Ex-Obama aide admits hiding Biden health concerns to help him ‘f—— win’

Ex-Obama aide and “Pod Save America” co-host Jon Lovett admitted on Jon Stewart’s “The Weekly Show” podcast that he withheld his concerns about President Joe Biden’s physical decline during the 2024 campaign.

Lovett told Stewart and his fellow “Pod Save America” host Jon Favreau that he didn’t want to publicly voice his concern over Biden’s declining health because he wanted him “to f—— win.”

“I remember feeling I want to talk about this as a huge liability. To talk about this is something Joe Biden can overcome, but I’m not going to go so far as to say, ‘I think Joe Biden must drop out. He is too old to be president,’” Lovett said on the podcast. “A, because I didn’t know exactly what was going on behind the scenes, but B, if Joe Biden is the candidate, I want him to f—— win.”

JON STEWART, ‘POD SAVE AMERICA’ QUESTION BIDEN’S HEALTH IN WAKE OF ‘ORIGINAL SIN’ BOOK

Lovett said he was worried that expressing his concerns would be weaponized against Biden by political opponents.

He claimed he kept his concerns to himself to avoid “having the words we’re saying taken out of context and all of a sudden be part of the case against Joe Biden from the right — that would use any person criticizing Joe Biden from the left as a weapon against him.”

“So it was about being honest about Joe Biden’s age as a liability while knowing that if he is the nominee, I want to be clear that I thought it was important to make sure we did everything we could to reelect him,” Lovett claimed.

CNN’s Jake Tapper and Axios’s Alex Thompson have recently drawn attention to Biden’s health while promoting their new book, “Original Sin,” which covered the former president’s decline and the alleged cover-up by his administration to keep it under wraps.

Lovett is featured in “Original Sin” in an anecdote where he and his “Pod Save America” co-hosts Jon Favreau and Dan Pfeiffer met with Biden at the White House on April 26, 2024. The book described them as “deeply disturbed” after their discussions with Biden that night, with the authors describing the president as rambling and “incoherent.”

Police chief laments loss of life after release of bodycam footage of deadly traffic stop

Officials released bodycam footage showing the chaotic moments leading up to a deadly officer-involved shooting in Fairfax, Virginia, in April. In a press release accompanying the footage, the Fairfax County Police Department (FCPD) called the incident an “attempted murder.”

On April 23, an officer pulled over 36-year-old Jamal Wali for speeding. Wali also had an expired safety inspection sticker. When he was pulled over, Wali slammed on the brakes, something the officer who initially approached Wali’s vehicle noted.

Wali then informed the officer he was armed and asked why he was being pulled over. From there, the situation took a chaotic turn as a clearly distressed Wali began shouting, cursing, refusing to give his name and saying he had no driver’s license or registration for the vehicle.

CALIFORNIA OFFICER’S GUN STOLEN BY HALF-NAKED SUSPECT WHO WAS LATER SHOT DEAD BY ANOTHER OFFICER: BODYCAM

As the officer tried to deescalate the situation, Wali launched into profanity-laced complaints about how he had been treated in the country and said he came to the U.S. after serving as a translator for American forces in Afghanistan.

“I should have served with f—ing Taliban,” Wali yelled at the officer.

Wali eventually took out a GoPro-like camera and began recording the traffic stop. Police later obtained this footage and included it in the bodycam video released to the public Friday.

Two other FCPD officers arrived to assist the officer who initiated the traffic stop, with one standing on the driver’s side and the other on the passenger’s side. Wali eventually reached for his weapon and fired at the two officers on the driver’s side. According to FCPD Chief Kevin Davis, one bullet went through arms of both officers before hitting a parked car across the street, shattering its rear window.

Wali was shot and taken to a hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

BODYCAM FOOTAGE SHOWS MOMENT FLORIDA OFFICERS’ ATTEMPT TO RESTRAIN SUSPECT GOES HORRIBLY WRONG

“It’s always regrettable when a life is lost. It is regrettable that Mr. Wali is no longer with us,” Davis said at a news conference announcing the release of the footage. He confirmed that Wali was married with four children as he had claimed during his tense interaction with the officer.

The chief said “the impact on those children is unimaginable, and they’ll carry that with them the rest of their lives, so we take that very seriously.”

Davis credited the officer on the passenger’s side with saving the lives of the other responding officers.

“We also realize in this particular scenario that we’re very fortunate that we didn’t have two police funerals because it was just by — or thanks to, rather — some strategic thinking, actions by our police officer who you see on the passenger’s side of the car. His actions, his deployment of that deadly force, saved the lives of the two officers that were on the driver’s side of the car. There’s no doubt about that,” Davis told reporters.

FCPD said in a press release that Officer Ian Lachapelle, who fired his gun, was placed on restricted duty status as the investigation of the incident continues.

Miley Cyrus was hospitalized after filming music video on Hollywood Walk of Fame

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!

Miley Cyrus recently detailed how a glamorous music video shoot on the Hollywood Walk of Fame led her to the hospital.

Cyrus, 32, recalled the moment she filmed her “Something Beautiful” visual album and then landed in the ICU.

“I filmed this video in October [2024] by November at Thanksgiving, I was put in the ICU for a moment — just for a moment,” Cyrus said Thursday on “Jimmy Kimmel Live.”

The “Wrecking Ball” singer shared she had been rolling around on the Hollywood Walk of Fame for her music video.

“I caught something,” she remarked. “My leg began to disintegrate… around the kneecap area. And then the doctor goes, ‘Do you have any idea why you would have such a brutal infection on your kneecap?”

Cyrus pointed out the fact that her doctor had probably seen the worst in a hospital. However, she said the surgeon was completely grossed out by her infection.

“I had to tell him,” she said. “To have a surgeon look at you and say, ‘Yuck…’ They open up cadavers. They see inside the guts of humans and they’re looking at me, telling me I’m disgusting. And they do brain operations!”

She continued to explain how she shot her music video on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in the middle of the night to avoid paying costly rental fees.

“I had a big dream and a small budget. Well, I had a pretty good budget, but I spent it all on my clothes,” Cyrus laughed.

“Have you been to the Walk of Fame in the middle of the night?” she quipped. “I thought it was my last day.”

The former Disney star’s comments come after she revealed another health scare she experienced earlier this year.

While recording the “Miley’s New Year’s Eve Party,” which she co-hosted with Dolly Parton, Cyrus said she suffered an ovarian cyst rupture.

New mother marathoner faces threats after trans Olympic athlete’s TikTok attack

On April 19, U.S. Olympic middle distance runner Nikki Hiltz posted a TikTok video that included footage of an interview with women’s marathon runner Natalie Daniels. The post came just two days before Daniels was set to compete in the Boston Marathon, and just six months after she gave birth to her first child.

Hiltz’s TikTok opened with a clip of Daniels sharing how she considered not competing in the marathon because biologically male trans athletes would be competing in the women’s field. The clip was originally from a promotional interview with the activist sportswear brand XX-XY Athletics.

In the same post on the popular social media platform, Hiltz encouraged Daniels to drop out because of her concerns about trans inclusion, while disagreeing with the new mother’s stance against it.

For Hiltz, the post was in line with the athlete’s regular TikTok content, which often shows the Olympian promoting pro-transgender beliefs and arguing against opposition to trans inclusion in sports. Hiltz is a biologically female athlete who competes in the women’s category, while identifying as transgender and non-binary.

Soon after Hiltz’s TikTok post went live, the reaction from it was aimed at Daniels, who said many of Hiltz’s followers and fans began to send her startling messages.

“I didn’t think there would be this rabid cruelty,” Daniels told Fox News Digital of the response she received from the interview. “People were trying to find us when we were in Boston.”

Daniels alleges one person told her, “‘I live in Boston, and if I see you on the street, I’m going to hunt you down.'”

CALIFORNIA GIRLS’ TRACK ATHLETE OPENS UP ON LOSING 1ST-PLACE TITLE TO TRANS COMPETITOR

The new mother said the worst alleged comment she saw was from a person who said, “‘I hope that your son comes out as trans and never speaks to you again.'” Her son was only six months old at the time.

Daniels said she ultimately takes responsibility for the messages directed towards her and her family. Still, she cited Hiltz’s TikTok for contributing to the backlash.

“[Hiltz] has freedom of speech also. So [Hiltz’s] opinion is just as valid to be shared as mine is,” Daniels said. “I think [Hiltz] encouraged a pile-on that got really out of hand, probably, I think, very quickly … I think the fact that [Hiltz] didn’t do anything about it is unsurprising.

“I think I’m ultimately responsible for what I said. And I know that what I said was said out of love and a desire to continue supporting and encouraging women and women’s sports.”

Still, it didn’t make the experience any easier for Daniels.

“The very hateful messages were upsetting. There were a few times where I would just be, I don’t want to cry, but a few times I would just start crying,” she said. “And I would tell my husband, ‘I’m sorry, it’s just like a lot, it’s a lot to deal with, to have people being like ‘You’re this evil hateful bigot,’ or ‘You’re stupid.'”

“Instead of having this very rational engagement, they went straight to threats and violence.”

Fox News Digital reached out to Hiltz’s talent agency, Hawi Management, for a response.

When the day of the Boston Marathon came, April 21, Daniels was prepared for potential attacks and heckling against her on the course after getting messages warning her of it, she alleges. But instead, she only ever heard roaring chants of support, she claims. She even had one of her best finishes, reaching the finish line in 2:50:04 in 110th place.

The love continued on social media, as she saw an outpouring of praise and respect that eventually overshadowed the support she was getting for standing up for women’s sports and appearing in the XX-XY Athletics interview to begin with.

For Daniels, it helped validate a decision that she made, partially due to the experience of becoming a new mother. Daniels said that during her pregnancy, a trip to an obstetrician included a survey that assumed the only reason she was pregnant was due to failed birth control, and not her own intentions.

“In society, I just feel like there is this reductive definition of what it means to be a woman, and what it means to be a woman is basically one thing, and it’s access to abortion. And in our culture, that just kinda seems like that’s all any of us are supposed to care about,” Daniels, a native of Virginia, said. She added that the survey, and the growing cultural stigmatization of pregnancy, fed right into her passion for protecting female athletes from trans inclusion as well.

“I know those things may be different things, but it all ties into this dehumanization of women. To me it feels like in this culture, in this political climate, womanhood is this incredibly nebulous, undefinable thing,” she added.

The decision earned Daniels praise and support during the marathon and online but not from her running club, Light Horse Track Club in Washington, D.C., which she alleges was more aligned with Hiltz than her.

Daniels said she was confronted by the decision to appear in the XX-XY Athletics interview by the club’s leadership.

Daniels said she offered to make a statement clarifying that her stance wasn’t meant to attack trans people for their identities, but to stand up for women like herself. But that wasn’t going to be enough, she said.

She alleges they offered to let her continue running for the club if she would issue an apology and publicly recognize the ability for a biological male to become a woman, which she refused to do.

Daniels alleges that she was told by the club that in order to appease its directors, she had to share a statement on social media that read: “‘I now understand that a person can take hormones and surgery, and they can become a woman.'”

“I was like, ‘I am not going to do that. I cannot do that…’ It goes completely against my Christian values,” she said. “It goes completely against what I know about how God works.”

Daniels said she then found out about her removal from the team via a text message and email from the board while she was sitting on her patio.

So now, she is starting her own running club with XX-XY Athletics and founder Jennifer Sey.

And while she is still adjusting to the regular online hate, and even the occasional heckle from spectators at competitions, Daniels said she is looking forward to raising her family and embracing her new role in the movement to keep trans athletes out of women’s sports.

The Light Horse Track Club did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital’s request for comment.

Fever coach unleashes after controversial no-call: ‘Disrespect has been unbelievable’

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!

After a controversial no-call during a play involving Caitlin Clark Saturday, Indiana Fever head coach Stephanie White lambasted WNBA referees for their officiating in Fever games this season.

In a rant after the Fever’s 90-88 loss to the New York Liberty, White called the officiating “egregious.”

New York’s Natasha Cloud made contact with Clark during the game’s final possession, but referees did not blow the whistle.

“I thought she got fouled. I think it’s pretty egregious what’s been happening to us the last few games,” White said of Clark. “The disrespect right now for our team has been pretty unbelievable. So, it’s disappointing, you know, that it doens’t go both ways, or it hasn’t gone both ways.”

White also acknowledged the league has a system in place for teams to communicate disagreements with referee decisions but questioned whether the system works.

“There’s a system to making sure that we can send stuff in and communicate our grievances, so to speak. I don’t know if I have a feeling that the system works,” she said.

INSIDE CAITLIN CLARK AND ANGEL REESE’S IMPACT ON MEN’S BASKETBALL

Clark declined to give her opinion on the referee’s call on the final play.

“I don’t know. I have to go back and watch,” Clark said of the call.

During the game, Clark immediately looked to the officials for a foul and quickly began to shout at them when she realized no foul call was forthcoming. Her teammate, Sophie Cunningham, also approached the refs to protest the lack of a whistle.

A replay showed Cloud pushing her shoulder into Clark’s the moment the ball came loose. But the referees did not blow the whistle, and the game ended there.

The Fever fell to 2-2 on the season and have been on the wrong end of a number of controversial decisions by officials in their first four games of the season.

James Carville defines Joe Biden’s ‘one colossal mistake’ that dooms his legacy

Political strategist James Carville said that former President Joe Biden is one of the most tragic figures in modern American history because he refused to withdraw early enough from the election.

“I cannot begin to express how tragic this is,” Carville said on Thursday’s episode of his podcast, “Politics War Room.”

“He’s one of the most accomplished Americans” since World War II, Carville said, praising Biden’s legacy in politics. “If you just look at what he did as chairman of the Judiciary, Foreign Relations, Vice President, President, and you look at the tragedies of his life and distress that he’s exhibited, and he’s a well-liked, very admirable person, and he made one colossal mistake, and the Democrats made a colossal mistake by going along with it.”

CREDIBILITY CRISIS: WHEN CNN CRITICIZED QUESTIONING BIDEN’S MENTAL FITNESS

“And that is staying in the race until July 21, 2024. And it breaks my heart,” Carville added. “It’s just so sad.”

Biden’s pivotal decision to withdraw from the presidential race is facing renewed scrutiny in the media. CNN anchor Jake Tapper co-authored a new book, “Original Sin,” on the efforts made by top aides and allies to hide the truth about the then-president’s mental and physical health.

Carville emphasized that Biden destroyed his legacy by choosing to stay in the race for as long as he did.

“Joe Biden on New Year’s Day of 2024 stood as a titan of modern American history,” he said.

BIDEN STRUGGLED TO FILM 2024 CAMPAIGN VIDEOS AMID DECLINING HEALTH, NEW BOOK CLAIMS: ‘THE MAN COULD NOT SPEAK’

“He’s a man that deserved everything that we could give him other than reelection,” Carville added.

The Democratic Party strategist who once advised former President Bill Clinton also said that reporters will continue to expose more of what happened behind the scenes of the Biden administration.

“We pretty much know the parameters of what happened but there’s plenty of specifics left,” Carville said. “It’s pretty much the saddest f—— thing you could imagine.”

600,000 red poppies turning heads on the National Mall this Memorial Day

As Memorial Day weekend kicks off, Americans are reminded of the true cost of freedom.

In a living tribute to those who gave their lives in service to our country, the USAA Poppy Wall of Honor has returned to the National Mall in Washington, D.C., for its sixth year, providing a space for remembrance and reflection.

Originally unveiled in 2018, the 134-foot installation pays homage to the more than 600,000 U.S. military members who made the ultimate sacrifice.

Since its inception, the poppy wall has welcomed over 50,000 visitors from across the globe, each one touched by the solemn display of patriotism and sacrifice. The red poppy plant is recognized as a symbol of remembrance for military personnel who have died in service.

AMERICANS SHOULD HONOR MEMORIAL DAY IN THIS WAY, MILITARY SERVICE MEMBERS SUGGEST

“Memorial Day is an important time of year, when Americans come together to honor our fallen heroes who gave all for our freedom. We do so not just in words, but in how we live — by upholding their values, supporting one another and continuing to cherish the freedoms they so courageously defended,” Juan C. Andrade, president and CEO of USAA, told FOX Business.

“As an advocate for the military community, USAA takes our responsibility seriously. It’s important to recognize the impact of each life given in service to our country and keep the memories of our fallen alive.”

This year’s installation coincides with two solemn anniversaries, 80 years since the conclusion of World War II and 50 years since the end of the Vietnam War.

The expanded exhibit features immersive storytelling designed to deepen visitors’ understanding of the profound contribution each fallen hero made in defense of liberty.

GAS PRICES HIT 4-YEAR LOW AHEAD OF MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND

At the heart of the exhibit are 600,000 poppy flowers, a symbol of remembrance used by the Veterans of Foreign Wars’ Buddy Poppies and the American Legion’s Memorial Poppies.

The updated display invites visitors to reflect on the legacy of the fallen through video stories and interactive elements that honor the enduring cost of freedom.

The red poppy’s significance as a symbol of remembrance dates back to World War I.

Inspired by the poem “In Flanders Fields” by Canadian Lt. Col. John McCrae, the flower came to represent the bloodshed of war and the resilience of those who served. Moina Michael, an American professor, further popularized the symbol by promoting the wearing of poppies to honor the fallen.

For those unable to visit in person, USAA is encouraging Americans to participate in Memorial Day traditions wherever they are.

These include wearing a poppy, flying the American flag at half-staff until noon, joining the National Moment of Remembrance at 3 p.m. local time and visiting local military memorials.

USAA, founded in 1922 by military officers, serves more than 14 million members of the U.S. military community.

With a legacy deeply rooted in service and sacrifice, the USAA Poppy Wall of Honor stands as a testament to the men and women who sacrificed their lives in defense of the nation and a reminder to all Americans to never forget.

Lawmakers sound alarm after DOGE digs up untraceable Treasury payments

Earlier this year, Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) uncovered $4.7 trillion in untraceable Treasury Department payments.

Prior to the discovery, Treasury Account Symbol (TAS) identification codes were optional for $4.7 trillion in Treasury Department payments, so they were often left blank and were untraceable. The field is now required to increase “insight into where the money is actually going,” the Treasury Department and DOGE announced in February

“Of the 1.5 billion payments that we send out every year, they are required to have a TAS, a Treasury Account Symbol. We discovered that more than one third of those payments did not have a TAS number,” Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said before the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Financial Services and General Government earlier this month.

Fox News Digital asked Republican senators on Capitol Hill to respond to the approximately 500,000 in untraceable payments made by the Treasury Department each year.

DOGE SAYS IT FOUND NEARLY UNTRACEABLE BUDGET LINE ITEM RESPONSIBLE FOR $4.7T IN PAYMENTS

“I’m not surprised at all, unfortunately,” Sen. Roger Marshall, R-Kansas, said before adding, “They were leaving complete fields undone when they were filling out their financials, so this is a common theme. I’m not surprised.”

TOP 5 MOST OUTRAGEOUS WAYS THE GOVERNMENT HAS WASTED YOUR TAXES, AS UNCOVERED BY ELON MUSK’S DOGE

Sen. Eric Schmitt, R-Missouri, called for an investigation into where those payments actually went.

“There’s so much waste. There’s so much fraud, There’s so much abuse in our government,” Schmitt told Fox News Digital. “I’m glad there was a laser-like focus on it. We ought to make many of those reforms permanent, but there probably ought to be some investigations here about where this money actually went. I mean this is taxpayer money. People work hard.”

After DOGE and the Treasury Department uncovered $4.7 trillion in untraceable funds, Marshall and Sen. Rick Scott of Florida introduced a bill in March requiring the Treasury Department to track all payments.

The Locating Every Disbursement in Government Expenditure Records (LEDGER) Act seeks to increase transparency in how the Treasury Department spends taxpayer money.

“When you hear about this story that they didn’t know where the money was going, it makes you mad because this is somebody’s money, this is taxpayers’ money when we have almost $37 trillion in debt, so this makes no sense at all,” Scott said.

The Congressional Budget projects that interest payments on America’s national debt will total $952 billion in fiscal year 2025. That’s $102 billion more than the United States’ defense budget at $850 billion.

“We paid out more last year on our debt, $36 trillion in debt, with $950 billion in interest going to bondholders all over the world, including in China. That $950 billion didn’t go to build a bridge or an F-35. We paid more on the interest on debt than we did to fund our military,” said Sen. Dan Sullivan, R-Alaska.

“That is an inflection point that when most countries hit, you look at history, that’s when great powers start to decline. So we have to get those savings.”
