In a resurfaced tweet and video clip, a top housing official in newly minted New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani’s administration previously called homeownership a “weapon of white supremacy” and argued that property should be treated as a “collective good.”

Cea Weaver, a longtime housing activist and member of the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA), was tapped by Mamdani to be his director of the Mayor’s Office to Protect Tenants.

Since taking office, Weaver has gone viral for several tweets she posted on her since-deleted X account.

A screenshot of an Aug. 21, 2019, tweet shows Weaver writing that “private property including and kind of ESPECIALLY homeownership is a weapon of white supremacy masquerading as ‘wealth building’ public policy.”

In an earlier tweet from Dec. 18, 2017, Weaver also called to “elect more communists.”

MAMDANI ANNOUNCES NEW OFFICE OF MASS ENGAGEMENT; SAYS HE NEEDED A ‘CLEAN SLATE’ TO GOVERN NEW YORK CITY

In a DSA video from March 2021 that has since gone viral, Weaver said, “I think the reality is that for centuries, we have really treated property as an individualized good and not a collective good.”

She went on to say that “transitioning to treating it as a collective good towards a model of shared equity, will require that we think about it differently.”

Weaver said this “will mean that families, and white families especially, but some POC [people of color] families who are homeowners as well, are going to have a different relationship to property than the one that we currently have.”

In response, U.S. Assistant Attorney General for Civil Rights Harmeet Dhillon told Fox News that the “Civil Rights Division of the DOJ is on high alert as to the radical agenda promised by Mayor Mamdani, much of which is at odds with our federal Constitutional and civil rights norms.”

BISHOP ROBERT BARRON SLAMS ZOHRAN MAMDANI ‘WARMTH OF COLLECTIVISM’ LINE: ‘FOR GOD’S SAKE’

Dhillon said the DOJ “will not hesitate to take legal action to protect the civil rights of New York City residents.”

Before joining the Mamdani administration, Weaver was a longtime housing activist and served as executive director of Housing Justice for All and the New York State Tenant Bloc.

In a statement announcing Weaver’s appointment, Mamdani said: “You cannot hold landlords who violate the law to account unless you have a proven principled and tireless fighter at the helm. That is why I am proud today to announce my friend Cea Weaver as the Director of the newly reinvigorated Mayor’s office to protect tenants.”

In the statement, Weaver said she was “humbled and honored to join Mayor Mamdani’s administration – and to stand with him on his very first day in office as he makes clear where his priorities lie: with the millions of tenants in New York City who have been mistreated for too long by negligent landlords.”

MAMDANI-LINKED DEMOCRATIC SOCIALISTS DEMAND TRUMP FREE MADURO FROM LOCKUP — AND SEND HIM BACK TO POWER

Weaver said that “our work will only grow and this newly revitalized office marks a new era of standing up for tenants and fighting for safe, stable, and affordable homes.”

Motorcycle-riding armed militia flood Venezuelan streets targeting Trump supporters

In the aftermath of Nicolás Maduro’s capture by United States forces, paramilitary groups tied to the Venezuelan leader’s regime have initiated an aggressive campaign to maintain control over the country.

Mobs of motorcycle-riding civilians often armed with assault rifles, known as colectivos, have been conducting intrusive searches and establishing checkpoints to identify and punish anyone showing support for Maduro’s removal from power, Reuters reported.

The National Union of Press Workers of Venezuela reported that armed forces briefly detained fourteen journalists during Monday’s induction of Vice President Delcy Rodríguez as the country’s interim leader. Residents have also reported that some Venezuelans have been afraid to leave their homes, fearing that armed forces would seize and scour their phones for signs of dissent, The Telegraph said.

“The future is uncertain, the Colectivos have weapons, the Colombian guerrilla is already here in Venezuela, so we don’t know what’s going to happen, time will tell,” Oswaldo, a 69-year-old Venezuelan shop owner, told The Telegraph.

The colectivos are largely controlled by Nicolás Maduro’s close ally, Diosdado Cabello, who has a $25 million bounty from the U.S. State Department largely for his role in corruption and drug trafficking.

VENEZUELA’S NEW INTERIM LEADER DELCY RODRÍGUEZ ‘HATES THE WEST,’ EX OFFICIAL WARNS

Cabello, who serves as the state’s Minister of Interior, Justice and Peace, is widely known for suppressing political dissent in Venezuela. The presence of colectivos, who often serve as an unofficial arm of state repression, suggests that Maduro loyalists are desperately trying to maintain their grip on the country.

The reported crackdown began with a government directive to root out dissent against the Venezuelan regime. According to Reuters, a state of emergency decree published on Monday ordered police to “immediately begin the national search and capture of everyone involved in the promotion or support of the armed attack by the United States.”

FROM PALACE TO PRISON: VENEZUELAN STRONGMAN MADURO LOCKED IN TROUBLED BROOKLYN JAIL

As someone who conducts state-run domestic espionage through widespread coordination of surveillance and counterintelligence agencies, Cabello remains a major unpredictable and dangerous figure in the wake of Maduro’s capture, Reuters reported.

“The focus is now on Diosdado Cabello,” Venezuelan military strategist Jose Garcia told the outlet. “Because he is the most ideological, violent and unpredictable element of the Venezuelan regime.”

Reuters reported that the former military officer was also recently spotted patrolling Venezuelan streets with security forces.

In a social media post by the Venezuelan government, footage reportedly showed Cabello posing with a crowd of armed militia as they shouted, “Always loyal, never traitors.”

Reuters added that in recent weeks, Cabello was also seen on television ordering Venezuela’s military counterintelligence agency to “go and get the terrorists” and warning “whoever strays, we will know.”

He reportedly repeated the same rhetoric in a state television appearance Saturday, wearing a flak jacket and helmet and surrounded by heavily armed guards.

Despite the removal of Maduro, the loyalist crackdown on dissent and the media suggests that the ruling party has no intention of relinquishing its grip on power.

Michael Reagan, the elder son of former President Ronald Reagan and actress Jane Wyman, has died at 80, according to his surviving family. He died on Sunday.

The announcement was shared by Young America’s Foundation, who said the organization released the statement on behalf of the Reagan family.

“It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Michael Edward Reagan,” his family said in a statement. “Michael was and will always remain a beloved husband, father, and grandpa. Michael was called home to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 4th, surrounded by his entire family in Los Angeles, California. Our hearts are deeply broken as we grieve the loss of a man who meant so much to all who knew and loved him. “

“We appreciate your prayers and ask that you would respect our family’s privacy during this difficult time,” the statement concluded.

Reagan was a conservative author, nationally syndicated radio talk show host and frequent public speaker who spent decades actively defending and promoting his father’s legacy through close involvement with the Reagan Library and Foundation.

The Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation and Institute said it “mourns the passing of Michael Reagan,” describing him as “a steadfast guardian of his father’s legacy.”

“Michael Reagan lived a life shaped by conviction, purpose, and an abiding devotion to President Reagan’s ideals,” the Foundation said in the statement.

The Foundation also cited President Reagan’s own words about his son from “An American Life,” quoting the former president as writing, “When I read his book, I had even more of a fatherly pride in Mike than I had had before…. he was happy and at peace with himself.”

Michael Reagan’s death marks “a profound loss,” the Foundation said, adding that his “presence, warmth, and unwavering commitment will be deeply missed at the Reagan Library and far beyond its walls.”

John Harbaugh shown the door after 18 years as Ravens fire head coach in shocking move

The Baltimore Ravens have fired veteran head coach John Harbaugh after 18 seasons, the team announced on Tuesday.

The decision comes two days after Harbaugh’s 2025 squad was unable to secure the AFC North title, losing in heartbreaking fashion to the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 18.

“Following a comprehensive evaluation of the season and the overall direction of our organization, I decided to make a change at head coach,” Ravens owner Steve Bisciotti said in an official statement. “Today I informed John that he has been relieved of his duties.

“This was an incredibly difficult decision, given the tremendous 18 years we have spent together and the profound respect I have for John as a coach and, most importantly, as a great man of integrity.”

The Ravens also posted a statement from Harbaugh.

“Well, I was hoping for a different kind of message on my last day here, someday, but that day has come today. It comes with disappointment certainly, but more with GRATITUDE & APPRECIATION,” Harbaugh said.

“Gratitude to the owner and organization who was willing to bring in a head coach who made his mark with Special Teams success. A difficult thing to do… and Appreciation for all the moments, all these years, that are etched into eternity. I hope a legacy built on Faith, always Fighting, always Believing.”

It was a game that looked like it would end in a miraculous comeback for the Ravens on Sunday when rookie kicker Tyler Loop lined up for a 44-yard field goal to win the division and secure the No. 4 playoff seed in the AFC.

However, Loop’s kick went hard to the right as it flew through the Pittsburgh air, and the crowd went ballistic with the Steelers winning the division instead.

There was talk about whether this could be the end to Harbaugh’s storied time in Baltimore. And while Harbaugh’s firing didn’t happen on “Black Monday” like other organizations, the Ravens are heading in a new direction for the first time since 2008.

Harbaugh quickly becomes the top head coaching candidate for teams searching to fill their own vacancies. Those teams include the New York Giants, Atlanta Falcons, Tennessee Titans, Cleveland Browns, Arizona Cardinals and Las Vegas Raiders.

BROWNS FIRE HEAD COACH KEVIN STEFANSKI AFTER SIX SEASONS

Harbaugh owned a 180-113 record and a 13-11 postseason record during his 18 seasons with the franchise. He led the Ravens to a Super Bowl victory during the 2012 season after going 10-6.

Harbaugh, the brother of Los Angeles Chargers head coach Jim Harbaugh, has the most road playoff victories in NFL history, showcasing his pedigree when the game matters most.

It shouldn’t be long before reports surface that Harbaugh has head coaching interviews on his calendar, considering teams are already working to hire new coaches to solidify their seasons in 2026.

As for the Ravens, there are available coaches like Kevin Stefanski, who the Ravens are familiar with given his last six seasons in the AFC North with the Browns. Raheem Morris is also on the move after the Falcons fired him after missing the playoffs.

The 63-year-old Harbaugh’s NFL coaching career began as the special teams coordinator with the Philadelphia Eagles in 1998 after stops in college at Western Michigan, Pitt, Morehead State, Cincinnati and Indiana.

Harbaugh spent 10 seasons in Philadelphia, nine as the special teams coordinator before getting his crack at a head coaching gig with the Ravens. He went 11-5 in his inaugural season and quickly developed the franchise into a formidable force in the AFC.

Through his 18 seasons, Harbaugh has only had a losing record three times, with his worst mark being the 2015 campaign at 5-11. The other two were 8-9 seasons in 2021 and 2025.

Harbaugh secured double-digit victories in 11 of those 18 seasons, including three straight from 2022-24.

The White House said Tuesday that President Donald Trump views acquiring Greenland as a national security priority and that the use of the U.S. military remains an option as his administration weighs how to pursue control of the Arctic territory.

“President Trump has made it well known that acquiring Greenland is a national security priority of the United States,” White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said in a statement to Fox News.

“The President and his team are discussing a range of options to pursue this important foreign policy goal, and of course, utilizing the U.S. Military is always an option at the Commander in Chief’s disposal.”

The comments mark the clearest statement to date from the White House suggesting military force could be considered, as Trump renews pressure on Denmark over Greenland’s strategic role in U.S. defense and missile detection in the Arctic.

DEM SENATOR INTRODUCES BILL TO STOP TRUMP FROM INVADING ‘ANOTHER COUNTRY ON A WHIM’ OVER GREENLAND

European leaders and Canada rallied behind Greenland on Tuesday following Trump’s renewed push to gain control of the Danish territory, according to Reuters. Leaders from France, Britain, Germany, Italy, Poland, Spain and Denmark said Greenland belongs to its people and that only Denmark and Greenland can decide the island’s future.

Arizona Democrat Sen. Ruben Gallego also announced Tuesday a bill to stop Trump from invading ‘another country on a whim’ over Greenland after Operation Absolute Resolve captured Venezuelan dictator Nicolás Maduro over the weekend.

“What’s happening in Venezuela shows us that we can’t just ignore Trump’s reckless threats. His dangerous behavior puts American lives and our global credibility at risk. I’m introducing this amendment to make it clear that Congress will not bankroll illegal, unnecessary military action, and to force Republicans to choose whether they’re going to finally stand up or keep enabling Trump’s chaos,” Gallego said in a statement on the legislation.

TRUMP WARNS ‘SICK’ SOUTH AMERICAN LEADER, REITERATES ‘WE NEED GREENLAND’ FOR NATIONAL SECURITY

Louisiana Gov. Jeff Landry, who was named as Trump’s special envoy to Greenland last month, said in an interview with CNBC that “security should be a major concern for the United States.”

“We need Greenland from the standpoint of national security, and Denmark is not going to be able to do it,” Trump said during a press gaggle Sunday aboard Air Force One.

According to a joint statement issued Tuesday by the leaders of France, Germany, Italy, Poland, Spain, the United Kingdom and Denmark: “Arctic security remains a key priority for Europe, and it is critical for international and transatlantic security.”

The leaders said NATO has made clear the Arctic’s importance and stressed Denmark’s role, including Greenland.

“NATO has made clear that the Arctic region is a priority and European Allies are stepping up. We and many other Allies have increased our presence, activities and investments, to keep the Arctic safe and to deter adversaries. The Kingdom of Denmark – including Greenland – is part of NATO.”

The statement said Arctic security must be handled collectively with NATO allies, including the U.S., while upholding sovereignty and borders.

The statement closed by arguing Arctic security must be achieved collectively while affirming sovereignty, saying Greenland’s future can only be decided by Denmark and Greenland.

FIRST ON FOX: Months before a dentist and his wife in Ohio were found shot to death in their own home, a woman called 911 from the same address to report what the dispatcher described as a “domestic dispute.” After hanging up initially, the caller told the 911 operator, “me and my man got into it,” according to newly obtained records.

Police responded to the Columbus, Ohio house around 10 a.m. on Dec. 30 when they found Spencer Tepe, 37, and Monique Tepe, 39, both dead with apparent gunshot wounds, officials said. Two young children were located inside the house unharmed. Police don’t believe their deaths were a murder-suicide, adding there were no signs of forced entry and no weapon was found, according to WSYX.

Fox News Digital obtained a 911 call placed by an unknown female at the same house where Spencer and Monique were killed, who told the operator, “me and my man got into it.” The call was placed on April 15 at 2:45 a.m., according to records. The woman could be heard crying throughout the call before telling police she no longer needed officers to come.

Columbus officials didn’t include a name for the caller in the dispatch logs.

Read a transcript of the call below:

Operator: “Hi, this is 911. We just got a hang-up call. Is everything OK?”

Female voice: “Yeah, I’m sorry. I’m OK.”

Operator: “Are you sure?”

Female voice: “Yeah, yeah, I’m OK, sorry.”

Operator: “Well, it sounds like you’re crying. Do you need police, paramedics or anything?”

Female voice: “No, no. No, I’m OK. I promise. I’m just emotional. [inaudible]”

Operator: “Well, can I ask what had you called 911 in the first place?”

Female voice: “Because me and my man got into it, but I’m OK, I promise.”

Operator: “Did anything ever get physical?”

Female voice: [Crying] “No.”

Operator: “You guys were just arguing, nobody hit each other?”

Female voice: “M’hm, yes.”

Operator: “Well, I have the information here. I can go ahead and tell the officers to cancel heading over to your address…If anything changes, call us back.”

Female voice: “Yes, yes, yes, I’m sorry…OK, I’m sorry.”

A dispatcher at the Columbus Emergency Communications Center coded the call as a “domestic dispute,” later writing that assistance was “no longer needed.”

The Columbus Division of Police on Monday evening released surveillance video showing a “person of interest” walking in the alley near the Tepes’ residence in the early morning hours of Dec. 30. Detectives believe the murders took place between 2 a.m. and 5 a.m. on Dec. 30.

OHIO POLICE HUNT KILLER AFTER DENTIST, WIFE FOUND SHOT TO DEATH WITH CHILDREN SAFE INSIDE HOME: TIMELINE

The video, released by the Columbus Division of Police, shows the man walking slowly in an alley near the Weinland Park home where Spencer and Monique lived. He’s seen in what appears to be a dark coat and light-colored pants.

The first 911 call placed on Dec. 30 came from Spencer’s employer, Mark Valrose, who owns Athens Dental Depot. While Valrose said he was vacationing in Florida at the time, several of Spencer’s co-workers became worried after he didn’t show up for work, saying that’s extremely unlike him.

“Spencer works with me and he did not show up to work this morning and we cannot get ahold of him or his family,” Valrose said. “He is always on time and he would contact us if there is any issues whatsoever… we’re very, very concerned because this is very out of character and we can’t get in touch with his wife, which is probably the more concerning thing.”

At 10:03 a.m., one of Spencer’s friends went to the Tepes’ house and told a 911 operator that he could see a body inside.

“There’s a body,” the person can be heard saying. “Our friend wasn’t answering his phone. We just did a wellness check. We just came here and he appears dead. He’s laying next to his bed, off of his bed in this blood. I can’t get closer to see more than that.”

POLICE SEEK SUSPECT AFTER DENTIST AND WIFE FOUND SHOT DEAD AT HOME WHILE 2 YOUNG CHILDREN ARE UNHARMED

In a statement released Friday, the couple’s family said they are “heartbroken beyond words,” and called the deaths “tragic and senseless.”

“They were extraordinary people whose lives were filled with love, joy, and deep connection to others,” read the statement. “Spencer, a graduate of The Ohio State University, was known as a devoted and proud father, a loving partner, and a friend to everyone he met,” the family statement said, adding that he was “intelligent, warm, and endlessly welcoming.”

Golden Globes host explains why one celebrity is off-limits for jokes at awards show

Nikki Glaser revealed the one A-Lister that she doesn’t dare to roast when she returns as host of the Golden Globe Awards on Sunday.

The 41-year-old comedian, who became the first woman to host the awards ceremony solo last year, was tapped as emcee again after earning overwhelmingly positive reviews for her debut.

During a Tuesday appearance on “CBS Mornings,” Glaser shed some light on what the awards attendees and viewers can expect from her performance this year. She explained that she has been testing her material for the upcoming show at some of her stand-up gigs and admitted that there was one star that she would avoid mocking.

GOLDEN GLOBES HOST NIKKI GLASER RIPS ALEC BALDWIN, NICOLE KIDMAN IN JOKES TOO PROVOCATIVE FOR TV

“I’m trying out my monologue around LA at the clubs here and just even any joke about Julia Roberts, they are not there for,” she said.

“You cannot make fun of America’s sweetheart,” she continued. “Whatever I end up saying about her, that is the most fine-tuned joke that I’ve worked on so hard, because it is very delicate.”

“I mean, they were booing, and I was like, ‘Is she here?’” Glaser added. “It’s insane.”

“Nikki, Julia is everywhere,” “CBS Mornings” host Gayle King said.

JULIA ROBERTS JOKES ABOUT HOW MANY ‘MOVIES LEFT’ IN HER CAREER, FEELS A ‘COMPULSION’ TO RETURN TO THEATER

“Yeah, she’s all around us always,” Glaser agreed.

King noted that Glaser had contacted some celebrities last year for their input regarding jokes she planned to make about them and asked if she had reached out to anyone this year.

“Not yet, but I was wondering if anyone there had Sean Penn’s number because I would like to get his approval,” she said with a laugh. “Last year I was able to reach out to Benny Blanco. I had a friend of a friend who knew him and he seemed like someone I could kind of cold text, but I don’t even know if Leo [DiCaprio] has a phone.”

EMMYS HOST NATE BARGATZE PROMISES NO POLITICAL JOKES AT AWARDS SHOW AFTER KIRK ASSASSINATION

“There’s certain people that I don’t even know what I would say,” Glaser continued. “It’s almost like some of these jokes you think about, ‘OK, if I got their number, would I write them and ask them?’ And then I go, ‘You know what, they might say no.’ And I know the joke isn’t that mean. I would rather ask for forgiveness later at the after party when they’re drunk.”

The “Trainwreck” actress explained that she viewed the Golden Globes hosting gig as a “covert mission” since she has to please both the viewers at home and the stars in the audience at the ceremony.

“You have to be very delicate about making jokes that aren’t going to ruin anyone’s night, but you also want to give the people at home something to laugh at, and you want to poke fun at the people that they’re dying for you to make fun of,” she said. “Like people at home want you to make fun of the A-listers.”

“They want you to make them feel a little bit uncomfortable,” Glaser added. “So, it’s covert in the sense that I want to get away with those jokes without just ruining the vibe in the room. So, it’s really strategic, and it’s one of the most difficult jobs I’ve ever had is picking the perfect jokes.”

Glaser has previously participated in several celebrity roasts, including those of Rob Lowe, Bruce Willis and Tom Brady and she has become known for her scathing jabs and fearless takedowns. The comedian was hailed as one of the standout performers at Brady’s roast in May 2024, which significantly raised her profile and led to her selection as the Golden Globes host for the 2025 awards show.

During her appearance on “CBS Mornings,” Glaser noted that her approach to performing at a roast differed from how she handles Golden Globes hosting duties.

“I leave the mean for the roast,” she said. “I think people have known me as like, ‘Wow, she tells really mean jokes.’ I really save that for the roast because that’s the place to do them. People have signed up for that.”

“This, I feel like, I don’t know, I am a huge fan of these people, and this year’s a little bit different because we have so like many huge A-listers that I grew up kind of really admiring, and it’s easy for me to take down the newer batch of actresses and actors who are younger than me,” Glaser explained.

“It’s like ‘OK, I can make fun of you. I’m like a veteran,'” she continued. “But when it’s like people that I grew up admiring, it’s ‘Oh my gosh.’”

State becomes top spot for job seekers as more Americans move in

Economic headwinds, particularly in the job market, have driven a “fundamental shift in American migration patterns,” according to United Van Lines’ 49th Annual National Movers Study.

The study, published last week, showed that there is still population movement from colder North and Midwest regions to the warmer South and West regions.

Oregon topped this year’s list, having the highest percentage of inbound migration, with 65% being people moving into the state. The remaining 35% were people leaving, according to the data. Oregon became the most popular state for job-seeking migrants. About 36% of the relocations were people moving in for opportunities in growing tech and healthcare fields.

The Eugene-Springfield metro accounted for the most inbound moves. Springfield, specifically, offers a lower cost of living than other Oregon metro and is relatively close to both Eugene and Portland.

HOUSING MARKET EXPECTED TO OFFER LITTLE RELIEF FOR BUYERS IN 2026 DESPITE MODEST IMPROVEMENTS AHEAD

Migration patterns are primarily driven by the desire to be closer to family, followed by the job market, according to the report. However, aside from job opportunities, Realtor.com senior economist Joel Berner said a major trend among the states attracting the most inbound movers is affordability.

“This is well-evidenced by the half-ring of top inbound states surrounding California while the Golden State registers as a top outbound one,” Berner said.

He added that movers who are searching for an affordable cost of living combined with ample job opportunities are targeting growing states like Oregon and South Carolina, where homes are relatively affordable and job opportunities abound.

THESE 10 MARKETS MAY SEE THE BIGGEST HOMEBUYING SURGE AS MORTGAGE RATES FALL

While Oregon is home to many high-paying tech jobs, Berner noted that South Carolina has emerged as a major manufacturing state.

In comparison, more residents moved out of New Jersey than any other state for the eighth consecutive year. About 62% of moves tied to the state involved residents moving out. But about 21% of inbound moves to New Jersey were people aged 18-34, as the state is considered a “launch state” for younger families and those looking to start careers.

FED CUTS INTEREST RATES FOR THIRD STRAIGHT TIME AMID UNCERTAINTY OVER LABOR MARKET, INFLATION

New Jersey, according to Berner, has seen stronger price growth compared to much of the rest of the nation. This can be enticing for older Americans who may be able to take advantage of the opportunity to sell their home for a high price and retire elsewhere, including South Carolina.

It would help them avoid high mortgage and property tax payments, he added.

Federal prosecutors on Tuesday released transcripts of short videos they say were recorded by the gunman responsible for a mass shooting at Brown University and the killing of an MIT professor in Massachusetts.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Massachusetts said investigators recovered an electronic device containing the videos when they executed a federal search warrant on Dec. 18, 2025, at a storage facility used by Claudio Manuel Neves Valente, whom authorities described as “the Portuguese national responsible for the senseless murders.”

The videos were recorded in Portuguese and later translated into English, prosecutors said. In the recordings, Neves Valente described the attack as the culmination of long planning.

“It’s done. It was, it was six months, man. Not six months, six semesters. Uh. I had already planned this for a little more,” he said in one video, according to the transcripts.

DISPATCH RECORDS FROM BROWN UNIVERSITY SHOOTING CAPTURE CHAOS OF DEADLY CAMPUS ATTACK

Authorities said Neves Valente identified Brown University as his intended target but did not provide a motive for shooting students at Brown or for killing the MIT professor, Nuno Loureiro, 47. Prosecutors said the investigation into a motive will continue.

Two Brown students, Ella Cook, 19, and Muhammad Aziz Umurzokov, 18, were killed in the Dec. 13 shooting on the Providence, Rhode Island, campus, and nine other people were wounded, authorities said. Just two days later, Loureiro, a professor at MIT, was killed in Brookline.

In the transcript, Neves Valente repeatedly refused to express remorse.

“So, what has been done now… I’m in a storage space in Salem, I’ve had this here for three years, I think. “I am – I am sane,” he said. “I’ve always been, more or less [sane].”

Neves Valente also said President Donald Trump was right to “have called me an animal, which is true.”

“I am an animal, and he is also, but uhm, I have no love–I have no hatred towards America, I also have no hatred at all. This was an issue of… of opportunity.”

Prosecutors said Neves Valente “showed no remorse” during the recordings and blamed victims for their deaths.

In the transcript, he criticized people’s responses during the shooting, saying, “Because they were kind of stupid.”

He also dismissed how the world would view him after he carried out the mass shooting on the college campus.

“I don’t give a d— about how you judge me or what you think of me,” he said, while also saying, “I also have no interest in being famous.”

Throughout the transcript, he focused on the injury he sustained, saying: “As you can see, my eye is kind of f—– up.”

An autopsy previously found Neves Valente died by suicide two days before his body was discovered in a storage unit in Salem, New Hampshire.
