UC Berkeley chaos outside TPUSA campus event under federal investigation
The Department of Justice has launched an investigation into unrest that unfolded outside a Turning Point USA event at University of California, Berkeley on Monday.
“Mob assault and thuggish intimidation of attendees exercising their First Amendment rights are unacceptable,” Assistant Attorney General Harmeet Dhillon wrote in a post announcing the probe on X.
The atmosphere was tense as left-wing agitators swarmed Zellerbach Hall where the event, which was the last stop on the “This is the Turning Point” tour, was held.
Attendees were forced to navigate a mob of hostile agitators in order to enter and exit the event, while police held back a screaming and sometimes violent mob.

The event featured actor Rob Schneider and author Frank Turek, a Christian mentor of the organization’s late founder, Charlie Kirk.
“The U.S. Department of Justice, Civil Rights Division has recently become aware of concerning incidents occurring on your campus at the University of California (UC), Berkeley on or about November 10, 2025,” said a letter from Dhillon addressed to the University of California Board of Regents.
“Our office previously opened investigations of the University of California System for potential violations of Title VI and Title VII based on other events. We will determine whether the events of November 10 should also be included in those investigations,” according to the letter. “We are also determining whether recent events provide a basis for additional investigation of violations of federal rights, including, without limitation, violations of the First and Fourteenth Amendments to the United States Constitution.”
UC BERKELEY TPUSA DEFIES ‘FASCIST’ LABELS, WILL HOST EVENT CHARLIE KIRK WAS SET TO HEADLINE
The DOJ has demanded that the school preserve all records related to security and campus preparation for the Turning Point event.
In a lengthy statement provided to Fox News Digital, UC Berkeley strongly condemned all violence and threats that may chill freedom of speech. It also said it will cooperate with the federal investigation.
“The University is conducting a full investigation and intends to fully cooperate with and assist any federal investigations and the FBI-led Joint Terrorism Task Force to identify the outside agitators responsible for attempting to disrupt last night’s TPUSA event,” the statement said. “UC Berkeley will take all appropriate steps to safeguard the right of every member of our community to speak and assemble freely.”
The school noted that despite the chaos outside, the Turning Point event, which it says garnered more than 900 attendees, was uninterrupted.
At least eight people were arrested during the event.
In a bloody viral incident just outside the campus, a man wearing a “FREEDOM” T-shirt, similar to the one Kirk was wearing when he was assassinated, was beaten by another man.
UC BERKELEY CHAOS OUTSIDE TURNING POINT GATHERING ENDS IN MULTIPLE ARRESTS AS CONSERVATIVE EVENT RUNS SMOOTHLY
Jihad Dphrepaulezz, 25, was arrested and charged with robbery and battery after stealing the victim’s chain and brawling with him in the street, according to Berkeley police.
Campus police also confirmed two arrests during the chaos outside the event.
Christopher Joseph Benton, 48, who is unaffiliated with the school, was arrested for trespassing, resisting or obstructing an officer and being unlawfully present on campus, all misdemeanors.
Jay Eduardo Maytorena, 22, listed as a current or former student, was arrested for trespassing and resisting or obstructing an officer.
Four Berkeley students were arrested by UC Berkeley police early Monday morning on felony vandalism charges related to hanging an anti-Turning Point display in a forbidden location on campus.

On Tuesday afternoon, the school also told Fox News Digital that a 45-year-old man was struck in the head with a glass bottle or jar. He suffered a laceration on his head and was transported to the hospital for treatment.
It is unclear whether anyone has been arrested in that incident.
Rogan reveals disturbing trend in the country that could lead to a civil war
Podcast host Joe Rogan warned on Tuesday that not just the death of TPUSA co-founder Charlie Kirk, but the celebration of it indicates the country is inching closer to a civil war.
Rogan spoke with his guest, Brian Redban, about how there has been a chaotic back-and forth tit-for-tat between America’s political left and right in recent years. He argued the stark division within the country was expressed by the murder of Kirk during a campus event this past September.
“Charlie Kirk gets shot and people are celebrating like, ‘whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. You want people to die that you disagree with?’ Like, where are we right now on the scale of one-to-civil war? Where are we? Are we at seven? Because I thought we were at a five. I thought we were like four. Four or five,” he said on the Tuesday’s episode of the “Joe Rogan Experience” podcast. “But after the Charlie Kirk thing, I’m like, ‘Oh, we might be like seven.’ This might be like step seven on the way to a bonafide civil war.”
Joe Rogan cautioned that when people start rejoicing over someone’s death—especially a public killing witnessed by the world and their family—it reflects a disturbing moral decline. He emphasized that if the person’s biggest offense was merely saying things others disagreed with, then celebrating their violent death is deeply troubling.

Rogan highlighted how it’s not just people on the margins, but people in respected fields posting their joy about an assassination on their public social media profiles.
“This is nuts,” he said. “Like what are you guys on? What’s happening here?”
Months after Kirk’s death, TPUSA events continue to experience protests and threats of violence.
During a Monday TPUSA event at the University of California, Berkeley, a man was seen beating a TPUSA supporter outside the event. The individual was arrested and charged with violent crimes, according to local police. Several others were arrested related to the campus event, including four women arrested for felony vandalism.
“Right now at our Turning Point USA campus tour stop at UC Berkeley… Antifa is breaking through police barricades and threatening our event attendees,” TPUSA chief of staff Mikey McCoy said on X.
Rogan has previously warned against the rising acceptance of political violence.
Days after Kirk’s assassination, Rogan said his murder “opened up” his eyes and never would have thought so many people would celebrate a man’s murder.
BLOODY BRAWL BREAKS OUT AS AGITATORS PROTEST TPUSA EVENT AT UC BERKELEY IN CALIFORNIA
“It’s just bizarre, like, normal people that, I think, think they’re good people, and they think, they genuinely think, that guy was a bad guy,” Rogan said. “And I don’t think they’re right. And I think they were indoctrinated. And I don’t agree with everything that Charlie Kirk said or did.”

China’s engineering marvel turns to dust as newly opened bridge plunges into gorge
A massive bridge at a hydropower station in southwest China collapsed Tuesday, sending concrete and steel plunging into a river just months after it opened, according to Chinese state media.
Reuters reported that an official from Barkam County confirmed the collapse to the Chinese state-run Global Times, saying no casualties had been reported.
The report added that cracks were detected a day earlier on the bridge’s road surface and slope, prompting authorities to impose temporary traffic controls.
Footage of the collapse, shared widely on Chinese social media, showed the Hongqi Bridge in Sichuan Province buckling before falling into the river below, kicking up a massive cloud of dust.

The incident occurred around 3 p.m. local time near the G317 national highway, according to China Central Television (CCTV) News.
Local transportation and public security bureaus said the right-bank slope of the bridge showed signs of deformation Monday afternoon, just hours before the collapse.
Authorities quickly shut down the structure to all traffic and issued a public notice warning of potential safety risks.

According to Times Now, the Hongqi Bridge was located in Sichuan Province’s mountainous Maerkang area and completed earlier this year as part of the G317 national highway—an important route connecting central China to Tibet.
The 758-meter-long, cantilevered two-lane beam bridge stood roughly 625 meters above the gorge floor, with piers reaching up to 172 meters in height. It was built by the state-backed Sichuan Road & Bridge Group as part of efforts to expand access to the Tibetan Plateau.

The bridge’s construction was part of a broader government push to improve connectivity and spur economic growth across western China’s rugged terrain, Times Now reported.
It was intended to serve as a symbol of the country’s infrastructure ambitions but had only reopened to traffic a few months before the collapse—marking a short-lived chapter for what was meant to showcase China’s engineering progress.

State-run outlets have not yet identified the cause of the collapse, though early assessments suggest geological instability may have played a role. No vehicles or pedestrians were on the bridge at the time, officials said, and investigations are underway.
Noem reveals ‘sexual deviants and perverts’ taken off streets in massive Florida bust
Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem announced Wednesday that more than 150 illegal immigrant sex offenders were arrested in Florida as part of a broader effort to crack down on crime with help from state and local officials.
“We’re making America more safe and secure every day, and that’s a wonderful mission to have,” Noem said on “Fox & Friends.”
Operation Criminal Return targeted child sex offenders accused of crimes including sexual assault, battery and attempted homicide, she revealed, telling Fox News’ Lawrence Jones that the operation’s success was largely due to help from Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis.
“These 150 individuals will be gone off of our streets. Our kids will be safer, and this partnership with Governor DeSantis in Florida is a model that we want to replicate across the country,” she continued.
DHS SAYS NOEM IS TEMPORARILY STAYING IN MILITARY HOUSING AFTER FACING ‘VICIOUS DOXXING,’ DEATH THREATS
“These individuals should have never been in our country to begin with. The fact that they were sexual deviants and perverts, and now we’ve gotten them off of our streets… it’s remarkable, and we need to do more of it.”
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is also surging resources to other areas across the U.S., including cities like Chicago, where Democratic officials have long resisted the Trump administration’s crackdown.
According to DHS Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin, crime in Chicago has dropped since the start of Operation Midway Blitz, with homicides down 16%, shootings down 35%, robberies down 41% and other crimes declining as well.

Noem said she is “thrilled” with the results but criticized Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker for attacking the Trump administration’s actions involving Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and other federal agencies.
“[His] personal attacks against President Trump puts his people in jeopardy each and every day,” she said.

“We’re going to surge more resources there. We’re not going to just be in Chicago. We’re spreading out to other cities and continuing to do our work. I won’t talk about specific operations, but we’re not going to give him any relief from his political rhetoric. We’re going to be in there defending these families.
“The significant difference that we have made in public safety in Chicago is something that we need more in many more cities. I’m so thankful for Border Patrol, thankful for ICE, that they get up every single day, and they go into these dangerous situations, and they protect people, [and] put their lives on the line.”
Blue states lose massive amount from tax base as residents flee to lower taxes
A new analysis finds that the states of New York and New Jersey have lost billions of dollars from their tax base amid an exodus of residents in recent years.
Unleash Prosperity released a report on Tuesday that found New York lost $517.5 billion in resident incomes from 2013 to 2022, while New Jersey lost $170.1 billion in that period, according to data from the Census Bureau and IRS.
The report covers cumulative gains and losses in each state’s resident income, as a mover takes their income to another state for subsequent years – not just the first year after their move. The report was first covered by the New York Post.
ECONOMIC CONCERNS DRIVE VOTERS IN ELECTION RACES NATIONWIDE
“New York and New Jersey combined have lost two-thirds of a trillion dollars in net income and purchasing power over the last decade due to moving vans departing these states,” Steve Moore, economist and co-founder of Unleash Prosperity, told FOX Business.
“This has been one of the greatest wealth losses for one region in American history. New Jersey and New York are being bled to death by low tax states in the South,” Moore added.
MAMDANI’S SOCIALIST DREAMS WITHIN REACH AS PRESSURE GROWS ON HOCHUL, INSIDER PREDICTS
New York’s losses were the largest of any state, while New Jersey’s losses ranked as the fourth-most among the states.
The other states that lost the most in resident incomes over that period were California, which lost $370.1 billion, and Illinois, which lost $315.2 billion.
States that saw resident incomes grow the most in the 2013 to 2022 period were Florida, with a gain of just over $1 trillion, and Texas, which saw a $290 billion uptick.
THE SOCIALIST EXPERIMENT COMES TO NYC: MAMDANI’S VISION FOR A MORE AFFORDABLE CITY
Unleash Prosperity’s Vote With Your Feet project tracks how Americans and their money move between states year-over-year and found that those states have seen the biggest gains and declines in recent years.
Based on tax filing data from the 2011-12 period through 2021-22, New York lost a net 1.757 million residents to domestic migration, while California lost 1.632 million, Illinois 881,012 and New Jersey 350,111 over that period.

Over that period, the biggest population gainers were Florida with 1.591 million and Texas with 1.268 million – more than double the third-ranked state with North Carolina gaining 520,615 residents in that period.
Giants make major quarterback switch after firing Daboll as season spirals downward
More changes will come to the New York Giants this weekend after the team fired head coach Brian Daboll, according to multiple reports.
The Giants will reportedly start Jameis Winston at quarterback against the Green Bay Packers on Sunday. It will be Winston’s first appearance with Big Blue as he’s served as the third-string quarterback on the depth chart behind Jaxson Dart and Russell Wilson.

Dart doesn’t appear to be cleared to play in Week 11 after suffering a concussion against the Chicago Bears at the end of the third quarter last week. Wilson came into the game for Dart but didn’t do much to inspire coaches to plug him into the offense against the Packers.
With the season dwindling and the playoffs moving further out of reach, New York appears likely to give Winston a chance to show what he can do in the Mike Kafka-led offense.

Winston has been more or less a journeyman quarterback since he left the Tampa Bay Buccaneers after the 2019 season. That year, he left the league with 5,109 passing yards. However, he also led the league with 30 interceptions.
He appeared in 12 games for the Cleveland Browns last season, starting in seven of those games. He was 2-7 in those starts. He had 2,121 passing yards, 13 touchdown passes and 12 interceptions.

‘I screamed’: Archaeologist uncovers 2,700-year-old clue to biblical power struggle
A group of excavators recently uncovered the first-ever Assyrian inscription found in Jerusalem — shedding light on ancient power struggles described in the Bible.
The inscription, which was carved on a small pottery fragment, was uncovered at the Tzurim Valley National Park in East Jerusalem. The find was announced by the Israel Antiquities Authority (IAA) on Oct. 22.
Though the fragment was unearthed in the Tzurim Valley, it was originally part of rubble near the Western Wall, beside the Temple Mount.
ANCIENT ESTATE TIED TO GROUP IN THE BIBLE UNEARTHED WITH ‘FASCINATING’ TREASURES IN ISRAEL
The inscription belonged to the Assyrian civilization, the dominant empire in the Middle East during the time of biblical kings.
The Assyrians ruled much of the Near East from the 9th to the 7th centuries B.C., before Nineveh, their capital, fell. The inscription was written in Akkadian and dates back 2,700 years, according to officials.
“The inscription provides rare evidence of correspondence between the court of the King of Assyria and the King of Judah,” the IAA said, calling the fragment “tiny, extremely rare and historic.”
Archaeologist Moria Cohen, who spotted the artifact, told the IAA she was sifting soil when she suddenly noticed “a potsherd with a strange pattern.”

“I looked closely, and it seemed like cuneiform script — which felt so unlikely, because even though many fascinating finds have been uncovered here, we’ve never found anything like this,” said Cohen.
“I checked again, and when I realized it wasn’t decoration but actual cuneiform writing — I screamed with excitement …[The] thought that after 2,700 years I’m the first person to touch this fragment — it’s incredibly moving. It’s truly a once-in-a-lifetime find.”
The pottery piece, just about 2.5 centimeters long, records an exchange between ancient rulers.
Historians believe it was part of a royal bulla, or seal impression, used to convey a message about a tax payment or other obligation.

The inscription specifies a deadline — specifically, the first day of the month of Av — and mentions a chariot officer, according to experts.
“Although the fragment does not include the name of the King of Judah to whom the message was addressed, its chronological context and partial text suggest it was sent to the court of one of the Judean kings — Hezekiah, Manasseh or Josiah early in his reign — when Judah was a vassal kingdom under Assyria,” the IAA noted.
“While we cannot determine whether the delay was technical or politically motivated, the very existence of such an official message may indicate a point of tension between Judah and the imperial administration,” the release added.

Excavation director Ayala Silberstein said the inscription “provides direct evidence of official correspondence between the Assyrian Empire and the Kingdom of Judah.
“The discovery strengthens our understanding of the depth of Assyrian presence in Jerusalem and the extent of its influence on the city’s administration,” Silberstein added.
“It also expands our knowledge of the status of the new neighborhood that developed at that time on the slopes west of the Temple. It appears this area served as a center for high-ranking officials and ministers.”
In sum, Israeli officials said the fragment “holds enormous significance.”

“It opens a window into the diplomatic and administrative relations between Judah and Assyria — providing the first-ever evidence of official communication between Jerusalem and the most powerful empire of its time,” officials added.
Major hub tops list of airports most impacted by shutdown flight disruptions
The Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport has seen the most cancellations and delays so far Wednesday, according to FlightAware.com’s “Misery Map.”
The Atlanta airport currently has 12 delays and 24 cancellations, according to the map.
Chicago O’Hare International Airport ranked second on the list with 16 delayed flights and 18 cancellations as of Wednesday morning.
Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy spoke to air traffic controllers’ leadership at Chicago O’Hare International Airport on Wednesday about ongoing pressure their workforce is facing as the government shutdown stretches to a 43rd day.
Duffy noted that Chicago O’Hare is the busiest airport not only in the country, but the world.
“What the shutdown has really shown to the public is what we have been dealing with for the last 10 years. We’ve been working four days off a month at the world’s busiest airport for a decade,” the National Air Traffic Controllers Association (NATCA) representative at Chicago O’Hare told Duffy. “O’Hare needs controllers.”
“We have one of the most stressful jobs ever,” the head of the air traffic controllers’ leadership team told Duffy. “Working an inbound ground control session upstairs after an hour and a half, your brain is mush. Now if you have to go downstairs on your 30 minute break to go call creditors and say ‘I’m not going to be able to pay this. Can I have an extension?’ that’s just an added pressure, right?”
In an X post accompanying the video of their conversation, Duffy wrote, “At the world’s busiest airport, Chicago O’Hare, I checked in with a couple air traffic controllers and visited their tower.”
“Did you know that because of understaffing, many of their controllers are only able to take 4 days off PER MONTH?” he wrote. “Controllers, thank you for your dedication to serving our skies.”
National Air Traffic Controllers Association President Nick Daniels joined “Fox & Friends” on Wednesday and praised air traffic controllers who worked without pay as “American patriots.” He also scolded politicians, accusing them of using air traffic controllers as “pawns” in the shutdown.
“Air traffic controllers share the exact same frustration as the American flying public, that they should not be the pawns in any type of government shutdown,” Daniels said. He later added that the shutdown “needs to end tonight and it needs end now.”
Air travelers in the U.S. saw 884 flights cancelled and 626 delayed by 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday morning, according to FlightAware.com.
The impacted airports include major travel hubs, such as Chicago O’Hare International Airport, Dallas Fort Worth International Airport and Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.
Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy defended President Donald Trump against criticism from former Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg, accusing him of neglecting key aviation safety issues during his tenure.
“There were 85 near misses in the Potomac before the DCA air crash. Pete did nothing,” Duffy said on “Hannity.”
“He spent $80 billion on DEI and on climate change. He lowered the standards for training at the FAA. He focused on pronouns at the FAA, but never worked to fix the air traffic control system, didn’t work on bringing more air traffic controllers into the system, so what he’s trying to do is rewrite his record because he wants to run for president, but the truth is he barely showed up at the DOT.”
Duffy’s comments came after Buttigieg took to X to criticize Trump for urging air traffic controllers to return to work amid widespread flight disruptions.
“The president wouldn’t last five minutes as an air traffic controller,” Buttigieg wrote.
From Friday, Nov. 7, through Tuesday, Nov. 11, there were 39,438 U.S. flight delays and 9,231 cancellations, according to FlightAware.com. The website showed that air travelers were most impacted on Sunday, Nov. 9, with 11,229 U.S. delays and 2,954 U.S. cancellations.
On Monday, Nov. 10, there were 9,646 U.S. delays and 2,422 U.S. cancellations. The situation improved slightly Tuesday, Nov. 11, with a total of 4,001 U.S. delays and a total of 1,264 U.S. cancellations.
The disruptions are set to continue with a planned 8% reduction in flights on Thursday, Nov. 13, and a 10% reduction on Friday, Nov. 14.
Former FAA Safety Team representative Kyle Bailey told “FOX & Friends FIRST” that it is “100% safe to fly” despite the ongoing air travel disruptions.
Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent joined MSNBC’s Morning Joe to discuss the economic impact of the shutdown and the role air transport plays.
Bessent emphasized that the movement of people and goods are key to the economy.
“Well, it’s a core tenet of the economy, along with trucking and shipping,” he said.
“But in terms of business travel, I received several texts from airline executives over the weekend before we got news that the shutdown might be ending, saying they were quite worried for their businesses.”
Bessent’s remarks came as he highlighted the wider impact of the shutdown. He noted the uncertainty had caused concern across other industries.
“I don’t know what it could have cascaded into,” he said.
“One of the things I didn’t want to do was alarm Americans, but I got a panic notice the other night that said food inspectors were not getting paid and that they weren’t going to work. So, we actually could have had food shortages,” Bessent said.
Students fight back after teacher mocks Kirk assassination with ‘no remorse’
Students at a Rhode Island high school where a teacher mocked Charlie Kirk after his assassination are launching a Turning Point USA chapter to promote conservative values and free expression on campus.
“What inspired me personally to start this Turning Point chapter was the teacher at our school said after Charlie Kirk’s death, he made a TikTok about how he has no remorse over him and how he was a hateful person,” Brayden Ryan, vice president of the Turning Point USA chapter at Barrington High School in Rhode Island, told Fox News Digital in an interview Tuesday.
Shortly after Kirk’s public assassination Sept. 10 while speaking at Utah Valley University during his “American Comeback Tour,” social studies teacher Benjamin Fillo posted a video online saying that Kirk “hated the LGBTQ community” and “hated women’s rights.”
STUDENT AT OHIO UNIVERSITY SAYS PEERS TEARING DOWN FLYERS, SENDING HATE OVER NEW TURNING POINT USA CHAPTER
Fillo, who was placed on administrative leave after his video post, also said in a video that Kirk “thought he proved how tough he was with his words… What a piece of garbage. Look what happens… Bye, Charlie!”
When conservative activist and mother Nicole Solas issued a public records request to review Fillo’s curriculum, including handouts, assignments, videos, links, resources, guides, worksheets, workbooks, prompts and his emails, Barrington Public Schools said it would charge her $117,132 in order to gather all the materials. Solas is a mom living in a different school district whose kids are in a private school because the National Education Association Rhode Island (NEARI) sued her for sending public records requests four years ago.
Ryan, a freshman, said that starting the chapter has been “difficult” due to the political demographics of the area, but that he and fellow students are pushing ahead.
TURNING POINT USA SAYS CAMPUS CHAPTER REQUESTS SURGE TO OVER 32,000 AFTER KIRK’S ASSASSINATION
“I feel like we should give space to other students, a free and safe space to other students, other conservative students, to speak their own personal values, such as their religious beliefs and their political beliefs,” Ryan said.
Caleb Kaplan, president of the Turning Point USA chapter, told Fox News Digital that some have been supportive of their efforts, while others have campaigned to reinstate Fillo.
“I’m not going to name any names out of respect, but they have been campaigning or making petitions to get the teacher that we spoke about back in a position,” Kaplan said.

Kaplan, who is also a freshman, said the group tries to handle the pushback in a respectful way.
“We don’t reward hate with hate,” Kaplan said. “All we do is we push harder and we try to recruit more people to join.”
“Barrington High School students are always welcome and encouraged to pursue new clubs that reflect their interests,” Sarah Dell, spokesperson for Barrington School District, told Fox News Digital. “As with all proposed student organizations, there is a process outlined in our student activities protocol. The group of students expressing interest in forming a student Turning Point USA chapter has been provided that information. This is one of about a dozen new proposed student clubs currently moving through the same process.”
Fox News Digital has also reached out to Fillo for comment.
