Viral video shows anti-ICE school walkout teens invading Kroger, hurling objects

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!

A Wednesday video of students wreaking havoc in a Cincinnati Kroger after walking out of school for a purported anti-ICE demonstration has gone viral.

In the video, taken by McAdrian Martin, who was shopping at the time of the incident, students can be seen running through aisles and throwing objects at the store’s ceiling, which Martin said were beer cans and other adult beverages that had been ripped from the shelves.

A security guard can be seen and heard yelling at the students to get out of the store.

“It said, ‘F ICE,'” a female patron said to Martin in the video, apparently referring to a sign held by one of the protesters. “They just came over here and went to the beer section and threw our beers.”

FEDERAL AGENT ATTACKED AND HOSPITALIZED DURING ANTI-ICE PROTEST IN DOWNTOWN LA

The students walked out of schools in the North College Hill School City School District to protest ICE, part of an ongoing national trend that left-wing activists claim is student-driven.

The school condemned the behavior in a Facebook post, even linking to the now-viral video.

“This video is disturbing and the parents and families of these students should be embarrassed,” the post said, adding that the school would be working with the North College Hill Police Department to “identify these students so they can be held accountable for their disorderly behavior.”

Craig Chaney, the department’s interim police chief, also posted a statement on Facebook.

IT’S NOT STUDENTS ORGANIZING ICE WALKOUTS — HERE’S WHO’S REALLY BEHIND THE NATIONWIDE PROTESTS

“First and foremost, we recognize that peaceful expression is a constitutional right,” the statement began. “Our department respects the rights of students and community members to assemble and express their views lawfully and peacefully. During the high school protest, officers were present to ensure the safety of students, staff, and the public. Our primary role was to maintain order, prevent traffic hazards, and ensure that no one was placed at risk.”

While the department said a majority of the students protested in an orderly fashion, they moved in to quell the chaos when it arose.

“When actions moved beyond peaceful expression and began affecting public safety and private property rights, officers intervened to restore order,” the statement said.

RHODE ISLAND ACTIVIST SLAMS ADULT-RUN NONPROFIT THAT PROMOTED ‘STUDENT-LED’ ANTI-ICE SCHOOL WALKOUT

In a candid interview with Fox News Digital, Martin shared his strong opinions on the delinquent youths.

“What about it was a group of students, North College Hills students, was protesting ICE, but they came in the store, they was being loud and obnoxious, they was damaging property, and they was interfering with the customers,” he said.

He said the ceiling of the store was damaged during the chaos, and that one man was even hit in the head with a projectile. Martin noted that while the injury was not serious enough to call paramedics, the man was “highly upset.”

“I do think that whoever is responsible for the chaos ought to be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the court,” said Martin. “It’s not safe for the environment, it’s not safe for the customers, it’s not safe for people. So, whoever was responsible and whoever did come to the store should be held liable by the law.”

North College Hill School City School District did not return a request for comment.

Man who crashed into Nevada substation found dead in car with arsenal: sheriff

A heavily armed 23-year-old man who told his family he wanted to commit an act that would put him “on the news,” allegedly drove across the country and crashed a car into a Nevada power facility Thursday — an incident authorities are calling a potential act of terrorism.

Dawson Maloney, 23, of Albany, New York, was found dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound wearing soft body armor and holding a shotgun, Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Sheriff Kevin McMahill said during a news conference Friday.

Officials said Maloney, who was recently reported missing out of New York, intentionally crashed a rental car through a secure gate protecting a Los Angeles Department of Water and Power facility near Boulder City at about 10 a.m. local time Thursday.

The power facility, owned by the city of Los Angeles, works closely with Hoover Dam, officials said. Power generated at the plant is transferred to the Hoover Dam basin.

PA MAN CHARGED WITH ATTEMPTING TO MAKE WEAPONS OF MASS DESTRUCTION AFTER NEIGHBOR TIP

Video showed the car, which had New York license plates, speeding toward the gate, breaking the perimeter fence.

Maloney’s car was stopped by large, industrial wire reels, seemingly leading to his subsequent suicide, according to McMahill. He added that there is no ongoing threat to the public.

Officials said he spoke to his family prior to the attack and made multiple references to self harm and committing an act that would place him “on the news.”

In a message to his mother, Maloney referred to himself as a “dead terrorist son” and said he felt he “had an obligation to carry out his act,” according to McMahill.

MARYLAND MAN ACCUSED OF TARGETING TRUMP CABINET OFFICIAL RUSSELL VOUGHT IN MURDER PLOT

Two shotguns, an AR-style pistol, numerous loaded AR magazines, a box of shotgun shells, two flamethrowers containing thermite material, a crowbar and hatchet were found inside the car, leading the incident to be treated as a “terrorism related event,” according to McMahill.

Multiple books were found in Maloney’s hotel room related to extremist ideologies, including right- and left-wing extremism, environmental extremism, white supremacy and anti-government ideology.

Authorities also recovered explosive materials and components to include thermite, ammonium nitrate, magnesium ribbon, metal pipes, and gasoline.

FBI PITTSBURGH RAMMING SUSPECT QUOTED LINCOLN ASSASSIN DURING CONFESSION, SPECIAL AGENT SAYS

A cellphone found in the car is being forensically analyzed, according to McMahill.

FBI Las Vegas and FBI Albany are assisting with the investigation, and carried out two search warrants in New York.

Electronics were pulled from one Albany home, and “several gun components” needed to assemble a gun, along with a 3D printer, were recovered from another house in Albany.

Based on the information uncovered, FBI agents believe Maloney rented a car on Feb. 12 in Albany, and left the area two days later.

Boulder City Police Chief Tim Shea said there is no major damage to critical infrastructure at the power plant and there are no known service interruptions.

“We also recognize the gravity of an armed individual intentionally reaching the power facility while in possession of incendiary components. Our responsibility is to identify threats early, act decisively and protect critical infrastructure,” Shea said. “There is no continuing threat to the community.”

Nightly bathroom habit was missed sign of common men’s cancer: ‘I didn’t know’

A father was diagnosed with prostate cancer after chalking his nightly bathroom trips up to drinking too much fluid before bed, as reported by SWNS.

“I would wake up in the middle of the night and go to the loo a couple of times, but I never thought too much of it,” Ed Matthews, who lives in London, told the news outlet.

Matthews wrote off the early warning signs — until he received a shocking diagnosis in April 2025.

WANT TO STAY HEALTHY AFTER 40? DOCTORS SAY MEN SHOULD CONSIDER 14 MEDICAL TESTS

The avid golfer and skier said he felt “fit and healthy” when he went in for a routine health check provided by his employer last April.

There, he underwent a prostate-specific antigen test, which showed a reading of 4.2. (Traditionally, a PSA level under 4.0 ng/mL is considered “normal.”)

While the number was slightly higher than normal, doctors considered it “nothing too alarming.” They did, however, refer Matthews to a urologist as a precaution.

PROSTATE CANCER PATIENTS SEE LONGER SURVIVAL WITH NEW COMBINATION DRUG

When an MRI scan produced inconclusive results, Matthews underwent a biopsy. Less than three weeks after he went for the original check-up, he was diagnosed with prostate cancer.

“From being a fit human being all your life, your world’s turned upside down,” he told SWNS, adding that it felt as though he’d been thrown into a “world of pain.”

“It was an emotional shock … No one ever wants to be told they’ve got cancer.”

CANCER SURVIVAL RATES REACH RECORD HIGH, BUT DEADLIEST TYPES STILL PUT AMERICANS AT RISK

Matthews underwent robotic surgery to remove his prostate last July, and tests since then haven’t shown any traces of cancer.

“I never had any issues with blood, but it was about a year or 18 months of going to the toilet more frequently,” he said.

“Your world’s turned upside down.”

Matthews said he “didn’t really know” what the prostate was before receiving his diagnosis.

The prostate is a small, firm, partly muscular gland that helps make up the male reproductive system, according to Cleveland Clinic’s website.

For every 100 American males, 13 will develop prostate cancer at some point in their lives, the above source stated. Approximately 35,770 people in the U.S. die from the disease each year.

Matthews is now planning to run the London Marathon for Prostate Cancer UK to raise awareness.

“I was very open and honest and told people what happened, and I think that’s caused a lot of people, friends, connections to go off and get tested,” he told SWNS.

Early-stage prostate cancer rarely causes symptoms. However, as the disease progresses, changes include a frequent, sometimes urgent, need to urinate, especially at night. Other signs include weak urine flow, flow that starts and stops, and blood when using the restroom, per Cleveland Clinic.

Eric Dane’s heartbreaking final words to his daughters revealed before ALS death

In Eric Dane’s final interview before his death, the actor looked back at his life and career.

During the interview with Brad Falchuck for “Famous Last Words” on Netflix, which was filmed in November 2025 and released on Friday, Dane spoke about his illness and what he has learned from it, and what he hopes to pass on to his two daughters, Billie, 16, and Georgia, 14.

In the final moments of the episode, Dane turned his attention to his daughters, saying, “Billie and Georgia, these words are for you.”

“I tried. I stumbled sometimes, but I tried. Overall, we had a blast, didn’t we?” he said before getting choked up while recounting all the moments they shared together. “I see you now playing in the ocean for hours, my water babies. Those days, pun intended, were heaven. I want to tell you four things I’ve learned from this disease, and I hope you don’t just listen to me. I hope you’ll hear me.”

STARS WE’VE LOST IN 2026

His first piece of advice was for his daughters to always live in the moment, saying he spent so much time “wallowing and worrying in self-pity, shame and doubt.”  Through his disease, he explained he was “forced to stay in the present,” encouraging his daughters to do the same, adding “The present is all you have. Treasure it. Cherish every moment.”

He also encouraged his daughters to find love in their lives, whether it be with a person or a passion, noting that his was acting.

“That love eventually got me through my darkest hours, my darkest days, my darkest year. I still love my work, I still look forward to it, I still want to get in front of a camera and play my part. My work doesn’t define me, but it excites me,” he said.

His third piece of advice was to “Find your people and allow them to find you.”

” I can’t do little things I used to do. I can’t drive around, go to the gym, get coffee, or hang out. But I’ve learned to embrace alternatives,” he said. “My friends come to me, we eat together, watch a game, listen to music. They don’t do anything special; they just show up. That’s a big one. Just show up. And love your friends with everything you have. Hang onto them. They will entertain you, guide you, help you, support you and some will save you.”

Lastly, he hoped to show his daughters that they could get through anything, saying, “This disease is slowly taking my body, but it will never take my spirit.”

“So when something unexpected hits you, and it will because that’s life, fight and face it with honesty, integrity and grace, even if it feels or seems insurmountable,” he said. “I hope I’ve demonstrated that you can face anything. You can face the end of your days. You can face hell with dignity. Fight, girls, and hold your heads high. Billie and Georgia, you are my heart. You are my everything. Good night. I love you. Those are my last words.”

“Billie and Georgia, you are my heart. You are my everything. Good night. I love you. Those are my last words.”

— Eric Dane

Aside from his words to his daughters, Dane also touched on his past traumas, including the death of his father when he was seven and his own struggles with addiction.

When asked how he thinks his daughters would describe their dad, Dane first joked by saying they would remember him as “a reactive person,” saying they would remember him reacting to things such as traffic. He then said, “I think they would say that I was pretty tough [and] resilient,” and above all, they would remember him as “a good dad.”

“I do believe that when we go to sleep, or however it is we go, once we’re gone, we’re gone. And we live on in the memories of the people that will miss us.”

Best known for his role as Dr. Mark Sloan — “McSteamy” — on “Grey’s Anatomy,” Dane’s death Thursday marked the end of a chapter for fans and friends who saw not just a television heartthrob, but a devoted father, husband and advocate.

His family confirmed the news to Fox News Digital.

“With heavy hearts, we share that Eric Dane passed on Thursday afternoon following a courageous battle with ALS,” the statement began.

It continued, “He spent his final days surrounded by dear friends, his devoted wife, and his two beautiful daughters, Billie and Georgia, who were the center of his world. Throughout his journey with ALS, Eric became a passionate advocate for awareness and research, determined to make a difference for others facing the same fight. He will be deeply missed, and lovingly remembered always. Eric adored his fans and is forever grateful for the outpouring of love and support he’s received. The family has asked for privacy as they navigate this impossible time.”

Many of his former co-stars took to social media to share their tributes to Dane, including Sydney Sweeney, who acted alongside him in “Euphoria.”

She posted a video of the actor on her Instagram stories, writing “forever will love you.”

For Dane’s former co-star, Patrick Dempsey — who played Dr. Derek Shepherd on the medical drama — the loss felt deeply personal.

Appearing on “The Chris Evans Breakfast Show” on Friday, Feb. 20, Dempsey paid tribute to his longtime friend.

“I feel really so sad for his children,” said Dempsey. “I was corresponding with him, we were texting, so I spoke to him about a week ago and some friends of ours went in to see him, and he was really starting to lose his ability to speak.”

In his final days, Dane’s health had declined rapidly, he recalled.

‘GREY’S ANATOMY’ ACTOR STEVEN W. BAILEY BREAKS SILENCE ON RARE NEUROMUSCULAR DISORDER DIAGNOSIS

“He was bedridden, and it was very hard for him to swallow, so the quality of his life was deteriorating so rapidly,” he shared. “He was the funniest man — he was such a joy to work with, and I want to just remember him in that spirit because any time he was on set, he brought so much fun to it.”

“He had a great sense of humor. He was easy to work with, we got along instantly,” Dempsey added. “First scene was him, you know, in all his glory, coming out of the bathroom with the towel on looking amazing, making you feel completely out of shape and insignificant.”

Despite their characters’ on-screen rivalries, Dempsey explained that there was “never really any competition” between them as they “hit it off” immediately.

“There was just this wonderful mutual respect,” said Dempsey. “He’s wickedly intelligent, and I’m always going to remember those moments of fun that we had together and celebrate the joy that he did bring to people’s lives and the real loss is for us who don’t have him anymore.”

Speaking of Dane’s medical condition, Dempsey added, “He did an incredible job at bringing awareness to this horrible disease and those remaining days … it just reminds us that we all have to celebrate every day like it’s our last day.”

REBECCA GAYHEART STEPS UP AS CAREGIVER FOR ESTRANGED HUSBAND ERIC DANE AS ALS DEMANDS 24-HOUR CARE

Other “Grey’s Anatomy” alumni echoed that grief.

Kevin McKidd reposted a photo shared by Variety of Dane on the “Grey’s Anatomy” set, writing over the image on his Instagram Stories, “Rest in peace buddy..,”

Sarah Drew shared the same photo, adding, “Rest in peace” with three crying emojis.

Kim Raver honored her longtime co-star by sharing a nostalgic snapshot of the two suited up in their scrubs. She followed it with a more intimate image — smiling alongside Dane and his wife, Rebecca Gayheart — offering fans a glimpse of the off-camera bond they shared beyond the hospital set.

ERIC DANE WAS HOSPITALIZED AFTER ALS-RELATED FALL FORCED EMMY AWARDS ABSENCE

“Eric was a light. You’d see it effortlessly shine from him on the set of Grey’s as well as when he was with Rebecca and the girls,” she wrote in her Instagram caption. “During filming, he’d get this twinkle in his eye and with a mischievous look, he would deliver with perfect comedic timing, a line of dialogue that would floor you! You will be missed 🤍.”

Raver concluded, “My love and thoughts go out to Rebecca and their girls. We love you.”

Shonda Rhimes, the powerhouse creator behind “Grey’s Anatomy,” also paid tribute to Dane in a statement shared with Fox News Digital on behalf of her production company.

“Eric Dane was a beloved member of the ‘Shondaland’ and ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ families. He was truly a gifted actor whose portrayal of Dr. Mark Sloan left an indelible mark on the series and on audiences around the world,” the statement read.

“We are grateful for the artistry, spirit, friendship and humanity he shared with us for so many years. Our hearts are with his family, loved ones, and all who were touched by his work.”

Former showrunner Krista Vernoff reflected on Dane’s brief return to “Grey’s Anatomy” during Season 17 in 2021, when his character appeared in Meredith Grey’s dream as she battled COVID-19.

“I called Eric and he answered immediately,” Vernoff said of his appearance.

“The thing I will remember most about Eric Dane are his hugs. The best hugs. Oh my friend. I wish you peace,” she wrote.

ERIC DANE’S WIFE REBECCA GAYHEART SAYS ‘MY GIRLS ARE REALLY SUFFERING’ AS FAMILY FACES ACTOR’S ALS BATTLE

Beyond “Grey’s Anatomy,” Dane captivated a new generation of viewers as Cal Jacobs on HBO’s “Euphoria.”

In a statement, series creator Sam Levinson told Fox News Digital, “I’m heartbroken by the loss of our dear friend Eric. Working with him was an honor. Being his friend was a gift. Eric’s family is in our prayers. May his memory be for a blessing.”

An HBO spokesperson added, “We are deeply saddened by the news of Eric Dane’s passing. He was incredibly talented and HBO was fortunate to have worked with him on three seasons of ‘Euphoria.’ Our thoughts are with his loved ones during this difficult time.”

John Stamos, who starred alongside Dane in the television film “Wedding Wars,” shared a heartfelt message on Instagram with photos of the two friends.

“RIP, Buddy. Me and @realericdane played brothers years ago in a beautiful movie called, Wedding Wars. Good guy. Too soon. Xo J”

Actress Selma Blair, a longtime friend who has also publicly battled multiple sclerosis (MS), a chronic neurological autoimmune disease, kept her tribute simple and deeply personal: “I love you. And yours.”

She shared a video of the two acting together on “Zoe, Duncan, Jack & Jane” in 2000.

Alyssa Milano, who worked with Dane on “Charmed,” shared fond memories with the actor.

“I can’t stop seeing that spark in Eric’s eye right before he’d say something that would either make you spit out your drink or rethink your entire perspective. He had a razor-sharp sense of humor. He loved the absurdity of things. He loved catching people off guard… And when it came to his daughters and Rebecca, everything in him softened… My heart is with the people who were lucky enough to be his home.”

Friend Ashton Kutcher reflected on their shared fantasy football league and Dane’s fight against ALS.

“The Franklin strip fanatics fantasy football league will miss Mr. Eric Dane. We know you’ll be watching from the booth. Miss you, buddy. Let’s keep fighting the fight to solve ALS,” he wrote on X.

Maria Shriver, who is publishing Dane’s upcoming memoir, remembered his courage after his diagnosis on social media.

“I’m heartbroken by this devastating news about Eric Dane. What a tragedy. He was so heroic the way he handled his diagnosis. He used his voice to let the world know what it was like living with ALS… He told me he wanted his family to know how much he loved them, and he wanted to leave them a story they could be proud of… Godspeed, Eric. It was an honor to know you, and we will honor your story.”

Actress Nina Dobrev, who appeared with Dane in “Redeeming Love,” emphasized both his professionalism and compassion.

“Heartbroken to hear about the passing of Eric,” she wrote on her Instagram Story with broken heart and dove emojis.

“He was warm, generous, prepared, and so passionate about what he did. He led with kindness and made everyone on our set feel seen. ALS is a cruel and unforgiving disease. May his memory inspire more research, awareness, and progress toward a cure. He will be deeply missed. Sending love and heartfelt condolences to his family.”

Nick Goepper risked it all on his final Olympic run.

The 35-year-old American skier was in the bronze medal spot when he began his last run in the men’s halfpipe freestyle skiing competition Friday in Milan with a chance at the gold medal, but it ended in a crushing blow on his final trick.

Goepper landed everything successfully until his fifth and final jump, when he didn’t get enough height on his leap and landed hard on the halfpipe ledge.

He lay on the snow for several minutes, and for as hard as he crashed, everyone held their collective breath as he was tended to by medical staff, who seemed ready to pull him away on a stretcher.

However, Goepper stood up on his own two feet, gave a thumbs-up and a smile, and walked off under his own power.

Unfortunately, insult was added to injury as Canada’s Brendan MacKay bested Goepper’s score to push him off the podium and take the bronze.

The husband of an Ohio teacher who was shot and killed inside her home has been charged with murder, according to court records.

Caleb Flynn, 39, has been charged with murder in relation to the death of Ashley Flynn, his wife. Ashley, who was a mother, teacher and volleyball coach, was shot and killed in her Tipp City, Ohio, home early on Monday morning. According to WHIO, dispatch logs indicated someone inside the house called 911 and reported that Ashley was shot in the head.

Caleb Flynn has been charged with murder, two counts of felonious assault with a deadly weapon and two counts of tampering with evidence. He was booked into the Miami County Jail at 5:07 p.m. on Thursday, according to inmate records. He was arraigned on Friday morning and pleaded not guilty. His bond was set at $2 million. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for February 26 at 1:00 p.m.

Officials alleged in court documents filed early Friday morning that “Caleb Flynn murdered his wife [redacted] in the morning hours of February 16, 2026.” Caleb Flynn allegedly shot his wife with a 9mm handgun and staged the crime scene, causing officers to be “lead estray,” the documents state.

Caleb Flynn told a 911 dispatcher that someone broke into his house and killed his wife, according to audio obtained by Fox News Digital.

“Oh my god, somebody broke into my home, somebody broke into my home and shot my wife,” Caleb Flynn said. “My wife, she’s got two shots to her head, there’s blood everywhere. Oh my god, oh my god, oh my God.”

CHRISTIAN MOM, TEACHER SHOT IN OHIO HOME AS NEWLY RELEASED 911 LOG SHEDS LIGHT ON FRANTIC RESPONSE: REPORT

When asked if Ashley Flynn was breathing, Caleb responded, “No, I don’t think so.”

“Ashley, Ashley, baby, baby please, oh my god, there’s no – she’s not!” Caleb said.

Caleb Flynn claimed that the door “leading to the garage door” was “wide open” at the time.

In a statement to Fox News Digital, Caleb Flynn’s attorney, L. Patrick Mulligan, said prosecutors rushed to accuse his client of murder.

“Caleb Flynn entered a plea of Not Guilty this morning and looks forward to defending this case. We are both disappointed and concerned about the short timeline and seeming rush to judgment in this case,” Mulligan said. “When the government runs out of leads or can’t develop leads and looks at a surviving spouse in cases such as these, the chance of a wrongful conviction increases.”

The individual who called 911 told dispatchers that the kids were asleep in their rooms at the home, according to News Center 7.

“Someone broke into the RP [reporting person’s] house, unknown if they are still there. Garage door is open,” the dispatcher said. “There was apparently a female shot in the head. Is not responding currently.”

“Squad is en route; they aren’t staged yet. Are they good to respond in?” the dispatcher asked.

FBI JOINS PROBE IN MURDER OF CHRISTIAN TEACHER SHOT IN OHIO HOME AS ‘AMERICAN IDOL’ HUSBAND, CHILDREN SLEPT

“Yes, one person only,” a first responder replied.

According to the outlet, only Ashley and Caleb Flynn as well as their two children were inside the home during the incident.

“RP and juvenile daughter are locked in a bedroom,” the dispatcher told police, according to the outlet.  “Just a correction — the juveniles are going to be in their own rooms asleep currently.”

In an earlier statement to Fox News Digital, Tipp City Chief Greg Adkins said he believes the incident is isolated.

“We believe that this was an isolated incident targeting this specific residence,” Adkins told Fox News Digital Wednesday. “No information at this time to believe the public is in any danger. The investigation will continue until we can provide all the answers to the family and community.”

The mayor of Oakland, California’s city-owned SUV was stolen this week when City Hall was closed for Presidents Day.

“We know that someone jimmied open the mayor’s office, they stole the keys to her car, they went to the City Hall parking lot, they stole the car. This occurred on Monday,” Sam Singer, a spokesperson for the Oakland Police Officer’s Association, told Fox News Digital on Friday, after Mayor Barbara Lee’s official vehicle was taken. “She reported it, her staff reported it.”

Singer said the SUV was found around 24 hours later.

The Oakland Police Department confirmed on Thursday that a suspect had been arrested.

“This afternoon, the Oakland Police Department (OPD) arrested a suspect in connection with [the] theft of a city-owned vehicle,” the department said on Facebook. “This is an active ongoing investigation. No additional details are being released at this time.”

Singer identified the suspect to Fox News Digital as Logan Tell DeSilva, 29, who was reportedly arrested on suspicion of burglary, auto theft and vandalism after the SUV was found in Vallejo.

The SUV is used to take the mayor to and from official events, FOX 2 reported.

Fox News Digital has reached out to the OPD for comment.

“No one in Oakland should have to worry about their car being stolen, whether they’re a resident, a city worker, or the Mayor,” Lee said in a statement earlier this week. “Public safety is a priority across our entire city.”

The theft comes months after the Oakland Police Officers Association claimed that the city had defunded the police, which Singer reiterated to Fox News Digital on Friday, adding that City hall uses private security and the city spends more than $20 million for private security for all its city properties.

“Crime in Oakland continues to be out of control because there’s not enough police officers and the mayor herself has now become a victim,” Singer told Fox News Digital.

Huy Nguyen, president of the Oakland Police Officer’s Association, told KRON-TV last year, “The operational strength is about 530, so realistically, we’re down 300 police officers plus in our city just to be at a baseline.”

The union added in a statement last year that the city’s new budget will “result in further defunding in the Oakland Police Department and increase the danger of crime for residents and businesses.”

While recent data has shown violent crime trending down in Oakland, the city was named the second most dangerous place to live by U.S. News and World Report for 2025-2026. Memphis, Tennessee, nabbed the top spot.

Lee’s office did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital’s request for comment.
