ICE arrests convicted criminals in Los Angeles as riots rage on

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!

The Department of Homeland Security announced that several convicted criminals who are in the United States illegally were arrested as part of Immigration and Customs Enforcement operations in Los Angeles on Monday and Tuesday.

The ICE operations in Los Angeles triggered protests and riots in parts of the city, and President Donald Trump deployed National Guard troops to protect the federal immigration officers while they continued arrests.

“Murderers, pedophiles, and drug traffickers. These are the types of criminal illegal aliens that rioters are fighting to protect. How much longer will Governor Newsom and Mayor Karen Bass continue to prioritize these criminal illegal aliens over their own citizens?” Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin said in a statement on Wednesday.

“Secretary Noem has a message to the LA rioters: you will not stop us or slow us down. ICE will continue to enforce the law and arrest criminal illegal aliens,” McLaughlin added.

DHS highlighted nine arrests – all of whom the agency says are in the country illegally.

Mexican national Gerardo Antonio-Palacios had been deported before but was previously convicted of burglary and homicide. Cambodian national Mab Khleb, 53, was convicted of transporting and possession of a controlled substance, battery, and “lewd action with a child,” according to DHS.

Laotian Sang Louangprasert was criminally convicted of “lewd or lascivious acts with a child under 14” and “inflicting corporal injury, spouse or cohabitant.”

Mexican national Antonio Benitez-Ugarte was convicted on drug trafficking charges, and Alberto Morales-Mejia, also from Mexico, was convicted for amphetamine production.

Honduran national Carlos Alberto Escobar-Flores was also arrested, and he was previously convicted of grand theft. Another Honduran national, Jose Jimenez-Alvarado, was also arrested after a prior conviction of “two counts of theft.” Mexican national Jesus Romero-Retana, 52, had prior convictions of “threatening crime with intent to terrorize and battery.”

Another Mexican national, Raul Teran-Guillen, was previously arrested for “human smuggling and money laundering” before his ICE arrest this week.

The Trump administration has a goal of 3,000 ICE arrests daily in hopes of fulfilling the campaign trail promise of mass deportations following millions of people being let in during the Biden administration. The ICE efforts have received scrutiny from Democrats in California and nationwide, and saying that Trump’s decision to deploy the guard and conduct ICE sweeps is instigating.

“Donald Trump’s government isn’t protecting our communities. They’re traumatizing our communities,” Gov. Gavin Newsom said in a brief address on Tuesday night.

“Angelenos are trying to live their lives—going to work, caring for their families—while facing the constant threat of sudden immigration crackdowns,” Mayor Karen Bass posted to X on Wednesday morning. “This fear paralyzes communities. We saw it before: kids too scared to go to school, families torn apart without warning. Let’s not pretend this is about public safety. It’s political retribution—plain and simple.”

Fox News Digital reached out to the offices of Newsom and Bass for comment, but they did not immediately respond.

Trump reveals stance on Musk feud after billionaire’s stunning criticism

President Donald Trump says in a new podcast interview that he is open to reconciling with Elon Musk over their falling out due to Trump’s “big, beautiful bill.”

“Look, I have no hard feelings,” Trump said during an interview on “Pod Force One with Miranda Devine” that was published Wednesday. “I was really surprised that that happened. He went after a bill that’s phenomenal. He just — I think he feels very badly that he said that, actually.”

Musk, founder and CEO of SpaceX and Tesla, Inc., who headed up Trump’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) and was assigned to trim $2 trillion from the federal government’s budget, announced he was leaving DOGE in a post on X on May 28.

CALL WITH CHINA’S XI, AND TRUMP, MUSK EXCHANGE FUELED BARBS DURING 20TH WEEK IN OFFICE

The relationship between the two began souring after Musk called out Trump’s bill in a June 3 post on X, saying, “I’m sorry, but I just can’t stand it anymore. This massive, outrageous, pork-filled Congressional spending bill is a disgusting abomination. Shame on those who voted for it: you know you did wrong. You know it.”

The two then traded fierce social media barbs, with Musk even saying Trump was in the so-called Jeffrey “Epstein files.” The bill has been projected by the Congressional Budget Office to add trillions to the country’s already rising $36.2 trillion national debt.

Trump’s spending bill, meant to extend his 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act as well as provide new funding for the border and defense, passed the House on May 22 and is currently in the Senate.

Trump said that he was “disappointed” in Musk, but said things like this happen, and that he is open to mending fences.

“I guess I could, but we have to straighten out the country,” Trump said when Devine asked if he and Musk could become allies again. “And my sole function now is getting this country back to a level higher than it’s ever been. And I think we can do that.”

Trump made the comments on the inaugural episode of Devine’s “Pod Force One.”

Every week, the award-winning New York Post columnist will sit down for exclusive and candid conversations with the most influential disruptors in Washington.

WOULD DONALD TRUMP HAVE WON THE 2024 PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION WITHOUT ELON MUSK’S HELP?

Devine, who was the first to report on Hunter Biden’s scandalous laptop in 2020, will speak with top newsmakers and lawmakers, going beyond talking points to discussions aimed at shaping America’s future.

“On Pod Force One, I’ll be speaking to the most powerful people in the world, finding out what really drives them — their motivations, beliefs, and desires,” Devine said when announcing the project.

“Pod Force One” is available on NYPost.com, Spotify, Apple and everywhere you get your podcasts.

“We couldn’t have a better host than Miranda Devine. She’s a legend, and she’s bringing today’s biggest newsmakers to the mic. Get ready — we’re going to break some news,” Post Editor-in-Chief Keith Poole said.

Musk has appeared to soften his tone in recent days, saying in an X post on Wednesday, “I regret some of my posts about President @realDonaldTrump last week. They went too far.”

“I haven’t thought too much about him in the last little while, but the bill is so good,” Trump told Devine. “This bill is going to turn around this country so fast your head will spin, and it’s good for everyone.”

Later on Wednesday, Trump told the Post it was “very nice” that Musk had issued a mea culpa.

Devine told Fox News Digital she couldn’t have asked for a better first guest than Trump.

“He was generous with his time and full of fascinating insights about what makes him tick,” she said. “We talked about everything from Elon to Iran, drones over New Jersey to the secret of Joe Biden’s autopen. He even shared his tips for success in life and good parenting.”

Whistleblower asks DOJ to probe ‘disturbing pattern’ at blue state’s migrant shelters

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!

A former immigrant shelter director in Massachusetts is petitioning Attorney General Pam Bondi and the Department of Justice to launch an investigation into the “disturbing pattern” of criminal activity, sexual assaults and financial abuse that he says is widespread in the state-run migrant shelter system.

Jon Fetherston, a former director of an immigrant shelter in Marlborough, Massachusetts, first blew the whistle about the widespread abuse in the shelter system after he discovered a Haitian migrant named Ronald Joseph, who was living in his shelter, had repeatedly raped and impregnated his 13-year-old daughter.

Fetherston previously told Fox News Digital that as soon as Joseph heard he was losing custody of his daughter, he “reached across the table and grabbed me and got angry with me and started cursing and yelling and screaming and swinging at me because he realized what was happening.”

However, instead of being arrested immediately, Fetherston was directed to order Joseph a Lyft ride to another shelter in Worcester County. Joseph was not arrested until eight months in February.

US ATTORNEY ALINA HABBA ANNOUNCES REP. MCIVER HIT WITH FEDERAL CHARGES OVER NEWARK ICE CLASH

Though this case was particularly egregious, Fetherston said that “there is a lot of undocumented violence that goes on” and that rape, domestic violence, sex trafficking, drug dealing and other crimes are so commonplace in the Massachusetts shelter system that many incidents simply fall through the cracks.

Fetherston said, “The entire experience has shaken me to my core.”

In a letter sent to Bondi this Monday, Fetherston said that this was “not an isolated incident” but despite his raising the alarm, “there has been a deliberate wall of silence. No reforms. No accountability. Just more spin, stonewalling, and bureaucratic excuses.”

“This is a crisis—one that requires federal action now,” he said.

Fetherston is now asking Bondi to launch a full investigation into criminal activity and sexual violence within Massachusetts-run migrant shelters, widespread fraud and misuse of federal and state funds, the deliberate refusal to coordinate with federal law enforcement agencies and the pattern of retaliation against those reporting abuse, danger or misconduct.

REPUBLICAN STATE AGS SEEK ‘GAME PLAN’ FROM FBI, DOJ AMID ‘GROWING WAVE OF ANTISEMITIC DOMESTIC TERRORISM’

The former shelter director-turned-whistleblower said that “these crimes and failures cannot be brushed aside any longer,” because “innocent people—especially children—are being hurt, and the people responsible are being protected by silence and political calculation.”

Fetherston placed much of the blame for rampant mismanagement and abuse in the shelter system on Massachusetts Democratic Gov. Maura Healey, who has been extremely critical of the Trump administration’s immigration crackdown.

In a statement to Fox News Digital, Fetherston said that “the impact of the Healey administration’s hotel shelter policy has been devastating for both residents inside the shelters and the local communities surrounding them.”

“I personally witnessed traumatic incidents—including assaults, fraud, and serious mental health crises—with minimal intervention from the state,” he said.

BLUE STATE GOVERNOR SOUNDS OFF ABOUT ‘DISTURBING’ ICE OPERATIONS ON AFFLUENT LIBERAL ISLANDS

“Families were placed in overcrowded, poorly managed facilities with little to no oversight, where safety was constantly compromised,” he explained. “Local communities were never consulted, resulting in growing resentment and fear. Neighborhoods saw increased police calls, strain on emergency services, and the burden of absorbing hundreds of people without additional resources.”

He said the Healey administration’s “lack of transparency and refusal to collaborate with municipalities left both residents and local officials in the dark, with serious consequences.” He also claimed he has faced retaliation for speaking out, including “having my safety threatened, being publicly discredited, and physically targeted.”

“If you challenge the narrative, you’re silenced,” he said. “That culture of suppression has created a dangerous environment where truth is buried and accountability is nonexistent.”

Healey’s office did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital’s request for comment.

Healey has previously expressed outrage and called for a full audit of the state’s shelters after it was discovered that a 28-year-old illegal immigrant, Leonardo Andujar Sanchez, was discovered using a shelter to store an AR-15 and nearly $1 million in illegal drugs.

Latest in Maine trans athlete drama prompts censured lawmaker to celebrate

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!

Maine state Rep. Laurel Libby became a national figure in the movement to keep trans athletes out of girls’ sports in February when she called out a trans athlete for Greely High School who won a girls’ pole vault competition.

The post resulted in Libby being censured, which she fought all the way up to the Supreme Court to overturn. She was granted her voting rights back by the Supreme Court on May 15.

On Tuesday, the trans athlete that Libby’s post called out did not show up to compete in the Maine Class A track and field state championships, per multiple witnesses.

Libby reacted to the news in a statement to Fox News Digital.

“Yesterday a biological male who won the girls’ State Championship in February chose not to participate in the girls’ pole vault at Maine’s Class B Outdoor Track State Championship, and a girl rightfully won the State Championship,” Libby said.

“Our girls’ opportunities and podium placements should be decided by their hard work and performance, not the whims of others. All Maine girls should have the guarantee of a fair, safe and level playing field, which is not the case as long as our laws allow biological males to participate in girls’ sports.”

Fox News Digital has reached out to Greely High School for comment.

Female athletes took all the major medals in Maine’s girls’ track and field finals events Tuesday, after the competition was delayed from Saturday due to weather.

It marked the end of a contentious track and field season for the state, as the Greely High School trans athlete and another one representing North Yarmouth Academy competed against the backdrop of political conflict.

Maine’s current laws have resulted in girls across the state expressing outrage, as at least two trans athletes have won competitions in track and field, cross-country and Nordic skiing in recent years.

Presque Isle student Hailey Himes previously told Fox News Digital that she was at the February state meet that Libby posted about where the Greely High School trans athlete won first place in girls’ pole vault.

“I watched this male pole vaulter stand on the podium and we were all just like looking we were like ‘We’re pretty sure that’s not a girl. There’s no way that’s a girl,'” Himes said. “It was really discouraging, especially for the girls on the podium not in first place. So that motivated me to fight for them.”

MAINE TEENS BATTLING STATE DEMOCRATS ON GIRLS’ SPORTS BILL AFTER ENDURING TRANS ATHLETE CHAOS IN HIGH SCHOOL

Himes, along with her track and field teammates Cassidy Carlisle, Lucy Cheney and Carrlyn Buck, marched on the state capital of Augusta in early May to meet with GOP leaders on the issue and lobby the state legislature to pass bills banning biological males from girls’ sports.

Buck added, “It’s not just about the points, it’s also that our teammates are going to feel discouraged when placed in an event against them because they’re going in already knowing that the outcome is decided, with playing against a biological male who is biologically stronger than them, so they have no chance.”

As Libby fights a legal battle that included Supreme Court intervention to have her censure overturned, the state’s Democratic leadership is fighting a battle against President Donald Trump’s administration over the broader issue of trans athlete inclusion in girls’ sports.

The U.S. Department of Justice has filed a lawsuit against the state in response to Gov. Janet Milles openly defying Trump’s “Keeping Men Out of Women’s Sports” executive order.

A federal judge on Tuesday set a trial date of April 1, 2026, for that lawsuit.

Trump’s administration has said the Maine Department of Education is violating the federal Title IX anti-discrimination law by allowing transgender girls to participate on girls’ teams.

Meanwhile, Maine’s leaders have refused to agree to a written amendment to keep biological males out of girls’ sports, citing the Maine Human Rights Act’s protections to gender identity.

A survey by the American Parents Coalition found that out of about 600 registered Maine voters, 63% said school sports participation should be based on biological sex, and 66% agreed it is “only fair to restrict women’s sports to biological women.”

The poll also found that 60% of residents would support a ballot measure limiting participation in women’s and girls’ sports to biological females. This included 64% of independents and 66% of parents with kids under age 18.

Defense Secretary Hegseth makes major military change in unstable Middle East

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!

Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth has authorized the voluntary departure of U.S. military dependents from locations across the Middle East, a major move as tensions spike across the region.

A U.S. defense official told Fox News on Wednesday: “The safety and security of our service members and their families remains our highest priority and U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) is monitoring the developing tension in the Middle East. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth has authorized the voluntary departure of military dependents from locations across the CENTCOM AOR.”

The authorization affects U.S. bases throughout the CENTCOM area of responsibility, which includes key flashpoints like Iraq, Syria, Bahrain, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates.

It, however, mainly affects dependents who live in Bahrain near the U.S. Navy base.

HERE’S HOW MANY US SERVICE MEMBERS ARE SPENDING THE HOLIDAYS AWAY FROM HOME DEPLOYED OVERSEAS

Bahrain has a higher population of U.S. military dependents than other countries in the area.

No U.S. uniformed service members in the Middle East will be evacuating, two U.S. defense officials told Fox News.

While the Department of Defense (DOD) has not cited a specific threat, the move comes as Iran-backed militias increase activity and regional instability grows.

“CENTCOM is working in close coordination with our Department of State counterparts, as well as our Allies and partners in the region to maintain a constant state of readiness to support any number of missions around the world at any time,” the official added.

While voluntary departures aren’t rare, they typically kick in when a security environment worsens. U.S. doctrine, such as JP 3‑68, explicitly provides for the voluntary departure of command-sponsored dependents at government expense whenever threats rise.

“Voluntary departure of command‑sponsored military dependents, nonessential DOD civilian employees and their families, families of essential DOD civilian employees, and DOD dependents schools’ staff and faculty to an announced safe haven is encouraged and authorized at government expense, with return also at government expense,” reads JP 3-68.

Brian Wilson, The Beach Boys founder and lead songwriter, has died, his family confirmed on social media. He was 82.

“We are heartbroken to announce that our beloved father Brian Wilson has passed away,” they wrote. “We are at a loss for words right now.”

They added, “Please respect our privacy at this time as our family is grieving. We realize that we are sharing our grief with the world.”

The Beach Boys began with Brian and his two brothers, Carl and Dennis. Eventually, they were joined by their cousin, Mike Love, and a friend from school, Al Jardine. The band is one of the most commercially successful groups of all time, selling over 100 million records worldwide. They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1988.

In January 1963, The Beach Boys recorded their first top-10 single, “Surfin’ U.S.A.,” which began their long run of highly successful recording efforts.

They released “Summer Days (and Summer Nights!!)” in 1965, which included “California Girls” and “Help Me, Rhonda.” The following year, they released the critically acclaimed “Pet Sounds” album.

“I love the whole ‘Pet Sounds’ record,” Wilson said. “I got a full vision out of it in the studio. After that, I said to myself that I had completed the greatest album I will ever produce. I knew it. It was a spiritual record. I wanted to grow musically, to expand our horizons and do something that people would love, and I did it.”

Last year, Wilson was placed under a conservatorship following a dementia diagnosis.

The diagnosis, coupled with the death of Brian’s wife, Melinda Wilson, led his family and doctors to make the decision.

“Following the passing of Brian’s beloved wife Melinda, after careful consideration and consultation among Brian, his seven children, Gloria Ramos and Brian’s doctors (and consistent with family processes put in place by Brian and Melinda), we are confirming that longtime Wilson family representatives LeeAnn Hard and Jean Sievers will serve as Brian’s co-conservators of the person,” the family said in a statement to Fox News Digital at the time.

“This decision was made to ensure that there will be no extreme changes to the household and Brian and the children living at home will be taken care of and remain in the home where they are cared for by Gloria Ramos and the wonderful team at the house who have been in place for many years helping take care of the family,” the statement continued. “Brian will be able to enjoy all of his family and friends and continue to work on current projects as well as participate in any activities he chooses.”

According to a doctor’s declaration submitted to the court, Wilson was unable to self-administer his own medication or adhere to his medication scheduling. He also struggled with his ability to control his mood or emotions.

Wilson was previously placed under a conservatorship in the ’90s after being involved with psychologist Eugene Landy.

Landy became a live-in psychologist and business partner. Family members said Landy over-medicated Wilson based on a paranoid schizophrenic diagnosis. This, along with other worrisome issues, caused a conservatorship request by the family to separate Wilson from the troubling doctor.

Griffin warns ‘The View’ co-hosts against smearing ICE agents following Trump orders

“The View” co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin warned her co-hosts on Wednesday against “demonizing” Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in their discussion about the LA riots.

“I think Trump is not doing this just for optics,” co-host Sunny Hostin said. “I think that this is a test case so that he can dismantle some of our institutions. I think it’s a power grab. I think he is trying to use the might of the military to suppress people’s rights. I think that is very clear. When you use the military against your own citizens, that is a sign of fascism. That is just the truth.”

The co-hosts continued to criticize the president for his decision to send in troops to aid law enforcement.

Griffin then urged the co-hosts to be careful not to “take the bait,” as Hostin insisted that she didn’t think it was bait.

NEWSOM SAYS LOS ANGELES RIOTERS WILL BE PROSECUTED, SLAMS TRUMP FOR ‘TRAUMATIZING OUR COMMUNITIES’

“I haven’t made my point yet,” Griffin said. “The ICE agents, those are nonpartisan actors, for the most part, who signed up for jobs and served under multiple administrations. They did not necessarily sign up to be doing this, and they’re following an order of the commander-in-chief.”

Co-host Whoopi Goldberg and Hostin said they weren’t demonizing them.

“We’re saying this is the result of ICE, ICE’s actions,” Hostin insisted. The liberal co-host blamed ICE for the crisis in LA on Tuesday.

Griffin added, “I think it’s important to remember it’s the commander-in-chief that made the decision. They’re following the orders.”

Goldberg then made a seeming comparison to Germany in the 1930s, saying, “Where have you heard that before? ‘I’m just following orders from the commander-in-chief.'”

Goldberg agreed with co-host Sara Haines, who said she didn’t blame the National Guard or the Marines, but said they needed to be careful.

“I think it’s important we remember statistically the National Guard, the Marines and even these ICE agents… half of them probably have your political views. Half of them are probably pretty uncomfortable with these orders. They have families at home. They have bills to pay, and they’re questioning should I walk away from this,” Griffin pushed back.

Goldberg agreed and then went on to say construction companies and more would have a harder time getting people to work without immigrants.

Diddy’s ex testifies to dark truth behind rapper’s ‘hotel nights’ as texts emerge

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!

Sean “Diddy” Combs’ ex-girlfriend, testifying under the pseudonym Jane, claimed the rapper made her delete social media posts showing him while allegedly forcing her to participate in “hotel nights.”

The jury was shown a photo of Diddy at the popular sushi spot, Nobu, before a “hotel night.” Jane confirmed she and the “Gotta Move On” rapper went to dinner before with two male escorts, Paul and Don. Jane testified during cross-examination that Combs made her delete a social media post from the dinner.

The jury was then shown text messages between Jane and Diddy dated March 2, 2022. Jane was coordinating coming to Miami before the Nobu dinner. Diddy’s text read, “Everyone can post…” Jane responded, telling Diddy to have another woman delete a post. According to Jane, this was a fight that occurred after a “hotel night” because Jane saw the rapper’s other girlfriend, Gina, post a picture wearing a “love necklace.” Jane claimed she had a matching “love bracelet.”

Jane explained that those nights were so “emotionally excruciating, so to see these things was really hurtful.” Jane testified she was upset that Gina could post on social media, but she could not.

DIDDY’S ALLEGED ‘SEXUAL DEVIANT’ BEHAVIOR DOESN’T PROVE GOVERNMENT’S CASE: EXPERT

Jane’s cross-examination began Tuesday by Diddy’s criminal defense lawyer, Teny Geragos. She questioned Jane about her relationship with the rapper and her participation in the allegedly forced “hotel nights.”

Jane testified Diddy was upfront with her about dating multiple women at the start of their relationship in 2021. She explained the rapper was “polyamorous” and she was okay with that at the time. She testified at first she didn’t mind because she was just getting to know Diddy.

Diddy paid Jane’s rent through their “love contract,” according to her testimony. The ex-girlfriend told the prosecution that she felt obligated to perform at “hotel nights” for the rapper because he had threatened to stop paying for her home. For “hotel nights,” Jane claimed she was expected to dress in lingerie and have sex with other men in front of the rapper.

DIDDY’S EX PAUSES TRIAL TESTIMONY FOLLOWING STAND-OFF WITH RAPPER’S LAWYER

The cross-examination became heated when Geragos began questioning Jane about the money he spent on her and gifts she received from the rapper.

Texts to Diddy from Jane about the “Last Night” rapper buying purses for another woman were brought up in court. Geragos commented that Jane also received a bag of her own.

“No, I only got trauma … after three-and-a-half years, I really don’t think I garnered anything,” Jane told the court. Geragos pressed, “How much do Bottega bags cost?” to which Jane replied, “How much does my body cost?” before asking the court for a break from testimony. When court resumed, Jane apologized to Geragos.

Geragos also brought up Diddy’s alleged drug use. Jane testified that when she first met the raper, she knew he consumed drugs. However, she claimed she didn’t know how much.

During a trip early on in their relationship, Jane claimed it became apparent the rapper wasn’t taking care of himself after she noticed his eyes and teeth. The music mogul allegedly appeared jaundiced, his gums were gray, and his hands were shaky from over-consuming alcohol.

Jane said she spoke to him about rehab and suggested a trip to Thailand. “What the h—, you think I need rehab?” Jane claimed Diddy said at the time.

Before cross-examination began Tuesday, Judge Arun Subramanian denied Diddy’s second request for a mistrial. Diddy’s legal team had argued that the prosecution knowingly presented false testimony to the court in a letter filed June 7 and obtained by Fox News Digital.

The defense pointed to testimony from Bryana “Bana” Bongolan, who claimed Diddy dangled her off a 17th floor balcony in September 2016. Portions of her testimony were questioned after she couldn’t remember details of the alleged incident, including what drugs she was on at the time.

However, the federal judge ruled there was no interference. Judge Subramanian noted the defense was able to, and did, attack Bongolan’s testimony to undermine her credibility. According to the judge, there was no prejudice to an exhibit that had helped the defense’s case.
