Ex-megachurch pastor attacks Trump supporters as ‘antithetical to anything good’
A former megachurch youth pastor turned progressive activist argued that it’s impossible to be a “good person” and support President Donald Trump in a scathing blog post last week.
“I often hear people say, ‘He or she supports him but is a really good person,'” John Pavlovitz wrote in his August 2 Substack post about Trump supporters. “I consider that an oxymoron. I believe aligning with him is fundamentally antithetical to anything good,” he added.
Pavlovitz, a former youth pastor at an evangelical church in North Carlina, has been an outspoken critic of Trump since his 2016 election victory. His provocative essays have been widely shared in progressive Christian circles, leading one faith news outlet to label him the “digital pastor of the resistance.”
LIBERAL WRITER ENCOURAGES SHUNNING TRUMP-SUPPORTING RELATIVES AS RIGHT THING TO DO
In his recent blog post, he attacked Trump’s cuts to the federal government, immigration enforcement and other policies as the opposite of “good.”
“But this President is not a good human being, and there’s simply no way around this truth,” Pavlovitz declared. “Objectively speaking, he is the very worst humanity has produced, a moral bottom-feeder without scruples or conscience or decency.”
“Outside of those indoctrinated into his dwindling, sycophantic death cult, the entire world is in agreement on this. What is painfully obvious in these moments isn’t simply that the person alleging to lead this country is a terrible human being; it is that anyone left still defending him, applauding him, justifying him, celebrating him, probably is too,” he added.

“At this point, the only reason left to support a man like this is that he reflects your hateful heart, that he shares your contempt of people of color, your hostility toward outsiders, your toxic misogyny, your ignorant bigotry, and your feelings of supremacy. He is a snarling, vicious, grotesque avatar who says the things you believe and hurts the people you want to hurt,” Pavlovitz seethed.
He has echoed calls within some progressive circles to “cut off” Trump-supporting family members and friends, arguing that those who voted for the president are morally repugnant.

Pavlovitz is also one of several figures on the left who have suggested the 2024 election was tampered with.

Ancient space rock blasts through Georgia roof, stuns scientists with its origins
A meteorite fragment that burst through the roof of a Georgia home last June has been determined to be billions of years old and to predate the Earth, according to a geology professor.
“A lot of people saw the fireball,” University of Georgia geologist Scott Harris told Fox News Digital on Friday of the meteorite fragment that he said had come from an asteroid belt between Mars and Jupiter and fell to Earth on June 26 near Atlanta.
He said he was immediately alerted to the incident and went to examine what had happened, looking in the attic for the fragment’s point of entry.
ANCIENT ‘STICK FIGURES’ ON BEACH ONCE AGAIN VISIBLE AT TOURIST DESTINATION
“The homeowner didn’t know that they actually had a clean hole through the roof, through an air duct,” he continued.
“They knew about the hole in the roof, but they didn’t know it went through the air duct, through one side of the air duct, out the other side of the air duct through a couple of feet of insulation, then through the ceiling. They had about a 10-foot-high ceiling, kind of a slanted frame ceiling, and then it went the distance from there to the floor and left about a centimeter-and-a-half little crater in the floor.”
He said the meteorite left a hole in the floor “about the size of a large cherry tomato.”
“And so this hit hard enough that part of it just absolutely was pulverized like somebody hitting it with a sledgehammer,” he explained.
Harris said the ancient fragment broke the sound barrier as it hurtled toward Earth, adding that it would have sounded like a “very high-powered rifle” to the homeowner.
SCIENTISTS DISCOVER ANCIENT RADIO SIGNALS FROM DISTANT GALAXY CLUSTER
“These are objects that go back to the original material formed 4.56 billion years ago,” Harris said.
“So, in the days slightly before the formation of the planets themselves, and at least the rocky interior planets. And, you know, those are the basic building blocks then of our rocky planets and, so that’s one of the reasons that scientists are interested in studying them is it shows us about some of the processes that were active during the early days of the solar system.”
The Earth is believed to be 4.54 billion years old.
Harris explained that while such a small fragment didn’t present a threat to anyone, scientists want to study the dynamics of meteorites falling to Earth because the “ultimate goal is to tell you what the risk assessment is for what could be absolute doom.”
ASTRONOMERS MAKE GROUNDBREAKING DISCOVERY ABOUT LARGEST COMET EVER OBSERVED FLYING THROUGH DEEP SPACE
“No one’s got to do anything about a small object like this coming through the atmosphere, but understanding where these materials come from in the solar system and understanding that even the dynamics of the small pieces are important for ultimately understanding where the bigger ones are and what the risks are for us in the future,” he said.
Scientists studying the dynamics of meteorites can attempt to “engineer ways to avoid collisions with them, most notably by techniques like were demonstrated a few years ago by the DART mission, where we could actually have what’s called a kinetic impacter to go and basically move an asteroid a little bit,” Harris explained.

Shedeur Sanders’ coach raises eyebrows with comments about QB’s future
Cleveland Browns coach Kevin Stefanski did not offer much clarity on Shedeur Sanders’ future role with the team after the quarterback’s big preseason debut Friday night.
Sanders became the talk of the sports world with two touchdown passes against the Panthers, earning the praise of LeBron James and other sports stars, including South Carolina women’s basketball coach Dawn Staley.
But Stefanski did not indicate whether the performance would result in Sanders getting a promotion on the depth chart. Sanders has been buried at fourth behind Joe Flacco, Kenny Pickett and Dillon Gabriel.

“We need to get through the next couple of days from an injury standpoint and see where everybody is,” Stefanski told reporters Saturday when asked about Sanders’ role.
“I’m really focused on all of our quarterbacks’ development and every single one of these reps last night, how important they are. So, that’s what I’m focused on more than anything.”
Stefanski added that Sanders can “clean up” some aspects of his performance.
“We have a standard for that position and really every position, but certainly the quarterback position. There’s a standard by which we play and how we play and how we operate and how we take care of the football and those type of things,” Stefanski said.
“There are things that Shedeur can clean up, he will clean up. But, by and large, I thought the operation was really good, and that’s important when you have different guys in there. … I think it goes back to, with Shedeur or any player, you’re maximizing all of your time in the building.”
SHEDEUR SANDERS NFL DRAFT MELTDOWN TIMELINE
Stefanski’s comments drew criticism on social media from fans who believe Sanders is worthy of more praise after the performance.
“Getting Kevin Stefanski to praise Shedeur and not praise the rookies or QBs as a whole is like pulling teeth,” one X user wrote.
Another user wrote, “Stop playing and name him the starter already.”
Sanders was critical of his performance Friday despite the two touchdowns.
“Did I play up to par? No, I don’t feel like I did,” Sanders said after the game. “But, overall, the main goal was to win, and that’s honestly what we did.
“I’m comfortable with being uncomfortable, so that’s what it is.”
Sanders addressed whether he has a fair shot to win the starting job Saturday.
“I just don’t think that deep into everything because there’s nothing you’re going to be able to control.,” Sanders said. “The most you can do is when you get your opportunity, when your number is called, perform, at least do the bare minimum and win the game. That’s what I feel like we did today and definitely things I’m able to grow off of.”
Still, Sanders used his big night as an opportunity to take aim at one of his detractors.
In a YouTube video posted by his brother, Deion Sanders Jr., Shedeur confronted one of the Browns’ beat reporters, ESPN’s Tony Grossi, at Bank of America Stadium. It wasn’t a nasty interaction, though Sanders was sarcastic with the reporter.

“Tony, I be hoping you have something positive to say about me,” Sanders told Grossi. “You only say negative stuff about me. And I’m like, ‘I ain’t do nothing to you.’ I ain’t see nothing positive that you ever say.”
Grossi’s response wasn’t audible, though they shared a laugh afterward.
“What I do? What’d I do to you?” Sanders said as he walked away.
The Browns take on the Philadelphia Eagles in their second preseason game next week, and Stefanski said Sanders will be getting considerable reps.
Sanders fell to the 144th pick in the NFL Draft this spring after scouts raised character concerns. He was previously considered a contender for the first overall pick but slipped past the first four rounds in one of the most shocking draft slides in NFL history, prompting confusion and debate by many NFL fans.
Sanders’ time with the Browns has already involved controversy after he was twice cited for speeding.
Sanders was first ticketed for allegedly driving 91 mph in a 65 mph zone. Two weeks later, he allegedly hit 101 mph in a 60 mph zone and failed to appear in court.
Browns general manager Andrew Berry criticized Sanders for the incidents last month.
“Not smart. Just not smart,” Berry told reporters about the tickets. “It’s something that we’ve addressed with him. Look, he understands the implications. He understands the consequences. It’s not just about yourself. It’s not just about having a joyride, but that you could injure other people. … A deer or something cuts in front of you, your reaction time, it’s just dangerous.”
Country star reveals 200-pound weight loss milestone achievement
Jelly Roll revealed that he has dropped 200 pounds as he continues his weight-loss journey.
In a video shared on X by the Tennessee Titans, the 40-year-old country star shared his latest health milestone while giving a motivational speech to the NFL team. The Nashville native is a lifelong Titans fan and the team’s head coach, Brian Callahan, invited him to speak to the players at their training camp before they hit the road for their pre-season games.
During his surprise appearance at a team meeting, Jelly Roll told the Titans “I can’t get on the field” but joked that he was getting “close.”
“I lost 200 pounds. I told Coach I’m getting a contract if I lose another 50,” the “Save Me” singer said to applause from the players and staff.
JELLY ROLL TRAINING FOR HALF-MARATHON, TRANSFORMING HIMSELF AFTER WEIGHT SHAMING FORCED HIM OFF THE INTERNET
A representative for Jelly Roll did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital’s request for comment.
Jelly Roll has regularly shared updates on his progress since he first embarked on his health journey in December 2022.
In April, Jelly Roll revealed that he had shed 183 pounds during Pat McAfee’s “Big Night AHT” event.

“I started at 540 pounds. I’m 357 pounds this morning, baby,” he told the crowd as they cheered.
“I’m going to lose another 100 pounds and go skydiving with my wife!” declared the rapper, who has been married to Bunnie Xo since August 2016.
During a May interview with Fox News Digital, Jelly Roll admitted the biggest challenge he faced in his battle to lose weight.
“Food, man,” Jelly Roll said at the 2025 Academy of Country Music Awards.
Jelly Roll explained that his weight loss wasn’t just about his fitness, but a constant struggle with his relationship with food.
“If you’re really battling obesity, you got to start at the dinner table, man. The walking’s great, all the other stuff’s great, but you got to fight that addiction at the dinner table,” he said.

“The battle was with the food addiction, changing the way I’ve looked at food for the last 39 years,” he told People magazine last year. “I’ve never had a healthy relationship with food, so that was the hard part. But once you get into that discipline and commitment, it’s like an avalanche. Once that little snowball started rolling, it was on its way.”
In October 2024, the “Son of a Sinner” singer shared a video on Instagram, where his trainer noted that Jelly Roll had achieved a major weight-loss goal.
“We just passed the halfway point of the tour, and Jelly’s been crushing it,” his trainer said. “We’re either walking [around] the arena, playing basketball, boxing. He just surpassed his 100-pound weight loss.”
In December 2024, he appeared on Bunnie Xo’s “Dumb Blonde” podcast and shared why he decided to be open with his fans about losing weight.
“I did this publicly for a reason,” he said. “I want to be honest about my struggles with it with people. I wore it for so long.”
Jelly Roll continued, “I think that people that become as big as I became, when they lose the weight, they’re kind of ashamed. They’re so ashamed that they go and hide and lose the weight, and then they come back out, and they don’t really know how to interact with the world, looking different or feeling different, you know? And they kind of got to find their whole new way.”
“I wanted to lose it in front of everybody. I wanted to talk about it… This is constantly what I’m putting in the air because I want to bring people along with me.”

He later told Bunnie, “I wanna be on the cover of ‘Men’s Health’ by March of 2026. That’s my new goal. So I wanna have one of the biggest transformations.”
JONATHAN TURLEY: Alan Dershowitz fights back after Martha’s Vineyard chef refuses to serve him
Harvard Professor Alan Dershowitz appears to be living through a remake of the Seinfeld Soup Nazi episode. However, Dershowitz is facing a new culinary menace in Martha’s Vineyard. Chef Krem Miskevich has barred the famed lawyer from buying pierogis because of his political views, and liberals are applauding him for it. Welcome to Pierogi Politics. It is the same distasteful politics that is tearing apart this country, only with an added carbo load.
Dershowitz has previously described how his liberal neighbors, who were friendly when he was advancing left-wing causes, have blacklisted him in the elite community due to his defense of President Donald Trump. He is treated as a persona non grata and shunned by the wealthy community.
BILL MAHER UNLOADS: ‘HOW COME IT’S OKAY FOR THE LEFT TO HATE THE JEWS?’
Now the blacklisting has extended to food. Dershowitz would regularly go to the West Tisbury Farmers Market and buy food from the Good Pierogi. Then Miskevich decided to join the mob and bar him from eating.
Miskevich (who goes by pronouns “they” and “them”) also accused Dershowitz of misgendering by referring to “him” in passing (Dershowitz said that he would happily use his preferred pronouns). However, Miskevich admits it is his political and legal views that led him to blacklist the professor.
Dershowitz is now pursuing legal action against the West Tisbury Farmers Market and posted this statement on his YouTube channel last week: “He didn’t approve of my politics so he wouldn’t serve me.”
Dershowitz suggested that the initial rejection may have been due to his wearing a pro-Jewish T-shirt. In his initial encounter, he had reminded the vendor that Massachusetts law prohibits refusing service based on race, religion or sexual orientation: “You couldn’t say ‘I don’t serve black people,’ you couldn’t say, ‘I don’t serve gay people,’ you couldn’t say ‘I don’t serve Jews.'”
The police were called in the incident and led Dershowitz away.
Miskevich has thrilled the left by venting his hate for Dershowitz and anyone who holds his political or legal views:
“When he came to our booth, I experienced a surge of emotion. As a chef, I love to share what I cook with the public, regardless of who they are. In this case, what was in the forefront of my mind was the fact that this was the high-profile attorney who represented several sexual predators and abusers including Jeffrey Epstein.”
Dershowitz is entirely in the right here, and the treatment that he received was outrageous. What is chilling is how hate is now celebrated on the left as a perverse type of virtue signaling.
We have seen how the left has embraced blacklisting, an abuse that was once associated with the McCarthy period. In 1950, columnist and civil libertarian Max Lerner penned a chilling prediction in the New York Post about the Red Scare: “There is a hate layer of opinion and emotion in America. There will be other McCarthys to come who will be hailed as its heroes.”
It turns out it would come from the left. Calls for blacklisting have come from city councils to public interest groups. Others called for banning those “complicit” from college campuses, while still others demanded a “Truth and Reconciliation Commission” to “hold Trump and his enablers accountable for the crimes they have committed.” Daily Beast editor-at-large Rick Wilson added his own call for “humiliation,” “incarceration,” and even ritualistic suicides for Trump supporters in an unhinged, vulgar column.
Writers and editors have joined blacklisting efforts targeting Trump supporters, conservative justices, and authors like JK Rowling for their political views. It is all part of the Orwellian logic of the Left: intolerance in the name of tolerance, blacklisting in the name of free speech.
CLICK HERE FOR FOX NEWS DIGITAL’S COVERAGE OF ANTISEMITISM EXPOSED
We have also seen lawyers increasingly targeted by the Left for their clients, a tactic once used against liberal lawyers representing unpopular criminal or civil clients. That includes the successful targeting of a Harvard professor for representing Weinstein. Many leading lawyers helped fund the Lincoln Project in its national effort to harass and abuse any lawyers representing the Republican party or President Trump.
This week, President Trump even had to sign an executive order to deter “debanking” where financial institutions discriminate on the basis of political or religious views.
Now, back to Dershowitz. Liberals are applauding the denial of food to people who do not share their political views. Indeed, Miskevich is parading and posturing like the MLK of Martha’s Vineyard for joining the mob against a single, unpopular neighbor. Instead of treating food as a basis for shared dialogue and exchange, Miskevich wants to weaponize it to use against those who dare to hold opposing views.
What is particularly striking is how these are many of the same people who insisted that a Colorado baker should be required to make cakes that violate the owner’s religious and free speech rights. In and later cases like , the Left hounded business owners for refusing to sell products that celebrated same-sex marriages. They were outraged that such denials are hateful and intolerant.
CLICK HERE FOR MORE FOX NEWS OPINION
However, in , the owner insisted that he would sell cakes to same-sex couples and anyone else coming into his store. He only drew the line at preparing cakes expressly celebrating same-sex marriages as an expressive act that violated his core beliefs.
In this case, Miskevich is refusing to sell pre-made pierogis based on a political litmus test. It is not clear that this violates the law, but it is wrong. If Dershowitz asked Miskevich to cater a pierogi-based party in celebration of Trump, I would support his right to decline as a matter of free speech given his dislike for conservatives. However, this is the denial of service for pre-made pierogis based on viewpoint discrimination.
CLICK HERE TO GET THE FOX NEWS APP
There is little doubt that Miskevich will haul in customers by pandering to the mob. The only thing that is more enticing today than the love for good food is the hate for opposing views. The problem is that feeding on hate will never satiate people; they simply want more servings. That insatiable appetite is destroying this country and now Miskevich is contributing to it one pierogi at a time.

Young girl among multiple victims as a gunman opens fire in Baltimore
Six people, including a 5-year-old girl, were wounded in a shooting Saturday night in Baltimore, Maryland, according to police.
Baltimore Police responded to a call at around 8: 45 p.m. regarding a shooting at Spaulding and Queensberry Avenues, Police Commissioner Richard Worley said at a news briefing.
Officers arrived at the scene to find six victims — four males and two females, including the 5-year-old girl, who was shot in the hand. Worley said the child’s injury does not appear to be serious.

Man left fighting for life after stranger’s brutal acid ambush in Hawaii
Authorities in Hawaii are searching for a suspect who allegedly threw acid into a man’s face Friday night in Honolulu, leaving him in critical condition.
According to the Honolulu Police Department (HPD), officers responded to an assault complaint shortly after 10 p.m. in the Chinatown area.
Witnesses told officers a 30-year-old man was crossing the street when an unidentified suspect approached and threw an unknown liquid into his face.
The Honolulu Fire Department later identified the liquid as sulfuric acid, a highly corrosive chemical that causes severe burns to skin, eyes and internal tissue.

Trump weighs major marijuana policy move that would reclassify the plant
President Donald Trump is weighing whether to reclassify marijuana as a less dangerous drug, according to a report.
Trump told attendees at a $1 million-a-plate fundraiser at his New Jersey golf club earlier this month he was interested in making a change to the plant’s classification, The Wall Street Journal reported, citing sources familiar with the matter.
This comes after cannabis companies have committed millions of dollars to the president’s political groups, according to the report.
FEDERAL JUDGE BLOCKS OREGON LAW REQUIRING MARIJUANA BUSINESS WORKERS SET UP LABOR AGREEMENTS WITH WORKERS
The guests at Trump’s fundraiser included Kim Rivers, chief executive of Trulieve, one of the largest marijuana companies. Rivers urged the president to make the change and expand medical marijuana research, the newspaper noted.
The potential move to remove marijuana from the list of Schedule I controlled substances and make it a Schedule III drug would make it significantly easier to buy and sell cannabis and make the industry more profitable.
The Biden administration had begun pursuing the reclassification of marijuana but did not enact the change before leaving office.
There have also been several bills introduced in Congress by Democrats and Republicans to either lower the classification of marijuana to a Schedule III drug or remove it from the list of controlled substances altogether. Federal lawmakers have also sought to decriminalize the plant.
