EXCLUSIVE: New photos obtained by Fox News Digital show Vice President JD Vance training with U.S. Navy SEALs in California — a 90-minute workout the vice president later said left him feeling like he’d been “hit by a freight train.”

Images show Vance carrying logs, rowing in the ocean, running on the beach and climbing a rope obstacle course alongside a group of SEALs.

“Just finished PT with the Navy SEALs for 90 minutes,” Vance wrote in an X post Monday. “They took it easy on me and I still feel like I got hit by a freight train.”

Vance used the moment to praise the military’s special operations forces, writing that he is “so grateful to all of our warriors who keep us safe and keep the highest standards anywhere in the world.”

The vice president participated in multiple stages of SEALs training at a facility in Coronado, California, per a source familiar. Many of the SEALs’ faces have been blurred to protect their identities.

Vance is a U.S. Marine Corps veteran who served in the Iraq War. He enlisted in 2003 and deployed to Iraq in 2005 with the 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing, where he worked in public affairs.

The vice president previously has said his time in uniform shaped his views on national security, the costs of war and the responsibility leaders bear when sending troops into harm’s way.

Navy SEALs are among the U.S. military’s most elite special operations forces, known for grueling physical standards and missions ranging from counterterrorism to maritime operations.

The post aligns with broader messaging from Trump administration officials emphasizing physical readiness across the armed forces.

Chiefs are heading to Kansas for new $4B stadium deal after taxpayers reject funding

The Kansas City Chiefs made a major announcement on Monday, as they revealed their move from Missouri and Arrowhead Stadium to a new domed stadium in Kansas.

The Chiefs, in conjunction with Kansas Gov. Laura Kelly and NFL commissioner Roger Goodell, announced in a joint statement from owner and chairman Clark Hunt that the team will be heading to Kansas City, Kansas, following a meeting of the Kansas Legislative Coordinating Council.

“Today we are excited to take another momentous step for the future of the franchise,” Hunt’s announcement read. “We have entered into an agreement with the State of Kansas to host Chiefs football beginning with the 2031 NFL season.

“In the years ahead, we look forward to designing and building a state-of-the-art domed stadium and mixed-use district in Wyandotte County, and a best-in-class training facility, team headquarters, and mixed-use district in Olathe, totaling a minimum of $4 billion of development in the State of Kansas.”

Kelly added: “This agreement to bring the Chiefs to Kansas takes our state to the next level. With this new stadium, we’re creating thousands of jobs, bringing in tourists from around the world, attracting young people, and most importantly, we’re continuing to make Kansas the best place in America to raise a family. This is a game-changer for Kansas, and it’s a signal to America and the world that our state’s future is very bright.”

The Chiefs will remain at Arrowhead Stadium with its lease lasting through the 2030 season. But there certainly will be some bittersweet feelings considering how long the Chiefs have played at their current home.

ANDY REID SIGNALS RETURN IN 2026 AS CHIEFS NAVIGATE PATRICK MAHOMES’ INJURY, TRAVIS KELCE’S FUTURE: REPORT

Since 1972, the Chiefs have played at Arrowhead Stadium, which the late Lamar Hunt was instrumental in building in Missouri. It is, however, the third-oldest stadium in the NFL today, with only the Chicago Bears’ Soldier Field and Green Bay Packers’ Lambeau Field built prior.

But the big question for football fans remains: Why are the Chiefs moving?

It has been an ongoing debate for some time, but it revolves around ultimately who will help the Chiefs more in building their home of the future. Kansas outbid Missouri, and the former state’s STAR (Sales Tax and Revenue) bonds will be covering up to 70% of the cost of the new stadium.

Missouri did approve a plan this past summer that would pay up to half of the cost of the new stadiums for not only the Chiefs, but MLB’s Kansas City Royals as well.

The Chiefs and Royals share the same space at the Truman Sports Complex, but the baseball organization is looking to build its own new home and leave Kauffman Stadium in the past. The Royals were not involved in Monday’s announcement.

Voters in Jackson County, the jurisdiction that owns the Truman Sports Complex, blocked an extension of a 3/8-cent sales tax, which would’ve funded improvements to Arrowhead Stadium while helping finance a new Royals stadium. As such, both franchises were forced to look at other options, and the Chiefs made a big move here.

“The benefit to the entire region will be monumental,” Hunt’s announcement continued. “A stadium of this caliber will put Kansas City in the running for Super Bowls, Final Fours, and other world class events. A brand new training facility and headquarters will allow the Chiefs to continue to attract top talent. And the vision for a new mixed-use district will rival that of any sports-anchored development anywhere in the country.”

To further Hunt’s statement above, a domed stadium makes the new Chiefs home not just a possible Super Bowl destination, but would also play host to many other sporting and cultural events in the future.

Hunt did acknowledge how hard it is going to be to say goodbye to the city and place his father worked so hard to bring to Missourians and so many others who have supported the Chiefs for decades.

“It will be difficult to bid farewell to Arrowhead Stadium in a few years. Like so many of you, Arrowhead reminds me of family memories and unforgettable moments. But the truth is, what makes Chiefs game days so special is you. Seats don’t make noise, concrete doesn’t intimidate opponents, parking lots don’t cook barbecue. You do.”

Joy Reid doubles down on attacks against Erika Kirk over hugging joke at TPUSA event

Far-left podcaster and former MSNBC host Joy Reid doubled down on her attacks against Turning Point USA president Erika Kirk after the latter’s jabs at Reid during AmericaFest 2025.

During her opening remarks at the TPUSA conference on Thursday, Kirk joked that Reid could use a “really good hug” and that she’d even touch the back of her head. This was in reference to Reid disparaging Kirk for the way she hugged Vice President JD Vance during a Turning Point USA event.

Reid reiterated on her show Friday that Kirk looked “very intimate” with Vance “in her saucy hot pants” and pushed back on Kirk’s offer for a hug.

2028 POWER MOVE: TURNING POINT’S ERIKA KIRK THROWS SUPPORT BEHIND JD VANCE AS MAGA ‘HEIR APPARENT’

“The last thing I will say to Erika Kirk is this: Dear young lady, I don’t need a hug from you,” Reid said. “First of all, I would never let you get close enough to hug me ’cause I don’t trust you. And second of all, I don’t know if anybody ever told you – you’re pretty young – but don’t be offering to touch Black women’s hair. We don’t allow it. This is not the 19-teens. It’s not the 1920s or the 1930s. You cannot come up to me, touch me, or touch my hair. It won’t go. I don’t allow it. So, don’t offer to do that because that’s not going to happen.”

Reid also stood by her suggestion that Vance could leave his “Brown Hindu” wife to be with a “White queen” like Kirk to appeal to the MAGA base, claiming it was the MAGA base who were attacking Usha Vance’s race.

JOY REID REPOSTS VIRAL VIDEO CALLING ‘JINGLE BELLS’ RACIST AS CHRISTMAS CAROL FACES NEW SCRUTINY

“MAGA is the one doing the racism. Not me. All I’m saying is the ultimate MAGA fairytale would be for JD to leave Usha Vance alone and go run off with Charlie Kirk’s widow. It brings like the houses of MAGA together,” Reid said.

She told Kirk that she should instead focus on appealing to “White Christian nationalists” as a working single mom.

“You need to take care of minding your business, which is to keep that $80 million rolling in and figure out how you’re going to get those White Christian nationalists who follow Turning Point USA to understand why you working and not home with your children who now don’t have a daddy,” Reid said. “You are now a single mom, which they oppose.”

She continued: “You’re going to have to now figure out how you’re going to explain to your Turning Point USA base why you working and why you out rubbing on JD Vance’s back of his head and offering to rub on the back of mine instead of home with your kids because their ideology is that your behind should be in your house. That’s all I’m going to say.”

Trump unveils ‘Golden Fleet’ of Navy battleships, touts them as ‘more powerful than any’ ever built

President Donald Trump announced a new fleet of ships Monday, known as the “Golden Fleet,” as he revealed he approved plans for two new “very large battleships.”

“As you know, we’re desperately in need of ships. Our ships are some of them have gotten old and tired and obsolete,” Trump said, flanked by Secretary of State Marco Rubio, War Secretary Pete Hegseth and Navy Secretary John Phelan.

Trump said the new ships would be “100 times more powerful than any battleship ever built,” in an address from his Mar-a-Lago estate in Palm Beach, Florida.

NAVY SECRETARY WARNS SHIPYARDS MUST ‘ACT LIKE WE’RE AT WAR’ AS CHINA’S AI-POWERED FLEET RACES AHEAD

Renderings behind the president showed the new “Trump class,” including one named the USS Defiant.

“We haven’t built a battleship since 1994. These cutting-edge vessels will be some of the most lethal surface warfare ships … other than our submarines.”

Trump said the Navy would immediately start procuring two ships, working up to 10 and eventually 20 ships to 25 ships in total, and would aim to have the first two within two and a half years.

Trump described the ships as heavily armed platforms combining missiles and traditional naval guns, arguing that gun-based firepower could deliver combat effects at a fraction of the cost of missiles. Each ship would displace more than 30,000 tons to 40,000 tons and serve as a flagship of the U.S. fleet, he said.

The president said the battleships would be equipped with advanced weapons, including hypersonic missiles, electric rail guns and high-powered laser systems, as well as nuclear-capable sea-launched cruise missiles currently under development. Trump also said the ships would feature state-of-the-art defensive systems and carry what he described as “tremendous numbers of missiles.”

Trump denied that the ships were meant to counter China.

“It’s a counter to everybody. It’s not China, we get along great with China,” Trump said.I have a great relationship with President Xi and it’s not China. It’s, just everybody you don’t know who comes along, but, we just wanted peace through strength.”

The announcement comes amid an ongoing debate within defense circles over the future of the U.S. fleet, with recent naval strategy emphasizing submarines, unmanned systems and more distributed surface forces.

Some defense planners have argued that large surface ships can be more visible and vulnerable targets in modern, missile-heavy conflicts, while others argue larger platforms can provide greater firepower, endurance and command-and-control capabilities.

He pointed to World War II-era shipbuilding as a model, noting that the U.S. once produced multiple ships per day, compared with what he described as today’s slower production pace.

Trump also tied the battleship announcement to a broader push to accelerate U.S. defense production. He said he plans to meet next week with major defense contractors to demand faster delivery timelines, increased capital investment in new factories, and limits on stock buybacks and executive compensation.

“We make the best equipment in the world, but they don’t make it fast enough,” Trump said, arguing that companies should reinvest profits into production capacity rather than dividends and buybacks.

“I mean, I have sold more planes than any president by far times, probably 20. So every time I go someplace, I sell 100 planes,” he said. “And I’m always having to say five years, six years, seven years helicopters, Apache helicopters, many years.”

The announcement comes at a time when the Trump administration has elevated shipbuilding to a White House–level priority, establishing a dedicated office to oversee maritime industrial policy and signaling a broader push to expand U.S. naval capacity.

Defense leaders for years have warned that the U.S. shipbuilding industrial base has struggled to keep pace with demand, citing workforce shortages, fragile supplier networks, aging infrastructure, and persistent delays at major shipyards.

Navy leaders have long pointed to shifting requirements and design changes after construction has begun as another factor driving delays and cost growth in major shipbuilding programs.

In April, Trump signed an executive order declaring the erosion of America’s shipbuilding and maritime workforce a national security risk, directing a government-wide overhaul aimed at expanding domestic shipbuilding, stabilizing long-term funding, strengthening the workforce and countering China’s dominance in global ship production.

Inside the Navy, Phelan has echoed that urgency, warning that the service must “act like we’re at war,” with shipbuilding and weapons production speeds. He has moved to overhaul the Navy’s acquisition culture, launching a new Rapid Capabilities Office designed to cut development timelines, enforce accountability and push new technology into the fleet faster than traditional Pentagon procurement allows.

TRUMP WANTS TO REVIVE THE LAGGING US SHIPBUILDING INDUSTRY. HERE ARE THE HURDLES HE FACES

U.S. officials warn the shipbuilding crunch is colliding with an enormous capacity gap with China: the Office of Naval Intelligence has assessed that China has roughly 230 times the shipbuilding capacity of the United States, a disparity that has helped Beijing expand its fleet far faster than American yards can produce new hulls.

While U.S. officials say the Navy retains a technological edge in areas such as undersea warfare and carrier operations, they warn that China’s growing fleet size and industrial capacity are narrowing that advantage.

The U.S. Navy currently operates about 294 warships, while China now fields the world’s largest navy by hull count, with more than 370 ships in service.

At the same time, several of the Navy’s marquee programs have struggled with delays and cost growth, including the Columbia-class ballistic-missile submarine, the Virginia-class attack submarine and the Constellation-class frigate, which has faced schedule pressure amid design and requirements changes.

Steelers star learns fate after fan altercation in midst of team’s playoff push

Pittsburgh Steelers star wide receiver DK Metcalf was suspended two games by the NFL for an altercation with a fan during the team’s win over the Detroit Lions on Sunday.

The league said Metcalf’s actions violated league policy, which states that “players may not enter the stands or otherwise confront fans at any time on game day and…if a player makes unnecessary physical contact with a fan in any way that constitutes unsportsmanlike conduct or presents crowd-control issues and/or risk of injury, he will be held accountable.”

Metcalf was seen grabbing at the Lions fan’s shirt and Honolulu blue wig, while taking a swing at him before walking back to the bench. The CBS broadcast caught the interaction, though officials didn’t see Metcalf involved in any incident as he continued to play in the 29-24 victory on the road. He had four catches for 42 yards.

The fan in question, identified as Ryan Kennedy, denied using explicit or derogatory language toward Metcalf, but rather told the Detroit Free Press that he called Metcalf by his full name – DeKaylin Zecharius Metcalf – and it sparked fury.

“A little shocked. Like everyone’s talking to me. I’m a little rattled, but I just want the Lions to win, baby,” the fan, who was identified as Ryan Kennedy, told the newspaper.

“What, my full name isn’t is DeKaylin Zecharius Metcalf,” he added. “He doesn’t like his government name. I called him that and then he grabbed me and ripped my shirt.”

Kennedy put out a statement through a Michigan law firm later, saying that accusations of him using hateful language were false.

The NFL told the Free Press that it couldn’t intervene regarding an ejection because the incident didn’t happen on the field. But after clearly seeing Metcalf get involved, they laid down a massive suspension considering the Steelers’ playoff hopes.

Metcalf will reportedly appeal the suspension.

Pittsburgh owns a two-game lead over the Baltimore Ravens in the AFC North after the latter fell to the New England Patriots on Sunday night. The Steelers need one more win to clinch the division, but the absence of Metcalf could affect how the Steelers operate on offense.

The Steelers play the 3-12 Cleveland Browns in Week 17, followed by a regular-season finale against the Ravens at Acrisure Stadium in Pittsburgh in Week 18.

“I heard about it, but I hadn’t seen it,” head coach Mike Tomlin said of Metcalf’s incident after the game. “I hadn’t had an opportunity to talk to DK.”

Metcalf didn’t meet with the media after the game. He has the right to appeal the suspension if he wishes.

The pilot of a private jet reportedly made an eerie discovery while flying thousands of feet over Rhode Island, marking the latest in unexplained encounters baffling both experts and civilians alike.

Newly resurfaced video shared on YouTube in October by the VASAviation channel reveals the head-scratching moment the pilot radioed to the ground team at Rhode Island T.F. Green International Airport regarding a mysterious small, silver cylinder hovering near the wing of his aircraft, telling Air Traffic Control (ATC), “It appears to be standing still.”

“Looks like a strange, small object that we just floated by,” the pilot told ATC, according to the clip. “A small silver canister. Do you know what that could be?”

ATC went on to inform the pilot there were no other reports regarding an object in the area and asked the pilot if it could be a drone or balloon.

“I saw nothing attached to it,” the pilot responded, according to the clip. “It was sort of hovering there. It was astonishing. I don’t know what it was.”

The object was reportedly seen floating near the right wing tip of the Piper PA-32RT-300T Turbo Lance II at an altitude of 3,500 feet, before flying alongside the aircraft and later disappearing from view.

“Creepy,” the ground team can be heard saying on the radio, with ATC joking, “Good luck with the aliens.”

Rob and Michele Reiner’s children Romy and Jake have spoken out about their parents, just one week after their sibling Nick was arrested and charged with two counts of murder.

“Jake and Romy Reiner remain grateful for the outpouring of love and support they have received,” their spokesperson shared with People magazine.

“They will share information about a memorial service honoring their parents at a later date,” the spokesperson added.

Their latest statement comes after Romy and Jake broke their silence on Dec. 17, three days after their parent’s murder.

“Words cannot even begin to describe the unimaginable pain we are experiencing every moment of the day. The horrific and devastating loss of our parents, Rob and Michele Reiner, is something that no one should ever experience. They weren’t just our parents; they were our best friends,” they told People last Wednesday.

“We are grateful for the outpouring of condolences, kindness, and support we have received not only from family and friends but people from all walks of life. We now ask for respect and privacy, for speculation to be tempered with compassion and humanity, and for our parents to be remembered for the incredible lives they lived and the love they gave,” they added.

On Sunday, just one week after Nick Reiner was arrested for murdering his parents in their Brentwood, California, home, Lucas Reiner — the brother of the late Hollywood director — was photographed arriving at their sister Annie’s Los Angeles home along with various friends and family members.

The extended family members were seen hugging one another as they gathered together.

OBAMAS PLANNED TO MEET REINERS ON NIGHT THEY WERE KILLED, FORMER FIRST LADY REVEALS

On Sunday, Dec. 14, police discovered the bodies of Rob and Michele in the primary bedroom of their home in Brentwood, California. The Los Angeles County Medical Examiners’ office later said that they died due to multiple sharp force injuries.

Nick was quickly named a person of interest in the investigation, and hours later, around 9:15 p.m. local time that same day, he was arrested.

The night before the murders, family friends of the Reiners told the Los Angeles Times that Nick got into an argument with his parents at O’Brien’s Christmas party. Many people noticed Nick was behaving strangely, according to the outlet.

“Nick was freaking everyone out, acting crazy, kept asking people if they were famous,” a source also told People magazine.

On Dec. 16, authorities charged Nick in the double homicide of his parents. He was charged with two counts of first-degree murder with a special circumstance of multiple murders.

“He also faces a special allegation that he personally used a dangerous and deadly weapon, that being a knife,” Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan Hochman said during a press conference. “These charges carry a maximum sentence of life in prison without the possibility of parole, or the death penalty.”

No decision has been made on whether prosecutors will seek the death penalty.

However, if the death penalty is pursued, Nick would not be executed due to the moratorium instituted by California Governor Gavin Newsom in 2019.

While the executive order did not repeal capital punishment in California, it has halted all executions indefinitely, Oakland criminal defense lawyer Jo-Anna Nieves told Fox News Digital.

HOLLYWOOD DIRECTOR ROB REINER’S SON NICK IN CUSTODY FOLLOWING DEATH OF HIS PARENTS

“The executive order issued by Gavin Newsom halted executions, closed the execution chamber at San Quentin, and paused lethal-injection protocols, but it did not repeal the death penalty or invalidate death sentences imposed by courts,” Nieves said. “California still has the death penalty on the books, and prosecutors are legally permitted to seek it in eligible cases.”

“Practically speaking, even if prosecutors pursue the death penalty against Nick Reiner and obtain a conviction and death sentence, no execution would occur under the current moratorium,” she added. “The sentence would legally exist, but its enforcement would remain suspended unless the moratorium is lifted by a future governor or the law is changed through legislation or voter action.”

The moratorium, however, could be overturned once a new governor is elected in 2026.

During Tuesday’s press conference, Hochman also told reporters that they will take the “thoughts and desires of the family into consideration” when it comes to Nick’s sentencing.
