Schiff caught in mortgage scheme that deceived lenders, federal housing chief says
Sen. Adam Schiff, D-Calif., has been referred to the Department of Justice for criminal prosecution regarding mortgage documents.
The director of the U.S. Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA) sent a letter to Attorney General Pam Bondi and Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche in May citing alleged misconduct by Schiff, who owns homes in California and Maryland.
“Based on media reports, Mr. Adam B. Schiff has, in multiple instances, falsified bank documents and property records to acquire more favorable loan terms, impacting payments from 2003-2019 for a Potomac, Maryland-based property,” FHFA Director William Pulte wrote in the letter, which Fox News obtained on Wednesday. “As regulator of Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and the Federal Home Loan Banks, we take very seriously allegations of mortgage fraud or other criminal activity. Such misconduct jeopardizes the safety and soundness of FHFA’s regulated entities and the security and stability of the U.S. mortgage market.”
On Monday, Pulte received a memo from the Fannie Mae financial crimes investigations concluding that Schiff allegedly engaged in “a sustained pattern of possible occupancy misrepresentation” on five Fannie Mae loans, Fox News has learned.
SCHIFF RESPONDS TO TRUMP ACCUSATIONS, CALLS FOR HIS REMOVAL FROM OFFICE
It is unclear if the Justice Department is pursing action against Schiff at this time, but earlier this week, President Donald Trump did demand his longtime foe be brought to justice for the alleged mortgage fraud scheme.
Fox News Digital reached out to the Justice Department for more information, but they did not immediately respond.
Schiff and his wife purchased a home in Potomac, Maryland, in 2003 for $870,000, according to the letter. They entered into a Fannie Mae-backed mortgage agreement for $610,000 at a rate of 5.625% over a term of 30 years, asserting the property would be their primary and principal residence.
The letter said they reaffirmed that the Maryland home was their primary residence in mortgage refinancing filings in 2009, 2011, 2012 and 2013, despite Schiff being an elected official representing the state of California at the same time.
Fox News obtained a copy of the 2011 affidavit showing Schiff signed certifying that the Maryland house is his primary residence.
Pulte said Schiff and his wife did not list the Maryland home as their secondary residence until 2020.
Over the same time frame, Schiff took a homeowner’s tax exemption on a condo that he owns in Burbank, California, also claiming that home as his primary residence for a $7,000 reduction off of the 1% property tax, Pulte wrote, citing media reports.
In 2023, the letter notes, a spokesperson for Schiff asserted that “Adam’s primary residence is Burbank, California, and will remain so when he wins the Senate seat.”
“Primary residence mortgages receive more favorable loan terms, including lower interest rates, than secondary residence mortgages,” the letter said. “Lenders view secondary residence mortgages as significantly riskier, as a borrower is more likely to continue paying off a primary residence mortgage during any financial hardship. Interest rates on secondary residence mortgages are typically between 0.25-0.50% higher than their primary residence counterparts; however, this gap can widen depending on the lender.”
TRUMP ACCUSES ‘SCAM ARTIST’ SCHIFF OF LYING ABOUT MARYLAND HOME TO COMMIT MORTGAGE FRAUD
The federal housing official wrote that he believes Schiff’s alleged misconduct could be violations of federal criminal codes banning wire fraud, mail fraud, bank fraud and false statements to financial institutions.
Schiff “appears to have falsified records in order to receive favorable loan terms, and also appears to have been aware of the financial benefits of a primary residence mortgage when compared to a secondary residence mortgage,” Pulte wrote.
According to the letter, a spokesperson for Schiff in 2023 told CNN that, “Adam’s California and Maryland addresses have been listed as primary residences for loan purposes because they are both occupied throughout the year and to distinguish them from a vacation property.”
Last year, the letter notes, a federal jury convicted Marilyn Mosby of making false statements on a mortgage application for a Florida condominium when she was the Baltimore City state’s attorney.
The letter also cited how a St. Louis man pleaded guilty last month to fraudulently obtaining home mortgages “after the hard work of our agency’s IG and the DOJ.”
“There are unfortunately too many examples of individuals who commit fraud or mortgage fraud,” Pulte wrote. “As always, we look forward to cooperating with the Department of Justice to support any actions that the Department of Justice finds appropriate. U.S. Federal Housing FHFA appreciates the Department of Justice’s support in ensuring the protection of American homebuyers and taxpayers from mortgage fraud and other financial misconduct.”
Trump took to social media on Tuesday demanding Schiff be held accountable.
“I have always suspected Shifty Adam Schiff was a scam artist. And now I learn that Fannie Mae’s Financial Crimes Division have concluded that Adam Schiff has engaged in a sustained pattern of possible Mortgage Fraud,” Trump wrote in part on TRUTH Social. “Mortgage Fraud is very serious, and CROOKED Adam Schiff (now a Senator) needs to be brought to justice.”
Schiff, a congressman until his 2024 election to the upper chamber, spearheaded the House Intelligence Committee impeachment inquiry into Trump for requesting that Ukraine investigate Joe Biden, whose son Hunter held a lucrative gig at a Ukrainian natural gas company during his vice presidency. Schiff also issued multiple subpoenas and held multiple hearings alleging Trump “colluded” with Russia.
Schiff released a video statement Tuesday reacting to the mortgage fraud claims, saying Trump has long threatened to prosecute him.

“He’s accused me of treason, he’s also accused me of leaking classified information, he’s accused me of fraud, it’s been basically one thing after another, all baseless, all without merit,” Schiff said. “It’s nothing new – but his attacks on the rule of law are more dangerous than ever.”
Trump reportedly set to shake up retirement investing—what your 401(k) could include
President Donald Trump is reportedly preparing to sign an executive order that would expand access to private-market investments in retirement accounts.
The Wall Street Journal reported, citing people familiar with the matter, that the order would direct the Labor Department and Securities and Exchange Commission to develop regulatory guidance for employers and plan administrators about the inclusion of private assets in 401(k) retirement plans.
The Journal’s sources indicated that the order’s details aren’t yet finalized and are still subject to the administration’s review ahead of an announcement.
Private-market investments, also known as private assets, include private equity, venture capital, real estate and hedge funds that aren’t traded on public exchanges.
TRUMP-BACKED ‘INTERNET MONEY’ COULD DRIVE TRILLION-DOLLAR MARKET AND STRENGTHEN THE DOLLAR
Private assets are typically characterized by higher risk and potentially higher returns compared to traditional investments like stocks and bonds that are traded on public markets.
Bryan Corbett, president and CEO of MFA, a trade association that represents alternative asset management options such as private credit and hedge funds, touted the anticipated order as giving investors the ability to further diversify their investment portfolio in a Reuters report.
“Expanding access to alternative investments in 401(k) retirement plans will provide more Americans with the diversification and investment options needed to build wealth and save for a successful retirement,” Corbett said.
CONSERVATIVE ECONOMISTS PRESS TRUMP’S DOGE TO UNDO BIDEN’S ESG PENSION RULE
During Trump’s first term, the Labor Department indicated in a 2020 letter that firms may responsibly include private equity in certain investment products like target-date funds if they carefully consider the risks and fees associated with their inclusion.
The Biden administration reversed that policy the following year, with the Labor Department saying it does “not endorse or recommend such investments.”
TREASURY’S BESSENT SAYS US SHOULD BE ‘PREMIER DESTINATION’ FOR DIGITAL ASSETS
In anticipation of the Trump administration’s planned move on private-market investments in retirement funds, several firms have taken steps to put out investment products that include such assets.
The Journal noted that Apollo Global Management and State Street have released a target-date fund that includes a private-markets component, while Blue Owl Capital indicated this week it will collaborate with Voya on products that include private markets in 401(k) investments.

‘Being a White man is an insult?’ Heated CNN exchange leaves journalist fuming
CNN senior political commentator Ana Navarro sparked a clash on the network Monday when pointing out a panelist’s racial identity during a discussion about Trump administration immigration policies.
During “CNN NewsNight,” Navarro dismissed conservative journalist Brad Polumbo’s critique of her view of President Donald Trump’s immigration policies by pointing out his race and gender.
“It might be hyperbolic for you as a White man… It’s certainly not hyperbolic for me as a Latino,” Navarro said to Polumbo, who took offense at the comment and accused Navarro of being racially discriminatory.
‘VIEW’ CO-HOST TELLS OTHERS TRUMP IS IN POWER ‘BECAUSE YOU GUYS SCREWED THIS UP’ IN CLASH OVER BIDEN COVER-UP
The clash happened after Polumbo called out the CNN commentator and “The View” co-host for referring to Trump’s immigration agenda and detention of illegal immigrants as a “reign of terror.”
“I think you’re definitely being hyperbolic when you talk about a reign of terror. When the doomsday alarm from Democrats or media critics is always at a ten, it doesn’t hit the same,” he said.
Though the discussion had moved on to other topics, Navarro made sure to respond to Polumbo’s “hyperbolic” point when it was her turn to speak again.
“Also, I want to respond to you saying that I was hyperbolic when I talked about a reign of terror,” she said. Polumbo interjected, “Because that is hyperbolic.”
Navarro made the “White man” comment, which prompted a strong reaction from the journalist.

“Oh OK, so we’re being racist now?” he asked. Navarro denied that charge, saying, “No, I’m not being racist.”
The conservative disagreed, saying, “To dismiss my opinion for being a White man, is racist.”
Meanwhile, Navarro was trying to speak over him: “No, I’m not dismissing your opinion. I am telling you that what the Latino community, the Brown community in America–”
Polumbo interjected, “A lot of them disagree with you. You do not speak in one voice for them.”
“OK, well let me speak in my voice,” she replied, getting louder. “You said I was being hyperbolic–”
Polumbo cut her off again, “Until you insulted me racially, sure.”

With her voice raised, she asked, “Being a White man is an insult?”
“When you invoke it to dismiss my opinion, yes,” he responded.
Navarro followed up, asking, “Do you think Latinos are living under circumstances that other people may not be right now?” Before Polumbo could respond, host Abby Philip cut in to reassert control of the discussion. She defended Navarro.
“But I just want to make a point that, Brad, all she’s saying is that her view of the situation is different from yours. I don’t think that’s an insult,” she said.
Polumbo maintained that Navarro was saying he couldn’t be correct because of his race.

Philip disagreed, saying, “No, no, no… She said I see it differently from you — which is not an insult. And it’s also not a racial insult.”
Killer bacteria claims 4 lives in Florida as officials issue urgent warning
A type of flesh-eating bacteria has killed four people in Florida so far this year.
The state’s health department confirmed the deaths in a notice posted on the Florida Health website.
A total of 11 people have contracted the bacteria in 2025, according to the same source.
SCIENTISTS CRACK THE CODE ON NEW VACCINE FOR DEADLY PLAGUE BACTERIA
Vibrio vulnificus is part of a wider group of Vibrio bacteria, which are found in coastal waters, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) states.
This specific bacterium, Vibrio vulnificus, typically lives in warm, brackish seawater, and can enter open wounds when people are swimming.
Another potential source of infection is raw shellfish, especially oysters, Florida Health noted.
Although infections are rare, Vibrio vulnificus can cause an illness called vibriosis, often marked by vomiting, diarrhea and abdominal pain, as well as potentially severe skin infections, the above source cautioned.
WOMAN DIES OF BRAIN-EATING AMOEBA AFTER USING TAP WATER IN NASAL RINSE DEVICE
Signs and symptoms of a Vibrio skin infection include fever, redness, pain, swelling, warmth, discoloration and discharge, per the CDC’s website.
While healthy people generally experience only mild symptoms, those who are immunocompromised or have chronic liver disease can face serious health risks.
If Vibrio vulnificus enters the bloodstream, it can cause severe illness marked by fever, chills, septic shock and blistering skin lesions, according to Florida Health.
About half of these bloodstream infections are fatal.

Some severe cases can cause an infection called necrotizing fasciitis, which is when the flesh around an open wound dies, the CDC cautions. This rare side effect has led to Vibrio vulnificus being described as a “flesh-eating bacteria.”
No cases of person-to-person transmission have been reported, Florida Health stated.
Diagnosis and treatment
The bacterial infection is diagnosed by testing cultures obtained from stool, wounds or blood, according to health officials.
For mild infections, the CDC recommends increasing fluid intake to prevent dehydration.
Those with severe or prolonged infections should receive antibiotics to improve survival rates.
For those with infected wounds, surgery may be necessary to remove dead tissue.

“Aggressive attention should be given to the wound site; for patients with wound infections, amputation of the infected limb is sometimes necessary,” Florida Health stated.
About one in five people will die from the infection, sometimes within a day or two of illness, the CDC states.
Prevention tips
Health officials caution against entering warm saltwater or brackish water if any fresh cuts, scrapes or wounds are present.
It’s also recommended to not consume raw oysters and other raw shellfish, and to avoid cross-contamination of other foods with raw seafood or its juices.
Protective gloves should be worn when handling raw shellfish.
Those with liver disease, cancer, diabetes, HIV or thalassemia (a group of hereditary blood disorders) — as well as those who are taking immune-suppressing medications — are at a higher risk of complications and should take extra precautions, the CDC warns.
In 2024, a total of 82 cases of Vibrio vulnificus and 19 deaths were reported to Florida Health.
There were 46 cases and 11 deaths in 2023.
Former president slams ‘mistake’ liberals made with young men in America
Former President Barack Obama called out progressives on Wednesday for their “mistake” of constantly talking about what boys are doing wrong, rather than talking about what they are doing right.
Appearing as a guest on the “IMO” podcast, which is co-hosted by his wife, former First Lady Michelle Obama, and her brother Craig Robinson, the former president argued that the “mistake” occurred because progressives were hyper-focused on ensuring there is a “level playing field” for girls, which has led to boys’ flaws being put under a microscope.
“I will say, as quote-unquote progressives, Democrats, progressive parents, enlightened ones, we’ve made that mistake sometimes in terms of our rhetoric, where it’s like we’re constantly talking about it, you know, what’s going on with the boys instead of what’s right with them,” he stated.
MICHELLE OBAMA SAYS SHE’S ‘SO GLAD’ SHE NEVER HAD A SON, SAYS HE ‘WOULD HAVE BEEN A BARACK OBAMA’
Obama continued, explaining his reasoning for why many progressives have overlooked what boys have been doing right, and instead have focused on what they’ve been doing wrong.
“We rightly have tried to invest in girls to make sure that there’s a level playing field, and they’re not barred from opportunities. But we haven’t been as willing, I think, to be intentional about investing in the boys. And that’s been a mistake. And I think people are starting to recognize that,” he asserted.
Earlier in the podcast, the former president noted that he finds it “promising” that young men are beginning to realize that there are many different ways of being a “good, strong, successful, happy man.” However, he expressed criticism of the younger generation for leaving behind some of the good aspects of what the “old models” of manhood contained.
MICHELLE OBAMA PRAISES BARACK OBAMA’S PARENTING DESPITE THE ‘GRANDEUR’ OF HIS JOB
Speaking directly to his brother-in-law, the former president told Robinson, “I think that what we need to do in order to take advantage of that is to, as a society, as communities, recognize this kind of transition from the old models that you and I, Craig, grew up on. Just like you said, you took a lot of good stuff from your dad, but then there were some modifications that just had to be made, either because of blind spots, limits, lack of resources, what have you.”
Continuing his point, Obama used an anecdote from what he’d witnessed with some of his daughters’ male friends to explain how some of the old-fashioned qualities of being a man, such as chivalry, have been lost on the younger generation of men.
“Talking to Malia and Sasha, sometimes they go out with their friends and, you know, they’re in a group and the guy’s got crocodile arms, you know? It’s like not picking up the check. And it’s like, okay, you don’t have to pick it up all the time, but if you’re never picking it up, that’s a problem,” he explained. “That says something about you, if you’re not opening a door or pulling out a chair, because that’s just common courtesy. That’s just being kind, right?”

Obama added that he’s “rooting” for the parents of boys, noting that as a father of daughters, he and his wife are counting on them to raise “good guys” — not just in terms of marriage, but in all aspects of life.

“What we’re learning, I think, is that when we don’t think about boys and just assume they’re going to be okay because they’ve been running the world and, you know, they’ve got all the advantages relative to girls — and all of which has historically been true in all kinds of ways. But precisely because of that, if you’re not thinking about what’s happening to boys and how are they being raised, then that can actually hurt women,” he argued.
Scientists discover common nutrient may be key to fighting Alzheimer’s
Reducing the risk of Alzheimer’s could be as simple as eating the right food.
A new study by researchers in Boston, Chicago and Washington, D.C., found that eating foods high in choline could lower the risk of developing the common dementia.
Choline is an essential micronutrient found in various foods, including poultry, dairy products (such as milk, yogurt and eggs), cruciferous vegetables like broccoli and Brussels sprouts, beans and some fish, according to the USDA.
THE KEY TO LIVING LONGER COULD BE TIED TO A SURPRISING SUBSTANCE, STUDY SUGGESTS
Dietary choline intake has been associated with a lower risk of cognitive function and reduced risk of dementia, the researchers concluded.
In the study, participants averaging 81 years of age who did not have Alzheimer’s completed dietary questionnaires and underwent annual neurological exams.
After an eight-year follow-up, researchers determined that consuming about 350 milligrams of choline per day was associated with the lowest risk of clinical Alzheimer’s diagnoses in older adults.
Los Angeles-based registered dietitian nutritionist Ilana Muhlstein has also backed the impact of choline on brain health, citing a 2024 China-based study that found intake improves cognitive function, especially among women.
“Your brain uses 20% to 30% of the calories you consume.”
“This is the study that inspired me to start supplementing choline,” she said. “My memory has gotten worse over the years. I first wrote it off as ‘pregnancy brain,’ then ‘mommy brain,’ but eventually realized I should do my best to help it.”
“I already sleep well, exercise regularly, play mahjong and limit my alcohol, so choline was the next obvious tool worth trying.”
WARDING OFF ALZHEIMER’S MIGHT MEAN MAKING THESE 11 LIFESTYLE CHANGES, EXPERT SAYS
Muhlstein shared that more than 90% of the choline in eggs comes from the yolk. For those who choose to eat egg whites for dietary reasons, taking a choline supplement may be a better option.
Choline intake should be tailored to each person’s individual needs, the nutritionist noted, referencing guidance from the Harvard School of Public Health.
“Premenopausal women may have lower requirements for dietary choline, because higher estrogen levels stimulate the creation of choline in the body,” the university wrote.
In a separate interview with Fox News Digital, Dr. Daniel Amen, a psychiatrist, brain imaging doctor and founder of Amen Clinics in California, emphasized the importance of eating the right foods for brain health.
“Your brain uses 20% to 30% of the calories you consume,” he said. “So, nutrition is critical to help your brain or hurt your brain.”

Walnuts are one of Amen’s favorite brain-healthy food options, as they contain choline as well as omega-3 fatty acids.
He also recommends including wild salmon as a dietary staple, as it’s high in omega-3s and healthy protein, as well as organic blueberries and green, leafy vegetables.

“If you had a salad every day, and you put blueberries and salmon and walnuts on it with a little lemon and olive oil, that would be a perfect brain-boosting lunch,” he said.
The doctor also suggested considering certain supplements to foster better brain health, including vitamin D, omega-3 or fish oil, or a daily multi-vitamin.
.
“Nearly two-thirds of the American population is low in vitamin D,” he said. “And if it’s low, it’s a universal risk factor for every bad thing related to your brain, but also to your body, including obesity and cancer … Know and optimize your vitamin D level.”
Fox News Digital reached out to the study researchers for comment.

The federation said Groenvold was “quickly taken to hospital and received treatment for the injuries he sustained in the lightning strike” and then died Tuesday night.
Groenvold was struck by the bolt on Saturday.
Groenvold was a member of Norway’s Alpine skiing team before he moved into freestyle and ski cross in 2004. He earned a bronze medal at the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver.
He had one podium finish as a World Cup Alpine skier, finishing third in a downhill in Sierra Nevada, Spain, in 1999. He also won a bronze medal in ski cross at the 2005 world championships, and the overall ski cross cup in 2007.
After his career ended, he became a national team coach and a TV commentator.

“Norwegian skiing has lost a prominent figure, who has meant so much to both the Alpine and freestyle communities,” federation president Tove Moe Dyrhaug said, adding that his passing creates “a huge void.”
Groenvold finished behind Switzerland’s Michael Schmid and Andreas Matt of Austria at the Vancouver games.
He competed in his first race at the age of 3 and earned Alpine Ski World Cup points for the first time two months before his 21st birthday in 1996.

Groenvold competed in the Freestyle Skiing World Cup throughout Europe, where he earned three victories. Two of them came within a one-month span in 2007, and the other came in 2010. He also finished second three other times.
Fever coach addresses level of physicality Caitlin Clark faces following latest injury
Indiana Fever head coach Stephanie White addressed the constant physicality star guard Caitlin Clark continues to face in the league after Clark went down with what appeared to be a groin injury during Tuesday night’s win over the Connecticut Sun.
Speaking to reporters after the 85-77 win. White was asked about her thoughts on the “physical battle” Clark has faced – both throughout the season and in Tuesday’s game.
“Are you trying to get me fined again?” White asked with a laugh, before expanding on her answer.

“There’s a level of physicality that they’re able to play with against her. I knew it as an opponent, and I see it as her coach. I’m not exactly sure why, it just is what it is,” she said. “We’ve got to help her learn to adjust and use it against them in certain ways. We’ve got to find some ways to make it a little easier for her.”
Admittedly, White added that the WNBA as a whole has seen more physical play on the court than ever before.
“The level of physicality overall in our league has been at a different level than it’s been for a long time.

‘American Idol’ exec murder suspect allegedly flashed knives, threatened his mom: neighbors
ENCINO, Calif. – The Los Angeles Police Department is continuing their investigation into the harrowing murders of Robin Kaye, a longtime “American Idol” music supervisor, and her husband, Thomas Deluca, after they were found dead inside their home on Monday.
LAPD Lieutenant Guy Golan provided an update to Fox News Digital on the next steps in the investigation after the suspect, 22-year-old Raymond Boodarian, was arrested for double homicide – crimes that at this point in the investigation appear to be random.
“He was arrested from his place of residence. Over near the 19,000 block of Van Owen Street. He was arrested without incident,” Golan told Fox News Digital.
‘AMERICAN IDOL’ MUSIC BOSS ROBIN KAYE AND HUSBAND FOUND MURDERED IN THEIR LA HOME
“He did not provide any statements at this time, and investigators plan on filing charges for murder against him.”
At the home of the murder suspect, a family spokesperson told Fox News Digital, “Sorry for everything that has happened. And sorry for the couple that [have] lost their lives.”
Golan explained that his team is now putting the case together over the next 48 hours to present it to the district attorney’s office for further consideration, but at this time, “there’s no motive.”
“We’re still investigating any possible motive. Right now, we have no connection linking the suspect with the victims,” Golan added.
“Sorry for everything that has happened. And sorry for the couple that [have] lost their lives.”
Golan pointed out that the suspect was identified through surveillance video, as well as forensic evidence that was at the scene that police had “expedited analysis” on.
Since investigators only had the evidence for “about 26 hours,” according to Golan, officers still have to do the “canvassing legwork for additional witnesses” and look through “additional surveillance video.”
BRAD PITT’S LOS ANGELES HOME RANSACKED BY THREE SUSPECTS WHO BROKE IN THROUGH FRONT WINDOW
“We still don’t know if the suspect drove to the scene or if he walked or if he took a bus or an Uber… we have a lot of legwork to show the suspect being at the residence, other than simply surveillance video that we recovered from the house. And we have the next 48 hours to do that,” Golan told Fox News Digital.

LAPD officials said the double homicide of Kaye and Deluca, who were found with multiple gunshot wounds, appeared to be a random act of violence.
While the motive remains unclear, authorities are continuing to work on piecing together what led to the fatal encounter. Golan emphasized that although detectives are still in the early stages of the investigation, there’s currently no indication the victims were targeted.

Random violent attacks like this are very scary because if it’s a random act, it could happen to anybody… We understand that the community is obviously concerned about what’s going on,” he told Fox News Digital.
As investigators continue to piece together the details of the double homicide, LAPD officials are still probing whether anything was taken from the Los Angeles mansion.
Golan added that “there [are] no overt signs of burglary such as ransacking or items strewn about the property.”
While there were no immediate signs of a burglary, detectives have not ruled out the possibility that something was taken.
“It’s possible he did take something but at this time we’re unable to ascertain that.”

While the murders may have shaken up the Los Angeles community, Golan added one bit of reassurance – that the suspect, Boodarian, is currently behind bars.
“The one silver lining [is] that we were able to take [the suspect] into custody in an expeditious manner. But nobody ever likes hearing about something happening completely unprompted again. We’re going to get to the bottom of what happened and why it happened,” Golan concluded.
Kaye and Deluca, were found dead inside their home after officers responded to a call around 2:30 p.m. on July 14 for a welfare check in the 4700 block of White Oak Avenue in Encino. Both victims were 70.

It is believed the murders may have occurred on July 10 after the investigation revealed the LAPD had received two calls that day reporting a possible burglary suspect at the house around 4pm, according to police.
During a news conference yesterday, Golan shared that Kaye and Deluca’s Los Angeles mansion is “fortified.”

“It has seven, eight-foot-high walls with metal spikes that are welded onto the tips of the walls there. The vehicle gate was closed, also spiked. They had no means of entering via gate code like they did on the date of the welfare check.”
“They did request a flyover by our airship, which did happen. There were no signs of forced entry during this flyover. And again, that the suspect entered the property without force and entry,” he continued.
“There were no signs of burglary. And regarding what evidence there was in the front porch, it was not visible by air due to the foyer having a kind of cover over it there at the front of the house. So the airship was not able to see what the officers observed during the welfare check.”
Kaye, per IMDb records, worked on “American Idol” for over 15 seasons and won multiple Guild of Music Supervisors Awards. Her résumé also includes “Lip Sync Battle” and other major TV productions.
