Trump presses Dem gov for ‘full throated apology’ after trans athlete spat

Amid the ongoing battle between Maine and President Donald Trump, the state’s governor, Janet Mills, has been silent, according to the president.

In a Truth Social post on Saturday morning, Trump said he has “not heard” from Mills ever since their public spat last month about transgender athletes competing in girls’ and women’s sports.

“While the State of Maine has apologized for their Governor’s strong, but totally incorrect, statement about men playing in women’s sports while at the White House Governor’s Conference, we have not heard from the Governor herself, and she is the one that matters in such cases,” Trump said.

“Therefore, we need a full throated apology from the Governor herself, and a statement that she will never make such an unlawful challenge to the Federal Government again, before this case can be settled. I’m sure she will be able to do that quite easily. Thank you for your attention to this matter and, MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!!! DJT”

Maine, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture, agreed to comply with Trump’s executive order to keep transgender athletes out of women’s sports after much public back and forth.

The University of Maine System (USM), a network of eight public universities in Maine, was subject to a temporary pause in funding from the USDA last week during an ongoing battle between the state and the federal government over trans inclusion in women’s and girls’ sports. The funding was reinstated just days later.

BOSTON GLOBE RIPS MAINE DEMOCRATS FOR CENSURING LAUREL LIBBY, MAKING HER ‘A FREE SPEECH MARTYR’

Republic rep. Laurel Libby was censured earlier this month by Maine’s Democratic majority and Speaker Ryan Fecteau for a social media post identifying an underage trans athlete. The censure has prevented her from carrying out other legislative actions to serve her constituents.

Libby filed a lawsuit earlier this month, seeking to have her voting and speaking rights restored. She was originally told she would have her rights restored if she apologized for the post. However, she has said she will not apologize but has said she is willing to drop it if her censure is dropped.

Trump revokes security clearances for Biden, Clinton, Harris and other political foes

President Donald Trump revoked the security clearances of Joe Biden, Hillary Clinton, Kamala Harris, Liz Cheney and several other opponents who either severely criticized or acted against him.

The White House released a memo on Friday that read: “I have determined that it is no longer in the national interest for the following individuals to access classified information:  Antony Blinken, Jacob Sullivan, Lisa Monaco, Mark Zaid, Norman Eisen, Letitia James, Alvin Bragg, Andrew Weissmann, Hillary Clinton, Elizabeth Cheney, Kamala Harris, Adam Kinzinger, Fiona Hill, Alexander Vindman, Joseph R. Biden Jr., and any other member of Joseph R. Biden Jr.’s family.”

TRUMP STRIPS SECURITY CLEARANCES FROM LAW FIRM TIED TO JACK SMITH CASES

Earlier this month, Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard announced that she had revoked the security clearances of several people listed in Trump’s memo and blocked them from having access to classified information. She said “the 51 signers of the Hunter Biden ‘disinformation’ letter” also had their clearances rescinded.

“The President’s Daily Brief is no longer being provided to former President Biden.”

In addition to having their security clearances revoked, the individuals listed in Trump’s memorandum have had their “unescorted access to secure United States Government facilities” rescinded.

TRUMP REVOKES SECRET SERVICE PROTECTION FOR ADULT BIDEN CHILDREN HUNTER AND ASHLEY

Several people listed in Trump’s memo mostly dismissed it in social media posts reacting to the news. Both Zaid and Eisen said it was “like the third time” their security clearances were revoked. Kinzinger posted a video saying that he “retired a year ago from the military” and doesn’t have a clearance before calling the president a “dumba–.”

The security clearance memo comes just days after Trump announced that he was stripping Hunter and Ashley Biden of their Secret Service protection.

“Hunter Biden has had Secret Service protection for an extended period of time, all paid for by the United States Taxpayer. There are as many as 18 people on this Detail, which is ridiculous!” Trump wrote on Truth Social. “Please be advised that, effective immediately, Hunter Biden will no longer receive Secret Service protection. Likewise, Ashley Biden who has 13 agents will be taken off the list.”

While under federal law, former presidents and their spouses receive life-long Secret Service protection, but that protection ends for members of their immediate family when they leave office. According to the Associated Press, both Trump and Biden extended protection for their children before leaving office.

Florida returns $878M in taxpayer funds to US, DeSantis sends message to other states

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, a Republican, said Friday that the state was returning more than $878 million to the federal government that it had been attempting to give back for the past few years during the Biden administration.

DeSantis’ office informed the U.S. Treasury Department that $878,112,000 would be returned to the federal government.

The governor said the move came after a meeting with billionaire Elon Musk and his team at the newly formed Department of Government Efficiency, or DOGE.

“For years, Florida has been trying to return federal funds to the federal government due to the ideological strings attached by the Biden Administration—but they couldn’t even figure out how to accept it,” DeSantis wrote Friday on X.

FOX NEWS POLL: VOTERS HAVE CONCERNS ABOUT DOGE, EVEN AS THEY SEE NEEDS FOR CUTS

“Today, I met with @elonmusk and the DOGE team, and we got this done in the same day,” he continued.

DeSantis suggested that other states “should follow Florida in supporting DOGE’s efforts!”

The governor’s office said in its email to the Treasury Department that it will search for additional excess federal funds that can be returned.

“At the direction of Governor DeSantis and following his meeting with Elon Musk today, the State of Florida is formally returning $878,112,000 in taxpayer dollars to the federal government as part of DOGE’s efforts,” the email said. “We will also continue to identify other unused or surplus federal funding granted to Florida and determine if further refunds can be made. We hope our actions serve as a model for other states to follow.”

Musk, who also serves as a senior advisor to President Donald Trump, responded to the governor’s post on X.

“Almost a billion dollars of your taxpayer money saved,” Musk said on the social media platform.

DeSantis announced last month the creation of Florida’s DOGE task force to “further eliminate waste within state government, save taxpayers money, and ensure accountability in Florida.”

“Florida has set the standard for fiscally conservative governance, and our new Florida DOGE task force will do even more to serve the people of Florida,” DeSantis said at the time. “It will eliminate redundant boards and commissions, review state university and college operations and spending, utilize artificial intelligence to further examine state agencies to uncover hidden waste, and even audit the spending habits of local entities to shine the light on waste and bloat.”

Bill Maher sounds the alarm over Dems’ record-low approval rating

“Real Time” host Bill Maher warned Democrats that their party may face the same fate as the Whigs if they don’t embrace deregulation.

During Friday’s panel discussion, Maher sounded the alarm on the NBC poll that showed Democrats had only a 27% approval rating, a record low for the party.

“I’ve never seen one this bad,” Maher reacted.

Maher later cited the American Redistricting Project, which projected that Democrats will lose congressional seats in California, New York, Illinois, Minnesota, Rhode Island and Oregon by 2030 while Republicans will gain seats in Texas, Florida, Idaho and Utah.

BILL MAHER REVEALS HE’S GOING TO MEET TRUMP AT THE WHITE HOUSE

“I mean, this looks like game over. And the reason why people are voting with their feet is a lot of what your book is about: taxes and regulation,” Maher said to New York Times columnist and “Abundance” co-author Ezra Klein. “I’ve certainly been screaming about it forever. I did three years with a sign here that said, ‘How long is it gonna take me to get my solar hooked up? Three years. Talking about it on television in this state, you couldn’t do it!”

“We’re taxed more than any other state. People are leaving these kind of states for places where they [don’t] feel the heavy breath of government on them…. It’s not that hard for Democrats to understand this, but they don’t. They seem to be incapable of doing anything about it,” he continued.

BILL MAHER SAYS TRUMP ADMIN DOESN’T HAVE A LEG TO STAND ON REGARDING FREE SPEECH AFTER MAHMOUD KHALIL ARREST

Klein responded by citing polls showing the reason why people are leaving blue states is “cost of living” and stressed that if the 2030 projections hold, the gains in red states will ultimately allow Republicans to win presidential elections without the blue wall states of Pennsylvania, Michigan and Wisconsin.

“They are driving people out, working-class families, out of the states they govern because the cost of living is too high,” Klein said, linking it to regulations and taxes. He added, “But the big problem is they just don’t have enough of the things people need, not enough homes, not enough energy, not a government capable of delivering, and they’ve been treating that as not a real problem.”

The liberal columnist went on to praise Texas and how cities like Houston and Austin are booming because of their friendly environment for home and energy development. He noted the irony that despite the Texas GOP’s opposition to clean energy, it still thrives in the Lone Star state because of deregulation.

“We need an Elon Musk who would do to California what he’s doing to the government in a sane way,” Maher said. “I mean, if you have 400,000 regulations and you cannot build a high-speed rail that started in 2008, you need somebody to come in here. Who is this person on the left?”

“The left doesn’t want to deregulate,” Substack writer Andrew Sullivan responded. “They just don’t have that instinct to deregulate.”

“They’re gonna have to get over it, or they’re gonna be the Whigs,” Maher reacted, referring to the Whig Party that collapsed in the 1850s.

Attacks on Teslas ramp up with dozens of vehicles damaged at one location

Dozens of Tesla vehicles were damaged at a dealership in Ontario, Canada, Hamilton Police Service (HPS) confirmed to Fox News Digital. Authorities said that the incident occurred overnight on March 18, and that the “damage included deep scratches and punctured tires.”

HPS told Fox News Digital that officers are still working on getting footage from the Tesla vehicles as, “some vehicle camera systems were recording during the mischief incident.” They were also able to obtain “limited” footage from the area. As of Saturday, it was still too early in the investigation for HPS to determine a motive or how many people were involved. HPS said they do not have any suspects.

The night before this incident, police in London, Ontario, were reportedly called to the scene of a fire that is allegedly being investigated as suspicious. On March 17, a Tesla was set on fire, causing an estimated $140,000 in damage, London Police Service said in a press release.

PRESIDENT TRUMP SUGGESTS SENDING TESLA VANDALS TO EL SALVADOR’S NOTORIOUS PRISONS

Vandalism and attacks on Tesla vehicles and dealerships have been on the rise over the last few weeks. Many of the attacks appear to be politically motivated acts against Tesla founder and CEO Elon Musk due to his work with the Department of Government Efficiency.

The Trump administration began cracking down on Tesla vandals earlier this week, with Attorney General Pam Bondi saying the string of attacks was “nothing short of domestic terrorism.” She vowed that the Department of Justice (DOJ) would “continue investigations that impose severe consequences on those involved in these attacks.”

On Thursday, the DOJ announced that three individuals were charged in connection with the “violent destruction of Tesla properties.” The defendants face charges that carry a minimum penalty of 5 years in prison, but could face up to 20 years behind bars.

“The days of committing crimes without consequence have ended,” Bondi said in a DOJ statement. “Let this be a warning: if you join this wave of domestic terrorism against Tesla properties, the Department of Justice will put you behind bars.”

On Friday, President Donald Trump floated the idea of Tesla vandals serving time in El Salvadorian prisons in a post on Truth Social.

“I look forward to watching the sick terrorist thugs get 20 year jail sentences for what they are doing to Elon Musk and Tesla,” Trump wrote. “Perhaps they could serve them in the prisons of El Salvador, which have become so recently famous for such lovely conditions!”

Since January 2025, Tesla vehicles have been targeted in at least nine states, according to the FBI. The bureau has urged the public to “exercise vigilance” near Tesla properties.

Elon Musk’s DOGE cuts to USAID hitting United Nations’ bottom line

FIRST ON FOX: President Donald Trump’s administration’s use of Elon Musk’s DOGE to cut USAID spending is having a deep impact on the United Nations Department of Safety and Security (UNDSS), according to internal U.N. emails shared with Fox News Digital.

In an email sent early Friday morning, president of the U.N. Field Staff Union, Milan Victor Dawoh wrote that the USAID funding cut resulted in “approximately $30 million” having been “removed from the extra-budgetary (XB) resources, resulting in a significant reduction in staffing.”

Dawoh’s email warns that the U.N. “is currently experiencing its worst liquidity crisis since its establishment. The situation is expected to deteriorate further before any improvement occurs.”

Dawoh said that UNDSS will lose 100 employees and that its presence will be eliminated in 35 to 45 countries, while noting that “regional hubs” will be established “in the remaining 120 countries where UNDSS will maintain a presence.”

‘UN80 INITIATIVE’ APPEARS TO SHOW WORLD BODY’S PANIC OVER POSSIBLE DOGE-LIKE CUTS

“The [under secretary-general of UNDSS] emphasized that UNDSS is not a protection agency but a risk management and analysis entity,” the email reads. “This distinction should be clearly communicated to staff.”

The Department’s website describes the UNDSS as “a global leader in security risk management principles” and explains that it “enables the safe and effective delivery of United Nations programmes and activities in the most complex and challenging environments, while maximizing resources.”

Fox News Digital asked Dawoh about the authenticity of the email and what portion of the UNDSS budget was paid for by USAID, but received no response.

Earlier this month, António Guterres warned about cuts to U.S. spending at the U.N., stating that “going through with recent funding cuts will make the world less healthy, less safe, and less prosperous.”

Farhan Haq, Deputy Spokesman for U.N. Secretary-General António Guterres, told Fox News Digital that UNDSS only received about $20 million from USAID last year. “USAID informed us that some of this funding has been terminated; other projects will continue with USAID support,” he said.

Whereas Dawoh’s email indicates that the UNDSS’s loss of funding is related to a cut in extra-budgetary resources, Haq stated that “extra budgetary funding from USAID is a relatively small proportion of the Department’s budget, most of which comes from the U.N. regular budget, a U.N. cost-sharing mechanism, and the peace support account.”

According to Haq, UNDSS has 2,250 personnel around the globe, “supporting the security of — and enabling operations by — 180,000 U.N. personnel.” Haq added that “the majority of the Department’s workforce is in the field, with a much smaller percentage in New York HQ. U.N. personnel serving in the world’s most dangerous places deserve effective security as they work to save lives.”

PAUSE IN US FOREIGN AID HAS UN IN PANIC OVER FUNDING CUTS, TRUMP SAYS WORLD BODY ‘NOT BEING WELL RUN’

Haq said that an email sent to multiple U.N. mailing groups on Mar. 19 mentioning the funding-related closure of one staff entrance to U.N. headquarters was unrelated to UNDSS. “Funding for the UNHQ premises does not come from USAID,” Haq explained. He said that the temporary closure is the result, instead, of some member states’ non-payment of dues.

A U.N. source speaking on condition of anonymity said that in the midst of financial uncertainty, U.N. staff “are very fearful of their immediate future.” The source said that concerns include the ability to collect pensions and access their United Nations Federal Credit Union accounts. The source indicated that because “most of these staffers that are losing their jobs are . . . on G-4 visas,” the change may even impact their ability to stay in the U.S.

“This is an implication beyond just losing the jobs of individuals. It impacts families, and this could be massive in the coming weeks with new cuts that will impact U.N. agencies.”

Fox News Digital reached out to the State Department for insight on how employees would be impacted by layoffs but received no response.

Calls for increased U.N. reform come a month after President Donald Trump signed an executive order calling for a review of funding to the U.N. At the time, Trump said that the world body “has tremendous potential” but is “not being well run.”

Resurfaced posts expose Dem House candidate’s ‘radical’ views on trans children

A Democratic candidate for Congress in Florida is being criticized for pushing “radical gender ideology” after resurfaced social media posts show him advocating for children to receive gender transition treatment.

“Banning health care for any human being is a violation of human rights,” Josh Weil, Democratic candidate for Congress in FL-06 posted on X, then known as Twitter, in March 2021.

“#TransRightsAreHumanRights and while we’re at it #MedicareForAll so that all trans children have free, and safe access to the medical services they need.”

Weil was responding to a post from the ACLU that said, “BREAKING: Arkansas has become the first state to ban health care for trans youth.”

In another post, Weil objected to a bill in Iowa that, according to the user he responded to, “would require teachers to give parents 7-days notice if they plan to ask their kids about their preferred pronouns.”

“In addition to all the harm this will do to trans and enby youth, this bill will 100% result in a loss of teachers,” Weil posted on X. “Every time, in every state, whenever lawmakers try to drop their baggage and bs on teachers, teachers leave.”

Fox News Digital reached out to the Weil campaign but did not receive a response.

“Democrats have learned absolutely nothing,” NRCC Spokeswoman Maureen O’Toole told Fox News Digital.

“Not only are they lighting donors’ money on fire by investing in a district where they have no path to victory, but they’re also choosing to invest in a candidate who has pushed radical gender ideology that is wildly unpopular with voters. Josh Weil is so dangerous, even AOC and David Hogg – the vice chair of the DNC – are running from him.”

Weil, a public school teacher from Orlando, is running against Republican State Sen. Randy Fine to replace former GOP Rep. Michael Waltz, who moved into the Trump administration to serve as the president’s national security adviser.

Shredded cheese recalled at popular grocery store over possible metal contamination

Pouches of Aldi’s Happy Farms shredded Colby Jack cheese have been recalled in four states over concerns they contained metal fragments. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) issued the Class II recall, which affects approximately 4,800 bags of the cheese.

MAC AND CHEESE SOLD AT MAJOR RETAILERS RECALLED OVER POTENTIAL SPOILING

The affected products were sold in Connecticut, Michigan, Ohio and Pennsylvania. The “best by” dates on the packages are July 13 and 14, 2025, and the universal product code (UPC) is 4061463330840.

The impacted bags of cheese have likely been pulled from the shelves, as the recall was issued in mid-February.

VEGAN CHEESE MARKET EXPECTED TO GROW TO NEARLY $9 BILLION BY 2031: STUDY

The FDA defines a Class II recall as “a situation in which use of or exposure to a violative product may cause temporary or medically reversible adverse health consequences or where the probability of serious adverse health consequences is remote.”

In the case of the recalled Aldi cheese, the FDA is concerned that there may be stainless steel fragments in the bags.

Great Lakes Cheese Co. Inc. initiated the recall voluntarily, according to the FDA.

Fox Business reached out to Aldi for comment. The company details its recall procedure on its website, which involves “swiftly and effectively” pulling the recalled product from its shelves.

“A ‘pull-from-sale’ alert from either the manufacturer of the suspect product or our own Corporate Buying Department will trigger a rapid response plan for handling recalls. Products that do not meet ALDI or government standards in any of these areas will be efficiently and effectively removed from sale,” the company says on its website.
