General Situation
A southerly airstream is affecting the coast of Guangdong. Locally, visibility was rather low this morning. The visibility in the harbour fell to around 2000 metres, and the visibility at Waglan Island even fell below 500 metres. Besides, the cold front now over the northern part of southern China is expected to move across the coastal areas tonight.
Forecast Description
Mainly cloudy with a few showers. Visibility rather low at first. Hot with sunny intervals during the day. The maximum temperature will be around 29 degrees in the urban areas, and a couple of degrees higher in the New Territories. Light to moderate southerly winds. There will be chance of isolated thunderstorms later in the afternoon. Becoming moderate to fresh northeasterlies tonight. Temperatures will fall to a minimum of around 21 degrees at midnight.
Cool in the morning and at night during the weekend to early next week. The minimum temperatures will be around 16 degrees in the urban areas, and a couple of degrees lower in the New Territories.

The cold front now over the northern part of southern China will move towards the coast of southern China today (28 March). Locally, there will be a few showers. It will be hot with sunny intervals during the day. There will also be chance of isolated thunderstorms later in the afternoon. With the cold front crossing the coastal areas tonight, under the influence of the associated northeast monsoon, temperatures in the urban areas will drop appreciably from a maximum of around 29 degrees later today to around 17 degrees on Saturday (29 March), and a couple of degrees lower in the New Territories. As the temperature drop is significant in about one day’s time, members of the public should be aware of the change in weather and keep warm.
