Former aides spill on VP’s next moves but the questions may remain unanswered

Vice President Kamala Harris is searching for the next steps in her political career after losing the election, some former aides told Politico.

“She is not someone who makes rash decisions. She takes, sometimes, a painfully long time to make decisions. So I would pretty much guarantee you she has no idea what her next move is,” former Harris aide Brian Brokaw told Politico.

Harris has maintained a low profile after losing to President-elect Donald Trump. She arrived in Kalaoa, Hawaii, on Tuesday for a vacation from her campaign schedule and duties as vice president.

Everything from running for governor in her home state of California to another presidential run could be on the table. Current California Gov. Gavin Newsom cannot seek another term in 2026 and reportedly has White House aspirations of his own.

HARRIS DISAPPEARS FROM SPOTLIGHT, VACATIONS IN HAWAII AFTER ELECTION LOSS

“Could she run for governor? Yes. Do I think she wants to run for governor? Probably not. Could she win? Definitely. Would she like the job? I don’t know. Could she run for president again? Yes,” Brokaw told Politico.

“Would she have a whole bunch of skepticism from the outset, because she has run in a full-length Democratic primary where [in 2019] she didn’t even make it long enough to be in the Iowa caucus, and then she was the nominee this year?”

Some former aides say that Harris has limited time and political capital to decide whether she wants to run for office.

“She doesn’t have to decide if she wants to run for something again in the next six months,” one former Harris campaign aide told Politico. “The natural thing to do would be to set up some type of entity that would give her the opportunity to travel and give speeches and preserve her political relationships.”

Another person in Harris’ orbit emphasized that time is running short for Harris to make a decision.

“There will be a desire to hear her voice, and there won’t be a vacuum for long,” a person close to Harris reportedly said.

PRESIDENT BIDEN ADMITS PRESSURE FROM DEMOCRATS CONTRIBUTED TO DECISION TO DROP OUT

The timing of the vice president’s trip to Hawaii following her loss has generated questions, especially since some Democratic National Committee (DNC) staffers have been surprised by sudden layoffs amid reports that the Harris campaign spent $1.5 billion in 15 weeks on a losing effort.

White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre defended the Harris vacation during a Thursday briefing, arguing there was nothing “wrong” with the vice president taking a vacation.

“The vice president has taken time off to go spend time with her family. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with that. I think she deserves some time to be with her family and to have some downtime. She has worked very hard over – for the last four years, and her taking a couple of days to be with her family, good for her. Good for her,” Jean-Pierre said.

Trump makes offer to Republican in push for congressional bid

President-elect Donald Trump urged Florida state Sen. Randy Fine to run for Congress, pledging to endorse the Sunshine State lawmaker if he opts to throw his hat into the ring.

“I am hearing that America First Patriot Randy Fine is considering launching his Campaign for Congress in Florida’s 6th Congressional District!” Trump said in a Truth Social post.

“Should he decide to enter this Race, Randy Fine has my Complete and Total Endorsement. RUN, RANDY, RUN!” Trump urged.

In a post on X, Fine shared a screenshot of Trump’s Truth Social post and said it would be an honor to help him carry out his agenda.

“Mr. President, G-d saved you on that day in Butler so that you could save the world. It would be the honor of my life to be one of your footsoldiers. Your confidence is overwhelming and I will have news to share soon!” Fine posted.

Earlier this month, Trump tapped another Floridian, Rep. Mike Waltz, R-Fla., to serve as national security adviser.

Waltz just won re-election to Congress this month.

After he resigns from Congress to take on his new role in the Trump administration, there will be a special election held to fill the vacancy.

Three key House races to decide the strength of Republican control

Republicans hold a slim majority in the House of Representatives, though the size of that narrow margin will not be known until the final three undecided races are called.

Last week, The Associated Press called Ohio’s 9th Congressional District for Democratic incumbent Rep. Marcy Kaptur, and Alaska’s at-large district for Republican entrepreneur Nick Begich, who flipped the seat red by ousting Democratic incumbent Rep. Mary Sattler Peltola.

The three House races that remain uncalled as of Monday are in California and Iowa.

The balance of power currently sits at 219 seats for Republicans, and 213 for the Democrats.

WHAT TRUMP’S TRIFECTA IN HIS FIRST ADMINISTRATION ACCOMPLISHED, AND WHERE THEY FAILED: FLASHBACK

1. California’s 13th Congressional District

Republican Rep. John Duarte is leading former Democratic state assembly member Adam Gray in California’s 13th Congressional District, but the highly contested race remains uncalled as of Monday morning.

More than 97% of the vote has been counted, and Duarte holds a slim 50.05% to 49.95% lead. The two candidates are separated by just 351 votes at 102,550 to 102,346.

2. California’s 45th Congressional District

Democratic challenger Derek Tran is holding his lead over Republican incumbent Rep. Michelle Steel in the 45th District. Tran is now up 545 votes with a total of 157,427 to Steel’s 156,882 votes as of Monday morning.

99% of the votes have been counted for the district.

DEMOCRATS PRIVATELY GRIPE ABOUT PELOSI’S ‘DAMAGING’ POST-ELECTION COMMENTS: ‘SHE NEEDS TO TAKE A SEAT’

3. Iowa’s 1st Congressional District

Republican incumbent Rep. Mariannette Miller-Meeks holds a .1% lead over challenger Christina Bohannan with 99% of the votes counted. Miller-Meeks’ lead sits at 800 votes as of Monday.

A recount, which Miller-Meeks has labeled a waste of taxpayer money, is underway, and House Administration Committee election observers have been deployed to the state to observe the process.

Bohannan has requested a recount in her bid to unseat Miller-Meeks. The Associated Press has not yet called the race because the margin was close enough that it could prompt a recount.

Miller-Meeks has declared victory and said she was confident in her lead.

Latest twist in trans volleyball player controversy shaking the nation

San Jose State’s volleyball team is currently guaranteed to face a team in the upcoming Mountain West Tournament that has already forfeited to it during the regular season.

San Jose State has had six of its conference wins this season awarded via forfeit amid a national controversy over a trans athlete on the team. With those wins, the team finished with a 12-6 conference record and has earned a first-round bye in the upcoming tournament.

Now, they are guaranteed to play the semifinal. And the opponent they are set to face in that match is guaranteed to be one of the four teams that refused to play them in the regular season. Utah State and Boise State are set to play in the quarterfinal match that will determine who faces the Spartans in the next round.

Boise State was so unwilling to play San Jose State during the regular season that it forfeited two scheduled matches against the Spartans, taking a pair of conference losses on its record. Meanwhile, Utah State, which only forfeited one game, has joined a lawsuit against The Mountain West over the presence of Fleming as it seeks to have that loss restored.

On the other side of the bracket, Colorado State holds the No. 1 seed in the tournament. Colorado State played both games against San Jose State this year, as the teams split the series. Fresno State and San Diego States, two other teams that played the Spartans amid the controversy this year, will face off in the quarterfinal for the right to face Colorado State.

But there is bound to be uncertainty in San Jose State’s semifinal, regardless of what team advances to that round, under the current setup.

SJSU WOMEN’S VOLLEYBALL’S 1ST OPPONENT DIDN’T KNOW ABOUT TRASN PLAYER, SUGGESTS MATCH WOULDN’T HAVE HAPPENED

Spartans co-captain Brooke Slusser, who is engaged in two lawsuits over the presence of her trans teammate Blaire Fleming, previously told Fox News Digital that her team doesn’t even know if their upcoming tournament opponents will face them.

“We’re just mostly wondering, are teams even gonna play us, period, if we go there? Because of just everything that’s happened this season,” Slusser said. “It seems like every few days it looks like it’ll be a fine day and everything’s normal and then something else happens. So, I truly do think everyone’s just kind of taking things day by day and taking the punches as they come.”

A Mountain West spokesperson previously told Fox News digital that the conference is preparing for San Jose State, and all of its opponents to compete, but also has a plan in place in the event of forfeits. That plan includes a willingness to recognize the winner of the conference final if their theoretical opponent in that game were to forfeit, the spokesperson said.

“If we get to a championship game, and it’s San Jose State vs. whoever, if that institution forfeits the game, then San Jose State wins that match, and then they are tournament champions. And they would be the automatic qualifier out of the Mountain West,” the spokesperson said.

However, that plan could change pending a ruling by a federal judge in Colorado after an emergency hearing on Thursday. Judge Kato Crews presided over a hearing after plaintiffs, including Utah State, contested that Fleming shouldn’t be allowed to compete in the tournament.

Crews, who was appointed by President Biden in January, dedicated the first 45 minutes of the hearing to a debate between the plaintiffs and defendants over what pronouns to use when describing Fleming and whether Fleming’s name should be used during the hearing for the sake of privacy. The judge eventually decided to use she/her pronouns when referring to Fleming but told everyone else they could use whatever pronouns they wished.

Crews concluded the hearing by saying he will deliver a ruling on the case in a “timely fashion.” The tournament is set to begin next Wednesday.

San Jose State has repeatedly defended the presence of Fleming on the team.

“Our athletes all comply with NCAA and Mountain West Conference policies and are eligible to play under the rules of those organizations. Our volleyball team members have earned the right to compete, and we are deeply disappointed for them and with them that they are being denied those opportunities through cancellations and forfeits. We are also proud of how they have persevered through these challenges on the court,” a statement provided to Fox News Digital by a university spokesperson said.

Christian child star sounds off on hidden influence shaping your children’s lives

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Kirk Cameron premiered his new Christian children’s show billed as the “modern-day Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood” in an effort to combat the current “woke” state of children’s entertainment.

“Adventures of Iggy and Mr. Kirk” is a live-action show that follows Cameron and Iggy the Iguana as they learn biblical wisdom and values.

“A show like ‘Adventures of Iggy and Mr. Kirk’ is sorely needed right now,” Cameron told Fox News Digital at last week’s Green Carpet Premiere of the program. “Parents are asking us for it. They’re saying things like, ‘Where’s Mr. Rogers? We want a show with wholesome, moral values.'”

“If you watch many of Hollywood’s kids shows, you would think that parents want woke instructions for their kids,” he continued. “But the reality is they don’t. They’re not looking for gay dinosaurs and trans ducks to teach their children morality. They want wholesome values and morals to be taught to their kids by people that they trust. And that’s why I’m so excited about our show. Because it gets to the heart of the kinds of values parents are trying to teach their kids at home and this show is going to reinforce those values while keeping the ‘wow’ factor of the entertainment.”

KIRK CAMERON, CHRISTIAN PARENTS FLOAT REPLACING DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION AS TRUMP MULLS CABINET PICK

Actress Leigh-Allyn Baker, known for her roles on “Charmed” and “Will & Grace,” said today’s TV offerings have become too overly stimulating. “Iggy and Mr. Kirk,” she said, helps to slow things down.

“First of all, children’s entertainment has gotten really visually overstimulating, and they’ve done studies to show that that’s actually the brain on heroin for children,” Baker told Fox News Digital. “It becomes very addicting. So, we wanted something that was slower paced. That parents could actually take a break and let their kids watch. And it would be educational, and it would encourage great behavior, positive attributes to society, ways that we should all be living a better life.”

Asked about current shows that have been introducing characters who identify as “non-binary” or who use “they/them” pronouns, like Netflix Jr.’s “Ridley Jones,” Baker said adults can use whatever pronouns they want, but she suggested they leave the kids out of it.

“I don’t know why children aren’t left alone,” she continued. “Like leave the kids alone.”

Duck Dynasty” couple Jep and Jessica Robertson explained why they showed up to support the new program.

“I think anything that’s spiritual-based is always good,” Jep said. “Plus it’s a lot like ‘Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood’ and who doesn’t love that show?”

“I think it’s trending in the wrong direction,” he said of today’s children’s entertainment. “I think you can see that people are kind of done with the ‘woke’ stuff, which is good. It’s like a breath of fresh air.”

YOUTUBE KIDS DEFENDS CONTENT WITH DRAG CHILDREN, DISCUSSIONS ON CONSENT AND WHITE PRIVILEGE

“Parents need shows that they can trust,” Brave Books founder Trent Talbot told Fox News Digital. “Wholeheartedly, that they know will reinforce the values that they hold dear. And, we wanted to put together a live-action show, that gets to the heart of real issues that kids are dealing with. Forgiveness, honestly, putting others first. Things like that. And we think that we delivered.”

Cameron and friends said the 2024 election won by President-elect Donald Trump was “100 percent” a referendum on wokeness in the U.S.

“There was this wonderful aspect of the last four years, brought to attention where we go when we abandon good, wholesome, American constitutional values,” Cameron said. “And this has served as a wake-up call for parents, and families all over the nation who not only voted, but they’re also looking for an opportunity to lean in to a solution and actually participate by training their kids, and raising them up in the way they should go.”

“Yeah, it’s a mandate from the majority of the people in the United States that we are absolutely done with that nonsense,” Baker agreed.

“Absolutely,” Jessica Robertson said. “It was such a refreshing outcome and to know that people who have conservative views and Jesus followers, there’s a lot of people out there that are like-minded, and it was just really refreshing because you see so many things in the news that are false, and it kind of feeds on that, and you get down about life, and your hopes.”

“It’s definitely a dangerous trend,” Talbot said of progressive entertainment, “but I think that this election showed that the American public has had enough of that. And we’re heading in a new direction.”

“Adventures of Iggy and Mr. Kirk” is giving fans the opportunity to help get behind the show with a crowdfunding campaign. More information on the show can be found at Watchbrave.com. Cameron said they plan to share the first season of the show for free on YouTube, and they’ve set a funding goal of $1,250,000.

“We are taking a lot of orders for standing rib roasts, plenty of other beef roasts, pork roasts,” he told WFXR, the Fox affiliate in Roanoke.

“We’ve got a couple of pork crown roasts coming down the pipe.”

Thomas told WFXR that duck, ham and oysters have become popular alternatives.
