Biden returns to podium to slam Trump admin: ‘Who in the hell do they think they are?’

Former President Joe Biden took shots at the Trump administration’s Social Security policies in his first major speech since leaving the White House on Tuesday evening.

“Seriously, people are now genuinely concerned for the first time in history, for the first and only time in history, that Social Security benefits may be delayed or interrupted,” Biden said from the Advocates, Counselors and Representatives for the Disabled (ACRD) conference in Chicago on Tuesday evening.

“In the 90 years since Franklin Roosevelt created the Social Security system, people have always gotten their Social Security checks. They’ve gotten them during wartime, during recessions, during the pandemic. No matter what, they got them. But now, for the first time ever, that might change. It would be a calamity for millions of families, millions of people,” he added.

The ACRD conference was billed as the 46th president’s first public speech since leaving the White House. Biden, however, has delivered other public remarks since Jan. 20, Fox Digital found, including speaking before the National High School Model United Nations in March, which received little media attention, as well as joining an International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers event this month.

ACRD is an advocacy organization that works to equip “disability professionals with the tools, technology, and training to lead the industry forward,” according to its website.

BIDEN AIDES ‘SCRIPTED’ EVERYTHING, ALLOWED HIS FACULTIES TO ‘ATROPHY,’ NEW BOOK CLAIMS

Biden’s keynote address, which ran less than an hour, overwhelmingly focused on his accomplishments with Social Security when he was president, taking aim at how the Trump administration is allegedly keeping the elderly up at night with worry over their Social Security benefits, as well as cracking a few jokes about his decades in politics.

CRITICISMS MOUNT THAT BIDEN IS A ‘SHADOW’ OF HIMSELF AFTER DISASTROUS DEBATE: ‘NOT THE SAME MAN’ FROM VP ERA

“Why are these guys taking aim at Social Security now?” Biden asked, referring to the Trump administration. Well, they’re following that old line from tech startups. The quote is, ‘Move fast, break things.’ They’re certainly breaking things. They’re shooting first and aiming later.”

“The result is a lot of needless pain and sleepless nights,” Biden said.

‘EMBARRASSINGLY WRONG’: LIBERAL MEDIA FIGURES ADMIT BEING IN DENIAL ABOUT BIDEN’S MENTAL DECLINE

The Trump administration has cut about 7,000 Social Security Administration staffers since taking office as part of its mission to cut government fat and bureaucracy and realign agencies with “America First” policies. Democrats have slammed President Donald Trump over the cuts, claiming he will cut Social Security benefits to seniors.

The White House has repeatedly rejected claims that the Trump administration will cut such benefits, vowing to “always protect” Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid benefits.

Biden continued that the Trump administration is allegedly looking to “wreck” Social Security to “rob it.”

“My friend, [Maryland] Gov. [Martin] O’Malley, knows what they’re really up to. He says, and I love his quote, ‘They want to wreck it so they could rob it.’ They want to wreck it so they could rob it. Why do they want to rob it? In order to deliver huge tax cuts to billionaires and big corporations and keep it going. They want to make permanent the 2017 tax cuts, which overwhelmingly benefits the wealthiest Americans and the biggest corporations. That’s going to cost $5 trillion. Where are they going to get $5 trillion to pay for when they continue to run the deficit up?”

“What they always do … by running up the national debt, No. 1, then by taking the money from someplace else. What are the two big pots of money out there in raw numbers? Social Security and Medicaid. … Republicans, these guys are willing to hurt the middle class and the working class in order to deliver significant, greater wealth to their already very wealthy [friends]. Who in the hell do they think they are?” he said.

Former Sen. Debbie Stabenow, D-Mich., and former Democrat Social Security Administrator and Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley joined the event. O’Malley presented Biden with ACRD’s “beacon of hope award” for his accomplishments as president, including his leadership during the COVID-19 pandemic and fighting for the “dignity of every person.”

EX-BIDEN AIDE SAYS FORMER PRESIDENT WAS ‘FATIGUED, BEFUDDLED, AND DISENGAGED’ PRIOR TO JUNE DEBATE: BOOK

Biden added that the nation is “divided” under Trump and can’t continue on the same path.

“We can’t go on like this as a divided nation, as divided as we are. I said, I’ve been doing this a long time, it’s never been this divided. Granted, it’s roughly 30%, but it’s a 30% that has no heart,” he continued.

The Trump administration’s official Social Security X account hit back after the speech that “Biden is lying to Americans” before providing a detailed list of “facts,” including that Trump has repeatedly pledged to protect benefits and that no field office has been closed since Jan. 20.

“SSA is taking commonsense steps to transform how we serve the public – last month, we spent $16.5 million to modernize telephone services nationwide. We’re developing cutting-edge, AI-powered tools to streamline simple tasks,” the thread continued. “SSA Inspector General report released while Joe Biden was President found $72 billion in improper payments from fiscal years 2015 through 2022.”

The event comes as political books investigating the 2024 campaign cycle hit the shelves, including “Uncharted: How Trump Beat Biden, Harris, and the Odds in the Wildest Campaign in History” and “FIGHT: Inside the Wildest Battle for the White House.”

BIDEN’S TEAM HID TRUTH ABOUT HIS HEALTH ALL ALONG: WH PRESS SEC

Excerpts from Chris Whipple’s “Uncharted” reported that White House staffers allegedly kept Biden from socializing with others, including close allies and friends, out of fear the 46th president “might say the wrong thing or might feed the mental acuity narrative.” He also appeared “absolutely exhausted” ahead of his ill-fated debate against Trump in June, according to the book, which opened the floodgates to public concern over Biden’s mental acuity as he tripped over his words and lost his train of thought during the debate.

Gene Hackman’s wife’s internet searches days before her death revealed

Gene Hackman’s wife, Betsy Arakawa Hackman, inquired about COVID-19 and flu-like symptoms multiple times before she died, according to a report obtained by Fox News Digital.

Detectives with the Santa Fe Sheriff’s Department also released footage from inside the Hackman home on the day their bodies were discovered in February.

Through a search of Betsy’s computer, investigators discovered an email Betsy sent to her massage therapist on Feb. 11 where she admitted Gene (G) took a “covid test” after experiencing “flu/cold-like symptoms.”

Prior to her email, Betsy had researched “COVID” at least four times before pursuing medical attention at the Cloudberry Health center in Santa Fe, New Mexico, documents showed.

GENE HACKMAN’S HOME FOUND TO BE INFESTED WITH RODENTS AFTER WIFE DIED OF HANTAVIRUS

With the release of the records as ordered by the First Judicial District Court, Santa Fe County, sheriffs extended their appreciation to first responders, and offered sincere condolences to the Hackman family in their time of loss.

“Our statutory and fiduciary responsibility to taxpayers requires us to find compassionate and workable solutions that respect both public transparency requirements and a grieving family’s dignity,” Santa Fe County Sheriff Adan Mendoza said.

Internet search history

Beginning Feb. 8 through 9, “multiple searches related to flu and COVID symptoms” were discovered in Betsy’s Google search history, detectives reported.

On Feb. 10, Betsy searched “flu and nosebleeds” at 11:52 a.m., followed one minute later with another search for “COVID nosebleeds.” At 1:15 p.m., she searched, “Can COVID cause dizziness?”

In an email correspondence with Katia Van Horn sent on Feb. 11 at 10:24 a.m., Betsy wrote, “So, G woke up today with flu/cold-like symptoms, did a COVID test, negative. But out of an abundance of caution, I should cancel my appt tomorrow and rebook, say, in a couple weeks, last week of Feb if something is available..”

Van Horn told investigators that she had not seen Gene “for over a year,” but mentioned that he had previously “undergone surgery performed by a doctor in New York.”

  • Feb. 12, 2025 at 9:26 a.m. – “Cloudberry Health Santa Fe, New Mexico”

Additionally, Van Horn saw Betsy on Feb. 5, and remembered the late pianist discussing a recent car accident where she had “hit a median with her vehicle” and needed to visit a Toyota repair shop.

Betsy’s final two search queries were on Feb. 12, including “How long do the effects of hyperbaric oxygen therapy last” at 8:59 a.m., and “Cloudberry Health Santa Fe, New Mexico” at 9:26 a.m.

“This data suggests that Betsy was actively researching medical conditions related to COVID-19 and flu-like symptoms in the days leading up to her death,” the report stated.

Dog guarding Betsy’s body

The Hackmans, and one of their dogs, were found dead in their home on Feb. 26. The couple had been married for more than 30 years.

In newly released video footage from the day authorities discovered Gene and Betsy’s bodies, body camera footage revealed one of the Hackmans dogs protecting Betsy’s body.

Bear and Nikita, the late couple’s dogs, helped authorities find Gene and Betsy’s bodies when officials arrived at their home in New Mexico.

Santa Fe Fire Chief Brian Moya explained the department immediately located Betsy in a bathroom after entering the front door of the New Mexico home. However, officials searched for nearly 30 minutes with no sign of Hackman.

Detectives initially described the couple’s deaths as “suspicious enough in nature to require a thorough search and investigation,” according to a search warrant affidavit obtained by Fox News Digital.

While paramedics and officers from the Santa Fe County Sheriff’s Department searched the home, one of the couple’s dogs kept running up to them. Authorities originally thought the dog wanted to play but later realized the pup was trying to help. One of Hackman and Betsy’s dogs died, but two remained alive at the home and were able to roam through an open back door.

The deceased dog, Zinna, likely died from dehydration and starvation, according to the report, which specified the dog’s stomach was empty.

Zinna’s body was discovered in a crate that was in a closet about “10 to 15” feet away from where Betsy’s body was found on the floor of the bathroom.

Betsy, a classical pianist, died of hantavirus pulmonary syndrome, according to New Mexico officials. Gene died from hypertensive atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease, with Alzheimer’s disease as a significant contributing factor.

Gene likely survived alone in the home for about a week, until he died around Feb. 18, which was the last time activity was recorded on his pacemaker. Authorities assumed this was his last day alive, as the Oscar winner’s body was not discovered for nine more days.

Fears of serial killer rise as police downplay threat near wealthy coastal towns

Speculation about a serial killer in New England is gaining significant traction online – specifically stemming from discussions in a private Facebook group called “New England Serial Killer.”

Members of the Facebook group and social media users on other platforms like TikTok and X are pointing to several recent discoveries of human remains in Connecticut, Massachusetts and Rhode Island between March and April.

Authorities across all three states have identified remains in New Haven, Groton, Killingly and Norwalk, Connecticut, as well as Framingham and Plymouth, Massachusetts, and Foster, Rhode Island.

Three sets of human remains have been identified. New Haven police identified remains discovered on March 21 as Denise Leary, a formerly missing 59-year-old mother of two. Norwalk police also identified the remains of 35-year-old Paige Fannon of West Islip, New York, on March 6. Her remains were found in a swiftly moving Norwalk River after heavy rainfall the night before.

Rhode Island State Police identified remains found in a wooded area of Foster as 56-year-old Michele Romano, who had been missing since August 2024.

Their causes of death have not been released as of Tuesday.

“There is no information at this time suggesting any connection to similar remains discoveries, and there is also no known threat to the public at this time,” Connecticut State Police said in a statement to Fox News Digital.

CTSP further told police that troopers responded to Woodward Street in Killingly on April 9 regarding the discovery of possible human remains. Police later confirmed the remains, which have yet to be identified, and said there is no known threat to the public.

The serial killer speculation seems to stem from the series of discoveries of female human remains over the span of two months. However, just because police discovered the remains between March and April does not mean all the victims died between March and April.

Pentagon deputy chief of staff is second advisor placed on leave amid DOD leak probe

The Defense Department’s (DOD) deputy chief of staff was placed on administrative leave on Tuesday, following the steps of another Pentagon official earlier in the day.

Darin Selnick, the deputy chief of staff for Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, has been removed, a senior U.S. official confirmed to Fox News.

Selnick is under investigation for the same leak probe that saw Hegseth aide Dan Caldwell escorted out of the Pentagon by security. Both Selnick and Caldwell are on administrative leave.

According to the Pentagon’s website, Selnick is a retired Air Force officer who has worked extensively in veterans’ affairs organizations.

“Mr. Selnick leverages his extensive government and non-government experience advocating for veterans to position Service members for productive post-separation lives from the first day they put on a uniform,” the biography states.

Both Selnick and Caldwell worked for Concerned Veterans for America in the past, a group formerly led by Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth.

Reuters reported that Caldwell was placed on leave for an “unauthorized disclosure,” as part of an investigation into leaked Pentagon documents.

The probe was announced last month, and concerned itself over “recent unauthorized disclosures of national security information.”

“The use of polygraphs in the execution of this investigation will be in accordance with applicable law and policy,” DOD Chief of Staff Joe Kasper wrote in a memo at the time. “This investigation will commence immediately and culminate in a report to the Secretary of Defense.”

An official told Politico that the leak concerned Panama Canal plans and Elon Musk’s visit to the Pentagon, among other matters.

James Carville tells progressive Dems to split from party

Veteran Democratic strategist James Carville wants the progressive wing of the Democratic Party to distance themselves from the party, suggesting a “split” due to “pronoun politics.”

“I don’t think we can’t work together on pronoun politics. This election did not teach you how damaging that is. I don’t think there’s anything that I can tell you,” Carville said on the Politics War Room podcast on Tuesday.

KAMALA HARRIS WAS ‘VERY ANNOYED’ WITH OBAMA AS SHE SOUGHT HIS ENDORSEMENT, BOOK REVEALS

“And you say, this guy is stuck in another century, not another decade. And he represents nothing to do with the future of our movement. I can accept that. You’re not really going to hurt my feelings. So, maybe we can have a kind of amicable split here,” he added.

As progressives tend to be very vocal about LGBTQ rights, Carville proposed that there needs to be a “schism” within the Democratic Party.

Carville went on to say, “They’ll never run against a Republican… All they do is run against other Democrats. I don’t quite understand why you’re so anxious to have the word Democrat in the description of what you do. But maybe we can have an amicable split here. And you go your way, we go our way, and after the election, we come together and see how much common ground we can find.”

KAMALA HARRIS SAYS ‘I TOLD YOU SO’ WHILE SLAMMING PRESIDENT TRUMP’S SECOND TERM IN LATEST PUBLIC APPEARANCE

Carville’s comments came after he said last week that the Democratic Party needed to distance themselves from identity politics because their first priority should be to win elections. He explained further that if there is a formidable female candidate to win the White House, then the Democratic Party will rally around her.

Carville, who became famous for working on former President Bill Clinton’s campaign in 1992, listed several factions within the Democratic Party, including the Justice Party, the Working Families Party, and the Socialist Party.

“The only thing I’d ask is just don’t use the word Democratic in any title that you have, because most Democrats that I know that are running for office don’t want your name, don’t want you to be part of the deal,” the veteran Democratic strategist said. “They would surely be glad to take your vote. Who wouldn’t? Everybody wants to get as many votes as they can. Maybe you come up with your own name. And by the way, nothing against after the election, you can sit down and do like it’s done in parliamentary governments or governments around the world.”

‘Home Alone 2’ director on President Trump’s cameo: ‘I can’t cut it’

“Home Alone 2: Lost in New York” director Chris Columbus now considers President Donald Trump’s famous cameo in the film a “curse” and “albatross” around his neck.

The 1992 film featured a brief cameo by the then-real estate mogul as himself giving directions to the movie’s main character, Kevin McCallister, played by Macaulay Culkin, at New York’s Plaza Hotel, which he owned at the time.

Though the appearance is considered an iconic moment in the film, Columbus told the San Francisco Chronicle on Monday that he now wishes it was gone.

“Years later, it’s become this curse,” Columbus said. “It’s become this thing that I wish it was not there.”

TRUMP’S CAMEO IN ‘HOME ALONE 2’ TOPS LONG LIST OF PRESIDENT-ELECT’S ACTING ROLES

Columbus told Business Insider in 2020 that Trump “bull[ied] his way” into the film by saying, “The only way you can use the Plaza is if I’m in the movie.”

In 2023, however, Trump claimed in a social media post that the filmmaker begged for his cameo, which Columbus now disputes.

“What’s going through this guy’s mind? He said I was lying. I’m not lying. He said I begged him to be in the movie, but there’s no world I would ever beg a non-actor to be in a movie,” Columbus SF Chronicle. “But we were desperate to get the Plaza Hotel.”

He continued, “But it’s [the cameo] there. It’s become an albatross for me. I just wish it was gone.”

Columbus said he was surprised at how popular the cameo was, particularly during one of the film’s early screenings.

‘HOME ALONE 2’ STAR MACAULAY CULKIN SIDES WITH FAN’S ‘PETITION’ TO REMOVE TRUMP FROM FILM: ‘SOLD’

“We screened the film in Chicago, and when that moment came onscreen the audience went crazy,” Columbus said. “They cheered and they cheered and they thought it was hilarious. I think I know a lot about comedy, but I don’t, obviously, because I never thought that was going to be considered hilarious.”

Columbus jokingly added that he can’t cut the cameo now out of fear of being deported, despite being an American citizen.

“I can’t cut it,” Columbus said. “If I cut it, I’ll probably be sent out of the country. I’ll be considered sort of not fit to live in the United States, so I’ll have to go back to Italy or something.”

Trump weighs in on Senate primary between 2 GOP heavyweights in major red state

President Donald Trump weighed in on an already contentious Senate primary race in the most populous red state in the nation, saying he will make an endorsement decision “at the right time.”

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton announced his candidacy for the U.S. Senate while speaking on Fox News last week. Paxton, a conservative firebrand and outspoken supporter of Trump, is seeking to replace incumbent Sen. John Cornyn, an influential member of the GOP who previously served as the Party’s Senate whip and has held the seat since 2002.

With both Paxton and Cornyn being considered leading members of the Republican Party, the race promises to be particularly messy.

Paxton has accused the current senator of being a lukewarm supporter of Trump’s agenda, saying, “It’s time that we have another great senator that will actually stand up and fight for Republican values, fight for the values of the people of Texas and also support Donald Trump in the areas that he’s focused on in a very significant way.”

TRUMP SAYS HE’S LOOKING AT CERTAIN TARIFF EXEMPTIONS FOR AUTOMAKERS: ‘THEY NEED A LITTLE BIT OF TIME’

For his part, Cornyn has dismissed the attorney general as a “fraud” motivated by “vanity and personal ambition.”

Trump told reporters that both GOP senatorial candidates in Texas are “friends of mine” and “good men,” but he stopped short of issuing an endorsement of one over the other, at least for now.

“Well, they’re both friends of mine,” said Trump. “They’re both good men, and I don’t know. We don’t, we don’t know who else is running, but these two, you know, Ken and John, they’re both friends of mine, so I’ll make a determination at the right time.”

Since announcing his candidacy, Paxton has already garnered endorsements from Reps. Troy Nehls, R-Texas, and Lance Gooden, R-Texas, as well as around 250 state legislators and business leaders across the state, according to a spokesperson.

TRUMP, OFFICIALS HAVE TENSE EXCHANGE WITH CNN REPORTER OVER DEPORTATION OF EL SALVADORAN NATIONAL

Those endorsing Paxton are emphasizing his pledge to double down on his conservative agenda and “take a sledgehammer to the D.C. establishment.”

One of Paxton’s supporters, conservative Texas Rep. Tony Tinderholt, called him “the most conservative attorney general in the nation,” saying he “will be a fantastic upgrade over John Cornyn.”

Gooden, whose district is just east of Dallas, said he was endorsing Paxton because “it’s time for change in Texas,” adding that “Texans deserve a conservative champion who has a record of taking on the establishment, fighting to secure our border, and advancing the Trump agenda.”

Meanwhile, Cornyn, who has been in the Senate for nearly 23 years, has the support of some of the Republican Party’s top leaders, including Senate Majority Leader John Thune, R-South Dakota, Sen. Tim Scott, R-South Carolina, as well as the National Republican Senatorial Committee.

TRUMP ORDERS MILITARY TO SEIZE PORTIONS OF SOUTHERN BORDER AMID IMMIGRATION CRACKDOWN

Since Trump returned to the White House three months ago, Cornyn has been supportive of the president’s Cabinet nominees and agenda.

Cornyn has emphasized previous corruption and bribery charges against Paxton, which in 2023 led to the attorney general being impeached by the Texas House of Representatives. Paxton was later acquitted of all charges by the Texas Senate.

Paxton was indicted on securities fraud charges soon after taking office in 2015 and also came under investigation by the FBI over bribery and corruption allegations from former top staffers. The charges in the long-running federal corruption probe were dropped during the final weeks of the Biden administration.

A spokesperson for Cornyn’s campaign asserted that Trump would be wise to endorse the senator, emphasizing his experience helping to lead the GOP.

TRUMP’S ‘BIG, BEAUTIFUL BILL’ FACES A TOUGH NEXT TEST IN CONGRESS

“During his first term, John Cornyn voted with President Trump more than 95% of current Senators, securing the votes for his biggest accomplishments as his Whip,” the representative told Fox News Digital.

“Democrats are trying to destroy President Trump,” the representative went on. “And he and Texas need a battle-tested conservative who knows how to protect his agenda in the Senate and won’t be outsmarted by [Minority Leader] Chuck Schumer.”

Paxton, however, posits that Cornyn’s enthusiasm for Trump is all an act.

“We’re all glad John Cornyn suddenly found religion and is embracing President Trump’s policies now that he’s facing a primary challenge,” Paxton told Fox News Digital. “But if he’s re-elected, he’ll immediately go back to being the same old John who said President Trump’s ‘time has passed him by’ and fought to stop the President’s America First agenda.”

“I was grateful to join my friend Troy Nehls as one of two elected officials at President Trump’s 2024 announcement and have always been proud to stand with him,” he said. “I will continue to support the President and work with him to secure our border, defend the integrity of our elections, and protect our 2nd Amendment—unlike John Cornyn who has tried to undermine President Trump every step of the way.”

“I’m incredibly grateful to have the support of over 250 conservative leaders from across our great state,” Paxton went on. “While John Cornyn is relying on the Washington establishment to save him, I’m proud that my campaign is powered by the grassroots and the people of Texas.”

As Cornyn and Paxton vie for the GOP nomination, former Democratic Rep. Colin Allred, who launched a surprisingly competitive but ultimately unsuccessful challenge against Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, in 2024, is weighing another run in 2026.

Rory McIlroy’s psychologist explains silence with Bryson DeChambeau at Masters

When it’s in between the lines — or with golf, inside the ropes — it’s all business for Rory McIlroy.

That memo apparently did not get to Bryson DeChambeau ahead of the final round of the Masters.

The two were paired together again in a major, just like last year’s U.S. Open, which DeChambeau snatched from McIlroy in the late holes. McIlroy even joked over the winter that he wanted to “get back” at DeChambeau for “what he did to me” at Pinehurst.

DeChambeau cracked, “To be fair, you kind of did it to yourself.”

It was friendly competitive banter between the Ryder Cup and PGA-LIV rivals, but nothing was friendly on Sunday.

DeChambeau said McIlroy “didn’t talk to me once” during the final round.

That was all part of the plan.

“That didn’t have anything to do with Bryson,” McIlroy’s sports psychologist, Bob Rotella, told the BBC, via ESPN. “That was just the game plan all week, and we wanted to get lost in it. We didn’t want to pay attention to what anyone else was scoring, or shooting, or swinging or how far they were hitting it. We just wanted Rory to play his game.

“The point is, if you believe you’re going to win, just play your game and assume that if you do that anywhere near the way you’re capable of, then you will end up No. 1.”

Despite plenty of hiccups, it worked. McIlroy finally won his first Masters and completed the career grand slam on his 11th attempt.

DeChambeau said he enjoyed the excitement of the day but said his partner appeared zoned in.

“He was just like ‘eh.’ Just being focused, I guess. That’s not me, though,” DeChambeau said.

McIlroy became the first player to win a Masters despite double-bogeying four times in the tournament. To combat that, he set a tournament record with 30 “3s” on the scorecard.

President Trump shares proudest accomplishment of his historic first 100 days

Nearing the close of his first 100 days in office, President Donald Trump touted his administration’s accomplishments with tariffs and the border during an exclusive interview with Fox Noticias on Tuesday.

When Fox News’ Rachel Campos-Duffy asked Trump what he was most proud of since his return to office, the president first pointed to his administration’s success addressing the border crisis.

“I think the thing that people now realize is the border is 100%. It’s like literally 100%. It’s perfect now, and I don’t know if you can tell. Perfect. But it’s going to get better. And by the way, we want people to come in, but they have to come in legally and everybody agrees to that,” Trump said.

TRUMP OPEN TO SENDING VIOLENT AMERICAN CRIMINALS TO EL SALVADOR PRISONS

Securing the border was one of Trump’s primary campaign promises. Since his inauguration, illegal border crossings have been steadily decreasing.

A new report by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) revealed that there were fewer apprehensions at the southern border in the entire month of March than there were in the first two days of the month in 2024 under the Biden administration.

According to the report, this is the second consecutive month in which U.S. Border Patrol averaged its lowest daily nationwide apprehensions in history.

During the Fox Noticias interview, President Trump also shared his pride over the administration’s economic successes, including tariff policies.

“We’re making tremendous amounts of money taking in billions and billions, hundreds of billions of dollars in tariffs from other countries that for many, many decades just ripped off the United States. And it’s time that we not allow that to happen,” he told Campos-Duffy.

Earlier this month, Trump unveiled a tariff plan on what the administration dubbed “Liberation Day.” Since April 2, the administration has issued a 90-day pause on reciprocal tariffs for countries willing to negotiate a trade deal while increasing the tariffs imposed on China.

Trump told Campos-Duffy there are many accomplishments he is “happy” about, also pointing to Congress’ work on the “Big, Beautiful Bill” which would include tax cuts and slashing regulations.
