Packed ferry ride turns deadly after getting struck by boat in hit-and-run

One person is dead after a boat ran into a ferry packed with passengers in Clearwater, Florida, on Sunday, prompting a “mass casualty incident.”

The Clearwater Ferry, a method of transportation from downtown Clearwater to Clearwater Beach, had approximately 45 people on board when it was struck by a recreational boat at around 8:40 p.m. on Sunday, according to the U.S. Coast Guard.

The crash, which left one person dead, took place near the Memorial Causeway bridge, according to Clearwater police.

The City of Clearwater said six passengers were declared “trauma alerts.” Police described two of those as “seriously injured” and said they were taken to local hospitals by helicopter.

All injuries came from passengers on the ferry, police said.

The boat that hit the ferry fled the scene, but was later identified by another law enforcement agency, according to the City of Clearwater. Further details on that boat have not been provided.

Terrorists’ favorite nightclub busted, illegal aliens arrested, US military members detained

Federal authorities announced Sunday that more than a hundred illegal immigrants were detained in a massive raid at an underground nightclub in Colorado Springs that officials say was “frequented by TdA and MS-13 terrorists.”

The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Rocky Mountain Division led a multi-agency operation early Sunday morning and arrested 114 illegal immigrants at the venue that contained more than 200 people inside.

Authorities uncovered drugs, including pink cocaine, as well as evidence of prostitution and multiple firearms during the operation, according to the DEA.

“@DHSgov has taken more than 100 illegal aliens into custody,” DEA Rocky Mountain said in a post on X on Sunday. “Drugs and weapons have also been seized at this underground nightclub in Colorado Springs.”

BLUE SANCTUARY STATE OPERATING AS ‘CONTROL’ CENTER FOR VICIOUS MIGRANT GANG: ACTING DEA CHIEF

President Donald Trump commented on the raid in a Truth Social Post on Sunday.

“A big Raid last night on some of the worst people illegally in our Country — Drug Dealers, Murderers, and other Violent Criminals, of all shapes and sizes, and Judges don’t want to send them back to where they came from,” Trump wrote in the post. “If we don’t win this battle at the Supreme Court, our Country, as we know it, is FINISHED! It will be a Crime ridden MESS. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!”

Attorney General Pamela Bondi applauded the operation, which included 300 officials across multiple agencies, including the FBI and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF).

“This morning @DEAHQ apprehended over 100 illegal aliens at an underground night club frequented by Tda and MS-13 terrorists,” Bondi said in a post on X. “Cocaine, meth, and pink cocaine was seized.”

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), Homeland Security Investigations, the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office and the Colorado Springs Police Department were also involved in the operation.

‘BRING IT ON’: SHERIFF PUSHES BACK AFTER BLUE STATE LEADERS SUE TO STOP IMMIGRATION ENFORCEMENT

In videos posted of the operation, U.S. Postal Service and IRS agents are seen arresting illegal aliens at the nightclub, showing the Trump administration using a whole-of-government approach to carrying out deportations.

Specifically, a U.S. Postal Service inspector and an agent with IRS Criminal Investigations were seen with alleged criminals in their custody.

DEA Acting Administrator Derek Maltz previously said Colorado has become “ground zero for some of the most violent criminals in America,” including Tren de Aragua’s leadership, Denver 7 reported.

One local official blamed the blue state’s leadership.

“Colorado without question has been a hub for illegal immigration due to the sanctuary policies of the city of Denver in conjunction with radical legislation (including this session) from the State Capitol affirming Colorado’s sanctuary status,” Douglas County Sheriff Darren Weekly told The Gazette, which first reported the story. “As the Sheriff of Douglas County I will do everything I can within Colorado law to support our federal partners. This, in turn, helps keep my community safe.”

Many of those detained in Sunday’s raid are expected to face federal immigration charges, according to DEA Rocky Mountain. At least two people were also arrested on existing warrants, Bondi said.

“#DEA partners and @DHSgov placed patrons (in the U.S. illegally) on buses for processing and likely eventual deportation,” DEA Rocky Mountain said.

About a dozen U.S. active-duty service members were also found at the club, special DEA Rocky Mountain agent Jonathan Pullen told multiple outlets. The service members were inside the club as patrons or working as armed security.

“I think that everybody that goes into a nightclub at 3 o’clock in the morning knows what they’re getting into,” Pullen told Denver 7. “The active duty servicemembers who were there will be dealt with by Army CID [Criminal Investigation Division]. They were on scene with us, and they are partners in this investigation.”

DEA Rocky Mountain confirmed to Fox News that those active duty service members found at the club have so far been detained and are not under arrest at this time.

“Colorado Springs is waking up to a safer city this Sunday morning,” Pullen said in a press briefing to local outlets.

“As we approach his 100 days in office @POTUS Trump’s directive to make America safe again is achieving results!” Bondi said on X.

Colorado Springs Chief of Police Adrian Vasquez said the department participated in the operation “solely to address criminal violations” affecting community safety and is not authorized to conduct immigration enforcement under state law.

“I want to be clear that it is the responsibility of the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) to investigate criminal activity and make arrests when appropriate. This operation was the result of a months-long investigation into serious criminal activity in our community,” Vasquez said. “While the investigation is ongoing, arrests for these criminal violations are expected. CSPD is aware that our federal partners also detained multiple people for suspected immigration violations during the operation.”

Manhunt underway for gun-toting suspect after one person shot on university campus

Rubio calls out misleading deportation headline to TV anchor during live interview

Secretary of State Marco Rubio denied claims that three minor U.S. citizens, all under ten years old – and one with stage IV cancer, were deported without due process, calling the accusations “misleading.”

The Washington Post reported that three American citizens from two different families, aged two, four and seven, were deported along with their mothers from a Louisiana facility on Friday. The report alleged that the four-year-old child is suffering from stage-4 cancer and that the mother had no way of contacting their doctors, according to the family’s lawyer. Rubio pushed back against the claims that the children were deported, instead asserting that the children’s mothers, who were not in the country legally, opted to take their children with them.

“That’s a misleading headline. Three U.S. citizens, aged 4, 7 and 2 were not deported. Their mothers were legally deported, and the children went with their mothers. They can come back to their father or someone who wants to assume them. Ultimately, it was the mothers who were here illegally. You guys make it sound like ICE kicked down the door and grabbed the child and threw them on an airplane, and it’s misleading and that is not true,” Rubio said.

MIGRANT LAWYERS CLAIM TRUMP IS DEPORTING WITHOUT ‘DUE PROCESS,’ BUT WHAT DOES THAT MEAN?

Trump appointee U.S. District Judge Terry A. Doughty, however, did not believe the federal government’s claims that the children were not in fact deported. In response to an emergency order filed Thursday night by the father of the two-year-old girl, the judge issued an order expressing his “strong suspicion that the government just deported a U.S. citizen with no meaningful process.” The toddler had accompanied her mother to an immigration meeting that would allow her to remain in their community called an Intensive Supervision Appearance Program, the family’s lawyers claimed.

“The government contends that this is all okay because the mother wishes that the child be deported with her, but the court doesn’t know that,” Doughty wrote.

The family’s lawyers say the girl’s father was only able to speak to her mother for one minute before their phone call was abruptly ended by ICE agents, and the girl was shipped off to Honduras with her mother the following morning.

DEMS FUME OVER ‘DUE PROCESS’ FOR ABREGO GARCIA DESPITE LONG HISTORY OF PARTY BUCKING THE LEGAL PRINCIPLE

Rubio remained firm that the only targets for deportations were the mothers in the US illegally, and that the children would be welcome to return if their fathers or another suitable guardian were to assume responsibility for them.

“If someone is in this country unlawfully, illegally that person gets deported. If that person is with a 2-year-old child and says I want to take my child with me, then you have two choices. You can say yes, of course, you can take your child whether they’re a citizen or not, because it is your child. Or say yes, you can go, but your child must stay behind. And then your headlines would read U.S. holding hostage 2-year-old, 4-year-old, 7 -year-old while mother deported,” Rubio said.

Damning report shows Black Hawk pilot ignored instructor before collision with packed jet

The pilot of the military Black Hawk helicopter that collided with a passenger airplane over Washington, D.C., in January ignored instructions to change course seconds before the crash, according to a new report.

The report, published by the New York Times on Sunday, detailed the Black Hawk’s exchanges with air traffic controllers in the lead-up to the disaster, which left 67 people dead.

According to the report, the Black Hawk pilot, Capt. Rebecca Lobach, was conducting her annual flight evaluation and her co-pilot, Chief Warrant Officer 2 Andrew Loyd Eaves, was serving as her flight instructor.

When air traffic controllers informed the Black Hawk that there was an airliner nearby, Lobach and Eaves acknowledged the message and requested to fly by “visual separation,” a common practice that allows aircraft to avoid collisions based on their own observations rather than following instructions from air traffic control.

55 VICTIMS IN WASHINGTON, DC MIDAIR COLLISION PULLED FROM POTOMAC RIVER AS RECOVERY OPERATION CONTINUES

“The Black Hawk was 15 seconds away from crossing paths with the jet. Warrant Officer Eaves then turned his attention to Captain Lobach. He told her he believed that air traffic control wanted them to turn left, toward the east river bank,” the Times wrote.

VP VANCE CALLS ON US ‘TO DO A BETTER JOB’ WITH AVIATION SAFETY AFTER ‘INCREDIBLY HEARTBREAKING’ DC PLANE CRASH

“Turning left would have opened up more space between the helicopter and Flight 5342, which was heading for Runway 33 at an altitude of roughly 300 feet. She did not turn left,” the report said.

Lobach, of Durham, North Carolina, served as an aviation officer in the Army beginning in July 2019, and had around 500 hours of flying time in the Black Hawk, the Army said in a release.

Lobach was assigned to the 12th Aviation Battalion in Fort Belvoir, Virginia. Her awards included the Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, National Defense Service Medal and Army Service Ribbon, according to the Army.

She was also a White House military social aide in the Biden administration.

The third member of the flight crew, along with Lobach and Eaves, was Staff Sgt. Ryan O’Hara.

The crash instantly caused national scrutiny on air traffic control policies, with Transportation Sec. Sean Duffy opening an investigation.

Duffy announced plans in March to bolster airport air traffic control systems with the latest technology over the next four years, while also using artificial intelligence (AI) to identify “hot spots” where close encounters between aircraft occur frequently.

There have been 85 near-misses or close calls at Reagan National, according to a report from the National Travel Safety Board (NTSB). Close calls were identified as incidents when there are less than 200 feet of vertical separation and 1,500 feet of lateral separation between aircraft.

“We’re having near-misses, and if we don’t change our way, we’re going to lose lives,” Duffy told reporters at the time. “That wasn’t done. Maybe there was a focus on something other than safety, but in this administration, we are focusing on safety.”

Third Neuralink brain implant patient able to communicate despite non-verbal ALS

The third human to receive a Neuralink brain implant, who also has non-verbal ALS, is now able to speak in his own voice thanks to the advancing technology combined with Artificial Intelligence (AI).

Brad Smith said in a video on X that even though having the disease “sucks,” he is happy, and God has answered his prayers and “life is good.” He also talked about his journey with ALS and the hope he was given after becoming the third human to receive a Neuralink brain transplant.

Neuralink, which was started by billionaire Elon Musk, said in a blog post in January that there are three people with Telepathy, including “Brad.”

“All three individuals are unable to move their arms and legs – Noland and Alex due to spinal cord injury (SCI) and Brad due to amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS),” the post read. “They each volunteered to participate in Neuralink’s PRIME Study, a clinical trial to demonstrate that the Link is safe and useful in the daily lives of people living with paralysis.”

FIRST NEURALINK PATIENT PLAYS CHESS WITH BRAIN CHIP IMPLANT IN NEW VIDEO

Smith is unable to speak or move any part of his body, besides the corners of his mouth and eyes.

In the video he shared on X, Smith said he relies on the Neuralink implant for all communication, adding he made the video using the Brain Computer Interface (BCI) to control the mouse on his MacBook Pro.
The voice in the video is his own, and it was cloned using AI from recordings, before he lost his voice.

While explaining how Neuralink has impacted his life, Smith gave an overview of how the technology works, but he also talked about how he ended up in his current status.

“I have ALS, a really weird disease that kills the motor neurons that control my muscles, but not affecting my mind,” he said. “My experience has been pretty interesting, starting with a shoulder injury that would not heal and ending up with my current status. I cannot move anything but my eyes and I’m totally reliant on a ventilator to keep me alive and breathing.”

FIRST NEURALINK PATIENT ABLE TO CONTROL MOUSE WITH THOUGHTS: ELON MUSK

Before receiving the implant, Smith said he had to use an eye gaze control computer for all communication. But it worked best in dark rooms, and he said he was basically Batman, as he was stuck in a dark room.

“Neuralink lets me go outside and ignore lighting changes,” he said. “The implant is in my motor cortex, which is the part of my brain that controls body movement.”

An image of the implant showed a device about the size of five U.S. quarters stacked.

Smith said it replaced a hole in his skull, and the threads were placed just a few millimeters into his brain by a robot, avoiding the blood vessels so there is almost no bleeding.

Once connected, the device communicates with a computer using Bluetooth and the computer does “a lot of the processing,” according to Smith.

ELON’S EXODUS: TRACKING MUSK’S BUSINESS INCORPORATION STATE CHANGES

He then showed a video of the data coming from the 1,024 electrodes in his brain.

The data and technology allow Smith to communicate using a computer, and he spends time training it by moving a curser around on the computer screen. He also created features that make communicating and computing easier.

“I created a keypad using the Mac accessibility keyboard to make some keystrokes easy to use,” Smith said. “Things like select all, copy, paste, undo, and ways to navigate the page are all really useful. And I can use the toolbar and some shortcuts.”

But the hardest thing about having ALS, he added, is thinking faster than he can type. So, he worked with the team at Neuralink to create a chat application that uses AI to listen to the conversation and produce options to say as responses.

HOW ELON MUSK’S NEURALINK BRAIN CHIP WORKS

“It uses Grok 3 and an AI clone of my old voice to generate options for me to say,” Smith said. “It is not perfect, but it keeps me in the conversation, and it comes up with some great ideas.

“My friend asked me for ideas for his girlfriend who loves horses. I chose the option that told him in my voice to get her a bouquet of carrots,” he continued. “What a creative and funny idea. We are also working on a faster way to type with the cursor.”

Ultimately, Smith said his experience with Neuralink has been “fantastic,” because it has improved his life.

He also said he is happy to be involved in something that will help many people.

“Don’t get me wrong, ALS still really sucks, but I am talking about the big picture. That is what I have learned,” he said. “God loves me and my family. He has answered our prayers in unexpected ways. He has blessed my kids and our family.

“So, I’m learning to trust that God knows what he is doing,” Smith added, before turning toward his wife Tiffany and his kids. “The big picture is I am happy. Tiffany is the greatest person I’ve ever known, and I get to spend eternity with her. My kids are doing well, especially under the circumstances. And I can control the computer with telepathy. Life is good.”

At 19 years old, former Playboy playmates – and twins – Karissa and Kristina Shannon’s lives took a drastic turn after moving into Hugh Hefner‘s Playboy mansion.

In a new interview, the twins, now 35, open up about the troubling experience they shared while living in the mansion with Hefner, who died in 2017, and fellow playmates, explaining how it led them down a dangerous web of addiction and sharing the steps they took to eventually find peace.

“We always say ‘Playboy’ will always be a part of our lives. We were ‘Playboy’ fans and we still are ‘Playboy’ fans. Even though it turned out to be very traumatic for us, there were also a lot of high points,” Karissa told People magazine.

From the get-go, the Florida natives said they were met with bouts of “extreme jealousy” from other playmates after Hefner showed favoritism toward them.

HOLLY MADISON RECALLS PLAYBOY FOUNDER HUGH HEFNER’S ‘INSECURITIES’: ‘HE HAD A JEALOUS STREAK’

“We got a lot of jealousy from the other playmates because we were twins. We were the first twins to each get our own months, which made Playboy history. We were the youngest playmates and the youngest girlfriends,” Kristina said.

“When we’re taking pictures, he would want to get in the middle of the twins to take a picture. Or he would be like, ‘Can you move the twins toward the front of the table? I want to sit next to them.’ So the girls started getting really jealous,” Karissa noted.

“It made Kristina cry. Kristina literally cried and wanted to leave the mansion when we were shooting. And I told her, ‘These girls are older. They know how to play the game better. But we’re pretty. We’re here. We’ve made it this far.’ And so we ended up staying and Kristina got through it, but there was so much bullying,” she added.

During their four-year stay at the mansion, Karissa said the experience “left a huge hole in both of our hearts and our spirits.”

“It really crumbled who we are, especially when [Hugh] took our religion away,” she explains. “Our believing in Jesus became a big problem, and losing that was just really big trauma that we dealt with. We had no family that was there to back us up like a lot of the girls.”

After moving out, the twins faced another wave of challenges, including loss and substance abuse.

“When we moved out, we had a couple of years where we went through this individuality phase,” Karissa said. “I feel like every set of twins goes through it, particularly in your early 20s. We were both into different things and trying to be individuals, because Hef really did force the twin thing on us, more than anyone else had ever. But we’ve always been extremely close. I believe we’re twin flames, closer than most twins.”

“Everyone was saying we were going through our ‘Anna Nicole phase'” Kristina said. “We gained weight. There was alcohol and pills. We were really unhealthy and lost and, even at points, suicidal. We had no one. It was just us trying to figure it out after losing ourselves.”

After hitting rock-bottom, the duo decided to move back to their home state of Michigan.

“We drove the whole way without stopping until we got to Michigan. I remember getting into Colorado and smelling that fresh air … it was just different,” Karissa said. “Being in nature desensitized us. We ended up being diagnosed with manic depression, ADHD, bipolar disorder and generalized anxiety disorder. Being outside the city helped us slow down.”

“We were totally just ready to be selfish for the first time. And we were all about God and praying constantly to Jesus,” she added. “We were literally praying and just trying to change our lives. And I feel like this is when we really grew up.”

“I feel like out of all of this, God was humbling us,” Kristina noted. “He was humbling us and letting us know, ‘I have another plan for you.’ He’s restoring us, and that’s what we feel like now. We are completely different people, but still ourselves.”

“We’re still the playful twins who did Playboy, but we care about other things now. We are all about organics. Everything we eat, all our food is organic. All our water’s alkaline, our sheets are organic,” she added.

These days, the twins continue to prioritize their mental and physical health the best way they can.

“We meditate every day together, and we’re into meal-prepping and not eating out, really self-care and just taking time for ourselves and learning how to be selfish, learning how to say no,” Karissa said.

“We went in our hearts, we went through our healing era, which took years. I didn’t think we would ever come out of it. But Michigan changed us. We love being in Michigan and then going to L.A. or Vegas for work,” Kristina added.
