TikTok CEO reportedly reaching out to Elon Musk for Trump advice as platform faces ban
TikTok CEO Shou Chew has been seeking out Elon Musk’s advice about President-elect Trump’s approaching second term, according to a report.
Musk endorsed Trump last summer and has been close with the president-elect since, even staying at Mar-a-Lago after the election and joining him on calls with leaders like Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
Chew has reached out to Musk, the owner of X, more than once, asking him about the new administration and Trump’s potential tech policies, the Wall Street Journal reported, citing anonymous sources familiar with the matter.
TikTok is suing the Biden administration – citing the First Amendment – over a new law signed by President Biden that would ban the social media platform in the U.S. if China-owned ByteDance doesn’t divest by January.

The law addresses security concerns over the Chinese government having access to U.S. user information and influence over the popular app.

During his presidency, Trump signed an executive order to ban TikTok in the U.S. but has shifted his position during the campaign, telling CNBC earlier this year that Congress should “make that decision, because it’s a tough decision to make.”

He did, however, express national security concerns.
Trump also joined TikTok in June, saying in a video on Truth Social: “Those who want to save TikTok in America, vote for Trump.”

Trump plans to halt the ban when he gets into office, the Washington Post reported, citing unnamed sources.

Trudeau torched after video shows him dancing at pop concert while riot rocks country
Video of Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau dancing at a Taylor Swift concert amid a destructive protest in Montreal drew outrage over the weekend.
Trudeau, who represents a district in Montreal, had attended the Taylor Swift concert in Toronto on Friday night. A viral video posted on X shows the Canadian politician dancing and singing along to the song “You Don’t Own Me” before Swift took the stage.
Toronto is roughly 280 miles west of the Canadian capital of Ottawa and 330 miles west of the Montreal district that Trudeau represents.
During the same night, anti-NATO demonstrators set off smoke bombs and marched through the streets of Montreal with Palestinian flags. According to the Montreal Gazette, the rioters set cars on fire and clashed with police.

The image of Trudeau dancing amid protests in his hometown sparked outrage online. Some social media users even compared Trudeau to Nero, the infamous Roman emperor known for “fiddling while Rome burned.”
Don Stewart, a Member of Parliament (MP) representing part of Toronto, called out the prime minister in a post on X.
“Lawless protesters run roughshod over Montreal in violent protest. The Prime Minister dances,” Stewart wrote. “This is the Canada built by the Liberal government.”

Gun ownership is changing among both Republicans and Democrats in different ways
A recent Gallup poll found more Republican women are becoming gun owners than before, while gun ownership among Democratic-leaning men declines.
According to the Gallup survey published Thursday, the percentage of Republican female gun owners has increased from 19% from 2007-2012 to 33% from 2019-2024.
Twenty-two percent of Republican women surveyed in 2013-2018 told Gallup they owned guns, meaning there has been a 50% increase in gun ownership among conservative women since.
“Meanwhile, the rate has fallen seven percentage points among Democratic men, to 29%, and is down five points among independent men, to 39%,” Gallup added. “Republican men remain the most likely gun owners among gender and party identification subgroups, at 60%.”

The rate of gun ownership nationwide is still around 30%, Gallup noted, but the number “masks a sharp increase in ownership among Republican women offsetting declines among Democratic and independent men.
“Meanwhile, ownership remains high among Republican men but is relatively scarce among Democratic and independent women.”
Men are still generally more likely to own guns than women, and the study concluded that gun ownership “may be influenced by one’s political beliefs more than in the past, likely because of the salience of the gun issue in political campaigns and political culture today.”
Vice President Kamala Harris recently announced she owns a gun, prompting surprise across the country, but Republican women were not necessarily wooed by the admission.

Liberal scientist, Maher clash over issue of biological men competing in women’s sports
“Real Time” host Bill Maher clashed with liberal scientist Neil deGrasse Tyson over his refusal to say that men have a physical advantage over women in sports, insisting he’s “part of the problem.”
The exchange began when Maher put a spotlight on the ousting of Scientific American’s editor-in-chief over her viral attacks on Trump voters.
However, Maher thought the magazine’s real “scandal” was a piece it published last year claiming “Inequity between male and female athletes is a result not of inherent biological differences between the sexes but of biases in how they are treated in sports.”

“Bill, every 20 minutes on your platform, you come up with another reason why the Democrats lost,” Tyson said.
“That’s not true. First of all, you don’t watch this show, so you don’t know,” Maher fired back. “I know you don’t and it’s okay, but you talk as if you do and you f—in’ don’t. And that’s okay, just don’t bulls— me. That’s the one thing people can’t ever do on this show is bulls— me.”

Later on during the panel discussion, Maher remained dumbfounded at Tyson’s refusal to budge on the subject.
“I can’t get a scientist to say that Scientific American, the magazine, as so many institutions, have been ideologically captured by this very, very far-left wing to the point where they’re denying stuff that is just obvious to the naked eye,” Maher said.
“He wouldn’t actually address the substance!” journalist Andrew Sullivan reacted. “And people aren’t stupid. They see them making these [statements], and they see Democrats refusing- and liberals refusing to disown them. Why? What is Neil afraid of? I know what he’s afraid of. He’s afraid of some massive social media mob coming out and calling him- he’s a sexist bigot and all the rest of it. We have to get over that!”
“It’s insane,” Maher agreed. “And people see that and they go ‘Well then I can’t trust you on anything else.’ I mean, look at that ad that Kamala Harris– that Trump ran against her about the transgender in prison thing, like, ‘We’re gonna pay for prisoners to get a transgender operations’ that affects like three people in the world. But she wouldn’t say ‘That was dumb. I just wouldn’t do that anymore.’ And people go, ‘Well, then I just can’t trust you on anything else.'”

Maher’s spat with Tyson continued during his online “Overtime” segment after the scientist took a swipe at the host suggesting he didn’t believe “science matters” while discussing vaccines.
“Actually, you’re the guy who doesn’t understand why the [WNBA] team can’t beat the Lakers, so I don’t know, you’re supposed to be the scientist and you couldn’t even admit that!” Maher shouted. “This is not your field, you’re not a doctor.”
“I’m a scientist! Excuse me,” an offended Tyson reacted.
“That’s not a doctor! When I have a goiter on Uranus, I’ll call you,” Maher added.
Blue state already cracking down on illegal migrant shelters before next president sworn in
Deep blue New York will shutter 12 migrant shelters before the end of the year, just weeks before President-elect Donald Trump takes office.
Two hotels-turned-migrant shelters in the city have already closed – the Hotel Merit in Manhattan and the Quality Inn JFK in Queens – while 10 other shelter facilities across the state are earmarked for closure by Dec. 31, New York City Mayor Eric Adams’ office told Fox News Digital.
The 10 shelters are located in Albany, Dutchess, Erie, Orange and Westchester counties and had been put into operation by the city when it ran out of space, such was the sheer scale of the crisis.

Additionally, New York City’s sprawling migrant shelter on Randall’s Island, which was designed to house up to 3,000 people, is slated to shut down by February, a couple of weeks after Trump’s inauguration to a second term on Jan. 20, 2025.
The closures come as Adams revealed Monday that the city has catered to more than 223,000 migrants and asylum seekers who have arrived in New York City since the spring of 2022, which he said equated to about half the population of the state capital of Albany.
City taxpayers were footing a $352 nightly bill per migrant with just $130 of that going to the hotels for housing. The rest went to costs like social services, food and cleaning, according to the New York Post.
There are currently 58,000 migrants still staying in taxpayer-funded shelters, the mayor’s office told Fox News Digital. There are around 210 city-run shelter sites scattered across the five boroughs, according to the Post. The city’s website states that the crisis could cost taxpayers around $12 billion over the next three fiscal years without policy changes.
The city said the declining numbers of migrants arriving in New York is the reason for the closures and thanked the federal government and executive orders issued by the Biden-Harris administration for the reduction.
In September, there were 101,790 encounters at the border, the lowest number since February 2021, and there have been no major signs of a significant increase in numbers since then. The Post reported that in the week ending Nov. 10, more than 600 new asylum seekers arrived in Gotham.
“Our staff is on hand to help guests plan for next steps as the city consolidates its operations,” a city hall spokesperson told Fox News Digital.
“Over the past two years, our teams have accomplished the Herculean task of providing compassionate care for a population twice the size of Albany and saving taxpayers billions of dollars,” Adams said in a statement.
“We’ve focused on helping people take their next steps out of shelter and that focus is paying off. And with our census declining for the past 19 weeks in a row, it’s clear that our efforts are working. The new policies we’re implementing today will build on our successes, save taxpayers millions, and help even more migrants take their next steps towards fulfilling their American Dream.”

Adams also revealed that migrant families who were issued their second 60-day eviction notice can stay in the same shelter they were previously assigned to if they still need more time in the system.
He touted the move as saving “taxpayers millions of dollars,” making it easier for those children to continue attending their same public schools and saving the city hundreds of thousands spent on busing those students to those schools.
However, the easing of the eviction rule for families was not enough for a group of about 50 left-wing activists who stormed City Hall on Wednesday during a hearing on the shelter rule for adults, which permanently evicts migrant adults from city shelters after 30 days.
“Immigrants are welcome here – Trumpian policy is not!” members of the Jews For Racial & Economic Justice chanted from the mezzanine while unfurling three banners reading: “Mayor Adams: end shelter evictions,” “Let all New Yorkers stay” and “Housing justice now.”
The group was removed from the chamber after about two minutes. The group said in a statement that the eviction rule is a “cruel and destabilizing policy” and is a direct violation of the city’s controversial decades-old right to shelter rule. The rule was initially put in place on the premise of sheltering the homeless.
While the flow of migrants has slowed in recent months, some experts have raised concerns that migrants may make a last-ditch effort to cross the border before Trump clamps down on illegal crossings.

For instance, around 1,500 migrants have formed a caravan in southern Mexico, just over the border from Guatemala, and hope to cross before Trump takes office.
Trump has promised to seal the southern border and carry out the largest deportation operation in the history of the U.S. He has appointed hardliner South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem to serve as secretary of the Department of Homeland Security, while Tom Homan will be the new “border czar.”
Additionally, he has also pledged to end the use of parole programs by the Biden administration that allow migrants to enter in via the expanded “lawful pathways” and to shut down the Biden administration’s CBP One app, which allows migrants to apply for asylum appointments while in Mexico.
Golf star heaps praise on ‘brilliant’ Trump — and wishes he was leader of her country
Not even pro women’s golf tournaments are safe from the Trump dance.
Amid a phenomenon of American athletes using the dance to celebrate big moments during games since Trump’s election win, English women’s golf star Charley Hull brought the moves to The Annika, a premier event in the sport, this past week.
On Thursday, Hull addressed the dance and her feelings about the president-elect, calling him “brilliant” and a “legend.”
“I love Trump. I think he’s brilliant,” Hull said at the CME Group Tour Championship at Tiburon. “I like how he just says things, he doesn’t care what people think, and he’s straight to the point.”

Hull went so far as to say that she would prefer it if Trump led her home country, the United Kingdom, instead of its current Prime Minister Keir Starmer.
“I wish he was head of the U.K.,” she added. “I just like him as a person. He’s a little better than our Prime Minister.”
Starmer assumed office this past July after the country’s Labour Party won the majority in parliament. The Labour Party’s victory ended 14 years of the Conservative Party’s governance and was won with the smallest share of the electoral vote of any majority government since record-keeping of the popular vote began in 1830.

Hull previously expressed interest in the Women’s Open Championship returning to Trump Turnberry in Scotland in the future.
“I thought it was a great golf course, great fun,” she said while preparing for the Scottish Open, via The Telegraph. “I love being out there, and the views are brilliant.
“Like honestly, it’s one of the best golf courses in the world. It would be a shame to not be on there.”
Other pro golfers have voiced support for Trump, including Bryson Dechambeau and Dustin Johnson, who was at the president’s election victory party and played a round with him on his course in Florida.

The Trump dance as a means of celebration has been a particularly controversial talking point in the NFL in recent weeks. Newsom’s family pays more than $9,000,000 for ‘architecturally stunning’ home
The family of California Gov. Gavin Newsom acquired a multi-million-dollar home in a Marin County purchase early in November.
Local media outlets such as the San Francisco Standard and San Francisco Chronicle reported the purchase of the 5,600-square foot Kentfield home occurred Nov. 14.
The luxury home was acquired via a limited liability company owned by Newsom’s wife, Jennifer Siebel Newsom, a source told FOX Business.
Its sale price came in at $9.1 million, a listing for the property showed.

Kentfield is a community within Marin County, the county north of San Francisco. Just over 6,800 people called the town their home as of 2020, according to the U.S. Census Bureau.

The $9.1 million home’s roughly 5,600 square feet are spread across three floors.
There are six bedrooms and 5 ½ bathrooms within the “architecturally stunning” home, the listing said.
The house was designed with an open floor plan and boasts a chef’s kitchen. Many of its windows stretch from floor to ceiling, enabling plenty of light to shine in, photos indicated.

In the Sacramento area, the Newsoms also have a place where they reside, the source told FOX Business. A majority of the time, Newsom works from the capital city, the source added.

Before he was Trump Cabinet nominee, Scott Turner played eight years in NFL
President-elect Trump’s pick to lead the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development played eight years in the NFL and on one of the worst teams in league history.
Scott Turner, a seventh-round pick out of Illinois, played for a 2000 Chargers team that went 1-15. It’s recognized as one of the worst teams in NFL history, and Turner shared a locker room with infamous NFL bust Ryan Leaf. The other quarterback on that team was current Chargers head coach Jim Harbaugh, who went winless in five games as a starter with 10 interceptions.
But it was one of Turner’s best individual seasons as a pro. The former defensive back had a career-high two starts and his only interception for a touchdown that year. He also blocked a punt in his team’s first meeting against the Denver Broncos in October of that year.
Turner’s touchdown, a 75-yard pick six against the Broncos in their second meeting Nov. 19, 2000, came in the final two minutes of the first half to put San Diego up 24-7.
