Political analyst has bad news for Harris campaign after seeing new polling data

Political analyst Mark Halperin said this week that both Democrats and Republicans believe former President Trump’s chances of winning the election are looking strong after seeing recent private polling data.

Appearing on a livestream on his media platform 2WAY, Halperin said people on both sides of the political aisle familiar with the polls have told him they’ve seen Vice President Harris’ electoral prospects slip, and that they’re leaning towards a Trump victory being in the cards.

“In the conversations I’m having with Trump people and Democrats with data, they are extremely bullish on Trump’s chances in the last 48 hours. Extremely bullish,” Halperin said.

The pundit characterized the Harris campaign as an “experiment” that’s encountering issues.

KAMALA HARRIS TELLS ‘THE VIEW’ SHE CAN’T THINK OF ANYTHING SHE WOULD HAVE DONE DIFFERENTLY FROM BIDEN

“Can you win a short campaign with an untested candidate? And what I’m telling you is happening in private polling is she’s got a problem now,” he said.

He pointed to a recent New York Times poll showing that Harris is up over Trump by three points nationally. However, he noted this lead is just on the cusp of the poll’s margin of error and that her team would rather her be at +4 to be confident she’s winning.

Halperin then mentioned a Wall Street Journal report on internal polling done by Sen. Tammy Baldwin’s, D-Wis., re-election campaign showing that Harris is down by three points in Wisconsin.

“There’s no path without Wisconsin,” he said, bringing up the numbers from Baldwin’s camp. He added, “We all said yesterday, Wisconsin and Michigan are looking worse for Harris than before.”

FOUR CELEBRITIES WHO HAVE REJECTED CONSERVATIVE FANS: ‘I HAVE NO RESPECT FOR YOU’

He then spoke to his fellow pundits, including former Trump White House press secretary Sean Spicer and Democratic political strategist Dan Turrentine, about how Baldwin publishing these numbers is an “alarm bell” for the rest of the party.

“And so you do it to sound the alarm bell, you are sounding the alarm bell in the party,” Turrentine added.

Further on in the stream, Halperin chastised his pro-Harris viewers, stating, “For you Harris people on here complaining that we’re talking about problems in the Harris campaign, you’re welcome to put your head in the sand about it. If you want to go watch MSNBC primetime and hear how great things are going for the Harris campaign, you’re welcome.”

“But if you want to understand what’s actually happening, we’re here to tell you. I just saw some new private polling today, that’s very robust private polling, she’s in a lot of trouble.”

Halperin added his belief that Harris is in “danger” of losing every swing state except for Nevada.

Whistleblower alleges Secret Service hiding information crucial to Trump’s safety

Republican Missouri Sen. Josh Hawley sent letters to U.S. Secret Service (USSS) and Department of Homeland Security (DHS) leaders on Wednesday detailing a new whistleblower claim that Secret Service leadership is trying to hide the level of protection given to former President Donald Trump.

The letter to USSS Director Ronald Rowe and DHS Inspector General Joseph Cuffari alleges a whistleblower’s claims that government auditors are being denied access to certain Trump campaign events in an effort to hide these apparent protection shortfalls for the former president.

“You of course have publicly stated that former President Trump is receiving ‘the highest level of Secret Service protection’ and that ‘he’s getting everything.’ This new whistleblower information troublingly contradicts your public statements,” Hawley wrote in his letter to Rowe.

In his letter to Cuffari, Hawley said the new whistleblower allegations say “Secret Service headquarters blocked several of your auditors from accessing recent Trump campaign events.”

NEW WHISTLEBLOWER CLAIMS ON FIRST TRUMP ASSASSINATION ATTEMPT ‘HIGHLY DAMAGING’ TO SECRET SERVICE: HAWLEY

“The Secret Service whistleblower alleges that the denial was in order to hide the fact that the former president is not receiving a consistent level of protective assets for all of his engagements,” Hawley wrote. “[Y]ou should be aware of these allegations, which indicate that the Secret Service is not in fact cooperating with your auditors and is instead painting a false picture.”

The Secret Service could not immediately be reached for comment.

TRUMP BLAMES BIDEN-HARRIS ‘RHETORIC’ FOR LATEST ASSASSINATION ATTEMPT, SAYS HE WILL ‘SAVE THE COUNTRY’

Since the July 13 assassination attempt against the former president in Butler, Pennsylvania, Hawley has been collecting whistleblower claims to expose potential USSS deficits and errors.

About two months after 20-year-old gunman Thomas Crooks shot Trump in the ear, Hawley released a wide-ranging whistleblower report detailing various allegations against the agency.

Hawley found a “compounding pattern of negligence, sloppiness, and gross incompetence that goes back years, all of which culminated in an assassination attempt that came inches from succeeding,” the report read.

The Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee passed Hawley’s legislation requiring DHS to submit all information regarding the July 13 and Sept. 15 assassination attempts against Trump.

Crooks’ gunfire during the first assassination attempt left rally attendee Corey Comperatore, a husband and father of two, dead. Crooks also shot and critically wounded two other rally attendees, James Copenhaver and David Dutch.

Ex-Jets coach wearing flag on sweatshirt played factor in firing, radio host claims

The New York Jets shocked many with the firing of Robert Saleh as head coach following back-to-back losses to move them to 2-3 on the year.

While owner Woody Johnson said that he consulted general manager Joe Douglas, he ultimately said he made the decision on his own.

What factored into the decision for Johnson to relieve Saleh of his duties was not divulged other than him saying he felt it was the right time to do so. However, one long-time radio host pointed to Saleh’s wardrobe choice during the team’s London game against the Minnesota Vikings as a factor.

Joe Benigno, who is a die-hard Jets fan and former radio host at WFAN, said he believed that Saleh wearing a black Jets sweatshirt with the Lebanese flag on his sleeve had something to do with his firing.

“I gotta say something else, and I hate to get political, but I have to in this case,” Benigno said while on “The Jake Asman Show” on Tuesday.

ISLAMIC GROUP CALLS OUT JETS FOR FIRING ROBERT SALEH AFTER WEARING LEBANON PIN AMID ISRAEL WAR

“Saleh had the flag of Lebanon on his shirt the other day in London. Now, we all know what’s going on in the Middle East. There is no sugarcoating of what’s going on in the Middle East. We all know about Hezbollah firing all these rockets out of Lebanon, and all what’s going on there, into Israel.

“We know he is Muslim. I think he is representing the people of Lebanon, because I don’t believe the people of Lebanon really are happy with Hezbollah. I don’t think that’s the case at all. And I wonder if that has played into this in a way as well, because I did see this on the regular news that this was actually brought up.”

There were some on social media who voiced displeasure with Saleh, who is of Lebanese descent, wearing the flag on his sleeve due to the current situation in the country.

Hezbollah, the Iran-backed military group in Lebanon, has a violent history with Israel, and it only escalated amid the Israel-Hamas war. The flag was seen on the day Israel bombed Beirut, the capital of Lebanon, one day before the one-year anniversary of the Oct. 7 Hamas attacks on Israel.

However, Saleh has worn the Lebanese flag patch last year as part of the NFL Heritage Program, which encourages players and coaches to honor their cultural backgrounds with patches and helmet decals on gameday. Saleh also wore the patch earlier this season.

Saleh, who became the first Muslim head coach in the NFL when the Jets hired him in January 2021, is the son of Lebanese parents, who immigrated to the United States prior to him being born.

In his three-and-a-half seasons leading the Jets, Saleh owned a 20-36 record. He never had a season above .500 after going 4-13 in year one, followed by back-to-back seasons at 7-10.

NY Times columnist mocks Harris’ friendly interview with Howard Stern

New York Times columnist Michelle Cottle mocked Vice President Kamala Harris’ interview with liberal radio host Howard Stern on Tuesday and said the Democratic nominee spent an “hour in the warm embrace” of the radio host.

“Stern was a little too openly butt-smoochy for my taste, but I like a little more spice in my political interviews,” Cottle wrote, suggesting Harris go on “Hot Ones” next, where host Sean Evans asks his guests questions as they attempt to eat hot wings covered in various sauces.

Stern, was one of three friendly interview stops for Harris this week, as she also appeared on ABC’s “The View,” and with late night host Stephen Colbert. Stern, a big critic of former President Trump, told the vice president that he was voting for her during the interview, and repeatedly went after Harris’ opponent.

“Yes, folks hoping to find serious policy talk on the Stern show were out of luck. But honestly, any voters still undecided at this late date are unlikely to be making their decision based on the nitty-gritty of the candidates’ tax plans,” Cottle wrote.

KAMALA HARRIS TELLS ‘THE VIEW’ SHE CAN’T THINK OF ANYTHING SHE WOULD HAVE DONE DIFFERENTLY FROM BIDEN

“Who could resist the opportunity to outsource some Trump bashing to a professional trash-talker like Stern, who famously disdains the MAGA king?” the columnist added.

During an hour-long live interview with the Democratic presidential candidate, Stern repeatedly ripped into Trump and expressed disbelief that anyone would vote for him. At one point, he claimed the sun would “go out” if Trump was re-elected.

“With all this pressure on you right now, and you’ve got to win, you just have to,” he told Harris. “I really believe we’re in for the darkest skies on the planet, like the sun’s literally going to go out. God bless you for doing this,” he said about her presidential bid.

“Howard, I’m doing everything I can to make sure he does not win,” Harris responded.

Cottle wrote that the “juicy bits” of the interview included, “that the V.P. isn’t a napper; that she digs Doritos and jigsaw puzzles; that her favorite F1 driver is Lewis Hamilton; that she went to see U2 at the Sphere; and that a rare area of musical agreement between her and Doug, her husband, is their love of Prince.”

Noting that she’s spoken to the Harris campaign about her media strategy, she wrote that the Democrat’s team is hoping to meet voters where they are.

During “The View” on Monday, Harris was asked if there was anything she would have done differently from President Biden in the last four years.

“Not a thing comes to mind,” she responded.

Kate Middleton ‘throws up her hands in disgust’ as she quits the game, expert reveals

Sources have long insisted that Kate Middleton wanted to play the role of peacemaker between feuding Prince William and Prince Harry. But after her battle with cancer, the Princess of Wales seems to have different priorities.

Christopher Andersen, author of “The King,” told Fox News Digital that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are not on Kate’s radar these days. Instead, the 42-year-old is solely focused on preserving the future of the monarchy alongside William and her father-in-law, King Charles III.

“The idea that Kate somehow still has the time and energy to continue playing peacemaker is rubbish,” Andersen claimed. “She did try over a period of years and finally threw up her hands in disgust. She did her bit, but it wasn’t enough to build a bridge between William and Charles on the one side and Harry on the other.”

A spokesperson for Kensington Palace didn’t immediately respond to Fox News Digital’s request for comment.

KATE MIDDLETON HELPS TEEN WITH CANCER FULFILL ‘BUCKET LIST’ DREAM AFTER FINISHING OWN CHEMOTHERAPY TREATMENT

Royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams claimed to Fox News Digital that Kate “is totally at one” with William, 42, over the handling of the royal rift, and with good reason.

“Harry portrayed her as cold and unwelcoming to [his wife] Meghan Markle in [his memoir] ‘Spare,’ when he painted an extremely damaging picture of the royal family,” Fitzwilliams explained. “The memoir is soon to be released in paperback and his allegations will surface again, though fortunately, he will not be adding to the volume or promoting it. He knows perfectly well how damaging it has been.”

Fitzwilliams noted that Kate will focus on slowly returning to royal duties on her terms while prioritizing her health.

“We have recently seen encouraging signs of Catherine’s recovery,” he explained. “Her focus, as she has said, is being ‘cancer free.’ The Wales family has had a tremendously difficult year. She has finished her course of preventative chemotherapy. William, while carrying out some royal engagements, has been tremendously supportive… [But] Catherine will wish to avoid anything that promotes negative energy.”

Harry has had a strained relationship with his family since he and Meghan quit royal duties in 2020. At the time, the couple said the unbearable intrusions and racist attitudes of the British press were what prompted them to step back as senior royals.

The father of two has since detailed his rocky relationship with his family in TV interviews, a documentary and his memoir.

In his book, Harry alleged that during an argument in 2019, William called his wife “difficult” and “rude” and then grabbed him by the collar and knocked him down. Harry suffered cuts and bruises from landing on a dog bowl. Harry claimed Charles implored the brothers to make up. Following the funeral of Charles’ father, Prince Philip, in 2021, the king pleaded, “Please, boys, don’t make my final years a misery.”

British broadcaster and photographer Helena Chard claimed to Fox News Digital that Kate is known for having “a strong sense of negotiation.” However, she’s “not prioritizing reaching out to Prince Harry at this time.”

“Making sure her family is well and happy is her priority,” Chard claimed. “She is also aware that she has to be kind to herself. Having completed her preventative chemotherapy treatment, she is relieved to be undertaking royal duties where possible but realizes that she is not totally out of the woods.”

“Prince Harry will want to contact Princess Catherine,” Chard claimed. “Prince Harry will be bothered by the silent treatment – and the royal family is aware of this.”

Sources previously told People magazine that Harry’s calls and letters to his father go unanswered. His attempts to connect with William through texts, calls and messages are “similarly ignored.”

“Catherine has pursued peace over the last year,” Kinsey Schofield, host of the To Di For Daily podcast, claimed to Fox News Digital. “[But] Harry and Meghan are not on the Prince and Princess of Wales’ radar right now. Catherine is focused on her health and family. Harry and Meghan’s relentless exploits are irrelevant to them at this point.”

“Even with Catherine currently in the clear … the reality is that cancer has taken a toll on King Charles,” Schofield claimed, referring to the monarch, 75, battling the disease.

William is heir to the British throne.

“Prince William and Catherine will have to prepare for a complete shift from the privacy and intimacy of the life they’ve lived so far to William [eventually] ascending to the throne,” said Schofield. “They are planning for things like how to navigate raising teenagers under that type of spotlight. How much access the world will have. How to protect their children.”

“The bigger picture no longer includes Harry, and they are focused on keeping Catherine cancer-free, the future of their family, and the future of the crown,” Schofield continued. “Harry likely misses Catherine because he is a perpetual victim, but you’ve made your bed, now lie in it. I hope the payday he received from ‘Spare’ was worth losing a sister-in-law who loved him like her own little brother. Was complaining about Catherine’s lack of enthusiasm over sharing lip gloss with his stranger wife or publishing private text messages sent from a future queen worth his exile?”

“Harry has to accept the consequences of his actions,” Schofield added.

But not everyone agrees that Kate has attempted to be a peacemaker after the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s royal exit.

“It’s an interesting scenario that Kate is a peacemaker between William and Harry,” royal expert Ian Pelham Turner told Fox News Digital. “I’ve not heard of this and wonder if it is coming from a PR source promoting Kate.”

“Kate going against William and his emotions are unheard of,” he claimed. “But as in all royal sagas, the truth is… stranger than fiction. I feel it is Meghan who needs to feel safe to return to a maelstrom environment. Harry will never betray her.”

Kate announced on Sept. 9 that she had completed treatment six months after revealing she had an undisclosed type of cancer. Her announcement came six weeks after Buckingham Palace announced that the king was being treated for cancer.

In a video announcing her progress, she said the path to full recovery would be long, and she would take it day by day. She said she would undertake some limited engagements through the end of the year.

Walz reveals major constitutional change he’d pursue if elected

Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz on Tuesday called for the elimination of the Electoral College during a fundraiser in California, a move some Democrats have advocated for in the past after election defeats.

Walz was in California Gov. Gavin Newsom’s private home in Sacramento when he remarked about the process by which U.S. presidents are elected.

“I think all of us know the Electoral College needs to go,” he said, according to a pool report at the event, Bloomberg reported. “We need a national popular vote, but that’s not the world we live in.”

THOUSANDS OF NONCITIZENS REMOVED FROM VOTER ROLLS, DOZENS OF LAWMAKERS WANT ANSWERS FROM GARLAND

In 2023, the Minnesota governor signed the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact, an agreement in which each state would allocate all its electoral votes to whoever wins the popular vote for president, regardless of how individual states voted. The compact would take effect only if supporters secure pledges from states with at least 270 electoral votes.

“Governor Walz believes that every vote matters in the Electoral College and he is honored to be traveling the country and battleground states working to earn support for the Harris-Walz ticket,” a spokesperson for the Harris/Walz campaign told Fox News Digital. “He was commenting to a crowd of strong supporters about how the campaign is built to win 270 electoral votes. And, he was thanking them for their support that is helping fund those efforts.”

Fox News Digital has reached out to the Trump campaign for comment.

The Electoral College comprises a certain number of electors from each state who cast votes for the president and vice president. In 48 states and Washington, D.C., whichever candidate receives the most ballots in their favor is awarded all the electoral votes for that state. Maine and Nebraska assign their electors using a proportional system.

The winner needs 270 electoral votes to win the presidential election.

The Electoral College was created by the Founding Fathers in an effort to make sure large states didn’t dominate small ones in presidential elections or wield too much power. Abolishing the system would require a major constitutional change.

TRUMP CAN WIN ON THESE 3 KEY ISSUES, MICHIGAN VOTERS TELL FOX

In recent years, some Democrats have called for eliminating the process in favor of a popular vote. Recent examples cited include former President Trump’s 2016 win over Hillary Clinton, in which she won the popular vote but received fewer electoral votes.

In 2000, former President George W. Bush lost the popular vote but narrowly won the electoral vote. Many Republicans have argued against getting rid of the Electoral College system, saying such a move would result in states with larger populations having undue influence.

Others argue it would cause presidential candidates to focus on a few states during the campaign season while ignoring others.

In 2012, Trump panned the electoral system, calling it “a disaster for a democracy.” In 2018, he again voiced support for the idea because a popular vote would be “much easier to win.”

Passengers on budget airline say they were kicked off plane for what they were wearing

Three women say they were booted off a Spirit Airlines flight before it took off from Los Angeles on Friday because they were wearing crop tops.

The incident unfolded when a pair of friends — Tara Kehidi and Teresa Araujo from California — say they were sitting on the flight to New Orleans pre-takeoff when they decided to take off their sweaters off to cool down because the cabin’s air-conditioning system was not working, ABC7 reports.

“We were wearing crop tops… just like a little bit of stomach showing,” Kehidi told ABC7.

SPIRIT AIRLINES STOCK PLUMMETS ON REPORT OF POTENTIAL BANKRUPTCY FILING

Kehidi told the outlet that a male flight attendant then approached them and aggressively mumbled “put something on” before walking away.

“He’s telling both of us (to) put our sweaters on,” Kehidi recalled. “And then we’re like ‘Oh, can we see a dress code? Like, is there a policy that says we can’t wear crop tops on the plane?’”

Carla Hager, a fellow passenger they did not know, was sitting in front of them with her toddler when she heard the commotion taking place.

She told KABC that she decided to support the women as she agreed the plane was very hot and other people on the flight had their sweaters off also.

“I said ‘Well, if your body is inappropriate, then so is mine because I also have a crop top under my sweater,’” Hager told the outlet. “And I took my sweater off and I was like ‘So if they’re kicking you off the flight, then they’re also going to have to kick me and my toddler off of the flight.’”

JETBLUE, SPIRIT AGREE TO TERMINATE MERGER OVER REGULATORY ISSUES

The trio say that they were then all kicked off the flight without refunds. Hager had to disembark the aircraft with her toddler and video footage shows a child crying as Hager gathers her belongings.

Fox News Business reached out to Spirit Airlines for comment but did not immediately receive a response.

Spirit Airline’s Contract of Carriage states that the company can deny a customer from boarding or require them to leave if they are “barefoot or inadequately clothed,” or if their “clothing is lewd, obscene, or offensive in nature.”

The contract does not explain what type of clothing would be deemed inadequate or lewd and crop tops are not explicitly mentioned.

Araujo told ABC7 that she felt they were being singled out and left embarrassed by the low-cost carrier.

“We felt we were being treated like… like criminals, you know,” Araujo told ABC7. “Everyone in the plane was looking at us.”

Araujo and Kehidi told ABC7 that they offered to put their sweaters back on multiple times to prevent being booted from the plane, but the flight attendant told them it was too late.

They say they then had to fork out $1,000 to pay for a last-minute Delta Air Lines flight to bring them to New Orleans where they were celebrating Kehidi’s birthday.

The two friends tell ABC7 they are now interested in taking legal action.

Separately, The Wall Street Journal reported last week that Spirit is engaging in talks with bondholders and creditors about the possibility of filing for bankruptcy. The potential bankruptcy filing comes after Spirit’s failed $3.8 billion merger with JetBlue Airways. JetBlue announced plans in 2022 to merge with Spirit, but the carrier terminated the plan in March, citing regulatory challenges.
