White House deputy chief of staff for Policy Stephen Miller called for everyone involved in a shelved “60 Minutes” segment on Trump deportations to an El Salvador prison to be fired on Tuesday, calling the story a “hatchet job” that was trying to gin up sympathy for illegal immigrant gang members.

“Every one of those producers at ’60 Minutes’ engaged in this revolt, fire them. Clean house,” Miller told “Jesse Watters Primetime” guest host Charlie Hurt.

“They’re trying to tell sob stories about Tren de Aragua gang members who drill holes in people’s hands, who rape and murder little girls. This is the gang that kidnapped, sexually assaulted and murdered Jocelyn Nungaray. Remember her? That precious 12-year-old girl from Texas who was taken from her mom and went through horrors none of us can even imagine. And you have these ’60 Minutes’ producers… trying to make us feel sympathetic for these monsters?”

Fox News Digital reached out to CBS regarding Miller’s remarks but did not receive an immediate response.

CBS, BARI WEISS FACING MOUNTING BACKLASH FROM LIBERAL CRITICS OVER YANKING ’60 MINUTES’ SEGMENT

Hours before “Inside CECOT” was set to air on Sunday, “60 Minutes” released a statement saying the segment was being delayed because it needed “additional reporting.”

The segment, which was leaked online after airing in Canada, features correspondent Sharyn Alfonsi interviewing Venezuelan deportees who were sent to El Salvador’s maximum-security prison after being deported by the Trump administration. The segment reported half of the 252 Venezuelan men deported to El Salvador did not have criminal backgrounds, and the men she spoke to claimed they were not criminals or gang-affiliated.

CBS News Editor-in-Chief Bari Weiss decided to delay the story after determining that, while the interviews were “powerful,” the story ultimately did not “advance the ball” and “was not ready,” Fox News Digital reported. Among her notes were urging more effort to get a Trump official on-camera to defend administration policies on immigration, as well as criticizing a “strange” portion of the segment showing Berkeley students analyzing the prison.

STEPHEN MILLER CLAIMS CNN REFUSES TO BOOK HIM ‘FOR ANY SHOW ON ANY TOPIC’

The decision came to Alfonsi’s dismay, leading her to accuse Weiss of a political move.

“Our story was screened five times and cleared by both CBS attorneys and Standards and Practices,” Alfonsi wrote to the show’s colleagues in a memo that quickly leaked to the media. “It is factually correct. In my view, pulling it now, after every rigorous internal check has been met, is not an editorial decision, it is a political one.”

The segment that leaked online did not include any interviews with Trump officials or administration statements beyond a brief clip of White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt and another clip of President Donald Trump praising El Salvador’s prison system.

Axios reported that the White House, Department of Homeland Security and State Department all provided statements to CBS, but none of them were included in the story.

The White House statement called on “60 Minutes” to do more reporting on Angel Parents, whose children have been murdered by illegal immigrants.

CBS did not return Fox News Digital’s prior requests for comment on the matter.

Alfonsi also noted that the Department of Homeland Security declined an interview request and referred CECOT questions to the El Salvadoran government, which didn’t respond to its request.

‘Gender secrecy’ no more in California schools after judge strikes down law

A federal judge on Monday struck down California school policies that prevent schools from revealing a student’s gender identity to their parents.

The class-action suit, filed by California teachers and parents, sought to overturn policies that barred K-12 educators from informing parents when students used names or pronouns different from those assigned at birth.

San Diego U.S. District Judge Roger Benitez, a George W. Bush appointee, ruled in favor of two Escondido Union School District teachers, Elizabeth Mirabelli and Lori Ann West, who argued that their school district’s policies “flatly prohibit teachers from respecting parents’ wishes.”

COLORADO PARENTS SAY SCHOOL SILENCED DAUGHTER AFTER TRANSGENDER ROOMING INCIDENT AS LEGAL FIGHT ESCALATES

In the suit, filed in April 2023, the middle school teachers named several district officials and claimed that the district’s policies violated their constitutional and religious rights.

The California state officials named in the suit included State Superintendent Tony Thurmond, Attorney General Rob Bonta and the State Board of Education.

The judgment handed down by Benitez applies to all California public schools, not just the district the suit was filed in. The judge wrote in his order granting summary judgment that the California public school system placed a “communication barrier between parents and teachers.”

“Parents and guardians have a federal constitutional right to be informed if their public school student child expresses gender incongruence,” Benitez wrote. “Teachers and school staff have a federal constitutional right to accurately inform the parent or guardian of their student when the student expresses gender incongruence.”

OREGON EDUCATORS WIN 650K SETTLEMENT AFTER SCHOOL DISTRICT FIRED THEM OVER GENDER POLICY COMMENTS

The U.S. Supreme Court’s ruling in Mahmoud v. Taylor this summer was referenced by Benitez in his ruling. The Supreme Court’s decision granted public school parents the right to opt out of materials and discussions that are at odds with their religious beliefs.

As reported by EdSource, while Benitez’s ruling referenced guidance that the California Department of Education shared with school districts, he stated that this case is not focused on California Assembly Bill 1955, which prohibited forcing teachers from disclosing the gender identity of their students.

In response to more than a dozen California school boards adopting parental notification policies that required school staff to inform parents if a student asked to be referred to by a name or gender different from that assigned at birth, California Gov. Gavin Newsom signed the Support Academic Futures and Educators for Today’s Youth — known as the SAFETY Act — in 2024.

The Chicago-based conservative Catholic law firm that took the case, the Thomas More Society, issued a statement about the ruling on Monday and hailed the decision as a “landmark class-action ruling.”

“Today’s incredible victory finally, and permanently, ends California’s dangerous and unconstitutional regime of gender secrecy policies in schools,” said Paul Jonna of the Thomas More Society.

Following Benitez’s ruling, the California Legislative LGBTQ caucus issued a statement arguing that the judge’s decision “deliberately injects confusion into the public understanding” of the state’s SAFETY Act and “signals an alarming willingness to undermine long-standing constitutional rights to privacy and nondiscrimination protections across California law.”

The ACLU of Southern California criticized the ruling, writing, “This case is part of a nationwide, coordinated attack on trans people and all those who stand up for trans youth. California must remain steadfast in its commitment to supporting trans youth and we look forward to seeing state leaders stand up for trans and gender nonconforming students by promptly pursuing an appeal.”

Attorney General Bonta also responded to Benitez’s ruling, filing a brief on Monday to stay the court’s injunction. EdSource reported that a spokesperson for Bonta said the district court misapplied the law and that the decision would eventually be reversed on appeal.

“We are committed to securing school environments that allow transgender students to safely participate as their authentic selves while recognizing the important role that parents play in students’ lives,” Bonta’s office said in a statement.

Passenger stories spotlight growing tension over airline seating rules

More and more travelers are taking to social media to share the uncomfortable experiences they’ve had sitting in cramped airplane seats — prompting renewed debate over airline seating policies and passenger etiquette.

Across multiple platforms, passengers have posted videos and detailed accounts about situations in which they were literally pressed against windows or armrests on fully booked flights.

Some users described feeling trapped, panicked or even short of breath during flights when neighboring passengers leaned into their space or occupied more than the person’s assigned seat area.

PASSENGERS SHARE ‘WEIRDEST’ THINGS SEEN ON PLANES, INCLUDING UNUSUAL FOODS, BARE FEET AND BARNYARD ANIMALS

In one widely discussed Reddit post, a passenger said he or she was crushed against the side of the plane during a cross-country flight after the middle-seat passenger fell asleep shortly after takeoff.

The user said attempts to push back were unsuccessful — and the person eventually asked for help from flight attendants.

The post prompted hundreds of responses from users who said they, too, had encountered situations like that.

One user wrote, “United has a policy for this — [passengers] must be able to sit in their own seat with the armrests fully down, otherwise they need a second seat. If there aren’t extra seats, they need to change to a flight that has some.”

HOT DEBATE ABOUT ‘NIGHTMARE’ PLANE PASSENGER ERUPTS AFTER MAN BREWS ESPRESSO AT 35,000 FEET

Many people urged other passengers to raise seating concerns during the boarding process rather than after a flight departs — while others said the airlines often fail to enforce their own policies.

On TikTok, users have posted videos describing feeling squeezed into their seats during flights and debating who bears responsibility when space becomes an issue.

“Keep your opinion to yourself.”

In one video, a man described sitting next to a larger passenger and suggested the person may have needed two seats.

Some commenters said criticism should not be directed at larger passengers

“Instead of shaming them, you [should] keep your opinion to yourself,” one user wrote.

Others defended those speaking out about the issue.

“How is he being mean?” one user said, referencing a poster who complained about his situation. “He paid for a seat and was crushed into two-thirds of it.”

“Put the armrest down,” several users wrote.

Florida-based etiquette expert Jacqueline Whitmore, a former flight attendant, said the issue reflects growing challenges as airplane seating continues to shrink.

“The seats on airplanes seem to be getting smaller for everyone, which makes awareness essential,” Whitmore told Fox News Digital.

“No one should be pressed, leaned on or crowded out of their seat.”

“When space becomes a problem and boundaries are crossed, the solution isn’t to suffer in silence,” she also said.

“It’s best to address the situation calmly, thoughtfully and appropriately.”

“No one should be pressed, leaned on or crowded out of their seat.”

The websites of United Airlines and American Airlines note that passengers who need more space can book an additional seat or upgrade to a wider premium cabin — with options to rebook on another flight if extra seating is unavailable.

The airlines also state that passengers must be able to sit within their own seats, with armrests fully lowered.

They recommend addressing seating needs in advance, as same-day accommodations may be limited on full flights.

Prince William plots to axe royal Christmas ritual for Middleton-style ‘chaos’: report

Prince William wants to modernize Christmas at the palace.

The claim was made by royal commentator and broadcaster Neil Sean, following reports that the Prince of Wales wants to eliminate what some consider a dated royal holiday tradition once he becomes king.

“Every year, the royals truly let their hair down and show off their sense of humor while having a gentle dig at each other out of the gaze of the public domain,” Sean told Fox News Digital.

PRINCE WILLIAM WAS SHUT DOWN BY KING CHARLES AFTER FAMILY STRUGGLES LEFT HIM ‘SHAKEN TO THE CORE’: BOOK

“Every Christmas Eve, the famous trestle table is set up, and depending on your seniority, you go up and get your Christmas present. These are £1 and £5 joke presents, an idea started by Queen Elizabeth II.”

“According to this recent report, William wants to get rid of it because he believes it’s forced,” said Sean.

“But the report is wrong. What William wants to do is include more participation from palace staff, where they could mingle. My sources tell me William enjoys the informal gatherings hosted by Princess Catherine’s family and wants to move in that direction — more family-oriented, less formal, and less about seniority.”

In addition to getting palace staff more involved with the festivities, the father of three is reportedly pushing to overhaul yet another longstanding royal ritual.

“Another tradition that is up for discussion is the famous Christmas Day walk to church,” said Sean.

“It is well received and loved by all, according to the source. William thinks this also needs a radical rethink. He does not necessarily like being on display on what he views as a private and sacred day.

“However, while sometimes clashing with King Charles, he understands the public’s wish to see the royal family informally. For the king, however, it’s important to interact with the public who give up part of their Christmas Day to meet the royals.”

The king, 77, isn’t the only one who is in favor of keeping the annual Christmas walk with the family.

“According to my source, this is one area that William and Catherine don’t necessarily agree on,” Sean claimed, noting that the Princess of Wales shares the same mindset as her father-in-law.

“But like with so many things, it is all up for discussion in the future of the monarchy under King William.”

Fox News Digital reached out to Kensington Palace for comment.

The Daily Mail previously reported that William had gotten used to spending Christmas privately with his wife and their three young children.

“Friends say the couple enjoy the Middleton-style ‘family chaos’ present-opening, rather than Sandringham’s more orchestrated festivities,” the outlet reported.

British royals expert Hilary Fordwich told Fox News Digital that William, 43, has an issue with the “hierarchical nature” of distributing gag gifts among the royals at Christmas. Inspired by his wife’s family, he’s said to be eager to introduce a more informal celebration when he becomes king.

“He rejects this sort of pecking order,” Fordwich explained. “He isn’t comfortable with rigid class distinctions in general, which is consistent and a common theme regarding everything he touches. He wants his courtiers to feel less stiff, but he does his utmost to balance the monarchy’s pageantry while updating it to keep a degree of mystique.”

“An example of this is that staff at the Duchy of Cornwall are no longer expected to wear ties during his visits, conveying a more casual atmosphere,” she said. “At Adelaide Cottage, he’s fine with children running in and out. He’s already relaxed formal protocols of mandatory bowing and curtseying, making interactions more relatable — and as natural as meeting a future king can be.”

“He’s all for less pomp, more purpose,” Fordwich added.

Sean said that, moving forward, William hopes to make the royal tradition of exchanging gag gifts more relaxed and inclusive, rather than tied to the hierarchy within the line of succession.

“He wants to get a huge barrel, put all the presents in, and simply call up various members of the family to plunge their hand in the barrel and reveal who they’ve got a present from,” he said.

Royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams said that there’s no doubt the tradition, revamped or not, is here to stay.

“If the royals did not give each other joke gifts, it would be a joke,” Fitzwilliams told Fox News Digital. “If those who have everything, or appear to, waste money on expensive presents, it would be ridiculous. It was once quipped that the tradition of joke gifts was ‘Dickens in a Cartier setting.’”

As for staff taking part in the festivities, Fitzwilliams admitted he has his doubts.

“I would have thought household staff value what freedom they have during the festive season and use it to relax when not on duty,” he said. “Serving royals requires formality. You just can’t relax conventionally.”

True Royalty TV co-founder Nick Bullen previously told Fox News Digital that on Christmas Eve, the royals gather around to exchange wild and wacky gifts.

“They do like to have fun,” said Bullen. “The presents they give to each other are normally quite silly. If you’ve got all the greatest jewelry in the world, all the greatest works of art in the world, all the greatest clothes in the world, what would you give each other for Christmas? It tends to be small joke presents.”

According to Bullen, the royals get together every year at Sandringham, where they let loose.

“Do you know what a whoopee cushion is?” Bullen chuckled. “I’ve heard that they’ve been given in the past. I’ve heard that silly bath toys [were also] given in the past. Whether it’s true or not, I don’t know. But slightly rude, slightly funny, slightly on-the-edge presents are of the order of the day.”

“Queen Elizabeth II decreed early on that since the royal family is blessed with wealth and luxuries beyond imagining, presents exchanged should be gag gifts of the whoopee cushion variety,” Christopher Andersen, author of “The King,” told Fox News Digital.

PRINCE WILLIAM, KATE MIDDLETON CHANGE THE GAME FOR ROYAL LIFE DUBBED ‘TOTAL HELL’ BY INSIDER

Charles’s favorite Christmas gift was an upholstered white leather toilet seat — a gift from his sister, Princess Anne,” Andersen claimed. “He liked it so much that he still travels with it when he goes abroad.”

Royal photographer and broadcaster Helena Chard told Fox News Digital that Princess Anne has been crowned “The Queen of Gifts” among her family.

“She gave a light-up pepper grinder to the late Prince Philip,” she said. “This was the perfect gift for the ‘King of Barbecues.’”

Prince Harry was the expert at choosing “rude” gifts to his grandmother’s delight, Andersen revealed.

“One year, it was a shower cap embroidered with ‘Ain’t Life a B—–,’” he alleged. “Another year, Harry gave the queen a ‘Big Mouth Billy Bass’ talking fish plaque. Whenever someone shrieked with surprise at a rubber snake or fake spider, the late queen used to say matter-of-factly, ‘Oh, that would be Harry.’”

William also liked to poke fun at both his younger brother and grandmother.

“Prince William gifted a ‘Grow Your Own Girlfriend’ kit to Prince Harry,” Chard alleged.

“William also gifted a pair of comfy slippers to the late Queen Elizabeth II, emblazoned with her image. She was tickled pink,” said Chard.

Department of War reveals new US military tool that is ‘first step’ in future of warfare

The recently launched “GenAI” tool for U.S. service members and Department of War workers is a “critical first step” in the future of warfare, according to a military expert.

This month, the Pentagon announced the launch of GenAI.mil, a military-focused AI platform powered by Google Gemini. Secretary of War Pete Hegseth said the platform is designed to give U.S. military personnel direct access to AI tools to help “revolutioniz[e] the way we win.”

On Monday, the Department of War also announced that the Pentagon is further integrating Elon Musk’s xAI Grok family of models into the GenAI platform, allowing employees to use xAI safely on secure government systems for routine work, including tasks involving sensitive but unclassified information.

In an interview with Fox News Digital, Emelia Probasco, a Navy veteran, former Pentagon official and senior fellow at Georgetown University’s Center for Security and Emerging Technology, explained that the tool will help train Department of War service members and civilians on the use of artificial intelligence in their everyday workflow, preparing them for further integration of AI in military matters.

WAR DEPARTMENT REFOCUSES ON AI, HYPERSONICS AND DIRECTED ENERGY IN MAJOR STRATEGY OVERHAUL

Probasco said the tool will have a “big impact” on the everyday functioning of the Department of War.

“Prior to the rollout of this new website and having Gemini 3 available to the force, folks were either using sort of a tool that wasn’t as capable … or even worse, they were sort of going to their home computers and trying to do various things on their home computers, which they’re not supposed to do, but it was probably happening,” Probasco explained. “Now they’ve got a more secure environment where they can experiment with these tools and really start to learn what they’re good for and what they’re not good for.”

While Probasco said she does not believe the tools, such as the GenAI platform, “fully changes war,” she thinks “it’s the critical first step in training so that we know how to use it well.”

She said that the Department of War has “made it very clear in the past year that they want to forge ahead and be innovative and try new things and adopt AI.”

The GenAI tool, Probasco said, gives the department a type of sandbox to experiment with for still bigger innovations to come.

FOX NEWS AI NEWSLETTER: HEGSETH MOVES TO REVOLUTIONIZE AMERICAN WARFIGHTING

“There are responsible people in the department who are trying to figure out what is the best use of this tool. Let’s try lots of experiments in sort of sandboxes or in safe places so that when a conflict comes, we are ready and ahead, frankly, of any adversary who has started to play with the tools,” she explained.

Probasco said the Department of War understands that adversaries such as China are also developing and experimenting with artificial intelligence. Indeed, this month, President Donald Trump announced he would be partially reversing a Biden-era restriction on high-end chip exports, permitting Nvidia to export its artificial-intelligence chips to China and other countries.

The H200 chips are high-performance processors made by Nvidia that help run artificial intelligence programs, like chatbots, machine learning and data-center tasks.

Lawmakers on Capitol Hill voiced that they are split over the decision, with some seeing the move as a dangerous concession and others as strategic.

HEGSETH TO HIGHLIGHT REBUILDING THE ‘ARSENAL OF FREEDOM’ IN SPEECH AT REAGAN NATIONAL DEFENSE FORUM

Either way, Probasco said “we have lots of evidence” that China “is doing rapid experimentation [with AI] across all domains of warfare.”

“And it’s not, can I use a chatbot, but rather, ‘Can I gather up lots of information to start to target individuals for espionage?’ For example, [and], ‘Can I use data to create more sophisticated cyber-attacks?’” she explained.

“There is this sort of dynamic of a race between the two sides trying to figure out how to adopt it,” she explained.

Though important, Probasco said the GenAI tool is “not going to necessarily be the weapon system that gains [the U.S.] an advantage.”

KYRSTEN SINEMA WARNS US ADVERSARY WILL PROGRAM AI WITH ‘CHINESE VALUES’ IF AMERICA FALLS BEHIND IN TECH RACE

She assured the AI tool that will truly give the U.S. a military advantage “is underway,” but said “that’s not the sort of thing you just roll out for every service member to use.”

“It’s important to remember that using a chatbot to help you think through certain problems or do talking points is not what’s going to win the war. There are much more sophisticated military systems that use generative AI; they use other kinds of what’s called ‘good old-fashioned AI.’ There are lots of other techniques that militaries need to use,” she said.

“Those are already in the works, and they’ve been in the works for years,” Probasco explained, adding, “That’s not going to be rolled out in a big public announcement where everybody can play with it.”

It was a struggle for UNLV in their 17-10 Frisco Bowl loss to Ohio on Tuesday night at the Ford Center. In the fourth quarter, UNLV’s tight end tackled its running back on the goal line.

UNLV was down 17-3 with just over five minutes left in the fourth quarter and was in the red zone looking for a touchdown. It was third-and-goal from the Ohio 1-yard line when the offense sabotaged itself.

Tight end Matt Byrnes came in motion pre-snap, and the ball was snapped once he got past the left tackle. His job on the play was to come through the formation and seal the edge, allowing running back Keyvone Lee to blast through into the end zone for a touchdown.

Instead, Byrnes came across and wiped out Lee behind the line of scrimmage for a 1-yard loss on the play. Lee took the handoff and ran two steps before being clobbered by his own teammate.

UNLV ended up scoring one play later on fourth-and-goal as quarterback Anthony Colandrea ran it in for the touchdown from two yards out, so it all worked out on that drive.

New White House data reveals states with lowest inflation — and the driving factor

FIRST ON FOX: An analysis from the White House Council of Economic Advisers finds inflation has been lower in conservative-led states than in liberal-led states over the past year, with the largest gaps in energy and transportation costs.

Reviewed by FOX Business, the analysis draws on year-over-year consumer price index data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics through November 2025 and finds inflation averaging 2.5% in conservative-led states versus 3% in liberal-led states.

Because there is no official state-level CPI, the CEA used regional inflation data and adjusted it based on each state’s population.

Made with Flourish • Create a chart

The inflation divide widens at the city level, with metro areas in conservative states seeing 1.9% year-over-year inflation, versus 3% in metro areas located in liberal states.

Energy inflation is one of the biggest drivers of higher overall inflation in liberal-run cities. In major metro areas such as Baltimore, Chicago, Los Angeles and New York, energy prices increased far more rapidly than in cities located in conservative states.

Energy and transportation costs together account for much of the inflation gap between metro areas.
