Key Pentagon advisor resigns after redirecting $50B in defense spending
A top advisor to Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has left the Pentagon after six months of service, the Department of Defense (DoD) confirmed to Fox News Digital on Saturday.
Justin Fulcher told Fox News Digital he formally resigned on Thursday evening, describing the decision as entirely his own.
Fulcher said he had originally planned to serve six months in government and, having reached that point, chose to move on “amicably.” He also emphasized what he described as the “great work” being done by Hegseth “for our troops and country.”
“The Department of Defense is grateful to Justin Fulcher for his work on behalf of President [Donald] Trump and Secretary Hegseth. We wish him well in his future endeavors,” chief Pentagon spokesman Sean Parnell said in a statement.
HEGSETH VOWS TO RESTORE WARRIOR MENTALITY AND RAISE STANDARDS IN SWEEPING MILITARY TRANSFORMATION
In addition to advising Hegseth on personnel and policy, Fulcher played a role in several defense initiatives during his tenure, he told Fox News Digital.
Fulcher said he contributed to reviews of major acquisition programs aimed at strengthening lethality and the U.S. industrial base, and helped streamline software procurement timelines “from years to months,” modernizing key IT systems across the department.
He also said he supported Hegseth in high-level meetings across the Indo-Pacific, including the Shangri-La Dialogue in Singapore, and participated in efforts that redirected nearly $50 billion from non-lethal line items into readiness and more impactful defense programs.
Fulcher praised the “dedicated men and women of the Department of Defense,” cited progress in “revitalizing the warrior ethos” and “rebuilding the military,” and thanked both Hegseth and Trump for their leadership. “Still, this is just the beginning,” Fulcher added.
Fulcher, who had served as a senior advisor to Hegseth since April, announced his departure Saturday afternoon in a message posted to X.
“As planned, I’ve completed 6 months of service in government to my country,” he wrote, calling the experience “incredibly inspiring.”
WALTZ DOUBLES DOWN ON HEGSETH PRAISE AMID ONGOING PENTAGON CONTROVERSY
“None of this could have happened without Secretary Hegseth’s decisive leadership or President Trump’s continued confidence in our team,” he wrote. “I will continue to champion American warfighters in all future endeavors.”
Fulcher joined the DoD earlier this year as part of Hegseth’s inner circle, a cohort of loyal advisers appointed after Hegseth took the helm at the Pentagon in Trump’s second term.
His departure comes amid a broader reshuffling of senior personnel inside Hegseth’s office. At least six aides have left since January, though defense officials have downplayed the moves as standard transitions.

It’s unclear what Fulcher’s next step will be, though his statement suggests he intends to remain active in national security circles.

DNI Gabbard refers Obama’s Russia hoax documents to DOJ after bombshell report
Director of National Intelligence (DNI) Tulsi Gabbard appeared on “Hannity” Friday night where she asserted that former President Barack Obama’s goal with the Russia collusion narrative was to “subvert the American people’s will” in the 2016 presidential election.
Gabbard declassified the report on the Obama administration’s Russia hoax on Friday, revealing “overwhelming evidence” that demonstrates how, after President Donald Trump won the 2016 election against Hillary Clinton, then-President Barack Obama and his national security team laid the groundwork for what would be the years-long Trump–Russia collusion probe.
She noted to viewers that this is an issue that is “important to every single one of us as Americans,” and not just a partisan issue because it has to do with the “integrity and strength of our democratic republic.”
OBAMA OFFICIALS ADMITTED THEY HAD NO ‘EMPIRICAL EVIDENCE’ OF TRUMP-RUSSIA COLLUSION: HOUSE INTEL TRANSCRIPTS
“It lays out, these over 100 documents that you’re referencing, that I declassified and released, spells out in great detail exactly what happens when you have some of the most powerful people in our country directly leading at the helm, President Obama and his senior-most national security cabinet, James Comey, John Brennan, James Clapper, and Susan Rice and others, essentially making a very intentional decision to create this manufactured, politicized piece of intelligence with the objective of subverting the will of the American people,” she told Hannity.
The intelligence chief claimed that the goal of Obama and his team was to essentially “not accept the decision of the American people” in 2016, and to use this “manufactured, politicized piece of intelligence” as a means to enact a “years-long coup against President Trump.”
Gabbard shared her thoughts on what she believed were the effects the Russia Hoax had on the country and its people.
“The years-long Mueller investigation that cost taxpayers almost $40 million to congressional impeachments, endless smears and attacks against not only President Trump, but his family. He had senior members of his team who were investigated, some arrested and jailed. We had heightened and increased tensions between the United States and Russia. The list goes on and on about the consequences of President Obama and his senior cabinet members politicizing intelligence,” she asserted.
Fox News Digital reached out to Obama representatives for comment on Gabbard’s latest accusations against the administration. Fox News Digital previously reached out to Obama, Clapper, Comey, Brennan, Rice, Lynch and McCabe for comment.

The intelligence leader told Hannity that she would be referring the documents to the Department of Justice (DOJ) for further investigation, noting that accountability is “critical” to ensure Americans still have faith in our republic.
“I am referring all of these documents that we have found and uncovered, referring them to the Department of Justice for further investigation. Accountability and action; not just investigation, but action. Accountability has to take place. The American people’s ability to have faith and trust in the integrity of our democratic republic is literally what’s at stake and therefore the future of our ability to exist as the country that we know it. This accountability is critical to make sure that this never happens again,” she stated. “Exposing the truth and naming those who are responsible should drive that accountability that has to take place.”
Gabbard also touched on the now-infamous Steele dossier, despite its lack of credibility.
“The Steele dossier was used in this manufactured assessment that President Obama directed to be created along with many other pieces of intelligence that the intelligence community itself, for months leading up to the election, said, ‘This is not credible and should not be used at all,’” the DNI chief claimed.
On Saturday morning, Gabbard appeared on “Fox and Friends” to further discuss the new Russia documents, referring to the Obama administration’s actions as a “treasonous conspiracy” against Trump.
“No one, no matter who they are, no matter how high up they are or how powerful they may be, no matter who the intelligence officials or professionals were, who were a part of this treasonous conspiracy, there must be accountability,” she asserted.

Mother of murdered college intern sends warning to parents: ‘They will do it again’
The mother of a congressional intern who was killed in Washington, D.C., pleaded with police to find the people who killed her son, warning other parents it could happen to their kids.
Eric Tarpinian-Jachym, a 21-year-old student at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, was shot June 30 at around 10:28 p.m., according to police, and passed away on July 1. The Metropolitan Police Department said the shooting happened on the 1200 block of 7th Street, Northwest.
A 16-year-old male and adult female were both shot but survived. No suspects are in custody, a Metropolitan Police Department spokesperson told Fox News Digital on Tuesday.
According to investigators, several individuals exited a vehicle and began firing shots at a group of people, which included Tarpinian-Jachym. Tarpinian-Jachym wasn’t the intended target of the shooting, they added.
FBI JOINS MANHUNT AFTER CONGRESSIONAL STUDENT INTERN SHOT DEAD IN DC
Tamara Jachym, Eric’s mother, told Fox News Digital in an interview that police need to arrest the individuals responsible because “they will do it again.”
“This is a serious crime. A mile from the White House. This isn’t a joke. And then it happened again this weekend,” Jachym said, referring to a shooting in Washington, D.C., on 4th of July weekend that left 3-year-old Honesty Cheadle dead. “You know, the mayor has to get serious with this.”
“I think Eric felt safe. It was early at night. He was in a decent area and this happened. And it’s a shame. And you know, Eric was the 85th victim and now we have an 86,” she added, referring to the number of homicides in Washington, D.C., at the time.
So far in 2025, 91 people have been killed in Washington, D.C.

Jachym described her son as a “very kind, sweet, compassionate young man.”
“He was kind to everybody. He loved the animals. He loved to fish,” she said. “He was just a really special boy. He really loved DC, loved to walk around the streets. He loved to walk to the Wharf and he liked to go out to eat. And he loved the people in D.C.”

Man wearing prohibited jewelry suffers fatal outcome after entering MRI room
A man has died after getting sucked into an MRI machine.
The accident occurred on July 16 at the Nassau Open MRI in Westbury, New York, according to a press release from the Nassau County Police Department in Long Island.
Officers responded to a 911 call at around 4:30 p.m. at the MRI center, which provides diagnostic radiology services.
ARE FULL-BODY SCANS WORTH THE MONEY? DOCTORS SHARE WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW
“Upon arrival, officers were informed that a male, 61, entered an unauthorized Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) room while the scan was in progress,” the release stated.
“The male victim was wearing a large metallic chain around his neck, causing him to be drawn into the machine, which resulted in a medical episode.”
The man was transported to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries the next day, on July 17.
The investigation is ongoing, according to the police department.
Nassau Open MRI states on its website that anything metallic should be removed prior to an MRI, including hearing aids, partial plates, dentures, jewelry and hair pins.
CANCER SCREENINGS: HERE ARE 5 TYPES AND CRITICAL INFORMATION TO KNOW ABOUT EACH
On a web page detailing the benefits and risks of MRIs, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) notes that “the strong, static magnetic field will attract magnetic objects (from small items such as keys and cell phones, to large, heavy items such as oxygen tanks and floor buffers) and may cause damage to the scanner or injury to the patient or medical professionals if those objects become projectiles.”
“Careful screening of people and objects entering the MR environment is critical to ensure nothing enters the magnet area that may become a projectile.”
For patients with magnetic implants, external devices and accessory medical devices, there is the risk that the MRI will “pull on magnetic materials” and cause “unwanted movement” of the device, the same source cautions.
The FDA also notes that “adverse events” related to MRI scans are “very rare.”
Out of millions of MRI scans in the U.S. each year, the agency receives around 300 reports of adverse events — primarily burns and other thermal injuries.
5 CANCER TYPES WHERE SCREENINGS SAVE THE MOST LIVES
“Other reported problems include injuries from projectile events (objects being drawn toward the MRI scanner), crushed and pinched fingers from the patient table, patient falls, and hearing loss or a ringing in the ear (tinnitus),” the FDA states.
The MRI is a machine that uses a large magnet to produce “very intricate pictures” of the human body, according to Kenneth J. Perry, M.D., an emergency medicine attending physician in Charleston, South Carolina.
This can be very helpful in capturing images of specific parts of the body, he said, such as the spinal cord, brain or pregnant abdomen.

“Unlike other imaging modalities, such as X-ray or CT scan, it does not use radiation, which means it is safe for children as well as pregnant women,” Perry told Fox News Digital.
The only major issue with an MRI machine, the doctor cautioned, is that the magnetic function is never off.
“This means that when approaching an MRI machine, it is impossible to be near it with anything magnetic without having that piece of clothing or device get pulled into the device,” Perry said.
“This is different from a CT scanner, which is only causing radiation at the time that it is on obtaining imaging.”
The best way to prevent these types of accidents is to have a “robust MRI protocol” in place, Perry advised.
“Most hospitals will have different zones built into the MRI process. Within each zone, there is a discussion about which devices or pieces of clothing are safe for the MRI,” the doctor noted.
In the actual machine area, there should be no magnetic material on the patients.
“In the end, MRI is a very safe imaging modality that can give very helpful and important information to physicians.”
“Adhering to these very important protocols will be very helpful in preventing major issues,” Perry said.
It is best to discuss with the care team in advance about any potential concerns related to MRI safety, such as implanted devices, the doctor said.

“In the end, MRI is a very safe imaging modality that can give very helpful and important information to physicians to help take better care of patients,” Perry added.

Backstreet Boys star says beach fight with sheriff reflects threat to ‘American Dream’
Brian Littrell just wants the alleged trespassers on his beach to quit playing games.
“This is the American dream,” the Backstreet Boys singer told Fox News Digital this week. “Like I’ve worked for three decades, longer than three decades, in the music business to have some sort of honesty and transparency in my music. You know, music is an emotion that brings all kinds of walks of life together for happiness and joy. And so I think I could walk out on the beach and, you know, people would be like, ‘Hey, man, it’s nice to meet you,’ but just keep it moving, like just keep walking, because that beach access doesn’t entitle you to a public beach.”
The 50-year-old recently sued the Walton County Sheriff’s Office in Florida for a writ of mandamus, claiming officials aren’t doing their part to help keep trespassers off of his private beach.
“It’s very frustrating, and this has been a humbling experience, I have to say, because [we’re] not getting any help, it’s not getting anywhere,” Littrell admitted. “Hopefully, we’ll get some sort of resolve or some sort of communication that will come out of this that will basically draw the line in the sand, no pun intended, where, ‘Hey, just keep it moving. This is private.’ We don’t want any qualms.”
BACKSTREET BOYS’ BRIAN LITTRELL SAYS BEACH TRESPASSERS ARE ‘COMING AFTER’ HIS FAMILY AMID FLORIDA LAWSUIT
He added, “So, we’re about the truth and the law. It’s just that simple.”
Littrell said that he now fears for his safety in his backyard at the beach home where he’s lived for three years.
“The frustrating thing is that we’re not getting any help, you know, we’re not getting any law enforcement down there … and we know the law, because we’re taxpayers,” he said. “It shouldn’t be that difficult.”
The tipping point for him was a couple of weeks ago. “My wife called 911 three times and nobody showed. Nobody showed at all. We had trespassers on our property. They were filming. They were using our stuff and our equipment, and our beach stuff, and, no, she’s not gonna walk out there by herself. And the third time she called 911, the dispatch lady hung up on her. So this is a heartfelt plea for all property owners that you have rights. You know, we have rights just like everybody else.”

“So, this is a heartfelt plea for all property owners that you have rights. You know, we have rights just like everybody else.”
He said the police are trying to protect the public, “but they forget that we are part of the public, too, because we are beachfront owners. So, there just has to be a line in the sand, no pun intended. There has to some sort of line where we have boundaries.”
BACKSTREET BOYS SINGER’S FLORIDA BEACH HOME LAWSUIT FOLLOWS SYLVESTER STALLONE’S BATTLE OVER WATERFRONT ESTATE
The Walton County Sheriff’s Office told Fox News Digital it doesn’t “comment on pending litigation,” adding it “prides itself on handling every situation, call for service, or interaction with professionalism using a customer service approach. This has always been our philosophy and will continue to be moving forward.”
Peter Ticktin, Littrell’s lawyer, told Fox News Digital that they had already won a lawsuit to prove that Brian owned the beach behind his house, but “They’re still coming, they’re still there, because they have a purpose in mind.”

Ticktin claimed the alleged trespassers believe that someone who works hard shouldn’t necessarily have the right to have their own private beach.
“The fact is that if you’ve got talent, and you work really, really hard, you get to be someplace in this world where you can afford to buy a piece of property, and it’s yours,” he said. “That’s the American dream. And to have these people invade his backyard and then to have the sheriffs come and talk to them and tell them they can stay there only encourages them to do more and more wrong, to the point where they actually are assaulting the security people that had to be hired to be able to protect the property.”
He added, “They hate entitlement, but they’re the ones that are seemingly claiming an entitlement to not only be where they don’t belong, but to assault people in the process.”

Littrell said his American Dream was to own a little beach home “that we could go and enjoy and watch the sunset and take pictures and live out memories.”
He continued, “I’m in my 50s now … I mean, come on. Like, I want to start slowing down a little bit and I want to start enjoying life and I don’t want to make the news for this kind of stuff. It’s just, it’s kind of frustrating. I want to make news about positive music that’s changing the world, because we’re still at it. We’re still doing great, and that’s a blessing. And it’s like, just because I work hard for it, it’s not entitled to everybody else.”
Littrell said he had no intention to sell the house.

“We have a tiny little piece of paradise that we literally prayed for. I mean, we seriously prayed for a place like this for almost 30 years,” he said, adding, “The beach makes you feel small. So, you know, it’s a great place to write songs, too. And you feel smaller than life when you go to the beach. You don’t feel larger than life. You feel smaller than life. You know, I don’t wanna be chased out of an area that I love.”
Freddie Prinze Jr. shares key to 23-year union with Sarah Michelle Gellar
Freddie Prinze Jr. reflected on the secret behind his 23-year marriage to actress Sarah Michelle Gellar.
During a recent interview with Variety, the 49-year-old actor candidly opened up about how he and Gellar, 48, have kept their relationship strong in Hollywood.
“Marriage is hard no matter what business you’re in,” the “She’s All That” star said. “What works for us might not work for everyone else.”
He continued, “We work at it. I’m not perfect. She’s not perfect. We piss each other off, but we respect one another. We were friends first.”
SARAH MICHELLE GELLAR SIZZLES IN SWIMSUIT DURING TROPICAL GETAWAY
“Maybe that’s the secret? It wasn’t just “Oh, she’s hot, he’s hot — let’s hook up,” he added. “But I know people who’ve done it the other way, and their relationships are just as strong as mine.”
Gellar and Prinze Jr. first met while filming the hit 1997 horror movie “I Know What You Did Last Summer.” However, sparks didn’t immediately fly between the two.
In a 2001 interview with People, Prinze Jr. admitted that the future couple “really didn’t dig each other” at first.
“Then one day I gave her a ride to the gym,” he said. “We talked on the way up, and she was a cool chick.”
The pair became friends, but their relationship didn’t turn romantic until three years later. During a joint interview with People Now in 2020, Gellar and Prinze Jr. explained how they accidentally went on a first date.
“We were friends for a very long time. We’d had many dinners before. And we were supposed to go with someone else, and the third person didn’t make it out and we decided to still go,” the “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” alum recalled.
“We were just two people at dinner catching up,” Gellar continued. “We had a long car ride and a long dinner and things just happened.”
Prinze Jr. told the outlet that he completely lost interest in seeing other women after his first date with Gellar.
“I didn’t go on dates with other girls, nor did I even want to pursue dates with other girls,” he said.
The couple announced their engagement in 2001 and tied the knot a year later in Mexico when Gellar was 24 and Prinze was 26.
Prinze Jr. and Gellar, who also co-starred in 2002’s “Scooby-Doo” and the 2004 sequel “Scooby-Doo: Monsters Unleashed,” welcomed their first child, daughter Charlotte Grace, in 2009. In 2012, Gellar gave birth to their son, Rocky James.

While speaking with Variety, Prinze Jr. explained how he treasured his family life with Gellar and their children.
“I just love my kids,” he said. “My daughter is away for the summer, and I hate it. I like hanging out with my son — he’s really funny. I love my wife, man. I married her for a reason.”
During a December 2024 interview with Fox News Digital, Gellar weighed in on the key to an enduring union. She also expressed her view that changes in societal values had led to the decline of long-lasting relationships.
“I think everything takes work in you, whether it’s a friendship or a work relationship or a marriage,” the “Dexter: Original Sin” star said.

“You have to put the work in,” she continued. “And we live in an extremely disposable society now.”
“Your phone breaks, you don’t fix it. You get a new one,” Gellar added. “And I think that’s a lot of the attitude toward relationships.”
“And I don’t know, maybe separate bathrooms,” the actress joked.
Prinze Jr. is currently starring in the 2025 version of “I Know What You Did Last Summer,” which was released on Friday. The actor reprised his role as Ray Bronson in the legacy sequel to the first movie in the four-part franchise.
The couple’s former co-star Jennifer Love Hewitt also returned to play the original film’s protagonist, Julie James. Hewitt and Prinze Jr. previously reunited in the 1998 sequel “I Still Know What You Did Last Summer.”

Sheriff eyes dead inmate as suspect in TV anchor’s 30-year disappearance
Jodi Huisentruit was on her way to work in the early-morning hours of June 27, 1995, when she vanished. Thirty years later, a sheriff has wondered whether a suspected serial killer could have been involved.
The case of the missing Iowa news anchor is being explored in a new ABC News Studios documentary, “Her Last Broadcast: The Abduction of Jodi Huisentruit.” It features interviews with Huisentruit’s loved ones, investigators, and others closely connected to the case.
The film takes a deep dive into four persons of interest, including Wisconsin Rapids native Christopher Revak.
NEW PERSON OF INTEREST EMERGES IN DOCUMENTARY ON DECADES-OLD DISAPPEARANCE OF IOWA NEWS ANCHOR
“I think anytime you have a case that’s gone on for this long, certainly [the serial killer idea] is something that law enforcement thinks about or has maybe heard those theories before,” Maria Awes, executive producer of the documentary, told Fox News Digital.
“I think in Jodi’s case, there is an individual who is discussed in the program who is believed to be responsible for two murders – one in Missouri and one in Wisconsin. He has an extremely unique connection to Jodi’s case in terms of … his one-time girlfriend, with whom he was on the outs with … was living in the same duplex as John Vansice, [a friend] who has long been a person of interest in Jodi’s case.”
“… Jodi was last seen, reportedly by John Vansice, at his duplex,” Awes shared. “Could somebody else have seen her there, followed her, or tracked her down? That’s one of the things we talked about in this film. I think there’s always this possibility. The police don’t know who did it. And I think there are some really interesting and compelling reasons to take a look at this new individual who is being mentioned here in this show.”
In 2024, KCCI Des Moines reported that Iowa and Wisconsin investigators were focusing on Revak, who killed himself in a jail cell in 2009 after he was charged with the 2007 death of Rene Williams, a bartender at the Eagles Lodge in Ava, Missouri.
According to the documentary, police wondered whether Revak may have been connected to five different homicides within 14 years. Huistentruit’s disappearance made their list of suspected cases that Revak may have been involved in.
“When I started working on the Christopher Revak case, he was my suspect in the murder of Rene Williams,” Douglas County Sheriff Chris Degase told Fox News Digital. “I didn’t think it was his first go around at it.”
FOLLOW THE FOX TRUE CRIME TEAM ON X
“I did a search [for] women abducted in bars,” he shared. “It popped up that Deidre Harm was abducted in Wisconsin Rapids. I saw a composite drawing of the suspect, who was, no doubt, Christopher Revak.”
Degase didn’t rule out the possibility that Revak could have traveled to Iowa at one point.
“Obviously, [Jodi] wasn’t abducted from a bar, but I just thought it was odd,” Degase told Fox News Digital, who is also heard in the documentary discussing the Revak case.
Degase noted that, like Huisentruit, Williams has never been found.
“I don’t believe in coincidences,” said Degase. “I called the authorities out there and gave them the information I had.”
When asked whether “suspected serial killer” was an accurate description for Revak, Degase replied, “Absolutely – I gave him that.”
Degase stressed that he personally felt that Revak was a suspect worth looking into.
“Christopher Revak is deceased,” said Degase. “He died in my jail. He hanged himself in my jail shortly after I arrested him. So, I don’t know if they’ve completely dismissed him as a person of interest in the [Huisentruit] case. [But] I’m sure they’ve checked into it.”

In response to the persons of interest listed in the documentary, the Mason City Police Department told Fox News Digital in a statement: “MCPD continues to investigate Jodi Huisentruit’s disappearance and hopes that the current information is able to produce useful leads that help bring some closure to the case for the family and our community. We have not discussed suspects or persons of interest with the media in the past and do not intend to start doing so now.”
In the documentary, Mason City Police Investigator Terrance Prochaska pointed out that Revak’s ex-girlfriend was not living at the duplex in question at the time of Huisentruit’s abduction. She had moved out three months before Huisentruit went missing. However, a theory was proposed that Revak could have possibly tracked down his ex’s former address and went looking for her in the area.

“Until there’s documentation to prove that Revak wasn’t in Mason City when Jodi vanished, he remains a person of interest for police,” said Awes in the documentary.
Awes told Fox News Digital that she doesn’t lean on any specific person of interest. Her goal with the film, she said, was to help raise awareness of Huisentruit’s disappearance in hopes it would spark fresh leads for investigators.
“… Certainly, people may form their own opinions,” said Awes. “But what I do think is that all the persons of interest that are featured here, I think there are a lot of really strong, compelling bits of information that viewers will gravitate towards in terms of forming their own theories about what might have happened.”
Huisentruit, a native of Long Prairie, Minnesota, was on her way to work as a morning anchor at KIMT-TV in Mason City, Iowa, when she vanished.
After the 27-year-old didn’t make it to work by 7 a.m., Mason City Police were notified. Her vehicle was found at her apartment, along with a bent car key, her high heels and signs of a struggle.
To date, she is believed to have been abducted, but extensive investigations have failed to uncover any concrete evidence as to what happened or where her remains could be.

“One of the things that always … resonated with me is that there are a lot of persons of interest related to this case that have been looked at over the years,” Awes explained.
“I think it’s easy to take a look at each individual and think, ‘Of course, it must be this person. Look at all the different pieces of circumstantial evidence.’ But then you also think, ‘But what about this other person?’ There are just a lot of people who, I think, warrant an investigation related to whether or not they could have been involved.”
“I think what surprises me is just that there are a lot of folks who’ve been mentioned as a potential person who may be responsible, someone who has a missing link, a piece of information. . . . Somebody has to come forward with answers.”
Awes noted that at the time, Huisentruit’s apartment was dusted for fingerprints.
“Fingerprints were the thing back then,” she said. “Sometimes that fingerprint dust can erode the ability to get DNA from things. But I think that what you have here is an opportunity to take advantage of … new testing techniques and new ways to potentially look at this evidence again.”
And investigators are “extremely hopeful” to find out what happened to Huisentruit, she said.

“They have never lost hope,” said Awes. “I think everyone feels like it is solvable. They just need that one missing piece. And I hope that someone watching this will have that piece of information they need to solve this case.”
Awes also hopes the documentary will shed light on Huisentruit before she made headlines.
“She was a daughter, sister, colleague, friend – all these wonderful things,” Awes said. “I think it’s important to keep the memory of who she was alive. . . . If anyone out there knows anything, it’s been 30 years. Please come forward with information to law enforcement. Let’s get that information to the police so that we can hopefully solve this case once and for all.”
Caitlin Clark’s boyfriend goes viral after awkward kiss attempt as fans raise questions
Caitlin Clark’s boyfriend Connor McCaffery managed to give her a kiss on-camera at WNBA All-Star weekend, but just barely.
Viral footage of an interaction between the couple surfaced on Friday night, when Clark approach McCaffery in the ramparts of Gainbridge Field House. With cameras on them, McCaffery leaned in to kiss Clark, but as he did, she turned her head.
McCaffery managed a light kiss, on the side of her hair, as she walked away. McCaffery then put his head down.

The video prompted mixed reactions from fans, with many expressing suspicion and others expressing mockery.
McCaffery is an assistant men’s basketball coach at Butler University in Indiana. He was previously mocked on social media during a loss to Austin Peay in November, when the Fox College Hoops broadcast showed Clark sitting in the stands.
The broadcast name card identified her as “Caitlin Clark 2024 WNBA Rookie of the Year.” Then, when the camera turned to McCaffery on the sidelines, a name card identified him as “Connor McCaffery WNBA ROTY Caitlin Clark’s Boyfriend.”
But the broadcast even had to get McCaffery’s little brother involved in the gimmick.
After disregarding McCaffery’s title, his brother Patrick McCaffery, who is a player on Butler’s team, was shown with a name card that read, “Patrick McCaffery WNBA ROTY Caitlin Clark’s Boyfriend’s Brother.”

Like Clark, Connor played basketball at the University of Iowa, where the couple met. He played in 166 games at Iowa, all for his father, former Hawkeyes head coach Fran McCaffery.
Connor dealt with injuries throughout the majority of his college career, but a redshirt year and COVID-19 campaign allotted him six seasons. He reached the NCAA tournament in each of his full seasons, apart from his COVID season. He averaged 4.5 points and 3.0 rebounds, and played in 111 wins, tying Jordan Bohannon for most in program history. His career assist-to-turnover ratio of 3.59 (527 assists to 147 turnovers) is the second best in NCAA history.
The couple started dating in April 2023 after Clark had led Iowa on a run to the NCAA title game. But McCaffery was a senior at that time, and he began his coaching career right after graduating.
In May of that year, he began his career as an assistant coach for the Indiana Pacers. McCaffrey ended up with a job in Indiana before Clark even knew she was going to be playing for the Indiana Fever. By fate, the Fever finished with a bad enough record last season to earn the top pick in the WNBA Draft lottery this year, which sent Clark to Indiana, too.
Now, even with McCaffery’s new job, the Butler campus would be just seven miles from the Fever’s arena, Gainbridge Field House. So, their fates will stay in Indianapolis together for now.
Last August, during the WNBA Olympics break, the couple made a trip to New York City to watch a Yankees game. However, only Clark was seen being given a tour of the Yankees clubhouse, and only Clark took photos with star players Aaron Judge, Anthony Rizzo and Juan Soto.

Clark sent a birthday Instagram post in honor of McCaffery last Sunday as she and the team took on the Dallas Wings. Clark shared several snaps of her and McCaffery on social media as he turned 27.
“Happy happy happy birthday con. you make everyday better and I couldn’t be more grateful. may this be the best year yet, i love you,” she wrote in the caption of the post.

Below is a look at other stars, including Brad Pitt, Jennifer Aniston and Jessica Alba, who have been leaning into a summer full of romance after past relationships ran their course.
Jennifer Aniston
Jennifer Aniston has been getting cozy with a hypnotist this summer.
Earlier this month, the “Friends” star was seen enjoying a day at sea with rumored new beau Jim Curtis, who specializes in hypnotherapy, while aboard a yacht off the coast of Mallorca, Spain.
In a photo, Aniston is seen gently placing her hand on Curtis’ hand, while he has his arm around her waist.
The reported new couple were accompanied by actor Jason Bateman, wife Amanda Anka and Amy Schumer.
“[Jen and Jim are] casually dating and having fun.”
“[Jen and Jim are] casually dating and having fun,” an insider told People of the pair.
Aniston was previously married to Brad Pitt from 2000 to 2005 and to Justin Theroux from 2015 to 2018.
Brad Pitt
Brad Pitt has been romantically linked to Ines de Ramon since 2022 – two years before he finalized his divorce from Angelina Jolie.
Pitt and Ramon were first publicly photographed together at the British Grand Prix in 2024.
This summer, the couple were spotted at an event celebrating Pitt’s “F1” movie. In June, Pitt spoke to reporters at London’s Cineworld Leicester Square and expressed his pleasure in having Ramon by his side.
“Well, sure. You know, it takes two,” Pitt told Access.
Ramon was previously married to “Vampire Diaries” star Paul Wesley. Pitt and Jolie were battling out their divorce for eight years before settling in December 2024.
Sofía Vergara, Tom Brady
Earlier this month, Vergara and Brady sparked romance rumors.
Vergara and Brady posed for a photo on a Ritz-Carlton yacht during a star-studded European voyage, according to Page Six.
In the photo, the Hollywood actress is seen with her hands on her hips, eyes closed and smiling for the camera while reportedly being kissed on the forehead by singer J Balvin.
Brady flashed a smile and wore sunglasses while seated next to Vergara at a dinner table.
The pair have reportedly been spending time together in Ibiza, Spain, as a source described the situation as a “summer romance,” according to Page Six.
Despite the speculation, sources told TMZ the “romance” label on the two is “ridiculous.” The insiders claimed the time the two have spent together is nothing more than a summer fling.
Shortly after the romance rumors began, Brady, 47, shut down claims that the “Modern Family” actress, 53, is “too old” to date.
“Tom never said, nor would he ever say, anything like this. It is pure fiction,” his rep told People magazine.
Vergara has been a single woman since announcing her split from Joe Manganiello in 2023. The former couple finalized their divorce in February 2024. Both Vergara and Manganiello cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reasoning for the divorce.
Brady experienced his own divorce in 2022 from ex-wife Gisele Bündchen. Since the end of his marriage, the former NFL quarterback has been romantically linked to model Irina Shayk.
Tom Cruise, Ana de Armas
Romance rumors began to swirl when Ana de Armas and Tom Cruise were photographed together for the first time the night before Valentine’s Day.
On Feb. 13, the two were pictured walking through London’s Soho neighborhood as de Armas carried what appeared to be takeout bags from a restaurant. They stopped for photos with fans before leaving in a taxi together.
In April, the pair were spotted taking a leisurely stroll through a London park on de Armas’ 37th birthday.
The day before de Armas’ birthday, the Cuba native and Cruise were photographed as they disembarked a helicopter flown by the “Top Gun” star.
Two weeks earlier, the pair were spotted after another helicopter ride. On April 13, Cruise and de Armas were seen exiting the actor’s helicopter in London that took off from Madrid.
At the time, a source told People the pair were not romantically involved and were accompanied on the trip by director Doug Liman.
Cruise has been married three times. His first marriage to Mimi Rogers lasted from 1987 to 1990. His second marriage to Nicole Kidman lasted 11 years before their divorce in 2001. Cruise’s last marriage was to Katie Holmes. The pair tied the knot in 2006, the same year they welcomed their daughter, Suri. They divorced in 2012.
Armas was famously linked to Ben Affleck in 2019. The pair split in 2021.
Jessica Alba
Jessica Alba appears to be moving on after her split from Cash Warren.
Alba sparked romance rumors after she was spotted boarding a plane headed back to Los Angeles from Cancun with “Captain America” star Danny Ramirez, TMZ reported.
The outlet reported that the two spent time together in the sun-soaked town.
Despite the reported quick getaway, sources told People magazine that Alba isn’t dating anyone seriously, and is instead relishing her new role as a single woman months after the “Honey” actress petitioned a Los Angeles court to end her 16-year marriage.
In video obtained by TMZ, Ramirez, 32, and the “Fantastic Four” actress both attempted to go incognito by wearing snapback hats as they left Mexico for L.A. on Sunday afternoon.
Ramirez portrayed Lt. Mickey “Fanboy” Garcia in “Top Gun: Maverick,” and played Falcon in “Captain America: Brave New World.”
Alba has reportedly been on a few dates since announcing her split from Warren in February, insiders told People.
“She’s been getting a lot of attention since the divorce. She’s flattered and definitely enjoying being single again,” sources said.
“She’s gone on some dates, but it’s nothing serious — she’s focused on herself and her kids. She’s not interested in a relationship right now.”
