Ex-NFL quarterback must surrender weapon, spend time behind bars after DUI plea
Former NFL quarterback Jay Cutler accepted a plea deal on Tuesday after being arrested for DUI last fall.
Cutler pleaded guilty to one charge of driving under the influence in a Tennessee courtroom, according to WSMV. The deal dismisses a weapon possession charge, though he must forfeit his gun.
Cutler must also spend four days in jail, which he will serve next month, and pay a $350 fine.

He was arrested after allegedly hitting the back of another vehicle last October in Franklin, Tennessee. Officers on the scene said he was slurring his speech, and the ex-NFL quarterback refused to participate in field sobriety tests. A blood sample was later taken at a local hospital under a warrant.
Authorities found a rifle and a loaded pistol in the center console of Cutler’s truck.

He was originally charged with DUI, failure to exercise due care to avoid a collision, implied consent and possession of a handgun while under the influence. Those charges, aside from DUI, were all dismissed under the plea deal.
After serving his four days in jail, Cutler must attend a DUI safety class and will be on unsupervised probation for one year. His driver’s license has also been revoked.
Cutler was the 11th overall pick of the 2006 NFL Draft by the Denver Broncos after starring at Vanderbilt.
He played 37 games for the Broncos from 2006-08 before moving on to the Chicago Bears, where he spent the majority of his 12-year NFL career.
He threw for 23,443 yards and 154 touchdowns over 102 regular-season games with Chicago. The Bears reached the playoffs only once under his leadership, in 2010.

Cutler finished his NFL career with 35,133 passing yards and 160 touchdowns over 153 games, including his final season in 2017 with the Miami Dolphins.
Wyoming sorority wins dismissal in lawsuit involving transgender member
U.S. District Judge Alan B. Johnson once again dismissed former University of Wyoming students’ lawsuit against their sorority for allowing a biological male to join their group, ruling last week that the sorority can define “women” as it chooses.
The former Kappa Kappa Gamma members’ case was dismissed for the second time, this time with prejudice, after Johnson ruled the University of Wyoming chapter did not violate any rules by allowing transgender student Artemis Langford to join in 2022.
In his ruling, Johnson wrote that the organization clearly showed in documents that it “defines women by their gender and not their ‘biological sex.’”
“Nothing in the Bylaws or the Standing Rules requires Kappa to narrowly define the words ‘women’ or ‘woman’ to include only those individuals born with a certain set of reproductive organs, particularly when even the dictionary cited by Plaintiffs offers a more expansive definition,” Johnson wrote.
OUR SORORITY ALLOWED A BIOLOGICAL MALE TO JOIN. WE’RE SUING FOR WOMEN’S RIGHTS
He also dismissed the former students’ citation of the definition of “women” under President Donald Trump’s executive order in January as “adult…human females,” adding that he did not even understand what that description meant.
“We are not entirely sure what this definition means, not having a degree in biology,” Johnson wrote. “But even assuming this definition aligned with Plaintiffs’, it only applies to the Executive Branch’s interpretation of federal laws and administration policy. It is not relevant in the world of private contracts, which is where we currently find ourselves.”
He added that the court is not allowed to interfere with the organization’s decisions unless it has broken its bylaws or committed fraud.
“In short, we are required to leave Kappa alone,” Johnson wrote.
Johnson’s dismissal of the case with prejudice means that the same claims can no longer be brought to his court. However, the plaintiffs can still file an appeal.
Fox News Digital reached out to Kappa Kappa Gamma for comment.
A spokesperson for the University of Wyoming told Fox News Digital that it “has no role in determining sorority membership” and was not involved with the lawsuit.
APPEALS COURT HEARS WYOMING UNIVERSITY STUDENTS’ LAWSUIT AGAINST SORORITY FOR ALLOWING TRANS MEMBER
Johnson had previously rejected the case without prejudice in 2023 after ruling that the University of Wyoming chapter did not violate its bylaws since they did not clearly define the word “woman.”
“The University of Wyoming chapter voted to admit – and, more broadly, a sorority of hundreds of thousands approved – Langford. With its inquiry beginning and ending there, the Court will not define ‘woman’ today. The delegate of a private, voluntary organization interpreted ‘woman’, otherwise undefined in the nonprofit’s bylaws, expansively; this Judge may not invade Kappa Kappa Gamma’s freedom of expressive association and inject the circumscribed definition Plaintiffs urge,” the judge said.

The former students alleged in their original complaint that Langford not only made no effort to look like a woman after joining the sorority but would also “voyeuristically” watch women in intimate situations. The complaint described one scenario in which Langford “had a visible erection” while watching sorority members.
Langford denied the latter alleged incident occurred, according to the Washington Post, which added court records bolstered Langford’s claim because of the testimony of another sorority sister corroborating that account.
Elon Musk one step closer to conquering Mars after successful Starship test flight
SpaceX’s third shot at Starship’s 10th test flight Tuesday succeeded after poor weather conditions forced the company to halt liftoff from its South Texas site Monday.
Starship made it to space, deployed a fleet of mock satellites, survived the fiery re-entry and performed a flip maneuver before making a controlled splashdown in the Indian Ocean.
“Splashdown confirmed! Congratulations to the entire SpaceX team on an exciting tenth flight test of Starship!” SpaceX wrote on X after the successful launch.
“Great work by the SpaceX team!!” Elon Musk wrote on X.
FORMER ASTRONAUT CELEBRATES SPACEX’S ‘IMPRESSIVE TECHNOLOGICAL TOUR DE FORCE’
Tuesday evening’s test was a crucial milestone for Musk’s ambitious plans to use Starship to bring astronauts to the moon and, eventually, conquer Mars.
On Monday, after the test was aborted, SpaceX said on X, “Standing down from today’s flight test attempt due to weather. Starship team is determining the next best available opportunity to fly.”
On Sunday, SpaceX said that the first attempt was scrapped because of ground-system problems.
Starship has faced a series of setbacks in its development phase, including multiple fiery explosions.
Flights 7, 8 and 9 ended in failure after liftoff earlier this year, and another rocket exploded on a test stand in June.
Initially, SpaceX appeared hopeful in the run-up to Monday’s test flight and shared a post on X.
“Counting down to Starship’s tenth flight test. Weather is currently 55% favorable for launch at the start of the window,” the post read.
Despite the failings, SpaceX has pressed on and said each setback is part of the learning curve for the world’s most powerful, 403-foot rocket.

Cracker Barrel ditches new logo after uproar, keeps its beloved ‘Old Timer’
Cracker Barrel said Tuesday that after listening to its customers, it will scrap its new logo and keep the “Old Timer” in place.
“We thank your guests for sharing your voices and love for Cracker Barrel,” the restaurant chain said in a statement to FOX Business. “We said we would listen, and we have. Our new logo is going away and our ‘Old Timer’ will remain. At Cracker Barrel, it’s always been – and always will be – about serving up delicious food, warm welcomes, and the kind of country hospitality that feels like family.”
“As a proud American institution, our 70,000 hardworking employees look forward to welcoming you to our table soon,” the restaurant chain added.
CRACKER BARREL’S CEO DISMISSED WARNINGS FROM A TOP INVESTOR WHO CALLED THE REBRANDING ‘OBVIOUS FOLLY’
Deputy White House Chief of Staff Taylor Budowich said on social media that he appreciated a call earlier in the evening with Cracker Barrel.
“They thanked President Trump for weighing in on the issue of their iconic ‘original’ logo,” he wrote. “They wanted the President to know that they heard him, along with customer response (the ultimate poll), and would be restoring the ‘Old Timer.’ So smart! Congrats Cracker Barrel and America!”
Trump also weighed in on social media after learning about the restaurant’s decision to stick to their old logo.
“Congratulations ‘Cracker Barrel’ on changing your logo back to what it was. All of your fans very much appreciate it,” he wrote. “Good luck into the future. Make lots of money and, most importantly, make your customers happy again!”
Cracker Barrel found itself at odds with its fans after removing “Uncle Herschel” from its logo. The company unveiled its revamped text-only design, sparking backlash and sinking its stock price.
The original 1969 logo was also text-only, but the 1977 addition of the now-iconic imagery became a staple of its branding.
The chain also redesigned the interior of its restaurants, ditching the kitschy American aesthetic and replacing it with a slick modernist motif.

Ticker | Security | Last | Change | Change % |
---|---|---|---|---|
CBRL | CRACKER BARREL OLD COUNTRY STORE INC. | 57.71 | +3.44 | +6.35% |
Cracker Barrel has stood by its recent moves and said 87% of respondents in their “Our values haven’t changed, and the heart and soul of Cracker Barrel haven’t changed,” a spokesperson previously told Fox News Digital research either loved or liked the new logo.
“And Uncle Herschel remains front and center in our restaurants and on our menu. He is the face of ‘The Herschel Way,’ the foundation of how our 70,000-plus employees provide the country hospitality for which we are known,” the spokesperson continued.
“Cracker Barrel has been a destination for comfort and community for more than half a century, and this fifth evolution of the brand’s logo, which works across digital platforms as well as billboards and roadside signs, is a call-back to the original and rooted even more in the iconic barrel shape and word mark that started it all back in 1969.”
CRACKER BARREL LOSES $143 MILLION IN MARKET VALUE AFTER WOKE BRAND FIASCO
Earlier, Trump posted on Truth Social urging the company to restore its old logo, admit it misread customers, and manage the brand “better than ever before.
“They got a Billion Dollars worth of free publicity if they play their cards right. Very tricky to do, but a great opportunity,” the president wrote.
He added, “Have a major News Conference today. Make Cracker Barrel a WINNER again. Remember, in just a short period of time I made the United States of America the “HOTTEST” Country anywhere in the World. One year ago, it was ‘DEAD.’ Good luck!”
CRACKER BARREL ADMITS IT ‘COULD’VE DONE A BETTER JOB’ AFTER NEW LOGO BACKLASH
On Monday, Cracker Barrel admitted that it “could have done a better job sharing who we are and who we’ll always be” after customers expressed outrage over the restaurant chain’s new logo.

The company said what has not and “will never change” are the values Cracker Barrel was built on when the Lebanon, Tennessee-based chain first opened in 1969.
Those values, the company said, are “hard work, family, and scratch-cooked food made with care.”
‘I felt violated’: Mom says British Airways crew exposed her mid-flight
A California mother says she was left “violated” on a British Airways red-eye flight in June when a crew member lifted her nursing cover without consent, exposing her while she breastfed her infant daughter.
Shayanne Wright, a Costa Mesa business owner and city commissioner, was traveling alone with her then 7-month-old on the long-haul flight.
She says she alerted the crew ahead of meal service that she would be nursing her baby to sleep and asked for her meal to be served afterward, a request she says was denied.
During meal service, Wright says the attendant tapped her thigh several times. “I stuck my hand out to wave him away,” she recalled. “Then, without asking, he lifts the nursing cover up completely. It wakes her up. Both my boobs are out. And he doesn’t even apologize. He goes, ‘Do you want your meal?’”
AIR CANADA REACHES TENTATIVE DEAL WITH FLIGHT ATTENDANTS, TO RESUME OPERATIONS
Wright described further unwanted physical contact during the flight, including repeated touches on her leg and attempts to fasten her seatbelt for her. “There was just a very hostile, physically invasive vibe,” she said.
British Airways has acknowledged receiving Wright’s complaint. In a statement to FOX Business, the airline said: “We have looked into these allegations and have been in contact with our customer directly to resolve the matter.” Wright disputes that, saying the airline never directly apologized and instead offered gift cards of $250 and later $1,000.
“It honestly felt like I was complaining about a broken headset,” she said. “It’s taken threatening legal action to get them to pay attention.”
Frustrated by what she describes as a form response, Wright turned to Reddit’s r/breastfeeding community. Her viral post struck a nerve, racking up more than 600,000 views.
“It was extremely validating,” she said. “So many women urging me not to let it go gave me the confidence to push forward.”
SPIRIT AIRLINES WARNS IT MAY NOT SURVIVE ANOTHER YEAR
Wright says she has characterized the incident to the airline as sexual harassment.
“That’s what it was,” she said, though she emphasizes that her original hope was for training and accountability rather than punishment. “At the beginning, my best-case scenario was that they would implement sensitivity training around this. They’ve just totally avoided any semblance of accountability.”
Some questioned her decision to travel with an infant in business class. Wright rejects that: “I paid the same amount of money as everybody else. I was wearing a cover. I waved him away. There’s nothing else I could have done differently.”
She also reminds those who do not support young families traveling the legality of breastfeeding in public. “Feeding your baby is a basic need. A cover isn’t even required. It’s legal to do everywhere, and most airlines allow it regardless.”
Both U.S. and U.K. regulations explicitly protect the rights of breastfeeding mothers when flying.
In the United States, the TSA exempts breast milk and formula from standard liquid restrictions, and in the U.K., breastfeeding is protected under the Equality Act 2010.
While the airline’s website lacks a dedicated breastfeeding policy, Condé Nast Traveler reported that British Airways said, “We carry thousands of infants and their families on our flights every year … And we welcome breastfeeding on board.”

For Wright, the experience has solidified her determination to speak out. “Never apologize for protecting that space you’re creating for your child with nursing,” she said.
While she vows never to fly British Airways again, her message to airlines is simple: “Just because someone is nursing, that’s not an invitation to touch them, their cover, or their baby. Stay away from that space.”
Mayor officially rebuked by Cincinnati cops after downtown beatdown goes viral
Union representatives for the Cincinnati Police Department have roundly rejected the city’s mayor, stemming in part from the fallout from the viral July 26 beatdown that reverberated across the nation.
“Tonight, the Cincinnati Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) Lodge 69 unanimously voted no confidence in Mayor Aftab Pureval, citing a series of leadership failures over the past month that have undermined public safety, police operations, and community trust,” the FOP said in a Monday night statement obtained by Fox News Digital.
FOP President Ken Kober decried what the organization feels is a lack of support from the mayor’s office in the release.
CINCINNATI POLICE UNION BLASTS ‘POLITICAL GAMES’ AS LEADERS CALL FOR PROSECUTION OF WHITE MAN IN VIRAL ASSAULT
“This unanimous vote of no confidence is a clear message from our members that Mayor Pureval’s leadership has fallen short in supporting the men and women who protect this city every day,” Cincinnati FOP President Ken Kober said. “From political interference in law enforcement to neglecting the well-being of officers and the community, these failures demand accountability and change.”
The FOP detailed the discussion that led them to the no confidence vote, and said that the mayor does not respond quickly enough to serious situations. Specifically, they referred to the three-day period between the July 26 viral brawl and Aftab’s first response to it.
The brawl occurred early on a Saturday morning, and the mayor remained on vacation in Vancouver until several days later.
CINCINNATI ASSAULT: POLICE CHIEFS RIP LEADERS OVER BAIL LAWS, ‘GAPS IN THE JUDICIAL PROCESS’
According to the release, Aftab also ordered the city solicitor to charge a White victim of the brutal beatdown with a crime, which the FOP said was done “solely to appease racial tensions at the urging of a few community leaders.”
That led to 45-year-old Alex Tchervinski being charged with disorderly conduct. Tchervinski can be seen slapping one of the perpetrators in the viral video, but his lawyer says he was hit in the head 28 times and robbed during the attack, while trying to protect his girlfriend and another friend during the melee.
His attorney says he was also hit “multiple times” before slapping back.
“City Solicitor [Emily] Woerner and the Pureval administration’s blatant political meddling is the most egregious I’ve witnessed in my career,” Kober told Fox News Digital after the charges were announced. “Overruling law enforcement and prosecutors for cheap political points is a disgraceful stain on our city, and those responsible should be utterly ashamed of themselves.”
CINCINNATI MAYOR UNDER FIRE FOR POLICE MANAGEMENT AFTER VIRAL BEATING EXPOSES LAX BAIL LAWS
The police union also said that Aftab failed to properly condemn city contractor Iris Roley, who was accused of interfering in a separate police investigation earlier this month, according to WLWT.
Seven alleged attackers have been charged in connection with the violent assault.
Six suspects, Patrick Rosemond, 38, Jermaine Mathews, 39, Montanez Merriweather, 34, DeKyra Vernon, 24, Dominique Kittle, 37, and Aisha Devaughn, 25, are each charged with three counts of alleged felonious assault, three counts of assault and two counts of aggravated rioting.
A seventh suspect in the attack, Gregory Wright, 32, was charged with alleged aggravated riot and aggravated robbery after allegedly snatching a chain off a victim of the brawl.
Separately, Merriweather has been charged at the federal level with being a felon in possession of a firearm, and Mathews has been charged federally with conspiring to distribute and possess with intent to distribute 40 grams or more of fentanyl and operating a premises for the purpose of trafficking narcotics.

DNC members unanimously pass DEI resolution despite Republican backlash
MINNEAPOLIS, MN – The Democratic National Committee (DNC) is reaffirming its support for diversity, equity, and inclusion, better known to millions of Americans by its acronym, DEI.
The DNC’s Resolutions Committee, meeting on Tuesday during the second day of the national party’s annual summer meeting, unanimously passed a resolution affirming what it highlighted as the “American Values’ of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
The approval of the resolution, which will face a vote by the full 400-plus DNC membership on Wednesday, comes amid relentless conservative backlash against DEI programs in recent years.
DNC CHAIR DEMANDS DEMOCRATS ‘STOP BRINGING A PENCIL TO A KNIFE FIGHT’
During the 2024 election cycle, now-President Donald Trump and Republicans repeatedly criticized Democrats for their longstanding support for DEI efforts and transgender rights, turning the Democrats’ stance into a political liability.
Republicans spent tens of millions on ads last year bashing transgender women in female sports. A commercial targeting then-Vice President Kamala Harris, the Democratic Party’s 2024 presidential nominee last summer and autumn, argued that “Kamala is for they/them, Donald Trump is for you.”
DEMOCRATS DIVIDED: TENSIONS FLARE OVER WAR IN GAZA
Following last year’s election setbacks, when Democrats lost control of the White House and Senate and failed to win back the House majority, some in the party have second-guessed their support for DEI and transgender rights.
Trump, in the opening months of his second term in the White House, has signed several executive orders taking aim at transgender and DEI policies implemented by then-President Joe Biden and by major universities and corporations.
But DNC committee member Bill Owen of Tennessee, who spoke in support of the resolution in front of the panel, took aim at Republicans as he praised DEI values.
HEAD HERE FOR THE LATEST FOX NEWS REPORTING ON DIVERSITY, EQUITY, AND INCLUSION
“These are American values. This is what America was built on,” Owen said. “And to my Republican friends and fellow citizens…who profess to be active Christians, I remind them that D.E.I.is the very foundation of the Christian church. I get a little emotional on this, but Jesus loves little children. All the children of the world. Red and yellow, black and white.”
“This week’s DNC meeting has proven once again just how disconnected Democrats are from the values and priorities of everyday Americans,” RNC communications director Zach Parkinson told Fox News Digital. “The DNC reaffirmed their party’s support for radical, racist DEI ideology and insulted Christians across the country by saying DEI is ‘the very foundation’ of Christianity. It’s no wonder Democrats’ approval rating is in the toilet.”
The vote by the Resolutions Committee on the DEI resolution came a day after Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, Harris’ running mate on the Democrats’ 2024 national ticket, said in an address at the DNC summer meeting that “we’re proud to be a diverse party. We are proud of the diversity of this country. We’re not shying away from diversity as a strength and equity as a goal and inclusion being the air we breathe. That’s what we should be doing.”

DEI efforts have been aimed at fostering fair treatment and full participation for all people, particularly those who have faced discrimination or underrepresentation.
But Trump, upon returning to the White House at the beginning of this year, called DEI efforts “illegal and immoral discrimination programs” and “public waste.”
Bedbugs love these American metropolitan areas — and one city in particular
When it comes to city living, most people expect the hustle and bustle of traffic and busy sidewalks, but probably don’t think of pests.
Orkin has released its latest bedbug report, spotlighting which cities have the biggest infestations.
The list is based on both commercial and residential treatment data from metro areas between May 15, 2024, to May 14, 2025.
FLESH-EATING PARASITE CASE DETECTED IN US TRAVELER RETURNING FROM CENTRAL AMERICA
Ben Hottel, an Orkin entomologist based in Atlanta, said in a press release it is “critical that people know the best ways to identify, prevent and control these pests.”
“Bedbugs are some of the most resilient pests in the world, making them extremely difficult to control if brought into a home or hotel,” he said.
Bedbugs are small, measuring around 3/16 inches long, and prefer human hosts to pets, according to Orkin.
“Clinging to items such as luggage, purses and other personal belongings, bedbugs can travel from place to place with ease,” the release states.

For the fifth year in a row, Chicago holds the top spot as the most bedbug-infested city.
In second place this year is Cleveland, Ohio, followed by Detroit, Michigan.
Los Angeles, California, took third place, followed by Indianapolis, Indiana.
Orkin gave Hartford, Connecticut, a notable mention for the biggest leap in the list, “debuting at No. 35 after jumping an unprecedented 48 spots — indicating a significant increase in bedbug activity.”

Charlotte, North Carolina; Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; and New York City all saw significant drops.
Out of the 50 cities, Houston, Texas, came in last as the least infested.
Prevention tips
Orkin shared the following tips to keep bedbugs at bay.
“Search the room for signs of infestation, looking for bedbugs, which are small, flat, oval-shaped insects that are brown and about the size of an apple seed.”
“Bedbugs are some of the most resilient pests in the world, making them extremely difficult to control.”
“Lift sheets, curtains and cushions to check for bedbugs or signs of bedbugs.”
“Elevate your luggage onto racks and keep it away from the bed or other furniture.”
“Examine your luggage carefully while repacking and again when you return home.”
“Place all dryer-safe clothing from your luggage in the dryer for 30 to 45 minutes at the highest heat setting upon returning home.”
Brittany Mahomes reacts to Swift-Kelce engagement after speculated election rift
Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift’s engagement has rocked the sports and entertainment worlds, and congratulations are pouring in from far and wide for the celebrity couple as they begin this next chapter of their love journey.
Among those wishing the couple the best was Brittany Mahomes, the wife of Kansas City Chiefs superstar quarterback Patrick Mahomes, who went on her Instagram Stories to share her excitement to hear the news.
“Two of the most genuine people meet & fall in love,” the 29-year-old wrote with a white heart and crying-happy-faced emojis. “Just so happy for these two.”

Patrick Mahomes shared the joint Instagram post on his Stories, adding three red hearts over the engagement photos that Kelce and Swift jointly shared on the social media app.
Brittany Mahomes and Swift share a strong friendship, with her husband recently telling reporters that Kelce and Swift called his wife after recording the popular “New Heights” podcast episode.
TAYLOR SWIFT AND NFL STAR TRAVIS KELCE ARE ENGAGED AFTER 2 YEARS TOGETHER
“They didn’t call me. They called Brittany. I was in the back of the FaceTime,” Mahomes said at training camp, while reflecting on the big announcement Swift made on the show about her upcoming album, .
“Just knowing Taylor and being a little closer to the process of how she makes the albums, it’s going to be amazing because of all the work that she puts into it. And what better place to announce it than the ‘New Heights’ podcast, where I feel like she can be herself and showcase who she is.”
Brittany Mahomes and Swift’s friendship sprouted in recent years when the latter made her relationship with Kelce public. Given Kelce and Patrick Mahomes are best friends on and off the field, it only seemed right their significant others would bond while watching them on gameday, which is exactly what happened.
During the 2024 presidential election, there were rumors of a potential rift after Swift endorsed then-Vice President Kamala Harris, while Brittany Mahomes liked a post from President Donald Trump on Instagram and wrote several messages responding to critics.
Those rumors heated up when they sat in separate suites during the Chiefs’ first game of the 2024 season against the Baltimore Ravens, and Trump himself added fuel to that fire after an interview on “Fox & Friends” where he said he liked Brittany “much better” than Swift.

But those rumors are clearly dispelled now, as the Mahomes family couldn’t be more excited for this next chapter with their friends.
Perhaps Brittany Mahomes and Swift will be spotted once more together, as the Chiefs kick off their 2025 regular-season campaign in Brazil against the Los Angeles Chargers on Sept. 5.
