Jude Bellingham named Britain’s most eligible bachelor by Tatler

Jude Bellingham has been named Britain’s most eligible bachelor in Tatler’s Little Black Book.

The Real Madrid footballer joins royalty, socialites and Olympians on the magazine’s annual list of the top 10 eligible singletons in the country.

Tatler described Bellingham as “the golden boy of the Euros” after he “scored with a quasi-backflip to carry England” to the tournament’s final in July.

The midfielder scored two goals and one assist over the 2024 European championship in Germany, in which England were eventually defeated 2–1 by Spain.

His position on the list marks the third year that an England footballer has been named in Tatler’s top 10, following Marcus Rashford in 2023 and Mason Mount in 2022.

At 21, Bellingham has quickly become one of the biggest names in the industry and has secured high-profile endorsements, including with Louis Vuitton, Adidas and Kim Kardashian’s brand Skims.

Comparisons to David Beckham have already been drawn following his swift rise to fame.

The young footballer was born in Stourbridge, West Midlands, and now lives in the exclusive La Finca neighbourhood of Madrid after he was signed by the city’s club last year.

When he’s not playing the sport, Tatler writes, Bellingham can be found “relaxing in Miami” with Odell Beckham Jr, the American NFL star, and swiping on the celebrity dating app Raya.

However, Bellingham was previously linked to Laura Celia Valk, a 25-year-old Dutch model and social media influencer. The pair were reported to be dating earlier this year but neither party has commented on the rumoured relationship.

It was confirmed in 2023 that Real Madrid had signed Bellingham from Borussia Dortmund in a deal worth up to £115 million.

He has said that joining the Spanish club was a “no-brainer”, despite receiving interest from other elite teams such as Manchester City.

Speaking after he signed the contract, Bellingham said: “I had conversations with other teams but when Madrid came in it was a no-brainer really.

“The size of the club, the project, the plan going forward, the chance to play with such amazing players – I just jumped at it. That’s why I made my decision.”

Other nominees on the Tatler list include Lyla Elichaoff, 21, and Esme Bertelsen, 23, the daughters of TV style gurus Trinny Woodall and Susannah Constantine, who were named joint number one.

They are followed by Princess Theodora von Liechtenstein, 19, a student at Cambridge University, at number three and the son of financier Ben Goldsmith, 19, at number four.

University of Edinburgh graduate Orlando Getty, 22, and Tade Ojora, 25, the former Etonian who represented Team GB in the 110-metre hurdles at the Paris Olympics, also feature on this year’s list.

They are joined by the Duke and Duchess of Bedford’s daughter Alexandra, 23.

Rosie Wrighting, 27, the Labour MP is listed at number nine for “making strides in Westminster and in her constituency of Kettering”. She became the youngest female MP elected at the 2024 general election.

The full feature can be found in the December issue of Tatler, available via digital download and on news stands from Oct 31.
