Dem governor hopeful calls Kirk ‘Christian nationalist’ after House honors activist
Rep. Mikie Sherrill, D-N.J., the far-left Democratic nominee for governor, called Charlie Kirk a Christian nationalist who wanted to roll back the rights of women and Black people after the passage of a House resolution honoring the conservative activist.
The House adopted a resolution to honor Kirk’s “life and legacy” Friday, just over a week after he was shot and killed during a college campus speaking event in Utah. The measure got bipartisan support in a 310-58 vote, with both Democrats and Republicans condemning political violence after Kirk’s assassination.
The vote divided Democrats, however, with 95 lawmakers, including Sherrill, voting to adopt the resolution, 58 voting against it and 22 not voting at all.
LAWMAKER WHO TIED KIRK TO ‘DOMESTIC TERRORISM’ FACING EXPULSION CALLS AMID POLITICIAN BLOWBACK NATIONWIDE
“I take my oath to the Constitution seriously. I believe in free speech and that the First Amendment wouldn’t be necessary if it were only meant to cover language we agreed with,” Sherrill said in a statement. “It is meant to protect people like Charlie Kirk who present vile dissenting views. But it is also meant to protect teachers, doctors and TV comedians who may express views the president doesn’t like.
“Charlie Kirk was advocating for a Christian nationalist government and to roll back the rights of women and Black people. This flies in the face of every value I hold dear and that I fight for,” she added. “But the Constitution protects free speech, even for those I vehemently oppose.”
In addition, the lawmaker said President Donald Trump continues to “define hypocrisy.”
“On one hand, he denounced Kirk’s politically motivated killing, while on the other hand, he is instigating a witch hunt worthy of Joseph McCarthy to shut down the free speech rights of anyone who disagrees with Kirk’s racist, anti-American views,” she said.
58 HOUSE DEMS VOTE AGAINST RESOLUTION HONORING ‘LIFE AND LEGACY’ OF CHARLIE KIRK
While condemning Kirk’s murder, she said she will continue to “condemn political violence, racism, attacks on women and the hypocrisy coming from Trump and his acolytes.”
Sherrill has been criticized by Republicans for embracing Zohran Mamdani, a socialist who is the Democratic nominee for the 2025 New York City mayoral election.
“It’s not that hard to disavow socialism, and Mikie Sherrill’s official comments saying she shares the goals of socialist Zohran Mamdani is not only absurd, but it is disqualifying. Period. Full stop,” Republican Governors Association Communications Director Courtney Alexander said in June.
“It should alarm New Jerseyans that Mikie Sherrill, in her words, wants to ‘throw out the old playbook’ and ‘share his voters’ goal.’

“Just a few of Mamdani’s top agenda items include defunding the police, ending cooperation with ICE and government-run grocery stores,” he added. “New York City’s failures have always become New Jersey’s problems, and Mikie Sherrill’s new embrace of socialist Zohran Mamdani is a terrifying risk New Jerseyans cannot afford.”
Johnny Carson clip about ‘danger’ of late-night lecturing goes viral amid Kimmel drama
A famous clip resurfaced of legendary late-night host Johnny Carson defending his right to avoid bringing up “serious issues” on his talk show, arguing there is a danger in hosts like him being too self-important and swaying the public.
Carson was a prolific television host and comedian, best known for hosting “The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson” from 1962 to 1992. He became a cultural icon with his clever wit, at-ease interviewing style and his aid in launching the careers of numerous stars. Remembered as the “King of Late Night,” Carson is widely considered the gold standard for modern late-night talk show hosts.
In the resurfaced clip from 1979, “60 Minutes” interviewer Mike Wallace voiced a critique made by some at the time that Carson would “never take a serious controversy,” which Carson had an immediate answer for.
JAY LENO CRITICIZES MODERN LATE-NIGHT COMEDY FOR ALIENATING HALF THE AUDIENCE WITH PARTISAN POLITICS
“Now, tell me the last time that Jack Benny, Red Skelton, any comedian, used his show to do serious issues. That’s not what I’m there for. Can’t they see that?” Carson replied. “Why do they think that just because you have a ‘Tonight Show,’ that you must deal in serious issues?
“That’s a danger. It’s a real danger. Once you start that, you start to get that self-important feeling that what you say has great import. And you know, strangely enough, you could use that show as a forum. You could sway people. And I don’t think you should as an entertainer.”

The clip has gone viral as many debate the decline of late-night talk show viewership, particularly as many of its hosts, such as Jimmy Kimmel of “Jimmy Kimmel Live!,” have become preachy about their personal politics in recent years.
CBS late-night host Stephen Colbert and Kimmel have raised money for the Democratic Party in recent years and made their programs openly supportive of its causes.
Colbert’s show will go off the air in May, reportedly because it was hemorrhaging money.
Kimmel’s show was suspended by ABC this week after the host’s controversial remarks about the alleged killer of Charlie Kirk that suggested he was a MAGA supporter rather than a leftist. The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) suggested it could take action before two major local ABC affiliate owners announced they were preempting Kimmel’s program and forced Disney’s hand.

Dana White calls for change after Charlie Kirk assassination impacts his family
UFC CEO Dana White spoke about the recent assassination of Charlie Kirk during an interview on Fox News’ “Special Report” on Friday.
White, a supporter of President Donald Trump, said it was “hard to wrap your brain around” the incident.
“Things started to feel better and get normal again, and then that happened, and it’s almost like, you know, it’s all starting over again,” White said. “Not just my daughter, a lot of kids were impacted by this, kids who loved and respected Charlie, and it’s just, it’s just hard to wrap your brain around when something like this happens.”
White said he’s looking for “unity” and “normalcy” following the assassination.

Trump orders deadly blow to terrorists ‘poisoning Americans’ in international waters
President Donald Trump announced on Truth Social Friday that he ordered a lethal strike on a vessel allegedly linked to a designated terrorist organization “conducting narco-trafficking” in the U.S. Southern Command’s area of responsibility.
The strike, carried out on a vessel confirmed by intelligence to be trafficking illicit narcotics, left three narco-terrorists dead, Trump said in the post, along with a video showing the moment the boat was struck and became engulfed in flames.
“On my Orders, the Secretary of War ordered a lethal kinetic strike on a vessel affiliated with a Designated Terrorist Organization conducting narcotrafficking in the USSOUTHCOM area of responsibility,” Trump posted to his Truth Social account Friday evening.
“Intelligence confirmed the vessel was trafficking illicit narcotics, and was transiting along a known narcotrafficking passage enroute to poison Americans.”

The strike took place in international waters, and no U.S. forces were harmed, he added.

“The strike killed 3 male narcoterrorists aboard the vessel, which was in international waters,” Trump said. “No U.S. Forces were harmed in this strike. STOP SELLING FENTANYL, NARCOTICS, AND ILLEGAL DRUGS IN AMERICA, AND COMMITTING VIOLENCE AND TERRORISM AGAINST AMERICANS!!!”
The announcement came just days after Trump announced the U.S. military had carried out its second strike on Venezuelan cartels as the administration continues its crackdown.

Sophie Cunningham confronts policewoman in tense moment with Caitlin Clark
Indiana Fever star Sophie Cunningham had an up-close discussion with a policewoman during the team’s playoff win against the Atlanta Dream Thursday night in Atlanta.
With just over four minutes left in the fourth quarter and the Dream leading by six, Dream player Odyssey Sims sustained an injury, prompting an injury timeout. During that timeout, Cunningham walked to center court with WNBA phenom Caitlin Clark following closely behind her.
There, an Atlanta policewoman met them and appeared to tell them to back up with a gesture. Cunningham did not back up until after exchanging words with the policewoman.

Cunningham later reshared a photo of the encounter with the policewoman on social media with the caption, “THIS IS SOME AURA.”
Even with Cunningham and Clark out for the year, the Fever won the game and series to advance in the WNBA playoffs. The team will face the Las Vegas Aces in the next round.

But the Fever will have to press on in their playoff quest without their two biggest stars in Cunningham and Clark because they are not coming back this season.
Still, the cameras are likely to be on the two sidelined stars often so long as the team is still playing.
Cunningham and Clark have been a frequent focus of broadcast cameras and media attention throughout the team’s playoff run while they remained sidelined due to injury.

AOC says Charlie Kirk’s beliefs were ‘ignorant’ and ‘uneducated’ on House floor
Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., on Friday opposed a resolution honoring the life and legacy of Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk, who was assassinated Sept. 10 during a speaking engagement at Utah Valley University.
In a speech on the House floor, Ocasio-Cortez claimed the resolution was introduced on a “purely partisan basis, instead of uniting Congress.”
After condemning Kirk’s murder, she noted the resolution “brings great pain to the millions of Americans who endured segregation, Jim Crow and the legacy of bigotry today” and tore into the late 31-year-old’s ideology.
“We should be clear about who Charlie Kirk was, a man who believed that the Civil Rights Act that granted Black Americans the right to vote was a mistake, who, after the violent attack on Paul Pelosi, claimed that ‘some amazing patriot’ should bail out his brutal assailant and accused Jews of controlling ‘not just the colleges – it’s the nonprofits, it’s the movies, it’s Hollywood, it’s all of it,'” Ocasio-Cortez said.
58 HOUSE DEMS VOTE AGAINST RESOLUTION HONORING ‘LIFE AND LEGACY’ OF CHARLIE KIRK
“His rhetoric and beliefs were ignorant, uneducated and sought to disenfranchise millions of Americans — far from the ‘working tirelessly to promote unity’ as asserted by the majority in this resolution.”
The resolution described Kirk as a “devoted Christian,” “dedicated husband” and a “loving father” of two, explaining his founding of Turning Point USA and commending his personification of the First Amendment.
It resolved the House of Representatives to condemn Kirk’s assassination and all forms of political violence; commended law enforcement for catching Kirk’s alleged killer; extended condolences to Kirk’s family; honored Kirk’s life, leadership and legacy; and called upon all Americans — regardless of race, party affiliation or creed — to “reject political violence, recommit to respectful debate, uphold American values, and respect one another as fellow Americans.”
‘FEARLESS’ TOUR TAKES CHARLIE KIRK’S FREE SPEECH MISSION TO COLLEGES NATIONWIDE
In addition to Ocasio-Cortez, 57 other Democrats voted against the resolution, including Ilhan Omar of Minnesota, Rashida Tlaib of Michigan and Maxine Waters of California.
However, 95 Democrats voted to adopt the resolution, including Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, D-N.Y., Whip Katherine Clark, D-Mass., and Caucus Chairman Pete Aguilar, D-Calif.
Here is a breakdown of public comments Kirk made regarding the topics Ocasio-Cortez mentioned in her dissent.
AOC CLAIM: Charlie Kirk was “a man who believed that the Civil Rights Act that granted Black Americans the right to vote was a ‘mistake'”
During a Feb. 2, 2024, podcast episode with “Fearless” host Jason Whitlock, Kirk acknowledged his ideas about the Civil Rights Act and its role in American society were “provocative,” thanking Whitlock for the opportunity to further explain.
“It’s an awful provocative conversation I started. I stand by it, and I appreciate the opportunity. I mean this sincerely, Jason — to explain it. There’s even some people on the right that have been just throwing insults, and they would never have me on the show to explain it.”
Kirk went on to say he extensively researched what the Civil Rights Act was, what it tried to accomplish, how it was sold to the American people at the time and how it is perceived now by the modern academic consensus.
“At the time, of course, there were legislative priorities that needed to be done by the federal government to stop bitter segregation — I’ve always held that,” Kirk said. “The American people thought they were getting minor legislative adjustments to say that segregation based on race is evil and wrong. In reality, what they got was the birthing of a permanent deep state of bureaucrats that were looking for racism where it didn’t exist, eventually with affirmative action, quotas and hiring practices expanded beyond race into LGBTQ-type issues.
“What the Civil Rights era really birthed was this idea that it’s the federal government’s job not just to say that discrimination is wrong, but to actively go against any sort of disparate outcome and try to even the score under the guise of equity.”
ANTI-TRUMP VOICES PRAISE CHARLIE KIRK’S LEGACY AFTER ASSASSINATION, SAY HE WAS DOING POLITICS ‘THE RIGHT WAY’
Kirk went on to discuss Martin Luther King Jr.’s “I have a dream” speech, saying he “100% bought into” the need for equality, but adding he believed the Civil Rights Act was expanded further than the initial intention.
“At the time, a majority of Americans wanted to see an end to desegregation,” he said. “They didn’t want to see new segregation put forward in eventually anti-White hiring practices, affirmative action or the entire federal bureaucracy having racial hiring quotas.
“Eventually, you look around and you have the left defending Black-only dormitories at hundreds of universities across the country, Black-only graduation ceremonies. … You look back to the Civil Rights Act and you say maybe we overreached and built something we didn’t intend, a federal Leviathan in the form of anti-racism.”

AOC CLAIM: After Paul Pelosi’s violent assault, Charlie Kirk claimed ‘some amazing patriot’ should bail out his brutal assailant
In an Oct. 31, 2022, episode of “The Charlie Kirk Show,” titled “A Naked Smear of MAGA,” Kirk discussed the Oct. 28, 2022, attack against Nancy Pelosi’s husband, saying directly, “I’m not qualifying it, I think it’s awful.”
David DePape, a Canadian citizen living in the U.S., was sentenced to life in prison in 2024 after attacking Paul Pelosi with a hammer, causing two head wounds and injuries to his right arm and hand.
DePape, who Kirk described in the episode as someone who was “not sane,” admitted to devising a plot to hold then-Democratic House Speaker Nancy Pelosi hostage and “break her kneecaps” if she did not admit to allegedly telling “lies” about the investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 presidential campaign. She was not home at the time of the attack.
Kirk’s comments about “bailing out” DePape were in relation to the concept of disparity within cashless bail policies.
Under cashless bail policies, a suspect who is arrested for a crime is released before a trial without having to pay bail or bond. The fees were put in place to ensure suspects do not flee and incentivize them to make scheduled court appearances.
While many liberal jurisdictions have enacted the policies, critics claim cashless bail puts the public at risk and enables repeat offenders.
“I’m not qualifying [the attack], I think it’s awful,” Kirk said. “It’s not right. But why is it that, in Chicago, you’re able to commit murder and be out the next day? Why is it that you’re able to trespass, second-degree murder, arson, threaten a public official, [and receive] cashless bail? This happens all over San Francisco, but if you go after the Pelosis … you’re [not] let out immediately. Got it.”
CHARLIE KIRK PAINTED AS ‘CONTROVERSIAL,’ ‘PROVOCATIVE’ IN MEDIA’S ASSASSINATION COVERAGE
Kirk went on to question why DePape was still incarcerated in San Francisco, a Democratic stronghold that had cashless bail policies in place at the time of Paul Pelosi’s attack.
Just a few months prior to the assault, San Francisco District Attorney Brooke Jenkins announced her office established a policy that would seek cash bail in certain misdemeanor cases, claiming bail “unfairly penalizes those with less financial means and disproportionately affects defendants of color.”
“Why is the conservative movement to blame for gay, schizophrenic nudists that are hemp jewelry makers, breaking into somebody’s home?” Kirk said while discussing DePape’s ideology. “Why are we to blame for that exactly, and why is he still in jail. Why has he not been bailed out? By the way, if some amazing patriot out there in San Francisco or the Bay Area wants to really be a midterm hero, someone should go and bail this guy out. I bet his bail is like 30[,000] or 40,000 bucks. Bail him out and then go ask him some questions.”

Kirk went on to wish Paul Pelosi a quick recovery and condemned the attack a second time.
“So, look, I wish him the best. I wish him a speedy recovery,” Kirk said. “No one should have to encounter that sort of violence.”
AOC CLAIM: Charlie Kirk “accused Jews of controlling ‘not just the colleges – it’s the nonprofits, it’s the movies, it’s Hollywood, it’s all of it.'”
In an Oct. 26, 2024, episode of the “The Charlie Kirk Show” podcast, Kirk claimed Jewish donors have been the No. 1 funding mechanism of radical, open-border neoliberal quasi-Marxist policies, cultural institutions and nonprofits.
“This is a beast created by secular Jews,” Kirk said. “Now it’s coming for Jews, and they’re like, ‘What on Earth happened?’ It’s not just the colleges. It’s the nonprofits, it’s the movies, it’s Hollywood, it’s all of it.”
Kirk, a longtime supporter of Israel, later argued in a Nov. 16, 2023, episode of “The Charlie Kirk Show,”titled “Elon Musk Smashes the Digital Narratives,” that some Jewish organizations and donors, including the Anti-Defamation League (ADL), helped fund “anti-White” or “cultural Marxist” ideas aligned with the Black Lives Matter movement or Diversity and Equity Inclusion (DEI).

He noted he does not believe all Jewish people are anti-White, specifying that he did “not like generalizations.”
“I don’t like generalizations,” Kirk said in the episode. “Not every Jewish person believes that. But it is true the Anti-Defamation League was part and parcel with Black Lives Matter. It is true that some of the largest financiers of left-wing anti-White causes have been Jewish Americans. They went all in on woke, and it wasn’t just ADL. It was some of the top Jewish organizations in the country that have done that. In fact, we have seen this with the recent retreat of Jewish donations that are no longer going to be administered to colleges.”
Kirk added that, after the October episode, critics labeled him antisemitic, clarifying he was “glad that Jewish Americans are reconsidering their financing of cultural Marxism, and people misunderstood it intentionally and slandered us as being antisemites.”
While “Cultural Marxism” has been used as an antisemitic phrase, commentators have been known to use it without antisemitic intent.
Morrissey cancels two US shows after receiving threats to his safety
Morrissey canceled two shows in the United States after receiving threats on his life.
The 66-year-old musician was scheduled to perform two shows on the East Coast over the weekend, but announced on Instagram he was forced to cancel due to a “credible threat.” He was set to perform at Foxwoods Resort Casino in Mashantucket, Connecticut, Friday night and at MGM Music Hall at Fenway in Boston Saturday.
“In recent days, there has been a credible threat on Morrissey’s life,” the Instagram post read. “Out of an abundance of caution for the safety of both the artist and audience, tonights engagement at Foxwoods has been cancelled. We appreciate your understanding.”
Shortly after announcing the show in Connecticut was canceled, a second post appeared confirming the show in Massachusetts was also canceled. The post promised that “all tickets will be refunded automatically.”
THE WHO’S ROGER DALTREY IS ‘NERVOUS ABOUT MAKING IT TO THE END OF THE TOUR’ AMID HEALTH STRUGGLES
The former Smiths frontman, whose full name is Steven Patrick Morrissey, is in the middle of a world tour. He is scheduled to perform in various cities across the U.S. before taking the tour to Mexico at the end of October.
Fox News Digital reached out to Morrissey’s reps for comment.
News of the cancellation comes after he was threatened in Ottawa, Canada. According to the Ottawa Citizen, a 26-year-old man was arrested earlier this week for allegedly threatening to kill the musician ahead of his performance at the CityFolk music festival in Ottawa.
According to the outlet, the young man posted the threat on social media.
“Steven Patrick Morrissey when you perform at TD Place here in Ottawa next week on the evening of September 12th, 2025 at about 9pm, I will be present at the venue in the audience and I will attempt to shoot you many times and kill you with a very large gun that I own illegally,” he allegedly wrote.

Morrissey went on to perform at the festival as planned.
Many artists have canceled concerts after threats against them or their audiences, including Marilyn Manson, The Chicks and, most recently, Taylor Swift.
Swift canceled three shows in Vienna, Austria, while on the European leg of the Eras Tour in August 2024 after authorities discovered a planned terror attack targeting her concerts.
“We live in a time in which violent means are being used to attack our Western way of life,” Austrian Chancellor Karl Nehammer wrote on X at the time. “Islamist terrorism threatens security and freedom in many Western countries. This is precisely why we will not give up our values such as freedom and democracy, but will defend them even more vehemently.”

In response to the alleged terror plot planned for the concert, Swift took to social media to address her fans, calling the situation “devastating” and saying the reason for the cancellations “filled me with a new sense of fear, and a tremendous amount of guilt.”
“I was heartened by the love and unity I saw in the fans who banded together,” she wrote on Instagram. “I decided that all of my energy had to go toward helping to protect the nearly half a million people I had coming to see the shows in London.
“My team and I worked hand in hand with stadium staff and British authorities every day in pursuit of that goal, and I want to thank them for everything they did for us. Let me be very clear: I am not going to speak about something publicly if I think doing so might provoke those who would want to harm the fans who come to my shows.”

Major labor union breaks with Dems to back Ramaswamy in Ohio governor race
The Ohio Conference of Teamsters has endorsed Vivek Ramaswamy for governor, in a shift from past support of Democrats, his campaign confirmed to Fox News Digital.
The biotech entrepreneur and former 2024 presidential candidate has already earned a handful of union endorsements for the 2026 gubernatorial election, according to the Ohio Dispatch.
His campaign said he had already been endorsed by the Ohio State Association of Plumbers and Pipefitters, the Central Midwest Regional Council of Carpenters, the Cleveland Building & Construction Trades Council and the Northwest Ohio Building & Construction Trades Council.
Interestingly, the Ohio State Association of Plumbers and Pipefitters and the Central Midwest Regional Council of Carpenters have both endorsed Democratic Senate candidate Sherrod Brown.

He has also been endorsed by President Donald Trump and the Ohio Republican Party.
The Ohio Conference of Teamsters, which represents more than 50,000 workers in the state, had previously supported former Ohio Rep. Tim Ryan, who has yet to decide if he’s entering the governor’s race.
Ramaswamy’s campaign told Fox News Digital earlier this month that nearly $220,000 of the contributions raised in his first months as a candidate came from individuals who previously gave to Ryan.
SCOOP: RAMASWAMY PLEDGES TO SPEND AT LEAST $30M OF HIS MONEY IN OHIO’S RACE FOR GOVERNOR
“The Teamsters are proud to endorse Vivek Ramaswamy for Governor of Ohio. Our members want a leader who will fight for good-paying jobs and strengthen the future for Ohio’s working families,” Patrick J. Darrow, president of the Ohio Conference of Teamsters, said. “Vivek has demonstrated a commitment to listening to labor and partnering with us to deliver real results, and we look forward to working with him.”
Ramaswamy said he was “deeply grateful” for the endorsement.
“This isn’t about left vs. right, it’s about up vs. down,” he continued. “We are building a movement that restores dignity to work, rewards those who keep our economy moving, and ensures every Ohioan has a fair shot at the American Dream. Together, we will make Ohio the best place in America to work, raise a family, and pursue a better life for the next generation.”

Carolla defends former ‘Man Show’ co-host amid Kimmel’s talk show suspension
Adam Carolla, who once co-hosted “The Man Show” with outspoken liberal Jimmy Kimmel, reflected on what the indefinite suspension of “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” means for America.
“I think a lot of people want me to comment on it,” Carolla said on Thursday’s episode of his radio show, “The Adam Carolla Show.” “My feeling is this: I don’t think he should have been fired. It’s a weird thing. The right and the left are always sort of misinterpreting things. He was inaccurate about something. It wasn’t like he was necessarily attacking Charlie Kirk. He was trying to dump it on Trump and inaccurate about it.”
Disney announced Wednesday it had pulled Kimmel’s late-night show “indefinitely” after he suggested that Tyler Robinson, the 22-year-old Utah man charged with the assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk, was part of the “MAGA gang,” despite reports he had a left-wing ideology. This was later reaffirmed in details from Tuesday’s indictment.
Kimmel and Carolla rose to fame in the early 2000s as co-hosts of Comedy Central’s sketch comedy series “The Man Show.” The show’s humor thrived on political incorrectness as it touted male stereotypes, famously featured “girls on trampolines” and Kimmel himself repeatedly donned blackface to impersonate celebrities like Oprah Winfrey and NBA star Karl Malone, according to archived Comedy Central clips and resurfaced interviews. He also used the N-word while parodying Snoop Dogg’s music in 1996.
HOLDING ABC’S JIMMY KIMMEL ACCOUNTABLE ISN’T ‘CANCEL CULTURE’ — IT’S BASIC FAIRNESS
Over the last decade, particularly since 2017, Kimmel took a decisively liberal turn in his commentary, ranging from jokes to scathing political monologues. Still, Carolla defended him as his friend, even as he said Kimmel’s statement about Kirk’s assassin was “inaccurate.”
Carolla lamented that a modern part of the media landscape is that when some shocking attack happens, there will be immediate narratives where each side tries to pin the blame on the other.
“I don’t like the government getting involved,” he argued. “And I’ve heard every side of the story. And, in general, I just want people to speak, and then the ratings will do the talking. And then you can support them or not support them.”
Carolla warned listeners about how easy it is for people on either side of the political aisle to view their opposition as shallow “cartoon characters” that are easy to hate.
LATE-NIGHT HOSTS RALLY AROUND KIMMEL FOLLOWING SUSPENSION, ACCUSE TRUMP ADMINISTRATION OF CENSORING HOST
“I know Jimmy to be a very good guy and a generous guy, and I’ve always said that about him. And I realize that while everyone else knows Jimmy as a caricature, I know him as a person,” Carolla continued, explaining that conservative friends will ask him, “‘What’s up with your buddy Jimmy?’
“Well, I know him, so that’s why I don’t think of him like you think of him,” Carolla responded. “But, on the other hand, they think of you as a cartoon character too.”
He laid out how this problem “at a certain point” manifested as “the assassin who thinks of Charlie Kirk as a cartoon character, not a dude. I know him as a guy, sweet guy, fair guy, family guy, good American. But that guy looks at him as a cartoon character.

“I know Jimmy is a human, and I know how good he is. And I know how decent he is, and we disagree politically, but who cares? We disagree on pizza toppings as well, but it doesn’t mean we don’t talk,” Carolla said.
