UN delegates storm out ahead of Netanyahu’s speech after applauding Palestinian leader
Delegates at the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) stormed out Friday as Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu took the stage and prepared to speak. The mass exit came after delegates spent days speaking about the situation in Gaza and proposals to end the nearly two-year war.
Their response to Netanyahu was a stark contrast to the long round of applause that Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas received when he addressed the international body virtually on Thursday.
ISRAEL CALLS UN PUSH FOR PALESTINE STATEHOOD A ‘CHARADE,’ WARNS OF ‘CONSEQUENCES’ FOR RECOGNITION MOVES
On Friday, as Netanyahu began his address, he was speaking to a nearly empty hall. It is unclear exactly which delegations stayed in the chamber, though U.S. delegates were present.
While he did not have the attention of all the U.N. delegates, Netanyahu revealed in his speech that he was addressing a much wider audience. Netanyahu revealed that his speech was played on speakers surrounding the Gaza Strip and that it was being streamed to Gazans’ cell phones.

The prime minister revealed the wide reach of his address after giving the hostages a message in Hebrew and in English.
“Our brave heroes, this is Prime Minister Netanyahu speaking to you live from the United Nations,” he began. “We have not forgotten you, not even for a second. The people of Israel are with you. We will not falter, and we will not rest until we bring all of you home.”
NETANYAHU EXPANDS SCOPE OF PLANNED GAZA TAKEOVER, SAYS ISRAEL HAS ‘NO CHOICE BUT TO FINISH THE JOB’
Netanyahu then turned his message to those holding the hostages in Gaza, including the leaders of Hamas, who could presumably hear his speech. He demanded the release of the 48 remaining hostages and gave an additional warning.
“Free the hostages now! If you do, you will live. If you don’t, Israel will hunt you down,” he said.
When Abbas spoke on Thursday, he slammed Israel’s “genocide” in Gaza, insisted his party is ready to take over the security and governance of the enclave and appealed to President Donald Trump for peace. He also demanded “full membership in the United Nations,” given that several European nations recognized a Palestinian state over the course of the UNGA.
UN GIVES LONG ROUND OF APPLAUSE AFTER PALESTINIAN AUTHORITY PRESIDENT ACCUSES ISRAEL OF ‘GENOCIDE’
“Palestine is ours. Jerusalem is the jewel of our hearts and our eternal capital. We will not leave our homeland. We will not leave our lands,” Abbas declared.
Abbas may have had a bigger audience in the hall than Netanyahu, but he was unable to see it in person after the State Department refused to approve his visa to travel to New York for the conference, citing support of terrorism.

Xi unveils ‘breathtaking’ weapons in military parade as Trump’s offer rejected
China recently rejected President Donald Trump’s offer to discuss nuclear arms reductions. Then, shortly after, Beijing revealed new weapons in its World War II parade, a celebratory affair that Russia’s Vladimir Putin and North Korea’s Kim Jong Un also enjoyed.
The parade included a variety of cutting-edge technologies, but the nuclear delivery systems stood out. The Chinese military showcased a full triad of improved capabilities: silo-launched intercontinental ballistic missiles, an air-launched ballistic missile and a submarine-launched ballistic missile.
Just three years ago, China denied it was rapidly building up its nuclear arsenal. In 2022, Fu Cong, then the director-general of the Chinese Foreign Ministry’s arms control department (now China’s permanent representative to the United Nations), told reporters that China was maintaining only a minimum deterrent necessary to defend itself.
Minimum deterrence is a strategy based on the assumption that a nation needs only to possess enough nuclear weapons to survive a first strike and credibly threaten a retaliatory strike sufficiently destructive in the mind of its adversary that the original act of aggression is deterred. Although the exact numbers that would meet those criteria are difficult to discern, the size of the force is modest.
CHINA SHOWS MISSILES, TRUMP SHOWS MUSCLE: XI’S STRATEGY CAN’T MATCH US
China also continues to insist that it holds a no-first-use policy. This means it would not use a nuclear weapon against a nation first, but only in response to an attack. In theory, this policy would complement its alleged minimum deterrent strategy, but its nuclear investments belie both claims.
Four years ago, then Stratcom Commander Adm. Charles Richard publicly warned that it is more useful to watch what the Chinese are doing than what they were claiming. China was amid what he called a “strategic breakout.” The military exercises between China and Russia were becoming more frequent, too, making what he described as “breathtaking” expansion even more alarming.
The Chinese were quickly expanding the size of their nuclear force and investing in diverse systems, and they were on a trajectory that suggested a challenge to the U.S. deterrent force, which is only designed to deter one major nuclear power, not two simultaneously.
Because of this, Adm. Richard concluded that, while it was impossible to know exactly how Xi Jinping might think about the purpose of the nuclear force, “what matters is they are building the capability to execute any plausible nuclear employment strategy – the last brick in the wall of a military capable of coercion.”
TRUMP’S TARIFFS FORCE CHINA TO FEEL THE HEAT
Any successful act of coercion relies on a nation’s adversary believing that it has the capability and willingness to attack. And Beijing is working on a force to convince Washington of that. Not only is China building a large and diverse nuclear arsenal that can reach U.S. ships, bases and allies, it is mixing its nuclear and conventional weapons on dual-capable systems. And China’s strategic nuclear breakout is leading up to the time when U.S. officials have assessed China may try to take Taiwan by force (2027).
A 2024 annual Department of Defense report to Congress described China’s nuclear force as including “low-yield precision strike missiles to ICBMs with multi-megaton yields to provide it options at every rung of the escalation ladder.”
That same report also said, “DoD estimates that the PRC will have over 1,000 operational nuclear warheads by 2030, much of which will be deployed at higher readiness levels, and will continue growing its force to 2035 in line with its goal of ensuring [People’s Liberation Army] modernization is ‘basically complete’ that year, an important milestone on the road to Xi’s goal of a ‘world class’ military by 2049.”
The report also noted that China will probably use its new fast breeder reactors and reprocessing facilities to produce plutonium for its nuclear weapons. Just like when China said it was keeping a minimum deterrent and a no-first-use policy, it was lying about this. Chinese officials claimed that these technologies are for peaceful purposes.
FIDDLING WHILE ROME BURNS: AMERICA IGNORES CHINA’S RISING RED TIDE
After China’s recent parade, I asked retired Adm. Richard what he made of it. He told me, “I think it’s important to look at it in totality. They are advancing rapidly in all aspects necessary for a military designed for aggression.” The new information, all publicly available, shows that the admiral was right when he sounded the alarm several years ago.
And while the nuclear expert community has found a consensus on the need to quickly modernize and adapt the U.S. nuclear force to deter Chinese aggression, decision-makers in the Pentagon have not fully grappled with this change. For example, the Biden administration did not make sufficient changes to field a nuclear deterrent force that could deter China and Russia simultaneously.
To preserve the peace, the Trump administration should do the following:
One, fully modernize the program of record by replacing its nuclear delivery systems; modernizing its warheads as well as U.S. nuclear command, control, and communications; and recapitalizing the nuclear enterprise infrastructure.
TRUMP LEARNS A LESSON GROUNDED IN FAITH, HOW BEST TO STAND TOUGH ON TRADE WITH CHINA
The total cost of this is disputed, but the upper range of the estimates is roughly 7% of the national defense budget, whose entire budget is less than 4% of the nation’s gross domestic product. To prevent nuclear war and preserve the peace, this is more than a bargain.
Two, formally terminate the New Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty (START) with Russia, which expires in February 2026. Russia announced during its invasion of Ukraine that it would no longer abide by the treaty’s accounting requirements.
If the United States decides to stay within the confines of New START—when there is no way to determine if Russia is doing the same, and when China is completely unrestrained by a treaty – then Washington would be unilaterally restrained when it desperately needs to adapt its force to deter the growing Chinese arsenal.
President Trump understood the foolishness of remaining bound by the Intermediate Nuclear Forces (INF) Treaty during his first term when Russia was cheating on it and formally withdrew from it. The same logic applies to New START today.

Three, bolster theater nuclear deterrence in the Pacific by speeding up the delivery of the Sea-Launched Cruise Missile (SLCM-N), a program President Trump initiated during his first term. The first Trump administration explained that it was adding this “prudent” option to enhance “the flexibility and diversity of U.S. nuclear capabilities… by signaling to potential adversaries that their limited nuclear escalation offers no exploitable advantage.”
The Biden administration did not support President Trump’s initiative until the end of its term, losing significant time. Now President Trump has the ability to speed up efforts to deliver this critical capability in time to deter Chinese aggression.
Additionally, the next generation bomber, the B-21, will be instrumental for deterring China and assuring allies. And as its older cousin, the B-2, showed off against the illicit Iranian nuclear program in Operation Midnight Hammer, stealth bombers are a threat to the most deeply buried targets inside enemy territory.

The Air Force plans to produce 100 B-21s, but adding a second production line and doubling the production output would be wise. This would also bring down the cost per item while delivering a powerful deterrent that the president can use across geographic theaters.
China claims that it has a minimum deterrent, follows a no-first-use policy and uses nuclear technology for peaceful purposes. None of that is true. For the sake of peace, the United States should boost the credibility of its nuclear deterrence accordingly – and fast.

President announces ‘it’s looking like’ agreement has been made on ending Gaza war
President Donald Trump said Friday that “I think we have a deal” on ending the Israel-Hamas war.
“It’s looking like we have a deal on Gaza, and we’ll let you know. I think it’s a deal that will get the hostages back. It’s going to be a deal that will end the war,” Trump told reporters while departing the White House.
“It’s going to be peace,” the president added. “I think we have a deal.”
Trump unveiled a 21-point initiative to end the Gaza war during meetings with Arab leaders on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly earlier this week.
TRUMP STAKES GAZA PEACE HOPES ON 21-POINT PLAN AS ISRAEL, HOUTHIS CONTINUE DEADLY FIGHTING
A White House official, speaking on background, told Fox News Digital, “The President underscored his desire to bring fighting in Gaza to an expeditious close. U.S. special envoy for the Middle East Steve Witkoff summarized the U.S. plan for Gaza, including the return of all hostages living and deceased, no further attacks on Qatar, a new dialogue between Israel and Palestinians for peaceful coexistence and more.
“Foreign partners expressed broad agreement that President Trump was the only one who could end the fighting in Gaza and expressed the hope that they could work together with Special Envoy Witkoff to consider the President’s plan as Americans continue to engage with Israeli officials,” the White House official added.
UN DELEGATES WALK OUT OF NETANYAHU ADDRESS AFTER CHEERING PALESTINIAN LEADER THE DAY BEFORE
Speaking at the Concordia Annual Summit in New York, Witkoff described a “very productive” meeting Tuesday between Trump and officials from Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Egypt, Jordan, Turkey, Indonesia and Pakistan.
“We presented what we call the Trump 21-point plan for peace in the Middle East,” Witkoff said. “I think it addresses Israeli concerns as well as concerns of neighbors in the region.”
Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas, speaking in a recorded UNGA address after being barred from entry to the U.S., also signaled support.
“We declare that we are ready to work with U.S. President Donald Trump and with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and France, the United Nations and all partners to implement the peace plan that was approved in the conference that was held on the 22nd of September, in a way that would lead towards a just peace and regional cooperation,” Abbas said.

State superintendent quits post with fiery mission to end teachers unions
Oklahoma state Superintendent Ryan Walters declared during a Wednesday night appearance on “Fox News @ Night” that he is leaving his government post to become CEO of the Teacher Freedom Alliance.
He indicated that he has his sights set on the destruction of teachers unions.
“I’m stepping down as Oklahoma’s Superintendent to serve as incoming CEO of Teacher Freedom Alliance. We’re going to destroy the teachers unions and take back our schools,” he wrote in a Thursday post on X.
Walters will officially start in the new position next week on Oct. 1, according to a press release.
OKLAHOMA STATE SUPERINTENDENT PLEDGES A TURNING POINT USA CHAPTER FOR EVERY HIGH SCHOOL
“For decades, union bosses have poisoned our schools with politics and propaganda while abandoning parents, students, and good teachers. That ends today. We’re going to expose them, fight them, and take back our classrooms,” Walters asserted, according to the release.
“At the Teacher Freedom Alliance, we’re giving educators real freedom, freedom from the liberal, woke agenda that has corrupted public education. We will arm teachers with the tools, support, and freedom they need, without forcing them to give up their values. This is a battle for the future of our kids, and we will not lose.”
American Federation of Teachers President Randi Weingarten hailed the news that Walters is vacating the state post.
OKLAHOMA SCHOOLS CHIEF DEDICATES MILLIONS TO PUT ‘A BIBLE IN EVERY SCHOOL’
“Today is a good day for Oklahoma’s kids,” she noted, according to The Hill.
“It’s no surprise that Mr. Walters, after failing on the job, is leaving the state. Any educator worth their salt understands it’s impossible to educate students if you don’t support teachers. Walters didn’t do that in Oklahoma and now, at a time we need to bring the country together, he’s trying to export his divisive rhetoric nationally.”
Fox News Digital has reached out to the American Federation of Teachers for comment.
This week, Walters also announced a push to have Turning Point USA chapters established at all state high schools.

Our fight starts now.”
During an interview with Fox News Channel’s Martha MacCallum, Walters claimed the groups will be “in every school because we’ve already got requests from every school — so that makes it very easy.”
Newsom slams GM’s CEO, says automakers ‘sold us out’ on EV policy
California Gov. Gavin Newsom blamed General Motors and CEO Mary Barra for the rollback of electric vehicle subsidies and other anti-EV measures advanced by the Trump administration and Republicans in Congress.
Newsom was asked last week about the state of California’s capacity to replace the federal EV subsidies that were ended by the Trump administration and said, “You’re talking about the Biden-era tax credit that the Trump administration eliminated. We can’t make up for federal vandalism of those tax credits, but we can continue to make the unprecedented investments in infrastructure which we’re doing.”
“It’s not about electric vehicles, it’s about economic transformation and this country has ceded that to China,” Newsom said. “It is remarkable the damage that Donald Trump and Republicans in Congress have done in terms of our, not just electric vehicle industry but the tech stack that’s a big part of that.”
“We’ve ceded that. GM sold us out. Mary Barra sold us out,” Newsom added. “Eliminating Ronald Reagan’s work, eliminating the progress we’ve made under the California Resources Board of 1967 where we began the process of regulating tailpipe emissions. The Republicans rolled that back this year, Donald Trump’s leadership. But the American automobile manufacturers allowed that to happen, GM led that effort.”
CALIFORNIA TRYING TO KEEP OIL AND GAS FIRMS FROM LEAVING THE STATE
Newsom noted that about one-fourth of new vehicles sold in California are alternative-fueled, which is the highest share in the nation. He added that the state has 60 EV manufacturers and has created an ecosystem favorable for EVs, which he said helped facilitate the rise of Elon Musk’s Tesla.
He also emphasized that California plans to continue to invest in EV infrastructure and renewable energy through its cap-and-trade program, which sets greenhouse gas emissions limits and has emitters purchase “allowances” – which are effectively permits to emit one ton of carbon dioxide equivalents – and sell excess allowances to companies that require offsets. The program’s revenue from allowance auctions helps fund projects aimed at reducing emissions.
CALIFORNIA EV DRIVERS ARE ABOUT TO LOSE A MAJOR PERK AFTER 25 YEARS

“California will continue to compete, we’ll continue to make the case to be more competitive globally, not just across the United States, and there are billions and billions of dollars through 2045 in the cap-and-trade program that continue to make those infrastructure investments, but not the direct subsidies that we cannot make up for that were eliminated under the federal program,” Newsom said.
Despite all that Newsom said about EVs, it comes as he has also moved to stop the exodus of oil and gas companies from California over what the industry views as a hostile regulatory climate.

The number of refineries in the state has dwindled over the last several decades from 40 in 1983 to 13 currently in operation – a number that’s expected to decline to 11 when Valero and Phillips 66 shut down their refineries.

New Jersey gubernatorial race roiled by release of Dem’s military records
The bitter ballot box battle in New Jersey, one of only two races for governor this year in the entire country, is in turmoil on Friday after a bombshell report Thursday revealed that the United States Naval Academy blocked Rep. Mikie Sherrill, the Democratic gubernatorial nominee, from walking with her graduating class amid a 1994 cheating scandal.
The report revealed a federal agency admitted it wrongly gave much of Democratic nominee Rep. Mikie Sherrill’s private military records to an ally of GOP rival Jack Ciattarelli.
Top House Democrats in Washington are calling for an investigation amid accusations President Donald Trump’s administration may be targeting political opponents.
But Ciattarelli and his campaign are raising questions about Sherrill, a U.S. Naval Academy graduate who went on to pilot helicopters in combat during her military career, after the documents released revealed that she was barred from walking with her classmates during her 1994 graduation for failing to report those who had cheated on an exam.
TRUMP LOOMS LARGE OVER THIS CRUCIAL RACE FOR GOVERNOR
And Ciattarelli is calling on Sherrill to release her records to prove why she was blocked from attending her graduation ceremony.
“What we learned today is that she was part of it in some way, shape or form. Come clean, release the records. Tell us what’s in your disciplinary records. I think the people of New Jersey deserve that,” Ciattarelli said Thursday night in an interview on Fox News’ “Hannity.”
The accusations from both sides come as the latest public opinion polls indicate a very close contest in blue-leaning New Jersey in the race to succeed term-limited Democratic Gov. Phil Murphy.

“To have a guy I’m running against who will stop at nothing to illegally obtain records, it’s beyond the pale,” Sherrill charged Thursday night on the campaign trail in Plainfield, New Jersey.
The controversy went viral after CBS News reported Thursday that the National Personnel Records Center, which is a branch of the National Archives and Records Administration, released Sherrill’s improperly redacted military personnel files, which included private information including her social security number.
The National Archives, in a letter this week, apologized to Sherrill, saying the improper release was due to a government worker’s error over a legal records request.
Following the breach of the records, Sherrill’s campaign sent cease and desist letters to the National Archives and to Ciattarelli’s campaign, as well as to Ciattarelli’s top strategist, Chris Russell and Nicholas De Gregorio, who is described by Sherrill’s team as “an agent of the campaign working at the direction of” Russell.
CBS News reported that Sherrill’s military records were released to De Gregorio.
“The Trump administration blatantly violated federal law by releasing Mikie Sherrill’s unredacted personal military records to an agent of the Ciattarelli campaign — which were then distributed and weaponized by Jack Ciattarelli,” Sherrill campaign communications director Sean Higgins charged in a statement.
FROM KIRK TO KIMMEL – FIERY FIRST DEBATE BETWEEN CIATTARELLI, SHERRILL
Sherrill’s campaign argued, “This is a breathtaking, disturbing leak that must be thoroughly investigated. Once again, the Trump administration is targeting political opponents with an absolute disregard for the law, this time in concert with the Ciattarelli campaign.”
Minority Leader Rep. Hakeem Jeffries, the top Democrat in the House, said he would “support a criminal investigation into the unauthorized and illegal release of Mikie Sherrill’s records.”
The ranking member of the House Oversight Committee, Democratic Rep. Robert Garcia of California, as well as Sherrill’s fellow House Democrats from New Jersey’s congressional delegation, also called for an investigation.
House Republicans two years ago launched investigations into similar improper releases of military records of GOP House members, including Reps. Don Bacon of Nebraska and Zach Nunn of Iowa.
Around the same time the CBS News report was posted, the New Jersey Globe went up with a story focusing on Sherrill being barred from walking with her class at the Naval Academy graduation amid the cheating scandal, which made major headlines three decades ago and spurred a congressional investigation.
Cittarrelli campaign manager Eric Alpert charged that the “admission byCongresswoman Sherrill that she was implicated in, and punished for, her involvement in the largest cheating and honor code scandal in the history of the United States Navy is both stunning and deeply disturbing.”
“For eight years, Mikie Sherrill has built her entire political brand around her time at the Naval Academy and in the Navy, all the while concealing her involvement in the scandal and her punishment. The people of New Jersey deserve complete and total transparency,” he added.
Sherrill, who was never accused of cheating in the scandal, said Thursday night that “there was a test at the school that was stolen…I did not realize it was stolen. I took the test.”
“Afterwards I knew what the rumor mill was,” she added. “I didn’t come forward with that information.”
New Jersey is just one of two states, along with Virginia, that hold statewide elections for governor this November. And the contests, which traditionally grab outsized national attention, are viewed as crucial early tests of the president’s popularity and agenda, and key barometers ahead of next year’s midterm showdowns for the House and Senate.
Sherrill, on the campaign trail, has repeatedly linked Ciattarelli to Trump.
“As Trump has inflicted all this damage on our country, Republican politicians like Jack Ciattarelli have cheered him on every step of the way,” Sherrill emphasized in a recent fundraising email to supporters.
And on Sunday, at the first debate between the gubernatorial nominees, Sherrill pointed to Ciattarelli and charged that “he’ll do whatever Trump tells him to do.”
Ciattarelli, who enjoys the president’s support, says Sherrill is trying to use Trump as a cudgel.
“Listen, if you get a flat tire on the way home from work today, she’s going to blame it on the president. There isn’t anything she doesn’t blame on the president,” Ciattarelli argued, as he sat earlier this week for an interview with Fox News Digital.
Ciattarelli, who is making his third straight run for governor and who came close to upsetting Democratic Gov. Phil Murphy four years ago, discounted talk that Trump is the dominant issue in the race.
“We’ve got a property tax crisis in the state. The president doesn’t have anything to do with that. We’ve got a public safety crisis in the state. Nonviolent crime is through the roof. He doesn’t have anything to do with that. We’ve got a public education crisis, an overdevelopment crisis. Look at your monthly electric bill. The President doesn’t have anything to do with those things,” Ciattarelli insisted.
And Ciattarelli, a former state lawmaker and a certified public accountant who started a medical publishing company before getting into politics, charged that the Democrats are to blame, as he works overtime trying to link Sherrill to Murphy, who’s term-limited, and the Democrats who’ve long controlled the state legislature in Trenton.
While New Jersey has long been a blue state in presidential elections, Trump improved from a 16-point loss in the state in the 2020 election to a 6-point deficit last November.

Sherrill, who served as a federal prosecutor before first winning election to Congress in 2018, has been shining a campaign spotlight on affordability, as inflation concerns persist.
“I am laser-focused on driving down costs for families like yours. I’m going to declare a state of emergency on day one, freezing your rate hikes. I’m going to demand transparency and accountability from our government to save you time and money,” she said at the start of the first debate.
Georgetown students express fear and frustration over disturbing flyer on campus
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Georgetown University students who spoke to Fox News Digital said they were afraid and disappointed when they saw flyers posted on campus Wednesday by a far-left group that approvingly referenced the killer of Charlie Kirk.
“My first emotion was fear,” Jordan Van Slingerland, a senior international politics major, said on Thursday. “What happened to Charlie Kirk hit myself and, of course, many of my friends on this campus very hard, and seeing the text that was on the bullet of the assassin that had taken his life, certainly, was a bit scary.”
While one student told Fox News Digital that the flyers were only posted for about 30 minutes on Wednesday before they were taken down, several more flyers were posted on campus the following night, including a photo of conservative influencer Charlie Kirk, who was assassinated three weeks ago, with the slogans: “Follow your leader” and “Rest in p-ss Charlie.” Video obtained by Fox News Digital showed a Georgetown University police officer removing the flyers Thursday.
“It made me feel very upset,” Elizabeth Oliver, a Georgetown senior and president of the university’s “Right to Life” group, told Fox News Digital in an interview. “Over the years, I’ve heard many hateful things against conservatives, and this was so blatant and in people’s faces that it made me very worried for my other friends who share my similar beliefs.”
LEFTIST GUN CLUB LINKED TO VIOLENCE RECRUITING ON GEORGETOWN CAMPUS, ECHOING KIRK ASSASSINATION: ‘HEY FASCIST! CATCH!’
The flyer was posted by the John Brown Gun Club, whom the Center for Counter Extremism has labeled a “far-left group.” They contained the phrase, “Hey fascist! Catch!” – an apparent nod to the slogan authorities say was etched in a shell casing found near the bolt-action rifle allegedly used to assassinate Kirk at Utah Valley University.
The group is named for militant slave abolitionist John Brown and the flyer also referred to their organization as “the only political group that celebrates when Nazis die” on the flyers.
CONSERVATIVE PAC TURNS TABLES ON LEFT-WING NARRATIVE DEFENDING TEACHERS WHO SMEAR CHARLIE KIRK
Matthew Cosenza, a Georgetown freshman, said the flyer caught his eye when it went viral on X on Wednesday.
“I really wasn’t that surprised to see material like that on campus,” Cosenza said. “I’ve seen other material that likens Trump to Hitler, the conservatives to fascists and the conservative movement on campus to Nazism.”
Senior Rowan O’Sullivan also was not surprised.
“Certainly, it’s out-of-control,” O’Sullivan said. “But I think it’s pretty obvious that whatever version of leftism, whatever you want to call this is, I think is, to some degree, window dressing for bloodlust at the end of it, and you saw that with the reactions to Charlie Kirk’s death.”
As the director of Campus Affairs for Georgetown’s College Republicans chapter and a board member for conservative groups on campus, Van Slingerland said he has been threatened with political violence since President Donald Trump was elected.
“The climate has certainly been very hostile here for conservative students since then,” Van Slingerland said.
After Shae McInnis, a sophomore at Georgetown University and treasurer of the school’s College Republicans club, spoke to Fox News Digital, O’Sullivan said he “has been identified by these left-wing groups on anonymous campus messaging platforms,” and students “have been spreading lies and fabrications about him.”
“I’ve heard from many people that they don’t want to get involved in groups like debate societies,” Oliver said. “This anonymous attacking from people, where you don’t know where it’s coming from, is very scary. So many people are deterred from even sharing their beliefs in classrooms.”
Georgetown released a statement on Thursday affirming the campus has “no tolerance for calls for violence or threats to the university.”
“The flyers have been removed, and the university is investigating this incident and working to ensure the safety of our community,” Georgetown University said.
But students said the administration could do more to deter this type of violent rhetoric.
“I would love to see the university distinguish itself from other elite universities in the United States, which have all completely succumbed to leftism and have rotted from the inside out,” O’Sullivan said.
While defending the right to free speech, O’Sullivan argued that Georgetown is a private institution, and “if the school had any spine, they would absolutely condemn it and come down hard, and not just send us an email.”
Two students who spoke to Fox News Digital said they were concerned the Trump administration would cut their federal funding in response to the flyer.
Cash Moore, a Georgetown sophomore and a member of the College Democrats club, said that when he first saw the poster in a group chat, he felt “disappointment” that some students view violence as acceptable.
“The first thing I thought was a little disappointment that some people, perhaps on this campus, hold that violence is something that is productive in society,” Moore said.
However, he said he is concerned that the Trump administration’s attention to the flyer could put a “target” on the university.”
Education Secretary Linda McMahon posted a statement on Wednesday condemning the “appalling posters” and urging the university to “determine what it stands for as an institution.”
“ED officials have spoken to Georgetown administrators, who made the decision to remove the flyers. Campus police are investigating the incident and will deploy resources to protect students as necessary. Allowing violent rhetoric to fester on our nation’s campuses without consequences is dangerous. It must be condemned by institutional leaders,” McMahon said.
“I think one of the things I am worried about is, is Trump going to target us next?” Moore asked.
When reached for comment regarding the students’ fears of retaliation, White House spokesperson Liz Huston told Fox News Digital, “This despicable act at Georgetown underscores just how mainstream political violence has become on the left and why Charlie Kirk’s work on college campuses was so important.”
“Through debate, Charlie taught students how to think critically and engage across differences. Americans should continue to live by the same principles as Charlie – speaking the truth, fostering real dialogue, and loving your country,” the White House added.
Referencing Trump’s speech at Kirk’s memorial on Sunday when he said, “I hate my opponents,” Moore told Fox News Digital that it’s “valid for the left to also feel afraid.”
Moore said he has only seen the left take steps to condemn the violence and that “a lot of the escalation is coming from the right, not just a few crazy people putting up posters on the left.”
“We do have a free speech right on this campus, and I think that’s something a lot of us value and, obviously, a call to violence isn’t something that should take place, but there also is that free speech aspect that’s important to acknowledge,” he said.
Max Wolff-Merovick, a sophomore and a member of the school’s largest debating society, said he believes the flyers were put up by “a small group of students” in an attempt to spark outrage rather than to promote a student club.
“It’s unequivocally bad to be emulating the rhetoric of a political assassin,” Wolff-Merovick said. “That’s not something that anyone should be doing. But it also struck me as something that was more intended to provoke outrage on purpose rather than a serious attempt at creating a student organization as it’s been characterized by a number of different people.”
Wolff-Merovick said that “this does not represent the student body” at the school.
“Certainly I feel for it, but I think, at the same time, we need to be grounded in reality and know that this does not represent the student body at Georgetown as a whole, much less the left in general,” he said.
Wolff-Merovick said both sides “could do a better job at universally calling to turn the temperature down.”
Jonathan Rothschild, a student at Georgetown University, said free speech should remain protected, but political violence “should not be glorified.”
“If it is not a direct call to violence, I think the Georgetown University administration, to protect free speech, should leave it up, even though I personally find it abhorrent,” Rothschild said, adding that most students on campus oppose political violence.

“I think everyone with common sense should be against political violence,” he said.
Georgetown University did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital’s request for comment.

Bryant was looking to make a bigger play when he ran into his own teammate, linebacker Tyrice Knight, and fumbled the ball. The Cardinals recovered the ball and received a new set of downs.
Seahawks players thought they secured the turnover and started to celebrate in the end zone. But officials determined that it was the Cardinals’ ball. Arizona finished the new drive with a field goal to take an early lead.

Archaeologists uncover lost harbor at site tied to history’s most controversial queen
Egyptian archaeologists recently uncovered a hidden harbor at an ancient temple connected to Cleopatra VII – an unexpected find for historians.
The Egyptian Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities announced the discovery of the harbor on Sept. 18. It was found at the Temple of Taposiris Magna, about 30 miles west of Alexandria.
The temple, built in the Ptolemaic era, was dedicated to Osiris, the Egyptian god of the afterlife.

Though the temple from the 3rd century B.C. was constructed two centuries before Cleopatra ruled, it was still in use by the time she took power.
Cleopatra, who was respected in Egypt but vilified in Roman accounts, promoted the cult of Isis and Osiris, and artifacts from her rule have been found at the site.
Officials say the harbor was connected to the temple and directly linked to the Mediterranean Sea. The harbor was protected by coral reefs, archaeologists found.
“Archaeologists also found stone and metal anchors of various sizes, along with large numbers of amphorae dating back to the Ptolemaic period,” the statement, translated from Arabic to English, added.

“Research further showed that the ancient shoreline lies about 4 kilometers from today’s coast.”
Mohamed Ismail Khaled, secretary-general of the Supreme Council of Antiquities, called the harbor a “significant scientific contribution to Egyptian maritime archaeology, especially since no ancient sources had previously mentioned it.”
“The findings not only enhance our understanding of the economic and religious structures of that era, but also confirm Egypt’s status as a global center of maritime activity for thousands of years,” he said.

The discovery came a year after a similar excavation at the site yielded foundation deposits and a variety of artifacts, including funerary and ritual objects.
Last year, archaeologists found 337 coins – many containing a Cleopatra image – along with oil lamps, an amulet, and vessels for storing food and cosmetics.
“The discoveries indicated that the temple walls were constructed in the 1st century B.C., with remains of an earlier Greek temple from the 4th century B.C. that was destroyed between the 2nd century B.C. and the beginning of the Roman era,” the ministry noted.
The discovery of the harbor is one of many recent archaeological finds across Egypt.
At a site called Tell el-Fara’in, archaeologists recently found multistory buildings from a lost Egyptian city.
