Judge issues ruling on California law aimed at forcing ICE agents to remove masks

A Los Angeles‑based federal judge on Monday blocked California from enforcing its law that would require ICE agents to remove masks during immigration enforcement operations.

Judge Christina Snyder, appointed during the Clinton administration, argued that the “No Secret Police Act” and “No Vigilantes Act” discriminated against the federal government by violating the Supremacy Clause.

Under the U.S. Constitution’s Supremacy Clause, federal law takes precedence over any conflicting state or local law, rendering the lower-level law unenforceable.

United States skier Lindsey Vonn provided a lengthy update after her crash during the alpine ski women’s downhill at the 2026 Milan Cortina Olympics resulted in a leg fracture on Sunday.

Vonn, 41, was already skiing with a torn ACL, but she needed to be airlifted off the mountain in a scary scene. She posted on her Instagram on Monday, saying her “Olympic dream did not finish the way I dreamt it would.”

“It wasn’t a storybook ending or a fairy (tale), it was just life,” her detailed caption read. I dared to dream and had worked so hard to achieve it. Because in Downhill ski racing the difference between a strategic line and a catastrophic injury can be as small as 5 inches.”

“I was simply 5 inches too tight on my line when my right arm hooked inside of the gate, twisting me and resulted in my crash. My ACL and past injuries had nothing to do with my crash whatsoever.”

Officials at an Italian hospital where Vonn was brought to quickly after the crash said she underwent surgery to “stabilize a fracture reported in her left leg.”

Vonn revealed she suffered a “complex tibia fracture that is currently stable but will require multiple surgeries to fix properly.”

LINDSEY VONN UNDERGOES SURGERY FOR LEG FRACTURE AFTER HARD CRASH DURING OLYMPIC RUN

Before the Games began, many wondered how Vonn would ski on her ruptured ACL, but she was determined to attempt to medal in her signature event. Her runs on Friday and Saturday went fine, but she lost control a few seconds into her Sunday run, and things got very serious afterward.

However, Vonn, 41, doesn’t have any regrets.

“While yesterday did not end the way I had hoped, and despite the intense physical pain it caused, I have no regrets. Standing in the starting gate yesterday was an incredible feeling that I will never forget,” her caption continued. “Knowing I stood there having a chance to win was a victory in and of itself. I also knew that racing was a risk. It always was and always will be an incredibly dangerous sport.

“And similar to ski racing, we take risks in life. We dream. We love. We jump. And sometimes we fall. Sometimes our hearts are broken. Sometimes we don’t achieve the dreams we know we could have. But that is the also the beauty of life; we can try.

“I tried. I dreamt. I jumped.”

To conclude, Vonn believes that her “journey” can provide some inspiration to those in all areas of life.

“I hope if you take away anything from my journey it’s that you all have the courage to dare greatly. Life is too short not to take chances on yourself. Because the only failure in life is not trying,” she wrote.

“I believe in you, just as you believed in me.”

As competitors and fans alike were relieved to hear Vonn was in stable condition, fellow American Breezy Johnson secured the gold medal in the vent, marking the United States’ first victory at the Milan Cortina Games.

“I don’t claim to know what she’s going through, but I do know what it is to be here, to be fighting for the Olympics, and to have this course burn you and to watch those dreams die,” said Johnson, who missed out on the 2022 Games due to a knee injury. “I can’t imagine the pain that she’s going through and it’s not the physical pain — we can deal with physical pain — but the emotional pain is something else.”

International Ski and Snowboard Federation president Johan Eliasch called Vonn’s crash “tragic, but it’s ski racing.”

“I can only say thank you for what she has done for our sport,” he said, “because this race has been the talk of the games and it’s put our sport in the best possible light.”

The Los Angeles Fire Department previously confirmed to Fox News Digital that first responders were dispatched to O’Hara’s Brentwood home at approximately 5 a.m. on Jan. 30. She was transported to a local hospital, where she was listed in serious condition. The beloved actress was pronounced dead several hours later.

Over 20 years before her death, O’Hara had discovered she had dextrocardia situs inversus — a rare medical condition during a routine doctor visit.

“He calls us into his office and says, ‘You’re the first one I’ve met!'” O’Hara recalled during an episode of “Virtual Happy Hour” with Kathryn Hall in 2020. “I don’t even know the name, because I don’t want to know the name. Something cardio-inversus. And then dextrocardia and something-inversus.”

“People are going to think I’m so ignorant not to know this, but I kind of don’t want to know. Because I didn’t know before that.”

O’Hara’s career spanned decades, defining moments in Hollywood comedy — from her scene-stealing performance as the exasperated yet endearing mother in the blockbuster “Home Alone” films to her unforgettable turn as the eccentric Moira Rose in “Schitt’s Creek.”

SEE IT: Ghislaine Maxwell pleads the Fifth during Epstein deposition

The House Oversight Committee’s deposition of Ghislaine Maxwell ended less than an hour after it began on Monday morning, when the convicted accomplice of the late Jeffrey Epstein pleaded the Fifth Amendment.

Maxwell appeared before lawmakers virtually for a closed-door interview in the House bipartisan probe into the federal government’s handling of Epstein’s case.

Her attorney apparently told lawmakers, however, that she could not implicate neither President Donald Trump nor former President Bill Clinton in any wrongdoing.

“[B]oth President Trump and President Clinton are innocent of any wrongdoing. Ms. Maxwell alone can explain why, and the public is entitled to that explanation,” lawyer David Oscar Markus posted on X after the deposition.

NEW GHISLAINE MAXWELL MUGSHOT INCLUDED IN DOJ’S LATEST EPSTEIN FILES RELEASE

Markus also told lawmakers that she would only answer questions if her prison sentence was cut short by Trump, according to the statement.

“If this Committee and the American public truly want to hear the unfiltered truth about what happened, there is a straightforward path. Ms. Maxwell is prepared to speak fully and honestly if granted clemency by President Trump.   Only she can provide the complete account. Some may not like what they hear, but the truth matters,” his statement said.

Maxwell is currently serving out a 20-year sentence at a Texas prison.

“As expected, Ghislaine Maxwell took the fifth and refused to answer any questions. This is obviously very disappointing,” House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer, R-Ky., told reporters after the deposition. “We had many questions to ask about the crime she and Epstein committed, as well as questions about potential co-conspirators. We sincerely want to get to the truth for the American people and justice for the survivors.”

Comer said Maxwell’s lawyer told the committee that she would only answer questions if she was granted clemency by President Donald Trump.

Maxwell did say through her attorney, however, that neither Trump nor

Democrats on the panel, who spoke after Comer, accused Maxwell of trying to lobby for a pardon and demanded that Trump publicly rule out the possibility.

“What we did get was another episode in her long-running campaign for clemency from President Trump, and President Trump could end that today,” said Rep. James Walkinshaw, D-Va. “He could rule out clemency for Ghislaine Maxwell, the monster. The question for all of us today is why hasn’t he done that?”

DEMOCRATS SAY CLINTONS’ AGREEMENT TO TESTIFY UNDERCUTS SUBPOENA PUSH, WON’T BRING NEW EPSTEIN ANSWERS

The former British socialite was found guilty in December 2021 of being an accomplice in Epstein’s scheme to sexually traffic and exploit female minors.

The DOJ said at the time of her sentencing that Maxwell “enticed and groomed minor girls to be abused in multiple ways.”

Comer announced lawmakers would hear from Maxwell late last month during a meeting on holding former President Bill Clinton and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton in contempt of Congress for refusing to appear for his Epstein probe.

“We’ve been trying to get her in for a deposition. Our lawyers have been saying that she’s going to plead the Fifth, but we have nailed down a date, Feb. 9, where Ghislaine Maxwell will be deposed by this committee,” Comer said at the time.

Contempt proceedings against the Clintons stalled, however, after they agreed via their attorneys to appear in person on Capitol Hill just days before the full House of Representatives was expected to vote on referring the pair to the Department of Justice (DOJ) for criminal charges.

Comer’s team had been in a back-and-forth with Maxwell’s attorney for months trying to nail down a date for her to speak to committee lawyers.

He agreed to delay her previous planned deposition in August after her lawyer asked him to wait until after the Supreme Court decided whether it would hear her appeal. The Supreme Court turned down Maxwell’s case in October.

She and the Clintons’ depositions are part of the House Oversight Committee’s months-long probe into how the government handled Epstein’s case.

Comer told reporters on Monday that five more depositions would happen in the coming weeks including former Victoria’s Secret CEO Les Wexner on Feb. 18, Hillary Clinton on Feb. 26, Bill Clinton on Feb. 27, Epstein accountant Richard Khan on March 11, and Epstein attorney Darren Indyke on March 19.

American skier walks back ‘mixed emotions’ comment after Trump calls him ‘real loser’

American skier Hunter Hess appeared to backtrack on the “mixed emotions” he said he had about representing the U.S. at the 2026 Winter Olympics in Italy.

Hess drew backlash from President Donald Trump and others when he made his initial comments to reporters last week. But after a few days, Hess made clear what it means to wear the red, white and blue on one of the biggest stages in sports.

“I love my country,” he wrote with an American flag emoji. “There is so much that is great about America, but there are always things that could be better.

“One of the many things that makes this country so amazing is that we have the right and the freedom to point that out. The best part of the Olympics is that it brings people together, and when so many of us are divided we need that more than ever. I cannot wait to represent Team USA next week when I compete.”

Hess’ comments came as the Trump administration faced backlash over the use of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in enforcement operations. An incident with ICE agents in January left Renee Good dead in Minnesota. Border Patrol agents also had a deadly encounter with Alex Pretti.

Those incidents were apparently used as the catalyst for the comments from Hess and his teammate Chris Lillis. Hess said he had “mixed emotions” about representing the U.S.

“It brings up mixed emotions to represent the U.S. right now, I think. It’s a little hard. There’s obviously a lot going on that I’m not the biggest fan of, and I think a lot of people aren’t,” Hess said.

“I think, for me, it’s more I’m representing my friends and family back home, the people that represented it before me, all the things that I believe are good about the U.S. If it aligns with my moral values, I feel like I’m representing it. Just because I’m wearing the flag doesn’t mean I represent everything that’s going on in the U.S.

“I just kind of want to do it for my friends and my family and the people that support me getting here.”

King Charles breaks silence on brother’s alleged document leaks to Jeffrey Epstein

King Charles broke his silence Monday on his brother’s affiliation with Jeffrey Epstein.

After the Thames Valley Police confirmed to Fox News Digital that an investigation was underway into claims Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor shared confidential information pertaining to his trade envoy role with Epstein, the monarch expressed “profound concern” for the latest allegations.

“The King has made clear, in words and through unprecedented actions, his profound concern at allegations which continue to come to light in respect of Mr. Mountbatten-Windsor’s conduct,” the palace said in a statement to People magazine.

“While the specific claims in question are for Mr. Mountbatten-Windsor to address, if we are approached by Thames Valley Police, we stand ready to support them as you would expect.”

Police scrutiny surrounding former Prince Andrew’s conduct as a U.K. trade envoy raised fresh questions about whether royal status blurred the lines between public duty and private interest.

PRINCE WILLIAM, PRINCESS CATHERINE ‘DEEPLY CONCERNED’ BY EPSTEIN FILES REVELATIONS, PALACE SAYS

Authorities are assessing the claim that Andrew may have shared confidential documents while special envoy, the Thames Valley Police confirmed to Fox News Digital.

“We can confirm receipt of this report and are assessing the information in line with our established procedures,” a spokesperson told Fox News Digital.

KING CHARLES REPORTEDLY JEERED OVER PRINCE ANDREW’S JEFFREY EPSTEIN TIES DURING OFFICIAL ESSEX VISIT

After a trove of files related to investigations into Jeffrey Epstein were released, it seems ex-Prince Andrew knowingly shared confidential information with the financier between 2010 and 2011, according to the BBC.

Emails included in the files show Andrew sent details of his official trade envoy trips in Singapore, Vietnam, Shenzhen in China and Hong Kong to Epstein in 2010. Andrew forwarded reports sent by his then-assistant to Epstein after the trip five minutes after receiving them, the outlet reported.

The circumstances could leave an opening for legal scrutiny, according to a royal expert.

“The anti-monarchy group Republic may potentially have a case if there was delivery of confidential business information evaluated by Andrew to Epstein’s aide just 5 minutes after the former Prince received them himself,” royal expert Ian Pelham Turner told Fox News Digital.

“New allegations are swirling around in Royal circles that Andrew had many offshore businesses and accounts making him in reality a very wealthy man. Pitch@thePalace Global Ltd. was one of the interests where Andrew was the major beneficiary and that there were many more offshore companies which could give him rewards.”

“The well-oiled Royal clean machine image they are wishing to portray is coming apart at the seams and cause more headaches following from the Duchy scandal attached to Charles and William, which had a £50 million fortune.”

Prince William and Kate Middleton are “deeply concerned” by recent revelations in the Jeffrey Epstein files, according to a statement released by Kensington Palace.

A spokesperson for the royal couple told the BBC: “I can confirm The Prince and Princess have been deeply concerned by the continuing revelations.”

“Their thoughts remain focused on the victims,” the spokesperson added.

The cost of this American staple is nearing record highs — but shoppers haven’t cut back

Beef is at record high prices and Americans are buying more of it than ever.

In 2025, shoppers spent more than $45 billion on beef, buying more than 6.2 billion pounds, according to data from Beef Research, a contractor for the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association. That’s enough to give everyone on the planet three hamburgers.

Compared to the year prior, spending rose about 12%, while the amount of beef sold climbed more than 4%. In short, consumers aren’t just paying higher prices; they’re buying more beef, too.

That demand is also reflected in the meat case, where beef accounts for more than half of all fresh meat dollars, far outpacing other protein options like chicken, pork and seafood.

According to U.S. Department of Agriculture data, the average price of beef in grocery stores climbed from about $8.40 per pound in March to $10.10 per pound by December 2025, a roughly 20% increase.

Economists say that deep-rooted demand is helping drive prices higher and there’s little sign it will ease anytime soon.

Glynn Tonsor, a professor of agricultural economics at Kansas State University, told Fox News Digital that strong consumer demand continues to push beef prices upward.

“There’s nothing that forces me or you or anybody else when we go into the grocery store to pay more for beef. People are choosing to,” he said. “The consumer desire for beef is strong and, regardless of the supply-side situation, that has the effect of pulling prices up.”

IN TEXAS CATTLE COUNTRY, ONE RANCHER WELCOMES TRUMP’S FOCUS ON DECADES OF THIN MARGINS

But even with strong consumer appetite keeping the market buoyant, ranchers are facing challenges on the other end of the supply chain.

Years of drought, high feed costs and an aging ranching population have thinned herds across the country, leaving the U.S. cattle supply at its lowest level in more than 70 years.

Derrell Peel, a professor of agricultural economics at Oklahoma State University, said the current supply crunch won’t be fixed overnight.

“The fact of the matter is there’s really nothing anybody can do to change this very quickly,” Peel said. “We’re in a tight supply situation that took several years to develop, and it’ll take several years to get out of it.”

Meanwhile, the Trump administration says it is working to ease beef prices by temporarily increasing imports from Argentina, while also laying out longer-term plans to bolster the U.S. cattle industry.

One day after Kid Rock’s Rock The Country festival canceled a scheduled stop in Anderson, South Carolina—after several artists withdrew citing concerns over political division—the event’s organizers are pushing back.

“Rock The Country was created to unite people together through music,” a representative for the festival told Fox News Digital in a statement. “Our lineups and our crowds reflect that sentiment — a wide range of voices, backgrounds, and stories that make up this country. We’re truly disappointed we won’t be bringing the show to Anderson. Our fans work hard for their money, and we refuse to put on a show that doesn’t meet the standard they deserve.”

“Our focus remains where it’s always been: Supporting our artists, honoring our fans, and delivering unforgettable nights throughout the country. The shows ahead represent the heart of what Rock the Country stands for: music, community, and pride in where we come from.”

“Our band’s purpose is to unite, not divide. With that in mind, we have made the decision that we will not be playing the Rock the Country festival,” the statement read.

WATCH: Amazon delivery drone goes up in smoke after crashing into apartment

An Amazon Prime Air delivery drone crashed into a Texas apartment building last week, with the incident caught on a bystander’s video.

The drone crash occurred in the Dallas suburb of Richardson, Texas, on Feb. 4 when a Prime Air MK30 drone collided with the side of the apartment building and crashed to the ground.

FOX 4 KDFW reported that Cessy Johnson was working from home and heard the drone flying nearby, so she began to record it on her phone, as she hadn’t seen one in use before.

When the drone moved outside of her view, she told the outlet that she began to hear noises that didn’t seem right and then saw falling debris before the drone itself crashed outside the building.
