Former first daughter ends marriage with social media post about ‘new beginnings’
Former first daughter Ashley Biden this week filed for divorce from her husband of 13 years, according to reports.
The 44-year-old also posted an Instagram story on the same day with the song “Freedom” by Beyonce.
In her post, Biden walks through a park giving a thumbs up while the song plays, according to the Philadelphia Inquirer, which reported the filing first.

She also posted the quote: “New life, new beginnings means new boundaries. New ways of being that won’t look or sound like they did before” over “Freedom Time” by Lauryn Hill.
Biden has been married to plastic surgeon Howard Krein since 2012.
The estranged couple were wed in Greenville, Delaware, in a ceremony that combined her Catholic faith and his Jewish roots, according to People magazine.
A reception was held at the Biden family’s Wilmington lake house.
ASHLEY BIDEN SLAMS REPORTING ABOUT HER DAD’S MENTAL ACUITY AS ‘DISRESPECTFUL AND UNTRUE’
“I kept telling Ash, we’ve got to open up the church and practice walking up and down the aisle so I can handle it,” former President Joe Biden, who was vice president at the time, told People, saying he expected to be emotional at the ceremony.
“This is the right guy. And he’s getting a helluva woman,” the former president said at the time. Biden met her husband through her late brother Beau Biden and started dating him in 2010.
She mentioned her wedding when she introduced the former president at the Democratic National Convention last year.
“At the time, my dad was vice president, but he was also that dad who literally set up the entire reception,” she said. “He was riding around in his John Deere 4-wheeler, fixing the place settings, arranging the plants, and by the way, he was very emotional.”
She added, “Before he walked me down the aisle, he turned to me and said he would always be my best friend. All these years later, Dad, you are still my best friend.”

‘Parents – not union bosses’ in charge: Trump delivers historic education victory
On Independence Day, President Donald Trump signed into law the most consequential federal school choice legislation in our nation’s history, declaring educational freedom as a new right for students and families across America. This landmark legislation, a part of the One, Big, Beautiful Bill Act, will help get American education back on track and improve opportunities for generations of Americans to come.
Quality education is foundational to success; it is the key to unlocking the American dream, and as Tim Scott rightly says, the closest thing to magic in America.
For too long, however, parents have been forced to accept a one-size-fits-all approach to education that often does not work, and which has failed millions of students across decades. Those failures disproportionately affect low-income and minority families, whose children are frequently trapped in failing schools with no alternatives.
It is a system that led to test scores that lag the rest of the world, poor literacy rates, too many children giving up and dropping out of school – and ultimately, a failure to properly educate our rising generation.
HOW TRUMP’S ‘BIG, BEAUTIFUL BILL’ ENDS DECADES OF TEMPORARY TAX POLICY GAMES IN WASHINGTON
The consequences of academic failure are far more consequential than just failing a grade. Poor academic performance dramatically increases the likelihood of poverty, incarceration, joblessness and drug abuse. When a kid doesn’t achieve his or her potential, it hurts society. It hurts us all.
It was long past time for Washington to act – and we did so decisively.
Giving parents the ability to choose the school that best meets their child’s individual needs is about more than just test scores – it’s about giving every child a real shot at success.
The One, Big, Beautiful Bill Act establishes the first-of-its-kind tax credit scholarship program for all types of educational settings. Beginning in 2027, individuals will receive a dollar-for-dollar tax credit of up to $1,700 per year for donations to educational nonprofits that fund K-12 scholarships for low- and middle-income students.
Eligible scholarships can cover tuition, books, tutoring, transportation, uniforms, special needs services and educational technology. Parents and students will receive these scholarships tax-free.
TRUMP JUST SCORED THE BIGGEST CONSERVATIVE VICTORY IN THREE DECADES
The result? Tens of billions of dollars for scholarships will be made available to K-12 students all across America. Millions of families will now be able to send their children to a school that aligns with their values and beliefs. Parents will be able to reclaim control of their children’s education.
Thirty states right now have at least one private school choice program currently in effect. The education freedom provision we championed – and President Trump signed into law – now gives every state a choice: will they give new opportunities to students, or will they bow to the demands of the union bosses?
Sadly, every single Democrat in Congress voted against the most important civil rights legislation of the 21st century. But President Trump and the Republican Congress delivered.
It was our responsibility to fix a broken system. Our own parents worked hard and sacrificed to give us opportunities they never had. And we want the same – and more – for today’s children.
As a nation, the truth is we more. We cannot remain the most prosperous, entrepreneurial, groundbreaking nation on Earth if we fail to set our children up for success.

By creating multiple pathways to high-quality education, we ensure that no child remains trapped in an unsafe or failing school. Millions of low- and middle-income students of all races and backgrounds will now benefit enormously from billions in new scholarships. And new hope and opportunity.
The right education can change the course of a child’s life. We know this. Our Founding Fathers knew this. And now, every child in America has the right to access an excellent education – regardless of race, income, or zip code.
Ten, 20, 30 years from now, we will look back at this groundbreaking school choice provision as the single most important part of the One, Big, Beautiful Bill.

Now parents – not union bosses – will control their children’s educational freedom.
Advancing President Trump’s pro-family, pro-student agenda marks the beginning of a historic era – one that uplifts students, empowers families, overcomes poverty, and secures a brighter, freer future for generations to come.

Texas Dems crack, confirm return to state after fleeing to block redistricting: report
Texas House Democrats have reportedly confirmed they intend to return to their state after fleeing in an attempt to halt legislative proceedings, which included GOP attempts to redraw congressional districts in the state.
Multiple sources confirmed to ABC 13 Houston on Tuesday that the absent House Democrats will return to the Lone Star State after feeling like they accomplished their mission of killing the special legislative session called by Republicans to pass redistricting legislation. The special session expires next Tuesday.
The outlet reported the exact time of the Democrats’ return to the capital in Austin is not clear.
TEXAS GOP SEEKS TO ‘DOMESTICATE’ ROGUE DEMS FOR BREAKING QUORUM THROUGH NATIONWIDE CIVIL ARREST WARRANTS
News of the lawmakers’ imminent return to the state comes on the same day that Texas Senate Republicans were able to get the new congressional maps approved. They must now be passed in the House before Republican Gov. Greg Abbott can sign them into law.
Earlier this week, Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick and Republican House Speaker Dustin Burrows indicated they would adjourn the special legislative session this Friday if Democrats had not returned by then.
ABBOTT VOWS INDEFINITE SPECIAL SESSIONS, SAYS FLEEING DEMS COULD FACE ARREST ‘FOR LITERALLY YEARS’
Meanwhile, Abbott has signaled plans to immediately call a second consecutive special session and has teased that he may also add additional agenda items.
The strategy by Texas Democrats to leave the state and abdicate their duties in an effort to stall Republican legislative efforts is a strategy they have used before.
In 2021, more than 50 Texas Democrats left the state for the nation’s capital in an effort to stall Republican election security legislation following President Donald Trump’s 2020 election loss.

The effort led to Abbott ultimately calling three consecutive special legislative sessions, with the election security bill passing during the second one in August.
DC police chief ripped for ‘mind-blowing’ response to basic policing question
Washington, D.C., Metropolitan Police Department Chief Pamela Smith is facing backlash and mockery on social media after she appeared to not understand a question from the media about the department’s “chain of command” amid President Donald Trump’s recent federalization of the department.
“Can you tell us what the chain of command is now?” a reporter was heard asking Smith during a press conference Tuesday morning.
“What does that mean?” the police chief responded.
“Well, is it Pam Bondi speaking to the mayor? Is it you? How does this work?” the reporter continued, before Bowser stepped in to explain the department’s chain of command following Trump invoking section 740 of the District of Columbia Home Rule Act Monday, which allows the president to assume emergency control of the capital’s police force.
FBI DIRECTOR KASH PATEL BACKS TRUMP’S DC POLICE TAKEOVER: ‘WHEN YOU LET GOOD COPS BE COPS, THEY DELIVER’
The exchange came amid Bowser’s brief press conference Tuesday morning following her meeting with Attorney General Pam Bondi.
“Our organizational chart, how we do business, how we fund the police, none of that has changed,” Bowser explained, adding that Bondi is working as Trump’s “proxy” under the federalization order and that the pair are in close communication.

“We have more police, and we want to make sure we use them,” she added.
The exchange of Smith appearing to not understand the reporter’s question on the department’s “chain of command” sparked mockery and backlash online Tuesday afternoon.
“This is who is in charge of the police in D.C...” popular conservative X account Libs of TikTok posted of the exchange.
“This is why DEI is a disease,” National Co-Chair of the RNC Youth Advisory Council CJ Pearson posted to X in response to the exchange.
Smith previously served as the department’s first chief equity officer, where she “led the department’s efforts on diversity, equity and inclusion,” according to her biography.

“WTF! The DC Police Chief doesn’t even know what Chain of Command means,” another conservative X account posted in response.
“Smith previously served as the Police Department’s “Chief Equity Officer,'” the Trump War Room account posted to X.
“MIND BLOWING: D.C. police chief reveals she DOES NOT KNOW what chain of command is. Folks, this is the Washington, D.C. POLICE Chief,” another critic posted.
“NEW: Washington DC Police Chief Pamela A. Smith doesn’t know what the ‘chain of command’ means. … Yikes,” Trending Politics co-owner Collin Rugg posted.
Fox News Digital reached out to the Metropolitan Police Department and Bowser’s office for comment on the exchange and subsequent backlash, but did not immediately receive replies.
TRUMP ACTIVATES NATIONAL GUARD TROOPS TO ADDRESS ‘TOTALLY OUT OF CONTROL’ CRIME IN WASHINGTON
Trump federalized the D.C. police department following a spate of high-profile attacks and killings in the city in recent weeks, including the fatal shooting of a congressional intern in June, the fatal shooting of a pair of Israeli embassy staffers in May, and a brutal attack on a former Department of Government Efficiency staffer earlier in August.
“Our capital city has been overtaken by violent gangs and bloodthirsty criminals, roving mobs of wild youth, drugged-out maniacs and homeless people,” he said. “And we’re not going to let it happen anymore. We’re not going to take it.”

Trump declared it was “Liberation Day in D.C.,” adding, “We’re going to take our capital back.”
“We’re taking it back under the authority vested in me as the president of the United States. I’m officially invoking section 740 of the District of Columbia Home Rule Act. You know what that is. And placing the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department under direct federal control. … In addition, I’m deploying the National Guard to help reestablish law, order and public safety in Washington, D.C. And they’re going to be allowed to do their job properly,” he said Monday.
European allies send ‘blunt message’ before Trump’s high-stakes Putin summit
This Friday’s high-stakes meeting between President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin in Alaska could bring real relief to Ukraine – but only if it stays laser-focused on one goal: an enforceable ceasefire. No redraw of the map. No “land for peace” concessions that reward Moscow’s aggression and punish Ukrainian sovereignty.
A United Front
Over the weekend, Vice President JD Vance convened a secure call with European and Ukrainian officials. The message from allied capitals was blunt: halt the fighting first, then negotiate the rest – without giving up an inch of Ukrainian land. European leaders have repeated it publicly: “Peace cannot be decided without Ukraine”.
Why Now Matters
On the ground, the war’s toll is rising. Russia is pushing hard in Donetsk and Luhansk, pounding civilian infrastructure and displacing thousands. Ukrainian officials report hundreds of daily clashes, rising casualties, and failing power and water systems. A ceasefire won’t end the war, but it would stop the bloodshed and open humanitarian corridors.
Putin Under Pressure
Putin’s motives are mixed. He wants the optics of meeting a U.S. president on neutral ground. He wants to test Trump’s red lines. But his economy is straining, his elites are restless and ordinary Russians are tired of a costly war. The looming U.S. secondary sanctions on Russian oil exporters, shipping insurers and tankers – if enforced with Europe – could fracture his revenue lifeline.
TRUMP MEETS PUTIN AMID AN ERA DONE AWAY WITH JOHN QUINCY ADAMS’ ‘ABROAD’
The Risk – and the Fix
Critics warn a ceasefire could give Russia breathing space to rearm. They’re right – if it’s toothless. Strict enforcement is needed: deploy OSCE monitors within 48 hours, use satellite imagery and signals intelligence to track violations, and implement automatic snap-back sanctions for breaches. Compliance should be visible and indisputable.
Why Alaska?
The venue is not an accident. Alaska is remote, symbolic and equally inconvenient – a neutral stage that avoids home-field advantage for either leader. Its history as U.S. territory purchased from Russia adds a certain symmetry.

The Day After the Ceasefire
Any truce must lead somewhere. The next step is a credible security framework for Ukraine – NATO membership or a coalition defense pact – paired with reconstruction aid. The “Coalition of the Willing” led by Britain and France is already planning a peacekeeping presence to enforce any ceasefire.
The Human Factor
This is not just geopolitics – it’s human lives. Families sheltering underground. Children uprooted from schools. Veterans maimed for life. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy put it bluntly: “Concessions do not convince a killer”.
Will Putin Come?
Yes. He wants the spotlight, the appearance of parity and relief from mounting sanctions. But he will try to reopen territorial talks in the future. That’s why the United States must keep the agenda tight, enforcement credible and Ukraine fully represented in any next phase.

America’s Playbook for Alaska
- Secure a verifiable ceasefire – monitors in place within two days.
- Tie sanctions relief to compliance – automatic reinstatement if Russia cheats.
- Keep Ukraine at the table – no deals about its territory without its consent.
- Signal long-term deterrence – NATO or equivalent guarantees in plain view.
Bottom Line
The Alaska summit should be remembered as the day the guns fell silent – not as the day Western resolve crumbled. A ceasefire-first approach, backed by enforcement and leverage, is not weakness. It’s principled, America-first diplomacy. And it’s the only way to stop the killing without surrendering the map.

Singer halts show to call a mom out over ‘irresponsible’ act with baby at concert
Maluma stopped his concert in Mexico City over the weekend to scold a mother who brought her baby to the packed show without the proper ear protection.
The Colombian rapper, whose legal name is José Luis Londoño, was in the middle of performing a song when he noticed a mother and a baby in the crowd.
He stopped performing to address the woman’s “irresponsible” act.
In a video uploaded to TikTok, Maluma was seen asking the mother in Spanish how old her baby was. Once she told him her baby’s age, the musician called out the mother in front of the crowd.
KATY PERRY STOPS DETROIT CONCERT AFTER YOUNG FAN COLLAPSES ON STAGE
“Do you think it’s a good idea to bring a 1-year-old baby to a concert where the decibels are this f—ing high? That baby doesn’t even know what it’s doing here,” the rapper said.
“Next time, protect their ears or something. For real. It’s heavy. It’s your responsibility.”
He continued, “Next time, protect their ears or something. For real. It’s heavy. It’s your responsibility.”
Maluma, who is a father to his 1-year-old daughter, continued to address the crowd and explained he would never bring his daughter to a show.
“You’re waving them around like they’re a toy. That baby doesn’t want to be there, for real. I’m telling you with all love and respect, now that I’m a father… would never bring them to a concert. For the next time, be a bit more aware,” he said.
Maluma’s representative did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital’s request for comment.

Fans took to the comment section on TikTok to weigh in on Maluma’s harsh response to the mother.
“I respect this because some people will not understand until they get embarrassed or put on the spot. It’s dangerous to have a one-year-old baby at a concert that anything could happen & she didn’t have any ear protection on the baby either,” one user wrote.
Another added, “Who would even think of taking a baby? If you have a baby and no one to leave it with, then you don’t go. I totally agree with him.”

Some users did not appreciate Maluma’s direct response to the mother.
“Was it necessary to embarrass her while he was receiving applause?” one user commented.
“Even if you’re right about what you’re saying, I don’t think it’s right to shame a parent in front of thousands of people,” another added.
Maluma is currently on his +Pretty +Dirty World Tour, which has dates scheduled across Latin America, the United States and Europe.

Heated NYC mayoral race has runaway leader, new poll reveals
New York City Democratic mayoral nominee Zohran Mamdani maintains a hefty lead in the race, according to a recent Siena poll of registered voters.
Mamdani is polling at 44%, and former Gov. Andrew Cuomo, who’s running as an independent, is at 25%. Republican Curtis Sliwa is at 12%, and incumbent Mayor Eric Adams is at 7%.
“While City Democrats favor Mamdani over Cuomo 53-32%, with single digits for the other two, more than two-thirds of City Republicans support Sliwa. City independent voters are more closely divided, with 30% supporting Mamdani and 20% supporting Adams,” Siena pollster Steven Greenberg said in a press release on Tuesday.
CUOMO OPPONENTS SLAM HIS RE-ENTRY INTO NYC MAYOR RACE, SAY CITY WANTS TO MOVE ON FROM EX GOVERNOR
“City voters under 35 are overwhelmingly supporting Mamdani, as are a plurality of voters 35-54, however, voters 55 and older back Cuomo over Mamdani, 38-32%,” he added.
“Mamdani, included in the Siena poll for the first time, has a 46-32% favorability rating with New York City voters and a negative 28-37% favorability rating among voters statewide,” Greenberg continued.
However, the pollster said that Cuomo, who resigned as governor and then lost the Democratic primary to Mamdani, is facing serious favorability issues.
“Cuomo has an underwater favorability rating with City voters, 37-54%, and an even worse 29-61% favorability rating with statewide voters, the worst ever favorability rating for Cuomo in a Siena poll. In fact, among Democrats statewide, Cuomo’s favorability rating is 36-56%, down from 51-39% in March,” he said.
CUOMO, ADAMS TRADE SHOTS OVER WHO SHOULD DROP OUT IN RACE AGAINST MAMDANI FOR NYC MAYOR
Adams, who opted to pursue the race as an independent, is also facing favorability woes, according to the poll. The mayor was indicted by the Department of Justice last year on bribery, conspiracy and campaign finance charges, but the case was later dropped. Adams has presented himself as a pro-law enforcement alternative to Mamdani, especially after the 345 Park Avenue office shooting last month.
“Adams is also underwater with voters in the City, 30-58%, statewide 22-51%, and among Democrats statewide 22-59%,” Greenberg said. “Sliwa has a 26-30% statewide favorability rating, and 30-42% in the City.”
The recent poll comes as the nation’s eyes remain on the race, as Mamdani’s win was seen as an upset against Cuomo, and the Democratic nominee has pushed several far-left policies. Currently, Mamdani is doing an anti-Trump tour across the city.
“There is no borough that will be free from Trump’s cruelty,” Mamdani said on Monday. “We will feel the pain of this legislation, whether we are in Manhattan, Brooklyn, the Bronx, Queens or Staten Island, and we will shine a light this week and every week on the costs of this vision that is coming out of Washington, D.C.”
MAMDANI’S PRIMARY WIN EXPOSES DEMOCRAT DIVIDE AS TOP LEADERS WITHHOLD ENDORSEMENTS
Although some Democrats have held back on publicly supporting Mamdani, others, such as Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., and Rep. Jerry Nadler, D-NY., have been campaigning for him.
Cuomo, Adams, and Sliwa have taken aim at Mamdani on a variety of issues, including policing and rent control. Cuomo is even pitching “Zohran’s Law” after it came out that Mamdani lives in a rent-stabilized apartment.

“Rent-stabilized apartments when they’re vacant should only be rented to people who need affordable housing, not people like Zohran Mamdani,” Cuomo told reporters in a video posted on social media on Sunday.
“We must remember that Andrew Cuomo has spent more time talking about my apartment than asking why so many New Yorkers are being forced out of theirs. He has spent more time criticizing me than he has in criticizing the legislation that Donald Trump has passed,” Mamdani fired back on Tuesday.
The election is on Nov. 4, which makes it one of the few major off-year elections.
Cincinnati officials demand charges for White man in viral downtown assault
Cincinnati leaders are reportedly calling on members of local government to bring charges against a White man seen slapping a Black man during a viral confrontation that left six injured and led to seven arrests in late July.
In a public discussion hosted by Ohio state Rep. Cecil Thomas on Monday, community members met to discuss concerns over the city’s handling of the investigation into the fight, WLWT reported.
“The video speaks for itself,” Thomas said, according to the outlet. “The method by which this situation has been handled raises serious questions as to whether there is bias involved in this investigation. It also brings into question the lack of integrity and whether there is something else to hide.”
SEVENTH CINCINNATI ASSAULT SUSPECT ARRESTED OVER VIOLENT BEATDOWN
Additional footage of the assault obtained by WLWT shows the unidentified White man allegedly hitting a Black man in the face, leading to several others joining in on the beatdown that ultimately left six people injured.
A separate video obtained by Fox News Digital depicts a White man repeatedly using a racial slur toward the group in the moments before the fight.
The update comes over two weeks after the incident broke out on the corner of Fourth and Elm streets in the early morning hours of July 26.
CINCINNATI VIRAL BEATING BODYCAM RELEASED AS SUSPECTS FACE NEW CHARGES IN GRAND JURY INDICTMENT
Last week, a grand jury indicted Patrick Rosemond, 38, Jermaine Matthews, 39, Montianez Merriweather, 34, DeKyra Vernon, 24, Dominique Kittle, 37, and Aisha Devaughn, 25, on three counts of alleged felonious assault, three charges of assault and two charges of aggravated rioting, the Hamilton County Prosecutor’s Office confirmed to Fox News Digital.
If convicted, they each face the possibility of up to 29 years in prison.
A seventh individual, 32-year-old Gregory Wright, was arrested Monday afternoon and is facing charges of alleged aggravated riot and aggravated robbery, according to the Hamilton County Jail.
CINCINNATI BRAWL TIMELINE: BRUTAL ASSAULT SPIRALS INTO NATIONAL FIRESTORM
All seven suspects are Black, sparking questions from local leaders about the investigation and why the White man has not been charged.
“Our community is restless, and they’re watching,” Pastor Leslie Jones said, according to WLWT. “Since you don’t think young people vote, old folks do. And they have told me they know how to vote, they know how to answer. If you don’t prosecute this gentleman – and we’re not talking about – we’re demanding prosecution in the next 24 hours.”
Additionally, Cincinnati Mayor Aftab Pureval told WLWT that any decisions regarding additional charges will be “made as soon as possible.”

“I agree with everyone’s frustration,” Pureval said, according to the outlet. “I have been clear about my expectations that, in order to preserve both public safety and fairness, anyone involved in perpetrating the violence should be charged. Until all participants are held accountable, justice hasn’t been fully served. And I’m grateful that community leaders and residents are continuing to come together to make their expectations clear.”
The mayor’s office and Rep. Thomas did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital’s request for comment.
Hand soaps recalled over bacteria that could lead to ‘life-threatening sepsis’
Several hand soaps, cleansers and antiseptics have been voluntarily recalled over a bacteria contamination that could lead to “life-threatening sepsis.”
DermaRite Industries recalled its DermaKleen antiseptic lotion soap with vitamin E in 1,000-milliliter and 800-milliliter sizes, KleenFoam antibacterial foam soap with aloe vera in 1,000-milliliter sizes, DermaSarra external analgesic in 7.5-ounce sizes and PeriGiene antiseptic cleanser in 7.5-ounce sizes.
The products were distributed across the U.S. and Puerto Rico.
Products impacted by the recall have expiration dates from July of this year to February 2027.

The company said the products were found to contain Burkholderia cepacia complex, a bacterium that could lead to “serious and life-threatening infections,” although it said it has not received any reports of adverse events in connection with the recall.
“Burkholderia Cepacia Complex in these products may result in serious and life-threatening infections,” the company said in a press release. “The contaminated products may be used by immunosuppressed individuals or by people attending to immunosuppressed individuals.”
“In healthy individuals with minor skin lesions the use of the product will more likely result in local infections, whereas in immunocompromised individuals the infection is more likely to spread into the blood stream leading to life-threatening sepsis,” the company continued.
DermaRite has notified its distributors and customers to “immediately examine available inventory and destroy all affected products in accordance with each facility’s process.”
Burkholderia cepacia, also referred to as B. cepacia or Bcc, is a group of bacteria that often spreads through soil and water, as well as to contaminated surfaces and products and through person-to-person contact, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
