Tiffany Henyard, the self-anointed “supermayor” of a Chicago suburb, is under fire after she threw an $85,000 party that featured R&B singer Keke Wyatt and rapper J. Holiday last month, but hardly anyone attended, according to media reports.
Henyard, the mayor of Dolton, Ilinois, has come under heavy criticism for her spending of taxpayer funds for first-class travel, concerts and more.
“That was a flop,” former Dolton trustee Valeria Stubbs, who went to see the mini-concert for herself at the “Taste of Thorton Township” event, told WGN-TV.

Wyatt was paid $30,000 to sing for 30 minutes. J. Holiday was paid $20,000 for a half-hour set, according to records obtained by the news outlet through the Freedom of Information Act.
The township spent another $6,600 to rent inflatable bounce houses. Other costs included money for comedians, a sound system, staff and equipment.
In total, the gig costs taxpayers at least $85,769.
“I was flabbergasted,” Lansing resident Jennifer Robertz told the news outlet. “I was pissed off. That’s my money. That’s the people’s money.”

Henyard, a Democrat, has feuded with residents and local officials over her excessive spending and corruption allegations. She recently extended the impasse with the Village of Dolton’s Board of Trustees when she proceeded with a board meeting despite it being postponed by trustees.
At the meeting, she declared that she cleaned up the village despite its finances being plunged into the red.
Henyard has vetoed the board’s request to launch a federal investigation into her alleged misuse of funds and also vetoed their hiring of former Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot, who has been tasked with leading a special investigation into the mayor.
In May, the board appointed a mayor pro tempore to serve in place of Henyard should she refuse to execute her duties. Lightfoot’s investigation into the town’s financial situation revealed in a preliminary report that Dolton’s general fund balance was $5.61 million in 2022, but by May 2024 the balance had dropped to a deficit of $3.65 million.

TIME Magazine issues correction for claim on Harris’ support for far-left policy
Time magazine was forced to correct its coverage of the ABC News Presidential Debate after implying former President Trump’s statement that Vice President Kamala Harris supported free gender transition treatment for detained migrants was “false.”
During the ABC News Presidential Debate Tuesday night, Trump remarked on Harris’ old position as one of many left-wing issues she appeared to have walked back on since running for president.
“Now she wants to do transgender operations on illegal aliens who are in prison,” Trump said.
Though Harris pledged she would support taxpayer-funded gender care for detained migrants in an ACLU candidate questionnaire during her first presidential campaign, TIME Magazine first reported the statement as “false.”

Fox News Digital reached out to TIME for a comment.
Many other far-left reporters also considered it too absurd to be true, implying Trump made the concept up during the debate.
“’She wants to do transgender operations on illegal aliens who are in prison’ is the WILDEST thing I’ve ever heard in any debate. EVER,” former CNN commentator Marc Lamont Hill wrote.
The New Yorker staff writer Susan Glasser wrote, “Trump made history last night for sure. Who will ever forget him ranting on stage about immigrants eating people’s dogs? Or insisting that the Vice President ‘wants to do transgender operations on illegal aliens that are in jail’?”
She also mocked the line in her piece about the debate Wednesday.
“His line about how the Vice-President ‘wants to do transgender operations on illegal aliens that are in prison’ was pretty memorable, too. What the hell was he talking about? No one knows, which was, of course, exactly Harris’s point,” Glasser wrote.
The Atlantic staff writer Jennifer Senior joked, “’Transgender operations on illegal aliens’ is really unfair to those Americans playing drinking games.”
“’Now she wants to do transgender operations on illegal aliens who are in prison.’ That’s verbatim,” The Insider editor Michael Weiss reported.
The Daily Beast also listed Trump’s quote as one of the “best memes” of the night without mentioning Harris’ past support.
CNN brought Harris’ position back into the spotlight Monday night after senior editor Andrew Kaczynski reported to host Erin Burnett about the recently uncovered 2019 ACLU candidate questionnaire featuring Harris’ policy position.
“It is important that transgender individuals who rely on the state for care receive the treatment they need, which includes access to treatment associated with gender transition. That’s why, as Attorney General, I pushed the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation to provide gender transition surgery to state inmates,” Harris pledged.
She continued, “I support policies ensuring that federal prisoners and detainees are able to obtain medically necessary care for gender transition, including surgical care, while incarcerated or detained. Transition treatment is a medical necessity, and I will direct all federal agencies responsible for providing essential medical care to deliver transition treatment.”

Burnett was stunned by Harris’ answer.
“Taxpayer-funded gender transition surgeries for detained migrants? She actually said she supported that?” Burnett asked incredulously.
She later remarked, “I mean these are things that you know, it would be hard to think that you would come up with taxpayer-funding gender transitions for detained migrants, and yet as you say, written and verbally.”
In an interview with Fox News’ “America’s Newsroom” Tuesday, Harris spokesperson Michael Tyler denied that position was part of her current campaign.

Major turn of events in the deaths of Chiefs fans who ‘froze to death’ at friend’s watch party
Nine months after three Kansas City Chiefs fans were found dead in their friend’s snowy backyard, the homeowner’s attorney believes that criminal charges will finally be levied in their deaths — but not against his client.
On Jan. 9, 37-year-old Clayton McGeeney, 38-year-old Ricky Johnson and 36-year-old David Harrington were found dead on Jordan Willis’ Kansas City property by McGeeney’s fiancée. Two days earlier, they had come to Willis’ home to watch the Chiefs play the Los Angeles Chargers. Willis could not be reached by phone and did not answer his door in the days that the families searched for their relatives who never returned home.
Although preliminary autopsy results shared with the media by family members indicate that fentanyl, cocaine and marijuana were in their systems, the deceased men’s families have maintained that Willis was involved in their deaths, with some threatening to file civil suits against the homeowner.
On Tuesday, Willis’ attorney John Picerno told Fox News Digital that “charges [will be] forthcoming in the next few weeks,” based on “internal conversations” with prosecutors.

“I can say with confidence that my client will not be charged in that regard,” Picerno said. “My client will not be charged in any manner with having to do with the untimely death of his friends.”
When asked who would face criminal charges in the men’s deaths, Picerno replied, “The criminal liability could be for a felony murder charge if somebody provided those young men with drugs.”
Fox News Digital previously reported that a fifth man, who Fox News Digital has chosen not to name unless criminal charges are filed, was in Willis’ home at Northwest 83rd Terrace on Jan. 7 — but that man told Fox 4 that he left while the men were still watching the game, and he stressed that he was not the last person to see them alive.
That fifth man’s attorney could not be reached for comment by Fox News Digital.

Picerno said that the length of the probe, which the Kansas City Police Department has repeatedly characterized as a death investigation rather than a homicide investigation, is “definitely out of the ordinary.”
He also said his client voluntarily handed over all his electronic devices to police early in the investigation, along with DNA samples.
“I don’t know what caused this investigation to go on for nine months,” Picerno said. “That would be a better question answered by the prosecutors.”
“There is nothing to report or comment on at this time,” a representative from the Platte County Prosecutor’s Office told Fox News Digital. “It’s still an ongoing investigation. I assume when something is done, [Platte County Prosecutor] Eric [Zahnd] will be doing a press release. We don’t have a timeline to report, unfortunately.”
The Kansas City Police Department could not be reached for comment at press time.

Although he is “confident” that his client will avoid criminal prosecution, Picerno said that civil charges are likely on his horizon. He said he has been contacted by attorneys representing the men’s families and noted that the statute of limitations on these types of cases is five years in Missouri.
Jennifer Marquez, David Harrington’s mother, told Fox News Digital that this is “the first [she’s] heard” of movement in the case. Until she hears further news from the prosecutor’s office, she said she will “keep [herself] calm and not get any hopes up.”
“Of course I am extremely happy to hear that there may be something going on,” she said on Tuesday.
“I have not been told anything,” she continued. “They just have not relayed any information to us, the families, though, so I have nothing as far as information. We’ve not been getting the autopsies or any information like that. They do not want us to be able to release anything that would hurt the case, I guess.”
“Of course, I would love to see people held responsible for this and I believe Jordan should be held responsible,” Marquez said. “It was his home, he had the party, and, you know.”
Jordan Willis, who moved out of his Kansas City home and enrolled into a rehabilitation program after his friends’ deaths, has had his “life changed forever,” Picerno said.

“It’s an awful thing when people have already presumed you’re guilty without real evidence,” Picerno said. “It’s a tough road to home, and he’s managing it as best he can.”
A source close to the Willis family told Fox News Digital that the 39-year-old Ph.D. holder and research scientist “still struggles with the aftermath of all of this.”
“[He] not only lost good friends of his, but [had] many people turn on him,” the source said.
“It affected every part of his life, and he’s doing the best he can,” the source continued. “He has been helping with his dad’s care this year, and trying to stay positive.”

Country singer Joshua Ray Walker shared with his fans that his colon cancer has spread to his lungs since he was first diagnosed in 2023.
Walker took to Instagram on Sept. 10 to share a health update and announce he has some “good and bad news” to share.
“The good news is that I’ve finished chemo treatment! It was extremely tough, and I want to thank y’all so much for supporting me through this experience. My body handled it reasonably well, and I’ve begun to rebuild my strength and immune system!” Walker began.

Earthquake rattles Los Angeles area during morning rush hour commute
A major earthquake shook the Los Angeles area in the middle of the morning rush hour on Thursday.
The United States Geological Survey has given a preliminary measurement of 4.7 for the earthquake, but the measure remains fluid. The USGS says the quake originated more than 4 miles north of Malibu.
An aftershock of roughly 2.8 magnitude also shook the Los Angeles area shortly after the original quake.
Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass said fire authorities are surveying the city. There were no immediate reports of injuries.

The quake originated about 7 miles below the surface, and the jolt was felt as far as 45 miles away, the USGS said.

TikTok ‘Scarface’ star bizarrely claps as judge sentences him to ‘die in prison’
A former San Diego TikTok star will spend the rest of his life in prison for killing his estranged wife and her lover in October 2021, a judge ruled Friday during a heated proceeding.
Ali Abulaban, 32, who went by “JinnKid” on social media, was sentenced to two consecutive prison sentences of 25 years to life, without the possibility of parole, for the murders of his wife, Ana Abulaban, 28, and Rayburn Cardenas Barron, 29, at the Spire San Diego luxury apartment complex in the East Village, which he admitted to during trial.
Ali testified during his trial in May that he could not stop shooting Ana and Barron after finding them in bed together. He was convicted in May of two counts of first-degree murder, NBC San Diego reported.

The convicted killer went by JinnKid on TikTok and had approximately 940,000 followers at the time of the murders. “He is a very talented actor. When I saw the ‘Scarface’ videos, it’s as if when he committed these crimes, he became that persona of Scarface,” San Diego Superior Court Judge Jeffrey Fraser said of Ali during the hearing. “Just the cold-blooded killing without remorse.”

During the trial, prosecutors said Ana asked Ali to move out before he checked into a hotel and later snuck back into the high-rise apartment he shared with his wife. He allegedly trashed the apartment and installed a recording device on his daughter’s iPad, leaving it in Ana’s bedroom.

Upon hearing his wife with the other man through the recording device, he returned to the apartment and allegedly shot Barron three times and Ana once in the head.

I’m shooting, and I’m even startled,” Ali testified during the trial, according to Fox 5 San Diego. “It’s like I’m watching it happen, like I’m in the passenger seat of my own body.”

12-year-old boy falls to his death from cruise ship balcony heading back to US
The FBI reportedly is investigating the death of a 12-year-old child who fell from a balcony onboard Royal Caribbean’s Harmony of the Seas cruise ship.
The incident happened Saturday night in the ship’s interior Central Park area as the ship was heading back to port in Galveston, Texas, according to the website Royal Caribbean Blog. The cruise line describes Central Park as “upscale exquisite public gathering place featuring serene pathways, seasonal flower gardens and canopy trees.”
“We are deeply saddened to confirm the death of one of our guests,” Royal Caribbean said in a statement to media outlets. “Our Care Team is providing support and assistance to the guest’s family during this difficult time. For the privacy of the guest and their family, we have no additional details to share.”
It’s unclear how the child fell, but the FBI told The Washington Post that it is investigating the matter along with the Coast Guard and U.S. Customs and Border Protection.

The Harmony of the Seas then returned to Texas the following day, with Royal Caribbean telling passengers on the ship’s next voyage that boarding would be delayed by one hour, the website adds.
“Due to an emergency on our previous sailing, our boarding tomorrow will be delayed,” said a statement reportedly emailed to passengers, “As a result, the terminal will be closed until 12 PM.”
Harmony of the Seas is based out of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and “spans 16 guest decks, encompasses 226,963 gross registered tons, carries 5,497 guests at double occupancy, and features 2,747 staterooms,” according to the cruise line.

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes told reporters Wednesday he will not endorse any candidate in the upcoming election. He’s focused on leading the Kansas City Chiefs to win a third straight Super Bowl, something no NFL team has ever done.
Mahomes’ mission comes during an election year in which the quarterback is surrounded by opposing political forces in his personal life.
Mahomes’ wife, Brittany Mahomes, earned public praise from former President Trump during an interview with Fox News Wednesday. “Having him to help me get through it has helped a lot because he is very good at managing those things and blocking people out and doing all that type of stuff,” she said. “Having him beside me and kind of guiding me, coaching me through it has helped a ton. I think that’s kind of gotten to where we are at now.
“I think the main thing he always told me is like, ‘Stop caring about what people think, especially the people that don’t even know you,’” she said. “And so I think social media used to get me a lot, and now it’s just like, honestly, I don’t give a f— about what people have to say about me anymore.”

Brittany did suggest with an Aug. 26 Instagram story that she and Patrick may potentially disagree on some issues. “Contrary to the tone of the world today…. you can disagree with someone, and still love them. You can have differing views, and still be kind,” she wrote.
Patrick has never publicly expressed support for a political figure or affiliation. He told Time in April he would not speak about who he would vote for in the upcoming election. He stood firm on that belief Wednesday.
“I don’t want my place and my platform to be used to endorse a candidate or do whatever, either way,” Mahomes reiterated. “I think my place is to inform people to get registered to vote. It’s to inform people to do their own research and then make the best decision for them and their family.”
