Idaho killer’s prison life turns into nightmare as inmates ‘join forces’ against him

Idaho student murderer Bryan Kohberger is facing taunts from other inmates as he adjusts to his new life in prison, weeks after receiving four consecutive sentences of life without parole, plus another 10 years, according to a new report.

The 30-year-old former Washington State University criminology Ph.D. student abruptly pleaded guilty to the murders of four undergrads at the nearby University of Idaho last month – Madison Mogen, 21, Kaylee Goncalves, 21, Xana Kernodle, 20, and Ethan Chapin, 20.

The deal allowed him to avoid the potential death penalty – which prosecutors said they intended to seek if the case went to trial.

BRYAN KOHBERGER TRANSFERRED TO MAXIMUM SECURITY STATE PRISON

According to the Idaho Department of Corrections, Kohberger is being housed on “J Block” inside the Idaho Maximum Security Institution outside Boise.

J Block is a secure housing unit with individual cells, according to the Idaho Department of Corrections. Inmates there are typically high-risk prisoners and are limited to one-hour of outdoor exercise a day and face other restrictions. They get access to the showers every other day.

I have no doubt he’s contemplating suicide already because he’s not even a month in, and he’s losing control. Most serial killers tend to be control freaks.

— Keith Rovere, former prison minister and host of “The Lighter Side of True Crime”

“J Block is a unit that can house up to 128 individuals and includes populations in general population protective custody, long-term restrictive housing, and death row,” a spokesperson told Fox News Digital. “Incarcerated individuals in long-term restrictive housing live in single-person cells, are moved in restraints, and are provided showers every other day along with one hour of outdoor recreation daily. They have access to religious services, communication through JPay, and can place commissary orders.”

IDAHO VICTIMS’ FAMILIES TO ADDRESS KILLER DIRECTLY AT KOHBERGER SENTENCING

But while the killer may be physically separated from other lifers, they are reportedly tormenting him to the point where he has complained to prison guards about the abuse, according to the Daily Mail.

“They are literally getting up into the grate and yelling at him,” Chris McDonough, a former detective who is now with the Cold Case foundation, told the outlet. “The inmates are taking it in turns doing it. It’s relentless.”

The account, based on comments from an unnamed “insider” in touch with McDonough alleges that other J Block inmates have “joined forces” to make killer Kohberger’s life hell in his cell.

BRYAN KOHBERGER TRADED DEATH PENALTY FOR LIFE SENTENCE THAT COULD STILL END VIOLENTLY BEHIND BARS

“It’s driving him crazy,” he told the outlet. “The inmates are tormenting him at night and almost all hours of the day – taunting him through the vents in his cell.”

The Pennsylvania native entered Idaho prison with a target on his back, experts previously told Fox News Digital, due to the notoriety of the crime and the callous selection of victims, whom he had no known ties to.

“I think he’ll have a target on his back – child molesters, rapists and woman beaters get smashed, and he’ll be stereotyped like that,” Seth Ferranti, a former most wanted fugitive turned documentarian, said after sentencing.

“When guys with big cases or who were in the headlines hit the compound, everybody knows,” said Ferranti, whose most recent project, “A Tortured Mind,” explores a mental health condition Kohberger will never have to worry about called post-incarceration syndrome.

IDAHO MURDERER BRYAN KOHBERGER’S FORMER FRIENDS DIVE INTO KILLER’S MINDSET ABOUT WHY HE DID IT

Now Kohberger is reportedly complaining to guards that he can’t sleep amid all the harassment.

“He’s lucky it’s only verbal abuse right now, but what’s going to make it a lot worse for him is that he’s complaining,” Keith Rovere, a former prison pastor, told Fox News Digital. “You can’t do that in prison. You stay silent and keep your mouth shut.”

Otherwise, Kohberger risks becoming labeled a “rat,” according “The Lighter Side of True Crime” podcast host.

“You have a problem with it, you fight back,” he said. “Complaining to the guards is ratting. Now they know they’re getting under your skin so they’re only going to ramp it up even more.”

And this is just his reaction to verbal abuse, he added.

“I have no doubt he’s contemplating suicide already because he’s not even a month in, and he’s losing control,” Rovere added. “Most serial killers tend to be control freaks. Throw autism on top of that and the chaos that the inmates are causing him is making him lose his mind. And it’s only going to get worse.”

Kohberger, while not fitting the textbook definition of a serial killer, is still a mass murderer who studied serial killers extensively as part of his graduate degree in criminology.

The killer is reputed to be lacking in social skills – illustrated by what his attorneys called a “piercing stare” and lack of social awareness in court filings. Over the past two and a half years of confinement, he appears to have lost some weight, too.

According to documents made public by the Moscow Police Department in Idaho, Kohberger also has a track record of bumping heads with his fellow inmates. On one occasion, Kohberger turned away from a video chat with his mom to snap at another inmate who yelled “you suck” at a jailhouse TV set. Another inmate described him as a “f—ing weirdo” and claimed he would have assaulted him if he wasn’t worried about repercussions.

Another infamous J Block resident is fellow convicted killer Chad Daybell, who is on death row for the murders of his ex-wife, Tammy Daybell, and the children of his next wife, Lori Vallow Daybell, 7-year-old JJ Vallow and 16-year-old Tylee Ryan.

There’s no indication whether Daybell may have been involved in any alleged harassment of Kohberger.

Mamdani’s radical policies show up in scathing ad that could be nightmare for Dems

FIRST ON FOX: The National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) is rolling out a new ad tying the policies of “radical” Democrats, like New York City socialist mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani, to the future outlook of the Democratic Party.

The new message, targeting 25 vulnerable House Democrats across the country with a modest ad buy on digital platforms, hammers the party on “Project 2026” and outlines what the Republicans say Democrats will offer voters in the midterms.

“Hakeem Jeffries’ plan to remake America,” the ad says. “Raise taxes on working families, impeach President Trump.”

The ad then plays a clip of Democratic House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries saying, “Donald Trump must be removed from office” and Dem. Rep. Dina Titus saying, “I’d like to impeach the bastard right now.”

SENATE DEMOCRATS ARE FEVERISHLY RECRUITING TOP CANDIDATES TO WIN BACK MAJORITY IN 2026 MIDTERMS

The ad then claims Democrats want to “open the border” and “restart the invasion” of illegal immigrants that came into the country during the Biden administration, before quoting two Democrats, Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Gabe Vasquez, calling to abolish ICE and defund the police.

“They riot, they loot,” the ad continues before showing two clips of Mamdani saying “we are unapologetic about our socialism” and promoting the “abolition of private property.”

Jeffries then says in a clip, “Chip at it aggressively until we can unravel the whole system.”

The ad closes by claiming that Democrats want to “turn America into a socialist, crime-filled dystopia” before airing a clip from Jeffries saying, “We’re gonna take back America and it starts today”

DEMS SUGGEST GOP REDISTRICTING HAS FORCED THEM TO PLAY PARTISAN POLITICS, REPUBLICANS ARGUE NOTHING’S CHANGED

The ad closes with, “Are you going to let them?”

The list of vulnerable elected officials targeted by the ad includes Democratic Reps. Tom Suozzi of New York, Marcy Kaptur of Ohio, Emilia Sykes of Ohio, Eugene Vindman of Virginia, Marie Gluesenkamp Perez of Washington, Frank Mrvan of Indiana and others.

“This is the America Democrats want to build: Raising taxes for working families, baseless impeachments, wide open borders, abolishing ICE, defunding the police, and turning America into a socialist, crime-filled dystopia,” NRCC spokesman Mike Marinella told Fox News Digital. “House Republicans are the only thing standing between you and the nightmare of ‘Project 2026.’”

The NRCC released a memo on Tuesday morning in which it knocked Jeffries for failing to meet a self-imposed deadline to roll out a new vision for America with a Democratic-controlled House.

The Hill reported in April that Jeffries committed that “over these next 100 days, House Democrats are going to lay out a blueprint for a better America. And you will see a vision for this country’s future that isn’t about Donald Trump. It’s all about you.”

With those 100 days having already elapsed, the NRCC published a satirical memo titled “Project 2026,” in which they accused the Democrats of being out of step with the American people.

In response, Viet Shelton, a spokesperson for the DCCC, fired back at the messaging from the NRCC.

“House Republicans have done nothing to improve the lives of everyday Americans,” Shelton said.

“It’s no wonder they’re desperately attempting to distract from their disastrous record of higher costs for working families and ripping away health care from millions while giving tax breaks to the wealthiest few. Poll after poll shows voters across the country are fed up with their billionaire-first agenda and are going to reject them next year.”

Florida sheriff says he’s ‘unleashed the teeth of the dog’ after viral lakeside brawl

A Florida sheriff tore into a group of rowdy boaters after a massive, caught-on-video lakeside brawl left families and children stunned.

Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd, known for his tough talking and zero-tolerance messaging, ripped into the group after a chaotic video showed the punches flying at Lake Winterset, with one person left knocked out on the grass while a woman frantically performed CPR on him.

Seconds later, one man sucker-punches another partygoer, sending him flying headfirst into the water, as another man then jumps on top of him and lets loose with a flurry of follow-up punches. In the video, a young girl in a boat can be seen looking on.

SOCIAL MEDIA-FUELED TEEN FLASH MOBS PROMPT CLOSURES OF BUSINESSES AND PUBLIC CENTERS NATIONWIDE

Judd said that unruly behavior has been an ongoing problem on the lake and despite repeated warnings, he said that law enforcement is going to clamp down heavily on future infractions.

“If you want to go knuckle-busting and create permanent brain injuries or the ability to have a permanent brain injury… you have to do it on your own property without creating a disturbance to your neighbors,” Judd said at a Tuesday press briefing.

“It’s over folks… the conduct is reprehensible,” Judd said. “And obviously you don’t believe us when we try to warn you so you have unleashed the teeth of the dog and now we’re going to start biting you, just like we bit these guys here.”

All eight arrested are in their late teens or early 20s, except for Richard Carden, who is 40 years old, Judd said. The other individuals arrested were Mason Land, Nate Land, Payton Ely, Timothy Gooding, Richard Carden, Garrett Ore, Garrett Hiltabidel and an unidentified 17-year-old.

They all face charges for rioting, affray, trespassing and disorderly conduct, according to the sheriff’s office.

Judd said the people arrested were part of two groups that used to be friends. Back in March, there was a fight at a local bar called El Rodeo Bar which led to criminal charges against some individuals.

Some in the group resented those charges and Judd even mentioned law enforcement is looking into possible tampering with evidence.

The groups clashed on the water over the weekend and started yelling at each other before it escalated into a physical fight onshore.

Judd said that boaters are constantly violating trespassing laws in the area despite clear signs on properties.

He tied trespassing to the brawl location, describing how offenders use a loophole by standing in the water adjacent to private property, then climbing onto land to fight, party, or commit indecent acts.

“You put one toe on that land this weekend, you’re going to jail. You stand in the water and put your finger up on that dry land, and you’re going to go to jail.”

“Go home and get your bond money together right now… Carry it in your pocket. It’ll help you get out of jail quicker.”

Judd said that music-blaring boaters have been part of the ongoing disruption problem at Lake Winterset. He said that there isn’t currently a noise ordinance covering boats but that they plan to work with the county to change that.

Former MSNBC host warns Democrats ‘falling into the trap’ with Trump’s crime plan

Former MSNBC host Chris Matthews said Wednesday that the Democratic Party was “falling into a trap of defending what’s indefensible” in reacting to President Donald Trump‘s plan to address crime in Washington D.C.

MSNBC “Morning Joe” host Mika Brzezinski asked Matthews about the politics of Trump’s announcement, describing it as a political win for Trump before adding, “I think that the Democrats need to go beyond saying, ‘No, look at the data, crime is going down.’ I feel that is exactly the wrong response politically, even if it’s true.”

Trump announced on Monday that he was activating approximately 800 National Guard troops and taking control of the Metropolitan Police Department to tackle crime in DC.

Matthews criticized Trump for the Jan. 6 riots but said the move was about the president showing strength, before explaining that he lives in D.C. and added that homelessness and graffiti were evident despite it being a beautiful city.

MSNBC HOST REVEALS DC JOURNALIST PRIVATELY SHARED CONCERNS ABOUT CRIME WHILE PUBLICLY DENOUNCING TRUMP’S PLAN

“Trump looks at the city visually like a real estate agent. He wants to beautify the city like he’s doing at the White House with that ridiculous ballroom he’s putting in and getting rid of the Rose Garden. That’s Trump work,” Matthews said. “But I think it shows strength… I think this is a strength move against the big cities who are in a difficult situation on crime. And the murder rate, you can’t keep saying violent crime is down with the murder rates up. To the average person, the murders are about life and death. You don’t brag about a rising murder rate. And the Democrats are, I agree with you, Mika, they’re falling into the trap of defending what’s indefensible.”

Brzezinksi agreed and said it was a “trap.”

“Yes, it’s a trap. If it’s not a winner politically to say, ‘Oh, you’re wrong, look at the data,’ because you know if one violent crime happens in a very heavily populated part of the city, people hear about it and it’s visceral. They don’t want it. And they’ll gravitate to the person who appears to be doing something about it,” Brzezinski said.

DC ATTORNEY GENERAL BRIAN SCHWALB SLAMS TRUMP’S FEDERAL TAKEOVER, BREAKING WITH POLICE UNION

Matthews recently praised Trump for his political skill during an interview on Charlie Rose’s podcast.

“He’s very good at knowing your condition, your worries, your insecurities. I mean, he’d be a great bully in a grade school, a Catholic high school or grade school. I mean, he’d be the scariest bully because he’d know everybody’s weakness. But he’s really good at the moment. I mean, he’s out there watching television and keeping up, and, ‘Is this the right thing to do, what we’re doing right now?’” Matthews told Rose. “Biden couldn’t do that in a million years, not a million years.”

Potential felony bribery charges loom for Texas Dems who took money to flee state

Texas Democrats who fled the state to break quorum and disrupt redistricting efforts could face felony bribery charges, Republican Governor Greg Abbott suggested in an interview with Fox News Digital.

As some AWOL Democrats are reportedly planning to return in time for a second special legislative session to begin next week, Abbott told Fox News Digital that the state is looking into whether they violated laws against bribery by taking money to break quorum.

“There had been some identification of some people paying for it,” Abbott explained. “I’ve got to tell you, it raises a serious legal question for these officeholders, and that is, they were promised money if they did break quorum. That would be a bribe that could lead to a felony charge.”

According to Abbott, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, also a Republican, is investigating whether the Democratic lawmakers could be hit with felony bribery charges.

“That also is something that the Texas attorney general is investigating and actually even got a temporary injunction from a court stopping any more money being given to these House members because of the potential bribe consequences,” the governor explained.

GOV. ABBOT STILL BEAT NEWSOM IN DISASTER RELIEF DESPITE TEXAS DEMOCRATS STALLING, HIDING OUT

This comes after Tarrant County District Judge Megan Fahey handed down a temporary restraining order last Friday against Robert Francis “Beto” O’Rourke and his group, Powered by People, over alleged “unlawful fundraising practices” tied to efforts to support Texas Democrats who fled the state — including funding air travel, lodging, logistics and daily fines.

Fahey’s order bars O’Rourke or his group from continuing to fundraise or provide financial support to the fleeing Texas Democrats.

In the order, Fahey wrote that “defendants have and will continue to engage in unlawful fundraising practices and utilization of political funds in a manner that either directly violates or causes Texas Democratic Legislators to violate [the law]” and that contributors to the group “have and continue to suffer irreparable harm through these unlawful acts because they are making political contributions that are being used to fund personal expenses and violate state law.”

In light of this, Abbott warned that “these House numbers are going to be facing not just the challenges of having to come back in deal with the consequences of their failure to be here but also deal with potential bribery charges against them.”

TEXAS GOP SEEKS TO ‘DOMESTICATE’ ROGUE DEMS FOR BREAKING QUORUM THROUGH NATIONWIDE CIVIL ARREST WARRANTS

The redistricting bill that has Democrats in an uproar was passed by the Texas Senate on Tuesday. If eventually passed by both chambers of the Texas legislature and signed into law by Abbott, Texas’ new districting map will give Republicans an estimated five additional seats in Congress. Now, all that stands in the way are the rogue House Democrats.

Abbott said he has Texas law enforcement “scouring the streets of Texas right now to identify whether or not there are any Democrats remaining in the state of Texas.”

“If they are, they will be arrested and taken to the Texas Capitol to try to make quorum,” he said.

“There are 88 Republicans who are ready and able to work. We need 12 Democrats to show up. So, we’re looking for 12 Democrats in the state of Texas, or if they’re all out of state, we’re looking to identify them and as you point out, using federal officials and others to assist us in that effort,” he said.

Abbott has faced heavy criticism from Democratic leaders and other governors from across the political aisle for not backing down on Texas’ redistricting plans.

O’ROURKE, SOROS-LINKED GROUPS FACE CALL FOR DOJ PROBE OVER ALLEGED FUNDING OF TEXAS DEM WALKOUT

On Monday, California Democratic Governor Gavin Newsom called on President Donald Trump to “call Greg Abbott and tell him to stand down.”

You are not ‘entitled’ to 5 congressional seats. If you do not call your lapdogs off, CA will act quickly and swiftly. We will go to the ballot. We will neutralize whatever gains you make. We will not stand by while you light Democracy on fire,” said Newsom.

In another X post by Newsom’s official press office page, the governor appeared to mimic Trump’s idiosyncratic style of using all-caps and superlatives for many of his posts, writing, “CALIFORNIA WILL NOW DRAW NEW, MORE ‘BEAUTIFUL MAPS,’ THEY WILL BE HISTORIC AS THEY WILL END THE TRUMP PRESIDENCY (DEMS TAKE BACK THE HOUSE!).”

The post said Newsom would be holding a press conference this week on the matter and that it “WILL BE DEVASTATING FOR ‘MAGA.’”

Abbott, however, said he remains unfazed by such attacks from Democrats.

“Listen, these Democrats in other states are just completely out of control,” he told Fox News Digital. “They’ve been engaged in gerrymandering for decades in California, Illinois, New York, and elsewhere, and what they have lost touch with is the people.”

He pointed out that Texas’ redistricting plans are within legal parameters, explaining, “What’s happened here is that the law changed in the state of Texas last year that authorized the state to be able to redraw these lines because of a legal change that doesn’t require coalition districts.”

“So, we’re able to draw these districts in way in which representatives are going to be lining up with the values of voters of the state of Texas,” he said, adding, “What we’re doing in our state is to make sure that we are going to have the districts represented by people who actually represent these voters.”

Residents’ fury over soaring energy bills could hit Democrats in 2026 election

New Jersey residents are facing huge spikes in energy costs this year, and rising outrage is leading to speculation that it could cost the state’s Democratic leaders in upcoming elections.

Most New Jersey households were hit with a 17-20% rate hike starting in June, approved by New Jersey’s Board of Public Utilities. Garden State residents who spoke with Fox News correspondent CB Cotton expressed shock and confusion when they saw their new rates at the end of last month.

“$200 more, I know my electrical bill,” one woman told Cotton in Rutherford, N.J., on Tuesday. “I was shocked. So to say the least, I’m very disappointed. This is killing us, and every time you turn around it’s something more. You only get little pleasures in life that you enjoy, and my air conditioner is one of them.”

New Jersey’s electric bills currently rank 12th highest in the nation, according to the Wall Street Journal, with prices sitting roughly 15 percent higher than the national average.

FIGHTER JETS SCRAMBLED AFTER CIVILIAN AIRCRAFT VIOLATES TRUMP AIRSPACE AT NEW JERSEY BEDMINSTER

Critics have tied the spike in energy costs in part to Democratic Gov. Phil Murphy’s decision to shut down the state’s nuclear and coal power plants, even without setting up meaningful replacements. Jack Ciattarelli, the Republican candidate seeking to replace Murphy in the 2026 election, has capitalized on the high energy costs as a pain point for Democrats. Murphy himself is term limited from running for office again, but the Democratic nominee in the race, Mikie Sherill, is facing many of the same criticisms.

Ciattarelli has focused on Democrats pushing offshore windfarms and other alternative energy sources that have yet to come to fruition, arguing the party’s shortsightedness has cost New Jersey residents in their wallets.

TRUMP SLAMS GOLDMAN SACHS CEO OVER TARIFF PREDICTIONS: ‘FOCUS ON BEING A DJ’

Sherill has sought to deflect blame to the region’s grid operating company, however, arguing they are “ripping us off and refusing to connect new projects.”

A StimSight Research poll of New Jersey residents released August 5 found that Sherill has a 6-point lead over Ciatarelli.

The November gubernatorial election is among those considered a bellwether for the 2026 midterm elections. Congressional Republicans currently cling onto a razor-thin majority nearly eight months into President Donald Trump’s second term.

With just three months until the general election, Sherrill has 48% support and Ciattarelli has 42% support, according to a StimSight poll. Just 32% of respondents said they were definite about voting for Sherrill and 31% said they were definite about Ciattarelli, suggesting there’s room for movement on either side.

New Jersey voters consider affordability and taxes the top issues in the contest. The poll had 53% of respondents say affordability was the top issue and 43% said it was taxes.

Former Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) clerk Melissa Moorman sued her old employers for allegedly firing her because she reported on co-workers selling driver’s licenses to illegal immigrants.

According to court documents obtained by Fox News Digital, Moorman discovered in 2024 that two co-workers from the Department of Vehicle Regulation were selling documents to “nonresidents” without proper immigration screenings or testing. Her lawyers argued that she knew of the crime after being invited to participate.

“The employees were being paid under the table,” Moorman told WDRB News on Monday. “I immediately let my supervisor know about it.”

She also informed WDRB News that these co-workers would sell licenses for $200 per person approximately four to five times a day, for over two years. Moorman said that every case she encountered involved an illegal immigrant.

BLUE STATES RALLIED FOR ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS TO OBTAIN DRIVER’S LICENSES AHEAD OF TRUMP’S REAL ID CRACKDOWN

After she reported the crime, the co-workers were fired, and a federal investigation was launched into KYTC. Moorman allegedly met with federal investigators in January after learning those employees were using her credentials and log-in information without her knowledge at the time. She has said that she was instructed by her supervisor to provide the employees with this information as they waited for their own credentials when they first started.

KYTC fired Moorman the day of her interview but, according to Moorman’s lawyers, has kept her supervisor despite the “mismanagement, fraud, abuse of authority, and violations of law and statute in which he engaged that Moorman disclosed and reported.”

“I was angry, hurt and depressed,” Moorman told WDRB News. “I did the right thing. I told the truth. I should not have been fired.”

Moorman filed the lawsuit in April, claiming that KYTC violated the Kentucky Whistleblower Act, which protects public whistleblowers who come forward with information about misconduct. She has asked for her job and benefits to be reinstated along with back pay.

OREGON MISTAKENLY REGISTERED NEARLY 1,260 POSSIBLE NONCITIZENS TO VOTE, DMV ADMITS

“It is tragic that the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet chose to terminate the person that uncovered the fact that hundreds, perhaps thousands of undocumented people were provided Kentucky driver’s licenses that they were not qualified to receive,” Moorman’s attorney Garry Adams told Fox News Digital. “The scheme that Melissa Moorman uncovered was putting all Kentuckians that operate or ride in motor vehicles in danger, and she should have been rewarded for her disclosure rather than terminated for it.”

He continued, “This type of behavior where local, state and even federal governments seem to favor sweeping big problems under the rug, rather than disclosing it, addressing it and fixing it has got to stop.”

Fox News Digital reached out to KYTC for comment.

Kentucky law allows non-U.S. citizens to obtain standard driver’s licenses only if they provide proof of residency and valid immigration documentation. Presenting false documents regarding immigration status could be grounds for prosecution.

The Kennedy Center Honors are heating up this year — and Hollywoodcelebritie are at the heart of the buzz.

On Wednesday, President Donald Trump announced the stars set to be honored at the highly anticipated ceremony in December.

The honorees this year are country legend George Strait, Hollywood star Sylvester Stallone, rock band KISS, English actor Michael Crawford and iconic singer Gloria Gaynor, known for her hits, including “I Will Surive” and “The Eye of the Tiger.”

TRUMP AND MELANIA TO HEADLINE POWER-PLAYER PACKED KENNEDY CENTER OPENING NIGHT

Trump, now chairman of the Kennedy Center, ramps up efforts to reshape the honors program — pushing for a glitzier, star-studded celebration.

“The 48th Kennedy Center Honorees are outstanding people, incredible, we can’t wait… in a few short months since I became chairman of the board, the Kennedy Center, we’ve completely reversed the decline of this cherished national institution,” he said in his speech.

When reporters asked Trump how involved he was in selecting the 2025 honorees, he didn’t hold back.

“I was about 98% involved… they all came through me,” he said.

Trump explained he personally greenlit each honoree, and made it known that some didn’t make the cut.

“I turned down plenty, they were too woke… I had a couple of wokesters. No, we have great people. This is very different than it used to be.”

While taking aim at the state of Hollywood awards shows, Trump didn’t miss the chance to swipe at the Oscars.

“Look at the Academy Awards — it gets lousy ratings now, it’s all woke. All they do is talk about how much they hate Trump, but nobody likes that. They don’t watch anymore…”

Trump ended his “very long answer” by saying he “was very involved” in the selection of the Kennedy Center Honorees.

Fans hoping to check out the Kennedy Center website Wednesday afternoon were met with an unexpected message: “You are currently in a temporary waiting room.”

After President Trump revealed the blockbuster list of Kennedy Center Honorees, the Center’s official website was flooded.

“We are experiencing high traffic. You are currently in a temporary waiting room to enter the Kennedy Center website.”

The waiting room page also explained that the feature was “in place to manage traffic,” and users would be redirected to the main site as demand eased.

At the time of publication, the number of users “in line ahead of you” was listed at more than 300.

HOUSE REPUBLICAN APPROVE RENAMING THE KENNEDY CENTER OPERA HOUSE AFTER MELANIA TRUMP

The president previously told Fox News Digital, “The Kennedy Center is coming back. It was not properly taken care of and we are taking it back and we are going to turn it back into something great.”

Sources told Fox News Digital that the president is committed to revitalizing the Kennedy Center, with some suggesting it should eventually be renamed “the Trump–Kennedy Center.”

The Kennedy Center has two affiliates — the National Symphony Orchestra and the Washington National Opera. The new leadership team is currently working on business plans with its affiliates to ensure the Kennedy Center has larger endowments and “greater sustainability.”

Earlier this year, on February 12, Trump appointed himself as chairman of the Kennedy Center and fired multiple board members.

At the time, he said that he and then-chair David Rubenstein “do not share [the same] Vision for a Golden Age in Arts and Culture,” according to the announcement on Truth Social.

“Just last year, the Kennedy Center featured Drag Shows specifically targeting our youth — THIS WILL STOP,” Trump wrote in the post.

The opera house in the Kennedy Center is the second-largest theater in the center, with 2,347 seats.

The opera house also serves as the site for the annual Kennedy Center Honors, the nation’s highest award for lifetime achievement in the arts.

Shedeur Sanders got good news earlier Wednesday when the Cleveland Browns announced that he would start their next preseason game if Kenny Pickett and Dillon Gabriel were still injured.

However, the rookie quarterback suffered an injury himself, potentially hurting his own chances.

Skepticism was out when it was learned that Sanders did not get any team reps during Wednesday’s practice. Afterward, the Browns revealed Sanders suffered an oblique injury.

Sanders suffered the injury while throwing early in practice, and was held out for the remainder of the practice period.

The severity of the injury is unknown, but more will come about in the next few joint practices with the Philadelphia Eagles before the two foes meet in a preseason bout on Saturday.

Sanders got the starting nod last Friday against the Carolina Panthers and impressed. He was 14-for-23 passing with 138 yards and two touchdowns.

The odds were already stacked against Sanders, as he’s in a crowded quarterback room that includes Pickett, Gabriel (who was drafted two rounds ahead of Sanders), and Joe Flacco. Deshaun Watson is also rehabbing a twice-torn Achilles.

Sanders has been listed as the fourth quarterback on the depth chart, behind Flacco, Pickett and Gabriel, respectively.

When pressed further about when a decision will come on the season starter, head coach Kevin Stefanski said they will have a better idea following this week’s contest.

“I think you take everything into account, but we’ll see how we get through this week and then make a decision – make a decision on when to make a decision,” he said.

Flacco has taken the majority of first team reps with Pickett still limited because of a hamstring injury. Gabriel, too, is nursing a hamstring.

Earlier in camp, Sanders had to wait patiently to get reps with the first team, as the three other quarterbacks all did so. He has been getting the majority of his reps with third-stringers, but he said it “doesn’t really faze me.”

Sanders also dealt with shoulder soreness earlier this month.
