Shia LaBeouf was arrested Tuesday in New Orleans and charged with two counts of simple battery, Fox News Digital confirmed.

Authorities responded to a simple battery on the 1400 block of Royal Street at approximately 12:45 a.m. where two male victims reported being assaulted, according to the New Orleans Police Department (NOPD).

LaBeouf, 39, was reportedly “causing a disturbance and becoming increasing aggressive at a Royal Street business.” When a staff member attempted to eject the actor from the establishment, LaBeouf allegedly used “his closed fists on the victim several times,” police said.

“The victims reported that LaBeouf left, but then came back, acting even more aggressive.”

Multiple people allegedly attempted to hold LaBeouf down outside the business in Faubourg Marigny, and he was eventually let up in hopes that he would leave.

The “Transformers” actor reportedly struck the same victim again with “closed fists to the victim’s upper body” before allegedly assaulting another person by punching them in the nose.

“LaBeouf was again held down until police arrived,” police said. “He was taken to a hospital for treatment of unknown injuries. Upon release, he was arrested and charged with two counts of simple battery.”

In video captured by TMZ, LaBeouf was seen shirtless outside of the business before being transported to a local hospital by emergency medical services.

No further information was immediately made available.

LaBeouf’s representatives did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital’s request for comment.

The “Salvable” star was previously arrested and charged with one count of misdemeanor battery and one count of misdemeanor theft from a theft and battery incident that took place in June 2020.

LaBeouf narrowly avoided jail time and was ordered to attend private therapy to work on his anger management at least once a week, continue monitoring his alcohol by wearing a Soberlink device and undergo random alcohol testing.

During a 2022 interview with Word on Fire Catholic Ministries’ Bishop Robert Barron, LaBeouf discussed the incredible transformation he saw within himself as he delved into researching the late mystic St. Padre Pio, whom the actor portrayed in “Padre Pio.”

At the time, LaBeouf claimed he was more than 600 days sober and was converting to Catholicism after a public fallout following a lawsuit filed by his ex-girlfriend, FKA Twigs where she accused him of sexual battery, assault and the infliction of emotional distress.

“I had been abusive to women, and had been shooting dogs and willingly been giving women STD’s,” he told the Bishop. “It’s disgusting. It’s depraved. My mother is embarrassed beyond imagination.”

Twigs, a British singer whose full name is Tahliah Debrett Barnett, met Shia while working on their 2018 film “Honey Boy,” and they dated for eight months before ending things in 2019.

In her lawsuit, she accused LaBeouf of “knowingly” giving her a sexually transmitted disease, and described the abuse throughout their relationship as “relentless.” She also alleged he would “squeeze or grab her to the point of bruising.”

Twigs also claimed LaBeouf kept a loaded gun by the bed and that she was not allowed to wear clothes in bed. She also said he would deprive her of sleep.

He denied many of the allegations at the time, and stated he was working toward betterment as he had not yet been cured of his “PTSD and alcoholism.”

In July 2025, Twigs settled the lawsuit against LaBeouf.

Whoopi Goldberg addresses appearance in Epstein documents during ‘The View’

“The View” co-host Whoopi Goldberg addressed her name coming up in the Jeffrey Epstein files during the show on Tuesday, shutting down any link to the late convicted child sex offender.

“In the name of transparency,” Goldberg began as she asked for the email to appear on the screen. “My name is in the files.”

Goldberg’s name is mentioned in an email from 2013, where someone says that she needs a plane to Monaco and that “John Lennon’s charity is paying for it.” Goldberg said that it should have said Julian Lennon’s charity and explained that the email went on to ask Epstein if he would offer his private plane. The document released by the Justice Department showed Epstein responding with “no thnaks [sic].”

Co-host Joy Behar said Goldberg’s point in addressing the message was that “anybody can be on this list.”

TRUMP THANKED FLORIDA POLICE FOR EPSTEIN PROBE IN 2000S, FLAGGED ‘EVIL’ GHISLAINE MAXWELL: FBI DOC

“Well, this is my point! Because I’m telling you, when I tell you people are trying to turn me into, I wasn’t his girlfriend. I wasn’t his friend,” Goldberg said, as Behar quipped she was “too old” for him. “I was not only too old, but it was at a time, you know, where this is just not – you used to have facts before you said stuff!”

When Behar then brought up President Donald Trump being in the files, Goldberg said she was speaking about herself.

“I’m speaking about me because I’m getting dragged,” she said. “People actually believe that I was with him, it’s like, ‘Honey, come on.’ Every man that I’ve ever been with, you’ve known about because either the Enquirer wrote about it, people wrote about this stuff. So no, I never had this, and no, I didn’t get on the plane because you know what I would have to do to get on the plane?”

Her co-hosts then said, “fly,” as Goldberg acknowledged that she doesn’t fly.

“So they’re trying to get me to get on a plane to get to this thing for Julian Lennon,” she continued.

COMER ACCUSES OVERSIGHT DEMS OF ‘CHERRY-PICKING’ EPSTEIN ISLAND FILES: ‘CHASING HEADLINES’

The co-hosts have discussed the files at length both before and after the DOJ began releasing the documents.

Attorney General Pam Bondi announced in a letter on Saturday that “all” Epstein files have been released consistent with Section 3 of the Epstein Files Transparency Act.

The letter includes a list of more than 300 high-profile names, including Trump, Barack and Michelle Obama, Prince Harry, Bill Gates, Woody Allen, Mark Zuckerberg and Bruce Springsteen.

In accordance with the Epstein Files Transparency Act, passed by Congress and signed into law by Trump in November, the list of names includes “all persons where (1) they are or were a government official or politically exposed person and (2) their name appears in the files released under the Act at least once,” the letter said, adding that the names appear in a “wide variety of contexts.”

Federal judge slams Trump administration, orders Abrego Garcia release

A federal judge on Tuesday blocked the Trump administration from re-arresting Salvadoran migrant Kilmar Abrego Garcia into federal immigration custody — an update that comes just days before he is slated to appear in Nashville for a key court date in a separate criminal case.

U.S. District Judge Paula Xinis agreed to convert her previous emergency order blocking ICE from immediately re-detaining Abrego Garcia into a longer-term form of injunctive relief sought by his lawyers.

She said Tuesday that the Trump administration failed to provide the court with any “good reason to believe” that they plan to remove him to a third country in the “reasonably foreseeable future.” Instead, she said, they “made one empty threat after another to remove him to countries in Africa with no real chance of success.”

The order clears the way for Abrego Garcia to participate in a key hearing in Nashville next week on whether a separate federal judge should dismiss his criminal case on the grounds of “vindictive” and selective prosecution. Abrego Garcia was accused in court records of repeated domestic violence against his wife, who alleged multiple incidents of physical abuse in protective order filings. She later withdrew the protective order request and has defended her husband publicly. The Department of Homeland Security has also said he was living in the U.S. illegally and has alleged ties to MS-13, disputing portrayals of him as simply a “Maryland man.” His attorneys have denied the gang allegations.

ABREGO GARCIA REMAINS IN US FOR NOW AS JUDGE TAKES CASE UNDER ADVISEMENT

Xinis also said the government has “done nothing” to show the court that Abrego Garcia’s continued detention in ICE custody is “consistent with due process.”

“Respondents have done nothing to show that Abrego Garcia’s continued detention in ICE custody is consistent with due process,” Xinis said Tuesday.

She ticked through a list of the Trump administration’s efforts to remove Abrego Garcia to a list of four African nations it had identified as so-called “third countries” of removal in the months between August, when Abrego was re-detained by ICE, and December, when Xinis ultimately ordered his release.

The Justice Department and Department of Homeland Security did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital’s request for comment.

Senior DHS and Justice Department officials previously suggested they would appeal Xinis’ orders. Trump officials have been sharply critical of Xinis and other federal judges presiding over deportation cages, whom they have repeatedly accused of overstepping their authority as a district judge.

“This order lacks any valid legal basis, and we will continue to fight this tooth and nail in the courts,” DHS Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin said in response to the court’s earlier emergency order.

Xinis said Tuesday that the administration “refused to procure Abrego Garcia’s immediate removal to Costa Rica,” the location he had identified as his preferred third country of removal, in favor of what she said was attempted “phantom removals” by the government to send Abrego to “three (maybe four) African countries.”

“Indeed, since Abrego Garcia secured his release from criminal custody in August 2025, respondents have made one empty threat after another to remove him to countries in Africa with no real chance of success,” Xinis said.

ABREGO GARCIA LAWYERS ASK US JUDGE TO ORDER RETURN TO MARYLAND AMID ONGOING CRIMINAL CASE

The Trump administration previously tried and failed to remove Abrego Garcia to the African countries of Liberia, Eswatini, Uganda and briefly, Ghana.

Xinis noted in late November that the government could not take any of those steps without the final notice of removal order, which she reiterated Tuesday in the memo order that the government had not obtained.

“Thus, he must remain on the stringent release conditions already imposed by ICE and in the Tennessee Criminal Matter,” Xinis said.

US JUDGE VOWS TO RULE ‘SOON’ ON ABREGO GARCIA’S FATE AFTER MARATHON HEARING

Abrego Garcia’s status has been at the center of a legal and political maelstrom since March, when he was deported to his home country of El Salvador, in violation of a 2019 court order and in what Trump officials acknowledge was an “administrative error.” Xinis ordered then that Abrego Garcia be “immediately” returned to the U.S.

He was eventually returned to the U.S. in June, where he was taken into federal custody in Nashville and detained on human smuggling charges stemming from a 2022 traffic stop.

The Justice Department later told Xinis it had opened the criminal investigation and presented it to a grand jury at the same time that Abrego Garcia was detained in a Salvadoran prison, and at the same time as government lawyers were telling the court that the U.S. was powerless to order his return.

Next week’s hearing in Nashville will be centered on a motion to dismiss Abrego Garcia’s criminal case for “vindictive” and selective prosecution.

The judge overseeing that case, U.S. District Judge Waverly Crenshaw, had ruled in October that Abrego Garcia had established a “reasonable likelihood” that the criminal case against him was the result of vindictive prosecution by the Justice Department.

Crenshaw had ordered the Trump administration to produce for the court internal documents and government witnesses to testify about its decision to bring the case.

Emerging fungal STD spreads throughout state as experts issue warning

Minnesota health officials are warning of an outbreak of a contagious fungal skin infection.

The condition is triggered by Trichophyton mentagrophytes genotype VII (TMVII), the same fungal species that causes ringworm.

The primary symptom is round, red, irritated rashes that spread across the body, which can be itchy and painful, according to the state’s health alert.

HOMELESS ENCAMPMENT AT CENTER OF HEALTH ALERT OVER RAT-BORNE DISEASE

“TMVII is a specific type of fungus that is part of a larger family that causes the usually benign but irksome conditions such as ringworm, jock itch and athlete’s foot,” Dr. Hayden Andrews, an infectious disease expert at UT Southwestern Medical Center, told Fox News Digital.

“The symptoms are similar to that of the usual cases of ringworm or jock itch and depend on the part of the body that became infected,” he went on. “These usually manifest as round, itchy spots that may have a rough appearance and could be mistaken as eczema.”

The first case of TMVII in Minnesota was confirmed in July 2025, according to the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH). Since then, an additional 13 cases have been confirmed and another 27 are suspected in the area.

TOXIC WILD MUSHROOMS LINKED TO 3 DEATHS AS STATE OFFICIALS ISSUE URGENT WARNING

The first U.S. case was identified in New York in 2024. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has confirmed cases in multiple U.S. cities.

“In response to several individuals seeking care and providing information on other individuals that may also have been infected, MDH established an enhanced surveillance system to identify cases in Minnesota,” MDH said in a statement.

“This suggests it is spreading in networks and thus can cause outbreaks.”

TMVII spreads through direct skin-to-skin contact with the fungus, including sexual activity, according to the alert.

Fungal spores can also spread via contaminated objects and surfaces, such as sharing towels at the gym or walking around barefoot in communal bathing facilities.

Todd Wills, MD, professor of internal medicine at the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine, noted that TMVII is the only identified fungal sexually transmitted disease

“The populations currently at greatest risk are men who have sex with men and commercial sex workers; however, the infection can be spread from any infected individual,” he told Fox News Digital.

Those with a history of sexually transmitted infections are also at higher risk.

“Diagnosis is often made based on the appearance of the rash and its lack of responsiveness to typical over-the-counter antifungal medications,” Wills said. “A confirmed diagnosis may require a sample of the rash via skin scraping, although treatment is often initiated before results of these tests are available.”

The Minnesota outbreak is unique not in the type of infection, but in the way it is spread, according to Andrews.

“The cases in Minnesota, and previously in New York in 2024, were spread by sexual contact and genetically found to be TMVII. This suggests it is spreading in networks and thus can cause outbreaks,” he said.

The lesions can be more widespread and serious in people who are immunocompromised, Andrews noted. If left treated, some rashes may lead to scarring or worsening infections.

“While routine cases of ringworm or athlete’s foot typically resolve with antifungal creams in a few days, we are finding that TMVII often requires antifungal pills, sometimes for several weeks for complete resolution,” the doctor said. “Fortunately, our current antifungal medications appear to work against TMVII.”

To help decrease the spread, the doctors agreed that people with symptoms should avoid close, skin-to-skin contact and refrain from sharing personal items, like towels and linens.

“Similarly, all linens and towels in the household should be thoroughly washed on high heat and bathing areas sanitized,” Andrews added.

Anyone with symptoms should seek immediate medical care, health officials advised. Minnesota healthcare providers are urged to report any suspected cases for lab testing.

Third church leader indicted in forced labor scheme that netted millions, DOJ says

A federal grand jury in Michigan indicted a third defendant in an alleged forced labor conspiracy tied to the Kingdom of God Global Church, the Justice Department announced.

Kathleen Klein, said to also be known as “Prophetess,” allegedly served as a leader and executive of the church — formerly known as Joshua Media Ministries International — and helping run a multi-state call center operation that prosecutors say exploited workers to solicit donations.

The Justice Department said Klein, 53, and co-defendants David Taylor and Michelle Brannon allegedly operated call centers in Michigan, Missouri, Florida and Texas, where victims were forced to work long hours without pay and pressured to meet aggressive fundraising targets.

Prosecutors said workers who fell short or resisted were subjected to public humiliation, sleep deprivation, physical abuse, withholding of food and shelter, forced repentance rituals and threats of “divine judgment in the form of sickness, accidents, death, and eternal damnation.”

The superseding indictment, issued Feb. 11, alleges that the organization collected roughly $50 million in donations since 2014, which leaders used to fund personal real estate purchases, vehicles, airline tickets and luxury goods.

In addition to adding Klein as a defendant, the superseding indictment includes new allegations that Taylor frequently requested and received sexually explicit photos and videos from female church workers.

Klein is charged with conspiracy to commit forced labor, which carries a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison.

Taylor and Brannon were first indicted in July 2025 on charges including conspiracy to commit forced labor, forced labor and conspiracy to commit money laundering. If convicted, they face up to 20 years in prison on each count.

Mike Trout gives $35M reason why he will not play for Team USA in World Baseball Classic

The Los Angeles Angels are set to pay Mike Trout over $35 million this year, but that, combined with his injury history, has proven to be a major hurdle for the World Baseball Classic.

The three-time MVP, who was given the “Captain America” nickname for his stellar performance in the event three years ago, told reporters Monday that he was not able to get his contract insured for the tournament.

Trout said he wanted to play again, but “insurance was the biggest hurdle I was trying to get through.”

“It’s disappointing, I wanted to run it back with all the guys,” Trout said.

According to Yahoo Sports, a player does not necessarily forfeit his contract if he is injured in the event. Rather, it would be the team being owed the insurance coverage via National Financial Partners, which the WBC organization uses to take out insurance policies on the contracts of all 40-man-roster players competing in the event.

Trout has a base salary of $35.45 million for 2026 and is making an additional $1.67 million from the $20 million signing bonus he agreed to as part of his $426.5 million contract.

For example, the New York Mets were given a full reimbursement of Edwin Diaz’s $18.64 million salary in 2023 after he tore his patella tendon celebrating a win.

Trout was part of perhaps the best moment in the tournament’s history, when he and former Angels teammate Shohei Ohtani of Team Japan went face-to-face with two outs in the top of the ninth of a 3-2 championship game. Ohtani struck out Trout in a lengthy at-bat to give Japan the title.

However, Trout has struggled immensely to stay on the field in recent years.

AARON JUDGE ADMITS EARLY FRUSTRATION IN TEAM’S OFFSEASON: ‘WE’RE THE NEW YORK YANKEES’

Since 2021, Trout has played no more than 130 games, a number he reached last season for the first time since 2019 (the 2020 season was only 60 games). His injuries moved him to right field last year, but this season, he is aiming to return to center.

Trout has not played in more than 140 games since 2016. He played in 36, 82 and 29 games in 2021, 2023 and 2024, respectively.

Finally able to stay healthy, Trout did not look like his usual self, hitting .232 with a .797 OPS — the lowest mark of his career since his brief call-up in 2011, when he did not even qualify as a rookie.

Trout is signed through the 2030 season after inking the 12-year pact ahead of the 2019 season. At the time, it was the richest contract in the history of the sport, but has since been surpassed by Ohtani, Juan Soto and Vladimir Guerrero Jr.
