The BBC has apologized to President Donald Trump as he continues to mull a $1 billion lawsuit against the network.

“Lawyers for the BBC have written to President Trump’s legal team in response to a letter received on Sunday,” a BBC spokesperson said Thursday. “BBC chair Samir Shah has separately sent a personal letter to the White House making clear to President Trump that he and the corporation are sorry for the edit of the president’s speech on 6 January 2021, which featured in the programme.”

The spokesperson said it has “no plans” to rebroadcast the documentary at the center of the controversy on any of BBC’s platforms.

“While the BBC sincerely regrets the manner in which the video clip was edited, we strongly disagree there is a basis for a defamation claim,” the spokesperson added.

OUTGOING BOSS INSISTS BBC ‘NOT INSTITUTIONALLY BIASED’ DESPITE STEPPING DOWN OVER TRUMP DOCUMENTARY SCANDAL

Neither the White House nor representatives of Trump’s legal team responded to Fox News Digital’s requests for comment.

The BBC has been hit with an onslaught of criticism over a BBC Panorama documentary about Trump’s Jan. 6, 2021, speech that he delivered before the attack on the U.S. Capitol. Critics believe the documentary was misleading because it omitted Trump urging supporters to protest “peacefully,” and stitched together remarks the president made nearly an hour apart to make it appear like one long statement.

TRUMP PUTS BBC ON NOTICE: RETRACT, APOLOGIZE FOR ‘FALSE, DEFAMATORY’ DOCUMENTARY OR FACE $1 BILLION LAWSUIT

Trump threatened a $1 billion lawsuit if the “false, defamatory, disparaging, and inflammatory statements” were not retracted immediately.

The controversy led to the resignations of BBC News CEO Deborah Turness and BBC director-general Tim Davie.

“I stepped down over the weekend because the buck stops with me. But I’d like to make one thing very clear, BBC News is not institutionally biased,” Turness told reporters outside the BBC headquarters in London on Monday.

“Our journalists aren’t corrupt. Our journalists are hardworking people who strive for impartiality, and I will stand by their journalism,” she added. “There is no institutional bias. Mistakes are made.”

Trump’s legal team feels “the BBC’s reckless disregard for the truth underscores the actual malice behind the decision to publish the wrongful content, given the plain falsity of the statements.”

BBC ANCHOR SPEAKS OUT ON GROWING ‘CRISIS,’ SAYS MAJORITY OF BOARD FEELS ‘INSTITUTIONAL BIAS’ AGAINST TRUMP

The president asked for “a full and fair retraction of the documentary,” a retraction of any other false statements, as well as an apology and compensation.

“If the BBC does not comply with the above by November 14, 2025, at 5:00 p.m. EST, President Trump will be left with no alternative but to enforce his legal and equitable rights, all of which are expressly reserved and are not waived, including by filing legal action for no less than $1,000,000,000 (One Billion Dollars) in damages. The BBC is on notice,” the letter stated.

The Telegraph broke the story when it published excerpts from a whistleblower dossier compiled by Michael Prescott, a communications advisor hired by the BBC to review its editorial standards.

The documents criticized some aspects of BBC coverage, including the Trump edit, reporting on transgender issues and alleged anti-Israel bias in the BBC’s Arabic service.

California to pull thousands of driver’s licenses after sparring with Trump admin

California is set to revoke commercial driver’s licenses (CDLs) issued to 17,000 immigrants after pressure from the Trump administration.

The licenses that are expected to be revoked would have expired after the driver was legally allowed to be in the country.

“After weeks of claiming they did nothing wrong, Gavin Newsom and California have been caught red-handed. Now that we’ve exposed their lies, 17,000 illegally issued trucking licenses are being revoked,” Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy said in a statement. “This is just the tip of the iceberg. My team will continue to force California to prove they have removed every illegal immigrant from behind the wheel of semi-trucks and school buses.”

The Transportation Department said that those impacted by the decision have been notified that their licenses no longer meet federal requirements and will expire in 60 days. However, California Gov. Gavin Newsom’s office said in a post on X that the federal requirements referenced were not in effect when the licenses were issued.

EXPERT REVEALS HOW ILLEGAL IMMIGRANT TRUCKER MAY HAVE GOTTEN COMMERCIAL LICENSE BEFORE FATAL FLORIDA CRASH

In the scathing social media post, Newsom’s office slammed Duffy over the Transportation Department’s statement on the matter, highlighting each point that it deemed to be a “lie.”

The first point that Newsom’s office pushed back on was the department’s assertion that the California Department of Motor Vehicles “admitted to illegally issuing” the 17,000 CDLs in question. Newsom’s office claims that the licenses were withdrawn because they were inconsistent with California law.

Newsom’s office also rejected the department’s statement that the drivers who received the licenses were illegal immigrants, saying that they were present in the U.S. legally and “had been granted work authorization by the federal government.”

Additionally, Newsom’s office disputed the claim that the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration’s (FMCSA) analysis showed that “more than one in four of the non-domiciled CDL records sampled in California failed to comply with federal regulations.” The California governor’s office claimed that FMCSA’s analysis was “based on retroactive application of its new rules” and said “FMCSA also faults California for following guidance explicitly approved by DHS.”

Duffy, however, hit back, saying, “We’ve said all along, [DOT] is reprimanding California for violating [FMCSA’s] ORIGINAL rules.”

“My emergency rule came as a consequence in part for California’s total disregard of those federal laws — it was THAT BAD,” Duffy added.

BLUE STATES DEFLECT BLAME IN TRUMP PROBE AFTER ILLEGAL IMMIGRANT TRUCKER CRASH KILLS 3 IN FLORIDA

California’s move to revoke the licenses came just one day before Harjinder Singh, who crossed into the United States illegally in 2018 and is accused of causing a fatal accident that left three people dead, faced a docket call hearing as the court reviews discovery issues and interpreter concerns.

Singh was charged with three counts of vehicular homicide after he allegedly attempted to make an illegal U-turn through an “Official Use Only” access point in Fort Pierce, Fla. When making the turn, Singh allegedly caused what Homeland Security called a “brutal wreck.” In August, Singh was extradited from California to Florida, where the accident took place.

Just days after the accident, officials investigating the wreck said that Singh failed English and road sign tests.

BLUE STATE INVESTIGATES HOW ILLEGAL IMMIGRANT TRUCKER GOT LICENSE BEFORE DEADLY FLORIDA CRASH

“During [FMCSA’s] interview with the driver, investigators administered an English Language Proficiency (ELP) assessment in accordance with FMCSA guidance,” the Department of Transportation said in a statement. “The driver failed the assessment, providing correct responses to just 2 of 12 verbal questions and only accurately identifying 1 of 4 highway traffic signs.”

In another instance, Jashanpreet Singh, an illegal immigrant from India who received a CDL from California, was charged with vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated and driving under the influence after allegedly driving while intoxicated and causing a crash that left three people dead.

Multiple federal law enforcement sources told Fox News that Singh was first encountered by Border Patrol agents in California’s El Centro Sector in March 2022 and released into the interior of the country pending an immigration hearing.

Louisiana senator mocks Chuck Schumer with creative joke after shutdown uproar

Sen. John Kennedy, R-La., gave his thoughts on what he considers to be a divide in the Democratic Party amid fallout from the longest government shutdown in U.S. history in an interview Thursday on “Will Cain Country.”

One impact of the shutdown, according to the senator from Louisiana, is the potential political shakeup within the Democratic Party that will land at the feet of Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer.

PROGRESSIVE DEMOCRATS TURN ON PARTY LEADERSHIP AFTER GOVERNMENT SHUTDOWN ENDS WITHOUT HEALTHCARE GUARANTEES

“Senator Schumer gambled, and he lost,” Kennedy said. “He’s kind of walking around now looking like a guy who just lost his luggage.”

“I think his testicles are on back order from China,” he added.

The power struggle, he said, is between what he called the “Bolshevik wing” of the party and old-guard politicians like Schumer. Schumer, Kennedy said, understands the “loons” within his party, but is “scared of them.”

The “socialist” wing of the party, according to Kennedy,” is led by Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y. The folksy senator acknowledged AOC’s media prowess but argued she doesn’t have much to offer policy-wise.

BERNIE SANDERS RIPPED AFTER CLASH WITH GOP AUDIENCE MEMBER OVER GOV’T SHUTDOWN BLAME: ‘JUST GOT WRECKED’

“The congresswoman is a creation of the media,” he said.

“I’ve never heard anybody describe her as a policy maven. My experience with her is if you scratch the surface, you just get more surface.”

Kennedy also proposed ideas to stop shutdowns in the future: No pay for members of congress while the government isn’t open.

Another idea he suggested was ensuring that members of Congress stay “within 100 miles of Washington, D.C.” during a shutdown.

“If you do that, the shutdowns, if you have any, will be very short,” Kennedy said. “Now I can’t pass the second provision, but I think I can pass the provision saying that none of us can be paid during a shutdown.”

Kennedy said he did not take any of his salary during the shutdown.

Fox News host Will Cain also asked the Louisiana senator about his thoughts on the filibuster, a buzzword that emerged time and time again during the 43-day shutdown.

A filibuster is a tactic used to impede or delay the Senate from completing its business by a small group — or sometimes even just one — of senators. To override a filibuster, 60 votes are needed by a party.

SENATOR RON JOHNSON WARNS GOP WILL BE IN ‘BIG TROUBLE’ IF PARTY IGNORES DEMOCRATS’ PLAN TO ‘NUKE’ FILIBUSTER

“The president called me last week — he’s dug in like a tick on getting rid of the filibuster. I told him, I kind of like the filibuster; I didn’t when I first came to the Senate,” Kennedy said. “But a senator’s job, I have learned, is not just to advance good ideas, it’s to kill bad ideas.”

He went on to reflect on what he said were “all of the bad ideas” proposed during former President Joe Biden’s time in office, saying that they would all be laws now if not for the filibuster.

Singer HyunA sparked fan concern after collapsing mid-performance Nov. 9.

The K-pop star fell to the ground while singing her hit song “Bubble Pop” at a music festival in Macau, a region in China.

She later took to social media after the health scare to apologize to fans.

Fans flooded HyunA’s comment section with messages of support for the K-pop star.

“The problem is not stamina or professionalism,” one fan wrote. “K-pop company must absolutely understand they need to treat idols correctly in terms of health and work charge. Even considering their view of it, idols look prettier when they’re healthy and happy than when they’re overworked and trying unnecessary and unhealthy weight losses. How can’t they understand that ? Big support to you.”

Another wrote, “Whoever told you to apologize has no soul. It’s probably the same person that put your health in this position. You can either listen to your body and take breaks when you need to or your body will take a break and likely during an inconvenient time. You’re too young to be dealing with this. HyunA’s collapse sparked concern among fans following a series of personal social media posts focused on her weight.

The pop star had shared a photo of a scale to her Instagram Nov. 4, just days before the music festival performance in China. HyunA revealed she still had a “long way to go” to make it to her ideal weight in the caption.

HyunA also shared a handful of photos seemingly encouraging herself to lose more weight at the beginning of October.

HyunA began her career in K-pop with the group Wonder Girls in 2007. She made her solo debut in 2010 with her single “Change.”

She released her EP “Bubble Pop!” in 2011.

After going solo, HyunA also performed in other groups, including Trouble Maker and Triple H.

MSNBC host makes stunning on-air slip about Trump during Epstein email segment

MSNBC host Jen Psaki accidentally suggested that President Donald Trump was a “predator” on her show Wednesday before quickly taking it back.

While speaking to Rep. Robert Garcia, D-Calif., about newly released emails from convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein that mentioned Trump, Psaki referred to other “predators” tied to Epstein “in addition to Trump” before she amended her statement.

“You’re talking about the other predators that are out there in addition to Trump,” Psaki said, quickly adding, “Not that — I’m not saying he is. We don’t know all the details about that.”

EPSTEIN VICTIMS SET TO BREAK SILENCE AMID BIPARTISAN PUSH TO RELEASE FILES: ‘PEOPLE ARE GOING TO BE OUTRAGED’

“I just mean, in addition to what we’ve learned about Epstein and others, there’s other predators out there,” she said.

“There are,” Garcia replied.

Psaki did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital’s request for comment.

On Tuesday, Democratic members of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee released tens of thousands of additional pages of documents from Epstein, the convicted sex offender who died by suicide in 2019. Emails included in the files referenced Trump.

In a 2011 email to his associate Ghislaine Maxwell, Epstein said Trump had spent a prolonged time at his house with one of the victims, whose name was redacted by Democrats. The White House said the unnamed individual was Virginia Giuffre.

“I want you to realize that that dog that hasn’t barked is Trump. [VICTIM] spent hours at my house with him, has never once been mentioned,” Epstein wrote in the email.

HOUSE OVERSIGHT COMMITTEE RELEASES THOUSANDS OF EPSTEIN DOCUMENTS

Democratic lawmakers, including Garcia, have argued that the emails indicate that Trump had a closer relationship with Epstein than he has previously acknowledged.

During his interview with Psaki, Garcia accused Trump of “hiding” details of the Epstein case from the public to protect men who allegedly abused girls connected to Epstein’s trafficking network.

“We want to know the truth there. But there are powerful men right now walking free that have raped girls and that there have been no consequences. And it is outrageous that Donald Trump is hiding this, hiding the facts — that the Department of Justice is hiding the facts — and that Mike Johnson and Republicans are complicit in supporting what Donald Trump is doing,” he said.

The White House accused Democratic lawmakers of leaking the emails to smear Trump.

“The Democrats selectively leaked emails to the liberal media to create a fake narrative to smear President Trump,” White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said in a statement to Fox News Digital.

“The ‘unnamed victim’ referenced in these emails is the late Virginia Giuffre, who repeatedly said President Trump was not involved in any wrongdoing whatsoever and ‘couldn’t have been friendlier’ to her in their limited interactions,” she added. “The fact remains that President Trump kicked Jeffrey Epstein out of his club decades ago for being a creep to his female employees, including Giuffre.”

Betting markets weigh in on chances NYC Mayor-elect Mamdani gets deported

Traders on prediction market platforms Kalshi and Polymarket are betting on the odds of New York City Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani‘s deportation by the end of the year.

It’s considered a long shot, but the fact that traders are wagering on it at all is striking.

Mamdani, elected Nov. 4 to lead the nation’s largest city, steps into power with a mandate to transform New York and a growing chorus of detractors watching closely.

THE SOCIALIST EXPERIMENT COMES TO NYC: MAMDANI’S VISION FOR A MORE AFFORDABLE CITY

Among them is President Donald Trump, who has questioned Mamdani’s citizenship. Born in Uganda, Mamdani became a naturalized U.S. citizen in 2018.

On Kalshi, the implied odds of Mamdani’s deportation have fallen to 3%, down from 8.5% on Nov. 5.

The trading volume, or the total dollar amount wagered on this market, sits a little over $10,000.

MAMDANI SAYS HE WILL MEET JAMIE DIMON, OTHER FINANCIAL TITANS IN NYC

Meanwhile on Polymarket, traders assign a 1% chance that Mamdani will face deportation with a little more than $5,753 waged on this market.

Kalshi and Polymarket let users bet real money on everything from politics and economic policy to sports and pop culture, transforming public sentiment into tradable market odds.

Mamdani, a progressive upstart from Queens, has placed affordability at the center of his agenda for New York City.

Colorado to replace admin who hired Deion Sanders: ‘Time for new leadership’

The man who hired Deion Sanders to lead the University of Colorado’s football team is set to step down.

Colorado athletic director Rick George announced Thursday he will be leaving his position at the end of the academic year. He will be staying with the university in a fundraising advisory role.

“After considerable thought and discussions with my family dating back to last spring, I have decided it is time for new leadership to guide the department,” George said in a statement.

“I look forward to doing everything I can to ensure a smooth transition. I also wanted to time my announcement so that I could support Coach Prime and our football team this season, which I’m looking forward to continuing in my new role.”

George has been Colorado’s AD since 2013 and made his biggest move in 2022 when he hired Sanders. Sanders led the Buffaloes to a bowl game appearance in 2024 but will not make a bowl game and will finish with a losing record for the second time in three seasons after a loss to West Virginia Saturday.

Colorado is 16-19 since Sanders took over, including 3-7 this season.

“This is not who we are. We’re better than this, and they deserve better than this. I want better than this. I feel like I coach better than this. I feel like we got players that are so much better than what the production is that we’re putting out,” Sanders said after Saturday’s loss to West Virginia.

DEION SANDERS REVEALS BIGGEST SURPRISE AT COLORADO’S HOME GAMES: ‘IT NEVER FAILS’

“So, then, you got to identify the coaches. That’s us, and that starts with me because I feel like we got the nucleus inside the locker room that we should be getting it done. I don’t think we played a team that’s this athletically and physically better than us. I really don’t, and I’ll stand on that.”

Last year, Colorado went 9-4, and Sanders signed a five-year, $54 million extension that puts him under contract through 2029.

George expressed confidence in Sanders earlier last week.

“I’m proud of Coach Prime. It’s been a tough year what he’s been through. He’s been a trooper, been working hard, motivating. He’s doing the things I want him to do as coach. We just gotta win more FB games,” George told reporters.

In July, Sanders announced doctors had removed his bladder after the discovery of a tumor.

Sanders said there has been no evidence of cancer since the surgery.

Doctors said a section of Sanders’ intestine was reconstructed to function as a bladder. Sanders faced questions about whether he’d be up for coaching after his health scare, but he remains steadfast in his commitment to Colorado.

A notorious criminal on El Salvador’s list of most-wanted gang members has been taken into custody on United States soil, according to federal officials.

Antonio Israel Lazo-Quintanilla was arrested in Maryland earlier this month after police caught him allegedly driving without a license, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) said in a news release.

While the arrest marks Lazo-Quintanilla’s first known run-in with the law in the United States, authorities learned he is wanted in his home country for numerous crimes, including aggravated homicide, extortion and possession of drugs, according to DHS.

DHS ARRESTS FIVE ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS CONVICTED OF SERIOUS CRIMES, INCLUDING MURDER AND CHILD ABUSE

“Seventy percent of ICE arrests are of criminal illegal aliens charged or convicted of a crime in the United States,” DHS Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin said in a statement. “This gang member on El Salvador’s most wanted list is a perfect example of ICE targeting the worst of the worst.

“He may lack a violent rap sheet in the U.S., but this criminal illegal alien is clearly a public safety threat.

“The media’s false claims that ICE is not arresting the worst of the worst simply has no grounding,” McLaughlin added. “In reality, ICE is arresting criminal illegal aliens before they can victimize Americans.”

Lazo-Quintanilla, whose mugshot shows a large “666” tattoo across his forehead, is also “a confirmed member of the 18th Street Gang” in El Salvador, which has been designated a foreign terrorist organization (FTO) by the Trump administration, according to DHS.

VP calls out top Democrats for rejecting ‘exact deal’ that reopened government

Vice President JD Vance gave his first public remarks on the federal government officially reopening, telling “Hannity,” the shutdown inflicted massive pain on Americans “all for nothing.”

“Here’s what the Democrats actually accomplished. They caused a lot of stress for our troops. They made our air traffic controllers not get paid. They caused a lot of flight cancellations. They had a lot of people thinking they weren’t going to get their food benefits. All for literally nothing,” Vance told Fox News host Sean Hannity in an interview set to air Thursday.

Vance claimed the House deal that ended the shutdown was identical to one top Democrats rejected weeks earlier.

SPEAKER JOHNSON ACCUSES DEMS OF CHOOSING POLITICS OVER HUNGRY AMERICANS AFTER HOUSE VOTES TO REOPEN GOVERNMENT

“We could have struck this exact deal 45 days ago,” the vice president said. “In fact, we met with Hakeem Jeffries and Chuck Schumer and said we will pass this exact deal. They said no.”

The vice president went on to praise President Donald Trump’s leadership during the 43-day standoff, saying they “knew this was going to happen.”

“The president of the United States said every day eventually the Democrats were going to realize this was an absurd position, we’ve got to reopen the government and that’s what they did,” Vance said.

President Trump signed legislation to fund the government again Wednesday night. He signaled Monday the government would open soon, as consequences of a lapse in funding continued to snowball, including missed paychecks for federal workers and airline delays stemming from air traffic controller staffing shortages.

The bill keeps government funding at the same levels during fiscal year 2025 through Jan. 30 to provide additional time to hash out a longer appropriations measure for fiscal year 2026.

The measure also funds the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) that more than 42 million Americans rely on through September. The program supports non- or low-income individuals or families to purchase groceries on a debit card.
