Kate Middleton announces major health milestone in new family video

Kate Middleton has completed her chemotherapy treatment for cancer.

The mother of three took to social media on Monday to share the update on her health.

“As the summer comes to an end, I cannot tell you what a relief it is to have finally completed my chemotherapy treatment,” the 42-year-old wrote. “The last nine months have been incredibly tough for us as a family. Life as you know it can change in an instant and we have had to find a way to navigate the stormy waters and road unknown.”

“The cancer journey is complex, scary and unpredictable for everyone, especially those closest to you,” she shared. “With humility, it also brings you face to face with your own vulnerabilities in a way you have never considered before, and with that, a new perspective on everything. This time has above all reminded William and me to reflect and be grateful for the simple yet important things in life, which so many of us often take for granted. Of simply loving and being loved. Doing what I can to stay cancer free is now my focus.”

“Although I have finished chemotherapy, my path to healing and full recovery is long and I must continue to take each day as it comes,” the princess continued. “I am however looking forward to being back at work and undertaking a few more public engagements in the coming months when I can. Despite all that has gone before I enter this new phase of recovery with a renewed sense of hope and appreciation of life.

“William and I are so grateful for the support we have received and have drawn great strength from all those who are helping us at this time. Everyone’s kindness, empathy and compassion has been truly humbling. To all those who are continuing their own cancer journey – I remain with you, side by side, hand in hand. Out of darkness, can come light, so let that light shine bright.”

Sanders exposes reason Harris is flip-flopping on agendas in ‘damaging’ viral clip

Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., gave a candid answer when asked about Vice President Kamala Harris flip-flopping on several of her progressive policy positions with less than two months to go until the November election.

“She has previously supported Medicare-For-All, now she does not. She’s previously supported a ban on fracking, now she does not. These, senator, are ideas that you have campaigned on. Do you think she is abandoning her progressive ideals?” NBC anchor Kristen Welker asked Sanders on “Meet the Press.”

“No, I don’t think she’s abandoning her ideals,” he replied. “I think she’s trying to be pragmatic and doing what she thinks is right in order to win the election.”

HARRIS SHIFTS KEY POSITIONS ON BORDER, ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION AS CAMPAIGN PROMISES ‘PRAGMATIC’ APPROACH

Since emerging as the Democratic nominee, Harris has distanced herself from far-left policies on immigration, energy and health care that she previously embraced.

When asked to defend her shifting policy positions during her first sit-down interview as the nominee in August, Harris said her “values have not changed.”

“I think the most important and most significant aspect of my policy perspective and decisions is my values have not changed,” Harris told CNN’s Dana Bash. “You mentioned the Green New Deal. I have always believed, and I have worked on it, that the climate crisis is real, that it is an urgent matter to which we should apply metrics that include holding ourselves to deadlines around time. We did that with the Inflation Reduction Act.”

“We have set goals for the United States of America, and by extension, the globe, around when we should meet certain standards for reduction of greenhouse gas emissions,” Harris continued.

“That value has not changed. My value around what we need to do to secure our border, that value has not changed. I spent two terms as the attorney general of California prosecuting transnational criminal organizations, violations of American laws regarding the passage, illegal passage, of guns, drugs and human beings across our border. My values have not changed,” she said.

On NBC, Sanders said his views were “slightly different” than Harris’, but he still considers her a “progressive” with similar goals.

49 DAYS: KAMALA HARRIS HAS YET TO DO FORMAL PRESS CONFERENCE SINCE EMERGING AS DEMOCRATIC NOMINEE

“She has another approach toward moving to universal health care,” Sanders said about Harris no longer supporting Medicare-For-All.

“But again, I think on issues like expanding Medicare, like expanding Social Security and lifting the cap on taxable income that the rich put so we can raise Social Security benefits… the need to raise the minimum wage from a starvation, $7.25 minimum wage to a living wage… I think if you campaign on those issues, raising questions on billionaires, you know what? She’s going to win, and I think she can win big,” he continued.

Sanders reiterated that he believes Harris to be a “progressive” before listing policies they share support for.

“Look, she and I – she is not where I am, but I think, for example, when she talks about making the child tax credit permanent and you know, we did that in the American Rescue Plan. We lowered childhood poverty by 40%. Kristen, we should not have, as the richest country on earth, one of the highest rates of childhood poverty. When she talks about 3 million units of affordable housing, that’s a big deal because we have a major housing crisis in America. When she talks about passing the PRO Act to make it easier for workers to join unions, that’s a big deal because we have to expand the union movement so the workers get decent wages. So yes, her views are not mine, but I do consider her a progressive,” he added.

A campaign spokesperson previously confirmed to Fox News Digital that Harris had changed several of her key policy positions and was taking a “pragmatic” approach to “bring all sides together.”

“While Donald Trump is wedded to the extreme ideas in his Project 2025 agenda, Vice President Harris believes real leadership means bringing all sides together to build consensus,” spokesperson Mia Ehrenberg said in a statement. “It is that approach that made it possible for the Biden-Harris administration to achieve bipartisan breakthroughs on everything from infrastructure to gun violence prevention. As President, she will take that same pragmatic approach, focusing on common-sense solutions for the sake of progress.”

A Harris campaign adviser told Fox that her positions have been “shaped by three years of effective governance as part of the Biden-Harris administration.”

Harris and former President Trump will meet Tuesday at a debate hosted by ABC News.

Pelosi suggests presidential debate between Trump and VP Harris may not happen

AUSTIN, Texas – Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi suggested former President Trump could skip the upcoming presidential debate because of “cowardice,” but the GOP nominee’s campaign insisted she’s simply attempting to spread “fake news.”

Pelosi appeared at the Texas Tribune Festival over the weekend where she spoke to journalist Kara Swisher about a variety of topics before signing copies of her latest book. Pelosi spent much of the time ripping Trump and turned up the vitriol when Tuesday’s highly anticipated ABC News Presidential Debate came up.

Swisher asked Pelosi what advice she would give former President Trump ahead of the matchup with Harris. The 84-year-old Pelosi quipped, “You think he’s gonna show up?”

The largely liberal audience burst into laughter, followed by applause, as Pelosi slightly smiled.

Swisher asked, “Do you know something I don’t know?”

“I know cowardice when I see it,” Pelosi responded.

Swisher then said that she assumed Pelosi agrees with former Wyoming Congresswoman Liz Cheney, who called Trump a “misogynist pig” on the very same stage during a previous Trib Fest event.

“Isn’t she wonderful?” Pelosi said of Cheney.

CNN PANEL REACTS TO PELOSI REVEALING SHE AND BIDEN HAVEN’T SPOKEN SINCE HE DROPPED OUT: ‘SHE’S IN CHARGE’

Earlier in the conversation, Pelosi told Swisher that “Speaker Emerita” is her current position, but “Speaker” remains her title.

The Trump campaign dismissed Pelosi’s suggestion of the former president skipping the debate as “fake news.”

“Nancy Pelosi has no idea what she is talking about and has been proven to be a liar and fraud. If she isn’t busy giving herself fake titles to make herself feel better, she’s peddling fake news because it’s the only thing she’s ever done,” Trump spokesperson Steven Cheung told Fox News Digital.

Pelosi and Trump have a long history of animosity toward each other, regularly trading barbs over the years. In 2020, Pelosi famously tore her printed copy of Trump’s State of the Union address immediately after he finished addressing a Joint Session of Congress.

Trump and Harris are scheduled to debate on Tuesday night in Philadelphia.

Another big-box store bites the dust after admitting ‘substantial doubt’

About three months after Big Lots noted “substantial doubt about the Company’s ability to continue” in a U.S. Securities & Exchange Commission (SEC) filing, the company said on Monday it has secured $707.5 million to support its operations and sell its business to private equity firm Nexus Capital.

This comes as the company has initiated bankruptcy proceedings under Chapter 11. Big Lots listed its assets and liabilities in the range of $1 billion to $10 billion, according to a filing with bankruptcy court in Delaware, which showed creditors in the range of 5,001-10,000.

Big Lots cited troubles that began during the COVID-19 pandemic, and “macroeconomic factors such as high inflation and interest rates that are beyond its control.”

As a result, Big Lots says consumers are spending less on home and seasonal products, which is a “significant portion of the Company’s revenue.”

BIG LOTS WEIGHING POSSIBILITY OF BANKRUPTCY FILING AS SALES DWINDLE

“We are proud of the work we do every day across Big Lots to provide our customers with unmistakable value and exceptional savings, as well as building stronger communities through our philanthropic efforts,” Big Lots President and CEO Bruce Thorn said in a press release.

“The actions we are taking today will enable us to move forward with new owners who believe in our business and provide financial stability, while we optimize our operational footprint, accelerate improvement in our performance, and deliver on our promise to be the leader in extreme value.”

Earlier this summer, Big Lots told the SEC it planned to close 35 to 40 stores, which quickly grew to hundreds. Additional store closures are expected “as part of the court-supervised sale process.”

The retailer operates around 1,400 stores across the U.S. and employs more than 30,000 workers.

Nexus will serve as a “stalking horse bidder” in a court-supervised auction process, Big Lots said, adding that the deal will close in the fourth quarter of 2024 if Nexus is deemed the winning bidder. A stalking horse bid is used as a starting or minimally accepted offer that other interested bidders must surpass if they want to buy the asset or the company.

Big Lots said its second quarter results are in line with the guidance. The company will release its full second-quarter results on Sept. 12, after previously postponing it from Sept. 6.

“We are excited to have the opportunity to partner with Big Lots and help return this iconic brand to its status as America’s leading extreme value retailer. The Big Lots business has incredible potential and we are confident that its greatest days are ahead,” Evan Glucoft, Managing Director of Nexus, said in a statement.

Sorority girl was left with ‘catastrophic injuries,’ now her parents are suing

Sarah Cox, a junior at Northeastern University in Boston and member of the Phi Omega chapter of the Alpha Epsilon Phi sorority, fell out of a second-story window during a party in March 2023 and received “catastrophic” injuries as a result.

Now, Cox’s family is suing the property manager of the rental house from which she fell, her sorority, the sorority’s student president and the sorority’s Northeastern chapter.

Between 6 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. on March 31, 2023, while members of the sorority gathered at the rental home on Judge Street in Boston’s Mission Hill neighborhood ahead of their formal later that evening, Cox fell from a kitchen window.

“The kitchen was crowded with party guests and Sarah Cox fell out of a window onto the driveway below, a distance of about 20 feet,” the lawsuit filed in Suffolk County states. She suffered “catastrophic injuries” as a result of the fall and was in a coma for months, according to her family’s GoFundMe page.

LAWMAKER DEMANDS UNIVERSITIES HOLD STUDENTS ACCOUNTABLE FOR ‘BAD BEHAVIOR’

In December 2023, Cox’s family posted their latest update to the page, saying Cox “is the same sweet and cherished presence in our lives that she always has been.”

“We are in the Pediatric Rehab now. This place offers intensive and specialized therapies that will inshallah (God be willing) expedite Sarah’s recovery. Our days and night merge into a blur as we take care of our precious daughter,” they wrote in a description for the page.

Their complaint alleges that some 30 people were in the house at the time of the party and Cox’s fall. Plaintiffs are accusing the property manager, Marcia Ramos and Ramos Properties, of negligence and failure to warn tenants that the windows were low enough for someone to easily fall out of them.

The lawsuit alleges that Ramos was responsible for ensuring the property was safe and “failed to keep tenants from granting access to more people than apartments in the Property could safely accommodate at one time.” The lawsuit further alleges that Ramos should have foreseen unsafe crowding and alcohol consumption in the building being used by college students.

“Ms. Ramos had a duty to manage the property to keep it safe for those lawfully within the apartments in it by keeping window screens securely installed in windows that are so low that a person could easily fall out of such windows,” the lawsuit states.

The plaintiffs further accused the Phi Omega chapter of the Alpha Epsilon Phi (POAEP) sorority at Northeastern and its student president at the time, Maggie Scales, of negligence and failure to warn.

“POAEP had a duty to keep those lawfully within the apartment, when used for sorority related activities, from any dangerous uses and conditions caused by those members of the sorority,” the complaint alleges. “POAEP failed to sufficiently warn its members who host sorority related events in their apartments of the dangers and the foreseeable likelihood of injuries to those members in attendance at such events when those in attendance including its members are impaired by drinking alcohol and the hosts allow more people in the apartment than can safely accommodate at one time.”

UNC ‘FLAGSTOCK’ ERUPTS IN ‘USA!’ CHANTS AS JOHN RICH, LEE GREENWOOD TELL STUDENTS ‘IT’S OK TO BE PATRIOTIC’

All defendants named in the lawsuit have filed motions to dismiss. The sorority defendants argue that the complaint “fails to state facts sufficient to support any negligence theory against the sorority defendants.”

Defendants further argue in another filing that the plaintiffs’ complaint does not say exactly how Cox fell out the window or why.

“When you cut through the six counts of negligence against the sorority defendants in the 170-paragraph complaint, plaintiffs’ claim is: ‘Sarah Cox fell out of a window onto the driveway below.’ While certainly sympathetic to Cox’s alleged ‘catastrophic injuries as a result of the fall,’ the counts against the sorority defendants fail under the most basic duty-breach-causation-damages analysis,” their motion to dismiss states.

The sorority defendants also note that the Coxes’ complaint does not allege that Sarah Cox consumed alcohol, that she was served or coerced into drinking alcohol, or that alcohol was “even present that night.”

“Plaintiffs fail to show how, why, or what caused Cox to fall, or how any defendant … is legally responsible for it. Rather, plaintiffs just assume all defendants must be somehow liable,” the defendants’ filing states, going on to criticize the plaintiffs’ “scattershot pleading style.”

Cox’s family says she will require 24-hour care, seven days a week “on a permanent basis” because her “injuries are catastrophic.”

The parents have also experienced emotional distress, and Cox’s medical bills have “far exceeded $200,000,” and costs for her care “will continue to mount for the rest of her life.”

Both the plaintiffs’ and defendants’ attorneys declined comment at this time.

A hearing in the case is scheduled for Wednesday in Suffolk County Superior Court.

Woman on a flight captures difficult seating situation — video immediately goes viral

A woman who was recently traveling on a flight said she experienced a difficult seating situation after a man invaded her legroom space.

Erin Rempel, 21, recently took an hour-and-a-half flight from Winnipeg, a city in the province of Manitoba, Canada, to Edmonton in Alberta, Canada, to visit her family.

After she sat down in her assigned middle seat of the Flair Airlines flight, the man in the window seat spread his knees out wide — crossing into her personal space and “manspreading,” she told Fox News Digital.

TIKTOK USER SAYS AMERICAN AIRLINES REPAID HER FOR GIVING UP SEAT, SOCIAL MEDIA USERS CHIME IN

“I kept trying to push his legs lightly back to his side to hopefully have him catch my hints,” she said.

In a TikTok video that has garnered more than 17 million views, Rempel showed the man’s legs crossing into her space and captioned it, “Why would anyone EVER need that much room???”

Rempel said she finally reached down to grab something and pushed his knee toward him more aggressively.

She said the passenger might or might not have been sleeping but that he was awake enough to react when she pushed his leg back.

She said he “moved and shifted himself to a different position.”

Rempel said that she stands 6-feet, 2-inches tall — and because the “older man” was shorter than her, he didn’t need to be in her space.

The comments on Rempel’s TikTok video revealed a mix of opinions, as many people said Rempel should have spoken up while others said they simply “would’ve cried.”

TIKTOK TREND HAS AIRPLANE PASSENGERS BINDING THEIR ANKLES FOR EXTRA COMFORT: ‘INCREDIBLY DANGEROUS’

Some TikTok users asked Rempel why she didn’t pay for an upgraded seat to begin with.

But Rempel told Fox News Digital that her flight was only $90 and she was trying to be budget friendly.

“I honestly didn’t want to upgrade because I was just trying to visit my family last-minute on a budget, so the flight wasn’t worth spending an extra $20,” she said.

One user reacted to the story by saying, “Please just own your space. Take it. It is yours.”

Another user said, “This is giving me claustrophobia.”

Other social media users asked why she didn’t speak up, either to the other passenger directly or to a flight attendant.

Rempel said she “didn’t think it was worth it to cause a scene for an hour-and-a-half long flight.”

In an emailed statement to Fox News Digital, Flair Airlines said, “We don’t think we should be stepping into this disagreement between two customers.”

Rempel said she recommends that other passengers speak to a flight attendant if this ever happens to them while traveling.

“Having a second eye on it is always a very good idea,” she said.

Jacqueline Whitmore, a Florida-based etiquette expert, told Fox News Digital via email that “it’s important to respect everyone’s personal space on an airplane.”

“If you plan to recline, do so slowly (to avoid crushing knees).”

She added, “That means keep your arms and legs to yourself and avoid leaning into your neighbor’s space.”

Whitmore also suggested that travelers with extra long legs request an aisle seat or a seat with extended legroom.

“If you plan to recline, do so slowly (to avoid crushing knees) and check to make sure the person behind you isn’t using their tray table, especially during meals,” she said.

“When watching a movie or listening to music,” she added, “always wear headphones and keep the volume down.”

Meetings aren’t the only thing you should schedule — the surprising task to also pencil in

Leigh Ann Errico of New Jersey spends her days with business executives, working with them on everything from leadership goals to personal wellness. That includes coaching them about the right foods to eat for high-pressure situations.

Fox News Digital spoke with the Georgetown University-certified leadership coach and founder of LAeRRICO & Partners about why she conducts routine food seminars with her clients in the health care and pharmaceutical industries. (See the video at the top of this article.)

She also revealed what these executives were previously eating — and how changing their dietary habits helps improve their productivity and work-life balance.

EASIEST VEGETABLE STIR-FRY RECIPE EVER, SAYS FOUNDER OF LITTLE KITCHEN ACADEMY

A coach of business professionals for 17 years, Errico said she learned early on in her career that she needed to focus on “their inner game.”

“Because their inner game drives the outer game, with diet being a huge part of that,” Errico said during a Zoom interview from her home in Peapack, New Jersey.

Errico spends several sessions with each executive discussing a range of topics — from what foods they’re eating and when, to how they’re preparing their meals.

“These things all drive how we fight off disease, how we fight inflammation, how we keep ourselves healthy,” Errico said.

“And if we can do that, we are undoubtedly going to show up better, less stressed, less anxious and, certainly, be a far more inspirational leader.”

She said many of her clients would turn to “comfort foods” like alcohol and carbs.

So what food does Errico recommend instead?

“Where we want to steer our executives are easy, healthy food choices that are as close to nature as possible,” she said.

Errico suggests incorporating berries into breakfast.

“Berries are extremely rich in antioxidants,” she said. “That protects our brain from stress, and it keeps our mitochondria healthy.”

Fruit and berries with some yogurt or cottage cheese “would be an example of a great breakfast,” Errico said.

When it comes to lunch, foods rich in omega-3s like salmon are “spectacular for reducing inflammation and improving our cognitive function,” Errico said.

FROM SALMON TO SHARK, HERE ARE THE BEST AND WORST FISH FOR YOUR HEALTH, ACCORDING TO EXPERTS

“A bonus would be if you can throw in some leafy greens with your salmon and have a beautiful salad,” Errico said. “Because then it’s rich in fiber.”

Nuts also make for a “powerful, simple snack,” Errico said.

“They’re full of magnesium, and the more magnesium we have, the greater our chance of reducing our depression or anxiety,” Errico said.

PEANUT BUTTER VS. JELLY: DIETITIANS SHARE ‘SPOONFUL’ OF TRUTH ABOUT THE TWO SPREADS

Errico also discourages her clients from eating first thing in the morning or just before bed. She recommends water or tea earlier in the morning, but she tells her clients to wait to eat until 10 or 11 a.m. She also suggests her clients have their last meal of the day by 6 or 7 p.m.

“They book their food or their workouts the way they do a meeting.”

“The best thing I can tell them, and the most successful executives that I see who are mastering this — they book their food or their workouts the way they do a meeting,” Errico said.

It’s in their calendar on their phones, computers and emails.

“And it’s obviously very prescribed, almost robotical,” she said.

“But there’s nothing more important than our health and our disciplines around our body and how it functions. Because it affects our health. It affects how we show up as leaders. It affects who wants to work with us and who doesn’t.”

Water intake is equally important, Errico said.

“Keep pounding the water” throughout the day, she said, and avoid sugary drinks.

Finally, she advises all her clients to eat “lots and lots of protein.”

“Protein is so incredibly important,” she said. “So, make sure you’re choosing protein daily and that you’re conversely staying away from complex carbohydrates.”
