Trump drops bombshell endorsement, throwing key Senate race into turmoil
Three days after President Donald Trump exploded a political bomb in Louisiana’s Senate race by endorsing Republican Rep. Julia Letlow over incumbent GOP Sen. Bill Cassidy, Letlow announced her campaign.
Letlow declared her candidacy at a closed-door business breakfast in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Tuesday morning, according to Republican sources.
And in a social media post and video that shortly followed, Letlow emphasized that “Louisiana deserves a conservative Senator who will not waver. I am honored to have President Trump’s endorsement and trust.”
Trump’s support of Letlow, who was elected in 2021 after her husband Luke died from COVID shortly before taking office in the House, is a serious setback for Cassidy, a physician and chair of the powerful Senate Health committee who is running for a third six-year term in the solidly red state.
“Congresswoman Letlow called me this morning to say she was running. She said she respected me and that I had done a good job,” Cassidy said in a statement after Letlow’s announcement. “I will continue to do a good job when I win re-election. I am a conservative who wakes up every morning thinking about how to make Louisiana and the United States a better place to live.”
Trump’s endorsement of Cassidy’s challenger creates a major political headache for Senate Majority Leader John Thune, who is backing Cassidy and teamed up with the senator last week in Louisiana.
Trump upended an already crowded GOP Senate primary in Louisiana on Saturday night, with a social media post making it clear that if the 44-year-old Letlow launched a Senate campaign, she’d have his backing.
GOP TOUTS TRUMP AS THEIR ‘SECRET WEAPON,’ BUT POLLS FLASH WARNING SIGNS AHEAD OF MIDTERMS
“Should she decide to enter this RACE,” Trump wrote on social media, “Julia Letlow has my Complete and Total Endorsement. RUN, JULIA, RUN!!!”
Letlow hinted at launching a Senate run following Trump’s post on X, writing, “My mission is clear: to ensure the nation our children inherit is safer and stronger. This United States Senate seat belongs to the people of Louisiana, because we deserve conservative leadership that will not waver.”
ELON MUSK POURS A STAGGERING $10 MILLION INTO THIS KEY GOPS SENATE PRIMARY
There was speculation for months that Letlow was mulling a Senate bid and a Republican source confirmed to Fox News that the congresswoman, who represents a district that covers parts of central and northeastern Louisiana, had indicated that she wouldn’t challenge Cassidy without Trump’s backing.
A separate Republican source confirmed to Fox News that Trump had reached out to Thune on Friday to give the Senate’s top Republican a heads-up on the Letlow endorsement.
Thune continues to support Cassidy, who was also previously endorsed by the National Republican Senatorial Committee, which is the Senate GOP’s campaign arm.
But the deep-pocketed Senate Leadership Fund (SLF), which is the top super PAC supporting Senate Republicans and is aligned with Thune, is staying neutral in Louisiana.
DEMOCRATS EYE NARROW PATH TO SENATE MAJORITY, BUT ONE WRONG MOVE COULD SINK THEM
“The mission of the Senate Leadership Fund is to preserve and expand the Republican Senate majority. Anything that distracts from our efforts to beat Democrats in November is unhelpful,” SLF Executive Director Alex Latchum wrote in a statement to Fox News Digital.
Word that SLF was staying out of the GOP primary in Louisiana was first reported by Punchbowl News.
The 68-year-old Cassidy reiterated over the weekend that he’s staying in the race.
“I’m proudly running for re-election as a principled conservative who gets things done for the people of Louisiana,” Cassidy wrote on social media following Trump’s bombshell. “If Congresswoman Letlow decides to run, I am confident I will win.”
Cassidy had nearly $10 million in his campaign coffers at the end of October, after his last fundraising filing, with Letlow holding nearly $2.3 million cash on hand. But a burst of campaign cash will likely flow Letlow’s now that she’s launched a Senate campaign.
The senator — who voted to convict Trump in the Senate impeachment trial following the Jan. 6, 2021 attack on the U.S. Capitol by Trump supporters aiming to upend congressional certification of former President Joe Biden’s 2020 election victory — early last year supported Trump’s controversial cabinet nominees, including Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. for Health secretary.
But the Make America Healthy Again (MAHA) PAC, which has close ties to Kennedy, announced on Sunday that it would financially support Letlow.
Louisiana State Treasurer John Fleming, a former congressman who served in Trump’s first administration, is also challenging Cassidy.
“A recent poll shows our campaign expanding our lead on Bill Cassidy, while Cassidy’s numbers continue to drop,” Fleming noted on social media two days after Trump’s endorsement of Letlow.
State Sen. Blake Miguez and state Rep. Julie Emerson are also running for the GOP Senate nomination, and former Rep. Garrett Graves is mulling a bid.
Trump’s endorsement of Letlow increases speculation on whether he’ll take sides in the combustible and competitive GOP Senate primary in Texas ahead of the early March primary.

Brandon Johnson cries White supremacy as Chicago’s schools and kids collapse
The only reason I am doing my Walk Across America is because of the kids who are caught in the crossfire of failing policies, broken education systems and leaders who prioritize everything except their future. In Chicago, under Mayor Brandon Johnson’s watch, we have a city screaming for help, but instead of listening, he’s fixated on ICE raids, shielding illegal immigrants, showing solidarity with Minneapolis and even weighing in on foreign policy in Venezuela. Why? When our own streets are stained with the blood of our children, and our schools have failed for years?
Just when you think it can’t get worse, it does. In a recent video, Johnson declared, “If we don’t push back against Trump and ICE with everything that Black people used to get ‘us free,’ we’re going to find ourselves subjugated to tyranny. One thing is for sure: Not in Chicago.”
But hold on — the same man who claims those sacrifices “got us free” is the one who constantly cries about inheriting a “White supremacist system” full of ongoing oppression and racism. Which is it, Mayor Johnson? Are we free, or are we still subjugated? You can’t have it both ways just to fit your narrative. And why drag our ancestors’ legacy into shielding the city from federal law? That’s not honoring their fight. That’s exploiting it.
WHY WOULD A CITY MAYOR DEFEND A DICTATOR WHILE HIS OWN STREETS CONTINUE TO BURN?
If you want to know the real truth, there’s a population in our city that is not as free as it could be — a population that is constantly denied equality of opportunity, a population that is exploited by the left as “evidence” of systemic racism — and that population is the kids. If White supremacy is truly behind this oppression of our kids, I want to know who’s behind it so we can protest them out of power.
But everyone I see in positions of power is largely Black. Mayor Johnson is Black. Most of his administration is Black. The superintendent of police is Black. The Cook County state’s attorney was Black until recently. The chief judge of the Cook County Circuit Court is Black. The Illinois attorney general is Black. The Chicago Fire Department commissioner is Black. The Cook County Board president is Black. The state Senate majority leader is Black. The Illinois lieutenant governor is Black. The Illinois Secretary of State is Black. The Chicago treasurer is Black. Even the CEO of Chicago Public Schools is Black.
So, Mayor Johnson, where is this White supremacy that you speak of?
CHICAGO RESIDENT GOES AFTER CITY’S ‘PROGRESSIVE DEMOCRATIC GANG’ FOR REFUSING TRUMP’S FEDERAL HELP ON CRIME
Or is this just an excuse to deflect from the fact that the mayor and his leftist policies may be the true oppressors of the kids in our city?
Former Chicago mayoral candidate Paul Vallas wrote that since Mayor Johnson took office, “504 school-age children, 17 years and younger, have been shot, and 107 have been killed. Twenty-three of those deaths were children under the age of 12.”
FROM SELMA TO CHICAGO, MLK’S LEGACY IS BEING BETRAYED BY GRIEVANCE POLITICS
Nobody knows this. It never made the news. Mayor Johnson didn’t care to make it news. The Chicago Teachers Union didn’t care to make it news either. You know what did make the news, though? The union’s luxury trips to Las Vegas, Hawaii, and overseas safaris — all in the name of “professional development” — which have cost the city more than $20 million since 2019.
Meanwhile, far too many of our kids cannot read or do math on grade level. In some schools, this failure rate is as high as 96 out of 100 students.

Shelby Steele, in his 2020 film “What Killed Michael Brown?” said that the biggest systemic oppressor of Black youths is post-60s liberalism — the kind that the mayor and his ilk embrace. He’s right.
The mayor is busy grandstanding against President Donald Trump and ICE, defending sanctuary policies that protect undocumented immigrants, and condemning Trump’s military actions in Venezuela as “illegal” and tied to “oil and power.” He tells Congress that scapegoating immigrants is “misleading and unjust,” while our own citizens languish in poverty and danger. He does all of this because he has no viable solutions. None.

Most of all, I blame us — We the People. We elected this incompetent and ideological man as our mayor. We never hold our leaders to full accountability. We care more about protesting Trump than we care about our kids. That’s the cold reality. We need to wake up, reverse course, and fix very fixable problems. It’s not magic to educate a child. But the will must be there — and right now, it is not.
That is why I’m walking across America to spread awareness of this problem, which affects not just our community but communities all over the country. Surrendering our values to elite agendas leaves nothing for the rest of us. Only folks like Johnson benefit. Our kids deserve leaders who fight for their present-day education and their future opportunities. This is the greatest country in the world, and we must raise our kids to know this truth — or we will reap what we sow.

Indiana backup quarterback Alberto Mendoza enters transfer portal after title win
Fernando Mendoza’s brother made his decision about his playing future after the Indiana Hoosiers secured the national championship in a win over the Miami Hurricanes.
Alberto Mendoza, who was Fernando’s backup during the 2025 season, will enter the NCAA transfer portal. He shared a post from On3, confirming the decision. He appeared in nine games this season for the national champions, making 18 completions for 286 yards and five touchdowns.

He joined Indiana in 2024 when head coach Curt Cignetti took over the team. He only appeared in one game in 2024. Kurtis Rourke was the Hoosiers’ quarterback at the time.
Fernando Mendoza transferred to Indiana from Cal before the start of the 2025 season. It proved to be one of the best moves of the college football offseason. Alberto Mendoza played a major role in the transfer, according to The Athletic.

Justice Department responds to Minnesota lawsuit over ICE enforcement operations
The Trump administration on Monday asked a federal judge to reject the state of Minnesota’s motion to limit ICE operations in the state, arguing to do so would be “unprecedented” overreach.
The Justice Department (DOJ) argued in a filing in response to Minnesota’s lawsuit that the state was “effectively seeking a state veto over the enforcement of federal law,” calling the notion “legally frivolous” and an “absurdity.”
“The 10th Amendment does not afford an ejectment action for states who are dissatisfied with the federal government’s enforcement of federal law,” the DOJ response said.
The state sued the Trump administration last week, seeking to block a massive federal immigration enforcement surge they say has flooded the Twin Cities with armed agents, sparked fear and unrest, and interfered with state and local authorities, according to court filings.
ICE SAYS 2 DEMONSTRATORS WERE ARRESTED IN MINNESOTA FOR ALLEGEDLY ASSAULTING OFFICERS
An injunction blocking the operation “would constitute an unprecedented act of judicial overreach,” the administration’s filing said. The DOJ further argued that federal officers and agents were facing a rise in “violent attacks” while conducting enforcement operations.”
“In and around Minneapolis, ICE officers operating out of the St. Paul Office have been confronted with increased threats, violence, aggression, attacks, vehicle block-ins, and obstruction of immigration enforcement operations,” the filing said.
MINNESOTA AG KEITH ELLISON DENIES DON LEMON, ANTI-ICE PROTESTERS VIOLATED FACE ACT AS DOJ MULLS CHARGES
The state has until Thursday to respond to the Trump administration’s arguments.
The state’s lawsuit comes nearly a week after an ICE agent shot and killed a 37-year-old Minneapolis woman during a federal enforcement operation in south Minneapolis. Federal officials have said agents were attempting to make arrests when the woman tried to use her vehicle as a weapon against officers, prompting an ICE agent to fire in self-defense.

Buc-ee’s plans to open the world’s largest convenience store
Buc-ee’s, an oversized travel center that’s built a cult following, is planning to open the world’s largest convenience store next year.
The company plans to build a location spanning 76,245 square feet in Fort Pierce, Florida, according to Sebastian Daily. The company filed revised site plans and a building permit with St. Lucie County in November, following state approval in April, according to the outlet. But final approval for the project is still pending.
FOX Business reached out to Buc-ee’s for comment.
WILDLY POPULAR GAS STATION BUC-EE’S TO OPEN FIRST-EVER LOCATIONS IN NEW STATES THIS SUMMER
If approved, the massive convenience store will sit at Interstate 95 and Indrio Road, northwest of Fort Pierce and southwest of Vero Beach, and will feature 120 gas pumps and 18 electric vehicle charging stations, the outlet reported.
There will also be more than 700 parking spaces, according to the outlet.
BUC-EE’S OPENS LARGEST STORE SPANNING 75,000 SQUARE FEET WITH 120 GAS PUMPS
The new location will be bigger than its Luling, Texas, store, which already occupies 75,593 square feet of retail space. That travel center, which officially opened in June 2024, has been its largest to date. Prior to its opening, that title belonged to a 74,000-square-foot Buc-ee’s in Tennessee.
Buc-ee’s, founded in Texas in the 1980s, has long stood out among rivals due to the sheer size of its facilities. For example, 7-Eleven locations typically span just 2,500 to 3,000 square feet, while Wawa and Sheetz stores generally range between 5,000 and 6,500 square feet, according to reports.

David Beckham speaks of children’s ‘mistakes’ hours after son’s family accusations
David Beckham has broken his silence just hours after his son, Brooklyn, unleashed a series of scathing claims against his parents on social media.
During an appearance on CNBC’s financial program “Squawk Box”on Tuesday, David got candid about the pros and cons of social media, before referencing his kids’ “mistakes.”
“I have always spoken about social media and the power of social media. For the good and for the bad,” David said.
“The bad we’ve talked about with what kids can access these days, it can be dangerous,” he continued. “But what I have found personally, especially with my kids as well, use it for the right reasons. I’ve been able to use my platform and my following for UNICEF. And it has been the biggest tool to make people aware of what’s going on around the world for children.”
VICTORIA AND DAVID BECKHAM’S FAMILY FRACTURED AS TENSIONS REPORTEDLY MOUNT WITH SON BROOKLYN AND WIFE NICOLA
“And I have tried to do the same, I’ve tried to do the same with my children, to educate them,” he said. “They make mistakes, but children are allowed to make mistakes. That is how they learn. That is what I try to teach my kids. You sometimes have to let them make those mistakes as well,” he added.
Just hours prior, David dodged a question about his eldest son during an appearance at the World Economic Forum’s (WEF) 56th Annual Meeting in Davos, Switzerland.
While smiling for photographs, a reporter for Sky News asked the retired soccer player if he had any thoughts on Brooklyn’s scathing social media post, to which the father-of-four just smiled and walked away.
On Monday, Victoria and David Beckham’s oldest son took to Instagram and shared a lengthy statement about his fractured relationship with his parents.
“I have been silent for years and made every effort to keep these matters private,” Brooklyn wrote. “Unfortunately, my parents and their team have continued to go to the press, leaving me with no choice but to speak for myself and tell the truth about only some of the lies that have been printed. I do not want to reconcile with my family. I’m not being controlled, I’m standing up for myself for the first time in my life.”
BROOKLYN BECKHAM AND NICOLA PELTZ MARRIED: A LOOK AT THEIR LAVISH WEDDING
“For my entire life, my parents have controlled narratives in the press about our family [with] performative social media posts, family events and inauthentic relationships. … Recently, I have seen with my own eyes the lengths that they’ll go through to place countless lies in the media, mostly at the expense of innocent people, to preserve their own facade.”
The 26-year-old alleged that his parents have been trying to sabotage his relationship with wife Nicola Peltz long before they tied the knot in 2022.
“My parents have been trying endlessly to ruin my relationship since before my wedding, and it hasn’t stopped,” he wrote. “My mum canceled making Nicola’s dress in the eleventh hour despite how excited she was to wear her design, forcing her to urgently find a new dress. Weeks before our big day, my parents repeatedly pressured and attempted to bribe me into signing away the rights to my name, which would have affected me, my wife, and our future children.”
Brooklyn said he has received “endless attacks” from his parents, both publicly and privately, before detailing the embarrassing moment his mom “hijacked” his first dance with Peltz at their wedding.
“My mum hijacked my first dance with my wife, which had been planned weeks in advance to a romantic love song,” he claimed. “In front of our 500 wedding guests, Marc Anthony called me to the stage, where in the schedule was planned to be my romantic dance with my wife but instead my mum was waiting to dance with me instead. She danced very inappropriately on me in front of everyone. I’ve never felt more uncomfortable or humiliated in my entire life. We wanted to renew our vows so we could create new memories of our wedding day that bring us joy and happiness, not anxiety and embarrassment.”
A representative for Anthony did not respond to Fox News Digital’s request for comment at the time.
Brooklyn claimed that his family values “public promotion and endorsements above all else.”

“Brand Beckham comes first,” he alleged.
A source told Page Six that the wild claims are “true.”
“As much as this sounds crazy and unhinged, everything Brooklyn said in his statement is true,” one source familiar with the situation told the outlet.
As far as reconciliation is concerned, another insider said, “It’s too late … for now. [Brooklyn’s] had enough.”

David’s former assistant, Rebecca Loos — who has claimed to have had an affair with the former soccer player while he was married to Victoria over 20 years ago — gave her two cents on the situation.
“Rebecca, you gotta see the awesome ditch Brooklyn just posted in his story about David and Victoria and their lies. I feel like Brooklyn is supporting everyone who knows the facade,” one follower wrote on Instagram. “I know you are wonderful and happy and don’t need validation but I think you will feel a source of extra validation.”

Loos replied, “So happy he is standing up for himself and speaking publicly finally!!!! I have felt so bad for his poor wife, knowing too well what they can be like!”
After another follower wrote, “Fascinating admission from Brooklyn,” Loos replied, “The truth always comes out.”
Representatives for David and Victoria did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital’s request for comment.

Private chefs say wealthy clients reject five foods marketed as ‘healthy’ options
Protein bars, plant-based meats and low-fat snacks may be lining grocery store shelves — but private chefs say some foods marketed as “healthy” are often avoided by their wealthy clients.
Chefs and nutrition experts who work with elite athletes, entertainers and high-net-worth clients told Fox News Digital that some foods widely promoted as healthy are quietly avoided in private kitchens, with chefs saying these foods may interfere with energy, digestion or performance goals for certain clients.
“Most people are taught to eat for health optics, whereas performance- and longevity-focused people eat for biological outcomes,” Richard Ingraham, a Georgia-based author and longtime personal chef to NBA legend Dwyane Wade, told Fox News Digital.
FOODS THAT AMERICANS WERE TOLD TO AVOID FOR DECADES ARE BACK UNDER TRUMP’S NEW NUTRITION RULES
“They avoid foods that interfere with clarity, energy stability, recovery or digestion — even if those foods are heavily marketed as ‘healthy.'”
That philosophy reflects a shift some high-performing clients are making in how they approach nutrition. That’s according to Serena Poon, a Los Angeles–based celebrity chef, certified nutritionist and longevity adviser who has worked with A-listers such as seven-time Super Bowl champion quarterback Tom Brady and actress Sofía Vergara.
“I’m seeing a meaningful shift away from foods that are marketed as ‘healthy’ but are still highly processed — and toward a holistic way of eating that prioritizes how food actually communicates with the body over time,” Poon told Fox News Digital.
Rather than chasing trends or flashy “superfoods,” wealthy clients focus on fundamentals — simple, whole foods that support steady energy, digestion and long-term health, private chefs say.
FORMER DIETITIAN SAYS HOMEGROWN FOOD HELPS FAMILY’S HEALTH AFTER CUTTING GROCERY TRIPS
Ingraham said staples in elite kitchens often include oats and bone broth, choices that may surprise those accustomed to protein bars and diet-labeled snacks.
Below are some of the foods private chefs say their clients tend to keep out of the pantry.
1. Plant-based ‘meats’
Clients are avoiding trendy foods and diets branded as healthy, including some plant-based meat alternatives, said Ingraham.
Poon said many foods marketed as healthy are heavily engineered.
COMMON KITCHEN STAPLES COULD TRANSFORM YOUR HEALTH IN UNEXPECTED WAYS, STUDIES SHOW
“One of the biggest misconceptions is that labels like ‘low-fat,’ ‘diet’ or ‘high-protein’ automatically make a food supportive of health,” she said.
Rather, many products are stripped of their natural structure and rebuilt with additives to meet marketing claims, she noted.
2. Protein bars and packaged ‘high-protein’ foods
While protein is prioritized, Ingraham said many clients avoid packaged bars and instead opt for recognizable food sources.
Some wealthy clients view many processed, high-protein products as “junk food with good marketing,” former private chef Adam Kelton recently wrote for VegOut Magazine.

Some studies suggest protein powders may be absorbed more quickly than whole-food sources, but whole foods tend to release amino acids more steadily and come with other nutrients that support how the body uses protein overall.
3. Low-fat and ‘diet’ foods
Foods labeled “fat-free” or “reduced-fat” are a red flag, Ingraham said.
“Removing fat usually means adding starches and sweeteners,” he said.
Kelton described a similar mindset among billionaire clients. He recalled one tech founder who said, “When they remove the fat, they add sugar and chemicals to make it taste like something. I’d rather eat less of the real thing than more of the fake thing.”

Kelton said clients’ fridges are filled with full-fat yogurt, whole milk and regular cheese.
4. Granola and store-bought cereals
Many wealthy clients even skip the organic, pricey granola and cereals, experts say.
“I often made protein bars and granola in-house for my clients to ensure they were getting the necessary nutrients and fiber needed to help their bodies perform at the highest level,” Ingraham said.
TEST YOURSELF WITH OUR LATEST LIFESTYLE QUIZ
One client told Kelton that store-bought granola products were what he described as a “dessert masquerading as breakfast.”
5. Excessive smoothies and cleanses
Trendy liquid meals were rarely on the menu, Ingraham said.
Wealthy clients mostly drank water, coffee, tea and the occasional fresh-pressed juice, Kelton agreed.
For long-term wellness, consistency matters more than any single food, Poon said.
Rather than “chasing labels,” she encourages people to “eat the rainbow,” prioritizing naturally colorful plant foods, along with adequate fiber, clean sources of protein and healthy fats, while limiting foods with long ingredient lists.

“Quick-fix health foods often lead to energy crashes, cravings and dysregulation, while whole foods promote consistency, clarity and sustained energy,” she told Fox News Digital.
