A woman who said she was violently attacked by her ex-boyfriend last year told a London court that her friend Barron Trump unexpectedly saved her life after she managed to call him during the assault, United Kingdom media outlet Metro reported Wednesday.

After answering the FaceTime call and witnessing the alleged assault, the 19-year-old son of President Donald Trump reportedly contacted emergency operators, prompting UK police to respond to the scene on Jan. 18, 2025, shortly after 2 a.m. local time.

The woman, who cannot be named, reportedly claimed that her former Russian partner, 22-year-old Matvei Rumianstev, of east London, was jealous of her friendship with Trump.

She added that she was raped on the day she called Trump and alleged that her ex-boyfriend, who first became violent six months into their relationship, had a history of assaulting her, including stranglings, Metro said, citing hearings at Snaresbrook Crown Court.

BARRON TRUMP SPOTTED ON NYU CAMPUS FOR FIRST TIME SINCE INAUGURATION

According to bodycam footage from the day of the alleged attack, Trump was heard over the phone telling officials, “I just saw a ceiling and could hear screaming. I could see a guy’s head on the phone, and then the camera turns to her crying and getting hit.”

Trump, who reportedly attempted to call his friend for a casual conversation before finally receiving a callback, said the call lasted only 10 to 15 seconds, after which he contacted the authorities.

According to the 999 emergency call played in court, Trump reportedly said, “I just got a call from a girl I know. She’s getting beaten up.”

After giving them her address, he emphasized that, “It’s really an emergency, please. I got a call from her with a guy beating her up.”

When police arrived, the woman identified their anonymous caller as Trump, explaining, “I am friends with Barron Trump, Donald Trump’s son.”

An officer was later heard on bodycam footage telling a colleague, “So apparently, this informant from America is likely to be Donald Trump’s son,” he said. “This female is friends with Donald Trump’s son. She was on a Facetime with him when this assault happened, and he’s called us.”

To confirm to the police, the woman called Trump again, asking, “Hello, Barron, did you call the police or anything?”

“I had someone call the police,” Trump said. “I called you guys, that was the best thing I could do. I wasn’t going to call back and threaten things to him because that would just make the situation worse.”

During her testimony, the woman said Trump “helped save my life. That call was like a sign from God at that moment.”

The trial between Trump’s friend and Rumianstev remains ongoing.

While Rumianstev has denied the allegations, the woman said she has been repeatedly attacked and sexually abused, including being raped in November 2024 and on January 18. She also alleged that Rumianstev has been pressuring her to withdraw her complaints.

“The View” co-host Sunny Hostin claimed that President Donald Trump may have “defamed” alleged criminals arrested by ICE after he presented their mugshots to the media during a press conference on Tuesday.

On Wednesday’s episode of “The View,” Hostin said she found it “distasteful and disgusting” that Trump held up pictures of mostly “Black and Brown people,” calling them “predators… rapists and murderers.”

She argued that “there is no data” confirming that any of the people whose mugshots were shown were actually criminals, and that “if you look at whatever data that we have, 70% of the people that ICE has detained don’t have criminal convictions.”

TRUMP SAYS CRIMINAL ILLEGAL ALIENS ‘MAKE HELLS ANGELS LOOK LIKE THE SWEETEST PEOPLE ON EARTH’

“I’ll tell you, if he defamed somebody, they better sue the President of the United States,” Hostin suggested. “Or they better sue somebody.”

Fellow co-host Joy Behar noted that she also watched the president’s Tuesday press conference and “felt like [Trump] kept showing the same picture because he’s not all there.”

Earlier in the segment, co-host Sara Haines argued that Trump displayed the mugshots “in the name of ICE and all the seizures,” but that there was a better way to show Americans that his administration is tough on crime.

“You know what everyone could get on board with when you have a negative 38 approval rating on — is the friggin’ Epstein files,” Haines asserted. “You have bipartisan support, and it feels like with every dodge he’s missing the fact that there are actual criminals among us, and they happen to be [Trump’s] friends.”

“Why don’t we go ahead and get that out in the open and figure that out,” she added.

The White House did not immediately return Fox News Digital’s request for comment.

TRUMP SAYS MEDIA FOCUSES TOO MUCH ON MINNESOTA ICE COVERAGE, NOT ENOUGH ON CORRUPTION ALLEGATIONS

On Tuesday, the same day Trump presented the mugshots of the alleged criminals, he also called on ICE and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to do more to highlight the arrests of illegal immigrants with criminal records.

“The Department of Homeland Security and ICE must start talking about the murderers and other criminals that they are capturing and taking out of the system. They are saving many innocent lives! There are thousands of vicious animals in Minnesota alone, which is why the crime stats are, nationwide, the BEST EVER RECORDED!” Trump wrote on Truth Social Tuesday.

“Show the numbers, names, and faces of the violent criminals, and show them NOW,” he added. “The people will start supporting the patriots of ICE, instead of the highly paid troublemakers, anarchists, and agitators! MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN.”

Texas chain crushes Costco and Trader Joe’s to claim America’s top grocery store title

A Texas-based chain has once again been named America’s top grocery store, beating out major competitors, including Amazon, Costco and Trader Joe’s.

San Antonio-based H-E-B was ranked the No. 1 grocery retailer in the U.S. for the fifth time in nine years, according to Dunnhumby’s latest annual ranking of grocery stores.

The family-owned company, which was founded in 1905 and operates more than 440 stores, is “firmly entrenched as the top retailer due to its superior ability to deliver a combination of better savings, quality, experience, and assortment,” the study found.

Massachusetts-based Market Basket ranked second, followed by Wisconsin-based Woodman’s in third.

GROCERY CHAIN LAUNCHES MASSIVE EXPANSION WITH 180 NEW US STORES

“For the first time, the leading three retailers in the United States are all regional chains,” Dunnhumby noted.

Costco was ranked No. 4, followed by Aldi, WinCo Foods, Trader Joe’s, Amazon, Wegmans and ShopRite rounding out the top 10.

Ticker Security Last Change Change %
COST COSTCO WHOLESALE CORP. 982.86 +18.60 +1.93%
AMZN AMAZON.COM INC. 231.30 +0.30 +0.13%

Amazon, which topped the rankings in 2021 and 2022, slipped two spots this year, while Sam’s Club dropped six places.

The study evaluated 81 major U.S. grocery stores, combining financial performance with survey responses from more than 11,000 American shoppers.

Participants were asked about pricing, quality, convenience, operations and online ordering.

The rankings come as consumers face mounting financial pressure.

Shopper confidence declined last year amid concerns over rising prices, limited job opportunities and stagnant wages, according to Matt O’Grady, president of the Americas for Dunnhumby.

Trump slams UK island handoff deal that could put key US military base at risk

President Donald Trump dramatically reversed course Tuesday on a U.K. plan to transfer sovereignty of the Chagos Islands to Mauritius while warning it could jeopardize U.S. access to the Diego Garcia military base.

Trump’s reversal highlights what a defense expert called a “new Trump Doctrine,” before linking the president’s opposition to the Chagos deal with his Greenland push and cited fears Mauritius could later back out.

Writing on his Truth Social platform Tuesday, Trump had called the U.K.’s Chagos decision “an act of great stupidity.”

“Shockingly, our ‘brilliant’ NATO Ally, the United Kingdom, is currently planning to give away the Island of Diego Garcia, the site of a vital U.S. Military Base, to Mauritius, and to do so FOR NO REASON WHATSOEVER,” Trump wrote. “There is no doubt that China and Russia have noticed this act of total weakness.”

TRUMP ISSUES STERN WARNING TO NATO AHEAD OF VANCE’S HIGH-STAKES GREENLAND MEETING

“Trump has done a 180 partly because of the U.K.’s support for Denmark’s sovereign claims over Greenland and partly because of a new strategy outlined by the White House,” Dr. John Hemmings, director of the National Security Center at the Henry Jackson Society, told Fox News Digital.

“These moves are linked and part of a ‘new Trump Doctrine’, outlined in November’s National Security Strategy,” he explained.

“Diego Garcia is a potential threat to Beijing’s strategy to control vital shipping lanes between the oil-rich Middle East and China’s industrial heartland,” he added, describing how “nearly 23.7 million barrels of oil transit the Indian Ocean every day, with the base being vital in any U.S.-China conflict over Taiwan.”

TRUMP TELLS DAVOS US ALONE CAN SECURE GREENLAND, INSISTS HE WON’T ‘USE FORCE’

In a separate post, Trump explicitly linked the Chagos dispute to his Greenland push.

“The U.K. giving away extremely important land is an act of GREAT STUPIDITY, and is another in a very long line of national security reasons why Greenland has to be acquired,” Trump wrote.

The Chagos Islands were separated from Mauritius during Britain’s decolonization process, a move the International Court of Justice ruled unlawful in 2019.

The U.K. later agreed to transfer sovereignty while leasing Diego Garcia back for at least 99 years, at a cost of at least $160 million annually.

Diego Garcia is a hub for long-range bombers, logistics and power projection across the Middle East, the Indo-Pacific and Africa. Around 2,500 personnel, mostly American, are stationed there.

TRUMP DOUBLES DOWN ON GREENLAND PUSH AS POLLS SHOW LITTLE PUBLIC SUPPORT

“If Mauritius were to offer the islands to China after taking de jure control, it would put immense pressure on the U.S. in the eyes of international public opinion,” Hemmings explained.

“After all, once Mauritius has de jure sovereignty, it can renegotiate the lease terms or even renege on the treaty at any time it wants.”

“It might also provide access to the exclusive economic zone, with all of its rich fishing grounds, to Chinese fishing fleets, adding another layer of risk to U.S. Air Force operations around the island,” Hemmings said.

“At this moment, the U.S. base at Diego Garcia is thought to be secure, with Mauritius promising the U.K. (and by proxy, the U.S.) a 99-year lease, which will not, it is supposed, interfere with the operations of the air base at all. But the devil is in the details,” he warned.

Popular alcohol brands could be forced to sell off inventory after bankruptcy setback

Alcohol giants Stoli Group USA LLC and Kentucky Owl LLC are liquidating their inventory in the U.S. after struggling to reorganize their businesses under Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection.

Their creditors no longer believe the companies can successfully fix their finances and keep operating under Chapter 11 bankruptcy, which is meant to reorganize a business and keep it running, according to court documents obtained by FOX Business.

In turn, the creditors are formally requesting a court order to end the companies’ Chapter 11 reorganization and instead move the cases into Chapter 7, which means it would sell off its assets to pay off its debts.

‘LABELING ERROR’ HAS VODKA SELTZER IN ENERGY DRINK CANS, PROMPTING RECALL

Stoli Group is best known in the U.S. for its Stolichnaya vodka brand. Kentucky Owl is a premium bourbon label that has won industry accolades but struggled with rising costs and slowing demand in recent years.

FOX Business reached out to Stoli Group for comment.

The Stoli Group’s U.S. entities filed for bankruptcy protection in November 2024 in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Texas.

According to the documents, the debtors told the court they filed for Chapter 11 after a cyberattack disabled the Stoli Group’s SAP system, which they said caused financial reporting failures, undermined Fifth Third Bank’s confidence and contributed to liquidity problems. However, fixing that problem never fixed the business.

The creditors argued the cyberattack explanation doesn’t hold up because the company’s problems continued long after it said the system would be fixed.

House votes to overturn public lands rule, with one Democrat backing GOP measure

Only one House Democrat joined Republicans on Wednesday in a vote to repeal a Biden-era regulation on public lands in Minnesota.

The bill, sponsored by Rep. Pete Stauber, R-Minn., passed in a 214-208 vote.

Rep. Jarred Golden, D-Maine, voted in favor of the legislation while one Republican, Don Bacon, R-Neb., voted against it.

The public lands bill is the most recent in a string of regulations Republicans have undone in the 119th Congress — accounting for at least 10 such measures in 2025.

ZELDIN OVERHAULS BIDEN-ERA WATER RULE TO END ‘WEAPONIZATION’ THAT LED ‘PUDDLES’ TO TRIGGER PRICY PERMITS

In this case, lawmakers voted to reopen the door to mineral development on federal lands in the North Star State.

“The resolution before us today does not mandate projects, mining sites, firms, or schedules — it simply reverses the Biden administration’s unilateral short-circuiting of the normal permitting process,” House Natural Resource Committee Chairman Bruce Westerman, R-Ark., said on the House floor.

“It’s a step towards the mineral abundance that the American people deserve and that Washington, [D.C.] has denied them for too long,” Westerman added.

Stauber, the sponsor, framed access to Minnesota’s deposits as a part of larger national interests.

America’s national security depends on securing our own critical minerals — not just relying on imports from adversaries,” Stauber said in a post to X.

“We must unleash domestic production, including in Minnesota’s Iron Range, to power our military, energy grid and future [technology.]”

TRUMP ADMIN IMPLODES LITERAL BIDEN ROADBLOCK WITH POTENTIAL TO UNLEASH MAJOR MINING WINDFALL

According to the Minnesota government website, the state has rich deposits of gold, silver, zinc, copper, nickel, titanium and other precious metals.

Democrats opposed to the measure argued that it would open up Minnesota’s land to development, casting aside safeguards for environmental protections.

That was the position of Rep. Jared Huffman, D-Calif., the top Democrat on the House Natural Resources Committee.

“The Boundary Waters have been under threat for years,” Huffman said, referring to the area near the northern tip of the state. “They draw more visitors than any other wilderness in the country. Millions of Americans have paddled, fished, swum and found pristine solace in [its] forests. It supports a billion-dollar outdoor economy.”

In addition to pollution concerns, Huffman noted that the bill would allow mining access to groups with longstanding interests in the area — some of which, he warned, might not be aligned with national interests.

“Twin Metals, a mining company with close ties to China, has been lobbying for years to set up a mine just outside the wilderness area,” Huffman said.

“There’s no guarantee that the precious minerals produced from this mine would stay in the U.S. at all.”

Serial killer fisherman allegedly responsible for slew of killings in decades-old case

After nearly four decades of unanswered questions, federal investigators announced they have finally identified the killer behind one of Virginia’s most haunting cold cases

The FBI Norfolk Field Office announced Tuesday that advances in forensic science have linked the 1986 murders of Cathleen Thomas and Rebecca Dowski, victims of the infamous Colonial Parkway murders, to a deceased suspect allegedly responsible for at least six killings.

FBI investigators determined Alan Wade Wilmer Sr. murdered the two women last seen together Oct. 9, 1986, at a computer lab at the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg.

Wilmer Sr., a local fisherman who died in 2017 at the age of 63, was connected to a series of at least six murders and disappearances of young people in Virginia between 1986 and 1989, according to the FBI.

He lived in Lancaster County and spent most of his time fishing and hunting, often docked at marinas in Gloucester and Middlesex counties.

Between 1986 and 1989, a series of violent crimes took place near Virginia’s Colonial Parkway and surrounding areas, resulting in the murders and disappearances of at least eight young people, according to officials.

The crimes were known as the Colonial Parkway murders, one of the longest cold case investigations in Virginia history.

After the disappearance of Thomas, 27, and Dowski, 21, their bodies were found inside their vehicle along the Colonial Parkway, stabbed and strangled. It is unclear if the women were sexually assaulted.

Though the case remained unsolved, advances in forensic science and DNA analysis recently led to Wilmer’s identification as the suspect allegedly responsible for the women’s killings.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Virginia said that, had Wilmer been alive, evidence would have supported federal prosecution.

Authorities said Wilmer was also responsible for the 1987 murders of David Knobling, 20, and Robin M. Edwards, 14, in the Isle of Wight and the 1989 homicide of Teresa Lynn Spaw Howell, 29, in Hampton, Virginia.

The bodies of Knobling and Edwards, who were last seen together on Sept. 19, 1987, were found dead days later with gunshot wounds along the shoreline of the Ragged Island Wildlife Management and Refuge Area on the south bank of the James River. Edwards, who was just 14 years old, was sexually assaulted, according to officials.

Two years later, on July 1, 1989, Howell was found dead in a wooded area after leaving a nearby nightclub.

FBI Norfolk said Thomas was a “vibrant young woman” known for her compassion, intelligence and close relationships with family and friends.

They added Dowski was a talented musician and college student with a “promising future” and is remembered for her creativity, kindness and love of music.

“I am incredibly proud of the work done by the men and women of FBI Norfolk, whose tenacity and commitment to justice never wavered,” Dominique Evans, special agent in charge of the FBI Norfolk Field Office, wrote in a statement.

“This investigation demonstrates the strength of our partnership with the Virginia State Police, the Hampton Police Division and the Suffolk Police Department and our shared determination to never give up on victims or their families,” Evans added. “We are thankful that advances in technology and DNA evidence allowed us to finally bring answers in this case.”

The Hampton Police Division thanked the community for its continued support and valuable information.

“It is our hope that this development provides the families with a measure of closure, comfort and peace,” the division wrote in a statement. The women’s families attended the announcement of closure of the case, though Thomas’ brother, Bill, told local outlet 13 News Now he believes there were more than eight victims in the Colonial Parkway murders.

“I personally think that Alan Wade Wilmer Sr. is good for additional murders as well,” Thomas told the outlet. “Right now, the way the laws are set up, even though Alan Wade Wilmer Sr. is a serial killer and has killed at least six people, including my sister, and her girlfriend Rebecca Dowski, we do not have the capability to upload his DNA into CODIS, because he was never convicted of a crime before he died in 2017.”

The families are working to amend current laws to bring other unsolved cases to a close.

President Donald Trump said Wednesday he will not impose tariffs that were set to take effect Feb. 1, citing a “framework of a future deal” with NATO involving Greenland and the Arctic region.

“Based upon a very productive meeting that I have had with the Secretary General of NATO, Mark Rutte, we have formed the framework of a future deal with respect to Greenland and, in fact, the entire Arctic Region,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.

Trump said the deal, if finalized, “will be a great one for the United States of America, and all NATO Nations,” adding that the agreement led him to halt the planned tariffs.

“Based upon this understanding, I will not be imposing the Tariffs that were scheduled to go into effect on February 1st,” he said.

Trump added that talks are continuing, saying, “Additional discussions are being held concerning The Golden Dome as it pertains to Greenland,” and said Vice President JD Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio and special envoy Steve Witkoff will lead negotiations and “report directly to me.”

In a spray later in the afternoon at the World Economic Forum in Davos, the president said the proposed deal framework “gets us everything we need to get.”

“The deal is going to be put out pretty soon, we’ll see. It’s right now a little bit in progress, but pretty far along,” Trump said to reporters. “It gets us everything we need it to get.”

NATO confirmed to Fox News Digital in a statement from Spokesperson Allison Hart that negotiations are aimed “at ensuring Russia and China never gain a foothold” in Greenland.

“The Secretary General had a very productive meeting with President Trump during which they discussed the critical significance of security in the Arctic region to all Allies, including the United States,” Hart said in a statement.

“Discussions among NATO Allies on the framework the President referenced will focus on ensuring Arctic security through the collective efforts of Allies, especially the seven Arctic Allies. Gunfire echoed through Tehran Tuesday as heavily armed militias were deployed across the Iranian capital, transforming some districts into fortified zones under intense security.

Video footage showed bursts of automatic weapons after dark as government buildings, state media sites and major intersections were reportedly placed under guard, with armored pickups and masked fighters patrolling the streets in Toyotas.

The trucks were mounted with heavy machine guns and were moving in convoys with weapons firing into the darkness as armed men shouted commands.

In the video, large-caliber guns can be heard rattling as vehicles maneuver through urban streets.

ARMED KURDISH FIGHTERS TRY TO BREACH IRAN BORDER AS REGIONAL THREAT GROWS AMID PROTESTS: REPORTS

“There has been a deployment of dozens of Toyotas mounted with heavy machine guns (DShK) and other heavy weapons in Tehran,” Ali Safavi, a senior official with the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), told Fox News Digital.

“They are reportedly being used by elements linked to Lebanese Hezbollah and Iraqi Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF),” he said.

“Their commander speaks in Farsi, and these fighters are Iraqi Hashd al-Sha’bi, Popular Mobilization Force and Hezbollah fighters who have joined the IRGC. The IRGC are their commanders, and you can hear them shouting in Farsi.”

According to Safavi, the Iranian regime has increasingly relied on foreign proxy forces to maintain control of the capital.

“The regime has brought in at least 5,000 foreign elements now from Iraq and Hezbollah to control Tehran,” he explained.

“They are guarding the government buildings and the state radio and TV and are using heavy machine guns, which are Russian-made and 50 caliber.”

Safavi added that “at night, there are fierce clashes that are ongoing as well as running street battles between the protesters and the special unit forces.”

The footage emerged as the Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA) reported what it described as Day 24 of nationwide protests marked by a continued communications blackout.

“The number of confirmed deaths has reached 4,519, while the number of deaths still under investigation stands at 9,049,” the agency said, adding that at least 5,811 people have been seriously injured and 26,314 arrested.

HRANA reports also described an overwhelming security presence, particularly with law enforcement, the IRGC, Basij units and plainclothes agents after nightfall, creating what the group called an atmosphere of deterrence and fear.

The first protests began Dec. 28 and rapidly spread nationwide, driven by economic grievances and opposition to clerical rule.

Demonstrations have persisted despite mass arrests, lethal force and internet shutdowns.

“Sometimes the protesters hold their ground to the gunfire, ammunition and volleys of tear gas,” Safavi said.

He alleged that IRGC units attacked a hospital in Gorgan, killing wounded patients, stationing snipers on rooftops and firing into surrounding areas.

“They then took around 76 bodies to a warehouse and are refusing to hand them over to families because the forces want to bury them in secret,” he claimed.

Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has repeatedly blamed foreign enemies for unrest while backing the IRGC’s response.

President Trump on Tuesday warned Iran that continued assassination threats from leaders in Tehran would trigger overwhelming retaliation.

“Anything ever happens, we’re going to blow the whole — the whole country’s going to get blown up,” Trump told NewsNation.
