Trump declares ‘the war is over’ as he heads to Middle East to sign historic peace deal
President Donald Trump said Sunday that Hamas may release the 20 hostages it is holding “a little bit early.”
Trump spoke with reporters aboard Air Force One en route to the Middle East, where he was asked about the latest on the hostages and when they might be released.
“So, they have the hostages — I understand all 20 — and we may get them out a little bit early,” Trump said. “Getting them was amazing, actually, because we were involved, and they were in places you don’t want to know about.”
The president’s comments come as Hamas faces a deadline to return all remaining hostages to Israel, following a peace deal that ended the two-year-long Israel-Hamas war.
VANCE SAYS SOME DECEASED HOSTAGES MAY NEVER BE RECOVERED DESPITE TRUMP PEACE DEAL
The peace agreement, brokered by President Trump, sparked celebrations across a region plagued by violence since the Hamas terror attacks on Israel on Oct. 7, 2023.
Trump described the peace agreement as historic, saying it was the first time in 3,000 years that Jews, Muslims, and Arab nations were “dancing in the streets.” He said the deal had unified countries that were once bitter enemies and that Egypt, Saudi Arabia and other regional powers were “all into this deal.”
When asked about the fighting, Trump declared that the conflict had come to an end.
“The war is over,” the president said.
TRUMP’S WEEK IN REVIEW: PRESIDENT SECURES HISTORIC PEACE DEAL TO BRING HOSTAGES HOME AS SHUTDOWN CONTINUES
He expressed confidence that the ceasefire would hold, saying people were “tired” of centuries of conflict.
“Everybody knows their place,” Trump said, adding that peace “is going to be great for everybody.”
The president said rebuilding Gaza would begin quickly, though he cautioned that the region resembled a “demolition site.” He said reconstruction would start with clearing unstable structures and restoring basic services before long-term redevelopment begins.
Trump also said a new governing body known as the “Board of Peace” would be formed soon, with international leaders seeking to take part. He mentioned Tony Blair as a potential participant but said he wanted to ensure the former British prime minister would be an “acceptable choice.”
Trump acknowledged that Hamas has begun forming a local police force and said the U.S. granted temporary approval for that effort to help maintain order. He estimated that Hamas had lost “probably 60,000 people” in the conflict and said ensuring safety as civilians return was now a priority.
TRUMP PEACE DEAL TRIGGERS 72-HOUR COUNTDOWN FOR HAMAS TO RELEASE 48 HOSTAGES FROM GAZA
He praised Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as “the right person at this time,” revealing that Netanyahu had nominated him for the Nobel Peace Prize. Trump said Netanyahu “did a very good job” during the conflict and that their relationship remained strong.
Earlier on Sunday, Vice President JD Vance warned that some of the hostages who were killed while in captivity by Hamas may never be returned to their families.
“The reality is that some of the hostages may never get back, but I do think, with some effort, we’ll be able to give them to their families so they at least have some closure,” Vance said on Fox News’ “Sunday Morning Futures.”
He continued, noting that while rescuing living hostages remains the Trump administration’s top priority, returning the remains of those killed is also an important effort to give families closure.
“We do want to give these people the ability to have a proper burial with their loved ones who were murdered by brutal terrorists, and that matters to us,” Vance said. “It matters to the families, and it will remain a focus, but it’s going to take some time.”

The vice president stopped short of certainly, though, saying he believes most of the victims’ remains – but not all – will eventually be recovered.
Trump AG responds to ‘SNL’ mockery with surprisingly positive X comment
U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi gave a playful response to actress Amy Poehler’s parody of her on NBC’s “Saturday Night Live.”
Poehler, who hosted Saturday’s episode, appeared in the cold open as Bondi during her testimony at a Senate Judiciary Committee oversight hearing last week.
“My name is Pam Bondi. I spell it with an ‘i,’ because I ain’t gonna answer any of your questions,” Poehler said. “My time is valuable. The DOJ has many ongoing operations, and we’re moving like Kash Patel’s eyeballs—very quickly in multiple directions at once.”

During the skit, Poehler was later joined by her fellow former “SNL” cast member Tina Fey, who played Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Kristi Noem carrying an AR-15 rifle.
“That’s right. It’s me, Kristi Noem,” Fey said. “I spell my name with an ‘i’ because that’s how I thought it was spelled. And I’m the rarest type of person in Washington, D.C.: a brunette that Donald Trump listens to.”
Though the show took many jabs at Bondi’s demeanor during the hearing, Bondi appeared to enjoy the parody on Sunday morning and invited Noem to respond on X.

“@Sec_Noem, should we recreate this picture in Chicago? Loving Amy Poehler!” Bondi wrote.
In a comment to Fox News Digital, DHS assistant secretary Tricia McLaughlin simply responded, “SNL is absolutely right—the Democrats’ shutdown does need to end!”
The long-running sketch comedy series has often mocked President Donald Trump and his administration, usually with some backlash from Trump himself. However, the show’s 51st season premiere went largely unremarked on by the president despite another parody of him by cast member James Austin Johnson.

“Reacting to this would require me to waste my time watching it,” Jackson said. “And like the millions of Americans who have tuned out from SNL, I have more entertaining things to do — like watch paint dry.”
Former Canadian PM caught in steamy embrace with pop star after recent split
Katy Perry and Justin Trudeau are putting their romance on display.
In photos obtained by Fox News Digital, the new couple was spotted sharing some PDA while aboard Perry’s yacht, the Caravelle, off the coast of Santa Barbara last week.
In one frame, the former Canadian prime minister is seen kissing the “Dark Horse” crooner’s cheek while pulling her in close for a hug. In another frame, Perry – who was wearing a dark-colored swimsuit – cozied up to Trudeau as the 53-year-old former Canadian prime minister placed his hand on her bottom.

A representative for Perry did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital’s request for comment.
The pair were first spotted dining together in July at Le Violon in Montréal, per footage obtained by TMZ.
An eyewitness told the outlet that the pair enjoyed cocktails and shared several dishes together, including one with lobster.

Security guards reportedly watched the duo while they dined, and after dinner, they allegedly walked into the kitchen to thank the staff for their meal.
Days after the pair were spotted dining together, Trudeau attended the “Teenage Dream” crooner’s sold-out concert in Canada.

Perry and her former fiancé confirmed their breakup in July after more than a decade together.
“Due to the abundance of recent interest and conversation surrounding Orlando Bloom and Katy Perry’s relationship, representatives have confirmed that Orlando and Katy have been shifting their relationship over the past many months to focus on co-parenting,” a representative for the former couple told People.
“They will continue to be seen together as a family, as their shared priority is – and always will be – raising their daughter with love, stability, and mutual respect.”
At the time, a source told People that both Perry and Bloom had been living “on an island of stress” for months.
“Katy and Orlando have been suffering through the same problems that have plagued them for years,” the source said. “[They had] too much going on in their lives, which makes it hard to find time for each other and iron out disagreements. When they don’t communicate properly, their relationship dips to a low level.”
“Sometimes love isn’t enough to keep two people with different styles and outlooks on how things are done [together],” another source told the outlet. “It can overshadow the love.”

Packers coach’s last-second timeout denies Bengals kicker chance at NFL history
Cincinnati Bengals kicker Evan McPherson almost rewrote the NFL record books on Sunday when he lined up for a 67-yard field goal to end the first half against the Green Bay Packers.
McPherson’s kick banged off the crossbar of the goal post and went through the uprights. Unfortunately, Packers head coach Matt LaFleur called a timeout before the kick went off, and it didn’t count.
The longest field goal in NFL history is 66 yards, knocked in by former Baltimore Ravens kicker Justin Tucker. McPherson put his all into the kick, and with a little help from the wind at his back, it would’ve finally put the Bengals on the board.

Instead, McPherson was forced to try the kick again, and he didn’t have the same muscle in his kick as it was a few yards short. Packers cornerback Keisean Nixon had the opportunity to return the kick, but he didn’t get far as the half came to an end.
While Tucker owns the record after hitting the kick in 2021, Jacksonville Jaguars kicker Cam Little hit a 70-yard field goal, but it was in a preseason game. So, that stands as an unofficial record despite the incredible feat.
At the time, the Bengals could’ve certainly used those points as they were struggling on offense yet again, though they have a new quarterback under center.
Cincinnati made the surprising trade with their division-rival Cleveland Browns to acquire veteran Joe Flacco, as Jake Browning hadn’t panned out since the Joe Burrow injury earlier in the season.
Head coach Zac Taylor is hoping to get his offense going more with Flacco at the helm, though the first half was no indication of such production.

The Bengals couldn’t put anything on the board, while their defense held the Packers to just 10 points.
Trump offers conciliatory tone after China responds to tariff threat
President Donald Trump moved to calm fears of an escalating trade war with Beijing on Sunday after he threatened to impose 100% tariffs on China’s imports in response to the nation’s export curbs on rare earth minerals.
Trump’s new tariffs on China would amount to a big increase over the current average 55% levy.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump said that China’s economic troubles would “all be fine” and insisted that the U.S. “wants to help China, not hurt it.”
“Don’t worry about China, it will all be fine!” Trump wrote. “Highly respected President Xi just had a bad moment. He doesn’t want depression for his country, and neither do I. The U.S.A. wants to help China, not hurt it!!!”

The post came hours after China issued an official response to Trump’s threat to impose a 100% tariff on Chinese imports by Nov. 1, warning Washington not to resort to “threats” and pledging to “resolutely take corresponding measures” if the U.S. proceeds.
“China’s stance is consistent,” the Commerce Ministry said in a statement Sunday.
“We do not want a tariff war, but we are not afraid of one.” The ministry urged the U.S. to address differences “through dialogue,” calling repeated tariff threats “not the correct way to get along with China.”

Beijing suggested it would retaliate against any new levies the U.S. may impose on Chinese imports.
Sunday’s exchanges pointed to a turn in a trade truce between the world’s two largest economies.
Trump’s threat was initially triggered by new Chinese restrictions on the export of rare earths, or minerals that are crucial to advanced manufacturing and military technology.
China controls about 70% of global rare earths mining and nearly 90% of processing capacity.

Vice President JD Vance also defended Trump’s stance in an appearance on Fox News, where he called Beijing’s dominance in key supply chains “the definition of a national emergency.”
“It’s going to be a delicate dance and a lot of it is going to depend on how the Chinese respond. If they respond in a highly aggressive manner, I guarantee you the President of the United States has far more cards than the People’s Republic of China,” Vance said on “Sunday Morning Futures.”
Trump’s tariff threat and China’s response have also cast doubt on a meeting happening with Xi later this year.

China’s Commerce Ministry said it would continue to grant export licenses for legitimate civilian uses of rare earths but warned that “if the U.S. side obstinately insists on its practice,” Beijing would act to protect its interests.

‘I felt like a valet’: Charlie Sheen opens up about living in famous brother’s shadow
Charlie Sheen is getting real about what it was like having a brother who was a member of the infamous Brat Pack.
During an appearance on Conan O’Brien’s podcast, “Conan O’Brien Needs a Friend,” on Oct. 6, Sheen discussed how he felt when his brother, Emilio Estevez, was at the height of his fame as a member of the Brat Pack, while he hadn’t had his breakthrough in the industry yet.
“It felt awful,” Sheen said. “I felt like I was just taking up the rear. I felt like a valet on certain nights.”
The Brat Pack was a group of young actors in the 1980s who frequently appeared in films together. It included big celebrities, such as Rob Lowe, Demi Moore, Estevez, Molly Ringwald, Anthony Michael Hall, Andrew McCarthy, Judd Nelson and Ally Sheedy.
CHARLIE SHEEN’S EXCESSIVE DRUG HABIT WAS SO EXTREME EVEN CARTELS REFUSED TO KEEP UP WITH DEMAND
After appearing in some of the biggest movies of the decade, including “The Breakfast Club,” “The Outsiders” and “Sixteen Candles,” the pack started getting more and more attention. Sheen said that while he “was in the mix” and hanging out with his brother and the other actors at “all the VIP lounges and all the special places,” he still felt out of place.
“It felt the worst… when [they got] all the attention from all the pretty girls… and they would all go home with them, and I would just go home,” Sheen said. “I think there’s a line in [my new] book that my inner bear had been poked, and it lit a fire, and you could see it from the f—ing moon.”
He went on to explain that he “didn’t give a s— about acting” and that his jealousy never stemmed from his desire to act, but that he wasn’t “part of all of the perks” his brother was getting.
Sheen previously opened up about what it was like being in the shadows of his older brother in that time period, saying “I felt so small and left out as I watched the Emilio-steered throng.” He later added that being out with them and a “bevy of gorgeous gals was like being shipwrecked with a fat guy – you’re gonna starve.”

In addition to his roles in “Platoon” and the hit sitcom, “Two and a Half Men,” Sheen has made headlines throughout his career for his struggles with drugs and alcohol, which began in the 80s and 90s. After multiple stints in rehab, the actor got sober in 2017.
“It felt the worst… when [they got] all the attention from all the pretty girls… and they would all go home with them, and I would just go home.”
“There really aren’t challenges with sobriety,” he told Fox News Digital in September. “I’m not connected to the people of the past… If I were to go back to those choices to numb myself, get out of my head, or feel differently, I have so much evidence that it’s only going to make things worse and more complicated. I’d suddenly be steeped in shame. And with that comes deceit and manipulation. All that c— doesn’t fit in anymore.”

When speaking about his decision to get sober, he explained that he “finally decided that I was going to make AA a place that I passed through and not wound up in” which made him feel as if he was “the captain of my own ship.”
In the Netflix documentary “aka Charlie Sheen,” the actor spoke about his first intervention, explaining he thought he was going to his father’s birthday party but walked into a room full of his friends and family, who read him letters about how they feel. He recalled trying to think of ways to get out of going to treatment when his dad handed him the phone with Clint Eastwood on the other end of the line.

Sheen finally got clean in 2017. “You have to be willing,” he told People magazine. “I keep a [mental list] of the worst, most shameful things I’ve done, and I can look at that in my head if I feel like having a drink.”
Diane Keaton’s heartbreaking final moments captured in 911 audio from her LA home
More details surrounding Diane Keaton’s death continue to emerge.
According to the 911 audio obtained by TMZ, a dispatcher revealed there was a “person down” in the early hours of Saturday morning.
“Rescue 19, person down,” the dispatcher said on Oct. 11, before revealing the actress’ address. The outlet reported that Keaton was transported to a local hospital by the Los Angeles Fire Department.
DIANE KEATON DEAD AT 79 IN CALIFORNIA FOLLOWING LEGENDARY HOLLYWOOD CAREER: REPORT
Keaton died at the age of 79, her family confirmed to People magazine.
A close friend of the Hollywood icon told the outlet that Keaton’s health had rapidly declined.
“She declined very suddenly, which was heartbreaking for everyone who loved her,” a friend of the Oscar winner told People. “It was so unexpected, especially for someone with such strength and spirit.”
“In her final months, she was surrounded only by her closest family, who chose to keep things very private. Even longtime friends weren’t fully aware of what was happening,” the friend added.
Grammy and Oscar-winning songwriter Carole Bayer Sager detailed her final visit with Keaton just weeks before her death.
“I saw her two or three weeks ago, and she was very thin,” Sager, who co-wrote Keaton’s single, “First Christmas,” told People. “She had lost so much weight.”
“She had to go to Palm Springs because her house had been damaged inside [from the L.A. wildfires], and they had to clean everything,” she continued. “She was down there for a while, and when she came back, I was kind of stunned by how much weight she’d lost.”
Despite her health struggles, said Sager, “she was a magic light for everyone.”
“I just loved her. She was so special, she just lit up a room with her energy. She was happy and upbeat and taking photographs of everything she saw. She was completely creative; she never stopped creating.”
Another friend of the star said Keaton “was funny right up until the end.”
“She lived exactly how she wanted to, which was on her own terms, surrounded by the people and things she really loved,” the friend told People. “In these last few years, she kept a close circle and she liked it that way. She was funny right up until the end and she had this way of making even ordinary moments feel special. That was just who she was.”
After news broke of Keaton’s passing, there was an outpouring of tributes to the Hollywood legend from her former co-stars and other celebrities.

Goldie Hawn, Steve Martin, Kimberly Williams-Paisley were among the many stars who honored Keaton’s legacy.
Martin, who played Keaton’s on-screen husband in the hit 1991 comedy “Father of the Bride” and its 1995 sequel “Father of the Bride II,” which also starred Martin Short, shared a humorous remembrance of the actress as he posted a screenshot of quotes from a joint interview with his co-stars.
“Who’s sexier? Me or Steve Martin?” Short asked in the article, published by Interview magazine in 2021.
“I mean, you’re both idiots,” Keaton replied.
“Don’t know who first posted this, but it sums up our delightful relationship with Diane,” Martin wrote in the caption.
Williams-Paisley, who portrayed Annie Banks, the daughter of Martin’s George Banks and Keaton’s Nina Banks in the “Father of the Bride” movies, commented on the “Only Murders in the Building” star’s post, writing, “I can absolutely hear her saying that,” adding a crying laughing smiley face emoji.
Williams-Paisley also shared her own Instagram tribute to Keaton, posting photos of herself with her on-screen mother.
“Diane, working with you will always be one of the highlights of my life,” Williams-Paisley wrote in the caption. “You are one of a kind, and it was thrilling to be in your orbit for a time. Thank you for your kindness, your generosity, your talent, and above all, your laughter.”
Hawn, who co-starred with Keaton and Bette Midler in the 1996 hit ensemble comedy “The First Wives Club,” shared an emotional post on Instagram.

“Diane, we aren’t ready to lose you. You’ve left us with a trail of fairy dust, filled with particles of light and memories beyond imagination,” Hawn wrote alongside a photo of Keaton.
She continued: “How do we say goodbye? What words can come to mind when your heart is broken? You never liked praise, so humble, but now you can’t tell me to ‘shut up’ honey. There was, and will be, no one like you. You stole the hearts of the world and shared your genius with millions, making films that made us laugh and cry in ways only you could.”
“I was blessed to make ‘First Wives Club’ with you, our days starting with coffee in the makeup trailer, laughing and joking, right through to the very last day of filming,” Hawn added. “It was a roller coaster of love.
“We agreed to grow old together, and one day, maybe live together with all our girlfriends,” Hawn wrote. “Well, we never got to live together, but we did grow older together. Who knows… maybe in the next life.
“Shine your fairy dust up there, girlfriend. I’m going to miss the hell out of you. My heart goes out to your beautiful children, Dex and Duke,” the Academy Award winner concluded.
Midler also paid tribute to Keaton, posting a black-and-white image of the actress on her Instagram page along with a heartfelt caption.
“The brilliant, beautiful, extraordinary Diane Keaton has died,” she wrote. “I cannot tell you how unbearably sad this makes me.
“She was hilarious, a complete original, and completely without guile, or any of the competitiveness one would have expected from such a star,” Midler added. “What you saw was who she was…oh, la, lala!”

Popular destination plans major tourism tax hike to preserve local culture
Japan’s ancient capital is taking drastic steps to rein in overtourism.
Starting in March 2026, Kyoto will introduce the highest accommodation tax in Japan, charging visitors more to stay in the city’s hotels, inns and guesthouses.
Under the new system, tourists at high-end hotels could pay up to ¥10,000 (about $65) per person, per night, in tourism taxes: a tenfold increase from current rates.
Budget travelers will also see jumps from about ¥200 to ¥400 (about $1.30 to $2.60), while mid-range rooms will jump from ¥500 to ¥1,000 (about $3.30 to $6.50) per person.
COASTAL CITY GREENLIGHTS NEW VISITOR TAX AMID WIDESPREAD OVERTOURISM TREND
City officials say the extra funds are expected to more than double Kyoto’s tourism tax revenue and will go toward managing crowds, preserving cultural sites, and easing strain on local infrastructure.
LOCALS RANT THEIR NEIGHBORHOOD NOW ‘LIKE DISNEYLAND’ AS POST-OLYMPICS TOURISM SURGES
When applying to hike the fee, Kyoto travel authorities insisted that tourists should bear the cost of maintaining the very attractions that draw them into the city.
While tourism drives Kyoto’s economy, many residents say the city has become nearly unlivable in peak seasons. Narrow streets clogged with selfie-snapping visitors, and popular districts like Gion, known for its traditional tea houses and geisha, have attempted to crack down on tourists after incidents of trespassing and aggressive photography. Japanese media reports these efforts have been unsuccessful.
‘CARBON PASSPORTS’ WOULD TRACK TRAVEL AND EVEN RESTRICT HOW SOME PEOPLE TAKE VACATION
The new tax aims to fund enforcement and reduce friction between visitors and locals, but critics warn it may not go far enough. Japan welcomed more than 35 million foreign tourists in 2024, and officials hope to reach 60 million by 2030.
Kyoto isn’t alone in feeling the squeeze. Fox News Digital previously reported that Mount Fuji, another of Japan’s iconic destinations, is dealing with its own side effects of booming tourism.

Kyoto’s move may be a sign of what’s ahead for other tourist-heavy regions. As Japan’s popularity surges, cities are being forced to choose between economic opportunity and preserving the peace that makes them so popular in the first place.
49ers lose star defensive player after gruesome injury shocks teammates
San Francisco 49ers star linebacker Fred Warner suffered a gruesome ankle injury that led to him getting an air cast and carted off the field against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday afternoon.
The injury occurred midway through the first quarter, as Buccaneers running back Rachaad White picked up a 10-yard run with Ji’Ayir Brown tackling him. But, while making the play to get White down on the turf, Brown rolled into Warner, and it appeared his ankle got caught underneath his body.
A video review showed the brutal nature of the injury, and both 49ers and Buccaneers players were motioning to the sideline to have medical personnel come out quickly. Buccaneers receiver Tez Johnson was one of those, and he even put his hands on his helmet in disbelief after seeing Warner’s injury up close.

It wasn’t long before the 49ers’ medical team put an air cast on Warner, and he was on the back of a cart on the way to the tunnel. Warner seemed in disbelief as he stared onto the field.
49ers head coach Kyle Shanan revealed the diagnosis for Warner after the 30-19 loss, saying that he will be out for the remainder of the season as he needs surgery after suffering a discloated and broken ankle on the play.

San Francisco has already lost star defensive end Nick Bosa, who tore his ACL in Week 3 against the Arizona Cardinals. Warner, the middle linebacker who is a defensive captain for the 49ers, would be a massive loss.
Warner came into this game leading the 49ers in tackles (50) as well as being second on the team in passes defended (3). Warner has also forced two fumbles and recovered one this season.
