Members of the National Guard helped break up a violent street brawl in Southeast Washington, D.C., Wednesday night after a woman allegedly stabbed a man with a 12-inch kitchen knife.

Tiana Robinson, 31, of Southeast, D.C., was charged with assault with a dangerous weapon, according to the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD). Kenneth Evans, 29, of Southeast, D.C., was charged with simple assault.

Just before 8 p.m. Wednesday, MPD officers and members of the National Guard responded to a brawl after being flagged down by a concerned citizen.

During the fight, a man was stabbed in the hand with what he described as a foot-long kitchen knife, according to a court affidavit obtained by Fox News Digital. He was later taken to Howard University Hospital for treatment.

Investigators said the confrontation started as the victim and his cousin were leaving a restaurant, heading to the Navy Yard Metro Station, and realized a man and woman were following them.

An argument ensued, and Evans allegedly punched the victim’s cousin in the face “out of nowhere” with a closed fist, prompting the victim to step in, according to witnesses.

During the struggle, Robinson allegedly swung a large knife at the victim, causing a deep cut in his palm.

Several National Guard members who were on patrol nearby witnessed the fight and stepped in to break it up, according to court documents.

Multiple witnesses told police they saw one of the suspects holding a knife during the fight, though police were only able to find a blood trail and no weapon.

A 53-year-old staff member at a Massachusetts school died Thursday after being struck in the chest by a 14-year-old student during an incident inside a dormitory, according to the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office.

The district attorney’s office confirmed to Fox News Digital that on Wednesday at 6:55 p.m., a 14-year-old student attempted to leave her dorm building at the Meadowridge Academy in Swansea, Massachusetts, without permission.

As staff, including 53-year-old Amy Morrell, and other employees intervened to stop her, the student allegedly kicked Morrell in the chest.

The staffer collapsed and staff immediately performed CPR and called 911, the DA’s office said. Swansea EMS transported her to a hospital, where she remained overnight in critical condition. The following afternoon, Morrell was pronounced dead. Authorities have not yet released an official cause of death.

VICTIM’S GIRLFRIEND AMONG 9 TEENS ARRESTED IN 16-YEAR-OLD’S BEACH TOWN MURDER

The unidentified 14-year-old student was charged with assault and battery causing serious bodily injury and arraigned Thursday in Fall River Juvenile Court. The investigation is being handled by Swansea Police and the Massachusetts State Police Detective Unit assigned to the Bristol County DA’s office.

According to Meadowridge Academy, the school is a residential therapeutic school in Swansea serving youths ages 12 to 21 with behavioral, mental health or trauma-related challenges. It’s located about 50 miles south of Boston.

911 CALLS, POLICE REPORT DETAILS DARK TIMELINE TO ARIZONA GIRL’S TRAGIC DEATH

In earlier years, Meadowridge garnered scrutiny in a report by the Disability Law Center, which found substantiated incidents of abuse and neglect between 2014 and 2016. However, the report concluded that the school had taken extensive corrective actions, such as increasing surveillance video placement, revising reporting protocols and enhancing staff training.

A spokesperson for Meadowridge Academy told Fox News Digital the community is “deeply saddened” by Morrell’s passing, and that support services are being made available for both students and staff.

“We extend our heartfelt condolences to Amy’s family during this difficult time,” they said.

Pennsylvania governor reveals coffee shop confrontation with Biden: ‘Not going well’

Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro recalled to “The Breakfast Club” in a new interview how he tried to deliver then-President Joe Biden bad news about the election before Biden dropped out of the race.

Nearly a year after the 2024 election, which was seen as a reckoning for Democrats, the party is still trying to make sense of where they have gone wrong in recent years.

Shapiro, who presents himself as a moderate for the party who goes out of his way to engage with conservatives, spoke candidly about his sober warnings to Biden when Biden was still the de facto 2024 Democratic nominee.

“I went directly to the president and spoke to him about what I saw were, you know, his challenges in Pennsylvania. I was really honest with him,” Shapiro said. “We got together at a coffee shop in Harrisburg. I think this has been reported. I mean, I’ll just share with you. He said, ‘How’s it going?’ I was very clear: ‘It’s not going well.'”

JOSH SHAPIRO SAYS KAMALA IS ‘GOING TO HAVE TO ANSWER’ FOR WHY SHE NEVER RAISED CONCERNS OVER BIDEN’S HEALTH

He then recalled what he had told Biden at the time.

“’Polls are showing it’s not going well,” he said. “I don’t think you’re handling the cost question. Back to what we talked about before with rising costs. It was a big theme in the campaign. Big issue in Pennsylvania. I didn’t think they were handling that well. I expressed that I thought people thought he wasn’t up to the job.”

Shapiro argued that his personal style and approach shaped the way he handled this conversation.

“Look, maybe it’s old school, but I believe that if you got something to say, you say it directly to that person’s face, and he’s the president of the United States. I respected him, still respect him, and I respect him enough to say it directly to his face,” he said.

When asked how this sobering assessment was received at the time, Shapiro replied, “I think he heard it. He told me that their poll numbers were different, and he seemed committed to continuing forward. And, listen, that’s his call.”

KAMALA HARRIS REVEALS WHAT BIDEN TOLD HER JUST BEFORE CRUCIAL DEBATE WITH TRUMP THAT LEFT HER ‘ANGRY’

He also recalled arguing to Biden that part of his issue was that Biden’s team wasn’t straightforward with its own boss.

“Breakfast Club” host Charlamagne tha God argued that such stories need to be told by any future Democratic Party contenders for the presidency, arguing that “anybody that wants to lead this party in the future has to throw that old regime under the bus.”

Shapiro, however, disagreed.

“I don’t believe that you get ahead in life by throwing people under the bus,” he said. “I don’t believe that I got to kick somebody in order to get ahead. I think you’ve got to show your work. I think you’ve got to show a vision. I think you’ve got to tell people what you’re all about.”

Shapiro was vetted as a possible running mate for Kamala Harris, but she ultimately chose Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz. Shapiro was prescient about Democrats’ issues in his state because Trump went on to win Pennsylvania and the presidency.

President Donald Trump announced on Truth Social Friday that he commuted the sentence of disgraced former Rep. George Santos, R-N.Y., after several campaign finance violations.

“George Santos was somewhat of a ‘rogue,’ but there are many rogues throughout our Country that aren’t forced to serve seven years in prison,” Trump wrote

“I started to think about George when the subject of Democrat Senator Richard “Da Nang Dick” Blumenthal came up again…. This is far worse than what George Santos did, and at least Santos had the Courage, Conviction, and Intelligence to ALWAYS VOTE REPUBLICAN!” President Trump added.

“George has been in solitary confinement for long stretches of time and, by all accounts, has been horribly mistreated. Therefore, I just signed a Commutation, releasing George Santos from prison, IMMEDIATELY.”

FORMER CONGRESSMAN GEORGE SANTOS DELIVERS ‘GLAMOROUS’ FAREWELL BEFORE GOING TO PRISON: ‘THE CURTAIN FALLS’

Santos had reported to serve his sentence in federal prison at the end of July earlier this year, with a theatrical X post in which he wrote, “Well, darlings… The curtain falls, the spotlight dims, and the rhinestones are packed.”

The former representative pleaded guilty in 2024 to wire fraud and aggravated identity theft. Santos was assessed the maximum sentence in April by U.S. District Judge Joanna Seybert. Seybert also ordered Santos to pay nearly $374,000 in restitution and forfeit more than $205,000 in fraud proceeds.

Santos “traded in his integrity for designer clothes and a luxury lifestyle,” Nassau County District Attorney Anne T. Donnelly said in a statement at the time.

The former representative and his campaign treasurer had doctored donor reports to qualify for national Republican Party funding, including falsely reporting a $500,000 loan from Santos when he had under $8,000 cumulatively in his accounts.

MARJORIE TAYLOR GREENE URGES TRUMP TO COMMUTE GEORGE SANTOS’ FEDERAL PRISON SENTENCE: ‘FAR WORSE OFFENSES’

According to the DOJ, Santos made unauthorized charges to fund both campaign and personal expenses from stolen donor credit card information, including those from “victims he knew were elderly persons suffering from cognitive impairment or decline.” He also used a fake political fundraising company to solicit tens of thousands of dollars which he spent on “designer clothing.”

Santos flipped New York’s third congressional district in 2022 for the GOP despite falsifying his biography, including claiming his family had ties to 9/11 and the Holocaust that were debunked at the time.

Santos was expelled by the House of Representatives in December 2023, after a scathing ethics report, making him the sixth member of Congress in history to have been removed.

In Santos’ July X post, he added, “I may be leaving the stage (for now), but trust me legends never truly exit.”

Olympic committee slams host country for ‘blatant violation’ against Israeli gymnasts

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) condemned a recent sanction by the government of Indonesia against Israel’s national gymnastics team.

The Indonesian government denied the Israelis visas to enter the country for the upcoming 53rd FIG Artistic Gymnastics World Championships in Jakarta, which began Sunday.

“The IOC’s principled position is very clear: All eligible athletes, teams and sports officials must be able to participate in international sports competitions and events without any form of discrimination from the host country, in accordance with the Olympic Charter and the fundamental principles of nondiscrimination, autonomy and political neutrality that govern the Olympic Movement,” the IOC’s statement said.

“It is therefore the direct responsibility of the host country, the organizer and the sports organizations directly concerned to make sure that this principle is fully respected and that all necessary assurances are provided by the relevant authorities of the host country in advance.”

The IOC also claimed its officials will discuss the situation with Indonesia at its next meeting.

“Sport must remain a safe space for athletes to fulfill their dreams; and athletes must not be held responsible for political decisions,” the statement added.

Indonesia said it wouldn’t grant visas to Team Israel because of the war in Gaza. Then, on Tuesday, the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) rejected Israel’s request for intervention.

The Israel Gymnastics Federation (IGF) released a statement addressing the sanction.

“The rules are clear, and Indonesia’s actions constitute a blatant violation of them. It is inconceivable that a country can bar another nation from competing in a World Championship while the governing bodies stand by,” the statement read, via the BBC.

“This decision undermines the very foundations of sport and fair competition, and it delivers a severe blow to the morale of the gymnasts and staff who have worked tirelessly for this moment.”

Indonesia was previously stripped of its right to host football’s Under-20 World Cup when the governor of Bali refused to host Team Israel in a game.

Indonesia’s latest sanction against the IGF is just the latest example of restrictions placed on Israel’s sports teams and fans in recent months.

The Israel Premier Tech cycling team has been excluded from an upcoming race in Italy, the Giro dell’Emilia, scheduled for Oct. 4, over potentially disruptive pro-Palestinian protests.

FIFA President Gianni Infantino announced no action would be taken against the team on Oct. 3. He reportedly later met privately at FIFA headquarters with the leader of the Palestinian soccer federation, Jibril Rajoub, and praised his organization “for their resilience at this time,” per The Associated Press.

Meanwhile, fans of Israeli teams have been barred from recent major events as well.

Surgery-free option could help millions with painful knee condition, research suggests

Researchers are testing low-dose radiation to treat the painful symptoms of osteoarthritis in the knee.

The study, published by researchers in Korea and presented at the American Society for Radiation Oncology (ASTRO) annual meeting in September, suggests that a single course of radiation can be a “safe and effective” treatment option.

Knee osteoarthritis is a degenerative joint disease causing pain, swelling and stiffness in the knees that worsens over time.

MORE PEOPLE TURN TO ACUPUNCTURE FOR BACK PAIN AS STUDY SHOWS RELIEF

The randomized clinical trial enrolled 114 patients with moderate-to-mild knee osteoarthritis who were each assigned a very low dose of radiation, a low dose or a placebo. The only other pain relief used during the study was acetaminophen.

The participants went through six sessions as researchers assessed “meaningful improvement” in at least two of the following markers — pain, physical function and overall assessment of condition.

The patients also completed a questionnaire to report pain, stiffness and function. None of them recorded any treatment-related side effects.

After four months of treatment, 70% of the low-dose participants met the criteria, compared to 42% in the placebo. Those in the very low-dose group saw a 58.3% improvement.

These findings suggest the low-dose regimen “drove relief beyond placebo effects,” experts noted in a press release.

In the low-dose group, 56.8% recorded meaningful improvements in pain, stiffness and physical function scores, compared to 30.6% in placebo.

The study concluded that low-dose radiation led to significant reductions in pain and improved function after four months, a “small fraction” of what is typically used to treat cancer.

“For people with mild to moderate disease, this approach could delay the need for joint replacement.”

Dr. Byoung Hyuck Kim, principal investigator on the trial and an assistant professor of radiation oncology at Seoul National University College of Medicine, Boramae Medical Center, noted that people with painful knee osteoarthritis “often face a difficult choice” between the risk of side effects from pain medications and the risks of joint replacement surgery.

“There’s a clinical need for moderate interventions between weak pain medications and aggressive surgery, and we think radiation may be a suitable option for those patients, especially when drugs and injections are poorly tolerated,” he said in a statement.

Radiation therapy may be a better fit for patients with underlying inflammation and preserved joint structure, Kim added.

“For severe osteoarthritis, where the joint is physically destroyed and cartilage is already gone, radiation will not regenerate tissue,” he said. “But for people with mild to moderate disease, this approach could delay the need for joint replacement.”

This treatment should also be considered alongside other lifestyle factors, including weight loss, physiotherapy and medications because responses could be “even stronger when radiation is properly combined with other treatments,” Kim said.

“And patient satisfaction may be higher than with current options alone.”

The study did have some limitations, the researchers confirmed, including the relatively short follow-up period.

The researchers are planning for larger trials to evaluate the outcomes in specific groups of people, comparing low-dose radiation injections with medication regimens.

Kylie Jenner is not afraid to bare it all.

In a recent Instagram post, the 28-year-old reality star left little to the imagination when she posed in a low-cut black mini dress with multiple cutouts on the chest and abs, leaving much of her body exposed.

She accessorized the look with diamond rings, bracelets and a necklace and styled her hair in an intricate updo with a few strands left out partially covering her face.

“Careful what you wish for 👑,” she captioned the post.

In addition to the racy outfit, Jenner also debuted a bold makeup look featuring heavy lashes, a smokey eye, bright pink blush and glossy lipstick lined with thick lip liner.  In one photo she can be seen looking directly into the camera with her hand on her hip, while in others she can be seen kneeling and pouting at the camera.

“Baddie is back and better than ever,” one fan wrote in the comments section, while another added, “King Kylie is backkkk👑,” referencing a nickname used to refer to Jenner after she briefly changed her Instagram handle to @kingkylie in 2015.

With her King Kylie persona, Jenner showed off more rebellious, edgy and experimental looks, including blue hair. The persona coincided with the 2015 launch of her makeup brand, Kylie Cosmetics, and helped define her brand identity early on.

The “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” star recently received backlash online when she posted a short clip on Instagram promoting her new King Kylie Cosmetics collection, with some calling the ad “deeply out of touch.”

Karoline Leavitt rips Hakeem Jeffries after he calls her ‘sick’ and ‘liar’

EXCLUSIVE: White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt is hitting back at House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, D-N.Y., after he called her “sick” among other attacks on Friday morning.

“Hakeem and Democrats are lashing out because they know what I said is true,” Leavitt told Fox News Digital. “The Democrat Party’s elected officials absolutely cater to pro-Hamas terrorists, illegal aliens and violent criminals. House Democrats voted against a resolution condemning Hamas following the horrific Oct. 7 terrorist attacks, and Democrats cheered on pro-Hamas radicals while they hijacked America’s college campuses and harassed Jewish students.

“Democrats opened our borders and allowed tens of millions of illegal aliens into our country over the past four years, including rapists and murderers, because they view them as future voters,” she continued. “Democrats coddle violent criminals and support soft-on-crime policies like cashless bail that let violent offenders back on the streets to hurt law-abiding citizens.”

She then went after Jeffries directly while criticizing Democrats as a whole for blocking the GOP’s federal funding bill.

“Democrats do NOT serve the interests of the American people. Hakeem Jeffries is an America Last, stone-cold loser. Now open up the government and stop simping to try to get your radical left-wing base to like you,” Leavitt said.

Fox News Digital reached out to Jeffries’ office for a response.

Earlier Friday, Jeffries criticized Republicans as a whole for their attacks against Democrats before he turned the focus to Leavitt specifically during a press conference.

“You’ve got Karoline Leavitt, who’s sick. She’s out of control,” Jeffries said. “And I’m not sure whether she’s just demented, ignorant, a stone-cold liar or all of the above.

“But the notion that an official White House spokesperson would say that the Democratic Party consists of terrorists, violent criminals and undocumented immigrants makes no sense, that this is what the American people are getting from the Trump administration in the middle of a shutdown.”

Tensions have run high on both sides as the shutdown drags on, and the standoff shows no signs of slowing down.

In fact, it’s expected to roll into its fourth week after Senate Democrats blocked the GOP’s federal funding measure for a tenth time on Thursday before leaving Washington for the weekend.

Republicans put forward last month a seven-week extension of fiscal year (FY) 2025 funding levels called a continuing resolution aimed at giving congressional negotiators more time to strike a long-term deal for FY2026.

But Democrats in the House and Senate were infuriated by being sidelined in those talks. The majority of Democrats are refusing to accept any deal that does not include serious healthcare concessions, at least extending COVID-19 pandemic-era Obamacare subsidies that are set to expire at the end of this year.

Toronto Blue Jays starting pitcher Max Scherzer was not going to leave the game.

Scherzer, 41, let manager John Schneider have it when his skipper approached the mound to take him out of the game during the fifth inning of the team’s 8-2 win over the Seattle Mariners in Game 4 of the ALCS Thursday night at T-Mobile Park.

Scherzer, nicknamed “Mad Max” for his intensity during his starts, made his first start of the postseason on Thursday after being left off the ALDS roster with neck pain. Schneider got a firsthand taste of why Scherzer is nicknamed “Mad Max” during his mound visit.

“I thought he was going to kill me. It was great. He locked eyes with me, both colors, as I walked out,” Schneider said with a smile. “He has this Mad Max persona, but he backed it up tonight.”

The three-time Cy Young winner said he wanted the ball in that moment. Scherzer said he was busy thinking about the sequence of pitches he wanted to throw to Randy Arozarena.

“And all of a sudden, I see Schneids coming out, and it kind of caught me off guard,” Scherzer explained. “That’s just one of those moments where I know I wanted the ball. I knew the situation of the game. I wanted the ball, and I basically told him that in a little bit different language.”

Schneider heeded Scherzer’s passionate plea to stay in and was rewarded with a strikeout of Arozarena. It was a key moment in the Blue Jays’ win, one that evened the series at 2-2.

“I tried to stay away from him,” teammate George Springer said. “You don’t really want to get in Max’s way, so you kind of just let Max be Max. It was entertaining, for sure.”

Schneider said he had been waiting to be yelled at all year.

“I’ve been waiting for that all year, for Max to yell at me on the mound. I think, at that point, there’s numbers, there’s projections, there’s strategy and there’s people. So I was trusting people,” Schneider said.

Scherzer pitched 5⅔ innings and gave up two runs on three hits and four walks while striking out five Mariners.

The Blue Jays’ offense, meanwhile, picked up where it left off after scoring 13 runs in Game 3. Andrés Giménez hit a two-run homer in the third inning for the second consecutive day, this one off starter Luis Castillo to give the Blue Jays a lead it didn’t relinquish. The Blue Jays tacked on another run in the inning when reliever Gabe Speier walked in a run.

Scherzer’s outing, coupled with the Blue Jays’ offense, helped them even the series at 2-2 as they head into a critical Game 5.

The Mariners and Blue Jays will play Game 5 at 6:08 p.m. ET on Friday, the final game of the series in Seattle. Games 6 and 7, if necessary, will be played in Toronto.
