Marvel ‘Avengers’ star Mark Ruffalo reacts to GOP’s landslide victory

Actor and outspoken Harris-Walz campaign supporter Mark Ruffalo admitted that the Democrats “suffered a great loss” on Sunday.

“We got our a–es kicked. What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger, but sometimes you have to spend a little time in bed before it happens. It was hard to come here, honestly,” Ruffalo said during a 20-minute speech behind a podium at the American Civil Liberties Union of Southern California’s Bill of Rights Awards.

The star continued, “The fact that we’re here says a great deal about what we all care about in this life, and I want to appreciate you all for your values and the grief and the fear that you most acutely may be feeling as well, because I know I am.”

“We suffered a great loss, it’s a loss that touches deeply on so much of what we’ve worked for and we’ve hoped for and dreamed of for such a long time now.”

PRESIDENT-ELECT DONALD TRUMP’S VICTORY SENDS HOLLYWOOD INTO TAILSPIN

Ruffalo was a vocal supporter of Vice President Kamala Harris during her campaign. The star of Marvel’s “Avengers,” who portrayed the popular comic book character “The Hulk,” participated in a campaign ad promoting Harris with his fellow cast members of the hit movie franchise. The ad also featured fellow stars Scarlett Johansson, Robert Downey Jr., Don Cheadle, and Paul Bettany.

Ruffalo joins a chorus of famous Hollywood figures expressing disappointment at Harris’ defeat last week when her opponent, President-elect Donald Trump, clinched a landslide victory after he swept every battleground state and secured the popular vote.

Trump’s second presidential election came alongside the GOP winning the Senate majority and likely maintaining the House majority, though some congressional races have yet to be called.

The morning after Election Day, Harris congratulated Trump over the phone and later delivered a concession speech at her alma mater, Howard University.

‘FAMILY TIES’ STAR JUSTINE BATEMAN SLAMS ‘UN-AMERICAN PERIOD’ OVER THE LAST 4 YEARS: ‘COMMON SENSE DISCARDED’

Several other celebrities, many of whom supported Harris, began to soul search after the Republicans’ decisive victory. Furthermore, “The Big Short” director and staunch progressive Adam McKay announced that he was abandoning the Democratic Party for the Green Party or Working Class Families Party.

The Republican Party’s decisive victory has prompted many discussions within the Democratic Party to open an autopsy on the election results, especially considering that a Republican has not won both the popular vote and the electoral college in over 20 years.

For instance, Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., accused the Democratic Party of abandoning the working class.

Ruffalo explained further that “action is the very thing that pushes back despair.”

Ruffalo continued, “those who want to do us harm, we’re related to them too, and they’re related to us. We’re all part of that family, they’ve just gone wrong and forgotten who they are.”

He concluded, “I’ve felt demoralization and despair so many times along the road of all of this, and the message I keep getting is if you’re losing hope, you’re not giving enough and you’re not doing enough. Action is the very thing that pushes back despair.”

How Border Patrol, ICE are reacting to Trump being elected back into the White House

Morale appears to be surging among border authorities after the election of President-elect Donald Trump, who made border security one of the pillars of his campaign, after nearly four years of relaxed immigration policies that saw record numbers of migrants enter the United States.

In addition to strengthening the southern border, Trump has promised to order mass deportations of illegal immigrants. On Monday, he tapped Tom Homan, the former acting director of U.S. Customs and Immigration Enforcement (ICE), to serve as “border czar” in his second administration.

During an appearance on “Fox & Friends,” Homan, who is widely respected within the Border Patrol and ICE, said he plans to fix the border crisis caused by the Biden administration’s policies.

EX-ACTING ICE DIRECTOR SAYS MASS DEPORTATION POSSIBLE WITHOUT FAMILY SEPARATION IF THEY’RE ‘DEPORTED TOGETHER’

“I’ve been on this network for years complaining about what this administration did to this border,” he said. “I’ve been yelling and screaming about it and what they need to do to fix it. So when the president asked me, ‘Would you come back and fix it?’ Of course, I’d be a hypocrite if I didn’t.”

Illegal border crossings surged under President Biden with nearly 3 million in fiscal 2024, according to the Department of Homeland Security’s website. There have been more than 10.8 million illegal encounters since fiscal 2021.

Homan said he supports Trump’s mass deportation plan, saying he would be prioritizing “public safety threats and national security threats.” When asked during a recent interview on CBS’s “60 Minutes” if mass deportations would result in family separations, Homan responded, “Families can be deported together.”

U.S. Border Patrol agents and ICE officials told Fox News the change is like night and day.

TRUMP TO APPOINT FORMER ICE DIRECTOR TOM HOMAN AS NEXT ‘BORDER CZAR’: NOBODY BETTER AT POLICING OUR BORDERS’

“It’s a total 180. Troops are finally feeling like the sun is coming out after a very long storm,” one Massachusetts ICE officer said. “People are fired up to have support. It’s amazing because we all became so numb. I don’t think we realized how bad until we finally have hope again. Everyone is so happy about Homan’s return.”

Another ICE officer in New York said morale was “super high, especially with the Homan news, too.”

“Ecstatic to go to work! Morale is even higher than the first time he won,” an Arizona Border Patrol agent said.

“The morale is through the roof,” National Border Patrol Council President Paul Perez said in an interview. “We’ve received hundreds of calls, texts, emails just saying how happy the agents are.”

“There are a lot of agents that had originally said that they would retire if President Trump did not win. And now those same agents are saying they’re going to hold back on their retirement because they want to serve under this administration again, because they know exactly how it was during this first administration, and they know this one’s going to be even better,” he said.

“We’ve all been hopeful but the give-ups are still trickling in,” a border agent in California said. “Nothing will change until Tom Homan takes the leash off us.”

A border agent in Texas told Fox News that “people who were going to retire are not and everyone is happy.”

“I feel that people know now they will get to do the work they signed up to do and that they want to do,” a senior ICE official said. “They know they can get the bad guys now. Public safety threats, national security threats, gang members, here we come.”

Other officials contacted said they were looking forward to no longer having to use politically correct language, such as “noncitizen,” to describe illegal immigrants

Actress unloads on media ‘extremists’ for fear-mongering over Trump win

Actress Patricia Heaton didn’t mince words while slamming the mainstream media for “fear-mongering” and denigrating voters this election cycle by telling them President-elect Trump poses a threat to their way of life.

“To all these extremists that are allowed television time, who told women that this is what is going to happen to them, shame on you! Shame on you!” she said in a video posted to X over the weekend.

“Apparently, there are some really vulnerable people here who you targeted, and you fear-mongered to and you need to go back on the air and tell them things are going to be okay, tell them that they’re fine.”

PATRICIA HEATON RIPS COLLEGE CAMPUSES FOR ALLOWING ANTISEMITISM, CALLS ON CHRISTIANS TO VISUALLY SUPPORT JEWS

“Also, stop saying people who voted differently from you are ‘uneducated’,” she continued. “Learn your f-ing lesson about smearing people who vote differently from you, who have different needs from you, who have legitimate complaints. Quit dismissing them as uneducated. When are you going to learn?”

Heaton’s words come as left-leaning Americans, distraught over Trump’s landslide victory over Vice President Kamala Harris, have taken to social media to post reaction videos and share their fears over the alleged upcoming loss of reproductive rights and other concerns.

Women have hopped on the trend of shaving their heads and vowing to cut off sexual relationships with men in protest of the GOP’s win.

“I’ve also seen a lot of the response videos — especially from women who are crying, screaming, shaving their heads, saying they’re going to be jailed or rounded up or killed or hunted or whatever,” Heaton said, addressing such posts.

“We need to pray for them, and I just want to say to all you folks who feel that way, don’t make politics or identity groups your religion! Only Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever. Put your faith in Him, not in men, not in man’s institutions, not in human institutions,” she added.

The “Everybody Loves Raymond” actress, who has become known for her efforts to push back against antisemtism, recorded the video directly after returning from a visit to Israel, where she heard the results of the 2024 election.

PATRICIA HEATON DEFENDS CHIEFS KICKER FOLLOWING GRADUATION SPEECH BACKLASH: ‘HE’S NOT A MONSTER’

She called the outcome “very good for the Jewish people.”

President-elect Trump walked away with a massive victory over Vice President Harris last week, eventually winning all key swing states that largely determined the outcome.

Republicans also flipped the Senate red and could likely maintain control of the House of Representatives.

Liberal outlet shares guide for Americans looking to move away after Trump victory

The Washington Post released a guide for Americans seeking to immigrate to a new country as a growing number of people are looking to move out of the country after President-elect Donald Trump won.

An article posted Monday reported how Expatsi, a company that helps Americans move abroad, saw a month’s worth of website traffic within the first few hours after the presidential election. Company founder Jen Barnett also told the paper she continued to see “a couple month’s worth of sales” within the last few days.

The report warned readers that “going full expat can be complicated and expensive” and offered backgrounds on the immigration process in popular destinations like Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand and Ireland.

While it included descriptions of the countries’ immigration processes, the article also gave details on the “political outlook” and “health care” standards in each country.

HARRIS VOTERS IN MICHIGAN TELL POLITICO THEY MIGHT FLEE COUNTRY IF TRUMP WINS: ‘WE’RE CLOSE ENOUGH TO CANADA’

“Britain voted in the Labour Party this summer, heralding its first center-left government in 14 years. The Conservative Party, now in opposition, has shifted further right, while brash Trump ally Nigel Farage, who leads a new, anti-immigration party, also has an outsize influence on politics,” the Washington Post reported. “The majority of people in Britain rely on the publicly funded health system. Most people need to pay an annual surcharge — which could cost up to $1,400 per year — as part of their immigration applications, before they are eligible to use the system.”

The article mentioned how Ireland, Canada and Australia are currently being run by “center-left” or “socially liberal” leaders but cautioned readers about New Zealand’s shift to the right.

“Until last year, some American liberals viewed New Zealand as a faraway utopia, particularly given then-Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern’s center-left policies. New Zealand has turned to the right and is now led by its most conservative government in decades, with many gun control initiatives and environmental protections being reversed,” the Post reported.

A report from the Los Angeles Times last week also highlighted a growing number of Americans, specifically Californians, who are planning to move overseas because they are “fed up” with the divisiveness of U.S. politics. Although wanting to move out of the country has been a common threat among liberal celebrities, experts reported even conservatives want to leave.

“Anecdotally, I’ve heard more and more folks talking not just about a Trump administration, but about the divisiveness in the country,” Amanda Klekowski von Koppenfels, a migration scholar at the University of Kent in Brussels, told the LA Times.

Trump’s granddaughter shares close look at election night celebration

President-elect Trump’s 17-year-old granddaughter shared a vlog of her experience on election night on Monday, capturing her thoughts and emotions as her grandfather clinched the presidency.

Kai Trump, the daughter of Donald Trump, Jr., posted the video on YouTube Monday afternoon. The vlog – which is short for a video blog – begins with the teenage girl getting her makeup professionally done and expressing her thoughts about the election.

“I am here in my house getting ready for the election night at Mar-a-Lago and the convention center,” Kai Trump says as she sits in a makeup chair. “I think today we’re going with straight hair. Jessica’s going to do my amazing makeup…I am still trying to pick a dress out.”

The teenager casually shares her plans in the video, including having dinner with her grandfather hours before he was elected president.

“I’m going to see my grandpa, have family dinner with him, just, like, spend time with them,” Kai Trump says. “And then I think I’m going to head over to the convention center after… just see my friends and like, close family that have supported me and my grandpa over time.”

Kai Trump also discusses a recent golf competition she had and details about her life. The teenager is also seen singing along to songs with her friends in the car.

“I haven’t seen my grandpa in a while because he’s been campaigning,” she says in the video. “I’m super excited to see him again. He’s called me almost every other day.”

The vlog also depicts the 17-year-old’s emotions shifting from anxious to optimistic as the electoral votes were announced in her grandfather’s favor.

NEW YORK DEMOCRAT RIPS ‘FAR LEFT’ FOR TRUMP VICTORY: ‘IVORY-TOWERED NONSENSE’

“I’m a little nervous,” Kai Trump says at the beginning of the night. “Actually, that’s an understatement. I’m very nervous. The past five days I have been so nervous…I feel like I’ve had butterflies in my stomach for so long, and I really hope we find out [the results] soon.”

At the end of the video, the teenager described Nov. 5 as a “special night” and gushed about her grandpa.

“I’m extremely proud of him,” Kai Trump says. “I think he deserves it more than anyone in the whole world. And he really has worked his butt off every single day for the past really eight years or more.”

“He’s such an incredible person and such a unique person,” the granddaughter continues. “And he just fights every single day for America over and over and over again. And he’ll never give up.”

The teenager has been candidly sharing facets of her life on social media in recent days. On Sunday, Kai Trump posted a collection of photos and videos on Instagram of her golfing with her grandfather.

Actor calls out ‘absolute disconnect’ between pro-Harris Hollywood and voters

Robert Davi, an actor from iconic films like “Die Hard,” “The Goonies,” and “License to Kill,” said that watching President-elect Donald Trump’s fight for his political future was a Hollywood-worthy story.

Last week, Trump’s victory in both the electoral college and the popular vote sent shockwaves among elites in the media and entertainment indsutry, many of whom had explicitly endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris. Some of them, particularly talk show hosts like Jimmy Kimmel and Jon Stewart, were openly emotional as they addressed their audiences about Harris’ loss.

Fox News host Brian Kilmeade asked Davi what he imagines will change after Trump’s victory, when so many of the world’s most popular celebrities had endorsed a now-unsuccessful candidate.

“What changes after their futile effort?” he said.

Davi specified that while there are some exceptions, the dominant culture in Hollywood and the entertainment industry condemned Trump and the people who support him.

DEMOCRATS LOOKING TO POINT FINGERS AFTER ‘HUMILIATING’ ELECTION DEFEAT SHOULD START WITH MEDIA: WSJ COLUMNIST

“Who knows what changes? Because as you saw from the Jimmy Kimmel clip and the others, there seems to be an absolute disconnect – I’ve said this before to you – in Hollywood, and there continues to be a disconnect,” Davi said. “Even when the proof is shown to them and I can tell you this, prior to the election, I was getting a lot of messages from friends of mine in the Hollywood community saying, you know, ‘Fascist, how can you vote for this fascist?’ This, that, all the other stuff. And then, I have to say, some afterwards, when he won that night, said ‘Congratulations, he won fair and square,’ that was from some.”

He then argued that the powers that be in the media are ultimately at fault.

“You can’t change that culture because the media – as you know better than anyone, and many of the people out there – the media has lied to us about Donald Trump since the inception of 2015 when he first stepped into the ring, and that has stuck for some reason.”

By contrast, the film actor noted how being at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate was the culmination of what felt like the 1976 rags-to-riches boxing epic “Rocky.”

“I was at Mar-a-Lago that evening – Tuesday evening, and it was emotional. Brian. It was like watching – when I first saw the ‘Rocky’ film in the 70s. The ups and downs, the anticipation, and the elation, and then feeling of relief and tears, you tear up, people tear up. Intelligent people, successful people applauding and cheering, and it was that kind of vibe.”

NEW YORK TIMES CALLS TRUMP VICTORY A ‘GRAVE THREAT’ TO THE REPUBLIC

He then argued that a law from Ancient Rome might be needed to rein in the media that had polarized so much of America with lies about Trump.

“I don’t understand why we can’t have a thing like the calumnia clause back in, from Ancient Rome,” he said, arguing that when a network deliberately lies about Donald Trump breaking a law, it would then be forced to endure the penalty instead.

He went on to note that false media narratives have “stuck in Hollywood” to the point “it’s absurd.”

Many “around the world” have been sending him celebratory texts about Trump winning, from Scandinavia to the Balkans and the Baltics.

“I don’t know how we fix this Hollywood thing,” Davi said. “It starts with the media, it starts with holding the lying accountable, and with our government.”

Kilmeade responded by contesting that as it is, many Americans deliberately ignored media narratives and supported Trump, among a wide range of regions and identities.

“It has to make them think, ‘Wow, do they have the volume up when I’m speaking?’” he said.

Davi scorched California Gov. Gavin Newsom in particular for failing to correct course earlier, suggesting he is “trying to do things now he should have done four years ago – three years ago, because he’s positioning himself for 2028 or whatever it is.”

As Davi signed off, he said, “Thank you and thank the American people for waking up and letting this man, Donald Trump, and the team he’s put together. I mean this was historic, Brian, as we all know, this was the most historic moment in my lifetime.”
