Oval Office meeting erupts into tense Trump exchange with NBC reporter

President Donald Trump ripped an NBC reporter for questions about the Department of Defense accepting a jumbo jet from Qatar to serve as Air Force One.

“The Pentagon announced that it would be accepting a Qatari jet to be used as Air Force One,” an NBC reporter asked Trump in a news conference during the South African president’s visit Wednesday to the White House.

“What are you talking about? You know, you ought to get out of here,” Trump responded

The question regarding the Qatari jet was asked immediately after Trump directed his staff to lower the lights and show video footage of the treatment of White farmers in South Africa during his meeting with the African nation’s president.

ESPIONAGE, CONSTITUTIONAL CONCERNS ABOUND FROM TRUMP DETRACTORS, ALLIES OVER QATARI JET OFFER

The Trump administration began welcoming white Afrikaners from South Africa to the U.S. in the past week as they face “unjust racial discrimination” in their home country, according to the administration.

“What does this have to do with the Qatari jet?” Trump shot back at the reporter, believed to be NBC News’ Peter Alexander, before slamming NBC News for trying to divert the meeting’s topic from genocide in South Africa

“They’re giving the United States Air Force a jet. OK? And it’s a great thing. We’re talking about a lot of other things. It’s NBC trying to get off the subject of what you just saw,” Trump said. “You are a real … you know, you’re a terrible reporter. No. 1, you don’t have what it takes to be a reporter. You’re not smart enough. But for you to go into a subject about a jet that was given to the United States Air Force, which is a very nice thing.

“They also gave $5.1 trillion worth of investment in addition to the jet. Go back, you ought to go back to your studio at NBC because Brian Roberts and the people that run that place, they ought to be investigated. They are so terrible the way you run that network. And you are a disgrace. No more questions from you,” Trump continued.

“His name is Peter something. He’s a terrible reporter,” Trump added as he began calling on other reporters for questions.

FLASHBACK: DEM CRITICAL OF TRUMP’S QATARI JET GIFT RODE CAMEL IN EXPENSES-PAID 2021 TRIP TO GULF EMIRATE

Fox News Digital reached out to NBC News for comment on the matter but did not immediately receive a reply.

Fox News confirmed earlier Wednesday that the Department of Defense had formally accepted a 747 jetliner from Qatar.

Both Democrats and Republicans have criticized Trump after he announced the Department of Defense planned to accept a jumbo jet from the government of Qatar earlier in May, arguing the gift is riddled with both espionage concerns and constitutional questions.

HOUSE DEMOCRAT CALLS FOR ‘IMMEDIATE’ ETHICS PROBE OF QATARI PLANE GIFT TO TRUMP

At the heart of Democrats’ concern over the matter is the emoluments clause in the Constitution, which states, “No Title of Nobility shall be granted by the United States: And no Person holding any Office of Profit or Trust under them, shall, without the Consent of the Congress, accept of any present, Emolument, Office, or Title, of any kind whatever, from any King, Prince, or foreign State.”

It’s questionable if the emoluments clause even applies to the president, however, because the Constitution typically stipulates when a clause specifically affects a president and cites the title, such as in the impeachment clause, Hans von Spakovsky, senior legal fellow at the Heritage Foundation’s Edwin Meese III Center for Legal and Judicial Studies, previously told Fox News Digital.

TRUMP CLARIFIES OWNERSHIP OF AIRCRAFT IN DEFENSE OF QATAR’S GIFT

“The clause was specifically inserted because of concerns by the founders at the Constitutional Convention over corruption of our foreign diplomats, especially by the French government,” von Spakovsky explained.

“It is questionable whether the emoluments clause even applies to the president since he is not named, and the Constitution usually names the president when a provision applies to him. That is why the impeachment clause specifically provides that it applies to the ‘president, vice president and all civil officers of the United States.’ If ‘officers’ of the U.S. included the president, there would be no need for him to be separately listed.”

Von Spakovsky said if the plane is a government-to-government gift — meaning if Qatar gave the plane to the Department of Defense and not as a personal gift to the president — the Trump administration is likely in the legal clear to accept the gift.

“If this gift is being considered as a gift to the government of the U.S., there is no legal issue to consider, since there is no constitutional or legal problem with such a gift. If this is a personal gift to the president, the Justice Department would be weighing the constitutional issue I have raised — whether the emoluments clause even applies to the president,” he said.

TRUMP DEFENDS QATAR JUMBO JET OFFER AS TROUBLED BOEING FAILS TO DELIVER NEW AIR FORCE ONE FLEET

Trump and his administration have previously and repeatedly said the jet would be given to the Department of Defense and used as a temporary Air Force One because Boeing has not yet delivered a new fleet of Air Force One aircraft.

“We’re very disappointed that it’s taking Boeing so long to build a new Air Force One,” Trump said during a press conference on drug prices Monday morning. “You know, we have an Air Force One that’s 40 years old. And if you take a look at that, compared to the new plane of the equivalent, you know, stature at the time, it’s not even the same ballgame.

“When I first came in, I signed an order to get (the new Air Force One fleet) built,” he added. “I took it over from the Obama administration, they had originally agreed. I got the price down much lower. And then, when the election didn’t exactly work out the way that it should have, a lot of work was not done on the plane because a lot of people didn’t know they made change orders. That was so stupid, so ridiculous. And it ended up being a total mess, a real mess.”

Disney workers face job termination after court’s immigration decision

The Walt Disney Company has put dozens of Florida-based Venezuelan employees on unpaid leave as they face the possibility of losing Temporary Protected Status (TPS) as soon as next month, according to reports.

Bloomberg reported that Disney notified the employees on Tuesday that their jobs will be terminated next month because of a ruling from the Supreme Court that allows the Trump administration to revoke protections in the U.S. for some 350,000 Venezuelans.

The workers were reportedly told they were being placed on 30-day unpaid leave beginning May 20.

If any of the employees are not able to provide the company with new work authorization by the end of the 30 days, Disney reportedly told them they will be fired.

SPIRIT OF SERVICE LIVES ON 70 YEARS AFTER VETERANS BUILT ORIGINAL DISNEY PARK

A Disney spokesperson told FOX Business that about 45 cast members were placed on leave.

“As we sort out the complexities of this situation, we have placed affected employees on leave with benefits to ensure they are not in violation of the law,” the spokesperson said in an email. “We are committed to protecting the health, safety, and well-being of all our employees who may be navigating changing immigration policies and how they could impact them or their families.”

The move comes after the Supreme Court agreed on Monday to lift a lower court injunction that blocked President Donald Trump’s decision to terminate the protected legal status of hundreds of thousands of migrants living in the U.S.

The decision clears the way for the Trump administration to move forward with plans to terminate Biden administration-era TPS protections for hundreds of thousands of Venezuelan migrants living in the U.S. It also allows the administration to move forward with plans to immediately remove those migrants, which lawyers for the administration argued they should be able to do.

The protections were extended during the end of the Biden administration, shortly before Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem in February terminated the program for a specific group of Venezuelan nationals, arguing they were not in the national interest.

In March, U.S. District Judge Edward Chen of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California agreed to keep the protections in place, siding with plaintiffs from the National TPS Alliance in ruling that the termination of the TPS program, which is extended in 18-month increments, is “unprecedented” and suggested that the abrupt termination may have been “predicated on negative stereotypes” about Venezuelan migrants.

TPS was established in the 1990s, and it allows the government to designate countries unsafe for nationals to return to, granting nationals already in the U.S. work permits and protection from deportation if they are here illegally or if their legal status expires.

In 2021, the Biden administration offered temporary legal status under TPS to Venezuelans who illegally entered the U.S. after fleeing the nation’s economic crisis.

Prior to the Biden administration’s move, Trump imposed severe sanctions on Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro’s regime but resisted bipartisan calls to grant a TPS designation for Venezuelans during Trump’s first term in office. In January 2021, Trump enacted the Deferred Enforced Departure program to protect some Venezuelan nationals from deportation for an 18-month period.

FOX News’ Doocy shares videos challenging former President Biden’s mental fitness

Fox News’ Peter Doocy has some unique insight on former President Joe Biden as questions continue to persist about whether there was a coverup to hide his declining mental state while serving as commander-in-chief.

Doocy, a senior White House correspondent, posted multiple videos to X on Wednesday showing him questioning Biden and the White House about the then-president’s cognitive decline.

“I have some unique insight on President Biden, having dedicated six years of my life to covering him,” he wrote. “If you are wondering why nobody asked about his mental fitness, and why nobody asked if White House staffers were covering up his decline… then you weren’t paying attention.”

WASHINGTON POST URGES CONGRESS TO ACT TO PREVENT ANOTHER COVER-UP OF PRESIDENT’S HEALTH AMID BIDEN REVELATIONS

In one video, Doocy is seen questioning Biden about Special Counsel Robert Hur’s report that concluded that one of the reasons Biden wasn’t charged for his handling of classified Obama-era documents found in his former office and at home was because he was a “well-meaning, elderly man with a poor memory.”

“I’m well-meaning and I’m an elderly man and I know what the hell I’m doing. I put this country back on its feet. I don’t need his recommendation,” Biden replied.

Doocy then asked how bad Biden’s memory was and would he be able to continue to serve as president.

“My memory is so bad, I let you speak,” Biden shot back.

Much of the media has been criticized for its reluctance to question Biden or the White House about his health concerns. The former president’s health is once again in the headlines after CNN anchor Jake Tapper and Axios correspondent Alex Thompson’s new book, “Original Sin: President Biden’s Decline, Its Cover-Up, and His Disastrous Choice to Run Again,” was released on Tuesday.

The book alleges that Biden’s inner circle concealed his cognitive decline for years and was released just days after news broke that Biden had been diagnosed with advanced prostate cancer.

In one instance, during a news briefing, Doocy questioned then-White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre about a campaign event in which Biden was present.

“At a fundraiser this week, President Biden told donors about how Charlottesville inspired his campaign, and according to the pool, a few mins later he told the story again nearly word for word. What’s up with that?”

CBS NEWS REPORTER SAYS WSJ’S ‘COURAGEOUS’ 2024 REPORT ON BIDEN’S DECLINE SHOULD HAVE WON THE PULITZER

“What I can tell you is, and I’m going to be careful not to talk about it because this was a campaign event,… the president was making very clear why he decided to run in 2019,” Jean-Pierre responded.

In another briefing, Jean-Pierre said Biden was making a “light-hearted joke” and “speaking off the cuff” when she was asked by Doocy about Biden’s remarks that his “health is fine. It’s just his brain.”

In another video, Jean-Pierre was asked about Biden’s gaffe when he appeared to mix up French President Emmanuel Macron with François Mitterrand, the former president of France who died in 1996.

“How is President Biden ever going to convince the three-quarters of voters who are worried about his physical and mental health that he’s OK even though in Las Vegas he told a story about recently talking to a French president who died in 1996?”

WALL STREET JOURNAL CALLS OUT TAPPER FOR SNEERING AT PAPER’S STORY ABOUT BIDEN’S DECLINE

“I’m not even going to go down that rabbit hole with you,” she replied.

Doocy also asked if Biden had been tested for Parkinson’s Disease or dementia following his disastrous debate performance against then-candidate Donald Trump.

“What we shared with you was comprehensive, but he’s had a full physical. We’ve shown the results of those this past three years,” Jean-Pierre said. “We showed it just four months ago, and it is in line with what we have done, similar to President Obama, similar to George W. Bush. We are committed to continue to be transparent. We are committed to continue to show the results of those physicals, and look, it’s the president’s medical team that makes a decision.”

In another briefing, Jean-Pierre was questioned about why Biden was treated by White House staffers “like a baby.”

Teen girl shares agony of losing 1st-place long jump title to biological male

A high school track meet in Southern California became the latest flashpoint in the state’s ongoing conflict with President Donald Trump’s administration over trans athletes in girls’ sports. There, multiple girls’ competitors fell shy of first place to a biologically male trans athlete.

The California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) Southern Section Final on Saturday saw the trans athlete take first place in the triple jump and long jump. The second-place finisher in the long jump was Katie McGuinness of La Canada High School.

McGuinness recounted the experience of losing to the trans athlete in an interview on Fox News’ “America Reports.”

“I remember thinking to myself, ‘OK, I need to get a big jump,’” McGuinness said.

“I ran down the runway and I landed and I watched them measure my mark, and it was 18.9,” she said. “And I just remember thinking that there was nothing else that I could do. That was it. And I was honestly very discouraged, and I’m a high school senior and winning CIF has always been a goal of mine, and I wasn’t able to compete with someone who was genetically different than me.”

McGuinness made her overall stance on the issue clear.

“There are just certain genetic advantages that biological males have that biological girls don’t,” she said. “Frankly, I just can’t stand for that.”

The second-place finisher to the trans athlete in triple jump, Reese Hogan of Crean Lutheran High School, made it a point to stand on the first-place podium spot for a quick and symbolic photo op. Footage of Hogan taking the top podium spot after the trans athlete stepped off went viral on social media over the weekend.

Hogan had just competed against the trans athlete in the prelims a week earlier. At that event, Hogan also came in behind the trans athlete in the triple jump, finishing third, and would have placed one spot higher were it not for the trans athlete. But Hogan did finish ahead of the trans athlete in the high jump.

“It’s just kind of sad just watching. He’s obviously a really talented athlete, we’ve all seen him jump and stuff, and I wish him the best of luck, but in a boys’ division,” Hogan previously told Fox News Digital about competing against the athlete. “It’s pretty obvious the certain advantages that he has, and it’s obviously just sad as a woman to watch that.”

TEEN GIRLS OPEN UP ON TRANS-ATHLETE SCANDAL THAT TURNED THEIR HIGH SCHOOL INTO CULTURE WAR BATTLEGROUND

Hogan also spoke at a press conference to protest the trans athlete at the prelims and wore a shirt that read, “Protect Girls Sports.”

“It was nothing against the athlete itself, it was just an issue of fairness,” Hogan previously said. “Nothing that we can do, no amount of training, no amount of hours that we put in, we could never achieve the same amount of advantages that a man can have.”

The CIF track and field postseason has been overshadowed by the controversy involving the trans athlete, garnering national scrutiny against the CIF and California Gov. Gavin Newsom. A U.S. Department of Education spokesperson sent a warning to the state in the days leading up to the CIF Southern Section final, referencing previous reports that CIF officials made competitors remove their Protect Girls Sports shirts.

“CIF’s and Jurupa Valley High School’s apparent flouting of federal civil rights law by allowing a male athlete to compete in a female California track and field [Southern Sectional Division 3 final] this Saturday, and the alleged retaliation against the girls who are protesting this, is indefensible,” Julie Hartman, a Department of Education spokesperson, told Fox News Digital.

The CIF is already under a federal Title IX investigation over the state’s trans-inclusion practices. The U.S. Department of Education launched an investigation against CIF in February after President Donald Trump signed the Keeping Men Out of Women’s Sports executive order. The CIF was one of the first high school sports leagues in the country to announce it would defy the order.

Newsom, in a February episode of his podcast, said he believes trans athletes competing in girls’ sports is “deeply unfair” but has not taken any steps as governor to change the state’s policies. The state has had a law in place that allows trans athletes to compete with females since 2014.

“California Gov. Gavin Newsom, who, in a startling moment of moral clarity, recently remarked that it was ‘deeply unfair’ for men to compete in women’s sports,” Hartman continued. “Where is Gov. Newsom now? With or without the governor, the Trump administration’s Department of Education’s commitment is unwavering: We will not allow institutions to trample upon women’s civil rights. OCR’s (Office of Civil Rights) investigation into CIF continues with vigor.”

The trans athlete represents Jurupa Valley High School. The Jurupa Unified School District provided a statement to Fox News Digital in response to the Department of Education’s statement.

“JUSD continues to follow both California law and CIF policy regarding school athletics. Both state law and CIF policy currently require that students be permitted to participate in athletic teams and competitions consistent with their gender identity, irrespective of the gender listed on the pupil’s records. JUSD remains committed to protecting the rights and safety of the students we serve, in accordance with applicable state and federal laws,” the statement reads.

Longtime Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay dead at 65, team announces

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!

Longtime Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay has died at the age of 65, the team announced Wednesday.

Irsay’s father purchased the team in 1972, when they still played in Baltimore, for $12 million and moved the team in 1984.

Irsay was the general manager of the team from 1982 to 1996 and became the NFL’s youngest owner at age 37, shortly after his dad’s death in 1997.

Irsay had several health issues over the years and battled drug and alcohol addiction, once admitting he had been to rehab “at least 15 times.”

The Colts announced in January 2024 that Irsay was being treated for a “severe respiratory illness.” That February, he posted on X, formerly Twitter, that he was “on the mend.”

“It’s a long road and you have to be patient. The great news is everything is going well,” a hospitalized Irsay said that March after he underwent a procedure on his right leg.

Irsay said by that point he had undergone “26 surgeries over the last seven years.”

In December 2023, police were called to Irsay’s home around 4:30 a.m. and found him in bed unresponsive and cold during what authorities called a “suspected overdose.”

“It wasn’t an overdose,” Irsay told Fox 59 in Indianapolis

“I don’t know why, when you have your name in the paper in the past, people throw that out there quickly. I don’t pay attention to it all that much, but I don’t think it’s fair.”

Irsay was arrested in 2014 and pleaded guilty to operating while intoxicated (OWI), which led to a six-game suspension and a $500,000 fine from the NFL. He said his arrest was partly due to being a White billionaire.

Irsay took ownership of the Colts in 1995 following a legal battle after the death of his father. Since then, the Colts had massive success with Peyton Manning as their quarterback, but they have been in flux since Manning left the team and Andrew Luck abruptly retired.

Over his tenure running the day-to-day operations of the organization, Irsay won 258 games, the fourth-most in the NFL in that span. He also won 10 division titles, went 1-1 in Super Bowls and made the playoffs 18 times.

‘The Boss’ releases anti-Trump concert EP after rant against administration

Singer-songwriter Bruce Springsteen continued his criticism of President Donald Trump Wednesday by releasing a six-track digital extended play (EP) that included his political rants while performing in Manchester, United Kingdom, last week.

“The Boss” included four songs on the 31-minute EP, “Land of Hope & Dreams.” The songs included “Land of Hope and Dreams,” “Long Walk Home,” “My City of Ruins” and “Chimes of Freedom.”

All four songs were recorded live May 14, 2025, when Springsteen publicly lambasted Trump.

During his intro to “Land of Hope and Dreams,” Springsteen said it was great to be back in Manchester, calling on the “righteous power of art, of music, of rock and roll, in dangerous times.”

KID ROCK CALLS OUT BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN’S ANTI-TRUMP RANT ON EUROPEAN TOUR, SAYS IT WAS A ‘PUNK MOVE’

“In my home, the America I love, the America I’ve written about, that has been a beacon of hope and liberty for 250 years, is currently in the hands of a corrupt, incompetent and treasonous administration,” he said. “Tonight, we ask all who believe in democracy and the best of our American experience to rise with us, raise your voices against authoritarianism and let freedom ring.”

Springsteen went on another political rant against Trump and the U.S. government before the E Street Band kicked into the song “My City of Ruins.”

“There’s some very weird, strange and dangerous s— going on out there right now,” Springsteen told the British crowd. “In America, they are persecuting people for using their right to free speech and voicing their dissent. This is happening now. In America, the richest men are taking satisfaction and abandoning the world’s poorest children to sickness and death.

TRUMP CALLS SPRINGSTEEN ‘HIGHLY OVERRATED’ AFTER ROCKER LABELS HIM ‘TREASONOUS’ OVERSEAS

“This is happening now,” he added. “In my country, they’re taking sadistic pleasure in the pain that they inflict on loyal American workers. They’re rolling back historic civil rights legislation that led to a more just and plural society. They’re abandoning our great allies and siding with dictators against those struggling for their freedom.”

Springsteen also accused the government of defunding American universities that “won’t bow down to their ideological demands.”

“They’re removing residents off American streets and, without due process of law, are deporting them to foreign detention centers and prisons,” he said. “This is all happening now. A majority of our elected representatives have failed to protect the American people from the abuses of an unfit president and a rogue government. They have no concern or idea of what it means to be deeply American.

“The America that I’ve sung to you about for 50 years is real and, regardless of its faults, is a great country with a great people,” Springsteen added. “So, we’ll survive this moment.”

The crowd responded with applause when Springsteen continued to pontificate his stance on the current administration.

The comments went viral last week, and Trump responded by slamming Springsteen and calling him “highly overrated” Friday.

The Bill Belichick-Jordon Hudson saga has added a reality show-like episode.

According to multiple reports, Belichick’s ex-girlfriend, Linda Holliday, confronted his current girlfriend, Hudson, at a function in Nantucket, Massachusetts, in December.

Holliday and Hudson both attended the Dreamland Stroll Party Dec. 6. Holliday’s daughters, Ashley and Kat Hess, were DJing the party.

Holliday, according to People, got “aggressive” with Hudson, and the two reportedly shared an intense moment.

“Ms. Hudson was a paying guest. No concerns had been raised regarding her behavior nor had any issues been reported up until that point in the evening (the event began at 7pm),” a staffer wrote in an incident report obtained by TMZ

“Ms. Holliday felt her presence was inappropriate, since the event was widely advertised as a party headlined by her daughters. She asked that I remove Ms. Hudson from the premises, to which I responded that I would speak with Ms. Hudson after contacting Dreamland executive director Alicia Carney to discuss the matter.”

“It was very uncomfortable. There was a lot being exchanged between them. It was very aggressive behavior,” a source familiar with the situation told People.

“Jordon never approached anyone, but she was approached the entire night, with people asking, ‘Oh, why are you here?'”

Security footage then showed Holliday confronting Hudson in the middle of the dance floor, surrounded by roughly 200 people.

“I asked Ms. Hudson if she thought it was a good idea to be there considering the clear animosity the above individuals felt towards her,” the staffer wrote. “She defended herself by saying she’d done nothing wrong, and it was her first time attending Christmas Stroll and wanted to attend the ‘big party’ going on that night, which happened to be the one featuring the Hess Twins.

“She said she was not looking to cause any problems, but just wanted to go out and have fun with her friend.”

Holliday was apparently irked because it “involve[d] my girls,” and her “momma bear” emerged.

Holliday also reportedly told 2024 Miss Massachusetts USA winner Melissa Sapini to “think twice about who her friends are” if she “valued her current title.” Sapini then reportedly cried, and Holliday claimed she “had many powerful friends in the pageant organization.”

Neither Holliday, Hudson nor the Nantucket Dreamland organization immediately responded to requests for comment.

Hudson and Sapini were eventually escorted out by that staffer shortly before the lights came on at the party, TMZ reported.

Protesters flood Capitol Hill building over Medicaid cuts in Trump-backed bill

Protesters affiliated with several leftist groups, including the People’s Action Institute, flooded a Capitol Hill office building in Washington on Wednesday as the House prepared to vote on the “big, beautiful” budget bill backed by President Donald Trump.

Capitol Police have responded to several protests over Medicaid cuts that disrupted activities in Capitol office buildings over the last several weeks.

On Wednesday, protesters affiliated with the People’s Action Institute shut down a hallway in the Longworth House Office Building as part of a protest against cuts to Medicaid in the budget bill.

In a video obtained by Fox News Digital, protesters could be seen blocking a hallway and shouting, “We got the power,” while raising their fists. Many protesters held signs reading “Medicaid Cuts Kill.”

TRUMP SAYS GOP IS UNIFIED AS HE DELIVERS ‘PEP TALK’ FOR ‘BIG, BEAUTIFUL BILL’

Capitol Police quickly cleared the protesters from the building; there appeared to be no arrests.

Democrats have been shining a spotlight on portions of the budget bill that restructure Medicaid, the nearly 60-year-old federal government program that provides health insurance for roughly 71 million adults and children with limited income.

The cuts to Medicaid, being drafted in part as an offset to pay for extending Trump’s 2017 tax cut law that is set to expire this year, include a slew of new rules and regulatory requirements for those seeking coverage. Among them are a new set of work requirements for many of those seeking coverage.

Wednesday’s protest was not the only one that has disrupted activity in the Capitol office buildings this month. Fox News Digital reported on Medicaid protesters disrupting a budget markup by the House Committee on Energy and Commerce on May 13.

Video taken by Fox News Digital of the protests showed Capitol Police attempting to gain control of the situation, shouting repeatedly, “If you’re not getting arrested, then go!”

HOUSE GOP UNVEILS MEDICAID WORK REQUIREMENTS IN TRUMP’S ‘BIG, BEAUTIFUL BILL’

The video also shows a woman in a wheelchair being removed from the committee chamber while screaming, “They want to kill the disabled, they want to kill the sick, they want to kill the veterans who have fought for us.”

Amid the chaos, Sen. Cory Booker, D-N.J., spurred on the crowds, saying, “Keep fighting, stay strong, we’re not going to let them take away healthcare. You are leading the way. Thank you very much.”

In response to criticism about disrupting activity in the congressional office buildings, Unai Montes-Irueste, a spokesperson for the People’s Action Institute, told Fox News Digital that “Medicaid cuts kill. Nothing is more disruptive than death.”

Montes-Irueste said “there is no congressional district in the country that supports ripping healthcare coverage away from Medicaid recipients so that Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos and Mark Zuckerberg can buy new yachts.”

Despite the accusations that Republicans want to cut Medicaid, Rep. Hudson said that “Democrats are lying to protect a broken status quo that lets illegal immigrants siphon off billions meant for American families. We’re strengthening Medicaid for future generations by protecting taxpayers and restoring integrity.”

The House of Representatives is expected to vote on the budget bill sometime between Wednesday night and Thursday morning, the timing dependent on passage of a rules resolution from the House Rules Committee.

Louisiana Dems call for Orleans Parish Sheriff to resign after jailbreak

Two Democratic lawmakers in Louisiana called on Orleans Parish Sheriff Susan Hutson to resign following the escape of 10 jail inmates.

Louisiana House Rep. Aimee Adatto Freeman, who represents a portion of New Orleans, called for Hutson to resign on Monday. In a Facebook post, Freeman said the escape of 10 inmates represents an “alarming failure of leadership.” Law enforcement officials have arrested five escapees after they broke out of the Orleans Justice Center on Friday

“Susan Hutson’s most fundamental responsibility is to keep inmates in custody – and she failed. Rather than take accountability, she’s pointed fingers elsewhere,” Freeman said. “She’s also blamed a lack of funding, despite her office holding $14 million in reserve. Furthermore, I’ve been working this legislative session to secure state funding for the Sheriff’s Office for domestic violence programs. If she needed additional resources to ensure security, she could have simply asked.”

“I would have fought for it. Blaming funding is a deflection – not an excuse,” she added. “Leadership matters, and right now, the people of New Orleans deserve better. Sheriff Hutson should resign.”

NEW BOOKING PHOTOS RELEASED OF RECAPTURED LOUISIANA INMATES AS MANHUNT CONTINUES

State Rep. Jason Hughes, who represents a portion of New Orleans, also called for Hutson to resign, according to the Louisiana Radio Network.

“How 10 people can escape a jail is perplexing to me. But at the end of the day, this is a public safety issue, and it boils down to leadership,” Hughes said.

Hutson took “full accountability” for the jailbreak in a statement given to the New Orleans City Council on Tuesday.

“It is deeply troubling to me as your sheriff, and I know it is equally troubling to you and the public that we are sworn to protect. As your sheriff, I take full accountability for this failure, and it is my responsibility to make sure it is addressed with urgency and transparency,” she told the council. “Since the moment this breach was discovered, we have been clear.
