Boeing 787 flight crashes in residential area minutes after takeoff from Indian city

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!

An Air India passenger plane carrying more than 200 people crashed Thursday after taking off from an airport in the Indian city of Ahmedabad.

Air India flight AI 171, a Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner bound for London’s Gatwick Airport, crashed into a residential area called Meghani Nagar five minutes after taking off at 1:38 p.m. local time, Faiz Ahmed Kidwai, the director general of the directorate of civil aviation, told The Associated Press. There were 242 passengers and crew members onboard the flight.

“With profound sorrow I confirm that Air India Flight 171 operating Ahmedabad London Gatwick was involved in a tragic accident today. Our thoughts and deepest condolences are with the families and loved ones of all those affected by this devastating event,” Air India Chairman Natarajan Chandrasekaran wrote on X.

Local media showed smoke billowing from the crash site near the airport in northwestern India.  The plane issued a “mayday” call to air traffic control before plunging out of the sky, Reuters reported.

“At this moment, our primary focus is on supporting all the affected people and their families. We are doing everything in our power to assist the emergency response teams at the site and to provide all necessary support and care to those impacted,” Chandrasekaran added.

Air India said of those onboard the plane, 169 are from India, 53 are from Britain, 7 are from Portugal and 1 is from Canada. The injured are being taken to local hospitals.

“The building on which it has crashed is a doctors’ hostel… we have cleared almost 70% to 80% of the area and will clear the rest soon,” a senior police officer told Reuters.

London’s Gatwick Airport also wrote on X that “We can confirm that flight AI171 that crashed on departure from Ahmedabad Airport today was due to land at London Gatwick at 18:25.”

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi said “The tragedy in Ahmedabad has stunned and saddened us.

“It is heartbreaking beyond words. In this sad hour, my thoughts are with everyone affected by it. Have been in touch with Ministers and authorities who are working to assist those affected,” he said.

“The scenes emerging of a London-bound plane carrying many British nationals crashing in the Indian city of Ahmedabad are devastating,” British Prime Minister Keir Starmer added.

India’s Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu Kinjarapu posted on X that rescue teams have been mobilized, and all efforts are being made to ensure medical aid and relief support at the site.

“We are on highest alert. I am personally monitoring the situation,” he said.

The 787 Dreamliner is a widebody, twin-engine plane. This is the first crash ever of a Boeing 787 aircraft, according to the Aviation Safety Network database.

The aircraft was introduced in 2009 and more than 1,000 have been delivered to dozens of airlines, Flightradar24 reported.

“We are aware of initial reports and are working to gather more information,” Boeing said in a statement.

In August 2020 an Air India Express Boeing-737 skidded off a hilltop runway in southern India, killing 21 people.

Chaos erupts as protesters defy emergency curfew over Venezuelan asylum detainment

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!

Spokane, Washington has now been declared a state of emergency after protesters failed to cooperate with Mayor Lisa Brown’s curfew that began at 9:30 p.m. Wednesday until 5 a.m.

Brown issued the curfew amid ICE protests downtown from Boone Ave to Spokane Falls Blvd and Howard St to Division St, as well as Riverfront Park.

The protests began after former Spokane City Councilman Ben Stuckart issued a call to action asking for support for the detainment of a Venezuelan man seeking asylum.

“ACTION ALERT: Three weeks ago I became the legal guardian to a young man from Venezuela seeking asylum. He has turned in all paperwork and has a future court hearing. I went with him to ICE check in today. They detained him and are shipping him to Tacoma,” his post read. “I am asking that if you care at all about these illegal detainers you meet me at 411 West Cataldo by 2pm. I am going to sit in front of the bus. Feel free to join me…….The Latino community needs the rest of our community now. Not tonight, not Saturday but right now!!!!”

MAYOR BASS BLAMES TRUMP’S ICE RAIDS FOR STARTING RIOTS WHILE CLAIMING ‘THINGS IN LA ARE CALM’

Stuckart became the legal guardian of the 21-year-old Venezuelan man 3 weeks ago.

Spokane Police Department and the county sheriff’s office are currently on the scene and are also calling the gathering unlawful.

Spokane County Commissioner Josh Kerns issued a statement referencing the two active riots in the City of Spokane.

“The unrest we have seen in the City of Spokane is unacceptable,” said Commissioner Kerns. “I stand with the dedicated men and women of law enforcement who put themselves in harm’s way to protect lives, businesses, and public safety.” He continued, “Thank you to our police officers, deputies, and their families tonight. We support you and have your back”.

Commissioner Kerns also stated, “I strongly support every American’s First Amendment right to speak freely and protest peacefully—but that right does not include violence, obstruction of law enforcement, destruction of property, or putting others at risk. We must uphold both our freedoms and our responsibility to exercise them lawfully.”

Brown also released a statement on the gathering.

“I am aware of the situation unfolding outside of the Federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement office in Spokane. The City of Spokane respects and upholds everyone’s First Amendment rights and right to be on public property.

“The City of Spokane continues to uphold the Keep Washington Working Act. The Spokane Police Department will address violations of Spokane Municipal Code.

White House slams Democrat’s gender claim against Treasury chief as ‘shameful’

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!

A House Ways and Means Committee hearing took an unexpected turn Wednesday when Rep. Linda Sanchez (D-CA) accused Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent of interrupting her because of her gender—prompting audible groans from the room.

The exchange occurred during a tense five-minute questioning session, where Sanchez challenged Bessent on the impact of tariffs enacted under President Trump’s administration.

“Prices are rising on many everyday goods,” Sanchez said, citing increases in clothing, shoes, canned food, toys, and household tools. She added, “On average, Trump’s tariffs are estimated to cost households $3,000 more for the same goods than they would have last year,” though she did not cite the source of the figure when pressed.

TRUMP SAYS ‘TOTAL RESET NEGOTIATED’ WITH CHINA DURING TARIFF TALKS IN GENEVA

When Bessent attempted to interject, Sanchez quickly cut him off: “Please don’t interrupt me… I know I’m a woman, but please try to limit yourself to answering my questions.”

That remark prompted groans from the hearing room, with one attendee audibly reacting, “Oh, come on.” Sanchez responded: “No, I’m sorry, but we get talked over all the time, and I don’t want that to happen at this hearing.”

Bessent, who is openly gay, did not address the accusation and instead focused on defending the administration’s trade policies.

When Sanchez challenged him on pricing impacts and China’s trade behavior, Bessent responded, “That’s incorrect,” and said, “They met their agreements under President Trump in 2020, and President Biden did not enforce them.”

WH SLAMS DEMS’ ‘PARTISAN GAMES’ AFTER TRUMP-FOE SCHIFF CALLS FOR INSIDER TRADING INVESTIGATION OVER TARIFFS

Sanchez repeatedly claimed that American consumers are paying more due to tariffs and described recent negotiations with China as rushed and lacking transparency. “A poorly negotiated trade deal with China is probably not worth the paper that it is written on,” she said. “I was alarmed to hear this morning that Trump said the U.S.–China deal was done after just two days of talks in London.”

Bessent defended the agreement as an initial step. “The deal struck was for a specific goal, and it will be a much longer process,” he said, adding, “China has proven an unreliable partner.”

The clash between Sanchez and Bessent was repeatedly moderated by Chairman Adrian Smith (R-NE), who reminded members of time limits and decorum throughout the hearing.

The moment quickly spread across social media, where the White House’s official rapid response account weighed in, calling the move “shameful.”

2 former presidents joined effort to silence him during COVID controversy, Rogan claims

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!

Podcaster Joe Rogan claimed Tuesday that two unnamed former presidents were involved in the protest against his skeptical discussions about COVID-19.

Spotify received backlash in 2022 for allowing Rogan, one of its biggest stars, to spread what progressive critics claimed was COVID misinformation. Musician Neil Young famously removed his content from Spotify in protest over Rogan’s rhetoric, saying he no longer wanted to share a platform with him.

“And then all of a sudden, I hear that Neil Young wants me removed from Spotify. I was like, ‘What the f— is going on? This is crazy,’” Rogan said Tuesday.

“Spotify got calls from two former presidents,” he added.

ROGAN SLAMS CNN FOR ‘FORCE-FEEDING ME MORONS’ INSTEAD OF DELIVERING NEWS

Then-Biden White House press secretary Jen Psaki commented on the controversy directly. After Spotify announced it would flag podcasts that cover COVID-19, Psaki responded, “So this disclaimer, it’s a positive step, but we want every platform to continue doing more to call out misinformation while also uplifting accurate information.”

“Our hope is that all major tech platforms — and all major news sources for that matter — be responsible and be vigilant to ensure the American people have access to accurate information on something as significant as COVID-19,” she added.

But Rogan said that instead of being censored or deplatformed, “I grew by 2 million subscribers in a month.”

“People started listening,” he said, despite how his critics attacked his reputation. “And they started listening, like, ‘Oh, he’s really reasonable and pretty humble about all this stuff and just asking questions.’”

Rogan also condemned how media outlets attacked his use of Ivermectin to treat his COVID-19 by referring to it as a horse dewormer.

“I’m, like, ‘Why aren’t you guys concentrating on the fact that a 55-year-old man is fine three days later during the worst strain?’ It was during the Delta where everybody’s freaking out. ‘This one’s going to kill us all.’ And I was fine in three days,” he said.

Rogan described the whole experience as a “wake-up call” that opened his eyes about the liberal legacy media.

“It’s so dirty. It’s such a dirty business,” Rogan said. “God, I used to have massive respect for journalists. If I had never done this podcast, I would be your regular schmo out there with, you know, just spitting out all the company lines and all the blast all over the news.”

“I kind of liked it better then,” he said with a laugh. “I didn’t think the world is filled with demons, money-hungry demons that are willing to sacrifice human lives in the pursuit of revenue.”

Spotify founder and CEO Daniel Ek addressed the pushback against hosting Rogan during the company’s earnings call in February 2022.

“I think the important part here is that we don’t change our policies based on one creator, nor do we change it based on any media cycle,” the chief executive said at the time. “Our policies have been carefully written with the input from numbers of internal and external experts in this space – and I do believe they’re right for our platform.”

GOP targets millions in ‘unemployment for millionaires’ with new budget proposals

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!

EXCLUSIVE: A group of DOGE-minded lawmakers is rolling out a series of budget proposals to add to the Senate version of the One Big Beautiful Bill Act narrowly passed by the House.

The effort, led by Senate DOGE Caucus Chairwoman Joni Ernst, will include several major proposals forged by Republicans from both chambers, seeking to help offset trillions in extant government spending.

While a $9.4 billion rescissions package, a formal request from the executive branch to codify its DOGE cuts, is in the works, proponents of the Senate DOGE package say their total estimated savings would accentuate that and also surpass it in value.

NATIONAL DEBT TRACKER: AMERICAN TAXPAYERS (YOU) ARE NOW ON THE HOOK FOR $36,215,685,667.36 AS OF 6/9/25

“We have a ‘big, beautiful’ opportunity to reduce reckless spending and save billions of dollars,” Ernst told Fox News Digital Thursday.

“Defunding welfare for politicians, stopping bogus payments and ending unemployment for millionaires are just the start of my commonsense solutions to continue rooting out waste, fraud and abuse. Washington has lived high on the hog for far too long, and now is the time to tighten the belt,” the Senate DOGE chairwoman added.

Senate DOGE addendums to the Big Beautiful Bill Act during negotiations will include a plan from Ernst called the ELECT Act, which she said claws back hundreds of millions of dollars treated as “welfare for politicians.”

While $320 million from the fund was diverted to the Secret Service last year, the current $17 million sitting in the account is expected to rise to the $400 million it typically sat at by the end of the year, Fox News Digital has learned.

‘AMERICA HAS DOGE FEVER’: STATES FROM NJ TO TX DRAFT SIMILAR INITIATIVES AS FEDERAL LEADERS CELEBRATE

Partnered in that first piece of the DOGE package is also language stripping former presidents of certain perks like additional taxpayer-funded office space and non-security-related staff.

More than a dozen Senate Republicans also signed onto that portion of the package.

“The federal government must be held accountable for every tax dollar spent,” said co-sponsor Mike Lee of Utah.

House DOGE Caucus Chair Aaron Bean, R-Fla., also contributed to the package. The Senate version of his DOGE in Spending Act will be included in Senate negotiations.

That portion requires any government expenditure to be accompanied by a tangible record to be provided to the Treasury after DOGE found $160 billion in taxpayer funds being distributed without an identification code or in a fraudulent manner.

“The American people deserve a government that is efficient, accountable and fiscally responsible. That’s why the House successfully advanced DOGE reforms through reconciliation that will safeguard America’s financial future,” Bean told Fox News Digital.

“I encourage the Senate to build on the work we’ve done in the House to deliver lasting fiscal responsibility to the American people.”

Other pieces of the Senate’s DOGE package include ending what proponents call “unemployment for millionaires,” disqualifying people earning more than $1 million per year who lose their jobs from any unemployment support.

More than $271 million had been disbursed to that bloc between 2021-2023, proponents said.

Rep. Scott Perry, R-Pa., a former chairman of the conservative House Freedom Caucus, is leading the Protecting Taxpayers’ Wallet Act in the lower chamber. The bill’s language, which ends taxpayer-funded union time when government workers negotiate their contracts while on the clock, will be included in the Senate DOGE package.

Another portion will compel the sale of six unused or underutilized federal buildings in Washington, D.C., that lawmakers say would free up $400 million in savings annually.

The final portion will “snap back inaccurate SNAP payments,” Ernst said.

The effort will work to identify errors, force collection of overpayments to SNAP recipients and hold states with high levels of their own payment inaccuracies accountable for their negligence.

In 2023, approximately $11 billion in SNAP funds were overpaid, but the package’s authors noted individual errors of $54 or less aren’t included in the tally.

Democrats have been critical of DOGE efforts and the separate rescissions package. Sen. Chris Coons, D-Del., told Fox News Thursday a successful version of the latter hasn’t passed since the first Bush administration.

“Congress’ role in setting spending would be done away with, so this first rescission should be defeated,” he said.

Negative mindset linked to shocking brain abnormalities that doctors never expected

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!

A negative mindset is known to trigger or heighten stress and anxiety — and new research has revealed other trickle-down effects on mental and physical health.

Researchers from Amen Clinics, a nationwide brain health diagnostics company, examined brain scans and cognitive data of nearly 20,000 patients who had been diagnosed with anxiety disorders.

Brain disorder specialist and psychiatrist Dr. Daniel Amen was the co-author of the study and is the founder of Amen Clinics.

DITCHING THE LAWNMOWER MAY HAVE UNEXPECTED HEALTH BENEFITS, ACCORDING TO EXPERTS

The people who had higher negativity bias were found to have reduced blood flow in the frontal, temporal and parietal lobes — regions critical for decision-making, memory and emotional regulation, according to Amen.

“The extent of physical brain abnormalities — especially in areas not previously linked to emotional processing, like the cerebellum — was striking,” he noted.

These more negative people were also found to have “significantly higher levels” of depression, anxiety, suicidal ideation, emotional instability, poor memory and poor stress regulation.

“Not only were mood symptoms worse, but actual thinking skills — especially memory and resilience — were compromised,” Amen observed.

“Until we start looking at the brain, we are flying blind in psychiatry.”

The findings were published in the journal Depression and Anxiety.

“This research supports what I have long argued: Mental illness is brain illness,” the researcher went on. “Until we start looking at the brain, we are flying blind in psychiatry.”

There were some limitations to note with this study, primarily its cross-sectional design, which means it captured data from a snapshot in time rather than following the group for an extended period.

“The study shows association, not causation,” Amen told Fox News Digital. “While negativity bias correlates with dysfunction, it doesn’t definitively cause it.”

Based on the study findings, Amen emphasized the importance of optimizing brain health and maintaining a more positive mindset.

“If you want to treat mental health seriously, you need to look at the brain,” he said.

“If you find yourself spiraling into negative thoughts, it may not be ‘just stress’— it could be a sign that your brain needs help.”

Negativity bias isn’t just a “bad attitude,” according to Amen — “it’s a neurological pattern that can spiral into full-blown cognitive and emotional breakdown.”

“The good news? The brain is changeable — but only if we start looking at it.”

While the study didn’t delve into testing potential solutions, Amen noted that daily positivity practices can be beneficial.

“Broader research suggests that exercise, meditation, omega-3 consumption, gratitude journaling and deep breathing can help rewire negativity bias over time,” he said.

Juror issues threaten Diddy trial as judge to weigh possible dismissal: expert

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!

Juror issues marred the 21st day of testimony in Sean “Diddy” Combs’ federal trial for sex crimes.

Before cross-examination continued Wednesday of Diddy’s ex-girlfriend, who testified using the pseudonym “Jane,” the defense told Judge Arun Subramanian that they’d like to respond to the government’s attempt to dismiss a Black juror from the case. The U.S. Attorney’s Office allegedly told the court that while the situation was less than desirable, they were compelled to because of a lack of candor.

The judge told the court he would rule on the issue if there was any basis for removing a juror and once the defense submitted a letter.

New York attorney Nicole Brenecki told Fox News Digital that complications with the jury could lead to severe problems down the road, including a possible mistrial.

DIDDY ALLEGEDLY WANTED ONE LAST DRUG-FUELED NIGHT AFTER REHAB PUSH: TESTIMONY

“Every time that we engage in a jury trial, there’s a process called voir dire, which is a process that both attorneys engage in, under the supervision of a judge, where the attorneys have an opportunity to question the potential jurors and ask them questions to make sure that they are not biased, that they’re truthful, and that they are capable of adjudicating this case on its facts and not based on their individual biases or prejudice or whatever,” Brenecki said.

DIDDY’S ALLEGED ‘SEXUAL DEVIANT’ BEHAVIOR DOESN’T PROVE GOVERNMENT’S CASE: EXPERT

“If there’s a letter discussing lack of candor, that means that maybe that juror just wanted to be on the jury because it’s a high-profile case or because it involves a celebrity or perhaps for other personal reasons, but the lack of candor has to go to the fact that that juror potentially is biased in one way or another.”

In court on Tuesday, Diddy’s lawyers objected to the U.S. Attorney’s Office’s request to remove Juror No. 6 from the case.

“We object to ask Juror No. 6 being stricken, and I understand the colloquy is under seal, so I don’t want to explain further on the record now, but if the government is going to put in a letter … we’d like the opportunity to be heard either in writing or tomorrow morning,” Diddy attorney Alexandra Shapiro said.

The judge said “everyone will be fully heard on this issue” once a letter is filed with the court.

Former federal prosecutor Neama Rahmani highlighted the negative effects a tainted jury may have on a case.

“The big news of the day is that the judge is considering removing Juror 6 for lack of candor. That means he lied, in layman’s terms. … This request was made by the prosecution, and the defense is trying to keep him on. For what it’s worth, Juror 6 is a Black male and a ’90s hip-hop fan.”

On Wednesday, Jane continued testimony about “hotel nights,” where she claimed one time there were three entertainers at the party, and she allegedly did not take any drugs. She testified that while she agreed to the party, she also resented Diddy “for knowing how much I loved him and knowing how I couldn’t say no to him.”

Under direct examination last week, the government asked Jane if she and Diddy experienced “hotel nights” without drugs. Jane explained that the former couple attempted the nights a handful of times, and it was at Diddy’s request in October 2023 that they tried a “sobriety party.”

“Around this time, I just really wanted my partner to get sober,” Jane testified. “I just really cared so much about Sean’s health, and I could see that he just, like, was excessively partying on top of just so many pills that he takes daily for I don’t know what. And I just really wanted him to get clean and just get better.”

She continued, “And he said, ‘OK, I’m going to do like 30 days without anything, and I’ll be sober. But let’s just have, like, one more, one more sobriety party, just one, like, sobriety party.'”

When asked what drugs Diddy used during the “sobriety party,” Jane replied, “I believe ecstasy and cocaine, I don’t know.” She also alleged the party lasted “too long,” claiming it was “close to 12 to 18 hours.”

Before cross-examination began Tuesday, Subramanian denied Diddy’s second request for a mistrial. Diddy’s legal team had argued that the prosecution knowingly presented false testimony to the court in a letter filed June 7 and obtained by Fox News Digital.

In a federal indictment unsealed on Sept. 17, Combs was charged with racketeering conspiracy (RICO); sex trafficking by force, fraud or coercion; and transportation to engage in prostitution. If found guilty, he faces a minimum of 15 years behind bars or a maximum sentence of life in prison.

He has maintained his innocence throughout the trial, in which witnesses have testified to alleged rape, sexual assault, severe physical abuse, forced labor and drug trafficking. The trial is expected to wrap by July 4.

Jane’s cross-examination is expected to finish Thursday morning, and the government indicated they will rest their case by next Friday, but as early as next Wednesday.

Trump unveils golden ticket to citizenship for those willing to pay steep price

Foreign nationals with an extra $5 million can now register to be notified about when they can sign up to receive a fast pass to U.S. citizenship, also known as the “Trump Card.”

President Donald Trump shared information about the program on Truth Social Wednesday night.

“FOR FIVE MILLION $DOLLARS, THE TRUMP CARD IS COMING!” the post said. “Thousands have been calling and asking how they can sign up to ride a beautiful road in gaining access to the Greatest Country and Market anywhere in the World. It’s called THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA! THE WAITING LIST IS NOW OPEN. To sign up, go to – TRUMPCARD.GOV.”

Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick reposted Trump’s social media message, saying in another post, “The wait is over.” He then shared a link to the Trump Card website for people to get more information.

TRUMP’S ‘GOLD CARD’ VISA PLAN A BOON FOR AMERICAN ECONOMY, EXPERT SAYS: ‘MUTUALLY BENEFICIAL’

The site shows an image of a gold card with Trump’s headshot on it, which says, “The Trump Card.” It also has his signature on the card and the number 5,000,000.

Lutnick was a guest at Axios’ streamed event, Building the Future, last month, where he told the company’s co-founder, Mike Allen, that the card’s website would be up and running in about a week.

“The details of that will come soon after, but people can start to register. And all that will come over a matter of the next weeks — not months, weeks,” Lutnick said.

He acknowledged not everyone will be able to afford the Trump Card, but it will be available to those who can afford to help America pay off its debt.

TRUMP TO INTRODUCE ‘GOLD CARD’ VISA FOR WEALTHY INVESTORS WITH $5 MILLION PRICE TAG: ‘ROUTE TO CITIZENSHIP’

“Why wouldn’t they want a plan B that says God forbid something bad happens, you come to the airport in America and the person in immigration says, ‘Welcome home.’ Right? As opposed to, ‘Where the heck am I going if something bad’s happening in my country,’” Lutnick continued

He noted that everyone will be vetted for a card, adding those who come in with $5 million for a visa are going to be “great people who are going to come and bring businesses and opportunity to America. And they’re going to pay $5 million.”

Lutnick offered one more hypothetical scenario, saying if 200,000 people purchase the card for $5 million, that’s $1 trillion.

COMMERCE SECRETARY LUTNICK ATTEMPTS TO CALM CONCERNS OVER TRUMP’S ‘GOLD CARD’ VISA PITCH

“Remember, we get 280,000 visas per year now for free, not counting the 20 million people who broke into this country for nothing under Biden,” Lutnick said. “And, so, I want you to think about that. We give it away for free and said Donald Trump’s gonna bring in a trillion dollars for what purpose? To make America better. And it makes perfect sense to me.”

Trump has previously touted his plan before to attract the world’s wealthiest to become U.S. citizens, though it comes at a time when he is both clamping down on illegal migration and as universities are increasingly in the spotlight amid soaring school costs and crippling student loans.

In an interview in February with Fox News Chief Political Anchor Bret Baier on “Special Report,” Lutnick said all candidates will be “deeply vetted.”

“These are vetted people,” Lutnick told Baier. “These are going to be great global citizens who are going to bring entrepreneurial spirit, capacity and growth to America. If one of them comes in, think of the jobs they are going to bring with them, the businesses they are going to bring with them. And they are going to pay American taxes as well. So, this is huge money for America.”

David Beckham’s royal bond grows stronger as family drama unfolds with son Brooklyn

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!

David Beckham’s relationship with King Charles III has reportedly grown stronger than ever as both men endure family feuds.

Multiple outlets in the U.K. have recently reported that the co-owner of Inter Miami CF and Salford City will be knighted by the king, 76, for his soccer career and contributions to the U.K. His wife, Victoria Beckham, would then become “Lady Beckham.”

Fox News Digital reached out to a spokesperson for the Beckhams and Buckingham Palace for comment.

MEGHAN MARKLE AND PRINCE HARRY HOST BROOKLYN BECKHAM, NICOLA PELTZ AMID FAMILY TENSIONS ON BOTH SIDES: REPORT

“David’s relationship with King Charles III has grown stronger in recent years, especially through their shared interest in beekeeping and environmental sustainability,” British royals expert Hilary Fordwich told Fox News Digital. “David even gifted the king a jar of homemade honey as a coronation gift and was recently appointed as an ambassador for The King’s Foundation.”

“Interestingly, there are parallels between the Beckhams’ family feud and the Sussexes’, similarities in generational divides and public perception,” Fordwich shared. “The Beckhams’ public alignment with the royals reinforces them as loyal subjects and national icons.”

Beckham’s honor is coming as reported tensions involving his eldest son, Brooklyn Beckham, and his wife, Nicola Peltz, have been making headlines. The couple have reportedly distanced themselves, fueling rumors of a family rift.

The king’s younger son, Prince Harry, also told the BBC in May that he’s ready to reconcile with his family, but the patriarch won’t speak with him.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex stepped back as senior royals in 2020, citing the unbearable intrusions of the British press and a lack of support from the palace.

“David and Victoria’s stalwart support and loyalty towards the royals via public support, charitable works and personal friendships is in stark contrast to their deliberate distance and resulting estrangement from Harry and Meghan,” Fordwich claimed.

“This knighthood not only cements David’s legacy but also symbolically unites two prominent British families amid ongoing public scrutiny and internal drama,” she said.

Brooklyn and Peltz have been noticeably missing from the Beckham family’s gatherings, including Beckham’s 50th birthday bash, People reported. According to the outlet, the pair were invited, but there are “tensions” between the young couple and the family. Still, “the relationship is definitely not beyond repair.”

Brooklyn said “I do” to Peltz, an American actress, in 2022. They have been together since 2019. According to reports, Peltz has bumped heads with her famous in-laws, sparking rumors of an ongoing rift.

Similarly, the Sussexes have faced their own very public family issues.

Following their royal exit, they aired their grievances in interviews and documentaries. Harry’s tell-all 2023 memoir, “Spare,” filled with private details and embarrassing revelations about the House of Windsor, made things worse. Sources close to Harry previously told People magazine that the king, who was diagnosed with cancer in 2024, won’t respond to the 40-year-old’s letters or phone calls.

WATCH: PRINCE HARRY LOOKING TO RECONCILE WITH KING CHARLES, ROYAL FAMILY

Harry and Meghan remain estranged from the royal family. Like Peltz, Meghan, a former American actress, has been blamed for tensions between Harry and his family.

“Rumors about Brooklyn Beckham’s reported feud within his family are not relevant,” royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams told Fox News Digital. “The Beckhams are a unique pair who have the level of global influence the Sussexes can only dream of.”

Royal expert Ian Pelham Turner told Fox News Digital that the Beckhams have been loyal to the monarchy over the years.

“It would be a mistake to compare them to the status of Harry and Meghan, who have a royal background,” said Turner. “…the Beckhams have supported Harry in the past but have leaned towards Prince William and Kate Middleton.”

Beckham’s knighthood has been a long time coming.

The star received an OBE (Order of the British Empire) in 2003, People magazine reported. The Guardian also pointed out that the former Manchester United player was put forward to receive a knighthood over 10 years ago when he was nominated in 2011.

In addition to playing for England’s national soccer team over 100 times, Beckham has been recognized for his charitable work with children from underprivileged backgrounds, People magazine reported.

According to the outlet, he’s been an ambassador for UNICEF since 2005, played an important role in the 2012 Olympics and became an ambassador for the King’s Foundation, Charles’s charity, in 2024. In a statement at the time, Beckham said his goal was to help young people “have greater access to nature.”

“It is utterly ridiculous that it has taken until now to honor David Beckham, who is something of a phenomenon, with a knighthood,” Fitzwilliams explained.

“He has done a great deal for charity, especially UNICEF, and was involved in bringing the Olympic Games to London in 2012,” he shared. “The value of his endorsement is simply amazing. From his tattoos to his footwear, there is a fascination with everything about him. His wife, Victoria, who also received an OBE for her work as a designer, was a member of the Spice Girls, one of the most successful girl bands of all time.”

“Victoria’s fashion line has also found favor with the royals, with Princess Catherine being spotted in her designs multiple times,” chimed Fordwich. “The Beckhams have recently attended state banquets and deepened their involvement in royal charitable initiatives.”

Just last month, Beckham joined Charles at the Royal Horticultural Society’s Chelsea Flower Show in London, People reported. The outlet noted that Beckham was wearing a rose that was named in the king’s honor. He previously attended the King Foundation’s celebratory dinner at Highgrove House, the king’s family residence, with Victoria, 51, in February.

In May, the outlet reported that Brooklyn and Peltz attended a group dinner held at the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s home. The outlet shared that they were not directly invited by Meghan and Harry.

“Brooklyn and Nicola were invited prior to David [Beckham’s] numerous global birthday galas, so the timing is pure coincidence,” a source told the outlet.

“While it was an intimate gathering, there were several additional guests, including VIPs and film executives. Brooklyn and Nicola had a wonderful time and found Harry and Meghan to be particularly kind, caring and generous.”

At the time, Fox News Digital reached out to Archewell, which handles the offices of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, as well as the Beckhams, for comment. The Sun was the first to report on the swanky supper.

According to The Sun, Harry is “fully aware” of Brooklyn’s “situation” with his parents and offers his unwavering support as someone who has been through “similar” rifts. The outlet reported that the couple were said to be “very empathetic and very kind” to Brooklyn and Peltz. Meghan and Peltz, in particular, reportedly found “common ground.”
