Democrat warns top Trump officials ‘better hope’ for presidential pardon
Progressive Rep. Shri Thanedar, D-Mich., exploded on U.S. Customs and Border Protection Commissioner Rodney Scott, calling federal immigration officers “thugs” and telling the commissioner he “better hope” for a presidential pardon during a particularly heated House hearing on Tuesday.
Thanedar, who is originally from India and immigrated to the U.S. in the 1980’s, drilled into Scott, saying, “You better hope you get pardoned because you will be held accountable for the absolute disregard of the law your agencies have shown over the past year.”
The exchange occurred during a House Homeland Security hearing on “Oversight of the Department of Homeland Security: ICE, CBP, and USCIS.” During the hearing, Thanedar grilled Scott and Acting U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement Director Todd Lyons on the recent shooting of Renee Good and Alex Pretti by federal officers in Minnesota.
After Lyons and Scott repeatedly backed their officers through Thanedar’s questioning, the congressman said, “I have heard and seen enough. I’m just sick and tired of your agents running around in our cities, in our streets, causing illegal activities, ICE thugs attacking our communities, using our children as bait, referring to people as bodies and numbers, targeting people for their accents and the color of their skin, and killing American citizens, all while showing zero remorse for their actions.”
DEMOCRATS DEMAND KRISTI NOEM BE FIRED OR WARN IMPEACHMENT WILL FOLLOW
Going further, Thanedar asked, “Director Lyons and Commissioner Scott, do you think President Trump will pardon you and your boss, Kristi Noem, before he leaves office, just like he has for insurrectionists and his political allies? Do you believe President Trump will pardon you?”
Scott answered, “I’m not going to speak on behalf of President Trump, but I’ll tell you, I signed up for this job to protect America, and I’m very proud of the service that I provide, and I don’t need a pardon from anybody.”
“Well, you’d better hope so. You better hope you get pardoned,” Thanedar shot back. “Because you will be held accountable for the absolute disregard of the law your agencies have shown over the past year.”
ICE ARRESTS MURDERERS, PEDOPHILES DURING SUPER BOWL WEEKEND AS AGENTS SAY HALFTIME SHOW ‘DEMONIZED’ THEM
Thanedar continued, “Your agencies have lost the trust of the American people, with millions taking to the streets to protect the illegal actions of your agencies. And that’s why I introduced a bill in the United States Congress to abolish ICE. ICE must be abolished.”
The congressman added that he “also co-sponsored a bill to impeach” Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, saying, “I believe Kristi Noem must be impeached, and this Congress must do everything in its power to carry out oversight actions against these rogue departments.”

Family says NFL ‘ultimately the cause’ of former Lions star’s death at 56
Tracy Scroggins, a former standout Detroit Lions linebacker, has died, his family announced Monday. He was 56.
“It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Tracy Scroggins,” his family said in a statement sent to TMZ.
Scroggins’ loved ones said he will be remembered for his strength and perseverance.
“Tracy was a devoted father, cherished family member, and loyal friend whose life was marked by remarkable strength and perseverance,” the statement continued. “While many knew him for his career as a professional football player in the NFL, those closest to him knew him as a kind-hearted and generous man who cared deeply for his family and friends.”

The family cited possible chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE) in confirming his death. Researchers have linked the brain condition to repeated trauma to the head or repeated concussions.
“Playing in the NFL gave Tracy the opportunity to pursue his lifelong dream and to rise from poverty,” the statement added. “However, unfortunately, the NFL was also ultimately the cause of his untimely demise. Tracy spent every moment of retirement courageously battling the devastating effects of CTE. While our hearts are heavy, we find comfort in knowing that he is finally at peace.”
It was unclear whether Scroggins’ family planned to have his brain tested for CTE. Scroggins was among the group of players who filed concussion-related lawsuits against the league ahead of a 2015 concussion settlement.

Scroggins’ NFL career spanned a decade, all of which he spent in a Lions uniform. The Oklahoma native arrived in Detroit after the franchise selected him in the second round of the 1992 NFL Draft. Before turning pro, Scroggins played college football at Tulsa.
In addition to football, Scroggins played on his high school basketball and track teams.

Olympian candidly admits to cheating on girlfriend of 6 months after winning medal
Sturla Holm Laegreid earned a bronze medal in the Olympics this week, but he was not able to share it with one special person: a woman he recently cheated on.
The Norwegian took bronze, his first individual Olympic medal, in the biathlon on Tuesday and fought back tears in a post-event interview — not about the medal, but about “the biggest mistake of my life.”
“There’s someone I wanted to share it with who might not be watching today. Six months ago, I met the love of my life — the most beautiful and kindest person in the world. Three months ago, I made my biggest mistake and cheated on her,” Laegreid said to NRK in Norway.

“I told her about it a week ago. It’s been the worst week of my life.”
Laegreid referred to the woman as his “gold medal in my life.” He was actually part of the relay team that took gold at the Beijing Olympics.
But instead of celebrating Tuesday, he was distraught, crying and hugging friends after the race. During a news conference, he explained why he decided to tell the world about his personal situation on the broadcast.

“It was the choice I made. We make different choices during our life and that’s how we make life,” he told a room full of journalists. “So today I made a choice to tell the world what I did, so maybe, maybe there is a chance she will see what she really means to me. Maybe not.”
“There are probably many who look at me with different eyes, but I only have eyes for her,” he added. “Sport has taken a slightly different place in my life the last few days. Yes, I wish I could share it with her.”
In a separate media availability, Laegreid seemed to regret giving the interview, as he felt he may have upstaged gold medal winner Johan-Olav Botn, his Norwegian teammate.

Dem. Rep’s ‘total meltdown’ in heated hearing with ICE director sparks viral outrage
Democratic Rep. LaMonica McIver, who is currently facing charges related to interfering with ICE officers at a detention facility, is facing strong pushback online over her line of questioning to ICE Acting Director Todd Lyons in a heated hearing Tuesday.
“How do you think Judgment Day will work for you with so much blood on your hands?” McIver asked Lyons during a hearing in which Democrats lashed out on multiple occasions against ICE and President Donald Trump’s immigration agenda in general while highlighting the deaths of Renee Good and Alex Pretti, both killed by federal immigration agents during altercations in Minneapolis in recent weeks.
Lyons responded, “I’m not going to entertain that question.”
“Of course not,” McIver said back. “Do you think you’re going to hell?”

House Committee on Homeland Security Chairman Andrew Garbarino interjected and reminded members of the “standards of decorum,” prompting McIver to respond by saying, “Mr. Chairman, I’m just asking a question. You guys are always talking about religion and the Bible.”
Fox News congressional correspondent Bill Melugin posted on X that audible groans could be heard in the room over McIver’s questions.
The exchange quickly went viral on social media, where conservatives took issue with McIver’s comments.
House Republicans, in a post on X, called the situation a “total meltdown” from McIver.

Alleged ‘horrific’ illegal alien crime puts Dem senator in hot seat for ‘utter silence’
Georgia Sen. Jon Ossoff, a vocal critic of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) who is running for re-election in November, is facing heat from Georgia Republicans over his lack of public comment until today on news that ICE lodged a detainer for a Georgia illegal immigrant accused of a heinous crime.
On Jan. 27, the Department of Homeland Security announced it placed a detainer on Mexican national Kenneth Moreno Guzman after he allegedly broke into the back door of a Georgia family’s home earlier that month and raped an 11-year-old girl while threatening her 10-year-old sister in the room with a knife.
“Another horrific tragedy for two innocent children by the hands of a criminal illegal alien. This monster should have never been in our country in the first place,” DHS Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin said in a press release at the time.
“These are the victims President Trump and Secretary Noem are fighting for and the media and sanctuary politicians ignore. We have lodged an arrest detainer to ensure ICE is notified to arrest this creep before he can prey on more innocent children.”
THIS SENATE DEMOCRAT WANTS VOTER ID FOR HIS CAMPAIGN EVENTS — BUT NOT FEDERAL ELECTIONS
A Fox News Digital search did not find any public comment from Ossoff acknowledging the crime or the importance of ICE’s involvement as of Monday.
When reached for comment Tuesday, Ossoff told Fox News Digital, “Instead of raiding Americans’ homes without judicial warrants, demanding Americans’ papers at checkpoints and detaining 5-year olds, Americans want ICE to return to its purpose: arresting violent criminals like Kenneth Moreno Guzman who are here illegally, and I commend the law enforcement professionals involved in this criminal’s arrest.”
REPUBLICAN MAJORITY AT RISK? A LOOK AT THE 6 GOP SENATE SEATS MOST IN JEOPARDY IN MIDTERM ELECTIONS
Over the past few weeks, Ossoff has made several public statements critical of ICE and invoked the names of Alex Pretti and Renee Good, who were both killed during interactions with federal immigration agents in Minnesota. Several Republicans running for office in Georgia, including his Senate opponents, took issue with Ossoff’s weekslong silence on Guzman’s crime.
“It’s been utter silence from Jon Ossoff about the illegal alien who raped an 11-year-old girl and held her 10-year-old sister at knifepoint in Ossoff’s own backyard — just like his silence when Joe Biden opened the southern border four years ago,” former Tennessee football coach Derek Dooley, running for Senate in a Republican primary to challenge Ossoff, told Fox News Digital.
“It tells you everything you need to know about who he is and what he stands for.”
Another Republican in that primary, GOP Rep. Mike Collins, told Fox News Digital Ossoff has had “every opportunity to stand up to his liberal donors in California and New York to protect Georgia’s sons and daughters, and he has failed our state every single time.”
“Every day that Jon Ossoff is in the Senate is a day these criminals have a friend in Washington, D.C.,” Collins said.

Rep. Buddy Carter, also running in the primary against Ossoff, told Fox News Digital, “Ossoff was silent on Laken Riley and is now silent on the 11-year-old victim of Kenneth Guzman. He wants illegals to vote for him, which is why he refuses to speak out against them — even though they wouldn’t be allowed into his rallies without an ID. Ossoff’s Democrat Party has become the party of rapists, pedophiles and murderers. Georgians, even those who are victims of violent crimes, are — at best — an afterthought.”
A Fox News analysis of Ossoff’s X posts last month uncovered no X posts from the senator’s accounts including “Laken Riley” in them.
However, the U.S. senator from Georgia did take time to honor her life inside the Georgia state legislature a few days after she was murdered, reportedly expressing his “shock and outrage” over her death.
Last month, on the one-year anniversary of the Laken Riley Act, Ossoff was accused by Republicans of “flip-flopping” on the Laken Riley Act.
Ossoff initially voted, along with all Senate Democrats, against a procedural motion to offer an amendment that would have passed a modified version of the act via a defense appropriations bill in March 2024. However, Ossoff did eventually vote in favor of the stand-alone Laken Riley Act many months later in the next Congress in January 2025.
Republicans running for different offices in Georgia echoed similar sentiments as Ossoff’s GOP challengers in statements to Fox News Digital.
“How many more innocent Americans need to be raped or killed at the hands of illegal aliens before Jon Ossoff stands up to his radical leftist base?” Lookout Mountain Judicial Circuit District Attorney Clay Fuller, running for Congress to fill former Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene’s seat in a March special election, told Fox News Digital. “The death penalty should be pursued here.”
Georgia Lt. Gov. Burt Jones, who is running for governor, told Fox News Digital, “Georgia voters should be aware that no matter how many Americans are raped or murdered in our communities at the hands of illegal aliens, Jon Ossoff will remain silent and continue to push for them to be able to vote.”
The Georgia Senate race will be heavily watched as the GOP defends its 53-47 majority in the chamber in this year’s midterm elections.
The Republican primary to determine who challenges Ossoff is scheduled for May 19.

US Olympian reveals stance in representing country in Milan Cortina amid controversy
U.S. Olympic bobsled member Jasmine Jones is competing in her first-ever Olympics in Milan Cortina.
As an Air Force service member and mother of a 5-year-old, the pride of representing the U.S. has brought her game “to a different caliber.”
“I feel like being able to represent my country, as well as being an athlete for my country, it definitely brings a different meaning and a different caliber. I feel like there’s so few people who do both at the same time, and I’m honored to have this opportunity to represent both. I’m thankful for being an airman and representing my country in that aspect,” Jones told Fox News Digital.

“It definitely ties it together and brings different meaning and how much more I have to give.”
Jones barely missed out on qualifying for the 2022 Beijing Winter Games. So, she joined the Air Force in April 2023, which allowed her to undergo a much more rigorous training routine, which she credits for her ability to qualify for this year’s games.
“I’m just thankful to be an airman,” she said. “Going into the WCAP program, that allowed me to truly have my offseason training, allowed me to get to this point. … Having that offseason training to be able to focus truly and put in the work. That transpired with this moment.”
Jones gave birth to her daughter in 2021 and was looking for stability as a means to achieve her goal of reaching the Olympics. The Air Force gave her that path.
ISRAELI BOBSLED CAPTAIN OPENS UP ON TEAM OVERCOMING BURGLARY AND VANDALISM TO MAKE HISTORY IN WINTER OLYMPICS
“I wanted to do something that gives me more stability. There was a time when I was working my civilian job and trying to train at the same time, and it just wasn’t enough. I know I wanted to dedicate my time towards bobsled,” Jones said.
“The biggest thing I’ve learned is being resilient, and I feel like that plays a part, where, going into basic, and you’re waking up early. You’re following orders. You’re getting that discipline needed, and that goes into bobsled. … So, I feel like transitioning from basic training and having that discipline as well translates into just knowing exactly what I’m supposed to do.”
Jones’ appreciation for representing the U.S. comes at a time when other American Olympians are being openly critical of their country in Italy. Team USA athletes Hunter Hess, Amber Glenn and Mikaela Shiffrin have all made statements criticizing the state of the U.S. while competing in Italy.
But Jones now joins ice hockey player Brady Tkachuk in openly praising the U.S. and expressing honor and gratitude for representing the country in Milan Cortina.

Jones said she hasn’t looked at social media at all as of late, so she is unaware of any criticism of her country by Team USA teammates.
Team USA fans can send Jones and fellow airman Kelly Curtis, who is also competing in Italy, a personalized letter through a program involving a partnership between Team USA and Sadboxx.
Airline’s retro food menu sparks ‘golden age’ flying comparisons as passengers react
American Airlines is marking its upcoming 100th anniversary with a nostalgic nod to its past.
Capitalizing on today’s popular retro food trend, the airline is introducing luxury menu offerings inspired by the Roaring Twenties. Beginning Feb. 9, travelers are able to preorder special dishes, with menus appearing on select flights starting in March, the airline said in a news release.
Adding decadent dishes like beef Wellington and prawn cocktail isn’t just a step back in time. The move also apparently addresses a growing frustration among travelers that in-flight dining has been less than satisfactory in recent years.
FROM RETRO TO REFINED: JELL-O SALAD AND SAVORY GELATIN DISHES MAKE UNEXPECTED RETURN
“Pan Am and similar airlines offered spacious seating arrangements, proper cutlery and fine dining,” a Reddit user posted on the “r/aviation” forum not long ago. “Not to mention [that] being an airline crew [member] was prestigious.”
“These amenities and circumstances are extremely cost-intensive … Today it is so far from the luxury it once was, [given that] cost-cutting and corporate culture reign supreme,” the Reddit user added.
American Airlines travelers may soon feel differently.
Appetizers will include a prawn cocktail and a Waldorf salad, with caviar, blinis and a deviled egg topped with crème fraîche added in April.
In domestic First Class, a Boursin cream cheese dip will also be offered on select long-haul routes, the airline said.

The entrée selections continue the throwback theme, led by beef Wellington served with roasted vegetables and asparagus topped with béarnaise sauce.
A pecan tart will be among the dessert offerings.
Chicken Florentine roulade paired with mashed potatoes and mushroom sauce will be another entrée option. A pecan tart will be included in the dessert offerings, the airline said in its release.

The menus will debut on select international and transcontinental flights in American’s Flagship First and Flagship Business cabins, with domestic First Class service added in April.
The offerings are for a limited time only, the airline noted.
“Our centennial year is a chance to reflect on how far we’ve come,” said Rhonda Crawford, American’s SVP of Customer Experience Design and Strategy, in the release.
“These menus celebrate the flavors that defined the early days of American Airlines in a way that feels special and memorable for today’s travelers.”
Said one social media user on Reddit, “Different days indeed.”

“Old guy here,” the person continued a few years ago in a post.
“Went on my first flight at 6 years old in 1970 from Chicago to Florida. Each ticket cost $500 (equivalent of maybe $2,500 now). We went out and bought special ‘airplane clothes,’ the equivalent of church attire. I remember eating steak on the plane.”
Commenters reacting to American Airlines’ news took a variety of stances.
Writing on Instagram, one person said, “Caviar? I’ll believe it when I see it.”
Someone else wrote, “How about they bring back good service?”

Fox News Digital reached out to American Airlines for further comment about the new menu offerings.
During 2026, “customers will continue to see additional centennial touches — from limited‑edition amenity kits and pajamas to other celebratory moments — with more initiatives to be announced throughout the year,” the airline said in its release.
