Mr Wonderful defends Trump tariffs, calls for massive increase on China

Investor Kevin O’Leary called on President Donald Trump to impose even more punishing tariffs on China on Tuesday as the Trump administration continues to hold the line on its trade policies in the wake of severe market volatility.

“104% tariffs against China are not enough. I’m advocating 400%,” O’Leary said in an interview on CNN. “I do business in China. They don’t play by the rules. They’ve been in the WTO for decades. They have never abided by any of the rules they agreed to when they came in for decades. They cheat, they steal, they steal IP, I can’t litigate in their courts.”

Press secretary Karoline Leavitt confirmed on Tuesday that an additional 104% tariff on Chinese imports will be imposed on Wednesday. In Tuesday’s press briefing, Leavitt also reiterated Trump’s belief that China is looking to make a deal.

TRUMP RECIPROCAL TARIFFS, ADDITIONAL CHINA LEVIES TAKE EFFECT

“I want [China’s President] Xi on an airplane to Washington to level the playing field,” he said.

“This is not about tariffs anymore,” O’Leary continued. “No one has taken on China yet. Not the Europeans. No administration for decades. As someone who actually does business there, I’ve had enough. I speak for millions of Americans who have IP that has been stolen by the Chinese.”

“The government cheats and steals and finally an administration — you may not like Trump, you may not like his style or his rhetoric — finally, an administration that puts up and says ‘enough.’”

‘SEISMIC SHIFT’ IN TRADE CAUSING FRACTURED MESSAGING ON TRUMP TARIFFS

O’Leary said that placing massive economic pressure on Chinese President Xi Jinping would force him to negotiate with the US because “Xi can only stay the supreme leader if people are employed.”

“It’s the time to squeeze Chinese heads into the wall now,” he added, explaining that the US still has great economic leverage as the leading economic power in the world to force China to the bargaining table.

Attorney blames failed ‘border policies’ for coach’s alleged murder of 13-year-old player

The alleged California murder of a missing 13-year-old soccer player by his illegal immigrant coach was “an avoidable crime and the result of failed border policies,” a U.S. attorney told Fox News.

Mario Edgardo Garcia-Aquino, 43, allegedly killed his player, Oscar “Omar” Hernandez, in Lancaster on March 28, according to Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan Hochman. Multiple law enforcement sources told Fox News on Tuesday that Garcia-Aquino is an illegal immigrant from El Salvador.

“This was an avoidable crime and the result of failed border policies,” said U.S. Attorney for the Central District of California Bill Essayli. “We cannot and will not tolerate illegal aliens who flout our nation’s immigration laws then prey on children. Federal law enforcement will continue to be very aggressive in locating, apprehending, and prosecuting criminal illegal aliens.”

Garcia-Aquino illegally entered the U.S. as a “gotaway” at an unknown time and location, and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has had no previous encounters with him, a senior ICE source also told Fox News this week. ICE has since filed a detainer on him with the Los Angeles County jail.

CALIFORNIA YOUTH SOCCER COACH CHARGED WITH MURDERING MISSING 13-YEAR-OLD BOY IS IN US ILLEGALLY: SOURCES

“Thirteen-year-old Oscar ‘Omar’ Hernandez was an innocent child who was exploited and killed by this depraved illegal alien who should have never been in this country,” added Homeland Security spokesperson Tricia McLaughlin. “Under President Trump and Secretary Noem’s leadership, child predators, pedophiles and murderers will be hunted down and removed from America’s communities.”

Hochman said earlier this week that on the day of Hernandez’s alleged murder, he “went up to Lancaster to see Mr. Garcia-Aquino.

“Two days later he was reported missing. And on April 2, 2025 last week, his body was found in Oxnard off a road near Leo Carillo State Beach,” Hochman added at a news conference.

His office said Garcia-Aquino is charged with “one count of murder with the special circumstance allegation of murder during the commission or attempted commission of lewd acts with a child, making him eligible for the death penalty.” Additionally, Garcia-Aquino faces a possible maximum sentence of life in prison without parole.

The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office separately charged Garcia-Aquino on Monday with one felony count of assault with the intent to commit a sexual offense, following his alleged sexual assault of a 16-year-old boy in Palmdale in February 2024.

CALIFORNIA SHERIFF VOWS TO DEFY STATEWIDE SANCTUARY LAW: ‘THIS IS COMMON SENSE’

Garcia-Aquino was then charged on Tuesday with the alleged sexual assault of a 14-year-old boy in December 2022.

In an interview Wednesday on “Fox & Friends,” Hochman said, “when we got the first allegation in 2022… the DA’s office gets that in about August of 2023.”

“We do what we do in all cases. We analyze the evidence, and we have to not only move swiftly, but we have to win these cases beyond a reasonable doubt in court to a jury, a unanimous jury of 12. So we want to make sure we get it right. So we send it back for further investigation to build out the case. And some of these cases go quickly and some don’t. This one did not,” he continued. “So the allegation for 2022 took actually until the murder allegation came forward most recently, before we were able to develop the final bit of evidence to charge him with the 2022 arrest and sexual assault of a minor.”

“Under my administration, sexual violence cases are a high, high priority. And we are making sure that any type of allegations like this come in, there is maximum cooperation from the beginning, so we hopefully don’t have a tragedy like this where we take a person like Mr. Garcia-Aquino out of the picture before he kills someone,” Hochman added.

Los Angeles County Sheriff Robert Luna said Garcia-Aquino “was a youth travel soccer coach with the Hurricane Valley Boys Soccer Club in the Sylmar area working with different age divisions” and “he had no reported criminal history.”

Mayor blasts rock star’s charity for making town a ‘dumping ground’ for homeless

Jon Bon Jovi’s soup kitchen is causing more issues than it’s solving, in the opinion of Toms River Mayor Daniel Rodrick.

Rodrick spoke with Fox News Digital via phone, explaining that the New Jersey city has a homelessness problem that is being exacerbated by Bon Jovi and other nonprofits.

“We don’t want to be ground zero for homelessness. We don’t want to be a dumping ground for the homeless problem in the state of New Jersey. The state of New Jersey needs to step up and take care of this problem. They have the resources, and bussing people in from all over to Toms River is not a safe situation.”

Rodrick has not spoken directly with Bon Jovi or his organization that runs the soup kitchen, the JBJ Soul Foundation, but admits he is frustrated that the community kitchen opened in the library in Toms River.

BON JOVI-OWNED RESTAURANT GIVING AWAY MEALS TO FURLOUGHED GOVERNMENT WORKERS IMPACTED BY SHUTDOWN

“He’s already operating, he operated something in the Silverton section of town. But it was like a restaurant where people go, and they pay for their meal, and they feel good that the money’s going to be used for something. But this pop-up thing at the library was primarily geared toward making the library, the public library, ground zero for homelessness,” Rodrick said.

The pop-up restaurant opened on Feb. 11 and is one of a total of four locations in the state. It allows diners to pay it forward and cover a suggested $12 cost for those who can’t afford a meal there.

Those who can’t pay are able to volunteer at the community kitchen, which is open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays, in exchange for sandwiches, wraps, bowls and salads.

BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN ‘WAS NOT COMFORTABLE’ IN LOS ANGELES OR NEW YORK, FEELS ‘SAFE’ IN NEW JERSEY

In a statement to the New York Post, Bon Jovi and his wife, Dorothea, who both run the nonprofit, said, “The JBJ Soul Foundation and JBJ Soul Kitchen are committed to ending homelessness through real solutions. We are not here to just move people around or force them into the shadows. Our Foundation has built nearly a thousand units of affordable and supportive housing.”

“Through our JBJ Soul Kitchen, we connect people to resources and services. Whether they need employment, mental health support, or housing, we try to remove the barriers that are keeping them from thriving, not just surviving.”

Prior to Bon Jovi’s organization, Rodrick told Fox News Digital his concerns began after he took office about a year ago, when he was able to close down two homeless encampments and get individuals into housing. But then the Ocean County Board decided to open a warming center, and according to Rodrick, nonprofits began “bussing people into town.”

Rodrick said he raised his concerns to the board, but “they did it anyway and engaged a nonprofit that has various warming centers across the state and, inevitably, they start bussing people into town. Because if their beds are full in one town, they’re incentivized to hang on to these people, and they start putting them in your warming center.”

We wound up with dozens and dozens of people being dropped off downtown every single day at the library no less, where a mom should feel comfortable walking into the library with her daughter and get a book. You shouldn’t have to walk through gangs of two dozen intoxicated or mentally ill homeless individuals, and that’s the real issue here,” adding there have been numerous police and EMS calls since March from the library.

He also claims that there is “a lot of money that chases around this issue.”

“One of these nonprofits, he formed a nonprofit, this guy, and within a few short years he’s bringing in almost a million dollars in revenue, $750,000 according to charitable organization reports,” Rodrick said, while declining to call out a specific charity.

“So, I mean, that’s just this little operator who handles 15-20 people at a time, and three quarters of a million dollars is a lot of money, so you can only imagine how much money there is out there for this issue; and you know when they call it the ‘homeless industrial complex,’ I mean, man, they’re not kidding. It’s a big problem.”

He continued, “I feel they’re bussing them in to create the appearance of a problem so that the solution will be to open up a shelter, which will not improve the situation. It will drastically worsen the situation because then you’ll have people dropping people [off in Toms River] from all over the place. And what do you do with them when you can’t keep them? It’s a real problem. It’s a mental health problem, and it’s a substance abuse problem.”

“I’m not accusing Jon Bon Jovi of being in this for profit,” Rodrick noted. “We all like his music. And I think he means well and what he’s doing is the right thing, trying to feed people. We could all agree on that.”

“However, bussing dozens of people from all over the state of New Jersey, all over the County of Ocean … I’ve had people come in from as far away as North Carolina and Philadelphia that wind up in housing that I have to then provide, hotels and such. So they’re being bused in here, dumped here.”

Bon Jovi and Dorothea also addressed Rodrick’s claims that some nonprofit organizations are actually benefiting financially from bringing homeless people into Toms River.

“We are unsure where the mayor thinks millions of dollars are trading hands, but we are completely unaware of any such programs and receive no such funding,” they told the NY Post. “We invite anyone to the BEAT Center in Toms River or to the JBJ Soul Kitchen Pop Up to see what we are doing to end homelessness and hunger in our community.”

I’M A BLUE STATE MAYOR AND THE FUTURE OF HOMELESSNESS SCARES ME

Fox News Digital reached out to Bon Jovi, the JBJ Soul Foundation, the Ocean County Board of Commissioners and Ocean County Library for comment.

Rodrick said Bon Jovi’s community kitchen is set to close in May since it is a temporary pop-up, but he feels like the setup “ran roughshod right over the municipality” after he voiced his concerns.

“They purposefully made the problem worse after me complaining that they were creating this public safety problem,” he said. “Again, everybody, now every nonprofit around takes their people there. Would you want to take your daughter to the library when somebody’s dying on the stairs? It certainly doesn’t sound like Toms River, that’s for sure.”

The mayor also said he is looking at legal action against “certain nonprofits” that are “creating a public nuisance and who have cost the township money.” This does not include Bon Jovi’s community kitchen.

How the ‘face’ of the ‘Snow White’ remake failed to realize her mistakes

Zack Peter, host of the popular pop culture podcast “No Filter,” has been following the downward spiral of “Snow White” from the beginning.

Though some estimates from February predicted the film to make upwards of $85 million domestically in its opening weekend, “Snow White” opened in the U.S. and Canada to only $43 million in ticket sales. It then suffered a 66% drop at the box office in its second weekend. This past weekend, the new “A Minecraft Movie” opened with $163 million, while “Snow White” made just $6 million.

In Peter’s opinion, star Rachel Zegler is largely to blame for the movie’s collapse. In the months leading up to the “Snow White” premiere, Zegler’s outspoken politics gave her and the upcoming movie some unwanted attention. She posted the message, “Free Palestine,” on X, and in another post on Instagram she wished that Donald Trump supporters “never know peace.” She would later apologize for the latter comment, but not before some damage had already been done.

‘SNOW WHITE’ STAR RACHEL ZEGLER APOLOGIZES FOR PROFANE POST WISHING TRUMP SUPPORTERS ‘HAVE NO PEACE’

“I know people try to argue that like Gal Gadot and, you know, the other people were part of the criticism, but I feel like Rachel Zegler was very much at the center of it,” Peter told Fox News Digital on Tuesday. “She was very polarizing. She told people, you know, if they didn’t vote for Kamala Harris, she didn’t want their support. And I think they heard that message loud and clear. And so they didn’t want to come and support her.”

“And I think what, you know, somebody like Rachel Zegler, and I know she’s young, but I think what she fails to realize is it’s like, even if she does want to polarize her audience and there’s a fraction of the community that she doesn’t want supporting her, those are still people that have kids and their families, and they’re going to want to take their kids to be part of the magic that is Disney,” he continued. “And I feel like she definitely lost that message and turned a lot of people off.”

“I mean, the fact that she attached the promo of the trailer for Snow White with her free Palestine comment, Disney very much doesn’t like to get political at all,” he added. “They want to make sure that the magic of Disney is a welcoming community for everyone. So, I mean, I know a lot of people want to give her a pass, but I think a big part of why the movie bombed was because she’s the face of the film.”

SON OF ‘SNOW WHITE’ PRODUCER CRITICIZES ‘IMMATURE’ RACHEL ZEGLER FOR HURTING FILM

Peter suggested though that Disney was partly at fault for not “training” Zegler enough for her press tour.

“And maybe that’s Disney’s part. Disney’s failure to not prepare her for, you know, media training enough, but I just feel like at some point we need to hold her accountable to, like, at least understand how, if you’re going to want to pursue a career in Hollywood, and you’re going to want to attach yourself to a big brand like Disney, you’re going to kind of have to play by their rules if they’re paying you millions of dollars to be part of this film.”

Jonah Platt, son of “Snow White” producer Marc Platt, claimed in a now-deleted Instagram comment that his dad was forced to take time away from his family to deal with the Zegler fallout.

“Yeah, my dad, the producer of [an] enormous piece of Disney IP with hundreds of millions of dollars on the line, had to leave his family to fly across the country to reprimand his 20-year-old employee for dragging her personal politics into the middle of promoting the movie for which she signed a multi-million dollar contract to get paid and do publicity for,” he wrote.

FIVE CONTROVERSIES THAT ROCKED DISNEY’S ‘SNOW WHITE’ REMAKE BEFORE ITS RELEASE

Peter regretted that Disney, as of late, appeared to be straying from the classic love story formula. The live-action “Snow White” removed the song in which she sings about finding her true love and instead largely focuses on her quest to become a leader. Zegler even disparaged the original plot of the movie as backwards at the 2022 D23 Expo.

“I just mean that it’s no longer 1937,” she told Variety. “She’s not going to be saved by the prince, and she’s not going to be dreaming about true love. She’s dreaming about becoming the leader she knows she can be and the leader that her late father told her that she could be if she was fearless, fair, brave and true.”

“I don’t know why it’s so controversial to have a love story now, you know?” Peter mused to Fox News Digital. “Like, I just, I don’t understand. I fully believe that we can build up women without having to tear down men. And I don’t understand why we need to like, make men the villain here and why she can’t have a love interest. Like, that’s kind of the premise that so many of us grew up watching Disney is like falling for that fairy tale and wanting to fall in love.”
