Brad Lander arrested by ICE agents following alleged assault on federal officer
New York City Comptroller Brad Lander was arrested by Department of Homeland Security (DHS) agents on Tuesday after allegedly assaulting a federal officer.
It has yet to be confirmed if Lander is facing charges.
“Our heroic ICE law enforcement officers face a 413% increase in assaults against them—it is wrong that politicians seeking higher office undermine law enforcement safety to get a viral moment,” a DHS spokesperson said. “No one is above the law, and if you lay a hand on a law enforcement officer, you will face consequences.”
BLUE CITY MAYOR VOWS ‘NO TOLERANCE’ FOR ANTI-ICE VIOLENCE AS LA RIOTS ERUPT: ‘UNACCEPTABLE’
Video footage of the arrest appeared to show Lander hanging onto Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents as they escorted a defendant out of immigration court at 26 Federal Plaza, repeatedly asking officials if they had a judicial warrant.
“I will let go when you show me the judicial warrant,” Lander said in the video. “Where is it. Where is the warrant.”
New York Civil Liberties Union Executive Director Donna Lieberman said the arrest, which she claimed was motivated by Lander “asking questions,” was an abuse of power and a threat to democracy.
“Arresting a public official, the duly-elected comptroller of the City of New York, for asking questions is dangerous intimidation and shows a wanton disregard for the will of the people of New York,” Lieberman wrote in a statement. “It sends an unmistakably authoritarian message – that ICE doesn’t care about the rule of law and that anyone exercising their right to challenge ICE and speak up for immigrants will be punished. All elected officials and candidates for office should condemn this arrest in the strongest terms and stand up for New Yorkers.”
ALINA HABBA DROPS FEDERAL TRESPASSING CHARGE AGAINST DEM MAYOR, OFFERS ICE FACILITY TOUR: ‘NOTHING TO HIDE’
New York Attorney General Letitia James described Lander’s actions as “standing up for immigrants.”
“This is profoundly unacceptable,” James wrote in a statement. “Arresting Comptroller Lander for the simple act of standing up for immigrants and their civil rights is a shocking abuse of power. No one should face fear and intimidation in a courthouse, and this is a grotesque escalation of tensions. The administration’s rampant targeting of New Yorkers only makes our communities less safe.”
Other public officials took to social media to react to the high-profile arrest.
“This is the latest example of the extreme thuggery of Trump’s ICE out of control — one can only imagine the fear families across our country feel when confronted with ICE,” former New York Governor and NYC mayoral candidate Andrew Cuomo wrote on X. “Fear of separation, fear of being taken from their schools, fear of being detained without just cause. This is not who we are. This must stop, and it must stop now.”
FEDERAL OFFICIALS SLAM DEMOCRATS FOR ‘DANGEROUS’ RHETORIC AS ICE AGENTS FACE VIOLENT MOBS IN LA, NYC
Mayoral candidates Scott Stringer and Zohran Kwame Mamdani called for Lander to be released “immediately.”
“The recent politicization of federal immigration authorities under the Trump administration is disturbing and shameful,” Stringer wrote. “I call for Brad to be released immediately. I hope to see him out on the campaign trail soon.”
“This is fascism and all New Yorkers must speak in one voice,” Mamdani added. “Release him now.”

Schwarzenegger faces pushback on ‘The View’ over immigrant ‘responsibility’ remarks
Former California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger touted the “responsibility” immigrants have when they come to America during an interview Tuesday on “The View,” encouraging them to do things legally and behave like guests in the U.S.
“I just think the world of the great history that we have with immigrants in America, but the key thing also is at the same time, that we’ve got to do things legal,” he said. “That is the most important thing. You’ve got to do things legal, and those people that are doing illegal things in America, and they’re the foreigners, they are not smart, because, when you come to America, you’re a guest, and you have to behave like a guest, like when I go to someone’s house, and I’m a guest, then I will do everything I can, keep things clean and to make my bed and to do everything that is the right thing to do rather than committing a crime, or being abusive or something like that, so that doesn’t really work in this country,” Schwarzenegger said.
Schwarzenegger was pressed by the hosts on ICE’s presence in Los Angeles and on whether the National Guard would have been deployed if he was governor.
“You have a responsibility as an immigrant to give back to America and to pay back to America and go and do something for your community for no money whatsoever. Give something back to after-school programs, Special Olympics, or whatever it is, make this a better place,” the former California governor said.
‘THE VIEW’ CO-HOST WARNS CAST MATES NOT TO DEMONIZE ICE AND MILITARY PERSONNEL OVER LA RIOTS
The hosts pushed back on Schwarzenegger as Whoopi Goldberg insisted “90% of the people who come here are trying to do the right thing.”
“Immigrants are less likely to commit crimes in this country than actual American-born citizens,” co-host Sunny Hostin told Schwarzenegger.
Schwarzenegger also called for immigration reform during the discussion and said both Democrats and Republicans needed to work together to pass it.
“All of this is happening because we don’t have immigration reform,” he said. “Democrats and Republicans have to come together and solve this issue if they really want to be public servants. If they want to be party servants, and be party hacks, and be tied to their ideology, then it won’t happen.”

Schwarzenegger has spoken out about the L.A. riots and said the media was making it out to be a “war zone.”
He told late-night host Jimmy Kimmel last week that he agreed with his recent take on the current state of L.A., in which Kimmel mocked the media for portraying the anti-ICE protests as “some kind of totalitarian hellscape” and condemned the Trump administration for deporting “people who have lived here their whole lives.”
“I totally agree with you, by the way, Jimmy, because they make it out like it is a war zone — the whole Los Angeles — the whole city or the county,” he argued. “The fact of the matter is it’s maybe like 0.001% of the area of Los Angeles has problems and there’s a protest.”

“Democrats and the Republicans — both of the parties — have no interest in solving this problem [comprehensive immigration reform] because they use that to raise money,” Schwarzenegger told Kimmel. “So what they do is they just keep pointing the finger at each other, and then they’re surprised if all of a sudden we are using our middle finger on them.”
Meloni caught giving ‘eye roll of the century’ during high-stakes G7 meeting
Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni was spotted whispering with French President Emmanuel Macron before rolling her eyes at a G7 roundtable meeting Monday, ahead of President Donald Trump’s abrupt departure from the summit.
Leaders from the U.S., Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the European Union and the United Kingdom poured into a meeting room Monday morning as the G7 summit held in a remote ski town in Alberta, Canada, kicked off in earnest with the gaggle of global economic powers.
France’s Macron was seen whispering to Meloni’s ear as a camera panned around the meeting room when the world officials found their respective seats.
Meloni leaned toward Macron as the French president made a fist over his mouth and whispered in Meloni’s ear. Italy’s prime minister looked Macron in the eyes before delivering an elaborate eye roll — a moment that has since spread on social media.
TRUMP, RUBIO CUTTING G7 TRIP SHORT, RETURNING TO DC AS CHATTER INDICATES IRANIANS FLEEING TEHRAN
It is unclear what the pair were discussing or why Meloni would roll her eyes, with commenters sounding off on social media about their views on the scene.
“Georgia Meloni ROLLS HER EYES at France’s President Emmanuel Macron. The G7 is off to such a good start,” one social media account posted, accompanied by footage of the eye roll. “Meloni is awesome, she can’t hide her distain for the globalist elite.”
CARNEY CUTS SHORT QUESTIONS TO TRUMP AHEAD OF G7 SUMMIT
“Meloni with the eye roll of the century,” Sky News host Rita Panahi posted to X. “She’s torn Macron apart in previous speeches so this isn’t a shock.”
Fox News Digital reached out to the offices of both Meloni and Macron for comment and did not receive replies.
Meloni previously has been caught on camera dramatically rolling her eyes, including in 2024, when then-President Joe Biden and NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg were running late for a NATO meeting and Meloni was spotted checking an imaginary watch on her wrist before rolling her eyes to other world leaders, the New York Post reported at the time.
Trump slammed Macron on Truth Social later Monday, after he abruptly left the summit to return to Washington, D.C., amid heightened conflict between Israel and Iran.
G7 SUMMIT OPENS IN CANADA, WITH LEADERS TO ADDRESS TRADE, WARS WHILE HOPING TO AVOID CLASH WITH TRUMP
“Publicity seeking President Emmanuel Macron, of France, mistakenly said that I left the G7 Summit, in Canada, to go back to D.C. to work on a “cease fire” between Israel and Iran. Wrong!” Trump posted to Truth Social. “He has no idea why I am now on my way to Washington, but it certainly has nothing to do with a Cease Fire. Much bigger than that. Whether purposely or not, Emmanuel always gets it wrong. Stay Tuned!”
Trump abruptly departed the G7 Monday and returned to Washington as the conflict between Israel and Iran intensified.
“I have to be back,” Trump said during a ceremonial photo-op with the other world leaders present at the G7 summit on Monday. “You probably see what I see. And I have to be back as soon as I can.”
Trump added in a Truth Social post Monday evening that the residents in Iran’s capital city should evacuate immediately.
“Simply stated, IRAN CAN NOT HAVE A NUCLEAR WEAPON. I said it over and over again! Everyone should immediately evacuate Tehran!”
ISRAEL-IRAN WAR PROMPTS TRUMP TO LEAVE G7 SUMMIT EARLY
Meloni’s eye roll in Canada followed another viral moment at the G7, when Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney cut off media questions to Trump amid a bilateral meeting. Trump answered a bevy of questions from the media regarding the summit, Israel’s strikes on Iran the week prior, as well as the president underscoring that Russia was previously a member of the informal forum of world leaders and that war would likely not have broken out if the nation was still a member.
After Trump fielded a question regarding his administration’s plans to execute more immigration raids in sanctuary cities, Carney cut off additional questions.
TRUMP SAYS HE HAS TO ‘BE BACK’ AMID DEPARTURE FROM G7 SUMMIT
“Biden allowed 21 million people to come into our country,” Trump said. “The vast numbers of those people and murderers, killers, people from gangs, people from jails, they emptied their jails out into the U.S. Most of those people are in the cities, all blue cities, all Democrat-run cities, and they think they’re going to use them to vote. It’s not going to happen.”
Carney then cut the questions after Trump was seen giving him an approving nod.

“If you don’t mind,” Carney said, “I’m going to exercise my role if you will as G7 chair, since we have a few more minutes with the president and his team, and then we actually have to start the meeting to address some of the big issues. So thank you.”
Retired general identifies an opportunity to take Iran ‘off the table’
On the fifth day of Israel and Iran exchanging strikes, the conflict appears to be on the brink of further escalation as Israel targets Iran’s nuclear infrastructure and questions mount over possible U.S. involvement.
Retired four-star Gen. Jack Keane believes that there is an opportunity for the Iranian regime to “be taken off the table,” telling “Mornings with Maria” host Maria Bartiromo that he thinks the move “is the right thing to do.”
The Fox News senior strategic analyst commented on President Donald Trump’s support for Israel in the conflict while maintaining his stance that Iran cannot have nuclear weapons.
ISRAEL’S WAR WITH IRAN IS A GLOBAL FLASHPOINT. AMERICA MUST LEAD BEFORE IT SPREADS
“He is supporting Israel 100% to complete the campaign that they started here,” Keane said. “That campaign focuses on Iran’s center of gravity, their nuclear enterprise, and they want to destroy that enterprise as much as they possibly can, decapitate the leadership… And they’re doing a remarkable job in doing that, and also eliminate their ballistic missiles — which is their major weapon that they’re using against the Israelis.”
He added that Israel is “making significant progress in all three of these areas.”
Trump, on Monday, departed early from the G7 summit and called for his team to be assembled in the situation room. The president also took to Truth Social, stressing that Iran cannot have nuclear weapons and warning that everyone should evacuate Tehran “immediately.”
Keane touched on Israel’s progress in Operation Rising Lion — noting their “significant imagination and significant covert capability” to disrupt Iran’s nuclear capability, leadership and military assets — but also pointed out the challenge of taking out their underground nuclear sites.
“I think what is in the offing here is Israel knows full well, even though they have significant imagination and significant covert capability, they know that there’s a couple of deeply buried sites that are very challenging for them to get to with air power and… I’m assuming they would like the United States to assist them in achieving that end state.”
“After all, the president did say he’s not going to permit Iran to have a nuclear weapon,” Keane continued.
He warned if the nuclear sites are left intact, the Iranian supreme leader “will be able to achieve what he’s always wanted.”
“The reason why he [the ayatollah] never voluntarily dismantled the program through negotiations is because he was willing to accept the airstrike, believing that he could still recover some aspect of his nuclear enterprise after the air strikes are completed, and he would be able to rebuild that nuclear program.”
Keane further stressed that that must not happen and explained the role the United States could play in ensuring it doesn’t through “a limited but focused air campaign” with bombs that could penetrate the inaccessible facilities to end Iran’s nuclear goals.
“Think of what it does. [It] takes off the table the thought of a nuclear arms race in the Middle East. It reduces Iran as a major power broker in the region,” he said.

Mom outraged over driver’s sentence in 100-mph crash that killed son
A Michigan mother is heartbroken again after the teenager who killed her son in a 2023 car crash was spared prison time during his sentencing last week.
Grosse Pointe police initially responded to the single-vehicle crash on Nov. 17, 2023, and located the defendant, Kiernan Tague, belted into the driver’s seat, and the 18-year-old victim, Flynn MacKrell, unresponsive and belted into the passenger seat.
Prosecutors accused Tague of driving about 100 mph in a 25-mph zone around 9 p.m. when he crashed the vehicle into a telephone pole.
The defendant was initially charged with second-degree murder but later pleaded guilty to manslaughter with a motor vehicle with an adult designation in February 2025 and was given a “blended sentence” last week due to his age at the time of the crash: 16.
TEEN ILLEGAL IMMIGRANT WHO KILLED WOMAN IN COLORADO CRASH GETS PROBATION, THEN IS ARRESTED BY ICE WITH FAMILY
Tague, now 18, was sentenced to serve probation at a Level two placement facility, as FOX 2 Detroit reported. Fox News Digital reached out to Tague’s attorney for comment.
“The evidence in this case will show that the defendant was driving in a residential neighborhood at speeds that rival speeding on Michigan freeways,” Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy said in a June 13 statement. “Sadly, Mr. MacKrell lost his life as a result. We know that the rules of the road exist for a reason, speed kills. Driving 25 in a residential neighborhood is mandated, not a mere suggestion.”

MacKrell’s mother, Anne Vanker, of Grosse Pointe, expressed her disappointment with the sentencing results in a June 13 Facebook post.
MALIBU MAN TO STAND TRIAL FOR MURDER IN HIGH-SPEED CRASH THAT LEFT 4 PEPPERDINE STUDENTS DEAD
“Today, instead of being held accountable, Kiernan Tague was once again shielded from facing the full consequences of his violent and criminal actions. He killed my son, Flynn MacKrell, through repeated reckless and destructive behavior, and yet, even after 18 months, the justice system has failed to hold him fully responsible,” Vanker wrote.
“This is not justice.”
Vanker added that “[d]espite clear recommendations from two pre-sentencing reports calling for adult sentencing, overwhelming evidence, and the applicable Michigan Court Rules that allow the court to consider the full scope of Kiernan’s behavior, the court chose leniency over accountability.”
“This decision results in a continued injustice for Flynn, our family, and every community that expects real consequences for fatal, preventable actions,” Vanker said, adding that her family “will never stop fighting for Flynn” and “will continue to advocate for stronger laws.”
TEENS’ NIGHT OF ROCK THROWING LEADS TO MURDER CONVICTION FOR MAN, NOW 20
“My son, my Flynn, was my life, my heart. No words can capture the silence, the rage, and the sorrow that fill every corner of my world. This statement cannot express the hell I live every day since Flynn’s death, but Flynn’s voice was stolen, now mine must speak for him.”
She also read a victim impact statement in court last week during the sentencing hearing. In her statement, Vanker remembered her son, who had just started studying at the University of Dayton before the crash, as “a cherished child of God” and “a true gift.”
She also described Tague’s “escalating violent behavior” and “willful disregard for his mother’s authority, the law, and basic human life.” Vanker added that Tague has never acknowledged “the gravity of the crime” and has never expressed “remorse” for Flynn’s death.
“Kiernan Tague has been involved in 20 police incidents since 2018. Most of these police interactions were triggered by Kiernan’s mother calling 911 because of his uncontrollable outbursts,” she wrote.
Tague’s driving history in the months before the crash included hitting speeds of 102 mph, 127 mph, 143 mph, 150 mph and 155 mph, the Detroit Free Press reported, citing police reports, cellphone exchanges and Life360 records.
Vanker also noted that Tague’s family used the Life 360 app to keep tabs on their son’s location, as many parents do, and a search warrant for data from the app showed Tague’s reckless driving tendencies. Police reports, Life360 records and other documents showed

“From November 1 to November 17, Kiernan made 94 trips in his car,” Vanker wrote. “Of those 94 trips, 10% were over 120 [mph], 18% were over 110 [mph], 26% were over 100 [mph], and 45% were over 90 [mph]. The top speed was recorded on November 1, 2023, when Kiernan Tague traveled at or above 153.7 mph for 20.5 miles.”
Tague also spoke at his sentencing and at times became choked up when talking about Flynn, whom he described as his best friend, according to FOX 2.
“My heart is profoundly heavy with grief, regret and remorse,” Tague said on June 13, as FOX 2 reported. “What pains me most is that I know that any pain that I’ve experienced is nothing compared to what Flynn’s loved ones, especially his parents, sister, brother, and family have experienced.”
US warns travelers of ‘violent crime,’ weak policing in popular vacation hot spot
Officials are warning Americans to “exercise increased caution” when traveling to a popular summer tourist destination in light of violent crime rates and a lack of law enforcement resources throughout the country.
The United States Department of State has issued an updated travel advisory for the Dominican Republic, according to the agency’s website.
“Violent crime is a concern in the Dominican Republic despite more police presence in areas often visited by tourists,” the department said in a statement. “Do not display wealth and be wary of meeting individuals from online in secluded locations.”
US RENEWS TRAVEL ADVISORY TO POPULAR DESTINATION AMID ‘TERRORISM FEARS’: ‘EXERCISE INCREASED CAUTION’
The warning, which previously listed the Caribbean vacation destination as a Level 2 advisory, was posted on June 12 following a periodic update, according to a State Department spokesperson.
Countries are assigned advisories from Level 1-4 based on the area’s risk factors, such as civil unrest and natural disasters.
A Level 2 advisory is considered mid-level and advises travelers to “exercise increased caution” while traveling abroad, according to the State Department. A Level 3 advisory cautions visitors to “reconsider travel,” while a Level 4 advises against traveling altogether.
The warning also noted that “criminals are rarely caught and prosecuted,” with instances of robbery, homicide and sexual assault prevalent throughout the country.

“The wide availability of weapons, the use of drugs, and the developing criminal justice system all contribute to the high level of criminality in the country,” the OSAC previously said in a December 2024 security report, adding that “a lack of law enforcement resources, poorly paid and trained police officers, and corruption exacerbate the situation.”
Second eyewitness emerges in Idaho murder case against Bryan Kohberger
A surprise second eyewitness has emerged in the Idaho student murders case and could testify against Bryan Kohberger at trial later this year.
A woman claiming to be the Idaho DoorDash driver who dropped off food to victim Xana Kernodle minutes before a home invasion stabbing spree killed her, her boyfriend, and two roommates, has emerged as an unexpected eyewitness to testify at Kohberger’s upcoming murder trial, and she told police she saw him at the scene.
The purported driver revealed herself in a police bodycam video from an alleged DUI stop taken in September 2024 and posted weeks later to the YouTube account, Officer Axon, which publishes law enforcement videos obtained through public records requests.
KEY FIGURES BROM BRYAN KOHBERGER’S PENNSYLVANIA YOUTH SUMMONED TO IDAHO FOR STUDENT MURDERS TRIAL
Web sleuths picked up on it, and her connection to the Kohberger case was reported in the Idaho Statesman Tuesday.
“I have to testify in a big murder case here… because I’m the DoorDash driver, so yeah,” she says in the video.
An officer asks which case.
“The murder case with the college girls,” she says. “I’m the DoorDash driver. I saw Bryan there. I parked right next to him.”
She is not named in redacted court documents and may suffer from credibility issues after police in Pullman, Washington, accused her of driving while high on drugs.

The attack also killed Ethan Chapin, who was Kernodle’s 20-year-old boyfriend, and two 21-year-old roommates, Madison Mogen and Kaylee Goncalves.
All four were University of Idaho students, and all four suffered multiple stab wounds from a large knife, according to authorities.
Police found a Ka-Bar sheath under Mogen’s body that prosecutors allege has Kohberger’s DNA on it. Police allege they linked a suspect vehicle and Kohberger’s phone pings to the scene as well.

Minn officials label murders ‘political’ as questions remain about suspect’s politics
Gov. Tim Walz, D-Minn., condemned the assassination of former Minnesota House Speaker Melissa Hortman and her husband as politically motivated, but questions remain about the suspect’s political preferences.
The Minnesota governor immediately denounced what he said “appears to be a politically motivated assassination,” following the attacks Saturday morning.
Vance Luther Boelter, 57, is accused of killing Hortman and her husband, Mark, and shooting state Sen. John Hoffman and his wife, Yvette, in separate incidents early Saturday morning.
Lawmakers from Minnesota and across the United States have since joined Walz in condemning the violent attacks. Politicians and authorities have been clear that Saturday’s attack was politically motivated, but they have been less clear about the suspect’s political preferences.
MINNESOTA LAWMAKER SHOOTING SUSPECT HAD CACHE OF WEAPONS, HIT LIST IN VEHICLE, COURT DOCUMENTS SHOW
U.S. Attorney Joseph H. Thompson said Monday that Boelter’s primary motive was “to go out and murder people,” as authorities announced the suspect’s apprehension on Monday after a two-day manhunt.
“Now, they were all elected officials,” Thompson said. “They were all Democrats. Beyond that, I think it’s just way too speculative for anyone that has reviewed these materials to know and to say what was motivating him in terms of ideology or specific issues.”
MINN. GOV THANKS LAW ENFORCEMENT FOR BRINGING HOUSE SPEAKER’S ALLEGED KILLER TO JUSTICE AFTER TWO-DAY MANHUNT
Boelter, 57, was hit with federal charges after officials captured him in Sibley County on Sunday night. He is being charged with two counts of stalking, two counts of murder and two counts of firearm-related crimes in federal court. Boelter is also facing second-degree murder charges, filed in Hennepin County.
“Political violence has no place in this country,” Alvin M. Winston, FBI Minneapolis Special Agent, said during a press conference on Monday.
While Thompson said it was too early to identify specific political motivation, he was clear in saying, “This was a political assassination.”
“It’s only the most recent example of violent political extremism in this country,” Thompson added, in light of two assassination attempts on President Donald Trump last year, the attack on former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s husband at their home in San Francisco in 2022 and the shooting of House Majority Leader Steve Scalise, R-La., at the congressional baseball game in 2017, to name a few.
Records reveal Boelter registered to vote as a Republican while living in Oklahoma in 2004 before moving to Minnesota, where voters don’t list party affiliation.
Boelter was previously appointed to Minnesota’s Workforce Development Board by two governors, according to Fox 9.
The suspect was reportedly appointed by Gov. Mark Dayton, a Democrat, in 2016, and then re-appointed by Walz in 2019 as a private sector representative to the council. He previously served on the same board as Hoffman before his term expired in 2023.
Friends and former colleagues interviewed by The Associated Press described Boelter as a devout Christian who attended an evangelical church and attended Trump rallies.
Paul Shroeder, who has known Boelter for years, told AP, “He was right-leaning politically but never fanatical, from what I saw, just strong beliefs,” and added, “It seemed to be just that he was a conservative Republican who naturally followed Trump.”
A Fox News search found no results for individual contributions to federally registered political committees.
According to Boelter’s LinkedIn page, he has a purported extensive security background, including as CEO of Red Lion Group based in the Democratic Republic of Congo. He is also listed as the director of Praetorian Guard Security Services, a security firm his wife reportedly filed to create, according to the company’s website.
Several AK-style firearms were recovered from Boelter’s vehicle during the investigation, along with a pile of “No Kings” flyers, reflecting anti-Trump administration protests that erupted across the country this weekend.
Walz had planned to speak at a “No Kings” rally in St. Paul on Saturday before the assassination.
Authorities also found a manifesto that listed the names and addresses of other public officials. About 70 names were found in the manifesto, according to two law enforcement officials who spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity. Officials said the list also included the names of pro-abortion politicians, abortion rights advocates and information about health care facilities.
“There were some abortion-rights supporters, I believe, on the list. But again, there was dozens and dozens and dozens of names on, you know, hundreds of pages of documents that were recovered with his writings on them,” Thompson said.
Boelter’s roommate told The New York Post that he had conservative political views but rarely talked about politics and didn’t seem overtly political.
“He was a Trump supporter. He voted for Trump. He liked Trump. I like Trump,” his lifelong friend David Carlson said. “He didn’t like abortion.”
Carlson told The New York Times that Bolter had been experiencing financial and mental health challenges, and told the publication that he “just gave up on life for some reason.”
According to The Wall Street Journal, Carlson woke up on Saturday to a text from Boelter that he was “going to be gone for a while” and “may be dead shortly.”
“I thought he was going to do self-harm,” Carlson said. “I didn’t think he was going to do anything like this.”

Walz continued to denounce the violence during a press conference Monday.
“A moment in this country where we watched violence erupt. This cannot be the norm. It cannot be the way that we deal with our political differences.”
And Walz added in a statement that we “cannot become numb to this violence,” adding we are a “deeply divided nation.”
Walz’s office and the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Minnesota did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital inquiry.
Ilhan Omar criticizes Trump’s military parade, calls US one of ‘worst countries’
Far-left Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., said last week that the United States is becoming one of the “worst countries” in the world.
“I mean, I grew up in a dictatorship and I don’t even remember ever witnessing anything like that to have a democracy, a beacon of hope for the world to now be turned into one of the, you know, one of the worst countries, where the military are in our streets without any regard for people’s constitutional rights,” Omar said in an interview published Friday on Democracy Now!’s YouTube page.
Omar, who was born in Somalia, referenced President Donald Trump’s military parade on Saturday that commemorated the 250th anniversary of the U.S. Army.
FLASHBACK: DEMOCRAT REP ILHAN OMAR SAID US SHOULD BE ‘MORE FEARFUL OF WHITE MEN’ IN 2018
The parade also fell on Flag Day and Trump’s 79th birthday and was meant to honor America. Omar, whose interview took place before the parade, was unimpressed.
“Our president is spending millions of dollars [propping] himself up like a failed dictator with a military parade,” Omar said of the then-upcoming parade.
“It is really shocking, and it should be a wake-up call for all Americans to say this is not the country we were born in,” she added. “This is not the country we believe in, this is not the country our Founding Fathers imagined, and this is not the country that is supported by our Constitution, our ideals, our values, and we should all collectively be out in the streets rejecting what is taking place this week.”
The Squad member also said that Trump is “destroying our country.”
ILHAN OMAR SNAPS AT CONSERVATIVE REPORTER TO ‘F— OFF’ FOR ASKING QUESTIONS OUTSIDE CAPITOL
“I think the person who is in the process of destroying our country should look in the mirror and that’s Trump,” Omar said. “And notice that he is the one that has hatred for the values that we have here in America and everything that we have built. The reality is protest, dissent, is constitutionally protected that is everybody’s First Amendment right in this country.”
Some have called out the Minnesota Democrat. Fox News contributor Guy Benson shared a clip from the interview on X in a Tuesday post and said, “The hyperbole here is appalling, made worse by her astounding ingratitude.”
“[I]f people are seriously offended by a parade for the first time in decades, then go outside and touch some grass,” OutKick’s David Hookstead wrote. “We have the greatest military on the planet, and we shouldn’t ever apologize for it. After all, our men died to try to protect innocent lives in Somalia. I guess that sacrifice just doesn’t matter to Congresswoman Omar.”
