Tom Cotton rips ABC News for ‘outrageous’ debate handling after new video surfaces
Sen. Tom Cotton, R-Ark., scolded ABC News for failing to fact-check Vice President Kamala Harris’ comment about U.S. troops during last week’s presidential debate, accusing them of acting as a mouthpiece of the Harris campaign as new video appears to contradict her claim.
“ABC allowing Kamala Harris to say ‘no U.S. troops are in combat zones’ without any pushback or fact-checking is outrageous. This goes beyond bias–it’s a media company effectively joining the Harris campaign,” Cotton posted Tuesday on X.
During the debate last week, Harris claimed, “There is not one member of the United States military who is in active duty in a combat zone in any war zone around the world, the first time this century.”
ABC MODERATORS SPARK FURY FOR AGGRESSIVE FACT-CHECKING OF TRUMP, EASY TREATMENT OF HARRIS
ABC News’ David Muir and Linsey Davis, who moderated the debate, fact-checked former President Trump multiple times while failing to fact-check Harris at all.
On Sunday, ABC News’ Martha Raddatz acknowledged that the network’s fact-checkers found Harris’ claim “to be false” despite the moderators not correcting her at the time.
“There are currently 900 U.S. military personnel in Syria, 2,500 U.S. troops in Iraq. All have been under regular threat from drones and missiles for months. We also have action in the Red Sea. Also, every single day, the Navy SEALs, Delta Forces special operators can be part of any sort of deadly raid,” she said.
MILITARY EXPERTS REJECT HARRIS’ CLAIM OF ‘NO US SOLDIERS IN COMBAT ZONES’ AS MISLEADING
The fury over the moderators’ one-sided fact-checking came back into focus after Rep. Jim Banks, R-Ind., on Tuesday shared footage of American soldiers “under fire” in the Middle East, arguing that it disproves Harris’ claims U.S. troops are not currently in harm’s way around the globe.
“These attacks occurred within the last couple of weeks/months,” Banks posted on X. “Reminder, Kamala Harris lied to the entire world last week when she said that we currently have no active duty troops deployed in war zones! Unfit to lead!”
Cotton similarly accused Harris of lying in a weekend appearance on “Sunday Morning Futures,” telling host Maria Bartiromo, “I don’t know where those two moderators were fact-checking Kamala Harris with that lie… I guess they were busy wrongly fact checking President Trump.”
Cotton said Harris’ comment likely came as a “surprise to the thousands of troops we still have in places like Iraq and Syria that are getting repeatedly hit by mortars and drones by Iranian-backed terrorists because Kamala Harris and Joe Biden have appeased and emboldened by the Ayatollahs for four years.”

“It’s just one more example of why she’s a weak, failed San Francisco liberal who is not up to the job of being our commander in chief,” he said.

Reporter stunned by what she heard from restaurant patrons in battleground state
After visiting three different restaurants in Nevada, CBS correspondent Adrianna Diaz admitted she could only find three people planning to vote for Vice President Kamala Harris, the rest were “really excited” about former President Trump.
Diaz toured restaurants in Reno, North Las Vegas and Pahrump, Nevada as part of a “3 Meals” segment on “CBS Mornings” where reporters visit battleground states to gauge public opinion.
Though a Republican has not won Nevada since 2004, co-host Tony Dokoupil reported the state remains in a statistical tie between Harris and Trump. Diaz surprised the show’s hosts on Monday by revealing she found it hard to find Harris supporters.
“What was really incredible is, in every single restaurant, of the people willing to talk to us, we could only find one Harris supporter in every restaurant – and we left no stone unturned. I approached every single person, except for this one guy… But people are really excited about Trump,” Diaz said.
KAMALA HARRIS IN ‘DANGER ZONE’ IN SWING STATES SAYS CNN DATA REPORTER: NATIONAL POLLS ‘DON’T MATTER’
In Pahrump, married couple Leanne and Stephen Schaefer openly expressed their support for Trump and their concern for the country.
“I want someone who’s strong, who demands respect and gets the respect and can deal with foreign leaders. I think Trump’s the guy,” Leanne said.
Stephen added, “I tell ya, I’ve never owned a gun in my life, and I own four of them now. I fear for our country.”
Another group of women explained their frustrations with the economy, linking it to the current administration.
“Everything has gone up. Everybody feels it at the grocery store, at the gas pumps. And yes, I do attribute that to Biden,” one woman said.
Another added, “I think they think if they keep throwing money at it, it will fix the problem. It’s the same as an old house, ‘Oh, let’s just keep fixing it.’ Sometimes the solution is to tear it down and rebuild.”
Only one first-time male voter in the restaurant expressed support for Harris as potentially the first Asian American president.

Though Diaz described Pahrump as a deep red area in Nevada, the sentiment continued in Reno and Las Vegas.
In Reno, a table of women supporting Trump said their greatest concern was the border.
“Illegals. They got to go,” Trump supporter Debra Canestrini said.
When Diaz said many of them were seeking asylum, Canestrini responded, “Baloney. They’re coming here for the freebies.”
Another woman, Tomoko Rogers, added, “When people talk about immigration, they’re thinking we’re saying that we don’t want immigrants of any kind, and that’s not what we are saying. People are saying that there are people who have come here legally — why do they get pushed aside to allow people who have not even worked one day in our country, have not paid into the system.”
By contrast, Ken Lasker, a Harris Reno voter, was more concerned about democracy.
“We’ve had a democracy for 250 years. I think that it’s clearly being threatened now by Trump and the Republican Party,” Lasker said.
In Las Vegas, voters discussed their opinions on the economy.
Harris supporter Joey Herbert said, “For me, it’s been the economy. And that’s what I really like about the current administration. There’s been nothing but job growth.”
However, Francisco Barres, who owns a taco truck, remarked, “Tacos used to be, what? A dollar, $1.50? After the pandemic, they don’t go under $3.50 or $4 because the meat’s expensive.”

Israel behind Hezbollah pager attack, US official says, as new round of devices explode
A senior U.S. official has confirmed to Fox News that Israel is behind the explosions of pagers used by members of Hezbollah in Lebanon as fresh blasts are being reported in Beirut.
Near-simultaneous detonations of pagers used by those belonging to the Iran-backed Hezbollah terror group killed at least 12 people, including two children, and wounded nearly 3,000 on Tuesday.
The development comes as multiple blasts were heard in Beruit on Wednesday during a funeral for Hezbollah members and a child that were killed in Tuesday’s explosions, according to The Associated Press.
Hezbollah’s Al Manar TV reported explosions in multiple areas of Lebanon, which it said were the result of walkie-talkies detonating.
HEZBOLLAH PAGERS THAT EXPLODED WERE MADE IN HUNGARY, TAIWANESE COMPANY SAYS
Hezbollah also is claiming Wednesday to have attacked Israeli artillery positions with rockets in the wake of the blasts, Reuters reports.
An American official told the AP that Israel briefed the United States after Tuesday’s attack, in which small amounts of explosives hidden in pagers were detonated. The person spoke on the condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss the information publicly.
BLINKEN TRAVELS TO EGYPT FOR CEASE-FIRE TALKS AS ISRAEL ADDS NEW WAR GOAL
When asked this morning about Tuesday’s pager explosions, Secretary of State Antony Blinken said “the United States, did not know about, nor was it involved in, these incidents.”
“And we’re still gathering, the information and gathering the facts. Broadly speaking, we’ve been very clear, and we remain very clear about the importance of all parties avoiding any steps that could further escalate the conflict that we’re trying to resolve in Gaza,” Blinken added. “To see it spread to other fronts. It’s clearly not in the interest of anyone involved to see that happen. And that’s why, again, it’s imperative that all parties refrain from any actions that could escalate the conflict.”
The Israel Defense Forces also announced Wednesday that troops in its Northern Command are continuing “offensive and defensive activity.”

“This week, two brigade-level exercises of the 179th and 769th Brigades took place. The exercises, which focused on readiness for terrain in the north, included simulating operations in enemy territory, evacuating wounded from the field under fire, the operations of the various headquarters, and defending the northern region,” it said.
New poll shows who has the edge in tightly contested battleground state
Former President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris are neck-and-neck in one of the most important battleground states of the 2024 presidential election, according to a new poll.
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution released on Wednesday the results of its most recent voter survey, which framed the election as a dead heat race with significant margins for fluctuation.
The poll shows approximately 46.9% of voters currently say they would vote for Trump, compared to 44.4% of voters who say they would cast their vote for Harris.
NEW POLL INDICATES WHETHER HARRIS OR TRUMP HAS THE EDGE IN THE MOST IMPORTANT BATTLEGROUND
With a margin of error of 3.1%, this makes the state election a toss-up between the two candidates.
Approximately 7% of voters reported themselves undecided, while the Libertarian Party candidate Chase Oliver and the rest of the third-party nominees polled below 1%.
The AJC poll showed inflation is the single most important issue among Georgia voters this election cycle.

Riley Gaines unveils scorecard for candidates’ stances on women’s rights in sports
The Independent Women’s Voice and Riley Gaines plan to hold American candidates who run for federal office accountable during the 2024 election season.
The group announced the Riley Gaines Stand with Women Scorecard on Wednesday. The resource will help each prospective voter identify where each candidate stands on legislation that helps preserve female opportunities and keeps private spaces female.

“Every day I get messages from athletes, some adults, most girls, who are competing against men in their sporting categories. It’s not just insane, it’s heartbreaking. It’s sad we’re here as a nation, and it’s even more disheartening that we are governed by people who claim to represent us, but aren’t,” Gaines said in a statement to Fox News Digital.
“When over 70% of the American population believe that men don’t belong in women’s sports, why isn’t Congress voting to protect female athletes from losing out on roster spots, titles, and their privacy in locker rooms? Congress has had several opportunities– just this year– to vote for women’s sports and we still don’t have a federal law that protects us. Don’t get me wrong, many elected leaders have taken decisive action, either through a vote or co-sponsorship. And the good news is that many candidates have also pledged their public support to protect women’s spaces and opportunities. But it’s not enough.
“I am proud to have worked with Independent Women’s Voice to create the Stand with Women Scorecard so that every single American can check to see if their elected officials and candidates for federal office stand with women. The Scorecard is simple: candidates either stand with women, or they do not. I wish I had a tool like this when my sex-based rights were violated at a swim meet, and I hope it makes an impact now so girls and women stop losing their rights in the false narrative of inclusion.”
It’s why Gaines, the host of OutKick’s “Gaines for Girls” podcast, and the Independent Women’s Voice launched the scorecard.
Tulsi Gabbard, a former Hawaii congresswoman, appeared on the “Gaines for Girls” podcast to help Gaines unveil the resource.
“It’s sad that we live in a country where we can’t just make the safe assumption that our elected leaders are going to look out for our children – the most vulnerable among us,” Gabbard said.
“That even those politicians who stand on stages, tout their support for women and equality and fairness in life and the workplace and sports and in education when it comes down to this simple issue of biological males competing against biological females in sports and therefore completely undermining the heart and the core of why Title IX was passed in the first place and what has been the reason for progress for so many women and girls for over five decades this not a safe assumption to make.”
Gabbard said she was sure there were Democrats running for office who would be “afraid” of their voters learning where they stand on the issue.
The tool allows voters to see whether their candidate is standing with women and has Gaines’ seal of approval, doesn’t stand with women or is still unknown. The scorecard lists every candidate and current incumbent and provides those three criteria. The scorecard also provides a “battle box” to give the simple answer between two candidates.
RILEY GAINES PRAISES HS FIELD HOCKEY TEAM’S DECISION TO FORFEIT, TAKES SWIPE AT NCAA PRESIDENT
The scorecard has three factors that will contribute to their approved score.
To earn an approved score, a candidate signed the Stand with Women Commitment or publicly declared their support for female-only sports and acknowledged the differences between males and females.
Congressional incumbents who supported the Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act or voted to repeal the current White House administration’s Title IX rewrite will earn an approved score.
Senate incumbents who receive an approved score must have co-sponsored the Congressional Review Act and/or voted to have a floor vote on the Protections of Women and Girls in sports Act.

“Right now, [men] are competing in women’s sports, stealing roster spots and titles from women,” Gaines added in a video posted to the organization’s website. “How did we get here?
“Women’s unique opportunities and accomplishments should be celebrated and protected. But too many leaders are failing us. This is a true war on women.
“Every American deserves to know who stands with women and who does not.
What legal experts predict for future of fallen music mogul after 5 indictment bombshells
Sean “Diddy” Combs was accused of being the leader of a criminal enterprise in a bombshell indictment unsealed hours after the disgraced media mogul was arrested in the lobby of the Park Hyatt New York City hotel.
Combs, 54, appeared in Manhattan federal court Tuesday where he pleaded not guilty to racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking charges. Not only was Combs denied a proposed $50 million bail, he was also remanded and sent to jail immediately after the hearing.
Combs was officially charged with racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking by force, fraud or coercion, and transportation to engage in prostitution. He faces a minimum of 15 years behind bars or a maximum sentence of life in prison if found guilty.
United States Attorney for the Southern District of New York Damian Williams released the previously sealed indictment hours before Combs was due in court, which revealed a number of shocking allegations against the fallen “Bad Boy” entertainment tycoon.
DIDDY DENIED BAIL AFTER PLEADING NOT GUILTY TO SEX TRAFFICKING CRIMES
“Freak Offs”
While at the helm of the organization, officials claimed Combs and a number of un-named associates in the Combs Enterprise, used intimidation tactics to “lure female victims into Combs’ orbit, often under the pretense of a romantic relationship.”
He would then use “force, threats of force, and coercion, to cause victims to engage in extended sex acts with male commercial sex workers that COMBS referred to as, among other things, ‘Freak Offs,'” according to the indictment.
DIDDY HIT WITH SEX TRAFFICKING AND RACKETEERING CHARGES FOLLOWING ARREST
“Freak Offs” were “elaborate produced sex performances that Combs arranged, directed, masturbated during, and often electronically recorded.” Combs and his staff allegedly transported commercial sex workers across state lines and internationally for the “Freak Offs,” which regularly occurred and sometimes lasted multiple days, often including multiple sex workers.
Combs allegedly distributed “a variety of controlled substances to victims, in part to keep the victims obedient and compliant. Sometimes unbeknownst to the victims, Combs kept videos he filmed of victims engaging in sex acts with commercial sex workers.” Following the “Freak Offs,” Combs and his victims “typically received IV fluids to recover from the physical exertion and drug use,” documents stated.
San Diego criminal defense lawyer Ally Keegan told Fox News Digital that if the allegations are true, they’re “deeply disturbing.”
“What is interesting about the indictment itself is how detailed it is; the government knew this would be high-profile case, and clearly took the time to paint a picture of how Combs allegedly used his media empire to exploit and abuse women,” Keegan said. “That level of graphic detail helps those hearing the allegations for the first time to really picture the depth of the potential conspiracy.”
1,000 Bottles of Baby Oil and Lubricant
On March 25, Combs’ homes in Los Angeles and Miami were raided in connection to a federal human trafficking investigation, officials confirmed to Fox News Digital at the time.

During the search, authorities allegedly seized various “Freak Off” supplies, including narcotics and more than 1,000 bottles of baby oil and lubricant.
“What is interesting about the indictment itself is how detailed it is; the government knew this would be high-profile case, and clearly took the time to paint a picture of how Combs allegedly used his media empire to exploit and abuse women.”
“Members and associates of the Combs Enterprise, including high-ranking supervisors, security staff, household staff, personal assistants, and other Combs Business employees, facilitated the Freak Offs by, among other things, booking hotel rooms for the Freak Offs; stocking the hotel rooms in advance with the required Freak Off supplies, including controlled substances, baby oil, lubricant, extra linens, and lighting,” the indictment claimed.

The associates also cleaned hotel rooms following the Freak Offs to “try to mitigate room damage,” arranged the travel for victims, commercial sex workers and Combs to and from the Freak Offs, and we’re responsible for “resupplying Combs with requested supplies.” The team members allegedly delivered large sums of cash to Combs to pay the commercial sex workers, and would also schedule the delivery of IV fluids.
Priya Sopori, partner at Greenberg Glusker and a former federal prosecutor, was surprised by the mass quantities of supplies found at Combs’ residence.
“Generally speaking, the allegations of a vast criminal conspiracy effectively designed and perpetuated to fulfill the sexual peccadillos of one individual seem pretty shocking in this day and age,” Sopori told Fox News Digital. “More specifically, the allegation that authorities seized over 1,000 bottles of baby oil and lubricant definitely has that ‘Ew’ factor, because it’s difficult to imagine a need to maintain those quantities on hand. Was there a massive Costco sale? Probably not.”

Firearms
Members of the Combs Enterprise, including his personal security detail, at times carried firearms, according to the indictment. Combs was accused of carrying or brandishing a firearm to “intimidate and threaten others, including victims of and witnesses to his abuse.”

Officials seized firearms and ammunition from Combs’ homes in Los Angeles and Miami during the March 25 raid, which included three AR-15s with defaced serial numbers, as well as a drum magazine.
Combs Enterprise members and associates allegedly witnessed the rapper’s violence toward the victims, or the victims’ injuries caused by Combs, without intervening.
On occasion, Combs Enterprise associates “helped conceal the violence and abuse by, among other things, assisting COMBS in monitoring and preventing victims from leaving locations, such as hotels or COMBS’ residences. These occasions included instances in which a victim was required to remain in hiding-sometimes for several days at a time-to recover from injuries COMBS inflicted, without being publicly observed.”
Arson
Under the racketeering conspiracy, Combs allegedly engaged in “multiple acts involving arson, chargeable under the following provisions of state law: California Penal Code§ 451 (arson), California Penal Code§§ 21(a), 664 (attempt), California Penal Code § 31 ( aiding and abetting), and California Penal Code § 182 (conspiracy).”
“When employees, witnesses to his abuse, or others threatened Combs’ authority or reputation, Combs and members and associates of the Enterprise engaged in acts of violence, threats of violence, threats of financial and reputational harm, and verbal abuse,” the indictment stated.
“These acts of violence included kidnapping and arson. In addition, on multiple occasions, Combs threw both objects and people, as well as hit, dragged, choked, and shoved others.”
Officials claimed Combs “relied on the employees, resources, and influence of the multi-faceted business empire that he led and controlled – creating a criminal enterprise whose members and associates engaged in, and attempted to engage in, among other crimes, sex trafficking, forced labor, kidnapping, arson, bribery, and obstruction of justice.”
Video Evidence
Physical assaults at the hands of Combs were “recurrent and widely known,” according to the indictment. Combs allegedly assaulted women by, among other things, “striking, punching, dragging, throwing objects at, and kicking them.”

Surveillance video taken from a Los Angeles hotel in 2016 allegedly showed the billionaire publicly assaulting his then girlfriend Cassie Ventura. In the footage, Combs “kicked dragged, and threw a vase at a woman as she was attempting to leave,” the indictment said. “When a member of the hotel security staff intervened, Combs attempted to bribe the staff member to ensure silence.”
Neama Rahmani, a former federal prosecutor and president of West Coast Trial Lawyers, told Fox News Digital that the video evidence helps present a strong case.
“We’ve all seen the video of Diddy beating Cassie, but US Attorney Damian Williams mentioned other video evidence during his press conference,” Rahmani said. “Diddy reportedly videotaped the ‘Freak Offs’ according to Cassie and the other civil plaintiffs. People can lie, but video doesn’t.”

Combs Enterprise
Combs allegedly maintained a network of people in his “Combs Enterprise” who helped facilitate his global business by “preserving, protecting, promoting, and enhancing the power, reputation, and brand of Sean Combs,” the indictment said.
Associates proved their loyalty and fulfilled obligations “through violence, use of firearms, threats of violence, coercion, and verbal, emotional, physical, and sexual abuse.” In addition, the members were available to help fulfill Combs’ personal desires, particularly those related to “sexual gratification, including through the exploitation of women and the use of commercial sex workers.”
“Even with a skilled lawyer, RICO charges can be difficult to overcome,” Sopori said. “The government has to prove every element of a RICO case beyond a reasonable doubt, so the best strategy for Diddy may involve challenging the existence of the alleged criminal organization or that the alleged activity wasn’t sufficient to create a pattern of alleged criminal activity.”
Judge Robyn F. Tarnofsky decided there were “no conditions” she could impose on Combs in his plea for bail Tuesday. Tarnofsky pointed out sex trafficking is a crime that happens behind closed doors and the rapper would be hard to monitor even with pre-trial monitoring services. The judge considered alternatives to detainment, but found they were not sufficient. Tarnofsky conceded the weight of the evidence against Combs is significant.

Combs’ legal team plans to appeal the bail decision.
“Mr. Combs is a fighter. He’s going to fight this to the end,” the rapper’s lawyer said outside the courthouse following the arraignment. “He’s innocent. He came to New York to establish his innocence. He’s not afraid. He’s not afraid of the charges.”
Rahmani told Fox News Digital, “I don’t think Diddy can win. Jurors may think one victim is lying to get money in a civil lawsuit, but when victim after victim is telling the same story, and that story is corroborated by video evidence, that is too much for jurors to disbelieve.”
Treasure buried by Vikings a thousand years ago found on farmer’s property
Archaeologists recently uncovered invaluable treasure that was buried by Vikings over 1,000 years ago.
The University of Stavanger’s Museum of Archaeology announced the discovery in a press release published on Wednesday. The artifacts were found in Årdal, Hjelmeland, which is located in Western Norway.
The excavation was conducted where a local farmer planned to build a road on his property. According to an English translation of the press release, the treasure was found around 7 inches deep in the soil.
The discovery consisted of four “powerful” arm rings made of silver, each with unique embellishments. It was found under what would have been a small house, and archaeologists believe it was intentionally buried.
DIVERS SHOCKED AFTER FINDING 1856 SHIPWRECK OFF COAST OF MASSACHUSETTS: ‘NEEDLE IN A HAYSTACK’
“I thought at first there was talk of some twisted copper wires that one can often find in agricultural soil,” field archaeologist Ola Tengesdal Lygre said in the press release. “But when I saw that there were several adjacent to each other and that they were not at all made of copper, but of silver, I realized that we had found something exciting.”
Excavators also found soapstone pots, rivets, knife blades and more. According to experts, the findings are proof of a “large and powerful” Viking farm on the land.
EXPERTS STUNNED AFTER CORPSE OF MEDIEVAL CATHOLIC SAINT IS UNCOVERED, FOUND IN REMARKABLE CONDITION
“This is a unique finding, because we very rarely find such objects exactly where they were laid,” project manager Volker Demuth said in the press release. “As a rule, such valuable objects are discovered on fields that have been plowed, in which an object is completely taken out of its original context.”
“Since the silver tax has not been moved on, it can give us completely new insights about life and society during the Viking era.”

Demuth added that it was the “biggest [discovery] I have experienced in my career.”
“If people living on this farm had to flee from an attack, it would be natural to hide valuables one had before escaping to the mountains. And maybe in a place where you wouldn’t think a treasure was hidden,” Demuth said.

Museum director Ole Madsen said that the relics will be exhibited once researchers take soil samples and x-rays of the artifacts.
“This is an absolutely fantastic discovery, which gives us unique knowledge about one of the most important eras in Norway, namely the Viking era,” Madsen said in a statement.
