EXCLUSIVE: Hollywood action star Lorenzo Lamas recoiled at the thought of California Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom leading the United States in the country’s highest elected office.
“A President Newsom? God forbid,” Lamas remarked during an exclusive interview with Fox News Digital.
“You have to look at the state of California. Do voters out there in our wonderful, beautiful nation want to elect a person who’s failed the state of California so pitifully? I hope not.”
Lamas, who is best known for his action roles in the 80s and 90s, said he is breaking his political silence to endorse Sheriff Chad Bianco, a pro-law enforcement Republican, for California governor. He said that the Newsom administration has had a “devastating” impact on California. So much so that he believes the state may be ready to send the first Republican to the California governor’s mansion since Arnold Schwarzenegger left in 2011.

“I love the state of California. It’s my home. I’ve lived in other parts of the nation. And as beautiful as this country is, California is my home,” Lamas explained, adding, “A lot of my friends have moved out of the state of California because of the burdensome tax situation, politics have forced people out of the state. But I’m sticking it out. I’m here in California because I believe in fighting here in California for what Californians deserve. And that’s why I’m supporting Chad Bianco.”
But with Newsom’s tenure as governor coming to a close due to California term limit laws, there is growing speculation that he is eyeing a Democratic presidential run in 2028. This has been further confirmed by statements by Newsom, such as a segment on CBS News in which he said “I’d be lying” if he said he was not considering a run.
Already one of the Democratic Party’s most recognizable leaders, Newsom has further emerged as one of the leading critics of President Donald Trump and his administration. This has further solidified his position among the top contenders to challenge the Republican who will succeed Trump.

Lamas, however, shared a warning to the nation about a Newsom presidency, saying, “The impact on the state of California with the [Newsom] administration is nothing short of devastating.”
He pointed to the rising homeless population in Los Angeles and San Francisco and the lack of preparedness for natural disasters, such as the Palisades fires, as evidence of what he called severe mismanagement by state leadership.
“So much money has been budgeted for programs to help these people, and I see no difference other than it’s growing. So, where’s the money?” he said. “There’s nobody that’s accounting for the millions of dollars that are spent on welfare programs that’s not benefiting anybody that can use it. So, it’s a tremendous amount of mismanagement. And I think Governor Newsom has done a horrific job in accountability about where the money’s gone.”
He also pointed to Newsom’s outspoken opposition to the Trump administration’s immigration crackdown.

“The problem with the undocumented is that it’s systemic,” said Lamas. “When you have sanctuary cities, you have higher crime rates. And listen, I’m a Christian, I believe that we’re all God’s children. But I also believe that we have laws that need to be obeyed, laws that need to be followed. And without law, there’s complete chaos.”
He said that the way Newsom and local leaders “have treated the federal government in terms of coming in and removing criminals and people that are here in our country illegally is horrendous.”
A spokesperson for Newsom’s office dismissed Lamas’ criticisms, responding to Fox News Digital’s request for comment on the criticisms with a one-word statement asking, “Who?”

Sayin is also competing for a national championship with the Buckeyes. Ohio State is the No. 2 seed in the College Football Playoff after losing to Indiana in the conference title game. Sayin had to compete for the starting job in the summer and was thrust into the role without much collegiate experience.

Untreatable tropical virus prompts CDC alerts for Americans heading abroad
U.S. health officials have issued travel advisories for Americans planning trips to certain tropical countries amid outbreaks of an untreatable mosquito-borne disease.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) announced Friday that it has issued Level 2 travel advisories for Cuba, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Guangdong Province in southern China, advising Americans to “practice enhanced precautions” when visiting these areas.
Health officials say there are currently no treatments for chikungunya, but the disease is vaccine-preventable, and vaccination is recommended for travelers to affected areas.
The most common symptoms of the virus include fever and joint pain, though patients may also experience headache, muscle pain, joint swelling or a rash, according to health officials. Symptoms typically appear three to seven days after being bitten by an infected mosquito, and most people recover within a week.

In severe cases, some may experience severe joint pain lasting months or even years while others “may require hospitalization because of the risk of organ damage and death,” according to the World Health Organization (WHO).
According to an Oct. 3 notice from WHO, there have been 445,000 suspected and confirmed cases of chikungunya and 155 deaths worldwide between January and September 2025.
In Bangladesh, WHO reported 700 suspected chikungunya cases in the capital, Dhaka, between January and September 2025, citing the Institute of Epidemiology, Disease Control and Research.

As of late September, a total of 16,000 locally transmitted chikungunya cases have been confirmed in Guangdong Province, China, marking the largest documented outbreak of the disease in the country to date.
Between January and late September, 34 confirmed cases of chikungunya were reported in Cuba, and public health interventions have been implemented to contain the outbreak.
In Sri Lanka, a total of 150 confirmed chikungunya cases were reported between Jan. 1 and the second week of March 2025, WHO said, adding that cases reportedly peaked in June.

The CDC warned that Americans traveling to Brazil, Colombia, India, Mexico, Nigeria, Pakistan, the Philippines and Thailand may also face an increased risk of chikungunya infection, even if no outbreak is currently reported.
The U.S. has not seen any locally acquired chikungunya cases in its states or territories since 2019.
Suspected assassin pumps fist as cops allegedly find bullets wrapped in wet underwear
Luigi Mangione pumped his fist in court Monday as body-camera footage allegedly showed officers finding a loaded magazine tucked inside wet underwear in the suspected assassin’s backpack.
Mangione returned to Manhattan Criminal Court on Monday morning for day 5 of hearings to determine whether some evidence will be excluded from his trial. Mangione is accused of murdering UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson in December 2024.
Body camera video aired in court showed Altoona, Pennsylvania, Police Officer Christy Wasser, searching through Mangione’s backpack when he was arrested and allegedly finding a magazine with bullets wrapped in wet underwear that was inside the alleged assassin’s backpack.
“There was another magazine hidden in his underwear,” Wasser can be heard saying.

As Wasser held up the magazine with bullets inside, someone can be heard saying, “it’s f—— him.”
Wasser testified she went to the McDonald’s in Altoona, Pennsylvania on her own accord to assist Officer Joseph Detwiler, and subsequently began searching Mangione’s backpack as he was placed under arrest.
As she was looking through the bag, a now-handcuffed Mangione invoked his right to remain silent when officers asked if there was anything inside that they should be worried about. Wasser testified that this move heightened her concern, and she began searching the bag for a bomb – despite never ordering any of the restaurant staff or patrons out of the area.
Wasser’s search subsequently yielded the magazine, which prompted her to be instructed to finish the search and return to the police station, according to her testimony. However, she went on to tell the courtroom that two of her fellow officers debated if the search should continue, with two officers disagreeing on if a search warrant was needed or if probable cause existed.

Mangione was arrested at the McDonald’s on Dec. 9, 2024. An employee at the fast-food restaurant reportedly recognized Mangione and told a co-worker, who then alerted the police. He faces numerous state and federal charges in relation to the alleged murder.
The suspected assassin’s lawyers are asking the judge to suppress evidence that was taken from his backpack following the arrest, in addition to statements he gave to police when he was taken into custody at the McDonald’s.
Mangione’s lawyers argued Fourth and Fifth Amendment concerns, which protect against unreasonable searches and seizures as well as the right to due process. Prosecutors say that police acted within the law, arguing that the warrantless search of Mangione’s bag after his arrest was legal, adding that the only non-Mirandized statement he gave was allegedly giving officers a fake name.

Last week, prosecutors released the 911 call which led to Mangione’s arrest in Pennsylvania.
“I’m a manager at Plank Road McDonald’s out here on the boulevard,” a McDonald’s manager told the 911 dispatcher. “And I have a customer here, that some other customers were suspicious of, that he looks like the CEO shooter from New York.”
The evidence suppressing hearings will resume on Tuesday morning.

Congress blocks Pentagon’s troop withdrawal as war secretary issues warning
Congress is moving to limit the Pentagon’s ability to pull forces out of Europe and South Korea, easing concerns among allied governments.
The 2026 National Defense Authorization Act, finalized by House and Senate negotiators and released Sunday evening, keeps force presence at roughly its current levels in both regions. It states that the U.S. cannot reduce its forces in Europe below 76,000 without submitting an assessment and certifying to Congress that such a move would not harm U.S. or NATO security interests.
The bill places restraints on reductions below 28,500 in South Korea. Any drawdown would require the Pentagon to assure Congress that deterrence against North Korea would not be weakened, confirm that allies were consulted, and provide both a national security justification and an assessment of regional impact.

Whether those ideas reflected genuine planning or were intended as pressure on allies to invest more in their own defenses, U.S. leaders have recently signaled they are stepping back from such moves even without congressional restrictions.
During a meeting last week with U.S. national security officials and European leaders, American officials told their counterparts that Europe must be prepared to bear the brunt of NATO’s defense responsibilities by 2027, three European officials familiar with the meeting told Fox News Digital.
The U.S. plans to hold onto the SACEUR position but will offer some other senior NATO military posts to European nations, officials said. They also noted that Washington has no near-term plans for major troop reductions in Europe.
“We’ve been very clear in the need for Europeans to lead in the conventional defense of Europe. We are committed to working through NATO coordination mechanisms to strengthen the alliance and ensure its long-term viability as European allies increasing take on responsibility for conventional deterrence and defense in Europe,” Pentagon press secretary Kingsley Wilson said in response.

Gov. Greg Abbott vowed to expand Club America chapters into every Texas high school and warned districts against blocking them as he and Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick cast Turning Point USA’s (TPUSA’s) youth movement as a moral mission inspired by the late Charlie Kirk’s legacy.
TPUSA calls its high school chapters “Club America,” and typically they set up tables on their school campus to promote TPUSA, while also bringing in conservative speakers once per semester.
Abbott and Patrick framed the surge of TPUSA’s Club America chapters as a values-driven effort to shape the next generation, arguing that public schools should welcome the groups or face disciplinary action if they do not.

Growing delistings reveal a shifting housing mood as sellers rethink their asks
Home sellers have struggled to get the price they’re looking for in the market this year, which has contributed to an influx of delistings, according to a Realtor.com report.
Realtor.com’s monthly housing trends for November found that delistings in the month of October were up 38% compared with the same month last year. Additionally, delistings over the course of 2025 to date are up about 45% from the same period in 2024, the report found.
Roughly 6% of listings since June have been removed from the market by their sellers each month, which has sealed 2025 as the year with the highest delisting rate since Realtor.com began tracking in 2022.
“The delisting trend is a perfect personification of the stagnant and frustration-filled housing market,” said Realtor.com senior economist Jake Krimmel. “With buyers and sellers far apart, the sellers’ solution is to pull that trump card and delist, rather than cut prices.”

The report said that 2025 has been particularly unusual as delistings typically slow in the summer because of elevated buyer activity, before rising during the fall and winter when buyer activity slowed down before trying again the following spring.
Krimmel said that delistings arrived early this year and were up 48% from a year ago in June, when there was expected to be an increase, then it jumped again in July when the delisting rate was 57% higher than last year.
“Sellers came to market and inventory in many metros boomed, but the buyers never really showed up this summer,” Krimmel said. “Between higher than expected interest rates and home prices, low consumer sentiment, and broader economic uncertainty, demand was extremely low.”

The ratio of delistings to new listings reached 0.27 in October, about the same as August. That means 27 homes were delisted from the market, up from 20 a year ago. It also means that one home was delisted for every three to four new listings in October.
Delistings have been the most common in areas in the South and West, which had relatively higher inventory levels and have seen price declines as a result.
Miami had the highest ratio of delistings to new listings at 45 in October, down from 60 in August but up from 34 a year ago.
Denver ranked second with 39 new listings per 100 new listings, up from 37 in August and 24 in October 2024.

Los Angeles and Riverside, California, completed Realtor.com’s top five ranking with delisting ratios of 33 and 32, respectively.
Krimmel said that for the number of delistings to decline, buyers and sellers need to find an equilibrium through factors like greater certainty about the economy and inflation, lower interest rates and clearer guidance on the Federal Reserve’s policies, plus more realistic pricing.

“Many 2025 would-be sellers now have the lived experience of a failed listing. If they relist in 2026 with more realistic pricing and terms, delistings could normalize,” Krimmel explained.
