General Situation

Areas of intense thundery showers associated with a trough of low pressure moved across the vicinity of the Pearl River Estuary today. Locally, it was mainly cloudy with a few showers. Showers were heavier in some areas during the day with squally thunderstorms. More than 10 millimetres of rainfall were recorded over many places. Pressure rose over central China today. A cold front is expected to form over the northern part of southern China tomorrow and move across the coastal areas tomorrow night. There will be showers and thunderstorms over the region. Under the influence of the associated dry northeast monsoon, it will be slightly cooler in the morning early next week over southern China and the weather will improve gradually.

Forecast Description

Mainly cloudy with a few showers. More showers gradually with a few squally thunderstorms. Showers will be heavier in some areas. Temperatures will be about 25 degrees in the morning. The maximum temperature will be around 28 degrees during the day. Light winds at first. Winds will strengthen from the north at night, and temperatures will fall progressively to a minimum of around 23 degrees at midnight.
There will still be showers at first on Sunday. It will be slightly cooler with a minimum temperature of about 20 degrees. The weather will improve and it will be dry during the day on Monday. Hot with sunny periods and a few showers in the following couple of days.
