

In Sylacauga, just south of NASCAR’s Talladega Superspeedway, City Council President Tiffany Nix abruptly curtailed public comment as residents demanded accountability for the at least 50 migrants that appeared in the city.

“We’re done,” Nix responded to resident David Phillips, who had criticized council’s attitude as “entirely unacceptable” during the meeting last week.

“[Haiti is] a failed state – their president (Jovenel Moise) was assassinated in 2021 – there is no way the State Department can vet these individuals,” Phillips said before Nix cut in as another resident called out, “Please let him talk.”

MIGRANT CRISIS ROILS BOSTON AREA AS SCHOOL STANDS FIRM ON RESIDENCY POLICY

Nix then made a motion to adjourn the meeting and ordered the gallery cleared.

“This is our city,” a woman in the gallery said. “Good to know, they don’t want to hear the truth,” another said.

Another resident wondered aloud how local schools will be able to handle the new migrants, noting that financial resources would be needed for children that only speak French-Creole and not English.

Amid the murmuring, Nix could be heard asking, “What would you like us to do?”

Earlier in the meeting, Nix said there is no reason to launch a municipal investigation and that people should not treat others “differently because of how they look.”

State Rep. Benjamin Robbins, who represents the city, wrote a letter Thursday to Mayorkas, demanding a federal response.

“As the secretary of Homeland Security, you are charged with overseeing immigration enforcement and refugee resettlement,” he wrote.

“Recently, my district has seen an influx of Haitian immigrants. You and your agency have failed in your responsibility to notify our community of the relocation of refugees, provide any information to local leaders or answer questions.”

Robbins said the situation has caused “panic and confusion” and left local leaders “helpless.” Robbins said he would demand Congress investigate if DHS does nothing.

Sylacauga Mayor Jim Heigl separately told Alabama’s 1819 News that information the migrants were in his city legally “came out from [Gov. Kay Ivey’s] office and also came from Mike Rogers’ office, [Sen.] Katie Britt’s office and [Sen. Tommy] Tuberville’s office.

BIDEN’S LATEST BORDER ORDER MAY EMBOLDEN MIGRANTS TO FLOUT IMMIGRATION LAWS, COMMIT MARRIAGE FRAUD CRITICS SAY

Rogers, the chair of the House Armed Services Committee, called the situation in his district “yet another example of the Biden-Harris administration’s moronic immigration policy failures.”

“Those two never cease to amaze me with their total incompetence and outright antagonism toward hardworking Americans. The way to fix this is to re-elect President Trump,” Rogers said.

Alabama House Speaker Nathaniel Ledbetter added his biggest concern is the lack of information from the feds on the migrants already inside the state.

“We have asked repeatedly,” said Ledbetter, R-Rainsville. “Once they are here, communities like Sylacauga and Albertville are left to deal with the disaster. Our schools don’t have the ESL resources to support the immigrant children, housing these people is an issue, crime is an issue, and the federal government has offered zero support whatsoever.”

Tuberville told Fox News Digital the feds are abusing their parole authority, which he said is supposed to be used sparingly and only for humanitarian purposes.

Instead, he said the administration is using it as a tool of “mass amnesty to millions of people.”

“We have no idea who most of these people are,” Tuberville said.

Fox News Digital reached out to the city and was directed to Nix’s email but did not receive a response.

Meanwhile, in Montgomery, state Senate President Pro-Tempore Greg Reed, R-Jasper, said Monday the Biden administration has allowed millions of illegal immigrants to “pour in” and cause a crisis.

“The immigration catastrophe they have … openly incentivized is hitting home right now for Americans across the country, including right here in Alabama,” he said.

“Alabama officials are prepared to use the tools at our disposal to clean up the mess and confusion their reckless policies have created,” Reed went on, adding that the crisis in Sylacauga emphasizes the importance of the presidential election.

A spokesperson for Ivey responded to a question about the mayor’s comments by saying her office has not received any facts or communications from the feds or to local officials on the matter.

“Separately though, Alabamians and Americans all over the country are rightfully concerned over the current Biden-Harris pro-illegal immigration policies. No doubt this is a contributing factor to the concerns of people in Sylacauga and other areas,” Gina Maiola said.

“People are on high alert. Gov. Ivey will continue taking action to enforce the law, doing everything in Alabama’s authority to secure the U.S. southern border and protecting our citizens from the harmful effects of illegal immigration.”

DHS did not respond to a request for comment for this story.

Polling guru predicts former President Trump’s chances of winning electoral college

Polling guru Nate Silver and his election prediction model gave Donald Trump a 63.8% chance of winning the Electoral College in an update to his latest election forecast on Sunday, after a NYT-Siena College poll found the former president leading Vice President Kamala Harris by 1 percentage point.

Harris has come out ahead in several national polls and swing state polls since taking over the top of the ticket. However, the results of the new NYT/Siena College poll, according to Silver, show that the results of the poll confirmed his election model’s view that there was a “shift in momentum” in the race.

The NYT/Siena college poll also found more voters said Harris is “too liberal or progressive” on key policy issues than voters who said they considered Trump to be “too conservative.”

According to his model, Harris has just a 36% chance of winning the Electoral College, and overall, leads Trump by 2.5 points in Silver’s national polling average.

NATE SILVER REVEALS THE ONE BATTLEGROUND STATE THAT COULD SPELL TROUBLE FOR KAMALA HARRIS

“A new New York Times/Siena College poll this morning contained excellent news for Donald Trump, showing him 1 point ahead in a head-to-head matchup against Kamala Harris and 2 points up with minor candidates included. This is one of our highest-rated pollsters, so it has a fair amount of influence on the numbers, reducing Harris’s lead in our national polling average to 2.5 points, which would put her in dangerous territory in the Electoral College,” Silver wrote in the update at 11 a.m. on Sunday.

Silver initially wrote on Wednesday that Trump’s chances of winning the Electoral College have increased from 52.4% to 58.2% since the end of August. Harris’ odds had decreased from 47.3% to 41.6% in that same time frame.

Silver also noted that if Harris performed well in the debate, the NYT poll might not matter.

“The good news for Harris is that there’s a debate on Tuesday, and if she turns in a strong performance, nobody is going to care so much about the Times poll. We’ll have a longer narrative update on the state of the race coming later today,” he wrote.

Silver also said on Wednesday that Michigan and Pennsylvania, both key swing states, might prove to be a problem for her.

“In PA, our polling averages had Harris +1.8 pre-DNC, but it’s now Harris +1.0. That’s before any convention bounce adjustment, which is implemented at a later stage of the model. In MI, the polling average has fallen from Harris +3.1 pre-DNC to Harris +1.9 now,” he wrote on X.

Silver pointed to multiple key portions of the NYT poll in an additional post on Sunday, specifically the fact that 47% of voters see Harris as too liberal.

“I’m not quite sure how Harris is supposed to spin her way out of this perception,” Silver wrote, noting that a high percentage of voters said they don’t know what Harris stands for in the poll, suggesting there was room to improve on those numbers.

“But Harris also blew one big opportunity to tack to the center with her selection of Tim Walz rather than Josh Shapiro: that a tiny minority of progressives objected to Shapiro was an argument in Shapiro’s favor, if anything. I think Walz was a decent enough pick on his own merits, but given an opportunity to offer a tangible signal of the direction her presidency was headed, she reverted to 2019 mode,” Silver wrote.

Residents from tiny town fume about massive chaos from 20,000 Haitian migrants

Residents in Ohio are fuming about the cultural clash between locals and Haitian migrants at city council meetings, demanding the city take action on the issue.

Thousands of Haitians have arrived in Springfield since the COVID-19 pandemic, and residents have been pointing to an uptick in crime, mayhem and car crashes due to the massive influx of new residents. In a town of 58,000 people, about 20,000 Haitians have arrived, according to city officials

“I see what’s going on in the streets. And I see you guys sitting up there and, comfy chairs and suits… I really challenge you guys to get out here and do something,” said Anthony Harris, 28. “These Haitians are running into trash cans. They’re running into buildings. They’re flipping cars in the middle of the street, and I don’t know how like, y’all can be comfortable with this.”

SCIENTIST CALLS FOR AMERICANS TO CUT OFF AIR CONDITIONING IN SUMMER, CLAIMING IT CAUSES GLOBAL WARMING

Resident Lisa Hayes, 64, recounted an incident where migrants were bullying her at a supermarket. They blocked her cart and refused to let her pass through the aisle.

“I don’t know what kind of label you put on this,” she said, perplexed by the incident. “I would like to see them have some common respect.”

Residents mentioned how migrants are crowding public areas, hitting people with cars – and some said the city needed to start giving driving lessons.

Resident Diana Daniels blamed cultural clashes for the issues. “Countries… are defined by their culture and their language, not the color. When folks stand up here and describe what is happening to them, they are often painted with the broad brush of racism that has nothing to do with it.”

“Shame on you,” she told city leadership.

At another hearing, a woman named Noel said she doesn’t feel safe in Springfield anymore and that migrants are camping out near her home.

“I try to help them the best I can to keep them from trying to squat on my property. But it is so unsafe. I have learned they cannot speak English in my front yard, they’re screaming at me, throwing mattresses in my front yard, throwing trash in my front yard,” she said.

“Look at me, I weigh 95 pounds. I couldn’t defend myself if I had to ‘pack up and move.’”

“It’s killing both of us mentally,” she continued. “I don’t understand what you expect of us as citizens… Who’s protecting me? I want out of this town. I am sorry. Please give me a reason to stay.”

“How do you know we aren’t getting criminals, rapists?” a man in a blue Harley-Davidson T-shirt said during a hearing about the migrant issue after a bus crash killed the son of two teachers.

Another resident called out general failures in leadership. “When am I getting my money back?” he said.
