Netanyahu official drops bombshell: ‘Decision has been made’ on Gaza’s future

Israel’s Security Cabinet is set to meet on Tuesday to discuss next steps in the nearly two-year-old war with the Hamas terror group in the Gaza Strip, including the possibility of taking full control of the Palestinian enclave and operating militarily in areas they have refrained from entering until now, the local media reported.

Israeli journalist Amit Segal, a commentator for Channel 12, the country’s highest-rated news broadcast, quoted a source from the office of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as saying that the “decision has been made… we are going to occupy the Gaza Strip.”

“Hamas will not release hostages without total surrender, if we do not operate now the hostages will die of starvation and Gaza will stay under Hamas’ control,” Segal quoted the official as saying.

HUCKABEE, WITKOFF WENT INSIDE GAZA TO ASSESS GROWING FAMINE CONCERNS

“Israel for months was at a crossroad and, let’s be honest, it was not achieving victory or the hostages. The mandate for a deal was broad, but we did not get agreement, so we will go for occupation,” he quoted.

The reports of deepening the military operation in Gaza come after months of mediated ceasefire talks between Israel and Hamas appeared to have collapsed this week and despite assurances by U.S. Middle East envoy Steve Witkoff, who visited Israel over the weekend, that he was working on a plan that would end the war.

It also comes after Hamas, the designated terror group whose October 7, 2023, mass attack in Israel sparked the war, shocked the Israeli public with propaganda videos of emaciated hostages, including one who was forced to dig his own grave.

Additionally, international pressure on Israel to end the war has ramped up in recent weeks amid accusations that is aid policy is causing famine in Gaza and after images of severely malnourished children – some of whom were later proven to be children with pre-existing medical conditions – went viral.

Pressure in Israel to end the war and return home some 50 hostages, both dead and alive, who remain in Gaza has also been growing, with the country’s leadership divided over the best way to achieve this.

Some ministers in Netanyahu’s government, such as Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich and National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir, have been pushing for Israel to re-occupy Gaza and rebuild Jewish settlements that were dismantled 20 years ago.

The Israeli military, however, has argued against that plan and, according to media reports, is expected to present some alternatives at Tuesday’s cabinet meeting.

CNBC host fires back at Democrat in debate over raising taxes: ‘Spend money elsewhere’

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!

CNBC host David Faber battled Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., over raising taxes in New York City and Democratic socialist Zohran Mamdani’s economic policy proposals on Monday in a fiery back and forth.

“You mentioned Mamdani and you are in New York sort of speaking on behalf of him to a certain extent,” Faber said on CNBC’s “Squawk on the Street.” “New York does not operate in a vacuum. It competes with other cities. And so this idea of somehow raising taxes on the wealthiest New Yorkers, who, by the way, would point out pay roughly 15 percent of their income right now between city and state. Raising taxes on them will simply drive them away.”

“Shouldn’t the focus of a mayor be on delivering services to the constituents of the city and doing that by raising the most revenue as possible without chasing businesses and the high-income taxpayers out of the city?” he asked. “Because they can go to Austin. They can go to Dallas. They can go to Atlanta. They can go to Nashville. This is your issue. It’s a national issue, not a local issue.”

MAMDANI CONFRONTED ON STREETS OF NYC ABOUT ‘COMMUNIST’ LABEL, REFUSES TO ANSWER

Warren argued the issue was affordability and argued New Yorkers can’t afford groceries or housing in the city, as Faber agreed that affordability was a problem but pushed back and asked, “But raising taxes in order to do it – why is that the answer?”

“Oh dear, are you worried that billionaires are going to go hungry?” Warren mockingly responded.

“No, I’m worried that they’re going to leave and spend their money elsewhere!” Faber hit back.

Warren said that billionaires always threaten to do that, while Faber argued that big companies actually do move elsewhere.

“They’ve left. And Goldman Sachs, when they create new jobs, they do it in Dallas. And Blackstone won’t build a new headquarters. I can go on and on,” Faber said.

Warren said New York needed people who could live and work in the city as she continued to argue that childcare affordability and grocery prices were a problem.

FMR. OBAMA TREASURY SEC. CONCERNED ZOHRAN MAMDANI WILL HURT NEW YORK CITY IF ELECTED MAYOR

“These are national issues,” Faber said. “But if you deal with them in that way, by what is always your backup, just tax them more. They will leave.”

“I think many people would disagree to the extent that by raising taxes and making it more onerous for businesses that create the jobs, that create the revenues on which taxes are – tax revenues come from, that you’d ultimately be dealing with a smaller pie. He may succeed by driving everybody out. Rents will go down,” Faber said as Warren kept her argument focused on billionaires.

“If you think that the best way to run city government or national government is to start with the billionaires and say, what will work best for you? Vote Republican,” she said. “But if you don’t, then let’s make the city more affordable. Let’s make the country more affordable. And the way we do that, let’s focus on housing. Let’s focus on groceries.”

Faber argued that these were national issues that senators like Warren should be focusing on before pointing to Mamdani’s inexperience.

“You think somebody who has absolutely no experience, a 33-year-old socialist, is going to succeed as the mayor of New York?” he asked.

Warren said yes and called his primary win “democracy at work.”

Well, after he received his brand-new gold jacket, he wanted to turn back the clock and do his signature sack celebration.

Unfortunately for Allen, suit pants don’t have as much give as football pants.

When Allen stood up, he realized that he had a major rip on the back of his pants, stretching from his rear all the way to near the kneecap.

The 2004 fourth-round pick played for four teams in his 12-year career, most notably the Minnesota Vikings, in which he racked up four All-Pros, five Pro Bowls and 136 sacks.

Radio host fires back after Trump calls him ‘racist sleazebag’ in heated exchange

“The Breakfast Club” host Charlamagne tha God doubled down on his criticism of President Donald Trump’s second term on Monday after Trump lashed out at the radio host in a fiery social media post.

During a wide-ranging interview Saturday on “My View with Lara Trump,” Charlamagne claimed that President Trump hadn’t delivered on his key campaign promises, such as improving the economy for the people who needed it the most.

“I wouldn’t give it a good rating, simply because the least of us are still being impacted by the worst,” he said of Trump’s second term. He argued that the poorest Americans would be hurt by Trump’s “Big Beautiful Bill” because of its reforms to programs like Medicaid.

Trump responded by calling Charlamagne a “racist sleazebag” in a scathing Truth Social post on Sunday.

CHARLAMAGNE THA GOD NAMES SURPRISING 2028 PRESIDENTIAL SUGGESTION

“He’s a low-IQ individual, has no idea what words are coming out of his mouth and knows nothing about me or what I have done,” Trump wrote in the post, defending his record on the economy, the border, and foreign policy.

The feud continued Monday after Charlamagne responded to Trump on “The Breakfast Club.”

He laughed off the personal insults about his intelligence and joked that some people might agree that he’s a “sleazebag.”

“I looked up the definition of sleazebag, says it’s ‘a disgusting or despicable person.’ Depending on who you ask, that may apply to me,” Charlamagne remarked. “I personally prefer friendly, neighborhood a-hole.”

CHARLAMAGNE SUGGESTS BIG, BEAUTIFUL BILL IS SIGN THAT MIDTERMS AND 2028 ELECTION WILL BE ‘FIXED’

But he rebutted the president’s “racist” claim.

“He called me a racist,” Charlamagne said in disbelief. “I didn’t mention race, not one time on Lara Trump!”

The radio host suggested it was ironic for Trump to call him this while his administration was tackling diversity and civil rights programs.

“I didn’t bring up the fact that President Trump issued an executive order directing oversight of institutions like the Smithsonian to remove or suppress narratives about systemic racism in Black history,” he said.

“They want to reframe cultural memory to eliminate discussions of historical racial injustice. That, along with determination of diversity and civil rights programs, are considered very racist by a lot of civil rights advocates. I didn’t even bring that up, okay? I was just talking to your base, letting your base know that you haven’t kept the promises you made in regards to the economy,” he continued.

Afterward, Charlamagne emphasized that he was “rooting” for Trump to succeed, so America could succeed.

“Believe it or not, I’m rooting for you, but I need you focused and, right now, you’re not focused. Ok? We need you focused on two things: the economy and [Jeffrey] Epstein. I need you to keep the promises of a great economy and the promises of transparency with the Epstein files,” he said.

Highly contagious disease surges in some US states amid report of possible fatal case

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!

Hand, foot and mouth disease (HFMD) is on the rise in some parts of the U.S., public health departments have reported.

The highly contagious viral illness is most prevalent among children under 5, but people of all ages can become infected, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

In Virginia, the Fairfax County Health District has published an alert of six HFMD outbreaks earlier this year, mainly affecting children 4 and younger.

RARE TICK-BORNE VIRUS CAUSING NEUROLOGICAL SYMPTOMS DIAGNOSED IN NORTHEASTERN STATE

The U.S. Virgin Islands Department of Health has confirmed 189 cases of the disease in St. Thomas, including a possible fatal case involving a toddler.

In March, the Pan American Health Organization issued an alert urging member states to “strengthen the prevention and control of hand, foot and mouth disease, especially in children, due to their high vulnerability and the risk of serious complications in the central nervous system.”

Tina Q. Tan, M.D., an attending physician at the Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago and president of the Infectious Diseases Society of America, said that HFMD most commonly occurs during the summer and early fall when the weather is warmer.

“We are seeing more cases at this time,” she told Fox News Digital. “It is a very common infection that is usually mild.”

THE GROSS REASON AIRPLANE PASSENGERS MIGHT WANT TO AVOID USING THE WATER ON FLIGHTS

The viruses that most commonly cause the illness are the Coxsackie and Enteroviruses, the doctor said.

Spread and symptoms

HFMD can be transmitted through viral particles while sneezing, coughing or talking, the CDC says.

People can also spread the virus after touching contaminated objects and surfaces. In the case of blistering rashes, the fluid from the blisters can also spread the virus.

“The illness is very contagious, so it can spread quickly in daycare and school settings,” Tan said. “Persons are most contagious during the first few days of the illness, but it can also be spread through stool for several weeks.”

“We are seeing more cases at this time. It is a very common infection that is usually mild.”

Infants and children can continue to go to daycare and school as long as they have no fever, are feeling well enough to drink and participate in activities, and have no open lesions or copious drooling when they have the mouth sores, according to Tan.

The primary symptoms of HFMD include fever, skin rash and painful, blistering mouth sores, per the CDC.

“The rash is most commonly found on hands and feet, appearing as raised or flat red spots that can turn into blisters,” Tan told Fox News Digital.

“The painful mouth sores, blisters or ulcers can occur on the tongue, gums and mucous membranes,” she added.

Treatment and prevention

Most people only experience mild illness and get better without treatment within seven to 10 days.

People can manage pain and fever with over-the-counter medications. They should also drink plenty of fluids to prevent dehydration, the CDC recommends.

While complications are rare, the CDC advises that pregnant women see a doctor if they contract HFMD.

“Patients or parents should seek medical care if they feel they are uncomfortable with the symptoms that they or their child are having and the symptoms are worsening; if they are unable to take adequate fluid and there is a decrease in urine output; or anytime they feel that there is a change in mental status,” Tan said.

The most common complication of HFMD is dehydration due to painful mouth lesions that prevent adequate fluid intake, according to the doctor.

“It can also cause nail loss in those individuals who had involvement of fingers,” she said. “Very rarely, it can cause serious complications like viral meningitis, encephalitis and paralysis.”

To prevent the highly contagious virus, the CDC recommends washing hands frequently with soap and water.

People should also clean and disinfect common surfaces and shared items, such as doorknobs and toys, Tan advised.

There is not currently a vaccine for HFMD in the U.S.

Top Dem senator reveals socialist Mamdani is what her party should look like

Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., a champion of the progressive left, is praising democratic socialist Zohran Mamdani’s focus on affordability as he runs for mayor in the nation’s most populous city as a model for the Democratic Party.

Asked by Fox News as she teamed up at a campaign event at a union headquarters on Monday with the Democratic Party’s New York City mayoral nominee if Mamdani was what the future of the party should look like, Warren answered “you bet.”

“The Democratic Party needs to stand up and be clear. We are the party that fights for affordability, for working families, that means child care. That means housing. It means health care. It means making this country work better for the working people who make this country work,” Warren said.

And pointing to Mamdani, Warren said, “Democrats are the ones who every day don’t just talk the talk, but walk the walk to make our country more affordable for working people, and I’m here with the guy who’s walking the walk right now.”

MAMDANI, CUOMO, CLASH OVER POLICE SUPPORT FOLLOWING NYC MASS SHOOTING

Mamdani, the 33-year-old Ugandan-born state lawmaker from the New York City borough of Queens, shocked the political world in late June by coming from behind to top former Gov. Andrew Cuomo and nine other candidates to capture the Democratic Party mayoral nomination in the overwhelmingly blue city.

Thanks to an energetic campaign that put a major focus on affordability and New York City’s high cost of living, along with a massive grassroots army of supporters, and the backing of progressive champions Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York and Sen. Bernie Sanders of Vermont, Mamdani surged to a primary victory.

MAMDANI FACES BACKLASH FOR OPULENT WEDDING CELEBRATION

Mamdani made smart use of social media platforms, including TikTok, as he engaged low-propensity voters. He also proposed eliminating fares to ride New York City’s vast bus system, making CUNY (City University of New York) “tuition-free,” freezing rents on municipal housing, offering “free childcare” for children up to age 5 and setting up government-run grocery stores.

He is now the clear frontrunner in November’s general election as he aims to make history as New York City’s first Muslim and first millennial mayor.

Republicans have targeted Mamdani and tried to turn him into the new face of the Democratic Party, highlighting multiple radical policy positions he has pushed, including defunding police, anti-Israel rhetoric, and “kick[ing] the fascist ICE out of New York City.” They aim to anchor him to vulnerable Democrats across the country running in elections this year and next year.

Even though he was defeated for the Democratic Party nomination, Cuomo is running in the general election as an independent candidate. Cuomo, who stepped down as governor in 2021 during his third term amid multiple scandals, is aiming for a political comeback.

Also on the general election ballot are Mayor Eric Adams, the embattled incumbent who announced earlier this year that he would seek re-election as an independent candidate rather than seek the Democratic Party nomination amid cratering poll numbers, and Guardian Angels co-founder Curtis Sliwa, who for a second straight election is the Republican mayoral nominee.

Warren took aim at Cuomo, arguing that the former governor’s “whole path here seems to be to go to a handful of billionaires, have them give you a bunch of money, and hope that you will be able to flood the city with a bunch of negative ads.”

Cuomo, at a campaign event on Monday, continued to target Mamdani as he unveiled his own public safety proposal for the city.

The former governor has called Mamdani “anti-police,” arguing he “doesn’t understand the need for public safety.”

Mamdani, in the wake of last week’s mass shooting in a midtown Manhattan office building, has faced renewed scrutiny over past statements made on social media in 2020 when he called for defunding the police multiple times.

Warren’s event with Mamdani was part of a multipronged push to support him in his push for New York City mayor.

The senator, who ran unsuccessfully for the Democratic Party’s 2020 presidential nomination, also released a social media video praising Mamdani and wrote an opinion piece that appeared in Rolling Stone.

The other suspects arrested in connection with the incident are Dominique Kittle, Jermaine Matthews, Montianez Merriweather and Dekyra Vernon. Matthews posted bond last week.

The FBI and Atlanta Metropolitan Major Offender’s Task Force took Rosemond into custody. He will go through the extradition process before returning to Cincinnati, police said.

The beatdown happened between Elm and Fourth Streets, with videos of the incident going viral on social media. The videos show two people being attacked, which included a woman who was left unconscious after being punched and kicked several times.

She said externally, her injuries are healing but, “internally there is a lot of damage that has been done. I’ve been in and out of hospitals and specialists, and it’s going to be an ongoing battle for a very long time.”

Out of the approximately 100 people who saw the fight, only one called 911, Cincinnati Police Chief Teresa Theetge said.

Bank of America’s CEO reacts to weak jobs report after Trump fires BLS chief

Bank of America CEO Brian Moynihan said in an interview on Sunday that the president’s firing of the Bureau of Labor Statistics commissioner following a weak jobs report was due to politics, though he said government employment data should be improved.

Moynihan appeared on CBS News’ “Face the Nation with Margaret Brennan” and was asked whether he’s concerned about the president firing the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) commissioner and whether he feels there is political pressure.

“Well, I think that’s more politics,” Moynihan said, adding that he thinks the agency’s data collection processes have seen lower levels of responses in recent years, which have contributed to revisions of the monthly jobs report.

“It’s 2025 and the data should be able to be – they use surveys and things like that, which, frankly, just aren’t as effective anymore. So if you look at the rate of people who respond to their surveys, it’s down from 60% level to 50% level,” he explained.

TRUMP ORDERS TERMINATION OF LABOR STATISTICS OFFICIAL AFTER JOBS REPORT AND DOWNWARD REVISIONS

Moynihan said Bank of America doesn’t use surveys to assess labor market data and instead relies on its data to gauge what businesses and consumers are doing.

“We watch what consumers do. We watch what businesses do. They can get this data, I think, other ways and I think that’s where the focus ought to be,” Moynihan said of the BLS.

“How do we get the data to be more resilient and more predictable and more understandable? Because what bounces around is restatements, and that was one of the largest restatements, going back five or seven years in the pandemic, five years in the pandemic, that creates doubt around it,” he added.

“And so I think the key is, let’s get – let’s spend some money. Let’s bring the information together. Let’s find where else in the government money is reported. We report millions and millions of data points to the government every day. The data is out there somewhere,” Moynihan said.

US JOB GROWTH COOLED IN JULY AMID GROWING ECONOMIC UNCERTAINTY

The BLS reported its July jobs report on Friday, which showed the U.S. economy added 73,000 jobs last month – well below the gain of 110,000 jobs estimated by economists polled by LSEG.

The agency also reported what it called a “larger than normal” set of downward revisions to job gains the prior two months, with May’s gain of 144,000 jobs revised down by 125,000 to just 19,000 jobs added, while June’s gain of 147,000 jobs was revised down by 133,000 to 14,000.

Those two revisions left employment levels in May and June with 258,000 fewer jobs than previously reported. Goldman Sachs economists noted that it was the largest two-month revision for May and June since 1968 outside of recessions, based on the assumption that the U.S. isn’t currently in a recession.

President Donald Trump took to his Truth Social platform to announce that he directed his administration to fire BLS Commissioner Erika McEntarfer, accusing her of manipulating the jobs figures for political purposes.

WHITE HOUSE ECONOMIST BACKS TRUMP FIRING LABOR STATS HEAD, HITS ‘PARTISAN PATTERN’ IN JOBS DATA: ‘PROPAGANDA’

“I was just informed that our Country’s ‘Jobs Numbers’ are being produced by a Biden Appointee, Dr. Erika McEntarfer, the Commissioner of Labor Statistics, who faked the Jobs Numbers before the Election to try and boost Kamala’s chances of Victory,” Trump wrote. “This is the same Bureau of Labor Statistics that overstated the Jobs Growth in March 2024 by approximately 818,000 and, then again, right before the 2024 Presidential Election, in August and September, by 112,000. These were Records – No one can be that wrong?”

“We need accurate Jobs Numbers. I have directed my Team to fire this Biden Political Appointee, IMMEDIATELY. She will be replaced with someone much more competent and qualified,” Trump continued. “Important numbers like this must be fair and accurate, they can’t be manipulated for political purposes. McEntarfer said there were only 73,000 Jobs added (a shock!) but, more importantly, that a major mistake was made by them, 258,000 Jobs downward, in the two prior months. Similar things happened in the first part of the year, always to the negative.”

TRUMP CALLS FIRED BLS COMMISSIONER’S JOB NUMBERS THE ‘BIGGEST MISCALCULATIONS IN OVER 50 YEARS’

McEntarfer was confirmed by the Senate as BLS commissioner in January 2024 on a broadly bipartisan vote of 86-8. Current vice president and then-Sen. JD Vance, R-Ohio, was among the senators voting in support of her confirmation.

Trump said in comments over the weekend that his administration will “announce a new statistician sometime over the next 3, 4 days,” adding that “we had no confidence, the numbers were ridiculous that she announced” and that “it’s a scam, in my opinion.”

The president on Monday continued to claim that the jobs report was manipulated, writing on Truth Social:

“Last weeks Job’s Report was RIGGED, just like the numbers prior to the Presidential Election were Rigged. That’s why, in both cases, there was massive, record setting revisions, in favor of the Radical Left Democrats. Those big adjustments were made to cover up, and level out, the FAKE political numbers that were CONCOCTED in order to make a great Republican Success look less stellar!!! I will pick an exceptional replacement. Thank you for your attention to this matter. MAGA!”
