Senate hearing erupts into Dem vs GOP showdown after 3 words from Bernie Sanders

Independent Sen. Bernie Sanders and Republican Sen. Markwayne Mullin were involved in a heated back and forth during a Senate hearing Tuesday that sparked immediate reactions across social media.

“Everybody we bring up here, you guys chastised for trying to make changes,” Mullin said during a Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions hearing Wednesday. The committee was discussing issues with Obamacare during a hearing on the nomination of Casey Means as U.S. surgeon general.

“God forbid we change and try to fix our broken system,” Mullin continued. “Anyway, I ranted too long.”

As Mullin was attempting to return to the topic, he was cut off by Sanders, who said, “Yes, you did.”

Mullin responded, “I’m sorry. I didn’t ask your opinion on that, and if I cared about your opinion I would ask you. But I don’t care about your opinion. You’re part of the system. You’re part of the problem. You’ve been sitting here longer than I’ve even been alive. This is your problem. You should have fixed this a long time ago. You’ve been railing on it for so long. What have you been doing?”

Sanders responded by sarcastically saying, “I decided not to run for surgeon general, You’re the nominee I’ve decided.”

“That is definitely something we would never accept,” Mullin said before moving on.

The exchange was quickly picked up by conservatives on social media, including from “Charlie Kirk Show” executive producer Andrew Kolvet, who wrote in a post on X that “things did not end well for the octogenarian socialist” after he took a “cheap shot” at Mullin.

“That’s what his commie supporters can’t figure out,” comedian Tim Young posted on X. “Bernie has been in office so long that he should have solved their problems by now.”

BERNIE SANDERS SPENT OVER $550K IN 2025 CAMPAIGN FUNDS ON PRIVATE JETS, FILINGS SHOW

“Finally,” journalist Anna Matson posted on X. “Someone put Bernie Sanders in his place. He’s all talk and no action. He’s been in office longer than I’ve been alive and he has nothing to show for it.”

“Swamp being DRAINED,” political and sports commentator Dan Dakich posted on X.

“HOLY SMOKES,” conservative journalist Eric Daughterty posted on X. “Sen. Markwayne Mullin just PUMMELED Bernie Sanders to his FACE.”

Senate clashes involving Sanders and Mullin have been increasingly common in recent years, including a viral moment in 2023 when Mullin and Teamsters President Sean O’Brien almost came to blows during an exchange Sanders was in the middle of.

In December, the two clashed on the Senate floor, also over Obamacare, in an exchange that Mullin posted on X in which he referred to Sanders as “The Grinch” and said the Vermont senator “blocked our bipartisan bill, the Mikaela Naylon Give Kids a Chance Act, to give kids fighting cancer more treatment options.”

Fox News Digital reached out to the offices of Mullin and Sanders for comment.

New Jersey governor booed relentlessly at Devils game honoring Olympic hero

New Jersey Gov. Mikie Sherrill was booed by fans attending the NJ Devils hockey game at the Prudential Center on Wednesday.

The game marked the NHL return of Team USA Olympic hero Jack Hughes since he scored the winning goal against Canada in the gold medal game on Sunday.

Sherrill was in attendance to welcome Hughes and other Olympic players back to stateside ice, but when she was announced by the PA spokesperson for the ceremonial puck drop, the Newark crowd erupted in relentless boos for her and her husband, Jason Hedberg.

Still, Sherrill went on to make a social media post that included photos of her, Hughes and other players, celebrating the gold medal. Sherrill was mocked in response, as many critics pointed out how loudly she was booed.

“You managed to somehow get booed loudly during the most festive thing at the Rock ever,” one X user wrote.

Another user wrote, “Didn’t everyone boo you?”

Sherrill has been a target of criticism from patriotic Americans dating back to her 2025 campaign, when it was revealed she was kept from participating in her Naval Academy commencement due to disciplinary action involving midshipmen stealing test answers in a particularly challenging electrical engineering course required for all non-engineering majors.

Sherill downplayed her involvement, saying, “I didn’t turn in some of my classmates, so I didn’t walk but graduated and was commissioned as an officer in the U.S. Navy, serving for nearly 10 years with the highest level of distinction and honor.”

Just this week, the Justice Department filed a lawsuit against New Jersey and Sherrill, accusing the state of expanding its sanctuary policies and obstructing federal immigration enforcement through a new executive order.

Still, Sherill’s presence didn’t stop anyone at the Prudential Center from celebrating Hughes and company on Wednesday.

Prior to the puck drop against the Buffalo Sabres, the Devils honored all of their Olympians from 2026, including those who represented foreign nations. No one received a warmer reception from the crowd than Hughes, as fans chanted “U-S-A!”

Hughes nearly broke down in tears while addressing the crowd.

“I’m so proud, and I’m so happy that the men’s and women’s USA hockey teams brought gold medals back to the United States of America,” Hughes said to the crowd. “You guys are making me emotional, but I’m so proud to represent the New Jersey Devils organization. And I’m so, so proud to represent the great state of New Jersey – so proud.

“From the bottom of my heart, all of my teammates, USA teammates, we just want to thank you guys for all the love and support. We feel it.”

Fetterman calls out ‘dancing frogs,’ Democrats’ behavior at State of the Union

Sen. John Fetterman, D-Pa., who appeared to be the only Democrat to shake hands with President Donald Trump at Tuesday’s State of the Union, argued the left’s behavior won’t help its cause.

“I do believe that that’s true,” Fetterman said Wednesday on “America’s Newsroom” of apparently being the lone Democratic handshake.

“I shook his hand, of course. He walked in, and I’m always going to do that, for sure,” he added.

A number of Democrats skipped Trump’s address to Congress, an event marked by several tense exchanges between the president and liberal lawmakers.

Trump criticized Democrats at times, while some Democratic lawmakers shouted back. Democrats also wore anti-ICE and “Release the Files” pins in protest.

On the Democratic side of the aisle, there were several empty seats because lawmakers refused to attend the event. Rep. Al Green, D-Texas, was also ejected from the address for the second year in a row after holding a sign that said “BLACK PEOPLE AREN’T APES!”

Fetterman described his side of the aisle as “disappointing,” adding he found it sad so many of his colleagues didn’t show up.

“I think, show up. You don’t have to clap for everything. You don’t have to agree with anything,” he said.

“It’s the constant kinds of yelling and screaming and holding up signs and for doing all these things. I don’t care if it’s a Republican or Democrat. It’s a president. Just don’t do that. Respect the office.”

Some Democrats instead chose to attend the “State of the Swamp” event, intended as a response to the State of the Union. Actor Robert De Niro attended the event, which featured members of the Portland Frog Brigade dressed in inflatable frog costumes.

Fetterman argued those kinds of events aren’t helping his party with everyday voters.

“I don’t believe, as a Democrat, dancing frogs really moves the ball for us as a party either,” he said.

F-35 instructor ‘Runner’ busted for allegedly teaching Chinese military pilots

A former U.S. Air Force fighter pilot who once trained American servicemembers on advanced combat aircraft, including the F-35, has been arrested and accused of illegally training Chinese military pilots, federal prosecutors said Wednesday.

The Department of Justice (DOJ) said Gerald Eddie Brown Jr., whose call sign is “Runner,” was taken into custody in Jeffersonville, Ind., and charged with providing and conspiring to provide defense services to Chinese military pilots without authorization.

Prosecutors allege Brown violated the Arms Export Control Act, a federal law that regulates the export of U.S. defense articles, services and military technology and requires government approval before they can be shared with foreign governments or nationals.

“The United States Air Force trained Major Brown to be an elite fighter pilot and entrusted him with the defense of our Nation. He now stands charged with training Chinese military pilots,” Assistant Attorney General for National Security John A. Eisenberg said. “When U.S. persons – whether military or civilian – provide training to a foreign military, that activity is illegal unless they have a license from the State Department.”

The DOJ alleges that since “at least in or around August 2023,” Brown “willfully conspired” with foreign nationals and other U.S. persons to provide combat aircraft training to pilots in the Chinese Air Force, known as the People’s Liberation Army Air Force (PLAAF).

Prosecutors say the training required State Department approval under federal export regulations, and Brown did not have a license to provide it to a foreign military.

Brown served more than 24 years in the U.S. Air Force, according to the DOJ, leaving active duty in 1996 with the rank of major.

EX-ARMY SERGEANT SENTENCED FOR TRYING TO GIVE STATE SECRETS TO CHINA AFTER MENTAL HEALTH SPIRAL

During his career, he commanded units responsible for nuclear weapons delivery systems, led combat missions and worked as a fighter pilot and simulator instructor on aircraft including the F-4, F-15, F-16 and A-10. After leaving the military, Brown worked as a commercial cargo pilot and later as a contract simulator instructor training U.S. pilots to fly the A-10 and the F-35 Lightning II.

According to the complaint, Brown began negotiating a contract “in or around” August 2023 to train Chinese military pilots, working through a co-conspirator who dealt with Stephen Su Bin, a Chinese national previously convicted in the U.S. of conspiring to hack into the computer networks of major American defense contractors and steal sensitive military data.

Prosecutors say Brown made clear in those discussions that he intended to train Chinese pilots in combat aircraft operations. In a résumé, he listed his objective as “Instructor Fighter Pilot” and later wrote that, upon arriving in China, “Now…. I have the chance to fly and instruct fighter pilots again!”

MOST SHOCKING EXAMPLES OF CHINESE ESPIONAGE UNCOVERED BY THE US THIS YEAR: ‘JUST THE TIP OF THE ICEBERG’

According to the complaint, Brown traveled to China in December 2023 to begin training Chinese military pilots and remained there until returning to the United States earlier this month.

Prosecutors allege that after arriving in China, Brown spent hours answering questions about the U.S. Air Force and later delivered a presentation about himself to members of the People’s Liberation Army Air Force.

“As an Air Force Officer, Brown took an oath to defend our Nation against all enemies foreign and domestic, he broke that oath, and betrayed the country, jeopardizing the safety of our servicemembers and allies,” U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia Jeanine Ferris Pirro said. “We will hold Brown, and anyone conspiring against our Nation, accountable for their actions.”

Brown’s case follows similar charges against former U.S. Marine Corps pilot Daniel Edmund Duggan, who is accused of providing defense services to Chinese military pilots without authorization and is currently pending extradition to the U.S.

Prosecutors allege Duggan trained Chinese military pilots on aircraft carrier takeoff and landing procedures, skills considered highly sensitive to U.S. national defense. He is currently in Australia.

Brown, if convicted, faces significant federal prison time under export control laws designed to prevent U.S. military expertise from being transferred to foreign adversaries.

FDA upgrades blueberry recall across multiple states to life-threatening

Federal regulators have announced a recall of 55,000 pounds of frozen blueberries over potential Listeria contamination that could pose a life-threatening risk.

Oregon Potato Company — a family-owned business in Salem specializing in frozen and dehydrated potatoes, vegetables, and fruits — has flagged 55,689 pounds of individually quick-frozen blueberries, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration said.

While the notice was made on Feb. 12, regulators on Tuesday upgraded it to a Class 1 recall, with officials warning that exposure to the potential Listeria monocytogenes “could cause serious adverse health consequences or death.”

The product was distributed across several U.S. states, including Michigan, Oregon, Washington and Wisconsin, as well as throughout Canada.

MORE THAN 191,000 AROEVE AIR PURIFIERS RECALLED OVER OVERHEATING, FIRE RISK

The product was not sold directly to consumers in retail stores but instead moved between businesses within the supply chain, the FDA said.

The recall, which was initiated via email, remains ongoing.

The affected items include 30-pound cases with expiration dates from July 23, 2027, to July 24, 2027, bearing lot codes 2055 B2, 2065 B1 and 2065 B3. They are packaged in polyethylene bags within corrugated cases, a specialized dual-layered design.

Regulators stated that 1,400-pound totes were also affected, with lot codes 3305 A1 and 3305 B1, both expiring on Nov. 25, 2027. The product is packaged in polyethylene liners within Gaylord totes, which are heavy-duty, industrial-grade plastic bags placed in large bulk-shipping containers.

L. monocytogenes is generally transmitted where food is harvested and processed in manufacturing or production environments.

Listeria monocytogenesis is a disease-causing bacteria that can cause foodborne illness, leading to symptoms such as fever, diarrhea and vomiting.

House Republicans trek to Clinton compound for closed-door Epstein testimony

Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is set to be deposed by the House Oversight Committee late Thursday morning, as lawmakers continue to investigate the federal government’s handling of Jeffrey Epstein’s case.

The deposition is expected to begin at 11 a.m. ET in Chappaqua, N.Y., Fox News Digital was told. The Clintons have owned a home in the affluent New York City suburb since 1999 and have primarily lived there since former President Bill Clinton left office.

And while closed-door depositions normally just require a committee staff presence in most cases, a source familiar with planning told Fox News Digital that House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer, R-Ky., will be there in person.

At least 10 House Republicans on the committee will also attend, the source said.

Hillary Clinton will be deposed on Thursday, while Bill Clinton’s deposition is scheduled for Friday. Both interviews will be closed to the press, but they will be transcribed and videotaped.

Comer told Fox News Digital on Wednesday that the former first couple’s testimony “is critical to understanding Epstein and [Ghislaine Maxwell’s] sex trafficking network and the ways they sought to curry favor and influence to shield themselves from scrutiny.”

“Their testimony may also inform how Congress can strengthen laws to better combat human trafficking. Our goal for this investigation is straightforward: We seek to deliver transparency and accountability for the American people and survivors,” Comer said.

CLINTONS CAVE: COMER SAYS BILL AND HILLARY TO TESTIFY IN EPSTEIN PROBE

The Clintons’ testimony comes after months of back-and-forth with the committee on the circumstances and conditions of the interviews.

They are two of several people and entities whom Comer subpoenaed for information on Epstein back in August.

Their attorneys initially pushed back on the subpoenas, calling them legally invalid and a violation of the separation of powers, but House Republicans responded by pressing forward with resolutions to hold both Clintons in contempt of Congress.

The lawyers finally agreed to Comer’s terms just days before a full House vote was expected to move forward.

But not all members of the committee are satisfied with how the situation is playing out.

“I don’t know why the heck we didn’t bring them here. If you or I got in trouble, guess what? We’d be here, or we’d be in chains, and they’d be dragging us in. Having them up in Chappaqua to me is an insult to the public,” Rep. Tim Burchett, R-Tenn., told reporters on Wednesday. “I realize they got to cut a deal, but it’s not a deal I would have cut.”

Rep. Robert Garcia, D-Calif., the top Democrat on the committee, told reporters, “We have a good group going up to New York.”

“I think that anyone that has information about Jeffrey Epstein or spent any time with him, I think it’s important to ask questions. I mean, personally, I think one of the things that we’ve been hearing a lot about lately is whether Jeffrey Epstein had any sort of foreign ties, whether there were any sort of…wealth of foreign governments,” Garcia said.

But both sides have largely accused the other of politicizing the probe. Democrats have accused Republicans of trying to create a narrative that persecutes figures on the left while attempting to clear President Donald Trump, and Republicans are arguing that Democrats are using the investigation to purposefully target the sitting commander in chief.

Neither Clinton has been accused of any wrongdoing in relation to Epstein, nor has Trump.

But both Trump and Clinton have appeared numerous times in the Epstein files released so far and are known to have had relationships with the late pedophile before his federal investigations.

Phone ‘blackout’ could expose alleged Guthrie kidnapper like Kohberger

TUCSON, Ariz. — Whoever abducted Nancy Guthrie may have left behind crucial digital evidence — even if they thought they covered their tracks, according to a forensics expert who helped solve the Idaho student murders.

Authorities have released few details about any evidence aside from DNA samples collected so far, but Heather Barnhart, a digital forensics expert with Cellebrite and the SANS Institute, said cell tower data, Wi-Fi logs and other digital breadcrumbs could prove critical.

“The loudest evidence can be the lack of evidence,” she told Fox News Digital.

Barnhart, who analyzed the phone and computer of Bryan Kohberger, told Fox News Digital that criminals often underestimate how difficult it is to truly disappear in a world saturated with connected technology.

With DNA leads pointing to dead ends so far, it may be digital evidence that moves the case forward.

She pointed to the convicted Idaho killer Kohberger as an example.

“Kohberger literally created bookends around the crime by turning off his device,” she said. “So in addition to all the clearing and other things that he prepped for to erase his digital footprint, the fact that right before the murder, his phone was turned off, and then within like 40 minutes or so after it was turned back on, kind of gave us that tunnel to look down here.”

ELITE FBI VIDEO UNIT THAT WORKED KOHBERGER CASE SPOTTED AT NANCY GUTHRIE HOME

Investigators have said little about what kind of digital evidence they’ve recovered so far in the case. The suspect, who may or may not have acted alone, took measures to hide his fingerprints and DNA.

He wore a ski mask, gloves, and long-sleeved clothing and seems to have avoided shedding any traceable genetic material inside Guthrie’s home.

So it may be that, like Kohberger, he and any potential accomplices covered their digital tracks by turning off their phones or placing them in airplane mode.

FOLLOW THE FOX TRUE CRIME TEAM ON X

If that’s the case, investigators can look at behavior patterns in the area and try to find an aberration, Barnhart said. And if they do, that could be the detail that cracks the case.

“If the person prepped, they wouldn’t ping that tower, but if they went ahead of time and scoped it out or planned, they would have,” Barnhart said. “And then you can also look for entry and exit. And then proximity pings, because eventually you’re going to turn your phone back on.”

Even a temporary blackout can stand out, she said, especially in a quiet residential neighborhood in the early morning hours when most devices would typically remain in one place, with their owners asleep.

And if the abductor did bring their phone but put it on airplane mode, some of their movements may still be traceable, she said. She discovered this while working the Kohberger case, when she crossed timezones and her device, on airplane mode the whole time, pinged in a new location.

SEND US A TIP HERE

Investigators may also have examined whether a suspect’s phone “touched” Guthrie’s home Wi-Fi network — even without connecting to it — potentially placing the device at the scene.

And traffic cameras are another tool available to investigators, she said. It remains unclear whether authorities recovered helpful footage from them. There are many visible throughout the county.

Guthrie is the 84-year-old mother of “Today” co-host Savannah Guthrie. She is believed to have been taken from her home against her will around 2:30 a.m. on Feb. 1, according to the Pima County Sheriff’s Department.

Barnhart said that in the Idaho case, phone logs showed the shutdown was user-initiated and the device was fully charged before going dark — details that helped investigators determine it was deliberate.

“With Bryan Kohberger, he disabled cellular, disabled Wi-Fi and turned off his phone,” Barnhart said. “That is extreme measures to not have a digital footprint. So he really took all the steps but still made a mistake… We hope in Nancy Guthrie, that whoever has her made a mistake and that we can uncover that footprint.”

Savannah Guthrie has asked anyone with information on her mother’s suspected abduction to reach the FBI at 1-800-CALL-FBI.

Coyote chases toddler up driveway in heart-stopping surveillance footage

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!

A toddler had a heart-stopping brush with a coyote right outside his Pasadena, California, home on Monday, according to surveillance footage that captured the frightening moment.

In the video, the 3-year-old boy ran out onto the driveway before abruptly freezing in his tracks. He then turned around in panic, fleeing at full speed while letting out a terrified shriek.

Moments later, the coyote appeared on camera, trailing closely behind the boy. As the animal moved through the family’s front yard and past the camera, a much louder scream — appearing to come from an adult — rang out.

According to local outlet KABC-TV, the boy’s mother was right behind him when the harrowing run-in unfolded.

“Sal went out the gate like he always does before me,” Aida Svelto told the outlet, referring to her son. “Then I heard a scream, and Sal came running back. He grabbed onto my legs, then I screamed because I saw a big, giant coyote.”

After the scream, the coyote reappeared on camera, retreating back the way it had come.

Salvo was reportedly left unscathed, despite the close call.

RUNNER FOUGHT OFF MOUNTAIN LION WITH STICK JUST WEEKS BEFORE FATAL ATTACK ON SAME COLORADO TRAIL

Coyotes are not uncommon in the hilly neighborhood of South California, but the mother said she had never experienced one intentionally crossing into her property.

“We have seen them, but they typically just stay on the street,” Svelto told KABC-TV. “I really didn’t feel nervous. Now I’m nervous.”

“This one was bigger and scarier, and I just really didn’t think that he would go after a kid,” she added. “It’s one thing to see them go after a chihuahua or rabbit or whatever, but he’s pretty big, so it was scary.”

Experts say animals are especially active and inquisitive during this time of year, as mating season drives them to search for mates and additional food sources.

While coyotes are native to California and play a valuable role in controlling rodent populations and cleaning up animal carcasses, they are also known to sometimes target small pets and, in rare instances, humans.

Top Apple execs flooded Dems with campaign money as news app faces bias claims

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!

Apple‘s popular news app is facing increased scrutiny over alleged political bias, but the overwhelming left-wing tilt at the top of the company may be a factor.

Of the 25 people listed on Apple’s leadership page, 15 of them made substantial contributions to Democrats in various election cycles, according to a review of FEC filings. Just six Apple executives have any record of contributing to Republicans — though four of them gave far more amounts to Democrats.

Tim Cook, Apple’s CEO, donated $236,100 to the Hillary Victory Fund in 2016 and $2,300 for President Barack Obama‘s 2008 campaign, according to filings. In 2016, Cook made $10,000 donations to nearly 20 Democratic state parties and was a past donor to Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., California Rep. Zoe Lofgren and now-retired Vermont Sen. Patrick Leahy.

Cook, however, also made four-digit campaign contributions to Republicans like former House Speaker Paul Ryan and former Ohio Sen. Rob Portman during the 2016 election cycle. More recently, he reportedly made a $1 million contribution to President Donald Trump‘s 2025 inauguration.

APPLE NEWS BOOSTS LEFT-LEANING NEWS OUTLETS, SHUTS OUT CONSERVATIVE SOURCES: WATCHDOG

Katherine Adams, Apples’ senior vice president and general counsel, donated more than a combined $200,000 to Kamala Harris‘ campaign and victory fund during the 2024 election. She also gave $10,000 to a Biden PAC in 2020 as well as several prominent Democratic lawmakers, including Schumer, Nancy Pelosi, Adam Schiff, Mark Kelly and Raphael Warnock. Adams also gave nearly $2,000 to every state-level Democratic Party in the country.

Deirdre O’Brien, the SVP of Retail + People, and John Ternus, SVP of hardware engineering, both gave thousands to Friends of Schumer in 2021 — O’Brien also donated $250 to John Kerry’s 2004 presidential campaign. Luca Maestri, VP of corporate services, donated $1,000 to the campaign of Rep. Jimmy Panetta, D-Calif., in 2024. Isabel Ge Mahe, whose title is vice president and managing director of Greater China, gave thousands of dollars to Clinton’s 2016 campaign and $500 to Biden in 2020.

Tor Myhren, VP of marketing communications, gave $4,000 to Sen. Tim Kaine, D-Va., in 2018. Kristin Huguet Quayle, VP of worldwide communications, gave more than $5,000 to Clinton’s 2016 campaign. Phil Schiller, who is listed as an “Apple Fellow” who oversees the App Store and Apple Events, donated more than $60,000 to Clinton and Democrats in 2016 and was a Schumer donor in 2015.

Adrian Perica, VP of corporate development, donated more than $8,000 to Harris and $1,700 to the DNC in September 2024, but notably later gave $3,300 to the RNC in October. He also donated to Schumer in 2021 and Clinton in 2016. It also appears he has a recurring $100 donation to Win the Era PAC that was founded by Pete Buttigieg, beginning in July 2025.

Apple’s Board of Directors is similarly filled with Democratic donors. Arthur Levinson, the chairman of Apple’s board, donated to Al Gore’s presidential campaign and the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee during the 2000 election cycle and Joe Lieberman’s 2004 campaign. He later made $1,250 contributions to both the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee (DSCC) and the National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) in 2008.

MARSHA BLACKBURN SENDS LETTERS TO APPLE CEO SEEKING ANSWERS ON NEWS APP’S ALLEGED BIAS

Many of Levinson’s board colleagues far exceeded him regarding political donations. In addition to Cook, who also serves as a board member, Monica Lozano, the former CEO of the College Futures Foundation, donated more than $50,000 to Joe Biden and Democrats during the 2020 cycle, $8,000 to a Hillary Clinton PAC in 2016 and more than $600 to 15-state level Democratic Parties.

Andrea Jung, president and CEO of the 501 nonprofit microfinance group Grameen America, donated $100,000 to the Harris Victory Fund in 2024, $50,000 to the Biden Action Fund in 2020 and over $30,000 to the Obama Victory Fund in 2008. In addition to the hundreds of thousands of dollars she allotted to the DNC and the fundraising arms of House and Senate Democrats, Jung contributed over $1,000 to the Democratic Party in nearly all 50 states and financially backed congressional candidates like New Jersey Sen. Cory Booker, ex-New Jersey Senate candidate Tammy Murphy and former Florida Rep. Donna Shalala.

Ronald Sugar, the former CEO of the Northrop Grumman Corporation, donated thousands of dollars to the campaigns of Schumer, the late California Sen. Dianne Feinstein, Virginia Sen. Mark Warner, former Louisiana Sen. Mary Landrieu, former California Rep. Jane Hartman as well as the late Sen. Lieberman between 2002 and 2008. Sugar notably made a $5,000 to the National Republican Congressional Committee in 2004 and $1,000 to Republican Sen. Pat Roberts. Susan Wagner, BlackRock director and co-founder, made a $2,000 campaign contribution to retired Democratic South Dakota Sen. Tim Johnson in 2012.

Only two members of Apple’s leadership have donated solely to Republicans — but haven’t in at least a decade. Eddy Cue, Apple’s SVP of services who notably oversees Apple News, donated roughly $8,000 to Paul Ryan during the 2016 cycle and board member Alex Gorsky, former Johnson & Johnson chair, gave $1,000 to the late Sen. John McCain’s 2008 campaign and an additional $250 to the RNC at the time.

THE ALLEGED BIAS OF APPLE NEWS: EX-LIBERAL MAG EDITOR TASKED TO HANDPICK STORIES FOR MILLIONS OF IPHONE USERS

It’s not just top leadership that overwhelmingly supports Democrats. More than 95% of political contributions from Apple employees went to Democrats while less than 5% went to Republicans during the 2024 election cycle, according to Open Secrets. Harris racked up nearly $2 million from staffers. Trump collected less than $73,000. Similarly, Apple employees sent the DNC more than $550,000 in contributions last election cycle, while the RNC received less than $10,000.

Apple did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital‘s request for comment.

Earlier this month, a study conducted by the conservative watchdog group The Media Research Center found that Apple News, the popular news aggregator which comes preinstalled on every iPhone in America, overwhelmingly promotes content from liberal outlets.

The study examined the content featured on Apple News throughout January. Of 620 stories shared between Jan. 1 and Jan. 31, 440 originated from outlets rated as left-leaning, while 180 originated from centrist outlets. Zero originated from right-leaning outlets, according to the study.

FTC Chairman Andrew Ferguson sent a letter to Cook expressing concern over the alleged bias and suggested Apple News could be in violation of Section 5 of the FTC Act, which prohibits unfair or deceptive acts or practices.

“The First Amendment protects the speech of Big Tech firms. But the First Amendment has never extended its protection to material misrepresentations made to consumers, nor does it immunize speakers from conduct that Congress has deemed unfair under the FTC Act, even if that conduct involves speech,” Ferguson told Cook.

Sen. Marsha Blackburn, R-Tenn., also sent a letter to Cook seeking answers on how content featured on Apple News is chosen.
