Massive turbine blade crashes into traffic after breaking loose on interstate
One person is reported injured after a wind turbine blade broke loose from a truck and crashed into traffic on Interstate 70 in Maryland.
It happened early Monday morning in Washington County, the Maryland State Highway Administration (SHA) confirmed to Fox News Digital.
“At approximately 5:30 a.m., a tractor trailer traveling westbound on I-70 was pulling a wind turbine blade that struck the guardrail causing the blade to go partially into the eastbound lanes,” a statement said. “The blade was then clipped by a tractor trailer traveling eastbound.”
The crash resulted in the closure of all westbound lanes of I-70 at I-81 and two lanes in the eastbound direction, the Maryland SHA said on X.

All lanes were reopened by 8:28 a.m., a subsequent post said.
The scene, captured by a Maryland Department of Transportation camera, showed the blade in the middle of the interstate while impacting traffic on both sides.

“Heavy tow crews were able to back the truck up after the guardrail was cut out and get the trailer back onto the westbound lanes. The entire unit was then driven up to I-70 west of Md. Rt. 63 and parked on the wide shoulder,” SHA’s statement said.

Karoline Leavitt slams CNN for ‘incitement of further violence’ with ICEBlock segment
White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt suggested on Monday that CNN was guilty of inciting and “encouraging violence” for its reporting on ICEBlock, a new app that tracks and alerts users to the whereabouts of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers.
Daily Wire reporter Mary Margaret Olohan asked Leavitt to respond to the CNN report, considering there has been a 500% increase in assaults against ICE agents, according to recent DHS reports. Leavitt said she would need to see the segment herself but condemned CNN for airing it nevertheless.
“Surely, it sounds like this would be an incitement of further violence against our ICE officers,” Leavitt said. “As you know, as you stated, there’s been a 500% increase in violence against ICE agents, law enforcement officers across the country who are just simply trying to do their jobs and remove public safety threats from our communities.”
WHITE HOUSE CALLS CNN ‘FAKE NEWS’ FOR REPORT CLAIMING DEMOCRATIC LEADERSHIP WASN’T BRIEFED ON IRAN STRIKE
She continued, “And that’s something we as Americans, including journalists at CNN, who live in many of these cities where illegal aliens are hiding and were let in from the previous administration, should be very grateful for. So we haven’t seen the clip. We’ll take a look at it, but certainly it’s unacceptable that a major network would promote such an app that is encouraging violence against law enforcement officers who are trying to keep our country safe.”
A CNN spokesperson defended the network’s reporting.
“CNN reported on a publicly available app, which is generating attention across the United States, and reached out to ICE for comment prior to publication. After CNN published its reporting, ICE posted a response, which is now included in the story,” the spokesperson told Fox News Digital.
The response reported by CNN came from ICE Acting Director Todd Lyons, who said ICEBlock “basically paints a target on federal law enforcement officers’ backs” and that “officers and agents are already facing a 500% increase in assaults.”
The CNN reported on and aired segments on their channel featuring an interview with the app’s creator, Joshua Aaron, who said he was inspired to create ICEBlock as a way to fight back against deportation efforts which he claimed were reminiscent of Nazi Germany.
WHITE HOUSE, KAROLINE LEAVITT CALL OUT ACTRESS SELENA GOMEZ FOR CLIP OF HER CRYING OVER TRUMP DEPORTATIONS
“We’re literally watching history repeat itself,” Aaron said.
He admitted that there is no way to verify every report but promoted “safeguards” to prevent users from “spamming” the app, such as deleting sightings every four hours, limiting reports to a five-mile radius and restricting report sightings to one every five minutes. Users on the app are anonymous.
Aaron added that the app contains a warning to not interact with law enforcement since his goal is not to incite violence.
“Please note that the use of this app is for information and notification purposes only. It is not to be used for the purposes of inciting violence or interfering with law enforcement,” the warning read.

Soccer legend Abby Wambach admits Trump administration ‘geniuses’ at one thing
U.S. women’s soccer legend Abby Wambach admitted in a recent podcast interview that President Donald Trump and his administration are “geniuses” in at least one thing.
Wambach, along with author Glennon Doyle, opened up about what she called a “complicated” relationship with the U.S. and lamented that Trump and his officials were able to get their voters to rally and elect him as president once again in 2024.

She spoke to MSNBC’s Nicolle Wallace on her “Best People” podcast.
“I think about it from a team perspective, because I have so much experience being in a community of a team,” Wambach explained. “And being a person who represented this country, and I consider myself very patriotic in many ways, and yet my relationship with my country is very complicated because of all the things that go on inside our administration, the things that we are seeing.
“But I do believe that one of the things that Trump and the administration are geniuses at is getting people to believe they are a part of this community. This community piece, allows people to not pay attention to every little thing. They’re stoking them in a way that keeps them believing that they are part of something that is good even if there are some consequences that are happening in order to get to this. Like it is like the ends justifies the means in some way.”
Wambach said that when someone is trying to develop so-called “team culture,” what Trump and his administration have done in that development is a “very smart way to do it.”
JESSE MARSCH ON CANADA’S EARLY GOLD CUP EXIT: ‘WE’RE MISSING HALF OF OUR GROUP’
However, Wambach believes some Trump supporters are having second thoughts.
“I think that you are seeing some folks going, ‘Wait a second I didn’t sign up for all of this,’ and that is laughable to me because he wasn’t hiding the playbook. They just didn’t believe, I think part of them probably felt like, ‘Oh the playbook is just like that is just never going to happen, right like that is too far down that is never going to happen. Let’s just get him in office he is a good businessman.’ I also think there is probably a sector of people that are like, ‘Yeah we want all of this stuff to happen.’
“There is, I think there is a smaller version, but I do think some of the folks that voted for him are probably questioning their vote and also embarrassed to go back on it. It is once you get entrenched in that community, it’s like if you get out where do you go, it is almost like there is no place for folks who actually want to jump ship to land because they can’t see themselves in all of our world.”
Trump touted his poll numbers earlier this month, saying his approval rating was “the highest it’s ever been.”

Economists sound alarms over Mamdani plan for city-owned grocery stores
Economists and business leaders are sounding alarms over New York City mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani’s plan to roll out city-owned grocery stores that he says will lower food costs.
“You don’t lower grocery bills by having government-run stores,” Ryan Bourne, a top economist at the libertarian leaning Cato Institute think tank, told Fox Business. “Government-run entities have no market discipline — no need to earn profits, compete, or serve customers efficiently. That leads to bloated costs, empty shelves, and zero accountability.”
Bourne called Mamdani’s city-run grocery stores “the height of political hubris” by failing to acknowledge that grocers operate in competitive arenas and on razor-thin profit margins.
EJ ANTONI WARNS NYC OF MAMDANI’S ‘ECONOMICALLY ILLITERATE’ POLICIES
“If we just do the simple math here, there’s no way you can sell these products at lower prices and still make money,” said E.J. Antoni, chief economist at the conservative leaning Heritage Foundation think tank.
“The other problem is that if he (Mamdani) is selling things substantially less than the private market, who is going to want to go to the private market? Everyone is going to want to go to these grocery stores,” Antoni told Fox Business, adding that the city-run grocery stores have the potential to exacerbate food shortages in New York City.
Mamdani, the underdog winner of Tuesday’s Democratic mayoral primary, has placed affordability at the forefront of his campaign to helm America’s largest city.
The 33-year-old says the public grocery stores will be exempt from paying rent or property taxes, a move aimed at lowering overhead costs. Other efforts to pass on savings to shoppers include buying at wholesale prices, partnerships with local farms on product sourcing and centralizing warehouses and supply chain distribution.
WASHINGTON POST BASHES SOCIALIST ZOHRAN MAMDANI AS POTENTIAL DISASTER FOR NEW YORK CITY
The socialist upstart says it will cost a total of $60 million to launch one grocery store in each of New York City’s five boroughs. Mamdani has previously said he will redirect some of the $140 million in private grocery store tax breaks to finance the pilot program.
“If the government is going to make it impossible for the private market to compete, then the private market will stop competing. If you make it unprofitable for a grocer to do business in Manhattan, then people like John Catsimatidis are going to pull the plug,” Antoni said, referencing the billionaire supermarket magnate.
In an interview with Fox Business, Catsimatidis said retail food was the toughest company in his Red Apple Group portfolio, which also includes real estate, energy and insurance assets.
“If the city of New York is going socialist, I will definitely close, or sell, or move or franchise the Gristedes locations,” he said. Catsimatidis, a high-profile political donor in conservative circles, operates more than 15 Gristedes and nearly a dozen D’Agostino grocery stores in Manhattan.
“It’s going to hurt New York,” Catsimatidis said of Mamdani’s economic agenda should he win the November general election. He added that he is considering moving his corporate offices to New Jersey if that happens.
BILLIONAIRE CEO WARNS HE’LL CLOSE GROCERY STORES IN NEW YORK IF ZOHRAN MAMDANI ELECTED MAYOR
What’s more, Wall Street executives have emerged as some of the loudest critics of Mamdani’s economic agenda, which also includes free buses and rent freezes for residents in rent-stabilized units.
Billionaire hedge fund manager Bill Ackman pledged to finance an alternative candidate to Mamdani, should one emerge. He also warned that Mamdani’s financial plan would “destroy jobs and cause businesses and wealthy taxpayers” to leave New York.
“Socialism has no place in the economic capital of our country,” the Pershing Square chief wrote in a post on X.
“We have two choices, which is to support Mamdani and try to get on his good side, or try to see if we can resurrect Eric,” Jeff Gural, chair of GFP Real Estate, told Bloomberg, referring to New York City’s current mayor.
Gural, who has donated to Andrew Cuomo’s PAC, added that he would “certainly” prefer Adams over Mamdani.
Dan Loeb, the hedge fund founder of Third Point, wrote following Mamdani’s win on X that it was “officially hot commie summer.” Loeb has previously donated to super PACs supporting Adams and Cuomo.
CITY-RUN GROCERY STORES, DEFUNDING POLICE: WHAT TO KNOW ABOUT NYC’S NEXT POTENTIAL MAYOR
“As the weeks go on, Mamdani’s going to be ripped to pieces,” FOX Business’ Larry Kudlow said Friday.
“Before it’s over, a lot of the younger people will realize that he will financially bankrupt us, and they’ll lose their jobs, and I think he’ll lose them too,” added Kudlow, who served as White House economic advisor during President Donald Trump’s first year.
The three-term assembly member says the city-run grocery stores will not only address rising food prices, but food deserts.
Mamdani, whose district includes the Queensbridge Houses, the largest public housing project in North America, says residents there have called for low-cost grocery options.
“What I hear from so many of my constituents there is, ‘Why is it that there are five or six fast food restaurants in a five-block radius, but I can’t find anywhere where I can actually afford to buy groceries?’” he said in an interview with Bon Appétit.
“What this network of municipally-owned grocery stores would provide is a guarantee of cheaper groceries and a recognition that food is a non-negotiable for New Yorkers,” he added.

Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson proposed opening a city-run grocery store in 2023 to deal with food insecurity in the Windy City. His administration sidelined the project but recently announced a city-run public food market as an alternative, according to the Chicago Tribune. Meanwhile, Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens is set to open the city’s first municipally subsidized grocery store in 2026.
“Cooperative grocery stores are a feature of many American communities; they provide competition to for-profit groceries and this helps to lower costs for everyone,” James Galbraith, an economics professor at the University of Texas at Austin, told Fox Business. “Mr. Mamdani’s proposal seems comparable; obviously it resonated with New York voters on Tuesday.”
Mamdani’s campaign did not respond to Fox Business’ request for comment.
Judge Glock, the director of research and a senior fellow at the Manhattan Institute, told Fox Business that Mamdani could expand food stamps or the SNAP program in order to address “concerns about the unaffordability of food for some families.”
“But running a grocery store is a famously low-margin business for which the city could not realistically find any excess profit to squeeze,” Glock added.
Influencer Hannah Moody’s cause of death determined weeks after body found
The cause of death has been revealed for a social media influencer who was found dead near an Arizona trailhead after being reported missing.
Hannah Moody, 31, died of environmental heat exposure, according to FOX 10 Phoenix. Her manner of death was listed in a Friday report by the Maricopa County Medical Examiner as an accident.
Moody’s body was discovered in a Scottsdale preserve on May 22, 600 yards off-trail after going missing the day prior. When the search effort launched, her car was found in the parking lot at the Gateway Trailhead in Scottsdale’s McDowell Sonoran Preserve.
Officers searched for her on foot, and also utilized drones and a helicopter. No signs of trauma were found, and investigators did not suspect foul play.

Scott, 55, and Jeff, 61, met in 1992 as coworkers and married one year later. The couple announced their separation in January 2019 after 25 years of marriage.
“If we had known we would separate after 25 years, we would do it all again,” they wrote in a Jan. 9, 2019, post on X (then Twitter). “We’ve had such a great life together as a married couple, and we also see wonderful futures ahead as parents, friends, partners in ventures and projects, and as individuals pursuing ventures and adventures.”
Jeff didn’t have a prenup with Scott, and the separation left her with a 4% stake in the online shopping giant, or around $36 billion at the time. The former couple have four children together.
When the marriage ended, they shared transparent posts about their settlement online.
“Grateful to have finished the process of dissolving my marriage with Jeff with support from each other and everyone who reached out to us in kindness, and looking forward to next phase as co-parents and friends,” Scott wrote.

60-year-old referee ‘alive’ after John Cena blasts him during chaotic WWE main event
John Cena retained the Undisputed WWE Championship in a chaotic main event ending against CM Punk at the Night of Champions premium live event on Saturday.
While Cena came out mostly unscathed, there was one person who wasn’t participating in the match that took one of the hardest bumps of the night. The person was longtime WWE referee Charles Robinson.

Seth Rollins and his stablemates Bronson Reed and Bron Breakker interfered in the title match. Reed and Breakker took out Punk before Cena was thrown out of the ring. Rollins appeared to be ready to cash in his Money in the Bank contract to receive a title shot at any place and any time. He called for a new referee as the main referee of the match was knocked out of the ring.
Robinson sprinted down to the ring, but as he got close to the apron, Cena came over to shoulder block him and prevent Rollins from getting a chance to officially insert himself into the fold.
Cena and Punk eventually cleared the ring to resume their one-on-one matchup. However, Rollins eventually got into the ring and cost Punk a chance at the title. Cena pinned Punk and kept the belt around his waist.

Combs clutches ‘positive thinking’ book as jury note signals potential issues
Jurors in Sean “Diddy” Combs’ sex trafficking and racketeering trial began deliberations Monday.
Roughly an hour after deliberations began, the jury sent back a note. The note said that one of the jurors is not able to follow the instructions given by the judge. The issue could signal a “stealth juror” leading to the possibility of jury nullification, a legal expert told Fox News Digital.
After a lengthy discussion on what to send back to the jury, Judge Arun Subramanian adopted the language for the note proposed by the prosecution. The note sent read, “I received your note. I remind every juror of their duty to deliberate and their obligation to follow my instruction on the law. With that instruction in mind, please continue deliberating.” The note also explained not to include specific details about deliberations in any future notes.
“A juror who ‘cannot follow your honor’s instructions’ is a potential stealth juror and we’re looking at the possibility of jury nullification,” former federal prosecutor Neama Rahmani told Fox News Digital. “Judge Subramanian can admonish the juror, but if they still refuse to follow instructions, his only real options are to dismiss the juror under Rules 23 and 24 and replace them with an alternate, but that will create an appellate issue, or declare a mistrial and we’ll have to start all over. The defense has to be feeling good right now.”
DIDDY BLOWS KISS TO FAMILY AFTER PROSECUTION PROMISES TO PUT A STOP TO HIS ALLEGED CRIMINAL BEHAVIOR
Combs remained in the courtroom for about 20 minutes after the judge decided to provide the jury with the government’s proposed response. He was sitting at the defense table with his attorneys. On his way out of the courtroom, he held up the two books he had with him. One is, “The Power of Positive Thinking.” The other is “The Happiness Advantage.”
“A juror who ‘cannot follow your honor’s instructions’ is a potential stealth juror and we’re looking at the possibility of jury nullification.”
The jury was sent to deliberate around 11:30 am ET by the federal judge after lengthy instructions. Authorities charged Diddy with racketeering, two counts of sex trafficking and two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution. If convicted, he could face life in prison.
A 12-person jury comprised of eight men and four women will make the decision on whether to convict Diddy of federal crimes or let the fallen music mogul walk free following a seven-week trial.
After the judge sent the jury to decide on a foreperson and begin deliberations, the defense raised a request for a slight change in how evidence is presented concerning subject lines as they appear in Blackberry messenger-formatted text messages. The two sides reached an agreement, and it was said that the substance of the evidence would remain unchanged.
The judge then complimented the two sides for a well-tried case. He admired the cooperation of the sides in a logistically complicated case. Subramanian also said this was a great experience for the young attorneys in the room.
Combs then, through Marc Agnifilo, asked if he could be allowed to bring books with him while he waited for a verdict, saying the marshals did not have an issue with it. The judge allowed him to have the books. They did not address which books he would be taking.
Prosecutors began closing arguments Thursday with a focus on Diddy’s alleged stance as the leader of a criminal enterprise, a point they’ve attempted to drive home to the jurors with more than 30 witness testimonies.
The rapper’s defense team, headed by Agnifilo, argued Friday that the prosecution’s evidence proved that the government was targeting Diddy and insisted he was innocent of the charges, which include racketeering, sex trafficking and transportation to engage in prostitution.
With a verdict now imminent almost two months after the trial began, jurors face scrutiny as deliberations kicked off Monday in the Manhattan federal court.

“Jurors in a case like this are tasked with a legal burden that intersects with public scrutiny and highly emotional testimony,” sexual abuse attorney Sarah Klein told Fox News Digital. “Deliberations often become a battleground of credibility assessments, legal definitions, and moral weight — especially when a high-profile defendant is involved.”
The government told jurors during closing arguments that Diddy was “the leader of a criminal enterprise.”
“He doesn’t take no for an answer,” Assistant U.S. Attorney Christine Slavik told the court. “And now you know about many crimes the defendant committed with members of his enterprise: kidnapping of one of the defendant’s employees; arson by trying to blow up a car; forced labor, including of an employee the defendant repeatedly sexually assaulted; bribery of a security officer to keep damning evidence against the defendant buried; and of course, the brutal crimes at the heart of this case — sex trafficking.”
DIDDY DEFENSE CLAIMS HE WAS UNFAIRLY TARGETED, WHILE PROSECUTION SAYS RAPPER THOUGHT HE WAS ‘UNTOUCHABLE’
Agnifilo told jurors that the government lacked quality evidence, and noted that it takes courage for a juror to acquit. “Return him to his family who have been waiting for him,” Agnifilo pleaded with the court.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Maurene Comey fired back during rebuttal that Diddy thought he was “untouchable.”
“For 20 years, the defendant got away with his crimes… That ends in this courtroom… The defendant is not a God,” she said. Comey ended by telling the jury, “It is time to hold him accountable. Find him guilty.”
With closing arguments completed, Judge Arun Subramanian will hand down a detailed list of jury instructions, a detailed list with defining terms and elements of the law agreed upon by both parties to help guide jurors to reach a unanimous verdict. Once the verdict is unanimous, a foreperson will deliver the verdict in court.

“Those jury instructions are insanely difficult to understand,” criminal defense attorney Nicole Blank Becker told Fox News Digital. “I did it, right? I was the lawyer in it, and I still found them extremely difficult to process.
WATCH: DIDDY JURORS HAVE ‘DIFFICULT’ DECISION AHEAD
“It’s going to be really difficult for [the jury] all to be in the back and even figure out how to start attacking it. So, I believe that the government’s goal with doing that was to just make sure they have every little piece covered. And that it’s there if they get confused or need some help in understanding why the government thinks they proved their case.”
Jurors heard allegations of “freak off” parties involving male escorts and Diddy’s ex-girlfriend, Cassie Ventura. The “Me & U” singer testified that drugs, including ecstasy, ketamine and cocaine, were in regular circulation during the “freak offs” for her to disassociate during the sessions.

Cassie testified that Diddy raped her on the living room floor in 2018, then left. At the time, she had been dating Alex Fine, who is now her husband. Cassie admitted to seeing Combs again after the alleged rape, telling the jury they had been together for 10 years and had a connection. Diddy and Cassie dated on-and-off from 2007 until 2018.
Another ex, who testified under the pseudonym “Jane,” told prosecutors there were times she felt coerced into hotel nights with Diddy and that he also still pays for both her legal fees and rent.
During opening statements of Diddy’s trial, which began on May 5, Teny Geragos asked the jury to consider the federal charges, not the choices of an at-times violent man.
“Sean Combs is a complicated man, but this is not a complicated case,” Teny told the court. “This case is about love, jealousy, infidelity and money.

“This case is about voluntary adult choices made by capable adults and consensual relationships. This case is about those real-life relationships, and the government is trying to turn those relationships into a racketeering case, a prostitution case and a sex trafficking case. It will not work.”
Diddy was charged with racketeering conspiracy (RICO); sex trafficking by force, fraud or coercion; and transportation to engage in prostitution in a federal indictment unsealed Sept. 17. If found guilty, he faces a minimum of 15 years behind bars and a maximum sentence of life in prison.
